it. You have to give me a Dale yeah, too. I mean, come on now. I asked everybody,
on Twitter to give me a Dale yeah after Junior wins the race.
Amanda Troutman, I want to hear your best Dale, yeah.
Dale, yeah.
Louder.
All right.
That's pretty good.
Louder.
Louder.
All right, you can fix it in post.
Oh, man, what a win on Sunday for the 88 and Dale Jr.
And now, I get a lot of, I've gotten a lot of grief from you, Mike Davis, and a lot
agree from reaction theater callers in the last year and a half.
and I'm glad that at least one person heard it on Friday night.
But across this country on Sirius XM, we're going through the entire weekend of sports.
And my producer, Nick, is going through all these different things that are going on on the air,
NBA, NHL, et cetera.
And he gets to Pocono, and I said, I can already tell you what's going to happen there.
Dale Earnardt Jr. is going to win a Pocono this weekend.
He goes, wow, he's never won there.
I said it's going to change this weekend.
So I haven't made any calls this year, Mike,
about a victory.
But this was the one that I had to go out there on a limb.
I had a great feeling about Pocono because you guys have been so close there.
You know, junior, the last couple of years has run so strong there.
And he had a great qualifying run and certainly had a car that could win.
And, hey, trash on the grill, we'll take it.
Oh, yeah, we'll take it.
I got no problems taking it.
That's right.
Did you tell your producer that he would win because Kuzlowski would have a hot dog rapper?
I didn't go that far.
No.
No. I tell you what, man. I'm so excited. I'm like in the studio, I'm just sitting here walking around.
I'm still just so pumped up. Yeah, junior, I felt like Pocono Otis won a little bit, you know, a little bit.
He's had six top tens there in the last seven races, and one of them was an eighth. He should have won that.
We all remember that. Was that two years ago? Two years ago. And he had to pit for gas late.
He was the dominant car that day. So Pocono, we've been all around it. He's finished second there twice. He's finished third there twice.
Just hadn't won there. It fell.
so good.
Oh, I can't even tell you.
Let me tell you why it feels so good.
When I think back to 2009 and 2010, those two funky years.
Yeah.
A lot went on in those two years.
Crew chief changes, you know, finished 25th in points one of those years.
It was just terrible.
But that whole two-year span can be summed up and framed up nicely in my head, and it does
with a Pocono race where I remember Dell, myself, and T.
I remember thinking to myself, we were in a car, and I said, can it possibly get
any worse than this right here.
The dejection was so palpable.
It was so bad because it wasn't like we had this terrible race where the car blew up or we got
in a wreck.
No, we started 20th, we finished 27th.
We were a non-factor like we were much of that year.
And I just remember Pocono, and it haunts me how it was just the feeling was so bad leaving
that track.
I'm like, I don't know if the guy's ever going to get it back, his confidence.
When we won Sunday, it felt so redeeming.
You know, it's so redeeming because now this, when we go to this place, we have this feeling of we've won here rather than bad memories or stuff like where we were close here.
And the way he wanted, it was so awesome.
I mean, listen, a couple people I saw on Twitter talking about how Dale Jr., you know, sort of fell in his lap.
He had to hold Kozlowski off for four laps there at the end.
It wasn't like Brad blew up or crashed out and then Jr. just took the checkered flag.
No, he had to race to win that one.
Yeah, that's racing.
I mean, well, first of all, I love hearing your story because that's really cool to hear from where things were four years ago to now and just the unbelievable amount of confidence that Dale Jr. has personally and professionally the whole team and just how strong they are right now.
I mean, this is truly a championship level team.
And through 14 races, if the playoffs, if the chase started today, your number one seed would be Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the 88 team.
That just says so much.
But, you know, listen, people say you luck into them or whatever.
That's just not the truth.
I mean, he absolutely had a car that could win that race.
And sure, trash on the grill.
So did he.
Yeah.
Well, let's go back to last year.
I mean, every chance to win in Dover, every chance to win at Homestead, I mean, it goes both ways.
You know, sometimes the best car, Dale Jr., doesn't win the race.
And sometimes the best car, you know, Brad Kislowski doesn't.
Hey, and you know what?
Another thing I liked was after the race was over.
Dale Jr., anytime they gave him a microphone, said, listen, I'll fess up.
I couldn't get to him.
He had a great car, Kislauski, but that's part of the deal, trash on the grill.
And, hey, after the race, Brad, you know, left a beer for Dale Jr.
As you guys were drinking in the plane on the way back, he understands it.
That's just a part of racing.
I don't think, and I mean this, I don't think I could have taken another second place
finished to Kislauski.
I don't think I could have taken it.
I'm like, no, not again.
We finished second to him.
Was it Vegas where we were?
Kansas.
Kansas.
Vegas, too.
There was Kansas.
Oh, this year.
This year is Vegas.
Yeah, a couple years ago, Kansas.
The Kansas one was really bad for me because, you know, I think his last year should
have run out of fuel like three laps earlier.
Well, and it was right after Charlotte when the 88 ran out of fuel.
Right.
And, you know, everybody's terrified.
It was going to happen again.
I love Brad.
I love Brad.
I love Brad.
I'm just saying.
to finish second to him again would have really sucked.
It just really would have.
So, you know, I love this win.
It was a perfectly called race by Lartartre.
His strategy was phenomenal.
It was.
Phenomenal.
And he stuck to it.
I mean, can you imagine, hey, we're not going to pit under this caution.
We're going to wait 10 laps and pit under green.
Where have you heard that?
Why?
Because we're going to get into a one-stop window.
We're going to be able to make it the rest of the way.
Others can't.
This is good for us.
And it worked.
It was such a perfectly called race, coupled with a fast race car, well driven by Dale Jr.
And he even had a little luck on our side.
And it all comes together with just a great feeling, a great win.
It's awesome to hear how fired up you are.
I'm fired up.
I'm so glad you were there, man.
That was one of the things I enjoyed most about watching all this.
It's just the fact that you were there to see it.
I wish Hogue could have been there too.
But I'm glad that you were there to see it because of what you experienced a couple years ago.
That's really cool that you were there.
All right, well, let's hear from the man himself.
Let's do it.
After the big win in Pocono, Dale and R. Jr., an exclusive message every single week here for Dirty Mo listeners.
Here you go.
Hey, y'all.
It's Jr. I just got home.
And down in the basement, all the friends are here.
Casey Kane and his buddies came over.
Everybody.
All my friends are over here hanging out.
This is great.
But what a race, man.
I can't believe we finally got a win and ended up being able to go to Victor Lane there.
I've been wanting to do that for a long, long time at that racetrack.
Just been a long time coming.
But we're real happy about the strategy that Steve used.
And he'd give us a chance to be up front and have an opportunity like that
in case something happened and something did.
So I hate it for Brad.
He had the race won up to that point.
And, you know, we kind of swapped a couple races here like that
with Vegas and now Pocono.
And we win some like that and you lose some.
But the team did a good job all weekend.
Practice went great.
Qualifying went pretty decent.
Fast pit stops, as usual.
Those guys are amazing.
And now we're going to party.
So the music's pumping and everybody's got a cold one and we're just going to sit back and talk about it.
And I wish everybody was here.
Y'all take it easy.
Enjoy this download.
That's good stuff, man.
Man, it was hopping.
It was.
I like it.
You can hear how excited he was about getting that victory and he enjoyed to have a big.
He deserved to have a big time on Sunday night.
Mike Davis, speaking of the music, you want to tell everybody,
well, I mean, Dale Jr.
already left the cat out of the bag on Twitter,
but you want to tell everybody about your conversation about what he was listening to?
He's listening to my boy or singing my boy's song as he was winning that race.
We got in the Jeep.
You know, I think you just mentioned it earlier, but, yeah, there was a beer by Casey Kane.
We got in the airplane earlier that night when we finally got done with all the obligations.
It was probably three or four hours after the race.
And real quick, Mike, I just want to say, that's awesome.
Casey Kane was with y'all because my god that was a vicious hit it was as a matter of fact when we
walked in we were carrying that big heavy eagle American flag trophy down the stairs and we walked in
and they all everybody was in there and it was like hey here they are and then you know me and junior
are carrying that trophy and then I saw Casey there and I'm like oh well this is cool and I went right to
I'm like are you okay and yeah he took a hit my gosh it was a massive hit but yeah anyways we got to
the airplane earlier that night and there was a beer in the cup holder next
to junior seat in the airplane, and it was from Brad, which was really cool because we knew how
dejected Brad was.
He really was upset the way that race unfolded, and so he should be.
Anybody in that position would have been when you're that close to a win.
But it was a very nice gesture from a good pal, right?
So then he got home, we landed, and he got to the car, and there was another beer from
Casey Kane, and, you know, with a nice note.
He tweeted about that.
I wrote about it in supporting news.
But we're driving through the town.
We're heading to the house, and we were listening to Eric Church.
What's it called?
My hometown?
Is that the name of the song?
Give me back my hometown.
And we were listening to it and kind of singing along.
We're still happy, you know, one race?
And he says, you know that song right there?
I had that in my head, the entire race.
And I'm like, what?
And he goes, yeah, man, we're just sitting there.
And it's like, you know, and he's got his hands up on the steering room.
He's like, you know, I'm going down straight away.
And he's like, give me my whole town.
And I'm like, really?
Because, yeah, I mean, he's like, of course I'm focused.
I mean, it's just, you know, you're getting a rhythm and everything.
But that's, you know, long.
Big old wide race track, you know, if it's single file at that point, you know, get a little tune in your head.
And I'm like, wow.
So he's given his official Eric Church endorsement right there.
He says he didn't know any of the words.
He just knew the tune, you know, and maybe the chorus.
But I thought it was funny.
That is awesome.
Well, I'm sure Chief will appreciate that.
It's pretty funny.
Quick story in that song, he says, get together at the Pizza Hut.
Well, Pizza Hut has decided they're going to give Eric a lifetime supply of pizzas.
and so he's been looking for reasons to give people pizzas,
and Chief made it clear yesterday that if Dale Jr. needs some pizzas.
Man!
As a present, we'll be glad to supply that.
So I'm going to tell Junior next week to sing something about John Deere Tractors.
That's right, or Jim Beam or Crystal or whoever else you guys are fired up about.
That's some cool stuff.
And just a minute, I don't know that it's cool.
In fact, it's not cool at all.
that Dustin Long got hurt.
But we got to hear this story from Dustin Long.
But before we do that, Amanda, I want to hear some audio from this race.
I know you have some recorded pieces here from the MRN call of Dale passing Brad.
I cannot wait to hear this.
I've been wanting to hear it.
I have not heard it yet.
Let's hear the Motor Racing Network's call of Dale Jr. passing Brad Kozlowski.
Kislowski continuing to stretch out that lead.
It's up to one full second over Dale Earnhardt Jr.
but again a possible problem with debris on the front of the car definitely on that air intake that provide there he goes way high nearly gets into the back of danaica patrick and there goes the lead earnhard is underneath him a miscue by brad tzlowsky and dale earnhardt Jr takes the lead here comes dale earnhard junior to the bottom of the racetrack and he'll go to the lead at polka no yes how about that chills how about that that was pretty cool stuff and and the way he held him off uh was just
outstanding racing there in the last few labs. Brad, as you could tell, was trying to get to
Dale Jr.'s back bumper so he could get that piece of debris off of his grill, and he was not
able to do it. And the reason he wasn't able to do is because Dale Jr. wouldn't let him. And Dale
Jr. is doing an excellent job of staying in front of Brad Kislauski, hitting his marks, and making
sure that he would try to run a different line than Kislowski so that that rapper would not come
off the front grill.
I mean, you got to give Dale Jr.
a tremendous amount of credit for how he was able to keep Kislowski off of him in those
last few laps.
Junior told me in the car ride, it was probably, I guess right after we were talking about
the song that was in his head all day.
But he said when Brad went high, it shocked him, first of all.
He didn't know how hot Brad's motor was.
He knew that there was an issue, but he didn't know anything about it.
So when he did that, he goes by.
And the first thing that went into his head as he was making that pass,
don't overdrive this next corner.
Yeah.
Go in there easy.
keep him behind you.
Because the knack that you have, when you go make that pass,
especially when you're coming down to four laps to go,
is to just go pack her in there, and that's not good.
Brad would have just passed him right back on the inside.
Brad was right that they had equal cars.
It was just who was out front had the advantage because of the clean air.
So he says, if I can make this pass and go into the tunnel turn
and not overdrive it, I'm going to be good.
He nailed it.
That's awesome stuff, man.
We've got reaction theater coming up,
but first, we have to call.
Dustin Long.
Let's call it.
Our old segment called Speed Dial.
Let's call Dustin Long and see what happened to him here before the race started.
Speed Dial.
Okay, Mike Davis.
I want you to tell us a little bit about Dustin Long.
He's doing an interview with Dale Jr.
And what happened?
Well, I think we need to sort of set the scene here.
Dustin, are you on the line?
Can you hear us?
Yes, I can.
Dustin, welcome to the Dale Jr. download.
Glad to be talking to you, especially after a couple days of relaxing the ankle.
I hope you got it propped up.
I hope you got some ice on it.
But we were doing an interview,
junior was after qualifying on Friday,
and the garage was just a buzz with activity.
There was so much going on.
There were toolboxes, you know,
coming through from pit road and all the stuff.
A lot of fans.
And Dustin was walking with Dale Jr.
Back to the,
I guess back to the hauler.
I guess that's where you're asking.
And that's what you often do with the drivers.
You can walk with them and talk with them.
Right.
I mean, that's just kind of a common thing a lot of time.
Right.
And again, it's not so much of why couldn't Jr. stop thing.
There was just so much activity going around, and a lot of people moving around that everybody's moving.
Everybody's moving.
Like, if you stay still, you're sort of going to get run over.
It's a stampede, so to speak.
It's like they're running with the bull.
Yeah, that's right.
Well, and in fairness to Dustin, Mike, I don't know that I've ever done a stationary interview in the last few years.
So I absolutely know what you're talking about here.
So they're going through.
and then Dale Jr. cuts through the inspection line, the inspection area, which is in the garage,
and it's got, you know, set up plates, templates and so forth, and they step up on them,
and Junior's walking, and I guess I was behind you guys, Dustin.
You can take it from here on what exactly happened.
Well, you know, we're side by side.
He's on my left shoulder, and we're walking up the platform, and he finishes answering the question.
I'm looking at head, looking to work and finishes the answer to the question.
Well, I'm asking another question.
Well, I'm not going to ask it.
I'm going to turn to the head to the person and ask directly to them.
So when I turned to my left to ask Dale Jr. the next question, I took my eyes off the form,
and I got three words out, and then all of a sudden it goes, down goes Frazier.
Yeah, you went down.
You went down hard.
I tell you, when I saw you, I didn't know if it was you or somebody else that was on the ground,
but I looked down and there you are, and you were sort of wedged into that gaffe.
in that hole.
It's probably about a foot deep hole.
I mean, it was a deep hole, and it was probably a foot and a half wide or something.
I mean, it was a big hole.
So, I mean, it was just a natural stride I took and boom, went into it.
And like I said, you know, all of a sudden I'm thinking, all right, what the heck happened?
Why is everything taller than me?
And Dale Jr. was on my left, and now he's over here, and he has this horrified look on his face.
What just happened?
Yeah, it's sort of like, I woke up and I saw Junior.
Oh, man.
But Junior was feeling really bad.
I mean, it was like, oh, my gosh, what have I just done?
Like I walked him off a cliff, basically, is how Junior felt.
So we're sort of getting, helping Dustin back on his feet.
I remember somebody, Dustin.
I don't know who it was.
It said, hey, are you okay?
And you said, I think I'm going to need ice on my ankle eventually.
But typical Dustin long mode, he went right back to his interview.
He's like, like, we'll worry about this.
later now.
Yeah.
And actually, I think your recorder was broken, wasn't it?
It just shut down.
And it ended up, I thought it was broken, but I ended up gotten it working a little
bit later.
But yeah, you know, what happened was after I went down and once I got my thoughts
kind of collected was, okay, that was a big fall on my ankle.
There's not a lot of pain right now, but I could feel it literally blowing up like a
balloon.
And I'm like, okay, if there's not a tremendous amount of pain,
It's not broken.
I'm going to finish this interview by God,
because there's a couple questions I wanted to ask Dale.
And then I will go and get ice on the thing,
and maybe I'll be on crutches for a couple of days,
and I'll be fine after that.
So, you know, certainly.
And I'll give a lot of, you know, a big applause and compliments to you, Mike,
to Laura Scott, for the NASCAR officials, to Dale, who helped me up.
Kind of were patient as I kind of got my,
the cobwebs shaken loose from my head.
there what just happened and then you know Dale was kind enough to say for the for the
interview and what was so funny and I think you even you know you showed me a picture you
took was you know NASCAR and I give you know credit to NASCAR they called the medical staff
and then the poke track of medical officials were there but they did not interrupt the interview
and they were just kind of hovering around right because you know and Dale Jr. had some really
interesting comments this talk that he was saying I was just thinking it was like please
Please don't interrupt it.
Please don't interrupt it.
Right.
And it's like, if you interrupt us, I'm going to strike somebody.
Well, what was funny, though, I mean, although inadvertently, I will give you this, although
inadvertently, you somehow uncovered a way to get unlimited time with Junior.
Yeah, that's a good point.
Because there's no way, Dustin, that we were going to be like, hey, Dustin, you need to wrap this up, dude.
I mean, come on, man.
We got somewhere to be.
No, you pretty much had Dale Jr. for the duration, as long as you wanted him, because here it is, you went down.
now you're playing wounded.
Man.
And Junior was feeling, you know, very, very guilty, I guess.
You're giving me some ideas.
I'm going to go to Kentucky in a few weeks, Mike.
I might just break my arm.
Take a spill.
Like I said, you know, I just thought, because there wasn't a whole lot of pain at the time,
I didn't think it was broken.
I thought, okay, I've got a bad sprain.
I want to ask a couple questions, and I know I've got to end this quickly
because I'm going to have to get ice on this
and get this taken care of because, like I said,
It was just really swelling up.
It did.
And, yeah.
Did you tweet a picture of it?
Is that what happened?
Yeah, yeah.
I had to go.
I went to the In-go care center, and then they said, you need to go to an urgent care center and get x-ray.
So I drove myself to an urgent care center, which it was my left, it's my left ankle, so I could drive a car.
So that wasn't.
Now, unfortunately, I have a fixed ship at home, so that we're playing multiple.
We're changing our cars around to do that.
But so I drove myself to urgent care center.
And while I was waiting in the room for the doctor, after they took my sock and chew off,
then I took the picture and tweeted out.
Yeah, we were starting to feel okay.
Like, you know, Dustin's okay.
We went back, you know, we were kind of, I think we just had some dinner.
And we're like, okay, Dustin seemed to be okay.
Everything's good.
And then he tweets the picture.
And I've purchased watermelons that weren't as big as the foot that he took a picture of.
Okay, so.
Yeah, I mean, I saw Clint Boyer retweeting it and talking about it like, good, gracious.
what's happened here.
But that was, yeah, that definitely blew up on you in, very quick.
It looked like it.
No, it did.
It looked just like it.
I got to hear this post-raised exchange between Dustin and Dale Jr.
Well, that was hilarious.
Dustin, I don't know how it started.
Did you raise your hand to ask a question during the?
Yes, I raised my hand to ask you questions.
So, yeah, it was the winner's press conference.
Juniors in the media center.
And he had answered several questions already about the win and everything.
and then we hear Dustin Long from MRN, and he's back,
and then Dale Jr. immediately starts laughing,
and then what was the exchange, Dustin?
Amanda says she's got it.
Yeah, let's listen to the audience.
Okay, let's listen to this.
Dustin Long, MRN.com.
Dale, to your left up, way back here.
Hey.
Easy access.
Easy access.
Use the ramp.
I would stand.
Why are you so far?
way, man.
I'm not going to hurt you.
I'm not going to hurt you.
I'm not going to hurt you.
I won't push you again.
That's awesome.
That's hilarious.
And again, for the record, he did not push me.
You know, he was joking.
And I just, you know, I just was asking the question and went down.
So, no, he didn't push me at all.
Did that embarrass you that exchange?
I mean, you know, you're...
Oh, it's fun.
I mean, you know, you got to laugh about it.
I mean, you know, I'm at home and I've got a three-story town home,
so I've got two levels of stairs to go up.
Oh.
And so, you know, what was it?
Yesterday when I got home, I got on my butt and lit up the first flight of stairs.
15 steps, 15 steps in 42 seconds.
So you got to be able to laugh at things like that.
Well, and you know the time that you have to beat now.
You've got track records.
Yeah, well, that was the whole deal.
I told him what I was like, I'm like time me because now I'm going to start working on my time and getting down lower.
Hey, before you let him go, Mike, I do want to get his thoughts on Dale Jr. winning at Pocono.
Dustin, I don't know if you remember this, but a few years ago, you and I were walking during the golf tournament out at Quail Hollow in Charlotte.
And we were talking some racing and talking, and this is three or four years ago.
And Dale Jr. was going through a really tough time that Mike was documenting earlier.
And we were talking about him, and you said, man, it's just his confidence.
It's just broken.
And I'm just curious to get your perspective on what you see now from him and his team.
I mean, right now, if the playoffs start, they're the number one seed.
and I just, I'm curious to see what you think.
This is a, as of right now, this is a championship type team.
There's no doubt about it.
If you look at it, and one of the things that Dale talked about after the race was, you know,
they were in position.
One of the questions I asked them was just, why is he winning multiple races?
Why is he able to win now when he couldn't, even the last couple of years as often,
when they were good with Steve Lattart and the rest of the guys?
And he talked about there's just a small difference.
between running fourth and running second.
He said, you know, in the last couple of years,
they might have been fourth in the Pocono race,
and when Keselowski had his issue,
they would have been watching someone else win the race.
Now, these guys, Dale, Steve, and the rest of the team,
they are putting themselves in position to win races.
They are putting themselves in position
that when things happen to the leaders,
they take advantage of it.
Think about this.
In the first 14 races of the season,
Dale Earnhardt Jr. has finished in the top three
six times. And if you want to go back to the last five races of last season where he had a really
hot street going, you look and add that in there. So in his last 19 races, essentially half a season,
in his last 19 races, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has finished third or better nine times.
We're talking about he's finishing the top three, 50% of the time. Now I understand, you know,
you can say, hey, look at the speed Kevin Harvick has, and I think everybody would agree. He's probably
been the fastest car out there, but it doesn't do you any good to be fast.
for the first 250 miles and not be there at the end.
Junior is fast and he's there at the end.
Now, if they can keep this going,
you have to look at Dale Earnhardt Jr.
as a serious championship contender
and maybe one of the favorites, if not the favorite,
at this point.
Mike, I'm sorry, the guy hurt his leg.
I am.
But if it took him her...
Oh, wait a minute.
I'm sorry.
That must be the meds talking.
Oh, no, no, no.
Listen, I'm sorry.
Now, what I was going to say.
Oh, Justin.
He was doing so well.
I was going to say, if it took him getting injured to get that kind of perspective on this program,
then it was worth it to me.
It may not have been worth it to Dustin, but man alive, he is so right.
Well, I'll tell you what, is when the race ended Sunday, my wife sent me a text and said,
she saw Dale Jr. at one.
She's like, gee, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is going to have your ankle broken every week.
And now I'm getting, now I'm getting notes from some fans in Junior Nation having fun going,
Are you going to be at Michigan this weekend?
We need to break another ankle.
Or some people think it was a broken leg and they want to break a leg.
I'm just like, oh, my gosh.
Be glad that Mike Hogue is going back on the road because if it were me,
I would be bringing my baseball bat to you, buddy.
Yeah, I would be swinging.
Well, I'll tell you what, I was previously scheduled to be off this weekend at Michigan anyway.
So you guys are going to have to win this one on your own.
Oh, there you go.
Got to do with that.
Somebody else, some other reporters getting injured this week.
Dustin, great stuff, man.
I hope you keep healing up.
Great perspective from you.
So good at what you do, man.
We appreciate your time.
Hey, thanks a lot.
And like I said, I appreciate the concern and the compassion and the health from Dale, from Mike and Laura and everybody else.
You know, everybody was really good to me.
It was just an accident.
It was just one of those things.
And everybody's support and concern has been greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.
Well, we appreciate you being on here today with us.
Dustin, thank you so much.
Dustin Long from MRN joining us here on the Dale Jr. download.

Dahlia.
Oh, by the way, did you actually see the guy?
Amanda.
Amanda.
Amanda, where are you?
I'm working.
Dahlia.
So go get yourself a pair if you have a.
already.
Hey, Taylor, did you see the video of the kid that was in the grandstands?
We're in the Dale yet, Dirty Moe Radio.
And he was screaming, Dale, yeah.
I loved it.
I loved it across the finish line.
I counted them.
You know, as soon as the checkered flu, I said, if anybody out there is pretty fired up about what just happened, give me a Dale, yeah.
I counted them.
Are you ready for this?
I'm ready.
9707, Dale, yes.
That's pretty strong.
That is strong.
907.
It took me like a long time
because I'm from Alabama
to count all this.
And NASCAR.com put their
as soon as Junior 1,
their big headline
on the front page
at NASCAR.com was deal, yeah.
That's awesome.
Okay, let's get to Reaction Theater,
Ms. Troutman,
and see what we got.
Come on, maybe.
Junior is going into,
what is this?
Come on.
Come on.
Final lap.
Come on!
Yes!
Yes!
Oh, in-race reaction theater calling.
Yeah.
That's awesome.
Play-by-play?
Best call I've ever heard.
Always encourage you to give us your play-by-play call when Junior wins a race.
That's good stuff.
Phenomenal.
All right.
What's next?
That is great stuff.
No idea of what he said, but I loved every word of it.
That was awesome.
That was really great.
What's next?
Yes.
Victory number two.
First time we won multiple races in 10 years.
I don't know what I'm happier about.
The fact that I no longer have to hear T.J. Majors call up the white flag on the Dell Junior download
where the fact that I'm pretty sure the trash ended up on the front of the two car came from the Dell guys.
Dell, yeah.
There you go.
We've got to get a new white flag in there, I guess.
But they didn't say white flag.
He said something different.
I think, did you get that, Amanda?
He didn't say white flag.
He didn't say white flag.
So we're stuck with that.
I still think Stevie's call a couple years ago in Michigan's the best.
That's the best.
That's the best white flag.
Yeah, yeah.
There you go, buddy.
White flag.
Yeah.
Hey, he brought up a point about the multiple wins in 10 years.
Somebody asked me in Victor Lane, I think it was Claire B. Lange.
She goes, hey, you know, has it been a couple years since he's won two races?
And I'm thinking back, and I'm like, oh, my goodness.
And I'm thinking back, and I'm like, no, well, you know, one race there, one race there.
And I'm like, oh, my gosh, has it been since 2004 since he's won multiple races?
And I'm looked there checking.
I'm like, oh, my God, I didn't even realize it.
2004, the year we won six races.
It shows you how special this season is.
I'm going to tell you this right now.
Don't get stuck up on the number two.
No.
I think we've got more to come.
Yeah.
In fact, let's talk about this next.
Dustin Long's got more ankles to break.
That's right.
Work in the morning.
I'm wearing my daily yes shirt on Monday.
I don't get it.
Oh.
I'd love to get a back-to-back.
All right.
Claire B. Lang's asking you questions.
When's the last time Junior got a back-to-back?
I'm thinking.
I don't know that he has.
Okay.
Then we'll just go get one in Michigan.
Make some history.
Is there sort of an asterque one?
Did he not win?
Richmond, and then won the All-Star race the next week back in his rookie season.
What was that?
2000.
It was 2000.
It would be points races.
We need back-to-back points wins is what we need.
Oh, my God.
That was amazing.
But you know what?
I got to say one thing.
Mike Hogue was there for the Daytona 500.
He wasn't there for Polkino.
Now, we're going to Michigan next week.
I think Mike Hogue should show up.
You know, maybe it's an alternating back and forth thing.
I don't know.
Who knows?
Hoke.
I think Hogue is the guy.
For us, he needs to be there.
All right.
Tell you, Hogue, yeah.
Oh, goodness.
Don't worry about that.
Hope will be there.
Well, I chose this call specifically because there was actually a lot of people calling
Hogue out saying stay home for the bad luck term.
And I'm like, well, wait a minute.
He was there for the 500.
Yeah, he's got this little thing called a Daytona 500 on his resume.
The only thing I'm disappointed in is when Junior was recording his message,
he didn't interview you, Mike, because, you know, he interviewed Hogue after he won the Daytona 500.
What was your perspective, Mike, Hogue?
At that point, I had my roller skates on.
I think we were throwing furniture in the swimming pool.
I was in no shape.
Yeah, I can't find him.
He's busy right now.
All right, well, what we got next?
Dale Jr. wins him at Pocono.
That's amazing.
The only thing that could make this day any better is if Dale would have a,
Dale, yeah, in his victory speech.
Hey, Stevie, you've got two wins.
You're in the chase.
It's summertime.
Time for that pit road barbecue.
Get that kiddie pool out.
It's going to be amazing.
Great summer.
Let's do it.
Dale, yeah.
Oh, yeah, I love it.
I think Junior has too much humility to ever say something that has his own name in it as his exclamation point, you know, phrase.
It'd be like Amanda going, Amanda, yeah, everybody goes to walk by somebody.
I would totally do that.
Taylor, yeah.
Taylor, yeah.
We need to find a piece of paper and frame it.
Damn, oh, yeah.
By the way, Junior had some paper on his grill, too.
Oh, the hot dog wrap.
Yeah, yeah.
I got you.
There's paper on everybody.
body's grill it seemed.
Yeah, I mean, Jr. had paper on his grill at the end and the beginning of the race.
There you go.
All right.
What's next?
Dale, Jr., you wanted, you wanted, the second time this year you wanted.
I was actually so excited.
You know, wintertime did.
I couldn't watch.
So I walked up, that.
And then I was like, no, I can't miss it.
I can't miss it.
I can't miss it.
Oh, and I can.
Oh, and her.
You did it.
You did it.
You know what, Jr.
This is going to be.
You're here.
going to win the championship.
I just know it.
I know it.
Oh, too.
Oh, my gosh.
I'm just,
my heart is just breathing.
Oh, I love you, too, I love you.
I love you.
I really could listen to that all day.
I'm telling you.
If it was any other week that might, you know,
I'm thinking about when Harry met Sally right now.
See, I was concerned.
Like, she was having a heart attack or something.
She was so worked up.
She probably was.
A lot of people were.
I was.
I'd tell you.
I love it.
I love it.
all back and do that again the next time we win that's awesome what do we have next way to go junior
threw it down brad dug low i seen you going to know and neither oh yeah brother way to win
hell yeah oh bringing the exercise element into it yeah i got you what's next so when i go to the
brickyard this year i've decided i'm not going to take any food i'm not going to take any water
and i'm not going to take any beer i'm just going to take a big old trash bag full of garbage and i'm just
going to be chucking it out on the racetrack at the end of the race.
Because it seems to be our good luck charm this year.
And I never thought I'd say this, but thank you, trash.
I love you.
You're awesome.
Dale, yeah.
Amanda, I think we need waivers now for anybody that calls Rex there just to make sure
we're not accountable for anything they do at the racetrack.
Right, yeah.
Instead of pure Michigan, it'll be trashy Michigan this weekend.
Yeah, no, we don't want to condone that.
But, hey, listen.
and Dale Jr's had trash on the grill both wins this year.
Yeah, that's right.
That's right.
What's next?
You know what I like most about Dale Jr?
is that he's honest.
You see, he went out there, he said Brad had the better car.
He looked out in one-one and with a number of times that we've lost them doing something weird,
we finally got one, the universe Otis one.
And you know you're a junior fan when as soon as he crosses the finish line,
your daughter looks at you and says,
it's time for you to go get some delicious beer.
Dale yeah, see, all in.
Yeah.
Yes, you do know that.
Sure.
That's good.
Well, Junior's saying the same.
What's next?
Always a bride's made, but never a bride.
Not no more.
Hey, Brad.
You like Vegas?
Well, this is Vegas in return.
There you go.
Hey, it sure was.
Let me say this real quick.
We had our DMVL basketball games last night, and Brad came just to say hi to everybody and show up.
And it was really cool seeing him.
And I said to Brad and said, hey, how hot was that thing?
And he goes, it was hot.
I said, could you cook a steak on it?
You could have cooked a steak, ribs, whatever you want.
It had cooked it, and it had been well done on that motor.
But it was cool to see him.
You know, he was coming by saying hi to everybody last night.
That's really cool.
Who's next?
We did it.
Yes, we don't do much.
Love it.
Good stuff, man.
Everybody's so fired up this.
I love it.
We could listen to this all day.
I could.
It fires me up.
I just want to go win Michigan even more now.
Absolutely.
I believe on behalf of Junior Nation, we need to send
a Delia T-shirt or just a big thank-you letter or hopefully they listened to the broadcast of the show here
and whoever ate that sandwich, hot dog, cheeseburger, whatever it was, and let that wrapper out there onto the racetrack.
Thank you and didn't like it too much, but they got another victory and another winter sticker on the car.
The one thing I want to bring up here is that remember at Daytona when we had the wrapper,
it sort of taped up the grill for that last bit of run and that actually helped us, I felt.
other than the fact that Brad made a decision to get behind Danica
and that ultimately let Junior pass him,
that really had no effect because the motor didn't blow
and if anything, he had his nose taped up.
Now, I know his engine was running hot,
he was worried it was going to blow, as he should have been,
but it didn't.
So in the end, Junior still had to race for that win.
He still had to hold him off.
He still had to do everything that you've got to do to win that race.
He did it.
And the fact that he ran different lines
trying to make it where Brad couldn't get up to his bumper to get it off.
Very impressive.
Woo-hoo.
Hell yeah, baby.
We won the first race on Fox.
We won the first race on TNT.
We got more to come, Dallan.
There's more to come.
I'm so freaking excited.
Way to go, Dale.
Way to go, Steve.
Way to go all 88 guys.
I love you, man.
You rock.
That's a good point.
Great observation.
Watch out, Espin.
Here comes the brickyard.
Right.
And then after that, let's get some races on Food Net.
work or something. Right. ABC's got Bristol.
So, all right. We'll just win first race on every network. That's pretty cool. Last one.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, junior nation and spy optics
eyewear proudly brings to you. It's 2014 Pocono winner. And if you're not down with that,
we got two words for you. Suck it!

Hell yeah.

Check out J.R.M. 360, the podcast.
Last week's phone number heard around the one.
world is called some uneasy feelings for Mike Hogue.
Maybe we finally can get to hear his side of the retaliation.
He felt like he doesn't have enough support, so I'm curious to hear that coming up.
And then, of course, Monday we recap the full weekend and Amanda does an excellent job
with Junior Motorsports Nationwide and Late Model Teams and Dale's Sprint Cup series run on the Monday recap, presented by Spy.
Mike Davis, let's throw that white flag.
Let's do it.
Junior is so loaded today.
his schedule Amanda not anything else where's your head as we tape this podcast this tuesday morning
he's up and at him doing media interviews he's talking about polka no and triangles and trash
and trains and mama in prison and getting drunk yeah i'm sorry is david well sat down
wrote another verse of the song that's right i meant to tell you that a friend of my name
steve goodman wrote this white flag that's right juniors also got a photo shoot today then meetings
than prison.
And then he's off to Cincinnati, Ohio,
where he will attend the Reds Dodgers game tonight
on behalf of a great sponsor, Unilever, and their key partner, Kroger.
Now, let me get serious here for a second.
I want to make sure Junior Nation hears me on this
because many times we get asked,
how can I support Dale, how can I congratulate Dale,
how can I show that I love Dale?
Here's a way you can always support Dale Jr.,
especially after wins, guys.
That is by helping him raise money for the Dale Jr.
It means something to him.
So hear this.
You can help him raise money by entering to win his car.
Wait what?
Yeah, entering to win his car.
You can show support to Dale Jr.
You purchase a $25 raffle ticket, which will enter you to win his 2014 Corvette Stingray.
It's Junior's biggest fundraiser or one of his biggest fundraisers of the year.
It's called Win Dale Jr's ride.
It's as simple as buying a $25 raffle ticket.
Now you can purchase as many as you want, although we're only selling $8,88888.
That's 888 for those that need that again.
So that's it.
Support Dale, buy tickets, win a Corvette.
It's that easy.
There are other prizes, too.
But let's be real, guys.
This is more about helping kids and schools and education and poverty.
It's just an amazing impact that the Dell Junior Foundation is making.
So go to the Dell Jr.foundation.org or winddale juniors ride.com.
The Dell Jr.foundation.org or Windell Junior's Ride.com.
Those websites will give you all you need to know about Windell Junior's ride.
All right.
Coming up, double duty weekend this weekend for Dale Jr.
Start with a nationwide series.
will drive the number 88 eBay Chevrolet in Saturday's race.
Taylor, have you seen the front of our building, by the way?
I have.
It's pretty, that's a large photo.
It is a large photo.
I don't know what to say about that thing.
No, it's nice.
It's nice is what it is.
That starts a nationwide race starts at 1.30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN, again,
juniors in the number 88 eBay Chevrolet.
Then on Sunday, Junior will be gunning for two in a row as he drives the number 88
National Guard Colors in the Sprint Cup series race.
That will be at 1 p.m. Eastern time on TNT.
Lastly, Taylor, Father's Day is coming up.
Have you been planning for it?
I know it's a big deal.
It is.
We've already celebrated Father's Day because my wife's out of the country,
and I'm going to be in Pinehurst working for Sirius XM for the U.S. Open.
I hear you.
Absolutely happy Father's Day to everybody out there.
Well, I was going to say, if you haven't got a Father's Day gift,
I'm talking to you the listeners here,
I just, you know, I'm going to drop you a little hint here.
Dale Dillia t-shirts and spice sunglasses are pretty spectacular.
So just putting that out there, I'm here to help.
That's it for white flags.
I want to give a shout out to Jimmy Johnson.
He's an awesome teammate.
He showed up in Victory Lane to congratulate his teammate.
Yes, he did.
He's a great friend of Dale Jr., and he needs credit for doing that.
He's an absolute class act.
I want to thank everybody makes this podcast possible after doing it.
I realize that we've created the perfect Dale Jr.
Dale Jr. Dale.
Mike Davis, thank you.
Thank to Mike Hoag.
Thanks to everybody associated with Junior Nation and Team Junior.
Amanda Troutman, you're awesome.
For Dale Jr., I'm Taylor Zarzer.
