The following is a production of Dirty Mo Media.
Oh, yeah, this is what it's going to be, girl.
We're going to hang out.
Open a bunch of jars.
You've got big strong hands.
Are you suffering from High Craft?
I'm working.
Working that mouth.
Hey, guys, welcome to the Dirty Moe Media Studio.
Dale and I are excited for a show.
Dale's really excited.
He's got all brown on today.
He's matching.
He's matching.
He's in the crapper.
He's matching
He's matching in all brown
I mean he either matches in brown or black though
It's not like he's ever rocking
Bulls sometimes he's wearing all orange
Oh that's true
Are you with us?
I am I never thought I would be
Getting so much
Analyization of my attire
Thank you for not wearing white socks
Yeah I mean they are even also tan
Yeah I know I like it
Tan tan what are you
reading. I'm trying to see if I can find a
a
2024 King Griffey Jr. Chrome
autograph. Are we not
going to do this show? Oh my God.
I'm a big King Griffey Jr. fan.
Gosh, his cards are awesome. Okay.
I've been sitting here for
35, 40 minutes waiting on you to get here.
So I've been buying some cards.
Sorry for waiting. I had to put on my
brooch. I noticed
you've been so... The ferret.
All right. The ferret. Okay.
It's feathers.
What is this?
It's just a big feather brooch.
And you're walking around all day with that thing on?
Maybe, especially since I'm getting so much attention.
So...
I wore one the other night to an event.
You did.
I had shopped for...
You must have gotten a lot of compliments.
For this very specific outfit.
The theme was like woodland jewel tone.
So like I really went with a theme.
Everybody kind of does that.
Your outfit for the event the other night was over the top.
in a good way.
Okay.
I mean,
you guys ought to see this.
I got videos of her.
She's got videos on her phone.
They went to a bar after.
And it looks like,
I'm not going to help you.
It's a way more fun
when you try to find the words.
It looks like it's that very stiff.
What was it?
A fabric.
It was like silk brocade.
It was like a tapestry kind of.
But I also had a big feather brooch on.
And yeah,
I got some,
You must have got a lot of compliments because you're wearing another one today just in the regular.
Well, I ordered this one.
Just out in the world.
Just in case it went with the outfit with the other one matched with.
But I did notice some comments in my DMs last night.
I was going to bed and I was just trolling my phone.
Trolling the trolls basically.
There's lots of comments about everything, but there was one lady in particular who did not like my outfit.
Whoa.
And she told me that I was tacky and that I needed to get some better clothes.
Damn.
And so I wore this today.
for her. Hopefully she'll see this one too. This is
for her. All right. But also
it's fun. It's like it's fun. It kind of tickles your face.
You want to touch it, don't you?
It reminds you of your cheerleading days.
Kind of. Yeah. Okay.
Makes me feel joy,
you know? Yeah. Little feathers on your
on your shirt. I mean, I could be wearing all brown.
So is this now like in the jewelry category, Dale?
No. No, because it's not. No, don't do that.
We're having a good day.
Having a good day.
Feathers all day.
That's it.
Yeah.
Hey, that's interesting.
Okay.
Well, maybe I'll get some more.
The other ones that I have matches our commanders,
clover, so I could just wear that on game day.
Do you get a lot of people talking to you in your social media?
Yeah, there's a few.
And it's inconsistent.
It's never like after something that should be expected.
You know what I like to do?
So I feel like it's just, it doesn't, it does not hurt my feelings.
It doesn't insult me.
I find it to be humorous enough where I'm like, oh, really?
Gloria, here's another one.
So, you know what I mean?
Check on this pop pop.
I don't know if you can do this on Instagram,
but I love doing this,
and they have no idea.
So if I see somebody say something
that I don't like on one of my posts
and I go and they follow me,
I block them and then unblock them.
And that kicks them off the follow.
Oh, it does?
Yeah.
I don't even know those rules.
I don't block anybody.
I block them to remove them from following me
and then I unblock them.
So now they're not blocked.
But they don't know that you did that too.
I didn't know that it disconnected you like that.
They have no idea that they're not following me anymore.
Because usually people then will like post, oh, they blocked me.
It's kind of like saying, all right, fine, man.
Just, you know, you get on out of the room.
You can mute people too.
Someone in the retail store, I think.
We got somebody in shop.
They need to wake up.
That's got an alarm.
Maybe a King Griffey Jr. card on eBay is about to go off.
I'll go when you're right.
Yes, I got two minutes left.
See, I hit the mute button.
Set an alarm.
Yeah, the mute button because then it's very safe.
They're still tweeting at me, but I don't even see it.
Nobody sees it.
Nobody gets their feelings hurt.
And then the other person can keep yakking.
Yeah.
And they think they're getting to you and they're really not getting anywhere.
Well, if they're, if they're,
they like the severance.
He's playing my game with them.
I like the severance.
We're down here.
If they aren't following me and they don't know because they've not
unfollowed me so they had no idea they're not following me but then they're seeing less
to my posts so they're less likely to come back and talk more shit I mean it makes sense I just
didn't know you could do that I don't like to block them because they love that oh yeah
they love it it's like a badge of honor then they're posting pictures of Dale's blocked me he's
you know he's where do you see that oh they'll screenshot the block and posted he's it's
he can't handle it I'm just like you know what I just let's just not follow him and people
that like you're searching it but no it's in the for you it will just show up if they're talking
about you so like people like well why you search your name like no it it just showed up on my
algorithm feet like I'm not looking for it but there's also so many people that will comment
or send you a message and ask you questions or it's usually really nice but everyone's why you go
a salty one and it's pretty fun I saw a really funny tweet from somebody today just sent it to me
in my algorithm it just popped up in my for you and I sent it to you you saw it's car
oh yeah looking up what is it it's hilarious I sent it to
the host of our,
apparently sent it to you.
I don't get on Twitter.
I know you don't.
I don't even know how to log in right now.
I think I'm logged out.
Bugs,
when you lift up a rock and it's his gaze
looking up at this guy.
That is pretty funny.
At least he's got a pleasant look on his face.
He's not mad at it.
I mean,
maybe that's what bugs are doing.
The earth is up.
I said it to Hosevar.
He's got a good sense of humor.
I wouldn't be shocked if he responds to it.
I wouldn't either.
Yeah.
I like that kind of stuff happening.
So if you saw that, though, and it was your face,
would you feel like somebody was calling you a bug,
or is it just about the looking at?
I'm jealous.
It's not my face.
Really?
Yes.
It's not that insulting.
No, I don't think it's insulting,
but like some people are more sensitive than others.
So if you saw that and it was your face,
would you consider yourself a bug?
Like, would you read into it that way?
No.
No.
No.
It depends on what the photo was.
He's smiling.
He's having a good day.
Yeah.
It's a photo of him taken yesterday when he was at Cleave.
So, I mean, it's kind of based around this sort of social media content that he was creating anyways.
And more is more.
Otherwise, I don't know the context of it.
But I don't know that it doesn't give me vibes this person hates Kosovo.
So I'm not like, I didn't have a problem sending it to him because I think he would like it.
It's not unpleasant.
Yeah.
It's not hurtful.
You're sharing joy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So that was, that's when social media is tolerable.
Yeah.
I think it's, yeah, it's fun with smart humor.
very, very good moments on social media.
As fuck up as it is.
And as much as I hate it and wish it never existed.
Yeah, controlling it is.
It's fine.
Yeah.
I wish it never existed because it's kind of like,
it's kind of like starting, it's like a habit you started.
Oh, it's bad.
And there's no, nobody wants to kick it.
Like the entire planet is addicted.
It's like, so it's kind of similar to when you have kids,
you kind of tell yourself, man, I'm not going to let them do that.
I'm not going to let them watch that.
I'm not going to let them have this liberty or this, this thing.
When they're having dinner, they can't do this.
Or we're not going to have the TV owner or whatever.
And you break your own rules every now and then.
Once you've broken the rule, you really can't undo it.
It's like putting the toothpaste back in the tube.
You can't do that either.
That's it.
You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.
So the social media toothpaste is out.
It's out forever.
It's splattered all over the counter.
I would be fine if it had never existed,
but it does exist and there are some fun stuff to do on there.
So Catwalk, I went with my girlfriend's other night, which is why this is here.
What is here?
The pom-p-pom.
My ferret?
Yeah, the psalm-a.
I feel like we should give the ferret a name now.
Penn, Ches.
Evan.
For everybody's not watching this.
The one that won't participate.
If you're listening to the show, watching it on YouTube,
Amy has a pom-pom from her college cheerling days pinned to her chest.
That is not true.
it's consider it like
did y'all do
homecoming moms back in the day
was that just a Texas thing
no what so like we had gigantic moms
that we decorated put our names on they had streamers
like they almost hit the four they were games
like a flower
y'all you have a mom moms are like
I'm not British
no no but like it made me think about like
what kind of f*** moms
are so conceited
or so about themselves
that they're in
infiltrating the homecoming
mom's at homecoming
Oh yeah like a stage mom
All right kids step the side of the time
It's my time
Let me show you my dancing
My moves
Oh my gosh
I'm not
At the Friday night football game
All right let's hear for the moms
First homecoming mother
That actually might be quite entertaining
Yeah this is Stacy's mom
She's got it going on
Oh my god
Now I don't even remember what I was talking about
Oh so Catwalk
Catwalk for a cause was something Sherri Pollack started years ago with Martin and their foundation.
And so Speedway Children's Charity has taken it over.
And now there's a few different charities that get involved and have kids and they walk.
Laganoes, Larson's.
Yes.
There's quite a few drivers and their wives that walk.
Some consistent ones.
Like the Laganoes are always there.
Olson.
Larson's always there.
Greg Olson and his wife are there.
And everyone's representing their own charity and they walk with children that have benefited from either that charity or gone through cancer.
Great. So we do that every year and I took girlfriends with me. And it was a fun event. It always is. But there was a couple of funny things that happened. The first one that comes to mind, I see Caitlin and Kyle after the show. And, you know, Caitlin and I play Bunko together. She's a good friend of mine. She's like, hey, what's going on? You'll never guess. I'm backstage. And mind you, this is not like a stage arena. So they have to drape everything. So like, you,
the dressing rooms are just behind a curtain, essentially.
And kind of close to where some of the people that are watching the show are sitting.
So she and all the rest of the people that are walking are back in this corner where we can't see them.
I can't hear them.
I don't know where it is.
But she's like, you're never going to guess.
I am in the middle of changing outfits in between runs.
And I'm in there with my husband.
And another man just walks in my dressing room.
And so I crouch down and I'm covering myself up.
And he just continues to hang out and try to chit-shot.
Eventually they were like, dude, get the F out of here.
And they had to, like, push him out of the room.
Oh, my.
And it's somebody that we all know.
Okay.
But he just, you know, meandered back there.
Just chit-chatting with everybody.
So that's usually not something that happens at the catwalk.
No.
We've walked on it, and the curtains and the, it's just black curtains made into like a square.
Yeah, it's like pipe and drape is what they call it.
Your clothes are in there.
You walk in, you change.
And there is this, and you can hear people next door.
Yeah, it's just this.
It's just this.
It's just this.
It is literally just a sheet of fabric separating you from another couple that are
stripping clothes off and throwing clothes on as fast they can to get ready for the next walk.
And so it's a little unnerving.
Yeah.
Well, this guy in particular wasn't in the show.
He had nothing to do with the show.
He was just.
Just hanging out.
Yeah, he was there to watch the show.
Yeah.
And so the fact that he was even backstage was interesting.
But, you know.
Yeah.
Sometimes weird things happen.
I have to figure out who I have to get with you later on the name.
I can't wait to tell you.
You didn't tell me about this.
No,
I didn't tell you.
I was going to tell you yesterday morning,
but the kids were in the kitchen and I figured it would not be good breakfast
conversation before school.
So yeah,
it was always a fun event.
So I'm glad I went.
It's fun girls night.
I know that you like going,
but it's fun to hang out with girls.
Yeah, I'm good.
And we did end up going out afterwards.
I stayed home, played video games.
He did.
Sounds like a solid evening.
I've been back in the game.
Sounds like a solid evening.
I've been playing some video games lately.
It's been fun.
Yeah.
He walks into the living room yesterday evening.
He just stands in front of me and goes,
I'm going to go play some video games.
I was like, okay.
Just letting you know.
I know everybody on here thinks I fight with him about video gaming because I've expressed my,
wait, if you don't tell me, I know where you went.
Like last night, you didn't say anything.
I know, but sometimes if I, sometimes, if I,
if I don't tell you, you're grumpy about it.
I just think it's polite to like,
it's like the Irish goodbye thing with me leaving
while you're watching the documentary.
It's kind of the same thing.
You just disappear and put your headphones on.
It looks like you're doing something.
Now you're admitting that that wasn't polite that you Irish goodbye.
Well, you got annoyed about it.
Yeah.
Yeah, I was impolite.
I had margaritas.
That was my excuse.
The Elsa's happy you're admitting they.
So if I knew, I didn't just make sure I have a few margaritas,
then I can Irish goodbye.
He, for years, he would just disappear.
Oh, yeah, I did.
put his headphones on.
I had to try to teach him to like, just tell me good night.
Tell me where you're going.
Don't get disappeared.
I'm sitting at my PC playing video games and then to see Amy's silhouette to the right of me
as she walks around the corner of the desk is very triggering.
There were plenty of times where I walk around the corner just to see if he was like playing
the games or if you were like.
I don't know if we told us.
Sometimes he'd get in the chat first to like set up the people to play the games.
I don't know if we told the story.
but one of my lowest moments,
one of my slimyest lowest moments as her boyfriend.
I had...
Man, I can't wait to see her here.
I had...
We were, maybe we were supposed to hang out
or something.
I can't remember I get on the computer.
I get up.
I get up out of bed at like 7, 8 o'clock in the evening.
In the evening?
I get out of bed at like 7 or 8 at night.
Why were we in bed that early?
We weren't.
We weren't together.
You were living in another house.
Got it.
I get up out of bed at 7 or 8 in the evening.
That's when I woke up.
Get on the computer and Amy comes in to the house, walks around into the computer room,
and looks at me.
and she's sort of, you know, she's dressed,
like maybe she's dressed in a way
that she might be going to dinner or something.
She's not in her...
She's got her clothes on.
She looks like a doll.
She's clearly ready for a date.
Not in PJs or sweatpants or nothing.
She's ready to do something.
And I look at her and I go,
I'm playing video games or something.
And she annoyed turns and leaves.
I play video games
the entire night.
She comes back into the house at 8 o'clock in the morning,
the next morning.
She drives back over her, comes in the door,
walks in, turns, comes around the corner,
and I have not moved.
I might have gotten up to get something to eat.
Well, surely you got up to, like, drink and eat and go to the bathroom.
I'm not stopped playing video games
for more than enough time to get up pee or whatever.
And she comes around the corner and looks at me,
and I'm like,
what?
Like, I'm embarrassed
and my reaction is like
Be an asshole.
Be an asshole, yeah.
Like, what the fuck is it to you?
You know?
Like, I want to sit here and play video games all night.
I'm already like answering the questions
that are happening in her head.
And she's really upset.
Probably not because of him still sitting there.
It was probably more from the
a-d-reaction I got, usually.
She doesn't even say anything.
and she turns and leaves.
And for a split second, I'm like mad.
Like, I'm going to let her go.
Just let her go.
And then, like, right in, like, a second later,
felt like five, ten seconds, really slow-mo.
I got up and was like, no, no, no.
And I got up and chased her out of the house.
She was going back to her car to leave.
Did I keep going?
No.
Well, we had a conversation, but I don't remember.
I don't remember.
I mean, I felt like this happened a few times.
I think that was just once.
It might have happened a few times,
but I remember the very one specific time that was like I pushed it to the very edge.
Yeah.
I mean, I sometimes came over there and he hadn't budged for two days.
Like, this is not one night is not alarming.
Sometimes you could tell he hadn't slept in like 48 hours.
Yeah.
During the.
Like the off season, especially when you weren't racing it like between.
Right around 2009.
So I, so you saw the clip from the guy.
on social media.
He's a basketball player,
and he's, like, doing a press conference
after some practice or whatever.
And he says,
y'all better pay attention
when Grand Theft Auto comes out.
Watch everybody's stats.
They're all going to go into this shit.
He's like the people that, you know,
a lot of the guys in this league
or, you know, even in other sports,
are going to be playing this game
for hours and hours and hours all through the night
and you're going to see their, you know,
the batting average and their shot percentage
and all that stuff start to drop.
And it was a sudden jest.
but he's absolutely correct.
So like eye racing comes out.
I've been a betty tester since 2004,
but it went public in 08.
So in 08,
all these thousands of guys are coming in,
flooding it,
and we're racing all night long,
and it was just really amazing.
So by 09,
I've like figured out really how to race on the weekend,
but also stay up all night throughout the week
to figure out how to flip the entire week up.
It's almost like going through jet lag.
Yeah.
You know, being upside down on the clock, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
flipping the clock 180 degrees to race and get up in the morning and be, you know,
functional on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
What a wild way to want to treat yourself.
It may.
It was what I wanted to do.
Was it what I needed to do and should have been doing?
Absolutely not.
Like I was, and you can look at the racing and see in 09.
It just kind of tails off and then through the Lance McGrew years.
it was pathetic.
And part of that was my own, you know,
lack of focus.
There's a part of the carpet in that room is carpeted
for the sound and all the things,
but there's a part of when they laid the carpet in that room
that the underlayment is wrinkled.
And so he can hear that crunch.
And to this day, it still makes a crunch
right there in front of the shelf.
Like right when you turn that one corner,
it must be overlapped right there.
And so he could, he could always hear when I came in.
And he, he'd stand up and come meet me around the corner, like, I'm not doing anything.
Yeah.
Like, you are really defensive.
Yeah.
Just because of your video game habit.
I'm like, if you're that worried about the quit it.
He's like, I don't want to quit it.
No, you can't just say quit it.
I mean, gamers for life.
Didn't we say that?
The other reason I didn't say anything half the time when you had those headphones on is because I knew there were other people listening.
They can hear.
Oh, yeah.
I wasn't about to start.
Yeah.
talking, my buddies hear it. That would embarrasses both. Now we're really fighting about something.
You know what I mean? See, now Amy, you should go in there and just say like random things to
just embarrass Dale. Tickle-by!
Dale, how's that rash doing? Dale, your pancakes are ready. Do you want me cut up your food
again? Dale, you're eating pancakes at 10 o'clock at night. That's a really good idea, Travis.
Pancakes for dinner is a low-key, awesome meal. There's also like this giant wall. So like it's a
three, we almost like build our own system.
furniture in there.
It's like,
there's three pockets
where you can sit and game.
There's three desks.
Yeah.
And it's all in one.
But there's a half wall.
And I built it.
Yeah,
there's a divider between,
so you can't see across to the desk.
You can't see across it.
So I could launch things over the top of that thing.
Water balloons.
The idea was is that,
so when I lived in the house that was all on that property before,
we went to the store and we bought one of those corner desks.
And we bought four of them.
made an octagon.
Right?
An octagon?
That's eight.
Well, it was eight.
Oh, you, you, they faced each other.
They faced each other.
We put four corner desks together in the corners of the room.
And made, it was octagon in shape, but four stations.
And we, I went, I got online and bought four gaming computers, all identical.
And I would sit, I had my station to race at.
TJ had his
Martin Trix Jr. who lived with me
had his and then we had a spare
for anybody that might show up.
And we'd go in there
every night around
8 or 9 o'clock and race online
until we just were dead tired,
three, four in the morning.
And so when we were building this house
that we're in now,
we built that with the idea that
those are gaming stations.
TJ's was on the end
and then we was going to have the spare over here
and then, you know, me and Amy end up start dating and...
Nobody's coming over anymore.
Well, TJ also had a child about the same time.
They got kids.
They became adults.
He's not coming over to play video games all night.
He's at home with his wife and his kid.
All the boys started finding their families, you know what I mean?
And Jill's like, it never happened.
And now I'm sitting here.
Amy's got one side.
It's her office now.
Yeah.
And then I still have one little gaming thing.
And then on the end now is Isla's.
I live sits there and plays, yeah.
And they print 3D things,
like they're their own little station at the end.
Yep.
It's...
In my mind, I always dreamed of them sitting in there
at that table and doing homework.
Yeah, I always thought that would do that too.
No, that didn't work out that way either.
It's like a play space.
It's not really a serious space,
which is fine.
Sorry, we got off track.
Yeah, the other thing that happened at Catwalk,
everybody...
Amy always calls me in the morning before the show.
What are we going to talk about?
Oh, God.
God. And I called her this morning. It was actually me doing that. What am I going to talk about him?
I know. Here's the thing. He called me too. And I'm trying to get out. Oh, Hosebar responded.
Ha, ha, ha, ha. He loved it. He loved it.
You're like shooting in all the directions today. Well, he loves it when I talked to real
race car drivers live during the show. Yeah. Like, well, if you're going to talk about what they
said or something and we're questioning what they meant, like, let's find out. I get it.
You know it would be a good co-host if you ever needed one. It's Carson. I've never met him.
He would. He was. He was.
great when he filled in.
He'd be a great co-host with Amy and bless your heart.
He'd probably sit in whatever chair I told him to though, unlike you.
I guess he might.
I still don't know how you sit in that chair.
He's so tall.
He probably wouldn't slump down in this big old chair.
But Amy asked me this more, or I asked Amy this morning what we're going to talk about.
She's like, well, I did, we did this and did this.
Nobody cares.
I'm like, people care.
I said, plus when we start talking about what we've been up to, we always shoot off.
his meander.
Sorry, go ahead.
My Red Bulls kicking.
Should we do our drink of the week?
Yeah, our drink of the week, sponsored by High Rock is actually Red Bull and High Rock
Vodka.
It's just, we kept it really simple this week.
Don't forget to check out.
It's the red.
It's the red, Red, Red Bull.
I keep looking at Destinies.
The Red Red, Red Bull.
It's the Red, Red, Red Bull.
Please check out High Rockbodka.com.
For a store locator near you, if you are unaware like Dale, you can get online.
And there are store locators.
you put in your zip code and they tell you what you can find in your area.
So it's pretty cool.
High Rock had just recently announced a partnership with the Cars Tour to be the official vodka of the Cars Tour.
Exciting news for High Rock and the Cars Tour for 2007.
That's pretty awesome.
Shamedless plug.
I wish my liquor store had High Rock, but it doesn't.
Why?
It's never there.
It must be sold out.
What else happened at the...
Please drink responsibly if we didn't say that.
Please, yes.
Please drink responsibly.
You must be 21 years or old.
So the other thing I having a catwalk, I lose my phone constantly.
Everybody knows this all night long.
My phone is in my purse.
I don't really even have pictures from the event.
There's a couple of pictures from other phones just so that I don't lose my phone.
I get all the way through the evening.
We go to the bar afterwards for a couple of drinks.
I have my phone.
I've texted you on the way.
She's like, hey, can I go to the pub?
I'm like, yeah, as long as you don't have no dummies buying any drinks.
And I look at the pub and I heard her share.
she's got her little avatar on her dot, right?
And she's bouncing around into this bar.
It's like moving around.
Because I kept my purse, my little grainy purse on my arm so that I didn't lose.
And I look at the bar photos.
You go to Yelp or whatever.
And it's this, it's a weird looking place.
It's called In the Wind.
It's a biker bar.
It's like an old, really old.
Smells like cigarettes.
Like people still smoke in there.
Oh, yeah.
There's a TV with commercials and regular shit going on.
And they're dancing in front of this.
TV and taking pictures in front of it.
We were dancing to, hey, I have touch tunes in there.
They took a group photo in front of the emo, emo, whatever that commercial is.
Oh.
Well, we didn't know what was on the TV.
They don't know what's on the TV behind them, but it's a big giant advertisement.
We were playing 80s like hair band music, and then we played a little dance,
Zeele's Bob.
Y'all are busy in there.
We were.
They have touched tunes.
Oh, you could have gone in there, Dale, and messed up their vibe.
I don't know if it smelled like cigarettes.
I probably wouldn't like it.
If the place smells like cigarettes, I will not go into it.
So I've said that a thousand times, too, but in about 30 seconds.
You don't even smell it anymore.
Yeah.
If I'm really...
It's not like anybody's in there putting a heater in your face.
If I need to raise hell, I can get pushed through.
Yeah.
They have an outdoor patio, too.
It's fun.
But if we're, like, bouncing from bar to bar, I'll skip the ones that's neat.
Yeah, I hear you.
I mean, if you have other options, it's easy to pick another thing, of course.
But, so anyway, we get all the way home.
I have text stale.
I know I have my phone in my possession.
I got some auction items, so I have, like, a bunch of little bags to get out of the car.
And I left my phone in the dang drivers.
car who lives in Monroe and he's someone that's driven us to events or different things
plenty of times so I have his phone number but I waited to text him to like three in the morning
or eight in the morning for my iPad that I I tracked my phone and it's in his car so he had to
bring it back up to me but I didn't have it for like hours the next day and my iPad isn't set up
fully so that like all of my email all of my text messages come through clearly and I felt so
untethered speaking of not having social media and going backwards I didn't and so I watched
a bunch of documentaries all morning about murder.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, speaking of, so we went to the car service in Tennessee.
I wanted to shout out the car service we use.
Johnny B.
But it's not.
I got to tell you something, though.
That's not his name.
That's not his business's name.
He's retiring.
He's selling it.
Oh, my God.
He told me that the other night.
But he said he still will drive us if we go somewhere,
because we go maybe once or twice a year.
Does it anywhere?
I mean,
he's the best.
Yeah, he is.
Yeah, because if you're going from where you guys live,
like trying to get an Uber is tough.
It's impossible.
You can get an Uber home,
but you can't call an Uber to pick you up.
And obviously, you know,
you're going to have a drink or two.
It's not worth it.
He's been,
he's been awesome.
He's been doing that for us for several years.
And he's just fantastic.
For quite a while, yeah.
So he's retiring.
Thagong.
Yep, sorry.
He said he'll still drive us if we go anywhere.
But, you know, he's,
he's getting to the,
age of wanting to hang out and do nothing.
He's got a 12-year-old.
How do you keep losing your phone, though?
What's that?
Like, this is like a problem.
I know.
It is a problem.
I had the phone in my lap.
I am a problem with my phone.
It's my fault, of course.
I take full responsibility.
I had the dang thing in my lap,
got out of a car.
That's the first problem.
You can never reference your phone is,
the dang thing.
Yeah, well, we don't have like a loving relationship.
You don't.
It's a necessity, but it's not like something I want to need.
You know what I mean?
When Amy,
Amy leaves her phone on tables and just,
she'll just forget it's there and get up and leave and drive on down the road and go,
whoop,
darn,
left my phone.
And I'm thinking,
you know,
we,
look,
look,
I get it.
We all would rather not be so dependent on the phone.
But you,
as you said,
Amy,
I couldn't do anything.
When you don't have it, you're like, oh, I need to do this, but I need my phone.
I need to do this, but I have to have, I got this, but it's on my phone, you know.
And we would, we would love to not, we used, we've lived life without these damn things.
It's possible.
But you get so, it's so convenient.
And I never leave it in, I won't even walk out of the room without it, right?
If I'm, you know, if I set it down and I put on, you know, I'm changing clothes or brushing my teeth.
I don't get all the way downstairs and goes, whoop, forgot my phone.
Go back upstairs, you know.
And there's a, and so I don't understand.
I can't just have it in my hand all the time.
Like, it needs a lanyard to, like, hang out around my neck.
Is it in fact that you just not, you don't have a lot of pockets?
Yeah, well, I'm not, yes, I'm not wearing five pocket jeans every day.
See, I'm pocket every, yeah.
If you wear those cargo shorts you had on last week, you'll never lose it.
That's true.
Is it the, it's the pocket?
It's the pocket.
Like you're wearing clothes where you're not, you don't have the pocket.
and you're having to hold it.
I have to hold it.
And so the other day,
so I've always been like,
I'm personally, privately,
I am flabbergasted at how often she loses her phone.
It's not just me.
There's lots of ladies that lose their phone.
I think we need to figure out a way to build pockets into women's clothing that makes it.
There are a lot of pockets in dresses and skirts now,
but like these things don't have pockets.
It's, I can't,
my mind can't comprehend.
I'm with you.
And then the other day,
I left my phone laying somewhere.
And I thought,
I walked around the house and then it dawned on me
like 20 minutes later. I'm like,
where's my phone?
My pocket.
Where the fuck is it?
Holy shit.
Where is it?
And I had this moment of,
oh my God.
This is how,
this is what happens,
Amy.
Except Amy doesn't panic like Dale does.
Amy knows she just.
I was panicking that I was.
Turning into me.
I'm slipping into that.
Oh, no.
I'm turning into my wife.
I'm like, oh, no.
Now I'm doing it.
And you're probably worried because now that means you lose your credit card and your ID.
Yeah, right.
So I don't, I don't, that's why I don't worry because none of my other stuff's in my phone, like his, it's his wallet and his phone.
I get it now.
You lost your whole purse, basically.
Well, we were in, we were probably 15 years ago or 10 years ago.
We were in the mountains with some friends.
And we went out and raised hell at this bar.
we came home.
I think I slept in my pants.
And I got up...
You slept in your boots that night.
We got up in the morning.
I slept in my boots, pants, everything.
We got up in the morning.
We're moving around,
getting breakfast,
get a shower,
and go upstairs.
And I'm like,
I cannot find my wallet.
That's when I carried everything
in a wallet.
And I couldn't find it,
couldn't find it,
looking everywhere,
looking everywhere.
Finally, man,
I'm freaking out of me.
must have left it in town.
And so, all right, I call and I'm canceling every credit card and do go through.
There's hours of this, right?
Painting the total ass.
And then I found it.
I'll wad it up in the bottom at the foot of the bed in the bed sheets.
And even though all the stuff in it was canceled, I was so thankful.
Yeah.
Very relieved.
See, now I don't even worry about that.
I have a, it looks like a credit card, but it's like an air tag in my wallet.
So you don't lose your wallet?
Yeah, so I just have it
And I can like press a button
And it'll beep
Yeah
Oh they make those cards
It's a ridge
I got one of those
It's amazing
I don't use a wallet
So I don't I'm old
I was thinking about
It works like an air tag
Yeah
I was thinking about
Throwing in luggage and shit
Yeah
It still use it that way
Same thing
But it does beep if you push a button
Yeah
I can put on my phone
I can go to my phone
I can go to my find me
And it'll beep like
It's super smart
Yeah
Very cool
That is cool
They need to make...
They need to make...
A phone case that has that built into it?
A phone case.
Well, your phone...
You can just...
It's its own find me.
That's true, Travis.
You can track and find my phone.
And then it beeps.
I'll find my phone and my cards.
My phone will be beeping and my cards will be beeping.
They need to make credit cards
that have trackers in them.
I don't know about that.
That's probably...
Well, maybe other people could track it in.
That could be used for nefarious reasons.
Well, if someone takes your credit card,
you can now find it.
I guess it's just easier to cancel it nowadays.
Immediate cancel.
Yeah.
Can we talk about the car store and how fun it was to go to the racetrack?
Amy went with me to Newport, Tennessee.
I didn't know where that was either for all of you going.
I don't know where that is.
It's very, very close to Gatlinburg.
Yeah, 20, 30 minutes away.
Yeah, so this little racetrack here, you pass by it on the street and you don't even see it because it's built up.
Like you go up the hill and then it's built into the hill, so you could totally miss it passing by it.
but it was really neat.
It's like,
it's the only racetrack I've ever seen
where you're like going in a circle
but you're also going up and down.
It looked like a carnival ride.
Dale said it was a hell of time.
High banked.
Very high banked.
Was it your first time racing?
Now I had a nervous breakdown
in the middle of the day
right before qualifying like I always do.
Shire to talk him off the ledge.
She did.
He comes,
he goes out to practice and he comes back.
Is that the way it was?
And then so he's sitting in the camper
and he's got this look on his face
like,
somebody just text him something really bad.
You know what I mean?
Like he was fine before he went out and then he came back
and that was the look on his face.
I was like, what's wrong?
Something happened?
He's like, I'm just, oh, I just so nervous.
He keeps going on about all the things he's worried about.
I was like, Dale, just go enjoy yourself.
You signed up for this.
This is everything you wanted to do.
You're in the track.
The kids aren't here.
Like you have no extra stress.
Why are you getting inside of your head like this?
Everybody here just wants to see you run.
They don't care how you finish.
just go play like go enjoy yourself i don't mean it to like sound a meaning
no you really should just go out there and like cowboy it you know what i mean have a good time
yep and we did but i for whatever reason right before right in that little space of time
after practice is over and you know what's weird is i never really did this to this extreme
in my professional driving career when i was a full-time cup driver because i was racing every single week
So you knew, even though you would be disappointed,
like super disappointed with a bad day,
you were going to get a chance next weekend to try again.
To redeem yourself?
And you still did get nervous and throw fits, though.
I did get nervous, but not like this.
I don't know what's going on.
I have went therapy and talked to a therapist about it
because I do want to just go run these late mall races and have fun.
And all of the weekend is completely fine
until that little break between practice and qualifying.
Qualifying has always spun you out.
Yeah. Qualifying is very stressful for me because, I don't know,
I just know what I'm capable of or I feel like I know what I think I'm capable of.
I have the standard that I think that's achievable for me.
And I feel like every lap that I run, if I'm not meeting that standard,
if I'm not running that lap time that I think I should be running, it's devastating.
and so once qualified is over, regardless of the result,
I mean some results are disappointing, some aren't,
but once qualifies over,
that whole feeling in my gut and my head is gone.
And then I just go into the race,
and the race is always fine and fun.
It's so much fun.
And I want to go do it again,
but I know I'm going to have to go through that same junky three hours
that is as miserable as it gets.
I feel like you need to fill that time with something else
instead of being able to sit there and just get all in your head.
Well, I thought, you know,
it wasn't too bad when I went and raced Tony Jr.'s pro.
There was a little bit of anxiety.
But I don't know, for some reason,
it's the strangest thing, man.
Like I...
But you need to stay busy during that period.
Yeah.
I guess.
I got confidence.
I really truly believe that I can do it and do it well.
It's not that I'm not confident or worried that I'm not able to do it.
But, and in Tony Jr.'s car, it wasn't so much that the car's better.
It was just...
I feel like you were just racing with him and his energy and his...
There was no number eight.
There was no...
Your name's on the car.
Yeah, it was a...
I told Tony Jr., I'm like, don't even change the car, whatever's on it, leave it.
Number 23, whatever.
I felt anonymous.
Kind of like when you travel overseas, you know...
you're you can be as foolish and fun and do whatever you want to do there that knows who to
you are you know and you just kind of get the you get the day off you know makes sense but um
it was fun yeah the whole experience is i it was fun i don't want to hijack the whole thing
what'd you do during the race i was hanging out in the high rock house so high rock came in with a giant
hospitality cabin up on the hill over turn one yeah badass it overlooks the whole track so i stood out
on the deck and watch the race from from the deck it was it was a great vantage point um i could
i was down in the pits and i could see her yeah up there laying on the rail talking to
talk not talking to people yeah hospitality hospitality amy yeah schmoozion he doesn't like
when he takes me to things like that because i like to put i like to talk to everybody i like
i work the room i talk to everybody dude i want you to have fun and he likes to find a corner this is how
he is in every public space he finds a corner and he's like
And he holds onto it.
Like, if there's a pole, he's physically got his arm wrapped around it.
And he's like, I'm stuck right here.
If I go to a public place, I'm back into the corner and look at it so I can see the whole room.
He's like, nobody's coming up behind me.
And, you know, surprise.
Yeah, I love to bop around.
Yeah.
Bop around.
Y'all bop.
I'm going to be in the corner.
I'll see you when you come back.
So it was a lot of fun.
The guys came up after the race and, like, had beer and everything.
I drove Miss Daisy back to the airport and we flew home.
So we, um,
we get done with the race,
had a great time.
Caden Coopo won,
wrapped up the championship
in the late model stock,
had a great pro race.
That championship will be wrapped up
at the last racing
on the 17th of October
in South Boston,
two weeks,
can be badass.
But I go upstairs to this,
so we get done racing,
and I slip out of the racetrack
as fast as I can
because they're getting ready to start
some local racing.
And we jump,
we get out of there.
I am freaking my ass is kick because my helmet blower wasn't working and it's super hot inside the late moth stock car and I am my ass is kicked.
And so.
His face is beat red.
Yeah.
So I go to the camper and showered, got on a golf card and ran up to this house, this cabin, the hospitality for High Rock.
And Amy's in there.
And I'm like, of course, I am as thrilled to see Amy.
if I'm away from Amy for 10 minutes
just the next time I'm in the room with her
see her, it's just as thrilling every single time.
It's kind of like having a Labrador.
A little golden retriever.
I decided to see you.
Yes.
So I come.
I mean that lovingly, Rob.
I know.
I walk up the stairs and this place has a balcony around it
and I'm walking up to everybody.
And they're like, oh!
You know, they see me and they're like,
hell, that's up, man.
And I'm like, where's Amy?
Where's Amy?
All right, cool, man, where's Amy?
And every one of them.
And they're like, oh, she's inside.
And so I go in there and there she is.
And she's standing beside this big ass tray of fried chicken.
And I am starving.
And so I grab, I don't get to sh-h, everybody.
He starts pacing around.
He's like, I'm really hungry.
I was like, just get a plate.
He's like, I don't know.
Is everybody else eating?
I was like, Dale just been sitting here.
It could have been, it's like almost midnight.
I'm like, this could have been sitting here for five hours.
I don't know.
She's like, no, they just brought it out.
So I'm chowing on...
Like a barbarian.
A piece of fried chicken.
And it is the greatest piece of fried chicken I've ever had my life.
I don't think I've ever seen you eat fried chicken ever.
Well, I just burnt up in that car.
I knew I had some calories.
Well, I'm not worried about it.
All I'm saying is physically watching, like the visual I had,
watching you chow into that.
Like, it was the only piece of meat you've ever eaten in your life.
It was amazing.
And then I'm like, all right, I'm getting drunk.
And so they've been there hanging out hospitality.
Yeah, they've been hospitality.
They've been hospitalitying for a while.
He looks at me.
He's like, I'm surprised that you're not drunk.
I was like, I'm not here to like, I'm kind of working, you know,
and you're racing.
I was watching you.
I'm like, man, I thought I'd come up here and you'd be in the throttle.
And I was going to run, I was going to go chug a few years and try to catch up.
But she's not.
He didn't consider though that one of us had to drive back to the airport.
Yeah. I was like, and it's his night.
It's not mine.
So you have your fun.
So I drank about four or five beers and...
Probably closer to eight.
Okay.
Drink about eight beers.
Well done.
In a really short period of time.
In like an hour.
It was so fun.
If you're dehydrated, you drink a beer, it's like water.
Yes.
But we got...
We got out of there and got in the car.
And so now I've only got...
I mean, I've ran like in a...
If Raisin' Hale and drinking beers a 500 mile or I've ran a 250 lap of.
brace and stopped and got out of the car, right? So I'm in the car with Amy and we're driving back
and I know she's sober and I'm over there drunk and I'm rambling on. You know how that is.
Would not stop talking. I'm rambling, ranling, ran. I know that I'm like, she's like so nice.
She's like I'm not, you know, trying not to get on my, her last nerve. Well, I had the map
pulled up on my phone too. And instead of letting me hold it and map myself back to the airport,
he's holding it and he's navigating me in his broadcaster voice.
And we're getting right up on the turns too.
Like I'm, we're...
This is not going well.
Because we're talking about the race.
You know that.
Yeah.
So we're recapping and mapping and mapping and trying to not...
And it's dark.
And there's like for backwoods in Tennessee, there's not like streetlights or anything.
It was pretty funny.
Raccoon or anything like that on the road.
It was a mess.
But we made it.
But ever since then, I've wanted to finish the last 250 laps of the race.
Well, you should.
I guess that means he's going back.
No.
I'm ready to rip.
Oh, you were talking about beers again?
Yes.
Oh, I missed that analogy.
I heard you say it.
I knew exactly what he meant.
Yeah.
Well, hammer down, bud.
I'm going to hammer down at some point.
I'm looking for my opportunity.
He's going to have a birthday on Saturday.
So I have a feeling between
festivities in general
and birthdays happening
that you'll have some beers.
I asked Travis if he was busy this weekend.
He might come by.
Travis is I feel like he's always busy even if he's not busy.
He's going to find something to be busy.
I'm never busy.
Her dad, he loves to drink beers.
He does.
He does.
He does.
He does.
Well, Tim Dugger's performing this weekend.
Tim's around.
Maybe he comes by for some beers.
We were supposed to drink the other weekend,
but when I was texting Dale on Friday,
when I was texting both of you guys,
Dale tapped out early and then never responded.
It happens.
We were going to get together.
He forgot he had kids.
He forgot he had a family when he invited you into the house.
I'm like,
Travis is going to come over and hang out with this.
I mean, I know he's used to doing that at Matt's house,
but like they grew up together.
Yeah.
He's never been out here and seen our chaos before.
Friday night, Amy's like, oh, he's already passed out.
Went to bed.
Yeah.
Yeah, he had Sunday.
race day, rain day, football day, I think is the beer day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We had, um...
So come, come see us Sunday.
I had a horrible Sunday.
We did?
Yeah.
What?
Commanders.
Oh.
But they played at 9.30 in the morning, too.
I had, I had McLaurin in my fantasy lineup.
And he didn't even play.
Like, Dale, you could have helped a sister out.
I told you, I put him in my team.
Dale, you got to help her out.
No, he didn't even...
I...
He woke up, put his jersey on and sat.
I got up, put on my jersey and went downstairs.
It didn't think to say, hey, me.
And, yeah.
On his iPad, though, not on a TV.
It's NFL's fault for these overseas games to start in 930.
Don't deflect, though.
Like, that's a separate issue.
I'm sure she wasn't the only one.
Yeah, but she doesn't live, she's the only lives in your house.
No, I'm just saying it's probably happened to a lot of people.
It's NFL's fault.
We're never going to get an answer out of him.
It's never his fault.
These wrists are terrible.
Why do they have to go to Spain?
Hey, by the way, you know, we were talking last week about the fines that they gave those guys for chugging the beers.
They rescinded them.
They've rescinded all of them.
And they've put out a long statement, the Players Association and the NFL, put out a statement that says, all that stuff's fine.
The only thing you can't do is drug use, sexual, any kind of sexual innuendos and gang signs.
That's fair.
And they're like, I want one of them to finish and come around and do this.
Like something really silly.
You know what I mean?
Do you all remember when they used to do this?
And then hit their...
This sound...
The suck-it thing?
The suck-it thing.
That was the wrestling.
I know, but then the football players started doing it.
Generation X or something.
The generation X.
So...
Somebody should do that, but that might be sexual and they should.
I know, so I remember football players doing that too.
That's what I'm thinking.
Yeah, that could be a flag.
So the refs,
two refs, I know one, was shouting FU, FU, FU at a player.
Two refs got in trouble last week.
Two refs got in trouble last week.
Wow.
Because during the game, the players were, this player was chatting, you know.
He was getting Mouty.
The player was being Mouty and the wreath is like, FU.
Yeah.
F you.
I wonder what they said.
And they called him on camera and that's like absolute.
I mean, I don't know.
It's also overblown because in hockey, those refs will trip right back at you.
They've even shown it.
And an empire of a baseball game.
I think it's just.
Yeah, they have to reciprocate a little bit.
I'll be honest.
It's an optics thing for the NFL.
I think it's perfectly fine.
Just don't zoom in on it.
I think it's perfectly fine for a ref to give his peace of mind.
It sucks that it, you know, the problem with the NFL, the problem the NFL has is that the
rest are actually doing a poor job because we, Washington, for example, had a touchdown called
back once in the last two weeks.
And the review,
when you go back and look at these plays,
man, it's ticky tack, it's not,
there's no fouls.
They're,
they're,
it's super shady.
And I will never believe that any major sports entity is rigged.
So I'm not going to be one of the folks that are on that side of thinking the NFL's
rigged.
But I just do,
I do believe that the quality of the,
if the reffing has declined somewhat.
It's not consistent.
Well, it's something about,
I remember not really given too shit about the quality.
I mean, you know, you saw some calls you didn't agree with
and stuff 10, 20, 30 years ago.
But these days, it's like, wow, that's a really bad call.
Like, that's really not, you know, what are we doing?
So, I mean, you know, of course I'm biased
if it's against the commanders.
But.
there's a big conversation
I guess all I'm saying is there's a big conversation right now
around the quality of the calls
but also
they're arguing back to the players
they're getting suspended and now the referee
association's mad at the NFL
for saying they overreacted
and now the NFL and the players
associate come out with a joint statement
saying that this stuff's fine we're rescinding
the fine so there's a lot of
some disconnect here
curious how it's going to play out
I think it'll blow over.
This is probably, we should have saved this for our football show we do later.
The NFL's got so much going on.
They'll blow over.
They have a lot going on.
One thing that better start happening is I better get some wins.
And let your wife know if any Washington players hurt.
Washington better winning some damn games.
When we have discussions about picking up players and I've asked his opinion about it,
and then you don't even tell me that my man is on injured reserve or he's just out or whatever happened,
he's like yeah hamstring i'm like what hamstring he last game he was totally fine and
killing it and now all of a sudden his hamstrings hurting what happened i don't know
nothing no no news i'm like well damn my quarterback my right out was it's the commander's fault
it's a commander's fault for their the way they do you sometimes this injury news can come out
in a weird way kind of real shady like no the league has standard
it's for when you can you announce it this is this is 100% on they were like i always check my app
before i before i know that they were playing that early you know scary terry wanted to play real
bad to help him out and now you know now he's day to day and all this it's like what's going on
you're full of it it's confusing he's just making this up as he goes i'm confused deflegged
i mean i'm glad he wasn't on my team i too would have left him on my lineup this would have
happened to me if i had to draft him no wouldn't it way to deflect i asked dale what he wanted
do for his birthday and he said nothing.
He's like, you don't really mean that.
I don't.
I don't want to decide right now what I want to do.
It's in two days.
I'm going to...
Here's what Dale really wants to do, Amy.
Just sit by himself in a dark corner in the corner of the bar and drink beer.
Tell her what it is.
He wants to crack a bunch of beers, watch some sports, throw out some bets, and eat some snacks.
Yep.
And if anybody comes over, fine.
If not, he's perfectly fine doing that on a zone.
Well, that's what you get to do on Sunday.
We're going to the racetrack Saturday to watch the J-R-M guys.
I want to do it Saturday night.
Well, then you're going to be junk on Sunday.
But Sunday's Sunday, fun day.
I mean, Sunday's just laying around and being junk.
I asked you what we're, it's going to be raining and miserable with that hurricane coming through.
And I asked you what you wanted to do on Sunday.
And you're like, just lay around.
I have never said lay around.
I said, hey, man, let's get up and go do some fun.
He's like, nah.
This is.
You can lay around with ferrets.
I'm like, we could go, we could do.
laser tag we could take
he said that snarky
in a snarky way because I said we have people coming to town
like we need to do something
we have Amy's family coming into town
when are they going to get here
Friday Friday morning
we have Nicole's birthday party
and then we'll probably
go to dinner or something who knows
so that's pretty solid
reservations huh I've made no reservations
I'm just saying that's we're going to have a solid day
and then
Saturday
the plan is to go to the
O'Reilly's race and then
probably hang out in the
basement afterwards with her dad
and whoever else wants to chill.
I'm sure her sister's always up for a good time.
And so
that's a pretty good Saturday.
And then Sunday
is NFL
and there's just, you know, and it's
kind of a day to lounge
and hang out. But Amy's like
we got to go do stuff. We've got to
They need to go, she feels this need to entertain them.
Like, they need things, activities.
I like to have at least one activity a day, even if it's something small, I plan out the house.
But the other thing I was trying to get out of him is, are we cooking?
Are we staying?
Are we going out?
Because reservations, it's like nine or ten people.
Yeah.
That's like not a small.
I can't even do that on an app.
I have to call.
I'll call Epic Shop House.
We'll get it taken care of.
And so I just need to make plans or get groceries, you know.
There has to be a plan.
And he's like, I don't know.
I'm on the non-plan.
take them to the trampoline park? What are you talking about?
Laser tag?
Could you at least let Amy know what you want to do for food so she can prepare one way or another?
We just go to store and buy a bunch.
But she's going to do it ahead of time.
We'll get a bunch of food to grill.
We've got this new griddle that we've seasoned and we're ready to use and we cook a ton of food on it all at once.
I'm just going to do my own thing.
I think you just have to play on his birthday weekend.
I'm going to figure it out.
So he's zero help.
When I go to their houses,
I'm hoping that there's not,
there's not like an activity every day.
That's how I am.
I'm hoping, I understand we're going to have some days
where they're shit to.
But, you know, getting up, getting dressed
and leaving the house to go do something,
you know, I'd rather lay around and enjoy their house.
Enjoy being in that state.
enjoy what they do.
What do they do on a Sunday?
That's what I want to do.
What are they doing when I'm not there?
They do stuff.
They don't just sit around all the time.
So dad likes to go and see and do things.
And we have plenty of things planned.
It's not like we have to plan anything extra for Sunday.
I just want to make sure that we're all not just sitting there like staring at each other.
You know what I mean?
I don't like that.
I love being around them.
So I think we'll probably not be staring at each other in silence.
So I mean, I'm sure we have conversations.
Okay.
I'm imagining sweatpants day a lot.
on the couch, just not talking to anybody,
which is what I'm imagining you're thinking, too.
Is that what's going to happen on Sunday?
I hope not.
I mean, I might try to get everybody drunk to where that's what they do.
Get them all drunk.
It's a good plan.
And everybody's tired and lazy.
Oh, no.
Yeah.
Time to get after it.
Never mind those kids running around.
Time to get the vodka and tequila and all the drinks out.
Mm-mm.
You're going to bartend, too?
I mean, you've already invited Travis over.
So he's coming Sunday.
You've got to put your real pants on.
I'm coming Saturday.
Sunday.
Saturday.
Sunday is lazy.
I work on Sundays.
I got to watch the race.
Got to be locked in.
Sunday, there's not going to be a race.
But just in case there is, I've got to be.
Where I think.
It's called Sunday, Fundy.
Sunday is not a day where I think raise hail party.
Because there's Monday coming.
Like Sunday is the day.
wind it up, wind it down, you know, put it away and get your ass ready to go.
It's a day of rest.
It's fall break week.
Saturday is the day.
Friday night.
Friday's a good day.
There's nothing happening Monday.
Friday's a good primer.
Friday's a good day, but Saturday is the day.
I mean, just in general, not for this weekend specifically, but like Saturday's the party day of the weekend, not Sunday.
Well, I feel like Sunday is going to be a party day, considering it's going to be rainy and everybody's going to be sitting around.
If it's a pool day on Sunday, you can have fun today.
But I feel like Sunday's...
I plan on...
I'm not, it's not that I'm not going to have a beer on Sunday,
but I plan on having most of my beers Saturday night.
Okay.
You asked me what I wanted to do on my birthday.
I did.
I got an answer.
There we go.
First question, who would last longer in jail?
You or Dale.
Who would last longer?
Yeah.
You think you would last longer?
In jail?
I would make friends.
Amy would be running a gang by the second day
Dale would be signing autographs in there
He probably would make some friends
Yeah
He'd be backed up into the corner though
Yeah
Next question
Who could build IKEA furniture faster?
Dale's actually very good at this
He does not need instruction
He didn't even look at instructions anyway
So he loves an IKEA set
Because it's like okay challenge accepted
piece of cake.
But does he use all the parts correctly?
Yeah.
We lay it all out.
Yeah.
He can build anything.
I'm really good.
I'm building stuff.
I want to like listen, we pick at each other a lot, but that is absolutely, I got
something put together.
I don't even tell him what it is.
I just give him the box and he figures it out.
Next question.
This is going viral on social media.
Is it okay to bring an ice coffee into an interview?
No.
You shouldn't bring any drink into an interview.
Not even in water.
For like a job interview?
Yeah.
Oh, I don't know.
I don't know much about job interviews.
Or manners.
Yeah, but you can still like...
You do what you want.
You smack on food.
He'll call people and start smacking on food.
I'm like, I'll take the bag of chips or something away from him.
Like, he's...
You do.
He's never called me snacking.
He calls me when he eats his lunch.
I'm like, stop it.
You're supposed to dress nice and try not to just be, you know, not probably bringing
a drink in.
of any kind it's probably a bad idea
I think so too
It is you shouldn't slurp on a coffee
Nobody wants to smell your coffee
It looks like you're not paying attention
You're not serious
Yeah
Somebody want to know
What games did you guys play
When you were on recess growing up
Red Rover
Did you play recess Red Rover?
Oh yeah
You could
Marco Polo
Can mess up some arms
Do you remember that is a geodesic dome
That thing you climbed on
Oh yeah
We'd close our eyes
And play Marco Polo around that thing
Around that thing
Like inside it?
Yeah, inside, outside. People have run into it. Yes. I mean, we really didn't play hide and seek.
Did you play four square? It was Red Rover. Four square? Mm-mm. I don't even know what four square is.
Four people and then there's a ball in your bouncing. You're trying to get people out and there's like a king, queen.
Nope, I never played that. Did you? We played basketball. We just split up into groups and played like a game of basketball or out if it was outside. It was like we'd split up into two.
giant groups and play two games of football.
There'd be a game going on on the big field and a game going on on the side field.
Oh, we didn't have like spaces like that.
It was just like a playground with grass.
Yeah.
From what I recall.
Yeah.
I don't remember anything else.
Yeah, we just breaking up and just playing a game of football and just like a little tackle football to get the energy and get the aggression out.
Just had a good old plane chase.
We'd probably chase each other around tag.
I mean, this is in.
Elementary school.
No, I don't remember.
I'm talking about, like, being a freshman.
You don't have recess as a freshman, do you?
We had gym class.
Oh, that's not the same?
I'm thinking, like, playground recess.
The best, though, like, if we're going to high school
playing dodge ball in high school, that was all.
When I was on smoking people.
When I was in first or second grade,
I was, we were just trying to hide behind trees and kiss girls.
I mean.
What?
Yeah.
Who were you trying to kiss in the first?
First grade.
When I was in the first grade, every girl in there but one was my girlfriend.
In your mind?
No, I asked them all.
They said they would be.
Really?
Yeah.
That was the end of his game era.
Yeah, my peak.
He peaked out in the first grade.
Dale, who was like your, do you remember like your first girlfriend's name?
Yeah.
I do.
Not going to say it, but I do.
They were, uh, she, um,
I can't, it was, there was, there were twins and it was one of the twins.
And I can't remember which one of the twins it was.
Oh, you dirty dog.
Wait, were you dating both?
I was 12.
You were 12, I thought we were in the first grade.
We were in the, now we're 12.
Like real girlfriend.
You had a real girlfriend when you were 12 years old.
Yeah.
And you dated a twin with an identical twin and you don't remember which twin you dated?
Yep.
Do you remember both of their name?
separately like just remember but you don't remember which twin.
I got pictures.
Really?
Yes.
Golly, it's like 1995.
No, you were 12 in 80s.
Yeah.
Shit.
Get back a whole decade, Amy.
This is probably like a polaroid that shot out of the camera.
1985.
Yeah, it might be a Polaroid.
It has to be.
Yeah.
I've got a, so they lived,
I would bet that it's a real good chance that this will get back to one.
They probably still live in town.
No, they live in the middle.
I think they live in the Midwest somewhere now.
How do you know where all your ex-girlfriends live?
That's kind of weird.
We talked about the high school girlfriend too,
and you know that she doesn't live here anymore either.
You know where all your ex-girlfriends live?
No.
Just the important ones.
Just the ones that, like, were real.
Just the ones that kissed me.
So.
I don't know where any of my exes live.
In Texas.
Up there at Memo's house, where Shelley lives,
that used to be dad's shop.
And so I would beg dad to take me to his race shop.
And there were kids that lived on the block.
Monroe was my best friend.
His name, real name's Walter, boss.
And he was Rick's nephew.
And so he lived at the back of the block.
And man, every, we played hard.
We ran all over the place, all over that neighborhood, wide ass open.
Playing, play, playing.
And there were other kids on the block.
and these two girls moved into the front of the block with their mom.
And they kind of slowly became part of the crew.
There were probably four or five of us,
and they just kind of become part of the crew.
And we all played.
We just ran to the Dairy Queen or whatever.
And we'd had, we'd play hide and seek on the entire block, you know,
for hours and hours and hours or whatever.
And so, and I got a crush on one of them, one of the girls.
and asked her if she'd be my girlfriend.
And so for the summer or something,
it was just like holding hands walking around,
eating ice cream, whatever.
I think that's so funny that you-
Then she wrote me a little letter that says she didn't want to be my girlfriend.
Do you still have the letter?
No.
If you have the letter, I got to see this.
Oh, no.
She wrote it on like a girl.
Is it in your box?
No, no, no.
But so we...
I'm going to go look in the box.
We took pictures.
I have Polaroids.
We took pictures of us while we're all being friends.
for all this time.
There's a picture of all of us on Mamma's porch.
We were playing in the front yard that day.
And so that's where I've got a couple of pictures of her and her sister.
And...
Which we'll never know which one's which?
The one that got away.
They probably won't.
It was Janet and Jana.
I don't remember their last name.
But you don't remember which one you dated either.
I don't.
So here's the thing.
I've never dated a twin.
how do you have a crush on one and not both?
Their personality.
That's a great question.
Maybe they were screwing with you the whole time.
Maybe you kind of dated both of them.
Well, the other sister was, like when the one wrote me the note that she wouldn't want to,
didn't want to be my girlfriend anymore.
The other one was actually standing in line?
No, she was just, hang.
She was like, man, she's being goofy.
Don't worry about her.
But like in a friend way, we're all friends.
No, she was lying for your attention.
I know.
I'm just messing with you.
And so, listen.
We used to call that going around at that age.
Will you go around with me?
Oh, man.
And you held hands at lunch.
That was it.
And we go to the public pool.
That was back when, you know, we were public pooling and all that.
In excess was playing on the radio, you know, all the great 80s music and shit.
So fast forward to probably, I don't know, I'm 24 or five.
and me and Monroe still talk.
I have his phone number.
He can text me any day of the week and I'd answer it.
And so if I don't, we don't talk often, but, you know, he texts me when they goes,
hey, Jana or Jana is coming back into town to see some people and she's going to stop by and say,
hey, I don't know if you wanted to come by.
And so I did.
I showed up at Monroe's house.
and she was there,
that she looked completely,
I wouldn't have recognized her.
Yeah,
she actually grew up.
She wasn't 12.
This is now 15 years later.
Yeah.
Or so.
And so that was,
it was just funny because,
you know,
you don't,
you have.
You have this image in your mind.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And they,
you know,
they moved away and I thought I'd never see them again.
Right.
But so,
um,
that was pretty,
that was pretty cool.
Um,
Yeah.
Is that,
do we have any more questions?
That's a great one.
Amy,
I'm wondering on recess,
did boys,
like I remember when I was growing up,
like he'd pick on the girls
that you had crushes on it,
like,
did that happen to you on recess?
Like,
did girls know that too,
that that's what was going on?
Yes.
If you have any,
like dad or grandfather
or anyone in your family,
like you go home and you tell them
so-and-so is chasing me or whatever,
didn't like my ponytail or whatever.
They tell you that's because
they probably have a crush on you.
Yeah.
There were a couple of,
boys, I was pretty scrappy at that age. And I remember kicking some boy in the shin in the first
grade because he wouldn't leave me alone in my dress shoes. It was picture day. He must have said
something about my dress or my shoes or something. And I kicked him straight in the shins. And I
remember that vividly. Wow. Yeah. I mean, he's lucky he didn't go somewhere else for the kick.
Could have been nights out for him. No, I knew better than to do that. I didn't want to get in like real
trouble. But he didn't mess with me anymore after that. Crush over. This girl's mean.
And yeah.
Or he liked you more.
Well, maybe.
I guess just could have gone either way.
Yeah, no, he didn't bother me after that.
Last question with it getting cold out.
At what temp do you start opening up windows?
I am already just like, I don't, I just leave the doors open.
That's what we do.
We'll, we don't open windows, but we will open doors.
We'll leave the front door right open, back door open, let the breeze through.
Let the house breathe.
Yeah, let the house.
Gus likes to sit on the front door mat too.
Like, he will sit outside on the porch, but he will sit outside on the porch, but he
would rather be in the house with the door open looking out.
Everybody's very particular.
I think when it gets in the mid-70s,
it's fair to open the house, let it breathe for a few minutes.
We're going to find that you know, that crispy feel in the morning.
In the mornings.
Yeah.
and like let the clean air
burping the house
Yeah
that's the term
laying in the house
breathe burping the house
called farting the house
You farting in the house
You call it farting the house
Yeah, letting some air out
wanting some gas out
Well I guess it kind of is both
You're letting the stinky air out
Yeah I see it
Yeah I'll tell you something that we
That helped our house a lot
That people couldn't look into
but me and Amy like I like to have the bedroom freezing.
Like I go up there.
The last couple nights I went up to the bedroom.
The thermostat's red 66 degrees.
And so 68's kind of like what we try for,
but sometimes it gets a little cooler in there.
But the rest of the house is not as cold.
So we keep the bedroom.
The bedroom's this little space that is always colder than the rest of the house.
And, you know, we don't, we keep the rest of the house.
We do around 71, 70 degrees.
72 to 704.
Sometimes.
So the basement, I keep it.
If the main floor of the house is going to be 72, I do the, you know, I drop the basement down a degree because heat rises.
So, you know, you work in the main level harder if you're right.
running the basement temperature at the same.
So anyways, I cool the basement and that doesn't,
and that allows the main floor not to have to run as hard
because the air conditioner from the basement is getting pulled up
by through the return and the vents and everything into the main floor.
It's just the way houses sometimes work.
And so if, as you layer your house in temperature,
you, you layer it cooler.
You set the thermostat's cooler the lower you go.
But we have this bedroom on the top floor
and it's the one we want to be the coldest,
but it's at the highest point in the house where the heat rises.
Any of the warm air is going.
And so we had a really hard time with the vent sweating and all of that
and keeping that room cool.
The sun sets on that side of the house.
The sun sets over there, so it warms the side of the house right before bedtime.
Very hot.
We had a lot of, what do you call that when the vents are sweating?
condensation.
So we had a lot of things going on.
We sealed the baseboards.
And so not all houses do that.
Now, you might seal the baseboards with paint,
especially in an older house.
But a lot of newer houses,
the baseboards are just tacked in.
They're not cocked and all that.
They're not cocked or anything.
And so we had somebody come in there
and seal with a clear silicon,
the baseboard to the floor
and then the top of the baseboard to the wall.
wall. And I'm going to tell you right now, man, that changed everything in our house in terms of how
hard our HVAC works and how easy it is to control the temperature in different sections of the house.
That was a cool thing. I don't know. Maybe someone will learn. You could feel the draft. You can still
feel it in some places like the kitchen sink. There's like a draft that comes through, but you could
feel it at the baseboards, which is so weird. And the air conditioning pumping the air through
the house was pulling it from the outside somewhere through the, through the cracks in the
floors.
My apartment in college, we had to put like plastic over the windows because the air that
would come in.
It was ridiculous.
Yeah.
We just feel the windows.
Speaking of apartments, you hear the dogs back.
But then I called and then I hadn't heard the dog the rest of the night.
And they were going to talk to the office and I don't.
I just want the dog to be okay.
Have you seen the dog?
No.
If I lived next door at this point.
Can you set up a ring camera?
Is that allowed?
But I'd go get one of these, so they make these at Bass Pro Shops.
I'm like, if I lived next door, I would go to Bass Pro Shops.
You're talking about like a deer cam?
Nope.
Yes.
If I was your neighbor with the dog and you kept calling me about it,
I'd go to Bass Pro Shops and get one of them animal calls.
And they have these animal calls to have all these different animals like rabbit in distress,
squirrel into stress, this, that another.
And I would play a different animal.
every night, it'd be a different animal.
I'd have all kinds of animal sounds and I would just be playing them.
Just to mess with Travis?
Just to mess with Travis.
The problem is though there's a way for them to get to their door without passing mine.
So if I have like a ring camera, they could still get in and out and I could not see them.
If you're a neighbor of Travis with the dog, get your dog to shut up.
Play and play the owl.
Play the owl recording tonight.
Let's have a hoot owl.
Let's lose it.
Next door to Travis.
Someone was like, you should play music.
back. I'm like, I don't think they're there.
Elk bugling.
But we'll see.
They don't really sell that, do they?
Yeah. I mean, an elk
call, I could understand. But like
a squirrel? Why would they sell a squirrel and distress sound?
Because it draws in the fox, in the coyote.
Do people hunt those?
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, I know people shoot them because they're a nuisance or if they're
out during the day, like they're probably sick. That's why you, that's hunting them.
I know, but not for sport.
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Not for sport.
You could, though.
I mean, you can mount a fox.
I've seen foxes mounted, but.
I mean, hell, there's a squirrel there that you could get any, shoot anything.
There was a squirrel on the road on the way.
Yeah.
And it didn't look too damaged.
And I thought, maybe we should get Destiny a partner.
That's not.
And then I thought better of it.
Man, great decision.
Well, I think this is a good spot in the show.
Thank you guys for listening.
If you've enjoyed it, hopefully you have.
Hopefully have.
