This is Dale Jr. and you're listening to Dirty Moe Radio.
Dale Jr. looking three wide, three wide into three.
And Stenhouse brushes the wall.
Dale Jr. goes to the second spot.
Four to go and apparently Dale Earnhardt Jr. wants that grandfather clock.
He sets his sights on the race leader Tony Stewart.
Jeff Gordon rides in the third spot.
They're three wide all the way through one and two, but they get away.
Here comes Jr. to the bottom.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Ducks low on Stewart.
They bang a bit in three.
Earnhardt is there.
bang again in four.
Turnhard is through and Gordon as well.
Junior glances off the side of Tony Stewart, but he gets the lead.
Jeff Gordon goes to second.
Tony falls to third.
How about that?
Can we find that woman?
I think it was TJ.
Can anybody give us a day?
Was that T.J.?

The man said, don't put your head down.
Don't get upset.
He said it.
Let's go get a clock.
Let's hear from the man himself.
Hey, everybody.
It's the junior.
Just got home from Martinsville.
I'm in the library kind of where it's quiet.
The team's all not here just yet, but they will be here shortly.
And we'll be hanging out till the sun comes up.
this one right man that's crazy i can't believe it after all these years guy you keep trying to do
something trying and trying and trying to try and year after year after year and getting so close and you
wonder maybe just going to get close and that's it but god's great god had a plan and that's the only way
i can imagine it you know we got a great team and things just come together for a reason jeph had
the best car and i knew it i felt like if i could get it
get by everybody pretty quick I could get a little distance and then just run clean laps he
wouldn't get to the bumper to be able to give me any trouble and uh but I've had the best
car there before and not won the race so you gotta get it all lined up it's got all happen just right
man I can't believe it so amazed that I'll get to wake up every day and come downstairs
and see again Martinsville grandfather clock in my living room my home that's gonna be a lot
lot of fun growing old with that damn thing oh man a lot you know it's a so much goes into this it's
just hard to express how meaningful it is because we dream pretty big try you know dreaming to win
these races and it's pretty damn incredible when the dreams come true hard to put it into words but
yeah we ask a lot because you know you want to go try out there and win the dayton 500 that's crazy
You know, when Martinsville, win Pocono, and it's amazing that that stuff's happened.
I feel like I'm in a movie.
I feel like I'm in a movie.
It feels real.
It doesn't feel real.
You guys enjoy this victory.
We certainly did.
Enjoy the download.
Everybody's starting to show up for the parties, so I'm going to be here.
That's Joe showing up.
I got there about 10 o'clock.
It's good stuff there.
We want to credit MRN radio.
We played that audio, which was outstanding,
outstanding job of calling those last few laps.
You guys have fun last night?
Yeah.
Y'all feel okay today?
Yeah, I mean, I'm tired.
You don't sound like you feel okay.
I'm tired.
Yeah?
You're down to turn TJ up a little bit.
He's a little quiet today.
I'm down a little bit.
Mike, you all right?
I'm fine, but see, I was smart last night.
You know, I didn't go all night.
I didn't see the sun come up because, you know,
I had a job and we were going to record this.
Honestly, I wish we could have come in here and record Dirty
Radio at midnight on Sunday night or Monday morning.
That would have been our best podcast probably, but I was fired up, man.
That's a good idea.
That would be fun.
That would be a midnight edition like they're doing college basketball.
Just do a midnight show.
You bathed yourself, Joe?
Yes, yes.
I'm ready to go.
I made it home like 3 o'clock.
Okay.
That's good.
I didn't see the sun come up.
But it was close.
Junior probably did see the sun come up?
The party seemed like it was just getting started when I left.
Wow.
You don't smell that?
I have not bathed.
I was wondering what that was.
Champagne.
I was wondering what that was.
I thought it was Amanda.
It's not fair to pick on the person without a mic.
That's right.
I know.
They just got a lot more fun.
Winning Martinsville, I know, is really, really important.
And talking to him for years about the race that he wanted to win the most,
that certainly was on his list.
We'll get to the other one that he's always wanted to win,
that he hasn't won in just a minute.
But let's first talk about.
about why this is so meaningful.
Mike, you've been with them for a long time.
I mean, that's just the race.
I mean, listen, there's a lot of great races throughout this season
that make you so proud to be a NASCAR fan
or proud to be associated with the team.
I just don't feel like any race in 2014
takes you back to its roots more than this one does.
And maybe that's a huge reason why it's so meaningful.
A huge reason why it's meaningful,
but also because we've been so close so many times.
I equate Martinsville with the hot girl that flirts with you but never goes on a date.
We've been very close.
I've never had a problem.
So yesterday she said yes.
Yesterday she said yes.
On the 30th try, she said yes to the 40-year-old man, by the way.
She wouldn't go out with the 25-year-old.
Right.
You went out with the 40-year-old.
Like five, six years ago, she decided to pick Jimmy Johnson, Jr., you would have been my second choice.
She likes Jimmy and Jeff a lot.
Right.
Right.
Or Denny Hamlin.
She like...
But really, I mean, we've been so close.
In 2003, he led 195 laps, finished third.
You know, he came back the next year,
led 155 laps.
These were incidences like Ricky Craven's lap car
had a mechanical issue and sent him tail-spitting.
You know, you had 2004, we were very close.
2006, which I think was his best performance in a race car,
one of the best that nobody notices.
and that's when he got in a wreck on the second lap of the race.
He drove the entire race with a third of his front fender missing,
and they made like 12 unscheduled pit stops,
and he climbed back to fourth,
only to get another wreck and go backwards again,
and he still came back and finished fourth.
It was one of the most amazing.
And then let's not even talk about 2011,
with Kevin Harvick coming with his new tires and all.
That was in the spring.
Yeah, I mean, we've been close so many times.
Martinsville was nothing but a big,
flirt. Well, we could compare it to his very first Martinsville race. This is a long ways from that.
Oh, that's right. When he, like, hit everything out there? He hit a wrecker.
Yeah. That was a Days of Thunder moment that actually happened. Jimmy passed him under caution a few years ago.
Oh, that's right. That was a big deal. And that was last year, because everybody went crazy on this podcast.
That's right. Reaction theater was wild for that. Joe, I can't imagine what that feels like. To start
23rd, go through the field like that and be a part of that crew. T.J., I certainly want to get your
thoughts on spotting for all of that, but how do that feel, man? It was awesome because we were a part
of it all day long. I mean, with the pit stops and everything, giving them great pit stops,
picking up positions every time we come in. That was awesome to be a direct part of the finish.
Yeah, and like, for example, there's no question he wins the race. You guys win the race
if there's no caution that comes out. But then to have to come in,
in.
Yeah.
And no, you're not going to come back out first.
Know a couple of guys are going to stay out there in old tires.
That's got to be really satisfying, too.
Yeah.
And the big thing is they throw the red flag before we come in and pit.
So you've got to sit there as a pick crew member and thinking it in your head, I can't
screw this stop up.
You have more time to think about it.
Yeah.
So you just start dwelling on.
Ice the kicker, basically.
Yeah.
T.J.
And T.J, you're trying to watch all of this.
Who's coming?
Who's going?
It's crazy, isn't it?
Yeah, later in the race, it's not nearly as hard because there's more, there's gaps on pit road,
and, you know, you have more lap cars and stuff, and it makes a little easier for the pit crew guys,
but, you know, they did a great job all day, too, of getting us out there.
And, you know, we never, we had great stops and great track position, man, but it's,
it's really hard in that race when you start mid-pack on them restarts and the initial start.
There's so much break checking into the corners and stuff.
And if you listen to a 23rd place start compared to a, you know,
you know like a fifth place start there's a whole bunch more like telling them like checking up
up front of you all right your lane's going to roll your lane there's a whole bunch more of that but
people just they just jump down it when as soon as there's a hole they jump down then that just jams
the whole row up there and a lot of guys going there and we don't really do it because I feel like
I give him enough of a notice but you'll see as soon as I see somebody shoot down there I'll
notify him and he knows that he needs to lift a little bit earlier still and and and other guys
like a whole bunch of them going there and just hit they all hit each other in the bumper and it's
actually kind of funny to watch some of it actually.
I don't think we heard T.J.
I don't think we heard T.J.
as he was bumping, beaten and banging with smoke there.
Yeah, I didn't really think we were going to hit him.
Did you say, you hit his door, you hit his bumper, that was awesome.
You're clear.
You know what?
That was like door, slam clear.
Yeah, there wasn't much of a time to get bumper in there.
But he's like that in the race there, though, man.
We caught Kyle a couple years ago there,
and he wasted no time.
The first corner we got to him,
he running to the back of him and shot on the track
and kept digging.
Then Kevin ended up catching us at the very end
and getting around us.
But, I mean, I don't know, the Hulk comes out inside there
in the last 20 laps or something.
Hey, and that's what people have been wanting.
Yeah, I mean, I'm all for it.
Every week.
They're like, he's just not aggressive enough.
There is no way that race could have gone any better.
There's no way.
There's no way it could have gone.
better. I am so impressed
by the level of maturity
of everybody
to win that race after not
qualifying for the next round. That's real
hard to overcome. I don't care what sport
we're talking about. I don't care what we're
talking about in life. That's real
hard to overcome and say, hey, you know what?
We're not going to win a championship
this year, and I'm going to
forget about it and go win Martinsville.
From the crew's standpoint,
from the crew chief standpoint, from the
organization standpoint, what was last week
like? Last week, as far as Talladega or Martinsville? Just coming from Talladega to Martinsville and being
able to focus and win like that. It was. It's hard to, but you got a job to do when you come to do it.
And, you know, and that's what we get paid to do. So you have to be able to shrug off stuff like that and go out and perform.
It's easier said than done. It is easier said than done. But it's, but it's, we're professionals and you got to do it. It's just, I don't know.
It just, you just have to do it. And it just happens.
You've got to be damn proud of it.
It's like a light switch.
TJ?
Yeah, I mean, I went home last Sunday and kind of sat there and held Malin for a little bit
and was just thinking about like, all right, well, you know, it's kind of weird because normally
you're not limited that many races left to go.
You're still on the chases.
Hunt at some point, I really expected us to be in the final for Homestead.
I mean, I did.
And minus a blown tire and a broke your shift.
There's no reason why we wouldn't be racing for it already right now.
I mean, it's just how it came, you know, about.
But, you know, you go home and you think about it a little bit.
And, you know, the good thing about our sport, too, is there is a race next week.
And, you know, the competitive side comes out.
And when you get to that racetrack, I mean, you want to win no matter what.
Mike, talk about it because you have to be especially so proud being around Dale as much as you are.
Just flip to swift.
Let's go.
Well, you know, saying that, you know, there's trophies to win and, you know, we're going to keep going.
Let's admit it.
That's part of a script that everybody has.
Everybody has that script in their pocket.
And so when things don't go well, that's naturally what you're supposed to say.
But Dale Minut.
And if you go back and listen to last week's podcast when he said it, you got the feeling like, you know what?
I really believe him here.
You know, you can't know for sure.
You know, he was coming off a Talladega.
That was disappointment.
But you know what?
Knowing how good the team is, knowing that it's Stevie's last few races and I know how much Dale wants to actually, you know, send him out on a, you know, on the top and, you know, off of wins.
I think he generally wanted this thing.
And dang, if you guys didn't go back it up, Joe, I mean, you guys come out and it was like the best performance.
This was the best.
It was the most perfect race to win because you had to hold off one of the all-time greats at Martinsville.
You had to have a pit crew come through within 10 laps and have the perfect pit stop.
You had to beat Tony Stewart.
I don't care if he had no tires on his car.
You had to muscle Tony Stewart out of the way.
Good luck with that, right?
It was the most perfect win.
Oh, by the way, it came on a restart.
I'm not trolling.
I'm just saying it came on a restart.
Where he went fifth to second in one lap and then pass Tony Stewart with three to go.
Hey, Mike, he can drive.
He's a damn good driver.
I'm fired up.
He can do it.
You don't have to tell anybody.
They're all morons if they think anything else.
Junior wasn't reading off the script.
Junior was speaking from the heart.
And I'm going to tell you something.
Well, I think it was obvious if you heard it last week.
Yeah.
It was sincere.
Yeah.
I don't think there's any doubt about that.
Hey, one thing I want to ask you guys about is there's a guy that's racing for a championship who's in the points, has the points lead right now.
After the race, he was very gracious.
And he said, you know, he was happy that Hendrick Motorsports driver won.
He was happy that everybody could go home one, too, especially after the tragedy of 10 years ago and how important Martinsville is to everybody.
And he said, Dale Jr. drove a clean race.
He did, you could sense, Jeff Gordon have some mixed emotions about being out of line on one of those restarts and not being able to get back in line.
Just your thoughts on that.
That's racing, right?
I mean, even though you're racing for a championship, you can't pull over for a guy, you know, you've got to go win the race.
We actually caught him a little bit of a break the run before the last run.
We were going in a three, and we actually had a bumper inside of him in a three, and he started to come down.
And there was probably, what, 40, 50 to go at that point?
and we actually let him in.
Like, we didn't have to, and he was trying to muscles way in there.
We very easily could have kept our nose in there and shot him up the track,
and it would have been all on him.
But, you know, we were still trying to save our tires a little bit for the 50-lap run.
You could chew him up in 25 laps, so you want to save a little bit.
But, you know, he just, you know, it wasn't a time.
I mean, it was who wanted it more right there, and you just got to go get it, man.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
If he would have got to our bumper, we were going up to track.
Oh, he said it after the race.
He said I would have moved him.
Yeah.
I would expect for us to do the same as well.
I mean, why not?
Even if it was going.
Even if that would happen.
Can you imagine?
Can you imagine?
Just because they got yellow windshields, man.
Don't mean they can't be hit.
Exactly.
I don't make, I mean, we still deserve to win as much as they do.
But after the race, I mean, Jeff, just to be clear here,
Jeff wasn't upset.
He was honest about it, but he said, look, he said, I made a mistake on pit road.
And he said, ultimately,
That's what cost us the race.
He said, quote, I would have moved him for sure.
There's no doubt in my mind.
Everybody who's out there racing has to weigh risk versus reward for me to win this race.
It's worth taking a lot of risk, even if you upset your teammate.
No, yeah.
Yeah, I don't fault him at all for thinking that.
A lot of should have could have wood is in that sentence.
Yeah.
So anyway, it's pretty crazy stuff to see that.
Oh, and here's the other thing I was going to mention is, as I said earlier,
Somebody asked him, you know, are you in some ways grateful that Hendrick Motorsports really doesn't go by team orders from a philosophical standpoint since Junior 1 and Jeff finished second?
And he said yes and no, I would have liked to have had the win, but you don't want to do that because somebody moves over for you.
I think I said before, the only way I felt like you can work together as a team is cut somebody some slack a little bit.
If you're in the outside lane trying to get the inside lane, you know, just give and take a little bit.
I think it's a smart thing to do.
Yeah, I absolutely agree with that.
We don't ever go up to each other.
Obviously, if the right situation plays out, you try to help out where you can.
You know, Paladega Daytona.
You get lined up behind when your teammates at Varian.
You try to work with them.
But during the race, it's almost more hassle.
It makes your, there's almost like easier to mess up when you try to force a plan.
Yeah.
It's so much harder that way.
Well, and I think that everybody at the end of the race yesterday felt like they got the honest result.
Oh, yeah.
And that's really important.
I thought it was just a damn good day from that start.
I saw a lot of guys get some honest results.
What about Cain and Vickers?
Oh, how about that?
By far, one of the best races this year.
Not that we won, but as far as our whole race, it was probably one of the better shows.
Man, you can't beat short track racing, man.
You can't beat Martin'sville.
I mean, really, when Smoke won there a few years ago,
and he won five races in the chase, that race was insane.
Really, every year, especially in the chase with what's at stake,
you can't beat that place.
It's my favorite race.
It's different than Bristol, because at Bristol, you can't really.
use the bump and run like you can at Martinsville and stuff.
Martinsville, you can roll it down there.
It's just slow enough where you can get into each a little bit.
You don't have to clobber the guy to pass them.
You can just shoot them up a lane and turn underneath them.
I know there's probably mixed emotions too about starting 23rd and winning.
There's great emotions.
Man, we came back in the pack to win the thing.
You know, starting 23rd, and then there's obviously the other end of it,
which Dale Jr. has been very public about,
which is one of the top priorities going into next season outside of the communication with Greg
guys, it is qualifying better.
Yeah, it definitely makes Sunday easier, but obviously, we've proved it time and time again.
It don't, you know, qualifying don't pay.
Qualifying pays for the pit crew because we get a better spot on pit road and we get around people that, you know, you can work with.
The very first stop we had, the 13 was coming in behind us.
We stopped short.
Yeah.
And me and the front tire carrier, I mean, almost.
ran into each other head on and just had to take evasive maneuvers to get around them.
Yeah, I mean you come down there and drive the pit-bass car and stop real short?
Yeah, in all seriousness, Joe, that's important to you next year for sure.
Yeah, exactly.
And Martinsville, I mean, when I saw that, I'm like, man, it's tight.
It's tight.
And, yeah, it was bad.
I got a question.
Yes, sir.
Caution comes out with, what, 12 to go.
Let's be honest.
Let's not, let's not, you know, go in hindsight here and say, oh, no, this pitting for four is exactly what I've done.
Let's each take a turn.
Absolutely would have pitted.
Pitted for four?
Absolutely.
Taylor?
I felt a lot better.
And still feel good about winning.
Let me be honest with you.
I had to go and my wife was angry with me until Dale Jr. won the race.
It's a pretty funny story.
Dale Jr. saving marriages.
She did.
He did.
He saved the marriage.
I devoured the race, so I had to listen to live MRN because we had this function to go to.
And I said, I'm going to sit in the car.
You can be as mad as me as you want, but I'm going to sit in the car.
So I am freaking out at this point.
I said I'll be back in three minutes, about 25 minutes later after a red flag.
I came back.
And I'm thinking, man, because the guys on the broadcast, I think Striegel, one of the guys on MRN said,
man, I don't think you can pit here.
And then they go and they interviewed Stevie up on the box, and he said you got to pit here.
He's like, we have to take four tires.
And he expected Jeff Gordon and a few others, obviously, to also take four tires.
but you knew good and well that some guys were going to be out there on old tires,
and it could be a wreck and it could involve the 88 and all that.
So, yeah, I was freaking out.
I did think it was the right thing to do, Mike, but I was going crazy.
Well, how about you, Joe?
It was definitely the right thing to do.
Stevie has been bitten before by either taking two or taking none,
and he's learned throughout the years.
You've got to take Fort Martinsville.
You have to.
We did that.
We did that already.
Like last year or the year before, we stayed out.
We got run over.
And I came back.
Mike, Jr. won the race, and everybody started going crazy, and they were all excited, so I was off the hook.
I'm glad.
We were talking about the race, but then all of a sudden I got concerned about your marriage.
We're good.
We're going to tell you, I was really impressed with the conviction that Dale Jr. and Stevie had during that Red Flag when they were discussing it.
And they were so convicted of coming in and taking tires that I almost wondered if it was a ploy.
Like, I wondered if they would be like, of course we're coming to take four tires.
Why wouldn't we let that's absolutely what we're doing?
We were telling everybody that we're taking four tires.
And then I'm like, man, wouldn't you just know if they stay out here?
I want to salute West Coast gal 88 who tweets line by line, everything that happens between T.J.
Stevie and Dale Jr., but I can't hear that conviction because I'm reading it on Twitter.
But she did a good job of keeping me up to speed yesterday as well.
They never even questioned.
No, man.
They didn't even want to entertain the thought of staying out there in old tires.
And they said, Dale Jr. and Stevie said, hey, look, we get beat.
We're getting beat with the decision that we know is best.
That's the way it's just going to be.
If this is how we get beat, this is how we get beat.
But we're coming for tires.
The last question I got for you guys before we go to Reaction Theater is this,
is basically the goal moving forward to wreck the party.
Let's go win as many of these things as possible.
Let's wreck the party.
Let's go to Texas Motor Speedway.
Let's do it again.
Let's shoot some guns in the air.
Let's go out in the desert.
Let's rain on that chase parade.
Let's wreck the party.
Is that really kind of the goal right now?
Yeah, it has to be.
I mean, you're not in it, so you've got to do everything you can.
I don't mind it.
I don't mind it of it.
Yeah, we'll wreck the party and then we have a party until you see.
You keep your little flaggy trophy and you go do your New York tour.
We'll take our grandfather clock and our guns and whatever they give it homestead.
I don't even know.
Like a golf or something.
In the desert, they give a dolphin.
That'd be very interesting.
Oh, Homestead.
Oh, yeah.
Phoenix, they probably give a cactus.
Actually, Phoenix is a step above a plaque, I believe, in it?
Like a wood shape of Arizona or something?
Yeah.
It depends on who the sponsor is, too.
I got you.
Can we all agree the race that you guys have not won that you want to win as Charlotte now
that Martin's Phil is checked off?
Yeah, that's definitely on the last.
Leading off the last corner.
I mean, it was eluded us, too, quite a bit.
That's a great point, I think, because Dale Jr. has such an affection for old school races in the tracks that have such history.
Martinsville needed to be on his win list.
Let's just be honest.
And you know what?
I was thinking the same thing.
Charlotte, you're next.
In Darlington, let's go ahead and knock you out here in the next year or so.
I never really would have imagined that anyone would have said Darlington a year or two ago.
But they're good there.
It is good.
I want, I think Sonoma's creeping up on that list for me.
I'm telling you, man, we've been.
We've been running top seven there
Like at the end
We just have bad luck
Mike
You said what I said that before
No no no no you said
Wachens Glenn
I said a roadcourt
You but then you even went
Double down and you said Watkins
You put them in Canada
You can put it wherever you want
But June's got a roadcourn't
Sonoma would be great
Darwin's great
But Charlotte I think has to be next
No question about it
Yeah
Good stuff
It owes this one too
It's flirted
It's flirted
Yeah
Wreck the party and then have a party
Yeah

All right.
Let's hit it.
Let's hit it.
This is awesome.
We're coming into three for the last time.
Coming out of four, sugar with the lead.
We're getting to go to clock, baby.
Whoa!
It's been a hell of a year.
Even though we ain't in the chase, I'm proud.
Yeah, we got us a clock.
Yes. Have a good night, y'all.
Hell, yeah.
Now, that's a pretty good play by playoff.
That's awesome.
That's right.
It's a step below Dave Moody.
Alan Bestwick's in trouble.
Right.
I mean, Mike Joy, move over.
You know, it's funny.
Everybody, and I'm guilty as saying this, too.
We want a clock.
And really, there's like only one person that's actually walking out of here with the clock.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm thinking about that, man.
Well, they should give out a little replica trophy.
They should.
Did it make it to the house last night?
It's going today here.
Okay.
Because I saw it being box.
up in the hauler.
Yeah.
It's on, I think he just sent it
a sundowner to get it a little bit ago.
Can you know he's going to talk to that piece
every day?
He's like, hey, clock.
He said he wanted to put it,
right, as soon as you walk in the front door,
so you have to walk around it all the time.
Is this thing really going to doong and stuff?
Because that's where I'm going to draw the line.
It's going to don't.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
That's a great.
It's a good.
It's going to dig and dong, man.
All right.
All night long.
This is a bell yes singing, man.
I've been sick with a chest cold
for the last couple of days.
Well, I would sing a song for y'all, but I just can't do it this time.
But Dale Jr. winning the day.
Made us feel a whole lot better.
Gives a lot of hope for next season and we'll go out and win three more.
We know who the real champion is.
Dale Jr. in that 88 team, the hell yeah.
Dale yes.
Amanda, do we have the Dale yes song on file where we can play it?
It's one of those old calls.
I don't have it right now, no.
Oh, yeah.
We need to put that in.
Yeah.
I mean, if there's a time to sing Dale yes song.
Yes.
We need that.
We don't let no chest cold stop that.
Who's next?
You did it, man, you did it.
I got for my 26th so much.
I called out sick from work today, and you fucking won it, man.
You made it work.
Hell yeah.
That's really cool.
One other thing I wanted to mention is when Dale Jr. wins a race,
it really feels like a game-winning field goal between two top-10 teams
and some guys just made a 50-yarder at home to win a football game.
I mean, that's really the only other way I can say it.
Yeah.
Like a game winner, you know, in front of 100,000 people or something,
is kind of how it feels when Dale Jr. wins a race,
especially in a place like Martinsville.
Does it not?
Yeah, it's awesome.
I think all races should have the same victory lane they have there
where you're right in front of the stand so the fans can come down to the defense.
Yeah, they were loud, too.
They were awesome.
Normally.
Was it shaking, DJ?
Yeah.
First of all, you were a hauling the clock.
Yeah, it's going back to how maturity here.
Yeah.
Well, you don't talk about that.
Okay.
these, I don't even know what you want to call them,
but they decided to get into a rave concert or something there next to the clock.
Like a mosh pit.
Yeah, okay.
You got Dale Jr.
The team.
Yeah, well, Dale started it.
And then I am right next to the clock,
and I'm looking at the same like, man, this thing is rocking pretty good.
So I thought it was really going over.
So I start holding the clock.
This stage, that stage, if Martinsville,
anyone from Barnesville listens,
you might want to brace that thing a little bit more because I was scared.
That would have been pretty, I mean, I don't want the clock to break.
But it would have been pretty funny if, after all of us to talk about,
the clock.
The clock falls over.
I guess we'll go
go in another one.
I told a buddy of mine,
I said that clock,
if it actually makes it the junior's house
that night,
it'll be in nine pieces.
He doesn't have a prayer
of making it in one piece in the morning.
Who's next?
Dale Jr.,
could you please?
Is that Tim?
Yeah.
You sound great, Tim.
You sound great.
These calls are way different
than after Loudon Dover, man.
Yeah, they are a little different.
I told you.
I told you.
Everyone just needs to relax.
want you no more.
Don't tell me that Mr. Buffalo Bills fan.
Yeah.
Speaking of that Buffalo Bills.
Yeah, see, you're all fired up after you beat the Jets, but you weren't so fired up.
You know what I like red flags for?
I get a chance to check all that stuff out.
That's what we want to hear from our spotter 10 laps to go in a race that you might win.
Everybody needs to know what the Bills score is for sure.
All right, who's next?
Uh-oh.
Tick-Tock!
TikTok.
We got a grandfather clock.
Tick talk, tick to train some rolling rock.
I guess it's the clock.
Yeah.
Oh, I'm sorry.
That's not what I thought I was going to be, but there's a lot of effort.
Yeah, that took a lot.
Yeah, that was a lot of effort.
I mean, the clock sounds.
Where do you get that clock sounds?
We might have to end the podcast with that.
That was awesome.
That was tremendous.
Who's next?
That is a victory celebration of down.
A couple of calls from the track.
How about that?
Have you noticed that?
Oh, I love it.
Yeah, that's actually, that's a good idea, too, man.
You're in the burnout.
Extra points for that, for sure.
Who's next?
Hickering, dicker and dicker and dock,
to get this one the clock.
Hell yeah.
Yeah, our championship chase might be over with,
but damn it, we still can win the last.
This is number one.
Three more to go.
We can do this.
Damn yeah.
I love it.
Wreck the party.
I love it.
And nursery rhymes.
Yeah.
You got to be careful with clock because there's...
Yeah, there's a lot of things.
You got to be careful when you rhyme with clock.
You said talk earlier.
I like, hey, you know better.
You can't clock block us, can you?
Oh, good.
Goodness.
Amanda, you okay?
No clock blocking Amanda.
I'm used to it now.
Hey, no clock blocking.
And with that, let's go the next one.
Junior, Steve LaTart, all you guys and women over there at Dirty Moor Radio,
thank you for getting your shit together.
Junior, Junior, Junior, Dale, and one more for you.
Dizzle Yizzle.
Oh.
Glad he gave you some credit, Amanda.
All them women over there, he said.
Get your stuff together.
Get your stuff together.
Who's next?
About time.
I'm just actually speechless.
I can't believe.
This actually has happened.
I am so excited.
First time calling,
four beers.
I can't even say how much this means
for him to get the clock on this precious day.
Under Kendrick was so much.
Thank you so much for Dirty Moe and Junior.
You are fantastic.
Thank you.
I'll go ahead and tell you.
if her husband lights a canto and cooks her dinner tonight.
Yep.
It's happening.
I mean, I feel like...
Clock blocking.
I feel like...
I feel like this could be the beginning of a baby boom right here.
You know what I mean?
That would be funny if it on a year where Junior wins, at least four wins.
Like the...
More babies born?
Yeah, four babies were born.
The first time since 2004 would Junior 16 win?
We have reached the danger zone, ladies and gentlemen.
Who's next?
My by God, Dale, Jr. Dale call, and hell too.
So finally wins him at Grandfather Clock after coming close so many times.
Regardless of Marcus Ambrose and his dumb ass trying to screw things up,
I think he had a little too much freaking Vegemite.
It's a shame this came one week too late, but you know what?
It doesn't matter.
Four wins.
It's been a great season.
It's going to be even better when we get one or two more wins and screw up the chase for everybody else.
And if you're not down with Junior winning a grandfather clock,
I got two words for you.
Damn yeah!
I was worried about what those two words were going to be.
I was very worried about that.
Those were perfect.
Yeah, she, first of all, I don't think Marcus caused that wreck.
But I like it.
He was in it.
He was in it.
I like the veggie-mike-on.
Ray-John, Ray-John.
Don't try to bring rationale to this.
Just let him spring.
Who's next?
TikTok.
Kick-tok.
Junior God is fucking.
o'clock.
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
Way to go, Junior.
Way to go, everyone in the 18th.
This is awesome.
And I'm going to go with Junior in this one, too.
I'm going to drink me a lot of beer tonight.
Now, we know a few weeks ago, T.J. didn't really behave himself.
And we made a...
We ended up on the piano.
Made a big deal out of that.
Yep.
Dole.
Is there somebody particular that did not behave themselves last night?
that we need to give a shout out to?
You know, I didn't see anything really.
No, I...
Nobody got too wild?
Well, they can't get too crazy
because there was a lot of work to do this week.
They're going testing, you know,
50 wins and it was a pretty calm one.
Like the last one, Trish is on the bar dancing.
People were shaking up beer bottles and spraying them.
Really?
That was the last win, the last Pocono win.
Wow.
Trish was dancing.
Yeah, she was on the bar dancing.
That's why I thought we talked about that.
Holy, we did.
We have now.
I think Amanda took that out
But hey, whatever it goes, Joe
Keep that in Amanda
If you keep that in
There's probably the reason why she didn't come
It could have been
Probably the reason why she didn't make it to this one
All right, who's next?
Just got done listening to the race
On Sirius XM
And guess what, Mike Davis
I'm doing burnouts in my John Deere Tracker
So eat your heart out, buddy
Hell yeah
Martinsville clock
Let's go to Texas
And back it up with a
to win.
Can we get Dato on the stage if they win in Texas?
That's a great idea.
We really have to have that.
No, that'll happen.
Okay.
No, that'll happen.
If we win, Daddow's going to be the guy orchestrating that whole Victory Lane.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
Shout out, Dad.
I wonder if you can drive a school bus into Victory Lane.
We're about to find out.
We're about to find out.
Drive it up to it.
They like stuff like that out of there anyway.
Yeah, that's an Eddie Gossich movie.
Yeah, definitely.
For sure.
Yeah, we can get it up there.
Oh, if it hits this jump.
Through this ring of fire.
All right, one more.
I have a tribute to the 88 team.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Team 88 stars.
Mr. Hendrick, you're the man in charge.
Stevie Littark, you are the chief.
When you leave, it will cause us grief.
Then we have our two light of stars,
Dale Hornet Jr. and the 88 car.
Whether that car is loose or tight,
the 88 crew tries to make it right.
Up above the crowd so high,
DJ watches from the sky.
Twinkle,
Twinkle and TikTok,
Junior finally got his grandfather clock.
Dale, yeah, no beard.
Oh, she said talk.
Yeah.
Are we sure?
I don't know.
Are we sure?
When you're singing it,
it's dangerous.
That one took some time, too.
Yeah.
It's great.
The musical talent has resurfaced here on Reaction Theater.
How about this?
Oh, we have more reaction theater calls to come at the end of the show.
Yeah, we're going to play.
many like we did for the Pocono.
Oh, I love it.
Let's just put as many on the back end of this thing.
All right.
Well, we got to get one of the first ones in there again.
That was incredible.
Incredibly well done.
Reaction theater is open 24-7.
All you have to do is call toll-free 1-855-740902.
And leave us your voicemail message and we'll play the best each week right here on Dirty
Mo Radio.
Again, more reaction theater calls to come at the end of the show.
I want to give another shout out to our buddy Marty Smith,
who was phenomenal on Fast Lane Family last week,
which was great.
I enjoyed listening to that,
and he actually did some more on what he said on that with Kelly.
On his Twitter page, I guess.
But the story he did on Hendrick Motorsports from 10 years ago,
I mean, if that didn't make you emotional,
I don't know what will,
but what happened with the Hendrick tragedy,
unbelievably well done.
We were coming back from an appearance,
In Washington, North Carolina, this past week, we were at a Walmart on behalf of Diet Mountain Dew.
And we get in the airplane.
And I noticed that link on Twitter.
I guess it was Marty that it tweeted out or somebody did.
And so I opened it.
And then Dale noticed it, and he opened it.
And then Jake, our buddy who works at Hendrick, he opened it.
And all three of us are just sitting there with our own phones reading this story and nobody's saying a word.
And when we were done, we all looked at each other and we're like, wow, wow.
I mean, you know, Marty is a phenomenal writer, but boy, can he really put you in the shoes of somebody that's going through some, you know, some life circumstances and you can feel that emotion.
And, man, he hit it on the sweet spot.
Marty and I have a mutual friend that's trying to win a world championship with the San Francisco Giants this week.
And we were watching last week when he was pitching, and he had just done the interview that day with Mr. Hendrick.
And he said it was maybe the most emotional story he's ever done.
Yeah.
But he nailed it.
And I know a lot of people at Hendrick Motorsports are very, very proud of what happened yesterday,
but still, we always will be thinking of what happened 10 years ago on October the 24th.
All right.
Wednesday, watch out.
Our own Mike Davis will be Kelly's guest on Fast Lane Family, presented by Charlie Soap.
She's going to interview you.
I guess.
I don't know.
What do we going to talk about?
What do you think, Amanda?
Do you know?
Do you know what she's going to ask me?
Bring your wife in with this?
I think Sarah absolutely should be involved in that.
That might be fun.
Is that part of the plan?
I mean, I'll call Sarah right now.
I can make it happen.
Yeah.
Because, see, unlike Taylor and his wife, me and my wife get along right now.
Right.
Right.
No, everybody gets along fine.
She lets me watch races.
If Junior wouldn't have won, we would have been a trouble.
Friday, take a look behind the scenes of Junior Motorsports with J.R.
360, the podcast as well.
and on Mondays we recap the full weekend for the Junior Motorsports
Nationwide and Late Model teams and Dale's Sprint Cup series run
on the Monday recap presented by Spy.
One note to that, this Monday recap, if you didn't catch it,
we did something a little different.
We actually ran Dale Jr.'s full press conference
from his winners press conference at Martinville on the Monday recap this week.
So check that out.
I thought it was great audio.
It's 30 minutes long.
And you can find that, obviously, on Dale Jr.com.
And check it out there.
All right.
Let's throw the white flag.
White flag right there, white flag.
Monday was a recovery day for Joe Slingerlin and T.J. Majors.
Just like how I threw you guys.
Yeah, I appreciate that.
Because Tuesday and Wednesday, the 88 team is testing.
That's right.
They are going to Homestead Miami Speedway.
Because, I mean, would you really be surprised if we went down there and won that thing?
Because they finished third last year.
And arguably had the best car.
That's right.
That's right.
So they're going to test there for a couple days.
TJ, y'all got any plans?
No.
Okay.
All right.
Good stuff.
That's great.
You know, dynamite drop in there, T.
On Thursday, he's not the best color man in the business.
On Thursday, he's recording a special interview for a documentary that we will give you details about later.
I can't really elaborate on that, but it's going to be incredible.
On Friday, we'll be on our way to Texas for practice and qualifying.
There are a couple of public appearances to note for the weekend.
One is on Saturday.
Dale Jr. will be one of several drivers taking part in NASCAR youth autograph session near Gate 4.
that's at 1140 a.m. Texas time at Gate 4.
On Sunday, Dale Jr. will be on the Chevy stage at 1135 a.m. Texas time.
Hopefully that display area won't actually blow over like it did at Kansas a few weeks ago.
That was a big deal.
Yeah, with selling pitchers. That was crazy.
Dale Jr. will not be in Saturday's nationwide series race, but Kevin Harvick, Regan Smith, and Chase Elliott will be.
Joe, you're going to pit the five?
Yeah, I'm putting the five.
All right. Chase won the Texas race.
Chase won the last Texas race, and Kevin wins all the other ones.
So, Joe, you may be in Victory Lane there.
That race is Saturday at 3.30 p.m. Eastern time,
230 p.m. Central on ESPN 2.000.
And then on Sunday, Dale Jr. will be going for Cup win number five on the season.
You can catch that race at 3 p.m. Eastern, 2 p.m. Central on ESPN.
And one last thing that I don't have actually written down here,
but I wanted to make sure I mentioned.
This past weekend, we had a big announcement with goodies.
They, expanding their partnership with Dale Jr.
Dale Jr. is going to run a goodies car next year at Texas Motor Speedway
in the Xfinity series.
And also there's a video out there that was,
I don't know if you saw it, Taylor,
but it's really funny with Dale Jr.
interacting with fans on the streets of North Carolina.
And then also, Goody's has a promotion at fastest 88.com.
It's trivia questions.
If you think you know Dale Jr., let's see what you got.
Go to fastest 88.com.
I'm not going to call, I'm not going to predict the victory.
I certainly think there's a great chance to happen,
but I am going to guarantee a better finish than the last Texas race.
Oh, guaranteed.
You think so?
Yeah.
Do you think we will hit the infield grass for no apparent reason?
No.
I'm guaranteeing better than a 43rd finish this time.
Yeah, that was, well, there's nothing wrong with that guarantee, is there?
I really just hope we don't sit here on Monday.
We're talking about a lap one rack.
Because you guarantee it better than a 40th place finish.
And finally, I want to give a shout out to Jake.
Jake.
I want to give a shout out to Jake.
I told him that I would mail him my dirty Dale.
a t-shirt. I did not do that. Amanda
mailed him a clean one, and in return
he sent me a Minnesota Golden Gophers
T-shirt. So go-
Go-Gophers. Go-Govers. Look at there.
Go-Gophers. I love a golden gopher. That was my
high school mascot, man. I will wear that proudly.
Jake, thank you very much. Good
stuff here on the podcast this week.
Glad Dale Jr.'s got a clock. Everybody
can all the time, asking what time it is.
For Mike Davis, for T.J. Majors, for Joe Slingerland, for Dale and Art
Jr., for Amanda Troutman. Everybody.
I'm Taylor-Zarzer. You've been listening to the Dale
Junior Download presented by Spike.
There yeah!
This one, Martinsville.
I can't subscribe.
Amen.
Thank you to the 88 team.
Go Junior Nation.
TikTok!
I wish they could have a week ago.
Give us the chase.
Stevie, Bill, Guy.
Oh, that freaking tested.
After Talladega, we had one goal.
We went a clock at Martinsville.
What do we do?
We go to Martinsville.
We fulfill that goal.
We went a damn clock.
I've got one goal at beginning of every year.
And that goal is, when I punch up my address on Google Earth, my fucking pool isn't green as hell.
I can't do that.
Team 88, they come out, three bad races in a row.
Hey, win Martinsville Clock.
A Martinsville Clock, are you kidding me?
Hell yeah.
Hell yeah!
I'm drinking beer with all you guys all night.
Have a good one, boys.
You deserve it.
Holy Wiches.
I'd be more excited, but I've got a tummy full of beer and whiskey, and I've been running around
in circles in my apartment, and I just want to throw up.
I'm so excited by this team.
Dale yeah.
All right, I'm going to sit here at Martin'sville.
Welcome back to the truck after I watch Dale Jr.
went to Martin'sville.
After I watch Dale Jr., with him, Martin'sville.
Cootty Potter 500, and everybody's through with me,
and all we got to say is Dale Jr.
finally got that granddad clock, gets the clock,
and everybody's got to say is what?
Yeah.
Hey, y'all.
You from Dale, guys?
Hell, yeah.
What a win.
Actually, I haven't been drinking today, prize.
But just seeing Junior in Victory Lane in the interview,
what makes you so great and what makes him so easy to root for,
is just seeing how genuinely happy and excited he is and wins
and how much he cares about everyone.
You really don't see that from everyone else.
And then also a line, like, we're going to drink a lot of beer tonight.
You don't really hear people talk like that.
So it's great to see someone just be honest and genuine,
celebrate a victory the way it should be.
Enjoy tonight, guys.
Later.
Junior, maybe.
Way to go. Way to get that clock. I got some jerky and beer to celebrate.
So let's go for two. Let's run into Texas. Take care, bro. Bye.
Go damn. F***ing, yeah. I can't believe it, man. This season started out so good, and it got down to the end.
God Almighty, we just thought you were going to win it, and it didn't pan out.
But this man is so sweet. I hope you just damn, just are in love with that clock, man.
It is so cool, Jr.
I just can't believe it, dude.
That is so awesome.
You know, Stevie's last race at Martinsville, and we're going to miss him next year.
But you know what?
That's all right.
We're going to get that championship next year.
And just, whew!
Good afternoon, fellas.
This is the A from the Dale guys.
And I'm calling Reaction Theater after this year race.
I think I wore the batteries out of this year.
Dale called today.
And this is just the greatest win.
Oh, my goodness.
All right, this is one beer and a three-course bottle of wine into it.
All right.
Yeah, Dale.
Bumper's clear, clock's in the rear.
Tick-tok, tick-tok.
Dale Jr. finally got that clock.
Woo-hoo!
Yeah, baby, this feels good.
Dale Jr., he may be drinking a lot of beer tonight.
So I got to let you know.
Junior Nation, we're probably going to be drinking more beer, baby.
Dale, yeah.
Ten beers.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
I'm still shaking.
Oh, my God.
I've never in my life seen a finish like that.
I don't know whether the laugh or cry or whatever.
I've had two drinks.
And yes, I'm a little tipsy, but I am so excited.
I am out of breath.
Oh, my God, he won the clock.
He won the clock.
I've never, my wife wanted anybody to win the clock.
So bad of my wife.
Anyways, thank you.
