This is Dale Jr. and you're listening to Dirty Moe Radio.
You're now listening to the Dale Jr. download presented by Spy.
Check out Dale Jr.'s signature dirty mow sunglasses from Spy at Spyoptic.com.
Welcome to the Dale Jr. download presented by Spy. I am Mike Davis. I'm here with Amanda Wolfmeyer. What's up, Amanda?
Nothing. What's going on? Not much. Did you have a good off weekend?
I did. I was in the mountains, not near you, but...
I was in the mountains too. Same deal. Yeah. No cell service.
That's right.
No sales service.
We had an off weekend.
Dale Jr. still in Germany.
Actually, he's coming back today.
Going to be his first time here engaged.
That was big news last week.
A little bit, a little big.
A lot of people were asking,
are y'all going to do a Dale Jr. download about the engagement?
Like a special edition.
And honestly, we thought about it.
But we did a JRM 360 on the engagement,
so I figured, you know.
Anyways, congratulations to Dale and Amy.
A lot of going on there.
Anxious to see them and hear about the trip.
Martin Friedrich's going to stay a couple extra days,
but Kelly, Dell, LW, Amy, they're all coming back today.
So safe travels to them.
And today on the Dell Jr. download, I'm really looking forward to this.
And I hope you, the listeners, really enjoy this, because this is you guys.
We brought in fans from Junior Motorsports Fan Day a couple weeks ago,
and we interviewed them.
And these people really captivated us because we want to know about why they love Dell Jr.
what it is they do to support Dale Jr.
And we had a guy who came in with three of his buddies.
I think they drove overnight from Ohio.
No, it was Pennsylvania.
It was in Pennsylvania?
Okay.
They showed up.
We asked him, do y'all have girlfriends?
Yeah.
Why did you not bring your girlfriends?
We made them answer that question.
Like, why the buddies got to go, but the girls got left at home.
That was a funny conversation that we had with him.
We also interviewed a lady named Linda.
She's a youth minister, and she was here with a kid from her youth group.
and a very interesting lady, huge supporter of Dale Jr.
But what was so funny about her is she had a friend,
and she said that this friend's never going to believe that I'm in here on Dirty Moe Radio.
And I said, well, let's call her up.
And so we did.
I didn't even think she would answer.
She answered.
We talked to her.
You're going to want to hear that conversation.
It was very funny.
We also started telling some stories about Dale Jr.
I don't know how we got off on this tangent.
But TJ and I were talking.
about it and the lady was getting a kick out of some of our stories about Dell Jr.
There was the time at Texas that he got mad at me because of a little incident with Prilosec.
They also love giving me a hard time about this story from Michigan years ago when a guy
took a hat off my head and it sort of made me mad.
All Dale Jr. provoked too.
Yeah, Dale Jr. provoked it.
That lady really enjoyed that.
And then we also brought in a 15-year-old kid named Taylor.
Now, he's a huge Dale Jr. fan.
He was decked out in junior gear.
What was funny about him is we asked him who are some other drivers he likes and some other ones that he dislikes.
He's got a few that he likes, but boy, does he got an opinion about the ones he doesn't like.
And he does not mince words.
So you're going to want to listen to this kid.
This is all today on the Dell Jr. download.
Plus, Amanda, you compiled some of the best reaction theater calls that we'd had up and through the first half of the year.
And we've had some musical.
A lot of music, yeah, a lot of singers this year.
So we play some of those, some of our favorite ones.
So that's coming today on the Dale Jr. Download.
Before we get into this big Dale Jr. Download takes a nation segment, I want to tell you first about OMAs.
We told you last week about omaze.com forward slash Dale Jr.
And entering for your chance to ride shotgun with Dale.
Well, this is the last week to enter, so you better do it now.
You got to win.
So not only will you get a ride around Charlotte with Dale, but you also receive tickets to the fall Charlotte Xfinity and Sprint Cup races for you and a friend.
you'll get a pair of his exclusive race worn gloves signed by Dale
plus airfare and hotel they're all included
all donations from entering will go to the nationwide children's hospital
so go enter to win and help a great cause the website again is
omaze dot com that's O M-A-Z-E dot com
forward slash Dale Jr., D-A-L-E-J-R
and remember nationwide is on your side
let me tell you what we like to do
sometimes we like to surprise people
And it was the day before tax day, and I put out a tweet that said something like, you know, you got one day to do your taxes.
Maybe it was two days before.
I can't remember.
And I said, hey, everybody, don't forget to do your taxes with taxlayer.com if you haven't done them already.
And I had a gentleman reply to me and he says, hey, I did my tax layer.
I did my taxes with taxlayer.com.
Can I come to the 600?
Now, typically, that doesn't really work.
That doesn't get you to the 600.
I must have been feeling good that day.
I must have been a good morning, which means T.J. wasn't around.
Yeah, that's true.
And I said, yeah, you did your tax of a tax?
I didn't even have any way of, like, really seeing if he was telling the truth.
I just felt like it.
And he says, yeah, I want to come to $600.
I just did my taxes of a tax star.
I said, all right, you're in.
I'll get you hot passes.
And we've got him here.
He just showed up.
What's your name?
Brendan.
I just knew you as like, the missile.
That's your name on Twitter, right?
The missile?
The missile.
The missile.
From running fast.
From back in middle school.
Running fast playing football.
So, okay.
The missile from football.
So the missile here tweets me and says, hey, I just did my taxes with tax layer.
Can I come to the 600?
Me and my buddies want to come.
And I said, yeah, sure.
I'll get your hot passes.
Brandon, I guess I need to ask now.
Did you actually do your taxes with tax layer?
I honestly did.
I always look.
I'm only a science teacher, so I'm always looking for the best deal.
My salary's not the best.
And once I didn't compare the prices to, I forget who the previous service I was using, actually Tax Slayer was the cheapest.
So I figured, you know, they're one of Dale Jr's sponsors.
I might as well support them.
Thank you.
It literally paid off.
And look where it got you.
Yeah, got you to Charlotte.
I try to tell people, you know, do your taxes on the Tex-Slaher.
Use Helmins mayonnaise for your sandwiches.
Do something.
It could get you to the 600.
Wash it down with a pale ale.
Right.
Wash it down with a Dale's Pale Ale or a Diet Mountain Dew.
It might get you somewhere.
And in Brandon's case, he's now a testimonial to that.
Yeah.
You came from where, Brandon?
We're from like the Philadelphia, South New Jersey area.
I grew up 20 minutes from Pocono Raceway.
And we actually, I shouldn't say we haven't slept yet.
I've slept about two hours.
We left South Jersey at about quarter after nine last night.
And we just got to our campsite by the racetrack about an hour ago.
Wow.
My two friends here actually drove through tonight.
I kind of cheated and got two hours to sleep.
I just don't think they trusted me driving their pickup truck with their train.
Well, you are a science teacher.
You can't be trusted.
Well, I mean, trust you've done your job.
You got them the hot passes.
I mean, they ought to be able to drive, right?
That's the least I can do.
Yeah, we usually as a group, we kind of made an agreement that, you know, we love NASCAR,
and we try to go to a new track every year.
So this was our pick for this year.
We said, let's go somewhere within driving distance.
You know, it was a far drive, but it's usually well worth it.
We have a lot of stories to tell from every race weekend.
Do you have what happens in Charlotte's Day and Charlotte Agreement, too?
We said that.
Our girlfriends, I don't think we're too happy about it.
Hold on, let's say.
You got a girlfriend?
Yes.
Now, I hooked you up with three passes.
One for yourself.
Now, come on.
Why did they get your other two passes?
Is it not at least your girlfriend?
We're breaking them in slowly.
We took them to Richmond last year.
Oh, yeah.
Well, did it not go well?
Yeah, we told them, we said,
go have fun, have a girls weekend.
Is it snowing near Pocono or Philly?
It was cold.
It was 40 something.
You look like you're coming from like 40 degrees or something.
Look, dude, he's got his hoodie on.
It's fine.
It's fine.
Well, cool.
So you just rolled in.
You're here at Fan Day at Junior Motorsports.
Any big plans are going to the Speedway tonight?
We're probably going to do something every night.
You're camping at the Speedway, right?
Yes.
The outlaws run the night.
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Have you ever seen a sprint car race?
No.
Oh, I would absolutely go to the dirt track.
I would do that.
Yeah. Now, these buddies are yours, what's their names?
Joe and Dan.
Joe and Dan.
Are y'all like best friends?
We're good friends.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How do they make the cut?
Are your girlfriend's friends?
Yeah, I'm a girlfriend's friends.
Okay, that's good.
Their girlfriends are friends.
It's a long story.
So basically what we can assume is they're,
They are together and cussing you guys out right now as we speak.
Most likely, yeah.
Probably.
I would, too, if I was them, I'm telling you, you left them at the house.
I wish we could surprise call them.
We could, but is that a good idea?
No, he's like, I wouldn't advise that.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Considering that they didn't even know that they were coming into this studio,
I bet we probably shouldn't spring that on.
That would be a whole new reaction theater type.
Yeah, stuff.
Surprise calling people.
She could say, what, boyfriend?
I don't have a boyfriend.
I broke up with mine.
Uh-oh.
You hear some techno music in the background.
We just hang up.
They're not happy.
They're at work the way it is now, so I'm sure.
I wouldn't.
Adding fuel to the fire, it wouldn't be a good idea.
I do it all the time.
I'm good at that.
So you've gone to races before.
Have you ever had hot passes?
Not at all.
All right, so what are you expecting?
From everything I've read, it seems like it's once in a lifetime, you know,
something you can't put a price tag on.
You're going to be in the pit.
Right.
I mean, I've been in the pits at Pocono.
all that, but this seems like it takes it up a notch to the next level.
If Dale's leading the race, are you going to leave early after all that you've done to get here?
We might not be in any shape to drive.
That's a good answer.
That's a good answer.
Good point.
Well, it's good to have here, Brandon.
I'm going to get you those hot passes there upstairs, and we appreciate you using Tax Layer.
We really appreciate you using and supporting all of our sponsors because they're what makes this happen.
So, yeah, man.
And Brandon is an example of sometimes all it takes is a tweet and it'll get you to the 600.
You get a random action kindness from Mike.
Catch me on the right day, man.
Hope you guys enjoy the race and stay for the whole thing.
Listen, real quick, we are interviewing fans.
I don't know if you guys just came in or if you heard.
We're going to interview fans.
So if you guys came from a long ways away, if you've got questions for us, T.J. Majors is Dale Spotter.
He's here.
and we've got Linda in the studio right now.
I met Linda just a little while ago outside
because I'm going around interviewing for another deal,
Junior Nation Moms, the Moms of Junior Nation.
And Linda came up to me and said,
that's me, you're going to want to interview me.
She was very loud and proud,
and that's who we were looking for.
So I saw Linda in here as we were recording for Dirty Moe Radio,
and I say, hey, I need to talk to you.
You come on in here.
Linda, good to see it again.
Yes.
How are you?
I'm great.
No, I'm fantastic.
Why are you fantastic?
Because I'm here.
Junior Motors.
Oh, my gosh, yes.
She's sitting next to me, Mike.
Oh.
Yeah, but you just so you know, women usually fly out the door.
Yeah.
Yeah, don't go there.
Linda, you struck me as somebody that was super passionate for Dale Jr.
for Dale Jr.
You support all of our stuff.
Amanda, she knows everything about any podcast that we've put out on our TV.
That's awesome.
My only concern is that she's a fan of Martin.
Are you a fan of Martin Friedrich?
The German.
I like Martin.
I like what y'all do to Martin.
Oh, okay.
Well, that's okay.
You want to know something funny.
Speaking of which, J.R. 360 is something that Amanda and I do,
and it's a video on J.R.M.R.M.R.M.R.R.R.R.R.R.R.R.R.R.I.
and such, I was just five minutes ago, walking down the stairs,
and I see Chase Elliott.
Chase Elliott about a month ago sent me a text and he goes, you sly dog.
And that was all he said.
And I'm like, what are you talking about?
And he's like, I know you know.
And I'm like, I've got no idea what you're talking about.
And then it kind of got left like that.
So I just forgot about it.
He is in the stairwell and he goes, so here's what I was talking about my text.
I said, yeah, what was that about?
That was so weird.
You just like, you sly dog and you don't talk about it.
You don't tell me what you're talking about.
He goes, the truck team sent me text messages with just a bunch of
random questions that I had no business answering.
I didn't know why the truck team at Junior Motors was asking me.
And he goes, Mike Davis has got to be behind this.
They're pranking me.
And I said, no, I wouldn't do that to you.
And he goes, no, everything that happens is out of the ordinary.
Like if it just doesn't make sense on why, I just assumed that J.R.
360 is up to something.
And Amanda, I blame you.
I've only, now, wait a minute.
We're in like the fifth season of that.
I was only full time for the last one.
So I think your reputation was built before that.
Still blamable.
That's true.
But we even had a prank this week.
I mean, it's not one of these things that makes people cry or get fired.
But we prank to Elliot Mabe, one of the PR guys.
Actually, he's Chase Elliott's PR guy.
And that's on J.RMRacing.com right now.
Anyways, let's get back to Linda.
Yeah, tweeted you.
You tweeted me?
Yeah, I wanted to know, why was it going into the ladies' room in the first place?
That's a good point.
There's a whole argument behind that, too, which I think is going to be another episode.
We actually have another episode that's going to be coming.
Listen to this.
Lynn, I'm glad you brought that up.
We had a legitimate issue here at Junior Motorsports where the men were going into the women's restroom and using it as if it's their own.
And the women can't even get in there.
And Martin is to blame.
Elliot Maybiz, all these guys.
And so it became an argument between them of who leaves whose clothes in the women's restroom.
And I said, guys, we're not asking the right question here.
The right question is, why are either?
of you in the women's restroom to begin with.
And they look at me like I'm the weird one, right?
Martin says it's because it smells nice because there's popery and it's clean.
So why would he go to the men's room?
Maybe they don't have urnals in Germany.
I don't know.
Anyways, so Linda, you have that to look forward to.
Where are you from, Linda?
I'm from Ridgeway, Virginia.
Ridgeway, Virginia.
Now, Linda.
Oh, that's Martinsville area.
Martin'sville, four miles from the track.
Were you at Martinsville and Dell 1?
Yes, I was.
And Linda in the grandstands at Martinville, when Dale Jr. wins, acts how?
How did you?
How did you?
How?
Yeah.
Give us an example.
Oh, when he's coming around, come on, junior, come on, junior, come on.
And everybody else, everybody else over there in that section.
Well, Martinsville is Junior Nation anyway.
So they were with you.
Everybody's up, fist pumping, hollering, oh, gosh.
Hey, young man, I think that's first time he's ever seen me act that crazy.
Well, I did.
It's wild.
There's a young man in the studio named Austin, and he came with Linda.
and Linda, tell us what you do and why Austin is with you.
I'm a Juan's youth minister for Highland Baptist Church in Ridgeway, Virginia.
So she's a youth minister at a church, and yet when Kyle Busch gets into Dale Jr.,
what does the youth minister from Virginia act like?
Don't want to go there.
I don't think they heard me say any bad words.
I try not to say bad words.
Amanda, before we did our video interview out here, she says,
I got to remind myself not to say anything bad because I've got one of my youth here.
And so that to me was funny because we're out there asking what is a junior nation mom.
And I think that because of Linda, we've got one answer, like one characteristics.
And that is we've got to remind ourselves not to act like junior fans to the fullest.
Correct.
When we are out in public or when we have people that we're not supposed to be acting like that around.
You have to knowingly tell yourself, don't say this or don't say that.
TJ has no such filter.
I don't have a filter.
No.
Never have.
No, never will.
No, as we've already seen today.
I would appreciate it if you'd be on your P's and Q's now that I know there's a youth minister in the room.
I don't think that would stop it.
Are you feeling guilty about something?
I'm just asking.
I feel fine.
What do you think about T.J. as a spotter?
Would you like to confess?
I think he does a pretty good job.
Pretty good.
Yeah, pretty good.
Fantastic.
I liked that fantastic job.
Okay.
Fantastic job.
Hey, if Junior ain't fired him, you must be doing something right.
But do you listen to Del Jr.
on the radio.
That's true.
I do sometimes.
In Martinsville, I usually,
Tony Moon, where I can hear him on the scanner.
But I try to just listen to the MRN broadcasts
and just listen to the race
because I don't really want to know what's coming.
And you probably have youth around,
and you might not want them to always hear
what the Tudor's got to say.
Have you listened to them?
Have you listened to him about five or six years ago?
Oh, he used to be real bad back then.
Oh, I know.
Oh, he's so, like, tame now.
Have you ever listened to Dell Jr.
When he was getting mad at TJ?
Because that's like my favorite moments ever.
No, no.
He used to live for that moments.
When he traveled every week, he would just wait for Junior to get angry one time.
And the bad part is I didn't even do anything wrong.
He's mad at the car not handling, right?
He's picking it out on me.
I've been on that, too.
He got mad at me during a race at Texas in 2005, 6, and I'm like the PR guy there.
Like, why are you even thinking about me during a race, right?
But here's what happened.
I'll tell the stories.
Do you remember this?
Oh, yeah.
Dale Jr. is in a race at Texas, and he's running terrible.
And he also has a stomachache.
So during caution, he says, hey, Mike Davis, go get a, go to Jeff Burton's holler and get a Prylosec.
I remember that.
Put it in a bottle, you know, so I can take this under a caution when I pit.
I guess Jeff Burton was sponsored by Prylosec.
Is Prilosec what I'm talking about?
Yeah, like that.
It's the 31 car.
It's the purple car.
The 31 car.
Yeah.
Because at the time, I didn't know, like, why is Jeff Burton?
Like, why not the infield care center or something that might have this stuff?
But Jeff Burton.
So here it is.
I'm over at the 31 hauler asking their truck driver for Prylosek.
He's looking at me weird.
Long and short, I was able to get some, right?
And I pring it back.
This is when we were still with the Bud team at DEI.
And I gave it to Jay Gwynery.
Jay is on Kurt Busch's team now?
Yeah, he was.
Jay was the interior guy.
Yeah.
Jake Winery was our interior guy.
So I said, here's the Prylosek the junior's asked for.
He rigs it up in a bottle.
junior pits they give it to him he takes it well the prylosex sticks to the bottom of the bottle so basically he just downs all this water but no medicine
and he gets on to me about it and it made me so mad and and uh he's like mike davis i gave me one job
one job as it turns out he started performing better and we ended up like third or fourth so he was feeling good about it and after the race he's like
yeah third or fourth and i'm like we're not talking just so you know i'm mad yeah
That was the one time.
He used to get, it used to be a competition sometimes on who, whether I could get
Junior to get Jr. to start a fight with me.
And he would usually pick one of us and would argue for no reason, really, just because
that's how he used to be.
Yeah, we used to manufacture arguments.
We used to ride the car all the time together, so we would always be in there together.
And if I could instigate something between him and Mike, I would.
And I've seen Mike sit there so mad.
He wouldn't even talk a couple times.
I've been mad a couple times.
The most mad I ever got, T.J.
Were you there at the helipad of Michigan?
Yeah, where that guy took your hat?
There was a...
Do you remember?
I'm sure you'll remember this.
I was right there the whole time.
Dale Jr. ran a paint scheme for Budweiser that was like this old school paint scheme.
And it was like a cream-colored car with like the red bow tie on.
And it looked like the eight was like his...
Like 350 cubic inch on the hood, stuff like that.
Right.
And it was like the old eight like Ralph Earnhardt used to run.
And we had these vintage-looking hats.
that we had for that weekend.
And I had one on my head.
And there was this drunk guy out at the helipad that wanted to take it from me.
We used to stay by the helipads.
There was fans that were surrounded, too.
They were right up against the fence.
So they're all there, and we were really close to them.
Yeah.
And he comes out and he's like, hey, give me your hat.
And I said, no, thank you.
And Junior's like, and he got kept on, he kept on and kept on.
And Junior finally gets in there and says, hey, man, leave him alone.
This is his hat.
But he's got four in his bag just like it, which I,
didn't. The guy
grabbed the hat and he takes my hat right off my head
which I just, I lost it at that point.
They still bring that up.
It was so, I was almost in tears
laughing. It was that funny.
They said you were really mad.
I've heard that story.
I didn't know this at the time, but I guess if you take a hat
off my head without me like telling you
to. I mean, it was a cool hat though.
You don't run vintage schemes like that very
off of. They're really like, that's what I've
authentic and that guy took it right off his head.
I didn't want to give it to him.
Anyways, Linda, let's talk more about you.
I know. I kind of like the story.
I brought you in here to talk about you, not us, not and how we get mad at everybody.
So we did this interview with you.
You really struck me as somebody that's super passionate.
And the thing that really struck me about Linda, and I've got this from several people that we've interviewed, mothers who are junior fans.
And that is, they're not just loyal to Dale.
They're not just passionate for Dale, but they honestly had this, like, the same emotional connection to Dale that a mother would have.
for a son.
Yeah.
Am I accurate?
Yes, very accurate.
So in other words, when Dale wins Talladega and Dale gets a little emotional and victory
lane and everything, then Linda's getting emotional.
Oh, very emotional.
And when Dale crashes, it's not, oh, we're having a bad points day.
It's you actually concerned about his well-being and is he okay, just like a mother would.
It's just like family.
And why is that?
How did you get to that point?
I really, really, really don't know.
My son is in the Navy, and he's deployed.
right now and he's over in guam he's a submariner and um i don't get to see him a lot so i kind of
explained um that the whole nascar junior jr motorsports you guys here are are like one big family
to us looking from the outside end and junior getting to see him every weekend he's now periscoping
he takes us right in there to every place with him so i mean he's here he's he's he's he's
like a part of the family.
Watched dad when I was younger.
So I was a senior fan.
It's been easy to transfer over.
And you just have watched, I've watched him evolve.
And from sons, like a young, arrogant kid.
I can say that because I'm a lot older than him, to a very mature.
I mean, you couldn't ask for a better kid of being your own.
You know, and I'm very passionate.
There you go.
I mean, his family.
He's a good guy.
Like, from my point of view, when I moved in 2001, he got him to move down here from New York,
and he invited me and introduced me to his whole family.
I mean, I didn't have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving, so he'd take me with him.
I'd go eat with his whole family, and they treated me like their own.
Well, Linda, thank you for being here.
I appreciate it.
Austin, thank you for coming with Linda.
And we hope you enjoy your day.
You said that there would be a coworker that would be a coworker that would,
when she hears this.
She's going to, is it a coworker you said?
Oh, yeah.
I've already, I've already sent pictures.
And she said, let me, can I read a message that she sent back to me?
Absolutely.
I sent the pictures that.
Do we need to call her?
Oh, my God.
She would freak out.
Can we make that happen?
She says, oh, my gosh, you got interviewed.
That's so crazy, L.O.L.
Let's just call her, not tell.
Let's just call.
Let's just call her.
Let's say you're on Dirtymo Radio.
What's her name?
Courtney.
Courtney?
Courtney.
Is she Adel Jr.
fan?
Or?
You know, this is what's so awesome about this whole NASCAR experience.
You know, I'm such a fan addict.
And we work so close together.
We work in a Treasury Department.
And she knew nothing about NASCAR.
And then repeatedly, day after day, because that's how much I eat, you know, everything,
day after day, started sharing stuff, the podcast, the videos on the JMR 360.
everything.
Showed her the tweeting,
because I've done got all y'all linked up
where I could follow y'all.
And then the periscopin.
And she is not only
an ASCAR fan now.
She is a Dale yeah.
Good for her.
I got to share this one thing with you.
She woke up
saw the Bojangles commercial
with Junior, and she
comes up out of the bed,
and she's hollering,
Dale, yeah.
And her husband is laying over there,
and he don't have any idea
what this woman.
She's kind of possessed.
He's probably worried about her.
And then she had to explain it to him.
Well, let's show Amanda her phone number.
Yeah, we don't want to say it over the speaker.
And let's just call her.
Do you think she'll answer?
Think we can get her a door bumper clear from now on?
Don't give her a heads up.
See if she answers.
Because if she doesn't answer, then you hold that against her.
Yeah.
What if we just made a show of just calling people that didn't know?
I surprised them.
I brought that up before.
She will die, y'all.
I am.
And y'all, she is going to die.
Like Pamela.
Yeah.
It's called Tamela.
Oh, no, no, no.
That just backfired on T.J.
Yeah, we're not doing that.
Tamla's T.J.'
It's the top one.
Don't call the bottom when it's her husband.
The very top one.
Okay.
Maybe we do want to call her husband.
He's a big guy.
I think he said, on the phone, I'm not worried about that.
Ex football player or something like that.
Yeah.
We got Martin upstairs.
No, he's a lot bigger than Martin.
Okay.
Well, we got Martin and Mike.
What's her name again?
Courtney.
All right.
What are the chances she answers here?
What do you have in your phone as?
Pretty good.
Does she know what this is?
You have a nickname for?
Like Courtney Bear, Carebear.
I have my job.
Hey, Courtney.
Courtney.
Courtney.
Courtney, can you hear us?
Courtney.
This is Linda.
Can you hear us?
Yeah.
Guess where we're at, girl?
Where?
Take a guess.
Where are you?
Where of all places would just make my life.
With you.
Well?
No, not that.
Close.
All right, listen to the voice.
Courtney, you're on Dirty Moe radio right now.
We're just going to be honest with you.
Oh, my God.
Oh, no.
So, one, we weren't sure if you were going to answer, but now that you passed that test,
now we just said we wanted to talk to you because Linda here's been arrested and we need bail money.
Yeah.
I knew it.
I knew it.
I called it.
And we're going to need you to explain it to the Awana program and the youth ministry that she's involved with and why their leader is now.
out in jail. She was just unruly here at Junior Motorsports. She attacked Dale. You were the
first caller that she recommended we call. She said you got money.
Yeah, because she is a complete phonetic. She is on Dirtymore Radio. She sees all your pranks.
We watch them. We rarely weren't. It's horrible.
It's horrible. She's told us all about how you weren't a race fan before, but now you are.
That's TJ Major.
And now I am. I have an app on my phone. I mean, it's crazy.
Nice. That's good to hear.
We love you, Courtney.
Oh, she is so stoked. I know she is.
Well, yeah, I'm glad to have you on here.
Glad we surprised you.
Yeah, how's your day going?
I'm Mike Davis.
Now she loves you.
Geez, thanks a lot.
He's always on here.
Thanks.
You randomly come in and out.
I go to the racetrack and work.
You're at the racetrack.
He rides tractors on the weekends.
You watch a periscope everything.
Just periscope everything.
I don't know about everything, Courtney, but I mean, we appreciate it.
We heard that you like to say Dale yeah a lot.
Yeah.
I do.
Let's hear it.
Let's hear your best one.
Dale yell.
Pretty good.
That's pretty good.
Not going to lie.
Well, Courtney, thank you.
We just wanted to give you a call and say we appreciate it.
We got Lyndon.
She's not really in jail.
We've been having a lot of fun with her today.
You're going to probably see her basically on every video that we have,
and then every podcast we have, she's really impressive on her passion.
So we wanted to call.
I'm going to call it out now.
And we're going to prank you.
We're thinking of a prank to you, too.
A fan prank.
A fan prank.
I like that.
I like that idea, too.
Let me know if you did any help.
Hey, Courtney.
Okay.
Hey, Courtney, I'm going to say, is you can try, but be ready for the retaliation.
We're going to do it.
He has to find his, don't it, Courtney.
That's right.
Oh, I can find you.
You said Ridgeway.
It's not that far away.
We didn't say where we lived everywhere.
You're not going to be hard to find.
Population 20.
All right.
Thank you, Courtney.
You can go back to what we were doing.
Sorry, we interrupted you.
Maybe I'll see you in Martinsville.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
All right, Linda.
Well, thank you again for coming in here.
Thank you.
She sounded like a lot of fun, just like you.
She sounded skeptical at first there, didn't she?
She wasn't too sure of it.
Linda, enjoy your rest of the day.
Appreciate everything you've done for us.
And you continue to support us.
Such a thrill to meet you.
to your son too for serving it's a memorial day
week yeah that's right yeah he's on a submarine
well he's in guam
right now he's in guam yeah
he hadn't got the boat hadn't got over there to pick him up

I appreciate that all right hey guys if there's anybody else out here
this is this young man in the blue shirt
right here I told him I might want to talk to him
yeah come on in let's bring this old handsome young man in here
he's decked out listen if I see a young man where
and all this Dell Junior gear, I got to talk to them.
You know, this is the next generation of Junior Nation right here.
What's your name, bud?
Taylor Garrett.
Taylor Garrett.
Right on.
How old are you?
I'm 15.
Man, I don't even need to ask you who your favorite driver is.
Yeah, I know, unless you're trying to slit off some secret message here.
Yeah, he loves Junior.
Got him a nationwide hat.
Is that a new hat or have you had it?
This is a, I just, I had it since I ordered off line at the beginning of the year.
Did you?
Yeah.
Dedication.
That is.
Yeah.
I'm telling you.
And who you're here with today?
I'm here with my dad.
Where's he?
Right there.
Well, we should have brought dad in, too.
You can come on in.
You don't have to leave him out.
Yeah.
And where are you from?
I'm from Gastonia.
Okay, so just down the road.
Yeah.
Right on.
So is this your first time to junior motorsports?
You've been here before.
This is my first time.
What do you think?
That's cool.
Really?
Yeah.
You got some race car driving in your future, and what do you think?
Can you do it?
Yes, I could.
Oh, really?
Yes.
Dad, you got money?
Because that's usually.
Yeah.
He's shaking his head.
Well, cool.
So you're 15?
Yeah.
What grade does that put you in?
Nice.
Right.
I hear you.
Play sports?
What are your hobbies?
He wants to race, man.
Racing.
Yeah, they don't really play sports.
He just loves racing.
Have you been to any races?
The 600 to pass three years.
Right on.
You're going this weekend?
Yes.
All right, you'll get Dale Jr. win for us?
Hopefully.
Kind of putting it on you now.
Yeah, it's all up to you.
A couple years ago, if you were there, then he almost won it and ran out of gas.
I know.
Could have run out there and pushed him a little bit, couldn't you?
I wasn't there that time.
I was watching on TV.
Yeah.
You're probably glad you're running out then, aren't you?
No, he wasn't there for it.
How long have you been a junior fan?
Since I started watching racing, which is probably about since 2008, 2009.
And why is Dale Jr. your favorite driver?
I'm not really sure about that question.
He just, is your dad?
Like, I started off, like, watching, like, learn about Dell Senior and everything,
and learn about Dale Jr.
That's right.
And he liked Jimmy Johnson.
Uh-oh, Dad likes Jimmy Johnson.
Time to go, Dad.
On Junior Motorsport, now I know why you left him out.
Yeah, now I know.
Yeah, that's right.
Truth is, we like Jimmy Johnson, too.
I just don't see any of it.
Junior Motorsports fan day, although Jimmy has driven for the company before.
Yeah, once?
Twice.
Twice.
Walkins Glen and Phoenix.
Phoenix had just done that repave and that reconfiguration.
They were trying to get him more track time with the...
They were trying to get Jimmy Johnson more track time.
Yeah, like he's a rookie.
Seven-time champion.
a little more track time.
Just not getting it done.
Yep.
Everywhere else.
Yep.
So, yeah, it's okay.
You can stay.
Jimmy Johnson has actually been a junior motorsports driver.
But, well, it's just, I mean, this isn't Jimmy Johnson.
This is Dale Jr.'s place, right?
Yes.
So now that you're at the shop, do you have any questions about how the place works
or anything racing with the racetrack-wise?
I go every week.
He's been a lot.
I know you go every week.
I do, yeah.
Do you listen to TJ on the scanner?
Yes.
Maybe you get me out of every week.
You want a spot.
Sure.
He might be better.
So let's see.
What else can we ask you?
Who are some drivers you don't like?
Brad Kislauski.
Whoa, Brad Kislauski.
Now, you know Brad Kislauski and T.J. are pretty tight.
They're buddies.
One of my good friends.
We're all tight with him, but this is his best friend now.
The most driver I can't stand is Joe Lugano.
So you're not going to be over at Pinski today.
Is that what you're saying?
The only reason why I don't like Ligano is because he won a 500 when Junior should have won.
That's right.
I'm with you, buddy.
You're my man.
I'm telling you what.
He's the one that's got this thing figured out.
Do you hate McMurray?
No, he's not all right, though.
You know, we finished second, like two or three years in a row there,
so do you not like all them guys are finishing from this?
McMurray's not arrogant.
McMurray's not arrogant because Lovsky and Lugano, we don't like them.
We don't like their attitude, T.J.
Yeah, anyway.
So, Brad, Joey, are you okay with Kyle Busch?
Yeah.
I hated to see him get hurt.
Yeah.
They told her wreck.
That's absolutely the truth.
Absolutely the truth.
Kurt Busch.
Yeah.
I like Kurt.
Yeah, I like Kurt.
Danica?
Yeah.
You like Danica.
Yeah, I like Danica.
I mean, he's 15 years old.
I mean, come on.
Cool.
Hey, buddy.
Thank you for coming here.
Did you get autographs?
Yes.
I didn't get in the line, but I got those postcards that they gave out.
Good for you.
Yeah.
Good for you.
You having a fun time?
The shop?
Yeah, I like the shop.
It's pretty cool, huh?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
It's why you got Dad with you, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just point to what you want.
Dad will buy it.
So you guys going back home today?
Oh, okay.
Speed Street tonight.
I got, um...
That's cool.
I was going to go tomorrow, but Austin Dillon's going to be there tonight.
It does.
Speed Street?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You like Austin Dill?
Yeah.
You're going to get an autograph with him if you can.
Yeah, I'm going to try.
If you see him, ask him why he got so serious in the DMBL or basketball league.
Just be like, why are you so serious when you play basketball?
I'll say that.
No, no, no.
That's not the question.
Say, why did you get kicked out of our basketball league?
And that's better.
Yeah, ask them why you got kicked out of the dinner's basketball.
Yeah.
Yes.
All right.
But it sounds like you just like Chevroleses.
Is that right?
Yes, I do like Chevroleses.
Good for you.
I do not like Ford.
I can't stand on.
I kind of card to you guys.
I guess that's why they call them.
You got Chevy?
Found on Road Dead.
Found on Road Dead.
That's what Fort St.
I had to make sure they had a Chevy.
We need him.
We need him around here more often.
Good for you.
You know what their response to that is, right?
What?
First on race day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I haven't seen much of that.
That's only rolling downhill was another one.
Where'd you learn that one at?
My grandpa, Eric.
That is.
That is.
That's awesome.
Good for you.
Yeah.
Awesome.
Thank you for coming, man.
Yeah, thank you.
Yeah, good seeing you, man.
Hope you guys have a good day today, man.
Oh, I will.
Really appreciate the people that came in here to Junior Motors,
fan day and spoke with us on dirty moe radio.
Mike, did you know that this past weekend was officially the start of summer?
I did.
I thought about you and Taylor.
Yeah, and it was also the longest day of the year, which means it was like sunny for most
of the day.
And I know where you want to go with this because it was really bright out there in the
mountains where I was.
Was it for you?
Yeah, we had a few showers that rolled in, but right after that, and immediately the sun came
out.
And when I heard somebody say it was summer solstice on the news, I thought, oh, my God,
Taylor and Mike, I was expecting.
a text message or a tweet or something.
If I had service, I would have totally texted you and say,
now, Amanda, it's summer.
You've been trying to make it summer for the last two months.
I just like wearing these sunglasses.
There you go.
I just like them.
But if you want to go and get you a new pair of spy optic sunglasses,

No beers, but I do have a cold.
That was from Vegas.
Vegas show.
What was the, remind us, what,
What was the situation?
We took two tires and it didn't work?
I think that was the case, yeah.
Okay.
And I'm assuming Kevin won.
Yeah, yeah, he did.
In the Jimmy John's car.
That's right.
And Jimmy apparently didn't have a good day.
Yep.
What else we got?
Go, junior, go, junior, go, go, go, go, go, yo.
So we blew a tire.
Gonna keep our cool, even though we're on fire.
Fontana, maybe Martin'sville.
Gonna get that wins.
I have a brew and chill.
Another chips ain't down.
Gonna keep our composure,
because we got a strong team and we ain't no folders, DNF.
Yeah, they suck I know, but junior nation's still saying, go, 88, go, Dale, yeah, no beers.
Fontana, is that what that was?
That was Phoenix.
Phoenix, okay.
All right, oh, we blew the tire when he stopped on pit road.
That's right.
Yep, pretty creative.
Yeah, I keep finding myself tapping my feet.
That's important.
Some good beats.
Yeah.
What else we got?
Because he's biffle.

because there was two of them in there.
I think that's his wife.
That's his wife.
Don't you remember, T.J.?
But there's two.
I don't know if 15 beers were just for one person, or is that between both?
If I know submarine Mike, it's probably just for him.
He doesn't account for anybody else's beer consumption.
Yeah, you're right.
What else we got?
The Delia kid was somebody we met from Pocono.
Last year when Junior was winning, he went nuts up in the ground.
stands and we noticed his hat.
He lost his hat and all.
And he had the Delia, Dirty Movedo shirt.
We got him on the show.
We sent him to the next Pocono race that he, the junior again won.
And so the Delia kid actually came down here to Junior Motorsports not too long ago.
We met him here, and it was a lot of fun.
I like him.
He doesn't like Danny.
I like him.
That's right.
I can't hear you.
Look about him and can't hold his pee.

to the bathroom.
I don't know.
You're the only one that talks about it.
Because I admit it.
Yeah, that's good.
Admitting is the first step, right?
That's true.
It's a long race.
It is.
And you've got a small bladder.
Imagine the 600 is weekend.
Yeah, it's a rough one for you.
Yo, Mike Davis, let's kick it.

And we'll be back next week recapping Sonoma.
Where you got a prediction?
I hate, I don't know if I call a win or not.
I just don't know.
We're real here.
We're not going to call a win.
We're not going to call it a top two.
Oh.
No, we'll see.
We'll hope he just keeps it on the black top and let the speed do the talking.
Let the driver do the talking.
So that's it.
For Amanda Wolfmeyer, I'm Mike Davis.
