Starting point is 00:00:00 The Blaze Radio Network. On Demand. Hello, America. Welcome to the Glenn Beck program. Here's what you need to know to start your day. Violence erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend when white nationalists clashed with counter-protesters. One of the white nationalists, a national socialist, otherwise known as a Nazi,
Starting point is 00:00:29 slammed his car into the crowd of protesters killing one person and seriously injuring several others. So here's what's being said in the media. The left immediately was quick to blame Donald Trump for all of it. The right is quick to say, hey, well, it's annafo, anna for, annafo, anna for. Okay, I've got a different opinion,
Starting point is 00:00:57 but let me start with this one. Donald Trump is not to blame here. The one to blame is the sick, demented racist who drove his car into a crowd of people. Period. Those people who are saying, this is the right, finally fighting back. You're part of the problem. Well, you should blame the people who are just trying to change our history by pulling down statues of Robert E. Lee. You're part of the problem.
Starting point is 00:01:29 This is about the black race under attack. This is about the white race under attack. This is what I want you to hear. The only race we should be worried about today is the human race. Because it seems to me it is on some of its last legs. If your media source isn't telling you that, it's maybe perhaps time you find a new one. We begin right now.
Starting point is 00:02:00 and enlightenment. This is the Glenn Beck audio program. Today, there are two radical fringe groups waking up and thinking that their cause has gained something they didn't have a week ago.
Starting point is 00:02:39 And that is legitimacy. In responding the way he did to Charlottesville, the president was both right and wrong. We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence on many sides.
Starting point is 00:03:00 On many sides. It's been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. It's been going on for a long, long time. It is no place in America. What is vital now is a swift restoration of law and order and the protection of innocent lives. No citizen should ever fear for their safety and security in our society. And no child should ever be afraid to go outside and play or be with their parents.
Starting point is 00:03:39 I don't even understand the last part, but here's where this went wrong. After a year of rightfully calling out the left for refusing to say, radical Islamic terror. Why would the president not say white supremacist racists? White supremacist national socialists. We are either a nation that opposes evil in its whole, in its entirety, or we are nothing. You can't tell me that you worry about the country if you really only truly have empathy for your side
Starting point is 00:04:26 if you only see the problem on the other side I was taught something very very valuable that has played a big role in my
Starting point is 00:04:42 life beyond charity it was taught by John Huntsman Sr. He's a dear man who has done more to cure cancer and really change the world than most people will do in 10 lifetimes for all the Hindus. Here's what he taught me.
Starting point is 00:05:04 As I was standing in his hospital where he was asking my wife and I for a donation, I said, John, I'll make you a deal. I will give to your hospital. But in exchange, I need you to teach me how to be charitable. I grew up in a poor family and we didn't have any money and I want to be a responsible steward and I need to know how to navigate the waters of charity. He shook my hand. He said, that's a deal I'm happy to make.
Starting point is 00:05:49 And he told me, here's your first lesson. You have to care about all of it. the entire human condition. You can't just care about cancer. You can't just care about heart disease, gay rights, whatever it is. You have to care about all of it. That's what we're missing here. We all seem to only care about our little slice of the pie.
Starting point is 00:06:24 We're never going to heal. We'll never come back together. if we don't have malice toward none and charity toward all. This morning there were Nazis bragging that they weren't mentioned by the president. They're bragging about how they are now being grouped alongside the entire political right in this country. And they're feeling legitimized. And they're planning their next moves. Richard Spencer is already planning his next mega rally in Texas.
Starting point is 00:07:00 and I will be there quietly to stand against. I saw two groups this weekend. Well, one group displayed the Nazi flag and spewed hate and violence. The other group displayed Soviet and communist flags spewing hate and violence. Just like the Nazis, who I remind you are national socialists. Antifa, the anti-fascist group, and the rest of the radical left are waking up today feeling we are legitimate. Because where is the outcry from the left?
Starting point is 00:07:44 This didn't just begin in Charlottesville. This didn't begin with Donald Trump. It didn't begin with Barack Obama. This is what left the pockmarks that are still on the walls of banks on Wall Street. This is a fascistic movement on the left and the right. And it's just gaining steam again. It's been going on almost weekly on college campuses since the election. Watch the videos from Berkeley.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Compare those videos to this weekend in Virginia. There is absolutely no difference. None. And through it all, not a peep from the left. this has been a giant failure of biblical proportions by the people we have chosen to lead us. If there was ever a time you could actually get Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer, Paul Ryan, and Nancy Pelosi on the steps together, shoulder to shoulder, standing united. This was it.
Starting point is 00:09:01 A Nazi committed an ISIS-style terror attack. A communist paramilitary group. was rampaging through the streets. We have, we've been against Nazis since 1941. I think there's a T-shirt, the United States of America, against national socialists since 1941. This was the moment to unite in defiance of evil. This was the time for the leadership to come together and show us and the world,
Starting point is 00:09:43 what we stand for, what our principles are, what we believe in. But once again, our elected officials have failed us. I wasn't surprised. We're in a really dangerous time. For some unfathomable reason, both the right and the left, are willing to let these 3%, 1%, it must be crazy. 10, 12%,
Starting point is 00:10:18 of our population, these fringes, these crazy edges of our society, co-opt into their movement. And how are they doing it? Well, what about? Well, yeah, but what about? Yeah, yeah, but what about? I am so sick of what aboutism. Has the left screwed up the past decade? You bet they have.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Has the right? Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Has the left done everything they could to get rid of the crazy people amongst them? No, they haven't. But has the right done absolutely everything it could to cast out these racist Nazis? Not even close. Coming up later on the program, I'm going to remind you what a Nazi is. Not the, not the, not the, you know, the marching and the salutes and all of that. None of that. Because you know that. Not the gas chambers. We got that. What is a Nazi?
Starting point is 00:11:45 What is it that they believe? And once you know that, why won't the right excoriate and make sure they are standing nowhere near? Their movement has nothing to do with, American constitutional conservatives. Nothing. Nothing.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Likewise. Antifa, the radical left? Let me put it this way. What would the Democratic Party of John F. Kennedy have to say about those guys? His entire family, including I think his crazy evil dad, would be shouting from the rooftops. These people do not belong to. to us, but we don't have anything from either side. Hate and violence is ripping apart American cities,
Starting point is 00:12:48 ripping apart American campuses, putting a boot on the throat of free speech all over the United States, and those we have elected to represent us, who represent us are using it to posture. For those of you who listen to me and have been with me at restoring honor, restoring love, who were with me in Birmingham, Alabama. These are the times now that I told you would come
Starting point is 00:13:28 when the world is being turned inside out and upside down. That you needed your credibility, that you needed to know that you were going to be pushed up against the wall and you were going to be angry, but you needed to know exactly who you are. The only thing that you really need to do as a start is simple, but it will make you a targeted person, and that is call evil by its name. Radical Islamic terrorism is evil,
Starting point is 00:14:18 and we are against it in all of its forms. White supremacist, neo-Nazi, national, socialist, populist, terrorists, we are against them in every way. Antifa, communist, terrorists, we stand against them in every way. They are evil. There has to be a concerted effort
Starting point is 00:14:43 to delegitimize these fringe groups because that's what they are. And calling a spade a spade, calling evil, evil is the best place to start. The most ridiculous thing about all of this, is how the left and the right have become so tribalized that we can't even find our way to each other in the face of evil that we all have recognized in the recent past and are clearly on record since 1941. I don't have to ask what's happened to us. I know what's happened to us.
Starting point is 00:15:34 The question is, what are we going to do about it? And staying in this tribal fight is only going to cause more chaos. And now this, it is time maybe to surprise that special someone in your life. Why? Because you can. How is your weekend with your wife? Was it really good? Send her some flowers.

Starting point is 00:18:22 Optima tax relief. This is the Glenn Beck Program. So were you guys, did anybody just watch Twitter Saturday and just see the comments that were coming out from famous people and leadership and everything? and just thinking, has the world gone mad? Was anybody else thinking that this weekend when you were watching responses?
Starting point is 00:18:52 Well, yes. Although if you look at Twitter, I think you think that every weekend. It's a frequent thought. Yeah, but this one was so easy. This is we're talking national socialists. We're talking Nazis. I mean, to go back to the very foundation of this, I have a massive problem with the national socialists being assigned to the
Starting point is 00:19:12 the right. And that is not a American right wing position. And it's pointed as like, even with the on both sides issue, it's like, well, there's violence on the left and today we saw it on the right. No. I mean, no. It's got nothing to do with me. You know, a government that wants to control every aspect of your life has
Starting point is 00:19:28 nothing to do with my position on anything. A government that wants to make certain people move from one area of the country to another so they can live with their own race has literally no connection to the American right. How that is allowed to stand? when the Nazis of Germany voted in lockstep with the communists of Germany.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Because here's where the conservatives have gone wrong. Conservatives are saying, I'm just trying to preserve history. And that's where I'm seeing a lot of conservatives say, you can't take down the statue of Robert Lee. You know what, gang? Can we stop the lie about the Civil War? and I know this is going to make a lot of people in this country mad.
Starting point is 00:20:14 It's a lie. You've been taught a lie. If you don't believe me, go read the Confederate Constitution. It wasn't about states' rights. You could not be a member of the Confederate states if you didn't want the expansion of slavery into new Confederate states. or if you wanted to abolish it in your state. You had to be about slavery. It's in the Confederate Constitution.
Starting point is 00:20:49 Everything else is a lie. That's what that war was about. Slavery. Period. Now, I know that makes a lot of people mad because they think that it's part of heritage. It is. but it's bad heritage. Back in a minute.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Mercury. Glenn Beck Program. So we have to have a reasonable and logical discussion about history. You know me when it comes to history. I do not want history erased. I collect the things because I think they're really important. The bad parts of our American history. for a reason.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Because if you don't know both sides, then you cannot make a credible case. If somebody is doing the raw, raw, America's great, we've never made a mistake. Well, you have no credibility as soon as somebody walks into a room and has any evidence of any of the really bad things that, yes, we have done as a nation.
Starting point is 00:22:16 But the same can be said if you walk into a room and it's Van Jones telling us how evil America is and I can walk into that room and say oh Van sit down he's such a rookie look at here's how let me tell you how bad we've been oh and let me show you the documentation oh let me show you the actual pieces used in us being really really bad who has credibility now with the
Starting point is 00:22:48 audience. Van Jones or me. He's talking about it. I'm showing you. Oh yeah, no. He doesn't even know. He's not even going deep enough. I have the credibility. But then as long as I can take that and show you the documents and show you the truth on the other side, you win if it's true. because you can say, I want you to go do your own homework. Now here's the problem. Anybody who is saying, well, you can't take these statues down,
Starting point is 00:23:24 do you believe that it would be right, rational, and normal to have a statue of Rommel in Berlin over the last 50 years? Do you think that's
Starting point is 00:23:44 You think that's right and normal. That soon as the Nazis lost, you erect a statue of Rommel. Now, I can make a case that you should. At the end, he wanted Hitler dead, wanted to kill Hitler. Thought Hitler was insane. Tried to get people to kill Hitler and overthrow Hitler. And that's why Hitler had him killed at the very end. But Rommel only wanted that to have.
Starting point is 00:24:14 happened because he thought Hitler was insane. He thought Hitler wasn't making the right decisions. He was not a good Nazi. But he didn't have a real problem with a lot of the things that Adolf Hitler was
Starting point is 00:24:30 doing. So do we elect, if we were German, do we elect to put a statue of Rommel up there? Okay. A man who, under the statue, the man who lost his life trying to stop Hitler.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Okay. You can make the case that we're showing that here's a guy who is within the ranks, but he's not the best example, and that's not exactly true the way it happened, because it was only at the very, very end. But, okay, you have that statue up there, maybe. The reason why you don't put that there is because Rommel may have been an honorable man until he fought for the Nazis. A man of that caliber should not have been fighting for the Nazis.
Starting point is 00:25:31 William Bedford Forrest, do you know who he is? If you talk to anybody in the South, he was the greatest general in American yesterday. Yeah, he was. He was a very good general, very good general. And he fought for the Confederacy. He was fighting for states' rights. No, actually he wasn't. William Bedford Forrest has a very famous sword
Starting point is 00:25:55 where people from the south, when they see it, they will weep over this sword because he is such a great hero. Well, the problem is with that sword, while he was a general, he would take blacks and he would fillet them. And then he would take their skin like a pelt and have it nailed to barns as a warning. Oh, and he didn't just do it to black people.
Starting point is 00:26:24 He did it to all white people who were helping the black people as well. So when his troops marched into town, they made sure that they let everybody know, here's what happens to blacks who try to escape, and here's what happens to whites who want to help them, or on the side of the Union Army. Do we have statues to William Bedford Forrest? Yes, he was one of the greatest generals. Yes, and while he was a general, he was filleting white people and black people.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Was he fighting for states' rights? Yes, he was. Was he an intelligent person? You bet he was. So then I'm sure he as an intelligent person, before he decided to become a traitor to the United States of America, he decided to do that what? Without any information? Or do you suppose he actually read the Constitution of the Confederacy?
Starting point is 00:27:21 Have you read it? Because I have. I went to the Museum of the Confederacy. I think it's in Richmond, Virginia. And it's this great museum, great museum. And I happened to be looking for a constitution, a copy of the Confederate Constitution. I was in the gift shop.
Starting point is 00:27:46 And I'm just looking for one of those, you know, fake parchment paper constitution things. And I couldn't find one. well I work with a bunch of overachievers and so one of my overachiever staff who happened to be with me went and found the head of the museum and said hey Mr. Beck is looking for a copy of the Constitution so next thing I know I'm in the gift shop getting ready to leave and I can't find it and my guy says Glenn I want you to meet so-and-so the head of the museum and I'm like oh hi and he said I hear you're looking for the copy of the Constitution I said yes and he said why don't you come with me so we go upstairs and we go into the vault and he takes out the actual constitution
Starting point is 00:28:31 the real one, the one on lambskin, vellum, I mean, and he... The original one? The original one and he rolls it out on the table. And he's like, what are you looking for exactly? And I'm like, well, first of all, I was looking for a cheap copy for like a dollar and a half.
Starting point is 00:28:47 And he's like, and I'm like, and he's like, no, go ahead and look. And take your time with it and I said, do you want me to wear gloves? Can I wash my hands? I mean, you really should not. I mean, I'm just, I'm a schlub here. I read it. Can we point one part out that everyone seems to forget about this state's rights fight? You may be talking about Article 4, Section 2 and 3. The citizens of each state shall be entitled to all the privileges and immunities of the citizens in the several states.
Starting point is 00:29:24 And shall have the right of transit and sojourn in any state of this Confederacy with their slaves and other property. And the right of property in said slaves shall not be thereby impaired. Then in Section 3, in all such territory, the institution of Negro slavery, as it now exists in the Confederate states, shall be recognized and protected by Congress and by the territorial government and the inhabitants of the several Confederate states and territories shall have the right to take such territory any slaves lawfully held by them
Starting point is 00:30:01 in any states or territories of the Confederate states. So not only did it mandate that you must be a slave state to be in the Confederacy, but in the future, all of the future Confederate states would also have to be slave states. Yeah, in fact, they went a step further. You know, they knew that slavery was a diminishing market around the world by this time.
Starting point is 00:30:27 That's why they wanted to conquer Cuba and Central and South America. Thank you very much, Pat. Thank you for knowing that. You're exactly right. They were going to expand it beyond our borders and go into Latin America. So we would have had a brand new
Starting point is 00:30:45 mark of the beast on America. So I'm sorry. General Lee was a great guy. I'm sure he was wonderful and a great general. He chose to fight for slavery. Period. Now maybe your ancestors didn't. Maybe your ancestors didn't read the Constitution.
Starting point is 00:31:11 But the people who are statues today, they all read that constitution. They knew they were not fighting for states' rights. They were fighting to not only keep but expand slavery. That's evil. It should be called evil. Period. The place to learn about these guys is in museums.
Starting point is 00:31:38 It's in context. It's like we can learn about Rommel. Rommel was a great guy. Rommel made huge mistakes by standing with the Nazis, and by the time he wanted to get out, it was too late. Should we learn about the whole man, Rommel? Yes, we should. Should there be statues of Rommel?
Starting point is 00:32:07 No. How about Lennon? Seattle has a statue of Lennon. Well, that's great, Seattle. Why? Well, because he was for the people. He also slaughtered people en masse. We have to stop making heroes out of killers. Stone cold, knowing exactly what they're doing, killers.
Starting point is 00:32:37 We can learn about them in history books, and we can learn about them in museums. And Seattle, you want to have a museum that's all about Lenin, and it talks about all the great things Lenin did. Well, that's your deal on your own private property. I guess you can do that. But I'm going to make sure that everybody that goes to your museum, I'll do my best to have a museum that tells the truth about the lies in your museum.
Starting point is 00:33:10 I'm not going to silence you. Truth is very powerful. All you have to do is put people on the track of it. show them how to find the truth. Here's what I want you to do. I want you to look up the Constitution of the Confederate States. I want you to read that. I want you to look about the expansion of slavery into Latin America
Starting point is 00:33:35 by the Confederate states. What were their plans? And then come back and try to make the case that it was about states' rights. It's not. Because in their own constitution, the state did not have the right to say no to slavery. And now this, our sponsor, my Patriot Supply. On Friday, the president tweeted, military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded should North Korea act unwisely.
Starting point is 00:34:11 Hopefully, Kim Jong-un will find another path. I am still holding out hope that what the president is doing is what Ronald Reagan did in the 1980s. There is a chance, and I don't want to undercut him and say that tough rhetoric is dangerous in and of itself. We have to be careful because you don't want to ever say things that you don't back up because then you are a paper tiger.
Starting point is 00:34:47 But Ronald Reagan called evil by its name and I think that's a positive thing. What's happening in North Korea is indeed evil. My friends tell me they're convinced we're going to war, my military friends. I hope to God they are wrong, or that all the estimates of how something like that works out is wrong. But I don't know. You don't need to be worried about these things.
Starting point is 00:35:16 You need to be prepared for these things. I'd like you to call My Patriot Supply at 800, 200, 271.63. Right now they're offering 102 servings of survival food kit for $99. That's 102 servings. So that's breakfast, lunch, dinner, everything, less than a dollar per serving. You have, you know, three, four kids, you know, you got your family together. This is a good, you know, a good kit to have that will last you a few days. Should there be a snowstorm next year and you can't get out of the house for a couple of days?
Starting point is 00:35:54 Or God forbid, something is disrupted because of international turmoil. Whatever it is, be prepared and take the stress off your life. 800, 271.63 or you can order online at preparewickglen.com. That's prepare with glen.com, 800, 271.63. This is the Glenn Beck Program. Mercury. The Glenn Bed Program. So here's the real problem.
Starting point is 00:36:26 We're only talking now about taking down the statues of, you know, William Bedford Forrest or Robert E. Lee. Well, we're going to take down all the statues of Robert Lee. How about we use them as an example? How about there's a plaque that adds the real history to Robert E. Lee? We can do that. There are some people that should come down,
Starting point is 00:36:50 William Bedford Forrest is one of them. Evil, evil man. But there are people like Robert Ely who I compare to Rommel. A good guy. Just fought for the wrong side. Now, here's the problem.
Starting point is 00:37:07 We are talking about going into history and correcting it, which is fine. Should be done. But then what do we do? Do we lead that campaign from our local Woodrow Wilson Elementary School? Or do we go to the
Starting point is 00:37:26 Princeton Woodrow Wilson study of a government? What is it called administrative studies or whatever that is, that building up there? Do we leave that alone? I mean, some of the
Starting point is 00:37:42 people who are saying that these statues need to come down are the same that will defend Margaret Sanger. And Planned Parenthood. You want to correct history. You have to correct all of it. Is that going to happen?
Starting point is 00:38:01 No, because the Antifa movement isn't as bad as the Nazis. Communists aren't as bad as Nazis. Yes, they are. If we can be honest, we can correct this. This is the Glenn Beck program. Mercury. America, we are in an interesting place that Chinese always say may you live in interesting times. Well, we are truly living in interesting times.
Starting point is 00:38:52 We can't seem to condemn evil and we're arguing about the wrong things. We're arguing now or people are finding a way to make. a story about a Nazi killing someone this weekend all about statues. It's not about statues. It's about people. Life I have found is actually pretty simple. It's the people that are complex. So let's try to break things down and make it a little more simple to understand. understand. And we do that right now. And enlightenment. This is the Glenn. The world, the mainstream media,
Starting point is 00:40:13 Antifa, even the alt-right organizers would all have you believe what transpired over the weekend was just the most recent battle in an endless war of Americans between conservatives and liberals. This is a lie. and anyone who won't point that out to you, stop listening to them. The country doesn't need more opinion.
Starting point is 00:40:43 It really doesn't. It needs more facts. Find those people who will tell you the facts. And I will back this up this half hour. But let me tell you about a couple of people. Heather Hare. She's 32 years old. A very passionate person is what her mother told ABC News over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:41:17 She had strong beliefs. Even as a small child, she was fierce about defending her beliefs. She died on Saturday afternoon while defending her belief in a senseless act of violence that sent 19 to the hospital broken and bloodied and her to the grove. and her to the grave. Her mother said, Heather's life wasn't about hate. And this young man,
Starting point is 00:41:45 the killer, James Alex Fields, Jr., this young man who ran my daughter down mistakenly believed that hate would change the world, hate doesn't. Hate harms people. And I don't want any more death brought about by my daughter's death, she said. I want peace.
Starting point is 00:42:08 I want the peace that she would want. I want change. Amen. I don't believe there is somebody within the sound of my voice that when all is said and done, if they can find a quiet moment in their life and let go of the rage that builds in all of us, it's natural.
Starting point is 00:42:42 The world is being turned inside. out and upside down on purpose. It's natural that you feel this. But in a moment of silence, if I could promise you more of this and revenge, or this will stop and we can live side by side, I believe everyone within the sound of my voice would pick the second. So James Alex Field, he's a 20-year-old boy from Kentucky who until five or six months ago had been living with his mom in Ohio now his mom learned about the incident
Starting point is 00:43:32 for the first time during an interview with the Associated Press she was home watching her son's cat at the time when he decided to ram his car into a crowd of people on Saturday she sounded like a lost child herself the boy and I do mean boy
Starting point is 00:43:52 that left Ohio for Charlottesville last week won't ever be coming home again she told the AP she stays out of his political views she said well I want you to listen to this listen to exactly what she said and tell me if it isn't really clear she has no kind she had no idea what kind of poison her son was drinking
Starting point is 00:44:21 I try to stay out of his political views. He, you know, we don't, you know, I don't really get too involved. I moved him out to his own apartment. So we, I'm watching his cat. I mean. The human part is great. Like I said, I don't really talk to him about his, you know, political views. I mean, he just, so I, I don't really understand or what the rally was about or anything.
Starting point is 00:44:48 Okay. Okay. She went on to say that he was involved in the All Bright movement. She didn't even know that it was the Alt-Right movement, not the Alt-Bright movement. Parents, don't let this happen to you. We need to know what's happening with our kids. And you need to understand that the world has changed overnight. We need now more than ever to talk to our kids.
Starting point is 00:45:21 We need to know and make sure the best we can. the kinds of ideas that they're allowing to take root in their minds. The stories that we tell ourselves are really the only stories that matter. Because sooner or later, we end up acting those stories out. Better or worse, you tell yourself you're a miserable human being, and I promise you, you first will be a miserable human being. and then it will grow and you're a miserable human being that has no reason to live and you will act on that. Right now we are all acting on the stories that we believe about ourselves and about others.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Today I just want to talk to you about the story the alt-right is telling you. It is poisonous. It is white nationalism. supremacy, it is national socialism, it is garbage, and it is poisonous. White identity politics this past weekend was deadly, and it will only grow. Have we not learned our lesson? Will all of our treasure and every drop of blood drawn by the lash be so? spilled out again?
Starting point is 00:47:03 I thought we fought a civil war over this. Enough is enough. We got to get back to Sunday school, to real principals, back to the basics, back to the gods of the copy book headings, that fire will burn and water will wet us. We were all of us created in the image of God.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Black, white, brown, yellow, red. All of us. all of us and we are all needed and there's nothing there is nothing that separates us except our mindset we are all children of god we all generally speaking want peace want to live with people leaving us alone to raise our children we have to begin to honor that piece of divinity in ourselves and then in each other. Stop embarrassing and debasing yourself and your family by being sucked in and buying or excusing the lie that one's race is somehow more meaningful than just a color.
Starting point is 00:48:48 The only race we need to claim is the human race. Because it's not the white race that is on the verge of extinction or the black race. It truly is the human race. Starting point is 00:52:24 Doesn't seem like a million years ago? It sure does. I mean, seven years. doesn't seem long enough. And, you know, the fight to expose the Muslim Brotherhood, those seem like the quaint, you know, good old days with everything that's going on. Here's the one thing that I'm not seeing anywhere in the news,
Starting point is 00:52:46 and I want you to be able to teach this to your kids today. Because the mainstream media, Antifa, the alt-right organizers, they're all going to have you believe. that this is just the battle between conservatives and liberals. This is just the ongoing battle. And we're tired of, as conservatives, we're tired of those liberals trying to change history. No, both sides are being used. Both sides are being used.
Starting point is 00:53:22 Hashtag resurrect national socialism is what the hashtag should have been for this peaceful protest. hashtag unite the right. You are being used, you're being played, and no one has the balls to tell you. Remember, Nazism, neo-Nazism, is a form of right-wing collectivism, right-wing progressivism. It has more in common philosophically to left-wing collectivism, Marxism, you took socialism than it has anything to do with conservative principles. The enemy of progressivism, the enemy of collectivism,
Starting point is 00:54:14 regardless if it comes from the left or the right, is liberal capitalism, which is why I have been trying so hard to unite people who still have reason, because the enemy of Antifa and the enemy of the white supremacist Nazis are those people who believe in a free market system that believe in classical liberalism whenever violence originates from the collectivist left,
Starting point is 00:54:55 the left, Antifa, certain factions of BLM or the collectivist right, white nationalist, national socialists, the lovers of liberty, the lovers of classical liberalism, the lovers of the Constitution, should have zero issues standing together to denounce these senseless attacks.
Starting point is 00:55:24 They are inspired by stupid, failed ideologies. Period. What stops us from doing it is what aboutism. Yeah, they're wrong. But what about trying to change our history? You know who you sound like? You sound an awful lot like
Starting point is 00:55:54 the Muslims that don't stand up against Islamic terror. I disagree with their tactics, but no no we have wanted from them a full-throated distancing and excoriation of those
Starting point is 00:56:18 views no it's not that I just disagree with their tactics I disagree with their philosophy if I'm a Muslim radical Islamists have nothing to do with me because
Starting point is 00:56:33 they want a state-controlled Islamic rule. They want the state to be controlled by Allah and the Mullahs. So it's not that I see their point of what's going on in the Middle East. I don't see their point. Because their objective is different.
Starting point is 00:56:57 But people get roped into it because they're very good at saying, yeah, well, we're only doing this because we're oppressed. And that is, after all, the buzzword of this generation. Everybody's oppressed. In fact, you may be so oppressed, you don't even know you're oppressed. But once I get you into a college class to show you the oppression that you're under, you're not only the oppressed, you're been so oppressed by the oppressor that you don't know you're oppressed,
Starting point is 00:57:23 and they also don't know that I hate to break it to you. You're the oppressor as well. All this gobbledygook is making us. forget the truth. The far right and the far left want the state to make all of the decisions. They want the state
Starting point is 00:57:47 to control how your money is spent, what you say, what you do, how you act, who you marry. Whether that's you're not marrying a gay person or you are marrying a gay person to you're not marrying a person of another color.
Starting point is 00:58:12 They all want to control who you love, how you act, what you do, how much money, because they're all about collectivism. National socialists, that's the actual name of the party for the Nazis. National socialists. Nationalism, populism, socialism, evil. International communism.
Starting point is 00:58:46 Evil. Why? Because they both will force their viewpoint on the population through democracy or revolution. They prefer a democratic revolution. They prefer that that revolution happens at the ballot box. But you can't get 100% of a hundred percent of a revolution. any society to agree with you. And so they'll continue to demonize those who are standing against this great national socialist
Starting point is 00:59:21 movement or this great socialist movement. Whatever it is either direction, it's all about control. And so they have to continue to divide, pit against, and eventually shove or shoot the other side. I believe it was on Friday. We had Russell Cruzen on. His son is Bubby. Bubby is a newborn, less than a year old, who has been diagnosed with the same disease that,
Starting point is 01:00:11 oh shoot, now I've forgotten his name. Charlie Guard had over in England. When we first had him on, we just talked about how the family is and everything was going fine, insurance was fine. Last week we found out that their insurance company is not going to cover a doctor's appointment or allow them to go out of state
Starting point is 01:00:35 because you've got a geneticist. Well, no, the geneticist in the state says, I'm not an expert in this. There's one guy that is an expert and the baby needs to see an expert. This isn't like, you know, this can't be solved in at a dock in the box. We need a specialist on this.
Starting point is 01:00:56 So we found out that they were trying to get an appointment. By the end of the day, I think the fundraiser that we started in the morning was up to $40,000. And we were also looking for information about the insurance company on what the insurance company was going to do, whether they would reconsider. I got this note. Glenn, Thursday after we got off the phone Priority Health called me and said that it was indeed
Starting point is 01:01:29 denied their case but I needed to file an appeal as fast as possible he then said that their Facebook was blowing up with all kinds of comments I tried to file the appeal but the email server was down perhaps from all of the emails and comments from your awesome
Starting point is 01:01:49 supporters. They then called me this morning, I think this was Friday, and said, don't worry about the appeal right now. The medical director is now handling our case and is going to talk to our geneticist, and they're trying to see if they can get this approval done for us. Thanks so much for all of the help from your listeners.
Starting point is 01:02:10 We'd be lost without you guys. Russell, welcome to the program. Hey, how's it going? Good. What a roller coaster this is. Yes, it is. Okay, so tell us what has happened. So I really want to provide a free commercial for priority health, you know, and let people call in like you who have had, you know, problems where they've solved it. Are they going to solve this problem, do you think?
Starting point is 01:02:45 I'm really hoping they do. It sounds like after Thursday, it sounds like they started backpedaling a lot. Okay. They were like, I mean, all the negativity that they were getting and everything. They did tell me come Wednesday they'd have an answer for me. And they did talk to our geneticist and the one we're trying to go see. Great. Well, here's what we'd like to do. And you can offer this. you know, when they decide that they are going to, you know, show the, you know, cover Bubby and make sure that he can go to a geneticist and the insurance company recognizes that, of course, that, you know, they don't know more than the actual experts in the field,
Starting point is 01:03:25 that they're there to cover and write checks not to make diagnosis or, or health care calls. I'd love to have their representative on to be able to give them, you know, the accolades of, and point out that this is an insurance company that, you know, that has a heart and is doing that. And if they choose not to cover, you know, they said by Wednesday, let's stay in touch. When they come back, if they choose not to cover, I'd also like to give them free advertisement. We'll pick a day. And I just want to hear from just those people who have filed, you know, for things and then had priority, what is it, priority health? Yeah, it had priority health
Starting point is 01:04:10 Turned them down But then correct, I'm sure I'm sure there's tons of stories where they filed And it was everything went fine It was all corrected. So whatever your story is with priority health, I'm going to give you an opportunity to have a nationwide audience And we'll dedicate the entire show to priority health
Starting point is 01:04:32 To show, you know, have the listeners and the people who actually have priority health explain what a wonderful health care company and provider this provider is. Everything else good, Russell? Everything else is going great. Good. Do you have the appointment set? Yes, we do. August 24th, they have agreed to let us pay out of pocket,
Starting point is 01:04:59 which will be easily done now with all the support that we got from everybody after that show. What is it up to? now, do you know? Almost $57,000. $57,000. Well, that's good. All right. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 01:05:15 I appreciate it. And you just keep in touch with me. And let's make sure that one way or another, everyone knows exactly how great priority health is. Sounds good. Thank you very much. You're welcome. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:05:31 If we just used our power for good as opposed to evil. Mm-hmm. what we could accomplish. That's what I tell myself, looking here at priorityhealth.com. Oh, you know what? You can write to them on their Facebook page. They love it. Well, you're optimistic, though, on the way they're going to handle this, right?
Starting point is 01:05:51 I am. Well, who wouldn't be? I mean, surely there can't be too many stories from priority health customers where things have gone bad, right? There can't be, what, a one? I mean, nobody's perfect. Maybe there's one or two. But I'm sure if we open up the phones on Thursday to find out more,
Starting point is 01:06:07 you know, we only hear a couple. of stories. You probably won't find out. If any. If any. They probably are a great company, but... Maybe this is the only snafu. Right.
Starting point is 01:06:16 But that's what I want to open it up. I want to hear from all those people that have said... That will tell us, hey, I had this with priority health, and everything was covered, and we got it covered in time, and there was no problems, and they wrote the check, and they're just the greatest company of all time. That's exactly what I expect to hear. That's exactly what I expect to hear, too. So we'll open that up for the people who...
Starting point is 01:06:38 who actually pay the probably very low premium and very low deductible as well for priority health. Anxious to advertise for them. And to be clear, that's the only time. We would only do that if we had an indication or a concern that this was of more frequent occurrence. If they're able to handle this claim the way that they're supposed to, I mean, there's no reason. We'd be happy to talk about that, too. I'd be happy to have the CEO on. Yeah, and he could tell us about...
Starting point is 01:07:09 And thank them. And thank them. Sincerely thank them for taking a look at it. Because obviously mistakes happen. Right. You know? And that's why they have an appeals process. Right. Exactly right.
Starting point is 01:07:21 Exactly right. We should have didn't take a huge radio show to... Either way, it should be a fun day for them on Thursday. It's going to be a fun day for them. Yeah. Yeah. One day perhaps, one way perhaps a little more fun than the other. Perhaps.
Starting point is 01:07:37 Perhaps. Perhaps. But we'll... Huh? If you say so. Okay. All right. Okay. So let's take a look at... Let's take a look at a couple of things. First of all, Marco Rubio, they have issued a death order against Marco Rubio in Venezuela. So he probably shouldn't travel to Venezuela as he is so inclined to do on a regular basis.
Starting point is 01:08:06 Yeah. Well, are they alleging that that's, that also applies to here? Like, are they sending people after him? They, they, they, and it's not just some death threat. It's like one of the leading politicians in the country. Yeah, it's an order to have Senator, I'm quoting, an order to have Senator Rubio assassinated. Although it also warned no specific information regarding an assassination plot against Rubio has been gammered. Oh, garnered. I'm sorry. glasses. I need to get stronger glasses. Gammered. I'm like, gammered. What the hell is that? I'm a dummy that gammered so far. Gathered, garnered so far. He has been, this lawmaker has been a vocal
Starting point is 01:08:50 Rubio critic in Venezuela media. And it was also noted, he signed federal authorities to look into this. According to the memo, he might have gone as far to contact unspecified Mexican nationals in connection with a plan to harm Rubio.
Starting point is 01:09:12 That is bizarre. That's weird. Well, the good thing is, the good thing is, we know where every Mexican national is in this country. We do not have a problem with bad guys just coming across our border to do anything wrong. And the son of the Venezuelan president, it's being reported, said he wanted to seize the White House with Ripe. if President Trump sends the U.S. military to his nation. So, good luck. We didn't talk about that part of it too, which is that Trump kept open the possibility
Starting point is 01:09:46 of a military solution in Venezuela, which is not something we had previously discussed. We should make the announcement that we're open to military solutions in every country in the world. We're open. At any time, we just may come in and kick your ass. Seriously, why don't we just take over? Don't we just take over the world? Why don't we? We're in such good health ourselves.
Starting point is 01:10:11 Right? That we need to show these stupid people around the world how easy it is. You're a genius. Right? Well, I mean, Antarctica is just sitting down there completely unguarded. We could take that like today. Just go down there. There's an entire continent could be ours today.
Starting point is 01:10:27 There's like 12 scientists. They'd have to be. Yeah, but I think we can handle it. Neutralized. Yeah, they'd have to be neutralized. And those damn penguins, man. they look cute and everything, they will peck your eyes out. That's possibly true, especially because they're much more,
Starting point is 01:10:40 they're much more agile underwater. So if you go swimming, you have a real danger point there. They castrate you and they walk around with your, your junk on their feet all on the ice shelf. They do. That's a real thing. Those are some bastard. Yeah, I think that's a weird real thing.
Starting point is 01:10:57 Yeah, they'll carry them around like their eggs for days. Junk on the feet, that's science? That's science. That's science. You don't see that often on the National Geographic Channel, but it happens. No, you don't. No, you get that here. You get that here.
Starting point is 01:11:09 This is the place where we question everything. It's only on like Discovery Triple X. And you should question even more. Yeah, no, you should definitely be questioning. So anyway, Marco Rubio is going to, might be assassinated. That was how we got there. We started that break with Marco Rubio. It says assassination threat ended up with penguins with junk on their feet.
Starting point is 01:11:26 That's pretty much a rational. Well, hang on. There is something else that is really kind of interesting. The military has come out and said, we don't agree with President Trump and his ban on transgendered people. Because we need all the help we can get when we invade every country on Earth. And so we're going to need the transgendered with us. Right, right? Right. It does seem, the quote is, the top members of the military are openly opposing it.
Starting point is 01:11:57 And, you know, I was under the impression that Trump got from them that it's not good for the. the military. But if the top military people don't have a problem with it, do you? No. So here's the only thing I worry about is when you get high up in the ranks, you become a politician.
Starting point is 01:12:16 So are these top, I'd like to know who the top military officials are. Yeah, you would hope they're not playing politics here. You would hope that they're... As long as they're not playing politics, if the military says it's not a problem, what are we doing? Yeah. Why would you, why would you try to force this on? Right. It's, let the military do what the military does. No social experiments there. Let's train them to kill people.
Starting point is 01:12:40 And then when they come back, let's help them reintegrate back into society. What do you say? We do that? That seems easy. It seems like the ideal way to treat the military. But why would you do that? Sponsor this hour is simply safe. Don't miss out on the offer right now. He is trying to win the seat vacated by Jeff Sessions. He has, what is it, a 97, 90 plus range on the Freedom Works scoreboard. I mean, he is. He also has one of our favorite moments on broadcast television. We were looking at going, reverting into a depression at that point.
Starting point is 01:15:29 Everyone, the Fed chairman. I disagree that we were going into a depression, but go ahead. Do you have a degree in economics? Yes, ma'am, I do. Highest honors. Okay. I just love that. I just love that.
Starting point is 01:15:39 Such a great moment. Oh. No, the answer to the question before you ask it, sweetie. That's amazing. I mean, just so great. He should win this election based just on a sound of it. Oh, I love that. I just love that.
Starting point is 01:15:53 So anyway, it's really nasty. And here's what I, you've got a couple of people that are running against him in this. You have Judge Roy Moore and Luther Strange, who is in the seat currently. And Donald Trump is coming in and I think just kind of muddying things up because he's paying past bills. Who knows what happens tomorrow? But Mo Brooks, a really good guy. We're going to introduce you to him and find out what he thinks about not only the race, the country, where we're headed as conservatives, especially after this weekend.

Starting point is 01:18:01 A lot to talk about, of course, what happened with the white nationalists. The Justice Department has opened a civil rights investigation into this. I don't know how much there is to investigate their Nazis, and they killed somebody. But did the president go far enough? Was his statement also true? What role do we play in this? What is the future of a small government constitutionally minded people? Does that even exist?
Starting point is 01:18:42 Moe Brooks is a congressman who is running now for the Senate and the election is happening tomorrow. He's a congressman from Alabama. He's running for the seat vacated by Jeff Sessions. And there is an interesting race going on and a battle inside this conservative movement. The election is tomorrow. Mo Brooks joins us right now. And enlightenment. This is the Glenn. Welcome Congressman Mo Brooks. How are you, sir? I'm doing great, Glenn. How about yourself today?
Starting point is 01:19:45 Very good. As you probably know, you have our favorite clip of anyone ever on MSNBC when you were trying to explain the economic crisis we were in, and this is what happened. We were looking at reverting into a depression at that point. Everyone, the Fed chairman. I disagree that we were going into a depression, but go ahead. Do you have a degree in economics? Yes, ma'am, I do. Highest honors. I love that.
Starting point is 01:20:13 Okay, so. You did tell us, Mel, that was satisfying, wasn't it? That moment was just like, oh, yeah, that felt good. Every now and then they pitch a softball. So, Mo, tell us, first of all, your thoughts of what happened over the weekend in Virginia. Well, it's very disheartening that there are still people out there who judge other people based on inherent qualities that those people have no control over. Skin pigmentation is not a basis for defining who we are. Ethnicity is not a basis for defining who we are.
Starting point is 01:20:51 is not a basis for defining who we are. We should all be judged based on our conduct and how we interact with other people. Unfortunately, there are still people in our society on both sides of the fence that look at skin pigmentation, sex, and ethnicity when those should not be factors of concern. You reject outright white nationalism
Starting point is 01:21:14 and the National Socialist Nazi Movement? Well, I don't agree with socialists, I don't agree with Nazis. I don't agree with any group that says that your skin pigmentation alone makes you superior to another group. That's silly. I mean, skin pigmentation is skin fragmentation. You know, I've got freckles. Does that make me good or bad because I've got freckles?
Starting point is 01:21:38 That's a form of skin pigmentation. It's so absurd. And so, yes, I agree. I disagree with anybody, anybody who tries to define somebody else based on characteristics that they were born with. that is not what defines a human being. Now, you were a congressman who in 2016 endorsed Ted Cruz. I was his Alabama State Chairman, and I was one of his national spokesman for his campaign, so yes. Okay, so now here comes this opening in the Senate, and you want to run for it.
Starting point is 01:22:15 You're a great conservative, small government guy. and the president a couple of weeks ago, you were scheduled for an interview with us. Last week, President Trump endorsed your opponent, Luther Strange. Any idea why that happened? It's baffling to me. Luther Strange is a decades-long Washington, D.C. lobbyist. We all knew when President Trump declared that he was going to Washington, D.C. to drain the swamp,
Starting point is 01:22:47 the swamp was going to fight back. And Luther Strange is the swamp's candidate. So to me, there seems to be a conflict between draining the swamp and endorsing the swamp's candidate on the one hand. And on the other hand, the president most recently was rightfully so complaining about Mitch McConnell and the do-nothing Senate and the 60-vote rule that prevents us from passing our agenda. And I agree with the president in that regard. yet he endorses the person who supports the 60-vote rule that kills President Trump's agenda over the next three and a half year. So, yes, I'm puzzled by it.
Starting point is 01:23:24 I don't know who gave President Trump this bad advice, probably Mitch McConnell. I do know the president's spread rather thin. He's got a lot of different issues he's got to focus on. But whoever it is that let him to endorse Luther Strange, let him astray. If you go in, who do you caucus with? Well, I'm a Republican, so I'm going to caucus. with the Republicans in the United States Senate, I do prefer a different leader. Mitch McConnell made me a nice guy.
Starting point is 01:23:54 I really don't know him that well personally. But his job is to get through the United States Senate repeal of Obamacare. His job is to get through the United States Senate funding for the border wall and stronger border security measures. His job is to get through the United States Senate tax reform. His job is to do what must be done to get our debt. deficit and debt under control. And quite frankly, he has failed miserably on each of those different public policy issues. So it's time to try somebody new, someone who perhaps can get the job done, someone more aggressive, more conservative, somebody who's able to persuade a majority of the
Starting point is 01:24:31 United States Senate to do what our country needs doing. Otherwise, it's going to be a wasted opportunity with us having the House, the Senate, and the White House. I've never seen anything like this in my lifetime where they have more opportunity and a president who is providing total coverage for the Congress just a just a snowplow through stuff um i i don't get it either it's baffling to me it's puzzling to me we have a once-in-life time opportunity to reverse obamacare a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try to get our deficit and debt under control before we suffer debilitating insolvency and bankruptcy that have a great damage to a country that our ancestors took centuries to build once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to secure our southern border just go down the
Starting point is 01:25:13 list of things that you in 2009 and 2010 have focused on as you helped build up the Tea Party movement that gave us the House of Representatives in 2010, where we gained 63 seats, if my memory serves me correctly. And this is our chance. And to date, over seven months of President Trump's presidency, we have had zero, zero significant legislative achievements that pertain to the major issues that face our country, the issues that I just itemized. And that's because the 60 vote rule in the United States Senate has empowered Chuck Schumer the Democrats to control our agenda. And that's just craziness. You've got a choice.
Starting point is 01:25:52 You can either support an archaic rule that was born in the early 1800s while they were still slavery, or you can go with America, and I choose America. We're talking to Congressman Mo Brooks, who is running tomorrow the election in Alabama, running for Jeff Sessions' Senate seat. let's talk a little bit about North Korea. What do you think is, where are we headed with this, Mo? I believe that you're going to see a relationship between the United States and North Korea akin to what we saw with China under Mayo-Saitong and the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin
Starting point is 01:26:31 and all his successors. In my judgment, the mutually shared destruction doctrine will work to deter North Korea from ever launching a first strike at the United States of America, because a first strike by North Korea against America results in a retaliatory nuclear strike by the United States that would turn North Korea into a sea of glass, and every single North Korean leader would be dead. The North Korean leadership acts crazy, but I tend to think they act crazy in order to achieve a smart purpose. I don't believe that they won't to commit suicide. So mutually shared destruction doctrine ought to work with them to prevent a first strike from ever being launched by either party,
Starting point is 01:27:11 just as it has worked in the United States and the Soviet Union, now Russia and China over the decades. However, to be on the safe side, we need to bolster our radar systems and our interceptor systems so we can shoot down any missiles that may come from North Korea. Having said all that, we must not be distracted from the bigger threat. The bigger threat is Iran. Iran, mutually shared destruction doctrine may not work because of their religious police, where they believe that giving up their own life in the furtherance of Allah's will is worthwhile. And if Iran gets nuclear weapons with missile delivery systems that can knock out what Iran calls the little Satan, Israel,
Starting point is 01:27:53 and knock out the United States of America, even if it means the total and complete annihilation of Iran, some of these Iranian leaders may do it as a matter of religious belief. And so I would tend to focus a little bit more on Iran and a threat that they pose, that Barack Obama has empowered Iran to get nuclear weapons and the delivery system sometime within the next 10 to 15 years. So do you have any insight at all on why President Trump ran on I'm going to tear up that Iranian deal and then has now come out and said, no, no, no, we can't do that. Is there, do you have any insight, any feelings on that, Mo?
Starting point is 01:28:29 Well, I am baffled again. Once you make a campaign promise, I'm one of those who believes you ought to keep it. and I do not understand why the president may have said one thing on this particular issue dealing with the Iran nuclear agreement while he was a candidate and not fulfilling whatever his campaign promise may have been during the campaign. That's akin to repeal Obamacare. We promise the American people that we would repeal Obamacare, but apparently there are a lot of people in the United States Senate and the House of Representatives
Starting point is 01:29:01 that didn't really intend to keep that promise. And the American people need to hold their feet to the fire to ensure that we deliver on the promise to repeal Obamacare. You just can't go through the motions and say, well, I tried, I voted that way. In the Senate, you have tremendous power to force things to happen, and unfortunately we don't have enough people in the United States Senate right now fighting hard to force that repeal of Obamacare.
Starting point is 01:29:28 Doing nice guy stuff going on instead of real fighters to achieve our goals. Talking to U.S. Congressman from Alabama, Mo Brooks, who is running for the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, that election happens tomorrow. Mo, what happens to the conservative movement or the Republican Party should voices like yours be brushed out and lost? and voices like Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan or even worse,
Starting point is 01:30:10 the Steve Bannons of the world, are held up. I'm going to flip it a little bit and talk about what happens if we prevail. If we get a principled conservative in the United States Senate, and as an aside, if anyone wants to help, please go to Mo BrooksforSepenet.com, Mo BrooksforSinit.com. But if we're able to prevail, that is a huge message to the establishment and they'll be shivering in their boots, okay? This 60% rule that blocks us from repealing Obamacare,
Starting point is 01:30:38 from funding the border wall, from dealing with deficits in debt, from getting rid of a lot of these giveaway programs that cause people to no longer respect the work ethic and that encourage the breakup of families and having kids out of wedlock because you get more money that way. We can make huge strides if we win, if you elect Mo Brooks from the state of Alabama in this election, because it sends a message to Mitch McConnell that he better get on the ball,
Starting point is 01:31:03 and he better start working. And this recess, this vacation that the Senate is on right now, they should get back to work and continue to confirm every single one of President Trump's nominees to various positions. They need to get back to work on repeal of Obamacare. They also need to start thinking about new Senate leadership because it will be a debacle and embarrassment for Mitch McConnell if after spending $5 to $10 million in attack.
Starting point is 01:31:29 ads against Mo Brooks and against Judge Roy Moore if their hand-picked establishment candidate, Luther Strange, does not win. So we can send a huge positive message to the United States Senate and to Washington, D.C., that it's time for a change. We're not satisfied with the New Nothing Senate. We're not satisfied with allowing Chuck Schumer and the Democrats to be obstructionist because we let them. That's the message. We have to win this race tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:31:55 Then that message gets to Washington, D.C. and they like keeping their jobs, they might start working better. Mo Brooks for Senate, Mo, M.O. Brooksfor Senate.com is where you can go and get more information and help out and get to the polls if you're in Alabama. If you like what you heard, those polls open tomorrow. And if somebody doesn't get 50%, there will be a runoff. Mo BrooksforSenet.com. Mo, thank you so much. Best of luck to you. And, sir, thank you for the years of good service in Congress. And we hope that... Thank you, Glenn. And thank you for all your help.
Starting point is 01:32:35 Thank you, sir. Appreciate it. Sponsor of this half hour is Goldline. I don't know if you've seen the price of Bitcoin lately. Anybody's seen that? What's it up to today? Yesterday was up to 4100. A couple bucks now. Anyway, right? Just 4302. 4302. So it's got up $200 in the last 24 hours. $256 in the last 12 hours. It's done fairly well recently.
Starting point is 01:33:00 What was it last week? A week ago, it's up $946 in the last week. Oh, okay. But the good thing about it is it's going to last forever. It's going to continue going up. There's going to be no down. There's no problems there. And the good news is it has intrinsic value.
Starting point is 01:33:16 I mean, you know, you can take that Bitcoin, you know, from the cyberspace. You just take your hands and you wrap the ones and zeros. And you've got yourself. And you just smear them all over your face. It makes a great face cream. It does. It does. Really?
Starting point is 01:33:31 Here's the thing. I think Bitcoin is now acting the way gold used to. The government has so suppressed the price of gold that they are trying to show, if gold were acting like Bitcoin is acting right now, it would show and cause a lot, a great deal of panic in the markets as it's supposed to show something is really wrong. it would show and cause a lot a great deal of panic in the markets as it's supposed to show something is really wrong but the governments around the world have done everything they can to suppress the price of gold now here's the good news um gold in the end is still worth gold the price of gold it's gold that one's hung around for a lot longer than bitcoin i'll tell you that yeah Yeah, and you don't keep it on several servers in cyberspace.
Starting point is 01:34:20 You can actually hold this. I mean, you think currency is bad. While paper is only worth the money it's printed on, Bitcoin's not printed on anything. There's no actual mining of anything. I want you to please be aware of the financial trouble that we are still encouraging to come our way because of the policies in Washington, D.C. And then do your homework and find out if gold or silver is right for you.
Starting point is 01:34:49 Here is one thing that nobody else. Bitcoin isn't, you're not pointing up with, what, $4,300 a coin today. And then saying, okay, but if it goes down, you're going to guarantee it, right? For $25,000, gold line will guarantee that you won't lose any money in the price of your gold. If it goes down, they will make it up for you. How can they do that? Because they know the price of gold is real. You hold it in your hand.
Starting point is 01:35:21 It is something tangible and it is something real in a world that doesn't even understand or recognize reality anymore. At the end, the gods of the copybook headings do return. And they return with everything that is real. Call Gold Line now. read their important risk information. Find out if it's right for you. 866 Goldline. 1-866 Goldline. Call them right now. 1-866 Gold Line or Goldline.com. Glenn Beck.

Maybe you skated by this long, but they are coming. You have to get out in front of your IRS problems, before they show up at your home and your work, before they take your paycheck and bank accounts, and before they add you to their 92% conviction rate. Starting point is 01:36:56 AAA 727 back. This is the Glenn Beck Program. Welcome to the program. I'm so glad that you are here. Thank you so much for listening. North Korea, the threat. towards the U.S. The president has come out and
Starting point is 01:37:15 continued his statements. I am really in this place and I don't know which it's going to be. I'm really in this place that Donald Trump on this issue is going to be remembered as Ronald Reagan or possibly Neville Chamberlain.
Starting point is 01:37:31 But nowhere in between. He's going to be remembered as the guy who was brave enough to say the hard things that made them crack and buckle or he's going to be the guy who said some things and then we were just steamrolled. Well, I mean, we're not going to be steamrolled, right? I mean, it's just, I would say any, I'd say any kind of nuclear launch is a steamrolling,
Starting point is 01:37:55 even if it's won. Yeah, we may win, but that doesn't, it doesn't feel, it's not going to feel like a win. It changes the world forever. Yeah. Changes the world forever. I noticed you're spending a lot of time on this. You haven't talked at all about the murder of Stacey Ruffin. And, you know, it's one of these stories where you don't know who, like, they're trying to figure out
Starting point is 01:38:09 who's to blame. Is it the fiancé? Is it the boyfriend? Is it a family member? Is it you? I'm not. I hate to say this. I'm hoping I'm being set up here in a good way, and I'm not alone.
Starting point is 01:38:27 I have no idea who Stacey Ruffin is. Oh, my gosh. This is a lot of evidence. We need their figures. Thank you, Pat. Stacey Ruffin, she was murdered. And 2016, by you. at least according to CNN
Starting point is 01:38:41 who tweeted, What killed Stacey Ruffin? She drowned in a 2016 flood in Louisiana that was made more likely by climate change. Are we to blame for her death? I don't know. Maybe we are. We're going to investigate that. Good gully.
Starting point is 01:38:56 We'll get into that. Also, Tampa Bay. You're next on the list because your sea level has risen and you know it. You're the next to be wiped out because of climate change. This is the Glenn Beck
Starting point is 01:39:09 program. Mercury. This is the Glenbeck program. Oh boy. This is not going to go well for President Trump. Merck CEO Kenneth Frazier has just resigned from the president's American manufacturing counsel over President Trump's unwillingness to condemn alt-right racism by name on Saturday after the violence in Charlottesville, culminating in
Starting point is 01:39:38 terrorist attack by a white supremacist. I mean, America has. is very clear on Nazis. So, I mean, I feel like it's almost like Coca-Cola or so it's like America against the Nazis since 1941. It's a notable part of our history, I would say. I would say it was pretty prominent. Pretty prominent. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:59 I mean, how we don't come out and call them by name. It's not controversial with anyone other than Nazis. He is, he is the only black member of the council. and he has just issued this statement. I am resigning from the President's Council on American Manufacturing. Our country's strength stems from its diversity and its contributions made by men and women of different faiths, races, sexual orientations, and political beliefs.
Starting point is 01:40:29 America's leaders must honor our fundamental values by clearly rejecting expressions of hatred, bigotry, and group supremacy, which run counter to the American ideal that all people are created equal. Also, as CEO of Merck and as a matter of personal conscience, I feel a responsibility to take a stand against intolerance and extremism. Okay. Let's not engage in what aboutism.
Starting point is 01:40:56 Yeah, but what about? Yeah. Because what about BLM? What about Antifa and everything else? Is he consistent on that? I don't know. I'm assuming he is. I hope he is
Starting point is 01:41:12 because that's the only way you have any credibility left and believe me, in the end in the end we are going to be left with nothing. We are going home and crossing the other side with nothing but our credibility.
Starting point is 01:41:30 That's it. In the end that's all that will matter. We're going to need that credibility soon because there's nothing credible anymore. So I'm hoping that he is consistent about BLM and anyone else that is on the other side calling for violence and extremism because of whatever the reason. Now, here's where it's going to get ugly.
Starting point is 01:42:03 President Trump just tweeted, now that Ken Frazier of Merck Farma has resigned from President's manufacturing council, he'll have more time to lower rip-off drug prices. So the president couldn't take the time to specifically say Nazi white supremacists are bad, but he can take the time to come out and say that Merck is running rip-off drug prices.
Starting point is 01:42:38 I mean, the guy you just said was one of the best people in the world, one of the best businessmen, honorable and everything else, now the minute he disagrees with you, you come out with that. I mean, it's crazy what's going on. I mean, it goes to his strengths and his weaknesses as a president. He's good at attacking his enemies, right?
Starting point is 01:43:00 He's never going to be good in the comment after the tragedy moment. He's never going to be a statesman. He's never going to hit one of those out of the park. You don't have to be a statesman on this one. You don't have to be a statesman on this one. This is a common enemy. This is not a hard one to think. They're carrying Nazi flags.
Starting point is 01:43:20 Right. It's really, I mean, that's about as basic as you can get. See the guy over there? Which one? The guy with a Hitler mustache and the Nazi flag given the Zyghiel salute? Yeah. What do you think of him? Easy answer.
Starting point is 01:43:34 Really easy answer. It's fair. That is a fair point. I would agree with it. Right. But, I mean, look at, again, if you look at the actual text of what he said, there's nothing he said that was wrong. It's not only said the Nazis were the good guys.
Starting point is 01:43:46 No. He didn't say that. He said all violence on all sides is bad. And that's true. And that's absolutely true. And we should pause for a moment and note that that's true. Because we are today on the two-month anniversary of a Bernie Sanders campaign worker going to a charity softball practice and attempting to assassinate 10% of the elected GOP members in Washington. This is not an argument about whether there is violence on both sides.
Starting point is 01:44:13 You can say, fairly, that maybe Trump isn't the guy to present that. The president of the United States might not be the guy to present that point. It might not be the time to present that point. But those are the exact things that Donald Trump doesn't embrace, those types of traditions. He doesn't care about them at all. So to act as if we all thought he was going to come out with this magical uniting statement after something like this, I don't think is an appropriate expectation for some guy like Donald Trump. He's not good at this sort of stuff.
Starting point is 01:44:40 He's good at attacking some guy who just was disloyal to him and left his counsel. And he's going to sit there and he's going to be more passionate about that. Does the president more passionate? He is. But let's think this through. Let's think this through. More passionate about a guy who leaves his counsel than a Nazi killing a woman in the street. and he can read Twitter and seeing that everyone's saying
Starting point is 01:45:16 President's not going to say anything because he backs these people up he's more impassioned about the Merck guy than just one than then then coming out and saying by the way I got nothing to do with these guys they're bad guys just on the just on the survival instincts that he has right he's being labor and I think wrongly so, a right, a white supremacy guy and a Nazi sympathizer. I don't think he's a Nazi sympathizer. I think his people like Bannon have tied him to anybody just keeping him quiet and keeping
Starting point is 01:45:55 him guessing. Well, I don't know. Maybe he is. Maybe he isn't. Using them as useful idiots. I don't think Trump has anything to do with that. I don't think Trump has any idea what the alt-right even is. However, if I'm being tied to white supremacist and I see a white supremacist go out and kill somebody,
Starting point is 01:46:17 I make sure that I condemn it in the strongest possible way. Strongest possible terms. Just for survival. Right. The issue with Trump is I think he was condemning it. Obviously, he doesn't want people killed. And he does, I don't think he thinks Nazis protesting in the street are good people. I agree with you. I agree. I agree. What he sees, though, there is a vulnerability. And rightfully so, by the way, he sees.
Starting point is 01:46:38 sees the press is going to make it out like people on my side are killing people. And we need to make sure they know that it's on both sides. I need to say that. I need to say that. I need to say that. And by the way, on the other side of this point. And to a lot of people, they'd say bless his heart for doing that. Yeah. At least he stood up and mentioned that there was violence on the other side. At the same point, the media is the same way. They only saw this story through the Trump statement prism. How did Donald Trump react to this? They didn't, they barely even saw this as an actual event. They saw this as a secondary
Starting point is 01:47:10 thing, the actual death of this person. Rather, it was about whether Trump... It's an opportunity for him every time. Whether it was, how do we wreck Trump? What did Trump do on this? Because there's an obsession with this man. By both the media and by Donald Trump himself. I agree. They're both obsessed with Donald Trump. And
Starting point is 01:47:28 they can't see their way to viewing a story in any other lens. My question is, and this is really kind of where I started and never got to. Okay, so you say he's never going to be good at that. I got that. I got that. Is there no one around him? Is there no one around him that says, Mr. President, say whatever you want, whatever you want, but you must say this. Yeah, but I think he disregards them. Yes. You know? Yeah. I mean, I think he thinks he absolutely does. He just thinks he knows better than they
Starting point is 01:48:00 do. Did you have the Mike Pence statement, pat handy? I think it was email to you if you don't have it quickly handy. But, I mean, Pence, came out and did what you would expect out of the president, right? He came out with a very strongly word. He was specific about who the enemy was. It is true. I mean, like, there's nothing, you're not demeaning your own side or
Starting point is 01:48:19 your own point or anything valid about yourself by saying these people are the worst people on earth. They are. They're terrible. Yeah, you want to separate yourself from them. This is what he said. These dangerous fringe groups have no place in American public life and in the American debate.
Starting point is 01:48:36 we condemn them in the strongest possible terms. That's all you have to do. Yeah. And he actually said at another point that KKK, he mentioned the specific groups as well. White supremacists, neo-Nazis, the KKK. You know, that's what he probably should have done. And it probably would have alleviated this controversy, though the media would have found another controversy that they didn't like about the state.
Starting point is 01:48:56 It's not just the media. I mean, David Duke and all of those guys, Spencer, I don't know if you saw anything that they were tweeting and anything they were saying. but they used his lack of, yeah, they love that and said, see, he's with us. So the alt-right is latching on to his silence and hurting him as what, they're giving that fuel to the press. However, had he done that, the David Dukes of the world would have said, well, he has to say that. Yeah, I know, but at least you had him on record.
Starting point is 01:49:31 At least you had him on record. And this is not a, I don't think the president is a racist. I don't think that the president, you know, is clearly not for Nazis. I never thought so either. I just don't believe any of that. Never believe that. Yeah. So it's not a commentary on that.
Starting point is 01:49:49 It is for a guy who seems to know how to speak to people and connect with crowds, he is absolutely and totally. tone deaf when it comes to himself and how he's being positioned as the new leader of the somewhere he's got that frog outfit in his closet. You watch he's going to put on the giant frog head. He's going to come out.
Starting point is 01:50:22 He touts himself as essentially the greater communicator, right? I mean, what it was that David French? You had the David French quote handy by any chance? He knows the best words. You know, French had a great point. He knows the best words. You know, his silence to these groups is intentional. His vague treatment of these particular groups is hard to imagine he's not doing it for some real reason.
Starting point is 01:50:48 And it might just be that the fuel between his moot has similar characteristics, maybe some shared interests, which is bad. It's not good. But, I mean, maybe he's just avoiding it because of those reasons. the Steve Bannon book that just came out, Devil's Bargain, I would say presented him in that light. It was not that Steve Bannon is some fan of the alt-writer thinks that way even. He just was able, he knew how to wrangle the energy behind it. And he really valued the energy from his life, you know,
Starting point is 01:51:18 in underground video game, you know, currency trading and all the weird stuff he did before he became sort of politically prominent. He was in those worlds and recognized the power of those groups, really passionate groups that feel underserved. And it could very well be that that's how he comes to this. It's still not comforting, though. I got to say it's got nothing to do with who I am. It's got nothing to do with anyone that I know who's been on the right this whole time.
Starting point is 01:51:44 These people, you know, Dwight Shrewd from the office was not assistant regional manager. He was assistant to the regional manager. And in the same way here, the alt-right is not an alternative right. It's an alternative to the right. It is not the same thing. It has nothing to do with what we've stood for this entire time. Think of the size of government needed to implement the policies that these people want. It has nothing to do with what we've talked about for decades.
Starting point is 01:52:10 But, I mean, all of a sudden, this is a sign to us, and I'm not willing to accept it. David French wrote, Trump is very, very specific when he wants to condemn someone. Ask the cons. Ask Comey. Ask his AG. His vagueness has a person. purpose. I hope that's not true. But you know, you see this example today, the guy from Merck, he resigns within minutes. He's on. Yeah, it's visceral. Where's the visceral reaction from the
