But anyway, I start going down, and I am fucking flying.
No.
Like insane.
For a newbie?
For a new?
I can't be going 60 miles per hour down.
Yeah, exactly.
Exactly.
There's no shot.
You were doing 60.
In my head, it was at least 100.
No, I was doing it.
I was going 60, bro.
I was telling you.
Let's get this started.
The Flycast.
Welcome back to the Flycast episode, 692.
Nice.
It's an honor, man.
Matt's giving me the head nod.
That is what it is.
Today's a special one.
Why?
Because we don't ever have guests.
But today we actually do have guests and it's, and it's TSD.
Hey.
Happy to be here, man.
Let's go.
Well, we're missing Hitch.
I know.
Yeah.
Unfortunately.
I would love to sit down with all three of you.
Yeah.
Maybe soon enough.
Got to work with what we got.
Hitch is down for the count right now.
I don't, I guess he's,
To be honest, I thought he was faking sick.
Yeah, he was good the first day.
Well, he wanted to watch the USA game.
Yeah.
And Paige was like, do you think he's?
And I was like, yeah.
I vouched for him.
Well, it's funny, he texted that same thing before the trip.
Remember?
He's like, oh, I'm going to get sick for the USA game on the group text.
Yeah.
You remember that?
You remember that?
I remember him saying, can we please not schedule anything for that time?
And then Paige was like, we can't reschedule and stuff.
Yeah, we can, like, it's whatever.
And then he was like, oh, no, I'm sick.
Like, hold up.
He went from, here we are.
He went from beer pong, ready vods to, like, basically sweating and throwing out.
Yeah, I wonder if we could.
There has to be one clip from that stream where everyone's just like, wow, it's just drunk.
Yeah.
And then we just blame it on that.
Well, I think I remember.
I think he was trying on, like, Oakley stuff.
And he was so God, dude.
I mean, it couldn't have helped.
There's no way that it was just out.
alcohol.
Yeah.
I just remember him making,
making a sentence,
and he said,
he was talking about two different people.
One was Nick and one was Maniac.
But I think he meant to say,
he's not a good look for your boy.
Because me and Hitch were playing together
in the beer pong.
How did that go, by the way?
I think he meant to say himself
and Maniac or Nick or something,
but he just said Maniac and Nick
or something didn't win a game,
blah, blah, blah.
But once I heard him say that,
I was like, wow, Hitch is drunk.
And then we didn't see him
for the rest of the weekend.
Literally,
We just saw him.
He just walked downstairs and was like, hey guys.
We got here, what is today?
Wednesday?
Today's Wednesday.
So we got here Monday.
We got here Monday.
Monday night was like the TSD beer pong stream.
Then you had cam 2 on Twitch.
dot TV slash BCH mania.
It was a banger, by the way.
Yeah.
That was a good night.
That was a good night to start at all.
To start, yeah.
I didn't even drink that night.
Somehow today became my drinking day, but.
After a hot tub stream.
Bro.
We're going to get it.
into how exhausted I feel right now.
The hot tub didn't help.
The snowboarding.
Dude, I don't mean.
Toronto's had snowboarding.
Bro.
It was something else.
We went, we started off on the little side station
over the bunny slope.
The bunny slope.
I felt my confidence got too high.
Yeah, dude, that's what I'm about to get to.
And the instructor was hyping me up.
Yeah, exactly.
So he was like, oh, you're looking good.
Are you ready?
We could go up and I was like,
I'm, you know, I'm going down the bunny slopes.
I'm breaking.
nicely I'm doing all right. I'm like, all right.
With the occasional rest. Yeah.
Mid slope. That video,
George Reagan is just down the ground like this holding on.
And I just see George.
Yeah. What's fun is the instructions like, you need a break? I'm like, yeah, I need a break.
But anyways, and then we decided to go to the big one, like to the actual mountains.
So we went up the ski lobe. And I was like, and then before we went up there, the instructor,
and the instructor was like, you're down to go. Like, he talked to me and lucid.
because Tommy and I were like the same level
me and Tommy
well you could make it up
true all right so there's the
step one
is this automatic thing that just takes you up
the littlest light the moving side wall
it takes you up itself
you just literally stand on it
but it's the littlest baby slope
but then the second one is the one that pulls you
and that's a baby slope
yeah that's a baby slope
but it's not if you've
never snowboarded before it's not the easiest thing and yesterday was all three of our first
time snowboarding all three of us yeah i mean i yeah i know it was a lot of people were i snowboarded i
think when i was like 17 okay okay so what what's that 28 years ago day oh something quick math
somebody yeah quick math 40 so it was it was a long time so carry the two so about 40 years ago is when
i snowboarded at age 17 um and i haven't touched it since so i
I might as well have been new.
Honestly, it was, yeah, it was, I was better then
than what I was now.
Yeah.
It was bad.
Well, I mean, my age showed.
You're 17, you can just do whatever you want.
You just bounce off stuff.
You get up and you have the energy for everything.
Yeah, at 17, you don't even like, you might fall when you're snowboarding,
but it's like you pretty much just like do like a, oh, no, boom.
Oh, somehow I'm back up and I'm going down.
You just chug milk and bounce off concrete when you're 17.
You don't need a feeling, dude.
You're back up.
So, haven't snowboarded some.
since then.
Well,
was that your first time,
first time?
That was my first time.
Really?
Yeah.
No,
trust me.
Blake was sort of a natural.
He got the hang of it quick.
I was hoping,
because I wakeboard at home,
not like constantly,
but enough.
It helped.
Is Casey Nice that used?
I could see you having one.
What's he used?
Boosted board,
yeah.
No, Blake's always had like skateboards and like
all this sort of stuff.
I love board sports.
I've just never snowboarded.
Blake's always done all that type of stuff.
Yeah, I'm sure that helps it.
I don't know.
Does it fucking help?
Wakeboarding help the most.
It felt pretty similar to wakeboarding for me,
except like the whole use your toes to turn thing.
It was just having your feet locked into something.
I was thankful to have that experience before.
So step two is when we're learning to like use our toes and shit.
Learning how to break and stuff.
So we're going down this like baby hill and we're still falling.
I thought I was going quick.
I mean, like in my head, I'm like, damn,
I was going to like 30, 40 months per hour.
But realistically, it might have been like a slight jog.
But I was still falling.
But I kind of got the hang of it.
And that was the, I guess, I don't know the names of the hills.
Like if it's a training hill, a bunny hill,
I don't know the names of it.
But we were, some of us were struggling with it.
I felt pretty comfortable with it.
And I was, I thought I was,
using my toes and shit right but all of that went out the window when we went to the first the first
the real hill how is for one yeah how was that the first real hell that was the first real hell that was the
how was that hill number one the green yeah so i was learning the levels too so it's like green blue
and then black as far as i know wait so the so we were on like the bunny slope at first
where we just learn that's where like people don't even people don't people don't ski there if you've
never done it before that's where you're right yeah to practice and that's where you're on the base
there.
But no one goes there to like ride that.
No.
Because it's so pathetic.
Well, yeah.
So then we went to, wait, did you say that was green or blue?
The green.
The green.
So we were on the blue.
The one that we took the lift up to at the end of the day was green.
Okay.
So the blues are for.
The blue is what we went this morning.
No, the blues second level.
Oh, shit.
We were on the green yesterday.
Dude.
What the for?
Yeah.
You went to the blues today?
Yeah.
Well, I went this morning because we went to the greens.
We went to the green.
and then I remember right
Black?
Yeah, they were all closed.
Oh my God.
Okay, so there's
the little, there's the idiot slope
which is step one if you're a complete
idiot. If you have legs,
you can get past that.
If you have a brain, you can get past step two.
But then they just skyrocket you
to step number three
and have you going down an entire
fucking mountain.
It was a huge difference.
It was an insane difference.
It was an insane difference.
It didn't make sense.
I almost feel like we might have skipped something.
We skipped those steps, I feel like.
Trust me, trust me.
It needs to be like a light green.
All right, so Blake and the instructor, Brad and I, we all took the lift together.
And he's like, all right, just get in stand up.
And they'll tell you when to sit.
We sit.
All right, we sat down.
We're going up.
We didn't even take the bar down.
Dog.
The bar.
We're just going.
Our instructor's been, he'd been skiing snowboard.
I was with Matt.
He was like, we didn't take the bar down.
I didn't know about that.
He's been there for 28 years.
He's been around the block.
Our instructor?
Yeah.
And so we're going.
Like, we're just talking about life.
Talking about life.
Like, how long you've been doing it?
He's not even thinking about the bar.
No.
No, not at all.
He never even mentioned it.
I didn't even realize you could until the next day.
I thought about that.
I was like, what if I just grab Matt?
Exactly.
Yeah, no, I look down and it's like, you know, a couple stories.
And I was like, I could just leave right now.
You will maybe survive?
Yeah.
No.
going through a thing. It depends where you fall off.
Yeah, it depends. Yeah, so
we're going up there and I'm like, I guess it's normal.
We just leave it open. We're just going down
this lift. And then Blake and
him are talking about something and five
seconds before we have to get
off. I'm like, yo, how do we get off?
I don't know. He goes, oh, good call.
You just like stand out when they tell you
and then you push off with your board. And I'm like, all right.
Dude, he literally, he didn't
breathe. He was there, basically.
We became cool with him. We were talking. I was like
talking about his kids, you know, like how long he started.
He was hyping me up.
So like, no, no, he was cool.
But he was just a, he was just a bro for sure.
It was, does that make him a bad instructor?
He's, he's putting in our heads like, because he was 70, he was like, well, I think some of us are ready.
He was like, I think some of us are ready.
Yeah.
But, you know, as a group, we should stay together.
Yeah.
I think, no, I think I'm ready for that shit.
So you're on the, did you fall?
Yes, we both ate it.
Oh, really?
Dude, it was literally like when the thing's pulling into the exit is like, ding, ding, ding, ding.
I was like, okay, just tell you way to get off and they just go to use your front foot.
And literally we both ate it, bro.
Aided off the live.
Dude, as soon as I got up, I was like, my confidence was like straight down.
Yeah, right.
You full sent it right after that.
Dude, no, I full sent it.
No, Blake Toll, like, tell him.
We're, so wait.
No.
Dude, it was literally like, we're, I don't know if you were with us, but it was like, okay, it was like, it was like, it was like, it was like, it was like, it was like,
and Sebas and you were like the news and we have like we had like Maddie and then our instructor
and so our instructor Dave was like you know like Brad Brad I think is Brad right right um was like
yo uh we're gonna go like right down this way cut left and then let's try and stay together so we
can get some good footage and we're like okay cool a George just buckles in sends it bro
no he says all right we're ready to go I literally get up on my board and I straight I'm going
no one's going with me it's like to watch you get up it's like wow I guess I'm going
Exactly.
He eats shit down the hill.
He eats shit on the first hill.
No, I'm telling you that that's the only fall that I had that day.
rattled you.
They're like rattled you.
I literally stayed on the vault.
Did you say you hit a tree?
Yeah.
I ended up.
I ended up in the woods.
When on what slope?
I ended up on the green or the bunny?
No, the big one.
Okay.
The green.
Yeah.
Dude.
So I went out with Matt.
Yeah.
And...
Well, he gave me some tips on how to get off.
So I survived that.
I was sorry.
This is.
Well, I mean, to be honest, it's like a one minute lift up the mountain.
So I'm like, this whole entire thing, I'm like, what the, compared to what we were at, this was insane.
It was night and day.
I was like, there's, no.
It goes from level one, two to ten.
But even at the, I still don't know what to call it, the bunny slip or whatever we were learning at, I was even doing like this little like.
You were feeling like.
I was doing like a little tail whip.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
I don't just like moving my hips.
I'm moving the board.
So I was like, I think I got this.
But I'm going out with Matt on the lift.
We get up there.
I think it was me, Matt, and someone else.
But anyways, I pretty much, I strap in.
I think we were maybe talking about getting a shot or whatever.
But basically I strap in, I'm like, just go left right here.
He's like, yeah.
I was like, all right.
And he might have said like, I'm just the same one.
telling you i don't know if it was matter shawson i thought someone was like following behind me trying
to like yeah but anyway i start going down and i am fucking flying yeah no like insane
i was scared shitless like i don't know how to slow down dude i don't understand you and i are on the
same boat so i'm doing good but i'm going so fast to where it's like if i like you start overthinking
you're like wait how do i slow down you're like wait how do i slow down you're
Once you think about eating it, it's rough.
It's just, I'm going too fast.
Yes.
To where it's like.
For a newbie, I can't be going 60 miles per hour down.
Yeah, exactly.
Exactly.
There's no shot.
You were doing 60.
In my head, it was at least 100.
No, I was doing, dude, I was going 60, bro.
I was telling you.
Okay.
It was.
Dude, it really sounds like the same hill that you both ate shit on.
Oh, no, it had to be.
It's like, you got shit.
I ate shit 10 times before I got to the bottom.
Okay, but like when you ended up in the woods.
I really thought of unstraughts.
unstrapping and walking down.
No.
So this is what happened.
You ready?
You ready?
You ready?
All right.
So I fall down the first time, right?
And I get up and the instructor's like, you're good?
I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm good.
I didn't have anyone.
Yeah, no.
I go straight back down.
I'm going 60, 70, dude.
And the instructions is yelling at me, put your heels down.
I'm like, what?
Dude, ate it again.
And then he comes up to me.
He comes up to me.
He's like, it's not late to go back.
It's the only time on...
But like, what's going back?
Is like a jet skis?
No, no, you go back to the lift.
I keep saying jet ski.
No, you go back to the lift and it takes you back.
Like walk up?
Yeah, you walk up and it takes you back to the lift.
That's what I'm saying.
I'm like, dude, I can't do that.
I'm not walking up that mountain.
When we got on the lift, they asked George, they were like, do we need a sled?
And I was like, what does that mean?
And they were like to go get him.
That's before they even saw him go down the hill, bro.
I mean, that's pretty much where I was at.
So the first, I'm absolutely.
flying down.
And I think Matt said he saw me go.
He was like, oh, he's good then.
Like, I'm fucking fun.
I'm sure, like, I'm sure from behind, it's just like, oh, he's chilling.
Yeah.
From behind, I'm like in this stance.
You're getting a little bit of death wobble in there?
From this stance, I'm like, oh my fucking God.
It's the same thing.
Wait, did you have like a preferred side, like toe or heel?
Well, I was, I was left foot in front.
Because I ride goofy.
So if I wanted to stop.
I'm lifting my left foot
and it's like doing that.
That's your preferred one?
So it would be like a heel side turn, I guess,
from what I was saying?
Dude, I don't know.
Yeah.
See, that's what we're not good.
The only thing I took from that is like
to sort of stop is like lift up your left toe.
Yeah.
But then you got to lift the other one too, right?
See, but I lost it.
I was like, wait, how do I?
Then I feel like I'm going to eat it every time.
That, dude, I'm telling you the entire.
It was a 20-minute downhill ride.
Oh, no.
me, so I fell like three times in a row because I was going 60 every time.
And the instructor was like, all right, you need help.
So me and me and the instructor brat, we held hands like almost all the way down.
I have a video of them literally.
I'm not even kidding.
They're holding shoulders like two middle school people at a prom going down the hole.
I wasn't going to make it.
I was on my way back up.
Dude, you know.
Okay.
Now imagine no one helping you.
Dude, you were stranded out there.
I'm telling you, like, Matt's, like, I got people.
and I'm like, all right, I'm going to boom, hop on.
I do the little left and I start going down there.
I'm fucking flying, freaking out.
I'm like, and I don't really know,
because I guess to slow down, you're like sort of doing that S shit.
Yeah.
But I know how to go left because I'm lifting my left toe.
But once I go left, I'm just fucking, I'm just breaking with both my heels in the ground.
So pretty much that whole way down, I just like kept sort of going more left, more left, more left.
And then eventually I fucking eat shit.
And I'm just like in the middle of like two different slopes.
And I just like completely, I'm talking like somersault.
Yeah.
Did you fall forward or backward?
I fell backward every single time.
Dude, those hurt.
I never, I couldn't fall forward.
I wanted to fall forward.
I couldn't.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I didn't know how to fall forward.
Because you said you didn't turn right.
And that's the only way you would have fell forward.
I would turn right.
So like I would do my heel thing.
I'm on my heels and then like I would like fall back like that.
But then I would start going like this and I'm like,
shit, I'm going too much left.
So I'm putting both my toes down.
Then I start going this way and then just fucking fall back from the right.
But basically I wipe out in the middle of the first little hill of the fucking mountain.
And then it was literally like a somersault backflip, tailbone straight into the fucking snub.
I get up.
I probably go 10 more feet and I wipe out again.
I get up again.
Your confidence was so shot, dude.
Well, I get up again and I'm like pretty much I'm just,
I just know I'm headed left.
And I don't know how to get right.
So I get up again and I just, I can't.
I'm just going left.
Like the mountain is going down this way.
Yep.
I'm aiming here in the woods are here.
And I'm just going this way.
so I just head straight into the fucking woods
I fully heal
like just imagine an entire forest
the slopes going this way
and I'm healing straight right here
into the just I fool woods
and I just fucking heal
I fucking somersault backflip
head sit in the log
and then I just
it was my first like bad bad wipeout
and it fucking hurt
to be honest I don't know
that shit could have went bad
I feel like something bad
I don't, maybe people do get hurt, but they just like get up and get down the hill somehow.
But I don't understand how people, how there aren't more injuries.
But maybe people find out after.
It's probably just not on the green slopes, low key.
Honestly, like, I don't know how.
If I didn't have Brad, I would have had an injury for sure, like something.
So that was my first crash.
And that was, that was maybe a fourth down.
A sixth?
Did you get yourself out of the woods?
How did you eventually get down?
I was literally in the woods like this.
You just give up for a couple seconds.
My head was on a tree somehow.
Matt, I see, I'm like, oh my God.
I'm probably sitting there for a minute.
And then I see Matt come down the hill.
And I'm like, Matt, Matt.
And he's, I'm this way.
And he's looking at everything.
He's looking just right.
And then I hear someone from the lift, yo, behind you.
Like yelling at Matt.
Yeah.
And then like, Matt's like, what the fuck?
and turned around and I'm just in the
You're in the woods
Literally in the fucking woods like this
So he just sits there
And then I like unbuckle
And then just you unbuckled
Just my right foot
Okay so then I just like push to the middle
Of the mountain
Okay with Matt
And then basically I just kept falling
From then on out
I didn't I didn't fall
That's such a good clip
I didn't fall from I didn't fall back into the woods
But it's like just not
Fucky stop
It's just like every fifth
50 feet you were just eating it.
Before I went on that mountain, I was like, this is dope.
Like, I'm glad I'm did this.
My confidence is high.
Like, I feel pretty cool.
And then I go to that and I'm like, that, like, it was like embarrassing.
Like it was.
And it wasn't fun.
Nope.
It hurt.
That was my, that was my entire.
I fell backwards one time and it hurt the most.
I felt backwards every single time.
No, I'm telling you.
say I fell at least 10 times?
I mean at least 10 times.
Oh, I did too.
Even when, like, I think Matt went down
with someone else.
Shostin fucking comes up out of nowhere.
We're smiling.
And then I think he was with me for a second.
I'm fucking crashing with him.
He goes down a little bit.
I'm like, all right, jump up.
And then I go down a little bit.
And I'm trying, I'm just like,
I'm trying to go slow, but I just can't.
I just keep crashing.
Like, it was bad.
I just couldn't slow down, dude, every time I got on the board.
It's either going zero or a hundred every time.
And then eventually everyone just passes me.
And then it's just me and Ellie.
And I'm just wiped out on the ground.
This is like my 12th crash.
My tailbone hurts.
My wrist hurts.
I'm contemplating everything.
Like all confidence loss.
And then here's Ellie going like three miles per hour.
Just passing me.
I know it's just like first or something.
second time. I was shredding him on the first bunny hills. I'm like, Ellie's trash. I'm nasty.
And then here he comes fucking eight miles per hour. Just doing slow somehow.
Dude, me and Brad were going down together, like slowly like five miles away. And he comes Blake
again for the second time. Dude. I'm like, all right, dude. Yeah, Ellie. Yeah, Ellie's just going,
I'm literally wiped out. We're almost to like the bunny slopes where we were at. I see Ellie pass
me. I'm.
hop back going and somehow i just i don't know what i lost all confidence i think and i just
kept crashing like even alley passes me i jump back on and i'm like trying to do it i'm like putting
my toes down trying to just do something and i'd crash again yeah get back up crash again and
every single time was on my tailbone it was fucking stressful that sounds so rough i felt like
when i got back yesterday i literally felt like i had gotten a fight
played a game of like full contact football yeah played a full game of basketball like everything
was sore i was actually like worried for a little bit i was like my because i fell them every
every single fall i fell on my tailboat oh that was the worst one i had every single fall i was
yeah because remember i would because blake was with me and i literally went down the hill and i
fell backwards that was the first time i ever gone backwards and i'm like oh do that hurt like i got
I sit this one out for a bit.
How else, how were you?
Because I will use my toes to slow down.
So I will lean in and look towards the mountain, I guess.
And then you'd like fall.
Yeah, dude.
Exactly.
I would do that and then just like somehow backflip onto my back.
No, I try to do that the first time.
I don't know how I just fell on my ass.
All right.
Dude, I, yeah, I couldn't figure it out.
I was literally, I don't think I ever fell on front.
Just all tailbone.
the whole time that entire time.
How was your experience?
Yeah, I was gonna say, what was it like for you?
When, I mean, when we were all doing the bunny slope and training stuff, I mean, I felt super
uncomfortable.
Like, just trying to figure out the whole toe turn thing and everything.
I felt confident.
That's what pisses me off.
I felt good once I got on the green.
Once we started picking up pace, it felt better to me.
On the big one?
Yeah, the one that we did the chair on.
Yeah.
Well, because it was just like, when we were going slow, I just,
couldn't get any momentum and I couldn't move and I just kind of topple over.
I felt like the man on those on those slope.
On the bunny slopes.
I felt like the man.
And then, yeah, all the, I mean, the people that had like boarded and skied before were like,
yo, let's go again tomorrow.
We have, you know, four hours in the morning.
And I was like, if I can walk, I'd love to go.
And then woke up and got to go with them.
So.
Yeah, woke up, heard the fucking your alarm going off.
Yeah.
Was I awake?
I think I was awake.
I think you were.
Yeah.
I was going to think about going today.
But I was like, I'm just going to be on the buddy slopes all day.
If I go.
I was thinking about, I had no intentional going today at all.
I mean, I didn't go, but I had no intention on going.
Then I got up, went upstairs and everyone's, this was like 7.30 or something.
Blake's up.
A few of the production guys are up.
And they're all going to go.
Because somehow our production team is a fucking shred squad.
Yeah, they're all good.
Somehow they're all just from fucking.
They're just watching us all eat shit with the cameras.
And they're just watching all the red jackets just fall over and over.
I mean, to be honest, how, I don't know how, I don't know if we got a video from that because it was supposed to be like optic, I don't know.
Well, I mean, it's like learn snowboard or something.
But like, I don't, that wouldn't have been possible if like they didn't know how.
Yeah, true.
They will have to like know how to.
Like, how do we randomly have three different camera people that can know how to go down a fucking mountain?
Yeah.
Um, so yeah, woke up.
So all are you guys going?
The kitchen was live at 7.30.
I've never seen that many gamers up together that early.
There was like eight people in there.
He's making bacon.
I'm whipping out coffee.
That is kind of weird.
Like, for a gamer.
Andrea was making omelette.
She made me oatmeal.
Ellie's up there.
Everyone's having a coffee.
It was so live.
Especially for like a gamer house.
Yeah.
You go to any other or go somewhere.
You don't see anybody till noon.
They're league legends players or something.
It's 2 p.m.
It's like you'll see the first person walk down.
I mean, that's how I live.
No, I was like full on.
It looked like a hallmark movie.
At 7.30 this morning, for real.
Yeah, it's kind of weird.
Because my life used to become polita.
The opposite.
I'd wake up at 9 p.m.
Like, fuck yeah, I'm about a grind in a night.
Dude, you missed the whole day.
And then you're up at 7.30 this morning making bacon for everybody in a ski lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado.
Crazy all shit changes.
So anyway.
Everyone's up and I caught you decided you were going I was like fuck should I go you were thinking
about it I could tell I was thinking about it um honestly like my my wrist legit hurts that's what
everyone says by the but I was like I was like trying to convince myself trying to catch yourself
I was trying to convince myself like I'm uh my muscle memory definitely like sort of rose so it's like
Maybe I'll go there and just be, hop on the board and be like,
actually, you know what?
Like, I'm actually not that bad.
But I don't know, I just kept getting flashbacks.
I wasn't horrible.
I mean, because the instructor was like,
yo, let's get the group that's a little more advanced and then let's go.
I think I just had a bad experience on that, on that fucking mountain.
And I think it's because I was by myself.
Once you get in your head, it's rough.
Yeah.
well I was gonna go today or this morning
but I kind of wanted to try skis
because apparently skis are just fucking easy
really I think Matt was like have you ever been ice skating before
I was like yeah I'm actually I used to be really good at like rollerblading
yeah I should have for sure gone skis then for sure
dude same like I'm not even kidding I should have gone skis
but I don't know why just snowboarding looks so
much cooler to me.
Dude, I'm telling you, though.
Like, even if you're good at skiing, it's like
all right. But you see a snowboard
you're like, oh, I do shreds.
If you're good at skiing, it's like being good at
like. Oh no.
Rest in peace, all the skiers
in the comments, bro.
I'm not even going to say it. No, don't say it.
I should have gone skiing.
Maybe skiing's where I should
be. Yeah. Dude, there were some people
shredding this morning on skis.
They look, I mean, if you know what you're doing
and you're doing it, yeah, that looks fun.
Bro, actually, this reminds me.
When I wiped out, fucking head in the trees,
fucking, I'm in the forest, chilling.
You're gonna create a fire to.
I finally get out.
Eventually I wipe out again, and then I'm just laying there.
Everyone ditched me.
I'm just in the middle of the mountain.
No one ditched you went by yourself.
Families, families going past.
And then I see this like,
I see like four people coming down.
It's like this dad's coming down.
Like, help.
Like, teenagers.
coming down and then I see this eight-year-old
I'm wiped out like this
just on the fucking mountain just
literally like this I gave up
and then I hear this
or I see this
tiny little figure coming
down the mountain dressing like all pink
skiing
and then I start hearing music
this like
like Taylor Swift type music
I'm just laying there what the fuck
and it's just just
little girl probably
fucking eight years old on skis,
all pink outfit.
Just we.
Has a JBL hooked to her fucking pants?
No.
Yes, she did.
I don't know what kind of music.
I'm going to say Taylor Swift
because that's about probably what it was.
Just blasting Taylor Swift
five feet from me.
Just passing me doing like a
just spraying snow on me.
It's just this eight year old girl
all pink playing Taylor Swift
fucking spraying snow on me.
Was that, did that help?
Was it like motivation?
I think it was at that point.
I was like, can snowmobiles pick me up?
You're like, what's the signal for them to come get me on the snowmobile?
Because I don't know what it was.
People on the lift would see me.
Be like, you're right.
I'm like, I don't know.
Yeah.
What's funny is that I was on the ground for so long that this ski patrol guy came over to me.
He's like, you're good?
I'm like, yeah, we're good.
Was there like a patrol guy?
Yeah, he was like,
dressed in yellow i don't know but he just came up to me he's like yo you good
does he just like roam or does he have to get a call there were a ton of like they
probably called on me for sure there was a ton of like medics and they would just like start at the
top and then ski down and kind of look around as they went yeah when you would wreck where you just
like exhausted every time even on the like the little bunny hill i would see you just land in the
middle of the fucking bunny hill taking a fucking brady there no every time i ate it it took like
all my energy away getting up's not easy either
I actually learned how to get up.
That's one of the things I did learn.
How do you get up?
I will look towards the mount, I guess,
and then, like, put the board behind me.
And then I would, like, hit, I will, like, yep.
I will touch both my ankles and push up.
That was the, I was always, you know.
I would do.
Oh, no, no, no, no.
Yeah, I put the board behind me.
That's what I would do.
I bring my knees, grab the board, and then rock forward.
Yeah.
Fuck, what was I talking about before that entire?
The eight-year-old passing me.
Yeah.
Inspiring you.
I wanted to go skiing today.
Oh, yeah.
Because apparently skiing is just like, apparently, like ice skating or rollerblading or that actually might have been fun.
But no one, I was about to go with you guys.
Ellie was about to go as well.
He was like, no, I'm a snowboard.
I was like, well, I'm not going to.
I'm not going to be the only fucking skier.
Hilton was skiing.
Yeah.
If Elton, if someone, I just would have held the group back.
I've never been on skis before.
So it's like I would have pulled up.
Yeah.
Don't even know how to get in skis.
And then I would have had to start the whole.
You would have to learn a gun.
I would have to start.
It was a very efficient morning.
It was fast.
It was like we got there.
Did you go straight up the-
Got there buckled in.
We did the green as a warm up and then ran blue the rest of the time.
That's crazy.
And you didn't like wipe out or anything?
I wiped out like.
Did you ever hurt like hurt yourself?
Only falling like when we were talking to the instructor and then fell off the chair.
I like fell backwards and jam my thumb in the ground, but it wasn't that bad.
I never, I mean, I mean, I just never had like a true ass bone to mountain.
Dude, I had 10 in a row.
It was insane.
Trust me.
I'm with you there.
Most of my issue was like the, like right when getting up, like adjusting my goggles and everything, is like getting enough momentum to go where I wanted.
Once I started going, it was fine after that.
Like you could, I don't, I don't even, I still don't know.
how to go right.
Dude, this, like this morning, like, if I didn't have them in front of me this morning,
there's no way I went as fast as I did.
But I was like, I'm not getting left, so we were just cooking.
Really?
That sounds so much fun.
It sounds so cool.
We were cooking.
It sounds like once you're good at it, that sounds so much fun.
That must have been so cool.
That was that.
I think we did blue four times, back to back.
When you got on your board today, did you feel better than yesterday?
100% yeah yeah that happens with some shit fucking i don't know you already full send it the
first i'm like i'm not gonna full set i need this what it felt like i did a insane full body workout
so it's like i need a rest yeah yeah but i don't know it would it would be cool to fucking
no i definitely want to go again like falling that many times i'm like dude i just want to get good
at this like yeah it's it's so much fun yeah it looks so much fun once you get good at it
imagine i don't know it's i just recent or not recently but like a little bit ago i got a motor
or i guess called a motorcycle it's sort of like a dirt bike motorcycle thing it can technically go in
like the tollway like i think the max speed i've went was 87 but it was like at first going
20 miles per hour on that thing was like because it's my first like motorcycle dirt bike anything
and i've never wrote anything like that so it's
Even like going like 20 miles per hour, it's totally different than being in a car,
being on a roller coaster, or anything like that.
And then eventually just the more and more I rode it, I just felt more comfortable.
It didn't seem as crazy.
Eventually I started riding it on the tollway.
I don't even know if I told you, but I've rode it to Dallas a few times.
That's a ways.
I've gone like 87 miles per hour on like a fucking dirt bike for like 30.
minutes it's shaking drivers in texas are no joke either you're kind of wild for driving a bike in
the going speed is but it's i mean that's what i fucking the point is that's what i feel like when i'm
thinking of someone snowboarding down that fucking mountain because i don't know how fast i was going
probably a normal speed but in my head that was fucking insane yeah and i was also afraid of like
i don't know i just didn't know if like i could hit something or like my board randomly
and I just start
Somersawed
and like I didn't want
anything like
Like I didn't want to hit anyone
I didn't like there's like little
There's like big poles too
In the middle of it
Like you didn't want to hit that
You didn't want to hit the trees
Like
Like no
We went through this bit today
Cause we did like
We did the run like
Two or three times
And then Shaw was like
Yo if we go to the right
Like you can
There's like this thing that goes in
Between all these trees
Bro it was literally like
It was this
Dogg I literally felt like
I was riding a horse
It was literally like
Do do too through
it was like up down through the trees.
That sounds fun, right?
That was the most...
That was the most uncomfortable.
See, that's what I was...
I was thinking like, because I've been...
I thought of it, like, I've been
uncomfortable on my bike.
So it's like...
But for some reason, if I just, like...
I, like, force myself to just ride my bike,
I would...
I'd be scared at, like, red lights
to just, like, stall out and shit.
So it was, like, it was really uncomfortable at first.
Just, like, riding it on the streets.
But then eventually, when I just,
like force myself enough i would i would like force myself go to sleep wake up the next day maybe get on
it again i'm like wait i like feel good like i don't know it's like literally doing that sleeping
and then getting on the next day was would i was just just gained a little bit of confidence i
felt better about it i was like more confident for some reason it felt more natural and i was like
maybe that's what would happen today if i went back to the fucking mountains but maybe not i think you
would have but it was just like the the only thing
It was like, I mean, everyone there besides me in that group, because there were six of us this morning, they were like, all right, let's go actually ski.
And I was like, I've never done a blue.
Even, damn, I forgot.
You went, you went above where we were at.
Dude.
What's the high as you could go?
Yeah, what's the highest you could go?
Because I'm thinking, I'm thinking, wait, Blake made it down that mountain we were at.
Like, he was chilling the whole time, just cruising down.
The green chairlift was probably like a, what, five minute ride?
This one was like a 12 to 50.
It kept going and I was like,
Yo, we're not even there yet.
Jeez.
It was like the mountain.
But then there's something above that?
Yeah, and apparently anything above that was closed
because people were talking about like, you know,
oh, I wish a black was open or whatever,
but I think they were closed.
Oh, you were chilling with the snowboarders?
I was like, no, no, no, like it was like Hilton.
I just don't know.
He was like, yeah, I want to go on a black,
but they're closed right now and I was like, oh, damn.
Shut up Hilton.
You ain't going on no black.
He's like, oh, what a gun, but it's close.
Well, he was skiing, so.
Was that?
Yeah, yeah.
Exactly.
It's a little different.
I could have, I could have strapped on skis headed to black and I would have been chilling.
Yep.
Was the, it?
Was it mad steep?
Because the difference, the difference from the bunny to where we went.
All right, let me get this straight.
It's the bunny and then it's green.
Green.
Yeah, and then it's blue.
Was the, and then it's blue.
Was the, and then.
And then the green, like the bunnies literally a 20 second ride down.
Yeah, the bunny's like a just go over here and practice.
Yeah.
Well, I don't know how long it takes to get down because it took me about 20 minutes.
But I'm also crashing.
Yeah.
How long do it take you, Blake?
For what, the green?
How much longer was the blue?
Two to three times as long.
It was that much longer?
Yeah.
And steeper?
It was probably twice as steep.
Yeah.
There was a, well, there was like a couple areas that it was like,
I don't believe.
Well, it was like, you go over it like.
It doesn't get any steeper than moving.
Can we look at green?
The green has to be the highest.
I video myself going down the last time.
So I'll show you the trail.
I'm not doing any crazy shit.
I'm just staying on the board.
You said you filmed yourself?
Yeah, he did.
Like just holding the camera.
Like I'm holding it to my chest, like a GoPro.
What the fuck?
But no, there was like a couple parts where it was like all the yellow stuff.
And it was like, it said like people below, be careful.
because it was so steep you couldn't see over the lip.
So like when you go over the lip,
I would have been terrified.
The only reason I wasn't is because I was following them.
And I was like, they're going, I'm just going to follow them.
No.
Were you more confident?
Did you, were you trying to slow down?
Were you like doing any movements?
I asked, I s turned the whole way.
Really?
S turned the whole way.
What the fuck, man?
I told the instructor my goal was the S turn.
By the end, didn't do that.
And you still went up the lift?
Didn't do that.
No, I was using as much width of the slope as I could.
I mean, there were a couple of parts where you could just get it.
How do you turn right?
For you, me and George ride goofy, so right foot forward.
But for you, you'd want to turn right so you press your left toe down.
And you lift?
And anchor your back foot.
What does anchor mean in snowboarding turns?
Well, you're trying to, I mean, I've been snowboarding two days, so I'm not the guy to teach you, but it's like you're literally twisting the board.
Pretty sure that's what I did.
Something must have been wrong with my snowboard or something.
You know what it was.
It was the board or something.
Do you think you, well, if you mimic both feet at the same time, you'll eat bad.
You'll eat it, yeah.
Oh, so you always had to do a counter, right?
That's what I was doing for 12 straight.
Yeah, I think I was doing the same thing.
Because the back foot has to like keep the board on the ground and then you pivot the front front.
for it like a rudder on the front.
It's weird how much a snowboard will,
I don't know if the camera can see my toe,
but it's weird like how much a snowboard will move
just from going to like that.
Yep. Yep.
And then like you're like, oh, I'm going left.
And then it's like, let me go right.
Yep. Yep.
Yeah, that's fucking weird.
And then when you want to stop,
then you like get the turn and then you mimic the back foot.
And that's where you fall.
See, I,
yeah.
think, I don't know.
I think I got scared from the speed and then I kept going left.
So I was like, all right, if I'm pushing both toes down, I'm bound to go right.
Then I'd go right, but then I'd go right too much and then just fucking fall in my ass again, tailbone.
I think if you both took one more day on the greens, you'd be comfy.
Yeah, I think so too.
I think the problem I had too is like the instructor could tell me like to stand up more.
Because I kept like bending my knees way too low.
Once the speed.
Exactly.
I just hit the ground.
I'm not gonna stand like I'm comfortable.
I'm freaking the fuck out.
So like I'm sitting down to the ground to the board so I could get low to the like ground every single time.
You don't have to fall as fall.
Yeah, I'm like yeah, exactly.
That's how I felt because on the on the bunny slope I was I got cocky.
I felt like I was like started standing up straight.
Exactly.
I was chilling down this fucking little hill.
But then when I when I hit the green.
Yeah, you start crouching and stuff.
Yeah, I was literally crouching.
Yeah.
Dude, by the time
I got to the bottom of the like
every run today, it was like
double calf. My calves felt like
they had bricks in them. And like I
same with wakeboarding. I was wondering the same thing
because my cows were gone. Oh, gone.
Well, I mean, especially the
for me, the lead foot
because you're constantly either
basically your toes right
brunching your toes together or lifting them up
to my, the insides of my
feet like my souls were just shot.
Yeah.
but eventually maybe the weather was really good this morning too it was nice and sunny
I didn't even mind the weather yesterday yeah yeah for anyone we're in the Brickenridge
Breckenridge Colorado it was two degrees when we went yesterday yesterday when we went
two degrees I think even like last night hit the negative no one time I felt so hard my
glove fell off and my hand was so cool I had to find my glove ace out yeah if I took like some
pictures, some videos. If I pulled out my
hand, it was like
instant put in code, get the shot
back in. It was freezing yesterday. Today wasn't bad though?
I was like 10
when we went, like in the morning.
But it was just the sun was out.
Yesterday, I think your
George gave me his socks.
I think that kind of saved me. My fucking
right big toe for some reason was
frozen. I was like kind of
worried for a sec.
Oh no, I packed
I packed heavy
You feel it frozen
I had three pairs of socks on
And my toe was still fucking froze
Three pairs of socks
I feel like it's crazy
Dude
Somehow my foot was still cold
Or not even
Not even my foot
Just my big toe
Just your big toe
Just my fucking big toe
I didn't feel too bad in the cold
I didn't even really
Think about the cold
Until I took my gloves off
That's when I felt it too
I bought one of those
Those things
that you like pull up over
your chin this morning because I was mad cold without it.
That's what I had the first of.
I didn't have one yesterday.
Oh shit.
And my chin and my
I did too.
My chin in my mouth were frozen.
That would have been bad.
I bought one this morning.
Even when I would pull it down and like talk or something.
I was like, yep, that's going right back up.
It's fucking freezing.
Um, well, fuck.
Tell me, you know, what we do today?
Because that, all we did yesterday was snowboard.
Yeah, I was going to say, fuck the snowboard.
And then come home and make fajitas and fed a fox.
Oh
Dude
How are animals
Living out here
Yesterday we saw a fox
We do
We shred the slopes
Fucking green black
Red
Hit all those
Came back
Made food
Fucking like 12 of us here
Yeah
Make some food
And then we just see a fox
Yeah I was asleep
It's a dog
Dude I was in heaven bro
Because I love foxes
I mean that's like
The name of our photography business
Is Foxx
At first, he was like, oh my God, it's a coyote, watch out.
Yeah.
And then I looked at it out.
I was like, no, it's not.
He's chill.
So are Fox, like, friendly or what?
I mean, they don't hurt humans, apparently.
No, really?
I mean, they're only going to mess with you if, like, you see one in, if you see one in the middle of the day, like, don't go up to it.
Oh, okay.
But he was literally, like, he was so just, like, whoever stayed at this house or the owners.
He knows this area.
He knows there's food to be had here.
And it's, like, definitely, like, you know, like animal etiquette.
If I told someone at Nat Geo,
yeah, if I told someone that I fed him, you shouldn't feed him,
I know I shouldn't feed him.
But we had leftover chicken and steak,
and I literally sat out there with my mittens.
Fuck that.
Did he take eating him?
I threw the piece of chicken, like a foot from my glove,
and he walked up and grabbed it,
and then went to the other side of the portion,
I kept feeding him.
I was in heaven, bro.
That's so good.
He was so cute.
You, like, had it in your hand.
You wanted him to come get out of my hand.
Oh, dude.
I wanted it to eat out of my hand.
No, I mean, two feet?
Really?
Two feet from my gloves.
can't believe he didn't bro
if I'm a fucking little animal
I am
I'm getting that food
like because he was out there for a while
but like he doesn't want to get grabbed and brought inside
he played it he played it cool
it's weird because he got a lot of chickens
something like that has probably never happened to him but it's like
somehow in their instincts just from so you know
they're like yeah I'm not going to do that yeah
that's fucking that's like for something
that small like imagine you're
it's literally like a little dog
He's like the exact size of my dog
Yeah
Which is wild
What but
That one
Is that like smaller than medium
Or would that sort of
That's a medium
Yeah
A medium sized dog
Dude that's insane how they fucking survive out here
Was he howling?
No
Who was howling?
I swear somebody was howling
I mean there's a dog up the road
This pretty loud
But coyotes
They're more like a yip
Oh okay
Because I swear I heard something
I was like
But
This is a whole
Foxes have like a bark
It sounds like they're annoyed
All the time
He was so sweet
No, he was adorable.
Absolutely adorable.
He would go, like, I'd feed him a piece of chicken,
then he'd run, and then he'd sit, and he'd look at me.
Then I'd throw him another piece, and then he'd come get it.
Didn't grow, didn't look, mean.
As soon as I was, like, done with my chicken and close the door,
he walked up to the door.
Every time.
But then as soon as I opened the door, he was like, I'm going to give you eight feet.
He's like, throw that shit right there.
Yeah, you get that.
Yep.
And then he knew it was done.
He didn't, like, tap on the window or anything.
He just got his chicken and then he just dipped
It's a whole different
It's warm as fucking North Carolina right?
Is that or is that like a
East Coast it gets cold?
No I mean we have every season
You guys get snow right?
We get like full seasons in North Carolina
We're lucky to get like one or two snows a year though
We'll get it like in January
And there's like here it's like default six inches of snow
Well I was I was gonna say like one for that
I don't under I don't understand how
Where the fucks is fox getting its other food
This will they live in like boroughs
It's weird
We're only I don't know how many hours away
We are from Texas
But like you hit the mountains
And it's a fucking different life
I mean even from the airport
To this altitude
From the we landed
I thought
Yeah I thought we were gonna land in Colorado
And just like see mountains
And like oh I'm cold
But it was like I landed and it's like
Oh it feels good
It feels good yeah
It's like regular
But then you start heading to the mountains
That elevation change
The game.
You can't breathe,
you want us to start going up, dude.
Wait,
did you hit any canned oxygen?
Yeah,
I still still.
You know,
I think that was the main thing
too when we were snowboarding.
Like,
you can't breathe.
Like half the time
you can't breathe,
so you're like, holy.
Yeah,
for any,
I've never experienced anything like this.
Yeah.
I've never,
I guess I've never been
in the mountain mountains.
Yeah,
this is the highest I've ever been.
I mean,
apparently,
unless my sources are wrong,
this is the highest altitude
city in Colorado.
8K, 9K.
Yeah,
it's like,
75 to 8
something like that
dude
sometimes I go off those stairs
and I have to catch my breath
it's weird
yeah well it's it's not like it
because we're used to
or I'm used to like
you feel yourself
getting out of breath here
it's like you're good
you're chilling and then it's like
yeah exactly
it's a fucking
it's literally a different lifestyle here
I've never been in anything
like this
like this fucking
this medium fox that survive
it's it's snowing
it's fucking
it's not even like it's oh it's flurring out it's like oh look snowstorm not like snowstorm like it's
snowing that hard but it's the wind and it's that's kind of how it was it like the he's got his coat
he had some fajitas and then went back in the den like they really warm though they're pretty
fluffy i mean that fog's had good time me they're pretty fluffy and he got steak and stick and
he was so fucking tight and then just dipped no he had a good night yeah up here's a different
lifestyle completely fucking
And even on our the way or from the airport,
getting the shuttle.
And like I was saying shit like,
how much you think rent is right there?
Because we're on a, from where we're at right now,
flew from Texas here or, well, everyone flew from different places.
But we get here, landed the airport.
Then it's like, hey, we got a two hour shuttle.
We're getting the shuttle.
And it's like, at first it's normal.
Then we start getting on these like side little mountainy.
and then you just like you look to the right
you see like a
16 house trailer park
I was gonna say it's like a trailer park
I mean we saw dudes ice fishing on the way here
people on a fucking lake ice fishing in a tent
like it's literally
it's like a whole different world
it's like a two hour flight for you guys
and then it's like you literally go from Texas
to people ice fishing just the most suburban
warm sun's
flat
fucking Texas weather
to this like
two hour
up a mountain
traveling cabins
nonstop
for some reason
last night
I was looking on
Airbnb
I think me and my
girlfriend
want to do a little
trip like this
well we hit the slopes
I don't know
because she was talking about
she was like
you're gonna teach me
and I was like
does she want to ski or board
probably snowboard
okay
she's like oh you can teach me now
and I was like
I mean, how expensive it to, like, to rent the boards and all that stuff?
It was 80 for me this morning.
Okay.
But that was, it was, that was.
Is that like a day pass?
No, that was, so, well, I bought that, it was 60 for the board for me.
Okay.
And then the day pass was 104.
So, it was a hundred bucks to get up the mountain.
And then you have to rent an Airbnb around here.
Well, that's what I was, because we were, like, kind of talk, because fucking everything that, I mean, I don't,
really do traveling unless it's like some optic shit but optic shit's always like some texas shit or some
la shit so it's always warm weather haven't been to anything cold like this and i've been like hearing
the hype around like the colorados and the whatever else is out there the mountainy areas
so i was looking at Airbnb last night and it was just like cabins and it was like what the
fuck i mean i feel like that's the vibe you're a different world out here cabins snow mountains
There's probably some people that have been here for the life.
Well, a lot of people.
Probably a majority of people have been here for life.
It's just totally different.
I mean, we haven't been in a town yet,
but even just driving through it,
it's like every three stores is like a snowboard
and everything's ski accessory place.
And it's all,
I mean, it literally looks like it's a Hallmark movie.
I don't know what this town rates
in terms of like how aesthetic or attractive it is to tourists,
but it's adorable downtown.
all lit up for Christmas.
Where we went boring at was
it was nice.
It's just dealt with it so close to.
We probably came to like the perfect-ish time.
Apparently it's like early in this season.
Yeah, it wasn't packed.
It wasn't packed.
That's what I liked about.
What time?
Because like,
dude,
if it was packed,
I would have been.
I would have,
no.
Because like Maddie and Shaw
tried to go do the like terrain park.
What the fuck is that?
You're like,
you're like,
it's like little,
little ramps and jumps and stuff,
but it's like not even open yet.
Because they like build it.
Oh, really?
They like build it with the snow that they get
And they just haven't got enough apparently
No, I definitely want to come back
Dude, I want to get good at snowboarding for sure
Yeah, I don't really care if I'm good or not
But I want to make it down the mountain
Oh yeah, that's what I'm saying
I just want to have fun like going down
Yeah, like not hurt myself
Yeah, exactly
Yeah, the altitude here is different though
Even the first night we stayed here
I think everyone woke up
And said something about a headache
I think that's why hitches down so bad
I think so too
I think it has altitude sickness
Is that a thing
It said it feels like a crazy hangover, you're nauseous, and it's like you just can't keep anything down.
We're all out of the first night.
And it might not be, but it was just really good timing if it was some else.
I woke up with this like weird, I don't know if I'd say like hangovery, but like this weird, like dehydrated sort of headache where I'm like to where it's like it feels like I'm dehydrated, but my headache has made me feel like I don't want to drink water.
It's like it's sort of like an uneasy feeling.
and I feel like that's what most people have,
or that's what most of us got.
And I think Hitch was the only one
who actually got drunk the first night.
I mean, he's not a heavyweight by any means.
But he was doing the rebel box.
With the quick change of like altitude and shit,
the...
Well, and his sinuses are so messed up anyway.
Like this altitude will mess with his sinuses period.
Bro, I can't breathe.
Bro, I can't breathe.
That's what I'm saying.
I blew my nose an hour again.
You got a bloody nose.
Yeah.
There's just, and that happens like...
He's got nasal polyps, dude.
Yeah.
I don't know what that's like.
It's 7,500 feet.
Yeah.
The altitude...
I can...
The way I woke up, I was like, if I would have drank last night, that would have been bad.
Yeah.
And today I've been drinking, but I've been chugging water.
So I'm definitely not trying.
And you've probably adjusted a little bit, just being here for, you know, a couple days.
But yeah, he did that shit quick.
Yeah.
And at first, like we talked about earlier, it was like, USA's playing.
This Hitch?
Come on.
I know.
I know you feel like shit.
Yeah.
But how sick are you?
The problem is he said that a week ago.
Like, he's going to get sick during the USA game.
And also it's like, I didn't know if it was like, I don't know if it was like, I don't know if it's, he probably.
No, I think he wanted to go.
There's because I don't think he's ever snowboarded before.
Yeah.
I definitely don't think.
Hitch isn't the one that would like come out here and.
Exactly.
But I was like, I know you feel like shit,
but you really wanted to watch this USA game, didn't you?
And they qualified?
USA?
Let's go, baby.
How many teams are you both are big soccer people?
I mean, we all, we played for like soccer.
We played for like 15 years.
How long did you play with Hitch?
This will have to be, eventually we'll do a podcast.
With Hitch.
Yeah.
Today was a snowboard.
podcast. I mean we
really didn't talk about anything else. For 20 minutes
you guys are talking about your
shared woes of eating shit and I'm
just sitting here with a shit eating grin
the whole first part. I want
to talk about I mean we can't
go that long because we got a fucking
you got an opportunity. Literally a podcast
right after this.
How long did you guys
and I don't even really want to get into
it because it's literally a whole different
I'll just preface it for the next one.
I basically became
boys with Hitch through high school ball.
So I played high school. Is that when you met him?
Yeah. I met Hitch in high school freshman year.
Is that when both of you met him?
Oh yeah, I met him in high school. Yeah. So I was already friends with George.
We played club soccer together since we were like 12. And then we had already played
cod together because we just got Xbox 360s.
We played club ball, but they went to school together.
Yep. So I played school ball with Hitch, club ball with George. And then we, I played
cod with him and then got Hitch into Cod. And then so we all. So you never played soccer with
Hitch?
Never.
No, really?
Like, our teams
I've gone against,
like our schools and stuff,
but never.
No, it's like I was his duo
for club and I was Hitch's duo
for school.
Yeah.
What position were you guys?
I was right wing.
Right wing,
Hitch was center mid
or striker and then I was striker.
But I'm a lefty side.
What is right wing mean?
Right wing,
I just literally,
the world cups going on.
It's right left wing,
so we hug the line.
In the middle.
They do the most running.
Yeah, we do the most running.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
It's like, because when it goes back on defense.
Yeah, back then, dude, I was fast.
I was just...
When it goes back on defense, that's his job too.
Yeah.
And then when it goes up on offense, that's his job too.
So I got to follow my right wing as well.
Now, what's a striker?
And I'm only asking this, and I'm pretending to care
because the World Cup's going on.
But I'm not a soccer hater.
I don't actually care.
Yeah, you were hating the whole time we were watching.
It's like a line and play whatever they want.
But I kind of do it just because I think it's kind of funny.
Yeah.
And like the soccer people...
The majority of the United States would agree.
me um what's a strike
striker goes up top
he's the one of the scores okay
so i run on the wing with the ball
cross it to blake cross it to me
so you guys met hitch through
through high school
eventually we'll do a whole
fucking podcast so Blake was like
the middle man he was a mutual
because well I'm sure you guys have talked about
it on stream a lot but I don't think have you guys
ever sat down and explained like
we briefly talked about it
um when we went on the eavesdrop with hector
but not in like a super homie.
All of you guys?
Yeah, all of us.
It was like right when we first signed.
That's good as me though.
That's 100%.
Hax is way better with me
than hosting a fucking podcast.
Well, when we chill with Hector,
it's like, you know, like arms crossed at a table.
Not that we don't still like cut shit up sometimes,
but I'm not in a big old bean bag drinking a beer.
That is true.
You know?
This is a little more a homey vibe.
Eventually that'll fucking, we'll do that.
Because Hitch being my,
one of my best friends I've made
from Optic and doing all this shit
and like you guys were a duo
he just came in like
not even a year after me in Optic
so we were like sort of
we quickly became like sort of on the same page
and it was just like
I bro what you guys have
is what I always sort of wanted to have
is like I had a few high school
well I had one high school friend
that played Halo
he was decent
he was like
top
maybe top 60
I mean it's decent
well I'm just saying
I always
I always wanted
the like
local friends
that were pretty good
yeah
and fucking this guy
found two that are better than him
so it's just like
I mean I guess I was like
we got him into Cod
yeah really yeah
he played combat arms
in the PC and then I told him it was
that was lame
I can there's so much new
that's the most niche thing I remember
Yeah, he played combat arms and then we told him and we literally, so our first, this is going to turn it too way longer thing.
Like somehow, like you guys are pretty good.
Oh no.
Like we played tournament.
You just won the, did you win?
Yeah.
The pro sem.
Yeah.
Whatever it wise.
I don't really about with it.
No, we catch people off guard for sure.
That's what I love.
That's like, I love.
That's what it's fucking, it's crazy to me that like hitch and its two local friends somehow to make this shit happen.
like you guys come into Optic
I mean he definitely laid
the groundwork first for sure
like we wouldn't be an optic without him
that shot yeah but
because did you guys even
I guess you like knew about
e-sports
I've been an optic fan forever
since he has been yeah
I was a big Halo fan
I mean Hitch is like
super obsessive personality
and so George
me and George watch Halo all the time
did you like in Halo
sure that was Roy Roy Roy
Roy Boregan lunchbox
We used to watch the straight
Ripin World Toges like constantly
The snipe down two squares
Yeah
Loved instinct
That was a pretty much
Roy lunchbox
Fins
And then like occasionally
You'd see me play them
I said you're with demon D
and uh
Yeah
And
What did you play with
Maniac?
Is that as fucking maniac
Who was a demon D cloud
Who else was
Clutch and then
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
So me and him
watch Halo and then me and Hitch
watched competitive Cod
and then he just like absolutely locked in a competitive
cod. Yeah, he fucking
for sure. He did
something he did something
that's
no one else has done.
Who? Yeah, no.
No one has done anything like Hitch has done.
What do you mean? In what perspective?
Being a production guy
sort of like
I think I don't know how the exact
story went but he like reached out to Hector was
Like, let me document this shit for you guys.
I mean, dude, me and Hitch started.
And people have done that.
We started in e-sports with UMG.
We flew up to a UMG event and said, well, I'll, because I'm a photographer, like, by trade.
So I was like, I'll photograph it.
Hitch wants to do videography.
We said, we'll come up there, just pay for our way, and then we'll document it for free.
Yeah.
So that's how it started, and then optic intel and then actual optic and then scuff house and then TST streams.
And then us.
Wait, so it's not just like.
being buddies with hacks and
like you're just fucking set for life
no not really
I thought that's how it's
no one's done
what Hitch has done no
production I don't know what the
fuck you'd want me to say
production guy
has came in
made such a impact
for like he's a personality
he turned himself into a personality
I don't I can't think of anyone
who's done that maybe there's someone out there
I mean, we still...
From someone who recorded and edited.
Oh, yeah.
Just for an org to, like, become...
Well, I mean, I feel like there's probably a couple examples.
I mean, I'm thinking, like, you know, like,
because Puffer, well, Ludwig.
Ludwig was an editor for the two smash commentators
that I, like, very...
Like, I grind their content.
He was their editor, and now he's, like, to the moon.
Yeah, for sure.
But it's a little different in an org.
Because, I mean, he went from being...
fan of the org
oh my god
is that scump i want to meet him
to now he hosts the podcast that
gump is on you know
so that is definitely unique
now it's i have to give him his father for that
we don't really
he's still a shit
not like we don't really do
i mean i guess there's videos
videos are done without hitch or hex
but like
if it's like a podcast
or some video that's
including like multiple other people
it's like we want a hitch or a hex to sort of lead the show.
Yeah.
So it's just, I don't know, it's crazy for him to go from the production shit to that.
And then it's also crazy that he, I don't know if anyone has done what he's done with you guys of like taking two hometown friends and becoming.
Creating one stream for a brand.
Creating one stream for all you guys.
Creating this brand.
Yeah.
Fucking you guys had an insane run.
in I don't know what year that was.
What did you guys get up to?
Fucking like 18,000.
That's the highest we've ever gone.
Yeah.
To join Optic, do all that shit.
Bring you guys in.
Eventually,
was it Hex that gave him the idea?
Like, you guys are hilarious.
Like, you need to make this into something.
Hector has always been a big proponent
and encourager of the TST vibe.
Just saying, he's a TST.
He is.
He's always encouraged us a lot,
which is cool.
It's almost the same mind with the old man
of optic he has his two friends like
he's all about like that
do it with your day one shit
which is awesome yeah for
hitch to do that bring you guys in you guys do it
you guys did three people
from what's your fucking city
raleigh Carolina baby
but is it really rally
oh I'm not
is that what it said because I'm in Greensboro
that Craig will say Dallas but he's in Frisco
yeah I'm in Greensboro now
I'm born and raised in Raleigh
okay but I'm probably gonna
you guys are coming to see me
soon in like 10 days.
I lived in Raleigh, though, my whole life.
Are you coming to the
the cot opener?
Dude, I'm sick of this shit.
Come on.
I am so sick of traveling, man.
Come on.
No, I think I got to go
to the ESports Awards, too.
And no, I'm not accepting
formal's fucking award.
Hey, we'll see you at the Eastport's awards.
Get your redemption.
I'm like, dude, no, it's literally
my biggest fear.
Formal.
Going back down the slow.
A thousand people in front of me.
Dead quiet.
I'm sitting there on a fucking,
it's always been my biggest fear.
I can't believe you did that period.
Well,
I was drunk on Xanax,
long story.
But like,
formal doesn't,
foremost,
not,
I don't think as bad as me,
but like he doesn't want to do that.
Yeah.
If he wins,
I don't fucking know if he's going to win,
but he's nominated,
and he deserves to win.
So I'm assuming he's going to be.
Is it going to have to be one of us at the table
to accept it for him?
I think so,
yeah.
Dude,
I'm not,
I told them I'm not,
I'm not accepting it.
I'm gonna make it known again after this.
I'm not accepting that.
Well, we'll see you there, man.
Formal doesn't want to accept it.
So it's like, why give the guy who has fucking an ultimate fear of doing that?
Why make him do it?
Roger will do it.
Anyways, TSD, wish we had all three of y'all.
We will one day.
We will.
We did enough today.
We'll get hitch next time.
No, this's been good.
I mean, we watch all the fly cast clips.
We hear, you know, hitch recording.
and it's dubbed to be able to be on one, so I appreciate it.
Thanks, guys.
It's our first time, so appreciate you.
All right.
Well, yeah, we'll dive into your all's entire life story.
Sounds good.
And then yours, the time after that?
Yeah, yeah.
Sounds good.
My show us.
All right, thank you all so much for watching.
Episode 898, complete.
Matt Gray played out of outro music.
