Hey, download listeners.
I want to tell you about a new podcast I'm excited about from Flea, founding member and
basis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
It's called This Little Light, and it's a podcast about falling in love with music.
Every Thursday, Flea talks with musical guests from all genres about their earliest musical
memories sitting in on conversations with guests like Rick Rubin, Anthony Akitius, Jewel, Tenacious D,
and many more.
You will find This Little Light, a presentation of Cadence 13 Studios now for free on The Odyssey.
app or wherever you're listening to your podcast.
Proceeds benefit the Silver Lake Conservatory of Music.
Here's a sneak peek.
This is Flea for This Little Lake, a podcast about falling in love with music.
I started a non-profit music school about 20 years ago called the Silver Lake Conservatory
of Music.
And the reason that I started doing this podcast was to benefit the school, but it's specifically
also about music education, because every single person, and I'm not.
meet so many musicians from someone who doesn't even know what a scale is or an eighth note to
someone who plays with the Philharmonic or someone who's a deeply sophisticated jazz musician.
And everybody has a different way.
Everyone has a different educational path.
And every single one of them is so interesting, fascinating to me, and so valid.
And this little light, I'll be speaking with Rick Rubin.
Thundercat, Stuart Copeland, Margot Price, Corey Henry, Cynthia Arrivo, Sheila E.
One of my favorite people on the entire planet, Patty Smith.
Do you remember when you first started listening to music and you knew what was making what sound?
Like, oh, that's the bass, that's the guitar, that's a saxophone?
No, I truthfully, I've never been like that.
I'm a performer.
I don't have the mindset of a musician.
My mind is filled with words, not so much sound or notes.
But I'm moved by music.
Please listen and follow This Little Light, a presentation of Cadence 13, on the
the Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts.
I think we got it.
