Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, welcome to the Wednesday podcast. Pete Hegseth had to sit in front of Senate committee yesterday. And, of course, the Democrats used their questioning to attack him, including some bizarre hypotheticals from Tim Kaine. And some of the dumbest questions. Do you like the retos from some really stupid people in the Senate? President Trump also sent some invites to foreign leaders to inauguration coming up on Monday. Who made the cut and who wasn't invited? and Anna Polina Luna, the congresswoman from Florida, joins us to talk about Pambondi, Pete Heg-Seth, what's coming up in the administration, what to watch for, and is there any news on the UAPs and the drones in New Jersey? Wait until you hear this all on today's podcast.
Starting point is 00:00:48 Let me tell you about American financing. Take 10 minutes out of your day to day. Call American financing. You don't know what you don't know. If you are looking at your finances and saying, I've got to do something about this, I've paying way too much on interest for my credit cards. With the rates now down around 5, you can get that credit card interest down from 25 to 5%. That could save you. The average person from this audience saves about $830 every single month from American financing.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Tap into your home's equity, pay down that debt. Could be the answer that you need. Give American financing a call. you'd be surprised at the option. You don't know what you don't know until you call American financing. Call Americanfinancing.net. Americanfinancing.net. Their number is 800-906 2440. American financing. Dot net. 800906 2440. You're listening to. Pat Gray joins us from Packray at least, a man who still will not answer the question about how many times he beats his wife a week. Welcome to the program. Mm, zero.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Yeah. That's zero. Uh-huh. I just answered the question. Well, no, you didn't answer honestly. When did you stop then? Yeah. That's the better question, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:02:18 So, you know what's, uh, you know what's amazing is, uh, the, the outrageous behavior of Tim Kane. I mean, I thought everybody looked stupid, but Tim Kane just looked like an ass. Yeah, he did. He did. And since when did did? And since when did Democrats start caring about that? I know. I know. This is a guy who was Hillary Clinton's running mate. Are you kidding me?
Starting point is 00:02:44 I know. Here's Tim Kane. A play cut one with Tim Kane. Man. I have failed in things in my life and thankfully I'm redeemed by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In finalizing divorces from your first and second wives, were there non-disclosure agreements in connection with those divorces? Senator, not that I'm aware of. If there were, would you agree to release those first and second wives from any confidentiality agreement? Senator, it's not something I'm aware of. But if there were, you would agree to release them from a confidence. No, I would. Senator, that's not my responsibility.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Did you ever engage in any acts of physical violence against any of your wives? Senator, absolutely not. But you would agree with me that if someone had committed physical violence against the spouse, that would be disqualifying to serve as Secretary of Defense, correct? Senator, absolutely not, have I ever done that? You would agree that that would be a disqualifying offense, would you not? Senator, you're talking about a hypothetical. I don't think it's a hypothetical.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Violence against spouses occurs every day. Yes, but your question, stop. But your question was not, does it happen every day? Your question was hypothetical. Well, yes, it was a hypothetical question. These people do not understand the English language. That's true. That's true.
Starting point is 00:04:02 I mean, and he was, you know, Heng Seth was saying it was like, this just didn't occur with me. So therefore, it's a nonsensical question. Correct. And he's trying to broaden it into, well, theoretically, if. So if somebody ever accuses you of it, you should have to step down immediately.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I mean, that's the implication there. They're trying to set that up. And we will, by the way, if you say yes to this, we will find that person. Whoever it is. Exactly right. And that's why Hankseth wouldn't go there. Right.
Starting point is 00:04:30 You shouldn't. I don't remember Tim Kane at all. talking about to finish your sentence right there. I don't remember Tim K. Did he actually run for vice president of the United States? Yeah, which is strange. He ran with Hillary Clinton who was married to a serial abuser.
Starting point is 00:04:46 He didn't really have a problem with that one. Did he ask Hillary those questions in the interview process? No, he didn't. No, he didn't. You would agree that if someone raped someone credibly they shouldn't be president of the United States. Right. Right? Right. Right. No. And I think
Starting point is 00:05:02 I think he was also the guy on stage with Emhoff, you know, calling him just a great dude. Oh, really? Yeah, you know, you got a great first husband. Excuse me, credible allegations that he slapped his girlfriend in public. Seems like abuse? Yeah, I don't think he even denied that at the time, did he? Not that I remember. I just wouldn't talk about it, right?
Starting point is 00:05:30 Right. Well, I would say he wouldn't talk about it, but no one asked him about it really. So that was kind of actually right. I also thought that Tim Kane would be our most forgettable vice presidential candidate ever. But then Tim Walls came around. So honestly, I feel like, I feel like it's the name Tim. Yeah. I think it is.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I think it is. You pulled the American people and said, who was the vice presidential candidate with Hillary Clinton in 2016? Or, yeah, it was 2016, right? Gosh, they're all running together now. What percentage of people would know? It's outside of, let's say, Virginia. 20%. You think it's that high?
Starting point is 00:06:09 Maybe not. I don't even think it's high. No, I don't think it's that high. Now, if you'd ask about Walls, right now it would be above 20%. But in 10 years, I wonder, though. Yeah, I wonder. I'm not sure, Tim Walls. I mean, Trump hasn't even taken office yet.
Starting point is 00:06:24 They didn't even know Tim Walls when, you know, when it was the heat. of the campaign. I think those who went to vote might not have known who Tim Walts. Vote for her. We know people who run surveys. Every once in a while, we'll get an email like, hey, like, any questions you want to ask in a scientific survey of the American people? Like, you know, they're just looking for additional perspectives on what they might ask. I want, the next time we get one of those, we have to ask that question. Can you remember who was the presidential VP candidate with Hillary Clinton and who was it with Kamala Harris? I think, because it's so recent, the Walls one would still be relatively high. It would be low. What would your guess
Starting point is 00:07:05 be? What, 25%? I mean, it's going to be pretty low. Oh, no. Half of these people voted for him. It's no higher than 30. Oh, it's definitely higher than 30. Really? You think so? I don't know. I think so because you think they got what, 45% of the vote. Yeah, but that was for Kamala. Yeah. They don't know his name. Right. They weren't thinking about it. They were like, you know, that Tim Walls guy. I think he could step into the role. That's fair. You might be right. You're commencing me.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Especially it was unprompted. Like it was like fill in the blank. You got to write that right in the number. No way. No way. That's incredible. You want to talk about a person with zero impact. I mean, both cane and walls.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I mean, giant zilches. Yeah. These people have risen to power. They've failed up over and over again. And they have become people who have all sorts of power, who have all sorts of power. who have all sorts of money and all the things, all the perks that they get from their jobs, but have really done nothing with it.
Starting point is 00:08:06 They're giant zilches. That is really incredible. It is. It's a lot of accomplishment. I still can't believe they picked Tim Walls. I can't believe it. And I dislike him far more than Tim Kane. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Tim Kane became very, very unlikable yesterday. But he was basically. But he still didn't, he still didn't sink to the level. I'm totally with you. I'm with Pat on this. Walls is special. I don't know what it is about him. I can't stand at all.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Can you hear what he's doing now in Minnesota? In Minnesota. This is the defender of democracy, right? Defender of democracy. He is not telling the Democrats to go to work next week. They had a secret swearing in. Why was it secret if it was so good? Why was it so secret?
Starting point is 00:08:53 Why did you have to go someplace at night and swear all of the Democrats in? and then not bring a quorum together on day one that the assembly is supposed to meet. So that way, the Republicans, which have a majority, slim, I think it's by one, majority in the assembly, they can't go to work because they won't have a quorum because nobody's showing up. And that's deep in the democracy playbook. Oh, it is. That's in the back pages. No, it is.
Starting point is 00:09:24 It's after all the references. You'll find it. It's so funny. I mean, when we started the country, we couldn't get a quorum. You know, for the first, like, I think week and a half, two weeks, every day, the founders would show up and they'd be like, okay, we only got 10 people. Can't do it. And so they couldn't start Congress. And nobody was showing up.
Starting point is 00:09:47 But that's because nobody thought the government was important. You know what I mean? They were all like, yeah. So we start a big deal. What are we going to do? spend money. You know what I mean? These guys, they love government.
Starting point is 00:10:03 And just to shut the Republicans out. Right. They'll go against the will of the people. What's the difference between this and what people are protesting in Romania? Honestly, all they did was the judges said, you know what, that candidate can't win. Isn't that really what the Democrats and Tim Walls are saying, well, nope, they can't win. They can't have that majority. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:29 It also shows their hypocrisy of the whole democratic process thing. They supposedly love so deeply and were trying to protect against Donald J. Trump. And now they completely ignore it. It's interesting. It's fascinating. And it's typical. I mean, this is what they do every single time, every time. I couldn't take yesterday.
Starting point is 00:10:53 It was just so full of hypocrisy. It was like honestly listening to Gavin Newsom lecture Ron DeSantis about state preparedness. Oh, my God. You know what I mean? I mean, it was that, you know, somebody set your house on fire and then they lecture you about fire safety
Starting point is 00:11:09 while they're holding a flamethrower. That's what we saw yesterday. Really? Really. You care about these things. You know, we care about women. Do you? Because you've done.
Starting point is 00:11:23 just been torpedoy. You couldn't even define a woman. You couldn't define what a woman is and you're now suddenly the defender of women? Come on. I'm sure they'll look like a defender of women when Pam Bondi sits there today. Oh yeah. I'm sure they will. We're going to be covering that live as it goes on today. Did you see the other thing Gavin Newsom did yesterday? No. Which can't possibly be legal. I can't possibly be legal. If he did it in California, it's not. It can't be. We can just end it there.
Starting point is 00:11:57 He is making it illegal for, let's say you're in the Palisades and your house is now a bunch of rocks and rubble. He's making it illegal for people to offer to buy your home. Because he, in his view, at least this is the stated view, these are greedy developers who are going to come in and try to rip off these homeowners. So it's illegal. If you're one of those greedy people, you can't make an offer on one of their homes. Okay, first of all, those houses, the minimum buy-in in the Palisades is like 3.5. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:33 That's the minimum. Okay. You know, there are $80 million homes there. Those people aren't going to be duped. And the ones that are $3.5 million probably are the ones that have been sitting there and cannot afford to move because of the taxes and everything else they can't afford to rebuild. So what are they going to do? You can't sell that property? Yeah. Like what if you want an offer on your big pile of rubble? What if you want to sell it? What if you realize that Gavin Newsom is so
Starting point is 00:13:09 terrible you want to exit the state? So now you're not going to get offers from people who might give you offers that you like let the person themselves judge their own situation as to whether it's a rip-off. So did you hear also about the ceiling on rentals, on the gouging? Oh, God. The price gouging. Price gouging. He, they're putting a cap on this. So it's like $6,500 a month that you could, you could charge. Well, some of these houses have $20,000 a month mortgages. Who's going to lease their house at a $14,000 loss every month? It never, ever, ever works this price gouging these laws. But again, like, just from a First Amendment perspective, isn't it illegal to say you can't
Starting point is 00:13:57 make an offer on something? You can't say you want to buy something? Like, it's speech at its core. That's all it is. I will tell you, I mean, buying something and free speech, when I was 18 years old, I went to the Vatican and I was looking at the Sistine Chapel. And at the time, I was living in Texas when Texas was Texas. And I looked at it and I just thought to myself, I know some Texan has come in here and go,
Starting point is 00:14:24 all right, how much for the painting people up there? How much you want for that? Now really, come on. Everybody's got a prize how much for that? I mean, you don't have a right to say that? Of course you do. And then what happens? The person either accepts it or rejects it, right?
Starting point is 00:14:39 And you know what? The person who owns that home, that was a home, which is now not a home, I mean, think about this. Let's say you're 72 years old. You've lived there for your entire life. You've been thinking about leaving for a while. Now your entire town's burned to the ground. You want to wait for a 12-year rebuild of your society? No.
Starting point is 00:14:55 No. You might want to leave and go to a nice retirement community. But now you won't get offers to sell your home because Gavin Newsom is terrible. Gosh, these people. Good job, guys. It's incredible. California, learn the lesson. Let me tell you about preborn. Someday, hopefully, in the not too distant future, people are going to look back on this time and be shocked that we not only tolerated abortion in our society, but we embraced it.
Starting point is 00:15:20 I don't know about you, but I want to be listed among the people who fought up, stood, and fought up against this. Today, the abortion pill accounts for over 60% of all abortions, 60. It's available pretty much 24-7. This is why the Ministry of Preborn is so important. They have rescued over 300,000 babies from abortion, and every day on average, they rescue 200 more. When a woman is considering an abortion, she hears her baby's heartbeat and sees that baby on ultrasound, and the baby's chance at life is doubled. They're doing everything they can in many ways. I'm going to be at a fundraiser for them in Florida on Saturday.
Starting point is 00:15:56 I'm going to be giving the keynote. I hope that we'll be able to announce some things that they are doing to become even stronger. But when the time is right, the time will be right. If you have the means, would you consider a leadership gift to save babies in a big way? Your tax deductible donation of $5,000 will sponsor Preborn's entire network for 24 hours. helping to rescue 200 babies. To donate, dial pound 250, say the keyword baby. That's pound 250 keyword baby or donate securely at preborn.com slash Beck.
Starting point is 00:16:28 That's preborn. com slash Beck sponsored by preborn. Now back to the podcast. This is the best of the Glenn Beck program and we really want to thank you for listening. Congresswoman Anna Polina Luna from Florida. Welcome to the program. How are you? Hey, Glenn.
Starting point is 00:16:50 Very happy to be back on. Yeah, it's good to talk to you. You were in the Air Force, right? I was. And what did you do in the Air Force? I did airfield management. Actually, my first installation was the B-2 stealth bomber. So did flight plans, a lot of inspections, a lot of reading.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Did not serve in combat. However, I definitely have an opinion or two on women in combat. I'd like to hear it. Okay, so first of all, you know, yesterday during the confirmation hearings, you know, piqued incredible. They were trying to walk him into their. sound clips or sound bites. But, you know, the one thing that I kept hearing from the Democrats was they were taking his comments out of contacts in regards to women in the military. So Pete never
Starting point is 00:17:33 said that he didn't want women to serve in the military. In fact, it's quite the opposite. But I have the same agreement in that there are certain roles that women should not be subjected to in the military, right? So in a lot of foreign countries, you'll see that there will be women only sniper teams and or women only teams that will see certain combat. Now, I preface it by saying that there has been a study that was done, and it showed that when women were placed in harm's way, that the natural instinct for men was to protect that woman. And that's a right thing to do.
Starting point is 00:18:06 That's that, quote, unquote, toxic masculinity that the left tries to attack us with all the time. That is human nature. We're born with that. But go ahead. Men are born. Right? And so when you have, though, a woman that's, let's say, placed on a special forces team, they come under fire. Hypothetically, that woman gets hurt. Instead of focusing on the mission,
Starting point is 00:18:28 as if it would be if there were just other men present, the men would then in turn go to protect that woman. And it could ultimately result in, A, more casualties, more people getting hurt, and then also jeopardize the success of admission. And so I think when we're looking at, you know, military policy as a whole, we need to take these things into account and consideration. And that's what Pete was saying. But, you know, it's very easy because Pete is a white male for them to try to demonize him and paint him as this anti-woman, you know, alcoholic womanizer, which is simply not the case. The other thing and the reason why I wanted to show my support for him was, look, Pete is a
Starting point is 00:19:04 Christian. He has the Jerusalem cross tattooed on him. That doesn't mean that he's a Nazi and that does not mean that he's a white nationalist. And so what I've been telling reporters is if Pete was so anti, you know, anti-minority, anti, you know, anything to do with what we stand for in values in this country, why would Jimmy Carter then have that same cross? They don't really have much of a response to that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:29 All right. So do you agree with him? Because I took from him yesterday something else about the military. I have no problem with women in the military, with an exception of the natural order of things where I think men, I have to tell you, if one of the guys was captured, by, you know, Al-Qaeda, I would do everything I can to make sure that one of members of my team, you know, were safe and I do everything that we should do.
Starting point is 00:20:02 However, it's different if I know that the woman member of our team has just been captured. It takes on a different meaning to me because I know what's going to happen to her in compared to, you know, Tom or Tim. And I think that is a natural instinct that you cannot get rid of. and you don't want to. The second thing that I think Pete was talking about is, and we saw this in the fire chief in Los Angeles, where she said, you know, I'll talk to people and they'll say,
Starting point is 00:20:35 well, you can't lift my husband out of our burning house. And her response was, well, you know, he got himself into a place he shouldn't be. So why should I? Okay, that's ridiculous. As long as a woman can physically do exactly what is required of the males, then I don't have a problem with that. Do you agree with that? I would say that there still is, though, this aspect of psychology and certain situations
Starting point is 00:21:02 where I don't think women should be placed, right? So right now what we're seeing is, you know, and those are all great points, one, right? So the military standards currently is that there are different standards for women and for men. That's just a fact. But there are also different requirements for different jobs, right? So like if you go in, for example, be a fighter, you're required to lift X amount, whether or not you're a man or a woman in the military. But in that sense, I would say that when you're talking about conditions where you're living in the field, when you're talking about conditions, when you know that there is going to be a psychological aspect and component, it doesn't mean that women aren't as good as men.
Starting point is 00:21:42 I think that there's been cases and can be, or women can be better snipers than men are, you know, depending on what you're looking for job-wise. But what I will say is, you know, as far as my perspective is concerned, I don't think women should be required to register for the draft. I know that Senate Democrats were pushing that in the NDAA. And I also think that women should not be placed in certain combat roles in the military, for those reasoning. I agree.
Starting point is 00:22:09 Let me switch topics with you. You were one of the biggest advocates for the UAP UFO disclosure. Any updates on that hearing, the updates on the New Jersey drones? And were you able to get David Grush into a skiff and get a classified briefing? And if so, what was your takeaway? So I was not able to get Grush into a skiff. In fact, they were blocking that via not reactivating his security clearance. And so I'm hopeful with the new incoming administration, especially because, as of right now,
Starting point is 00:22:44 you know, Marker Ruby is going through his confirmation for Secretary. of state. And I've been in the Senate, one of the big advocates and supporters of looking into UAPs, aka UFOs, and then everything else associated with that. Now, what I will say is that I've been grossly disappointed and disgusted by how the Biden administration handled what happened with the Chinese spy balloon, which, to be clear, is different than a UAP. But the fact is that some of these drones are likely tied to not just hobbyists, but also to probably more in a few. various actors, and that even if we had that information available to share to the public, I don't believe that the Biden administration would have done that because of how I saw how they
Starting point is 00:23:27 handled the drone. Yeah, the balloon traversing the United States and collecting intelligence nonetheless. It was a Chinese intelligence operation. I mean, I had one of my colleagues, Van Drew, who actually made an omission on television, that it was adversarial drones. And then you saw the intel community come out and papu it. But Van Drew, would not just make something like that up. So you're seeing kind of this risk to occur with the intelligence community and then people that do want the American people to simply know the case. Now, I think that this is probably a topic of longer discussion in regards to what a UAP is, but what's interesting, Glenn, and I know that you look at these things through a lens,
Starting point is 00:24:05 as do I, as a Christian, first and foremost. But what was interesting, when I was questioning Grush, I actually asked him, well, what would you consider, in so many words, is it like, a physical entity, and he kept calling these things interdimensional beings if we're specifically referencing UAPs. And so I think that that's just a lines and perspective to think about this from. I think that there's a lot. You know, if you would have talked about this even 10 years ago, your political career would have been over. People would have said you were conspicuous. I can tell you that this is probably the number one question I get. No matter where I'm at in the country, people come up, they've seen the hearing, they appreciate it because everyone's
Starting point is 00:24:42 curious. So I'll leave you with that. So let me just, let me just, let me just, follow that here just a little bit. The interdimensional beings, that could be spiritual, that could be a quantum being. Any idea what he meant by that? You know, I actually tried to pull on that string and he did not want to go there. And then I can also tell you that when I was talking to him with a group of other legislators on the phone prior to the hearing, that he did make the omission that he was actually in fear of his life and that something had happened where they tried to kill him. So I don't know if that was associated, but he did not want to go into that any further. And so based on my investigation, based on what we were told in the hearing, I would
Starting point is 00:25:30 say that it does not seem like it would be a good thing that he gave me the impression that this is nefarious. And so take that for what it's worth. If interdimensional, I think quantum could be, you know. Right. on the same page there. So it is so bizarre that this kind of stuff is happening. And we're not being told. Donald Trump said that he would talk about the drones on Tuesday. He said, give me a day to get settled in office.
Starting point is 00:26:00 And he said, I'll find out the drones and I'll tell the American people. Should we know, if that's China, should we know the American people? I think that it would be well within his wheelhouse. And I think that he wants the American people to start to trust their elected officials. This goes so much deeper than just having someone in the White House that's on your side, right? Because we know that, and from what I've gathered, remember, has been bipartisan and bicameral, meaning the Senate, the House, and Democrats and Republicans have all been working on this together to get some answers and information.
Starting point is 00:26:34 And there is a certain level of stow piping that we've seen with information. And then also to the aspect of I as a sitting member of Congress who sit, on oversight and foreign affairs was denied access by a general at Eglon Air Force Base to whom I responded, who gives you the right and authority to tell a duly elected member and group of congressmen that they don't have access to a program that we write the damn checks for? You have no authority to deny us access. And so that conversation probably was not comfortable for that general. How that end? Well, he left. He actually got up in the middle of our meeting and went on TDI, which any military
Starting point is 00:27:09 member will tell you never happens. He left the meeting. He left the state. he got up and left. Wow. Did you ever get an answer? No. Representative Gates and Representative Burchett were also there to witness this. I've never seen that happen. And remember, I was in the military.
Starting point is 00:27:27 He literally got up and left in the middle of the meeting, said he had orders to go TDIWI to the state of Georgia, and he never came back. Are you concerned at all about some of the conversations? We just saw another video from James O'Keefe. where he's talking to somebody who was, I think he claimed to be in the FBI, said he and others were meeting with generals to make sure that they had a control on Donald Trump. Are you confident at all this time around Donald Trump's going to be able to route that?
Starting point is 00:28:02 Oh, most certainly. And I say that has to do a lot with the confirmation of the Secretary of Defense. You know, top down, last time when President Trump was in office, I think that there was a lot of trust in people to do the right thing. And then he realized that the deep state was real. And there were people that were just running regardless of whether or not he was a Republican, and whether they were Republicans or not, that they were working against his agenda because they didn't like what he stood for.
Starting point is 00:28:27 But now what we're finding is there is going to be a group set up to go through these generals that, A, discharged military members based on vaccinations and boards. But the fact is that if you are a general and you're pushing wokeness ideologies or you're trying to undermine the objective of the commander-in-chief, you have no place in the Department of Defense, period. No. And so those people fired, and I look forward to that because I can just tell you from a congressional perspective, Glenn,
Starting point is 00:28:53 I actually had an amendment in the National Defense Authorization Act to remove DEI from military training. And I have friends still in the military, and so someone at Ramstein Air Base actually sent me an email of a officer there that was directly undermining what we did at the congressional The National lover saying Congress has removed the EI, so we're renaming it. Please still proceed with the training. So guess what?
Starting point is 00:29:16 That person is also going to be fired. And that's really how you're going to pop at the DOD. Good. You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck podcast. Hear more of this interview and others with the full show podcast. Available wherever you get podcasts. So, you know who's going to be sitting up on the steps of the Capitol? Not me.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Not you. No. No, we'll be actually covering it for Blase TV, right? This is going to be really cool. We're going to be overlooking the happenings and covering every minute of it as it happens. Yeah, I can't wait. Both here and on Blaze TV, by the way. I cannot wait to hear his speech.
Starting point is 00:29:57 This is one I'm actually really excited about. I haven't been excited about any president getting in for a very long time. Had not thought about that yet. That's interesting because what, it's a totally different. tone, I think, then the first one. Remember the first one was American Carnage? That was the American Carnage speech. And it was kind of like known as that sort of a little bit of a downer. You know, it was a little bit of a downer. And for good reason, there's a lot of problems he was talking about. And I'm sure he'll hit some of that stuff here. But this feels actually more optimistic.
Starting point is 00:30:28 I feel like we're going into a period of vision rather than one of like, gosh, the last thing sucked. Exactly right. A period of vision. What the country has needed for a very long time. vision. You know, the vision that they were selling, you know, under the Biden administration, they had to force people into that vision. Nobody saw that as inspiring. You're like, no, no, no, I don't want to do that. Then you shut up and sit down. We're going to silence your voice because you're going to do it and you're going to like it. This vision is inspiring. And that's exactly what we're getting. Now, we're also going to see Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos. They're on the guest list, but they donated a million dollars to the Trump
Starting point is 00:31:15 inaugural fund. You know, so they're like, we're with you. They're going to sit next to Elon Musk. John Roberts is going to minister the oath of office to Trump at noon on Monday. The riskiest invitation. Now, you don't usually invite other heads of state. but he did. But only ones that, you know, he thought were really important. Malay is coming. The Prime Minister of Italy, Maloney, apparently is coming. Brazilian president is coming if he could retrieve his passport.
Starting point is 00:31:59 This is Bolsonaro. If he can get his passport from Brazil, he's coming. and, oh, the prime minister or the president of Ukraine, not coming. I wasn't invited. What about Vladimir Putin? I bet he'll be there. No, he's not. How about Kim Jong-un?
Starting point is 00:32:22 He's not going to be there. You know who he did invite? Who? Xi Jinping. Really? Yeah. I don't think he's going to come. No, he's not coming.
Starting point is 00:32:30 No. He's just sending a high-level representative in his place. I mean, look, you want, I would love good relationship with China. I would too. It would be great. I mean, we're never going to have a perfect relationship because of all the terrible things they do. But I would love to not be on the verge of war with them. Me too.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Me too. And I think the president is exactly like that. You know, the difference, though, is the last president didn't have to invite him because the last president was, I mean, really already in the pocket of China. So, you know, this one, this time, the China relationship, I think, is going to be open and we'll know about it. And it'll be pro-American instead of like, I just doing what the Xi Jinping is telling me to do when we were at the side of the Mount Kilimanjero. I'm just doing that. It's going to be different with Donald Trump. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:27 When Biden was thinking about inviting him, he just walked in the room. He was like, I think I want to invite Xi Jinping and Hunter. was just like, oh, I'm on WhatsApp with them right now. What do you want me to tell him? It's funny. He just said that he should invite you to your inauguration. The inaugural parade also is going to have the MAGA garbage truck. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:33:49 Yeah. And he's got Kerry Underwood. He has fireworks. She's taking a beating over this, by the way. You know, which is weird. I mean, you know, look, I don't think she's in a big, is this an endorsement of Trump? I think she's just, first of all, a performer. Second of all, thinks the country should come together.
Starting point is 00:34:07 Doesn't think Republicans are all evil, which I guess is the standard you're supposed to have. Right. You know, but I mean, like, I remember going to a Republican National Convention with you back in the day, Glenn. And, you know, the rock came out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Dwayne Johnson came out and he spoke at it. And it's like, well, he, again, this is a long time ago, but he's, you know, obviously a massive star. And it wasn't like, hey, I endorse all Republican tax cuts. It was just like someone who was saying like, hey, like, you know, I love America. It was basically all he said. And that's exactly what Carrie Underwood is saying.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Yeah. I just, I love my country. And this is an important moment. Maybe we can all come together. And I think that's important. Maybe, maybe America were returning to that place to where we don't have to hate each other if we vote differently. Wouldn't that be nice?
Starting point is 00:34:58 Wouldn't that be nice? By the way, YMCA, the village people are coming. I don't know when they're going to be interesting to see when they're actually going to perform. I mean, it might be weird to have the cowboy construction worker, the police officer, and the Indian on stage there in front of the Capitol. I don't, I mean, I don't think that's what's going to happen, but I don't know. It's Donald Trump. He's got the garbage truck in the parade. Who knows?
Starting point is 00:35:28 Anything could happen just about anything. And of course, Michelle Obama is not going to be there. Barack Obama is going to be there. Yeah, that's interesting. Michelle, that is a notable one, right? Barack's going. The Bushes, the Bushes don't like Trump. They're going.
Starting point is 00:35:46 Oh, they hate it. They're going. Because they respect what's going on here. It's a different message from Michelle. She doesn't respect it. No, she hates it. She hates it. By the way, Mike Johnson has said that the flags are going up to full.
Starting point is 00:36:03 staff just for the inauguration, then they'll be lowered after. He said he thinks it's appropriate that we honor Jimmy Carter the way it should be, but we also honor the incoming president during the inauguration. So I think that's a reasonable compromise. It's obvious, obvious, right? I mean, you wonder, I don't know, is it standard Glenn? You know this stuff better than I do, but like, is it standard 30 days of flag lowering? Yes, for a president.
Starting point is 00:36:30 So that's a normal thing for a president. Yeah. So I'm sure it wasn't a message being sent by the Biden administration. You could lower the flags for Jimmy Carter based on what he did for about 10 minutes. And I would think that's being very generous. Very generous. However, he was the president of the United States. Everybody should be treated exactly the same. No matter how they, you know, performed in office, he should have, you know, 30 days of the flag lowered. So I stand for that. But I also. believe the president in the United States on inauguration day, that is a visionary day. That is a day that we're not looking to the past. We're looking to the future. So during the inauguration, those should be raised in honor of the incoming president and then brought back down after the inauguration. And frankly, it looks like we're mourning the new president coming into office.
Starting point is 00:37:25 Exactly right. It looks terrible. I would say that for anyone. I would also say 30 days is just excessive. for any president. I don't care who it is. I don't like the pomp and circumstance around this. I don't like the state funerals. I don't like the parades. I don't like any of it.
Starting point is 00:37:41 This is not Great Britain. This is not, we don't have it. I don't know. When Reagan died, I went to the funeral and I, you know, I stood in line to, I guess, view the casket, which was a little weird. But I didn't have a problem with that. I know. I know you didn't. But you still did.
Starting point is 00:38:04 It's not like my biggest complaint about the country. Right. But I think it would be meaningful for a country like the United States that broke away from all of that that was founded in a revolution against countries like that to just say, you know what? We respect what that guy did. But he's just another guy. He's just a freaking other guy. A president is not king. He's not a dictator.
Starting point is 00:38:27 He's another guy in our, he's a person who of note. Here's a day, but then that's it. I think, and, you know, who is going to do this because they all love it, but that would require first the president of the United States when he leaves office to say, no, please call me Mr. Trump, Mr. Beck, you know, whoever it is, because I'm no longer the president. And that's important. What George Washington wanted was you returned back right in, you know, you served, but you're not senator for life. I mean, well, they are now. But, I mean, you know, you were supposed to not come home in a box. You're supposed to return back into the workforce.
Starting point is 00:39:09 I mean, it was the George Washington vibe, right? That's what he wanted. He wanted you to be, you go, you take this position. It is a position with all sorts of checks and balances on it, with limited power. That is, it's not co-equal branches of government. Congress actually has more power than the president of the United States in our system. The president can't eject congressman. Congressman can eject the president.
Starting point is 00:39:35 Correct. So it is supposed to be a system that doesn't look at that position as a god. And I do think when you're talking state funeral, I'm thinking of like Lenin. You know, that's what comes in mind. It's like that. I just, it's too much. It's not the biggest thing in the world, but it's too much for me. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:56 I mean, did you have a problem with the train bringing Lincoln's? body home and everybody's standing by the train tracks. I mean, I think a, I think people, it's a good, yeah, people want a little bit of mourning. But again, we're talking, what we're just discussing is a month, a month, a month of the flag,
Starting point is 00:40:16 of all the flags in America and half staff for a guy who's a hundred years old, and by the way, a horrible president. Right. Well, you got to give it the same for everybody, but I think you're right on that. And I also think, I also, I mean, I think we spend more time today than I ever remember as a kid with our flags at half staff.
Starting point is 00:40:36 You're like, who they all die? I know. A lot of times I don't know. Yeah, it's like lucky the cat, you know, the last president's cat that you didn't even know died. We have to have it down for three days. I mean, I don't even, they seem to always be at half staff. And it's like, can we not do that? Because that way when you say who died, when you ask that question, people will have an answer.
Starting point is 00:41:00 but the answer I constantly get back is I have no idea. Yeah, I don't know. Honestly, honestly, I saw it the other day at half staff and it took me a second. I was like, what? Why is that at half staff today? And I was like, oh, is it Carter still? Yeah, like, and it was. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:19 And I eventually, you know, thought about it and figured it out. But it wasn't like instant like, oh my gosh, the national tragedy of the 100-year-old man, who by the way has looked dead for about seven years. is now dead. And look, congratulations. The guy made to 100 years old. No knock on him. Apparently, he got out and voted even in this past election. That was a miracle. Did you see him? He was spry. He looked spry. He looked like I'm going to, I'm going to mark that box. Which means, surely, I want to, I want to check the box for Joe Biden. No help whatsoever on that, Glenn. None. But again, I just, it's not a knock on. I have a lot of knocks on. I don't think he was a good one.
Starting point is 00:42:02 But I'm with you. You know, a lot of people probably did appreciate him. He was a nice guy. He was a nice guy. He wasn't like this evil figure in my head. So I get it that you're going to have a morning. And, you know, you could choose, I assume, as president to say, I don't want a state funeral.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Oh, yeah. If he wanted it and he wants to put millions and millions of dollars of our money to celebrate his presidency after he's dead, that's, I guess, up to him. I just don't think it's a wonderful idea. By the way, I just think of how many times the American. about how think about it for just a moment this way as I like to do from time to time all the taxes you will ever pay in your entire life combine them all and you've paid for like one 18th of a mile of the parade of his casket like it's it's so I don't know exactly but it's like
Starting point is 00:42:53 all the money all the security all the things that went into that so that's another thing I just don't think it's right look at these funerals as a celebration not of life, the end of secret service protection. So you're saving money. You like a celebration. The burden is finally off our shoulders. That's true. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:15 That's true. I can't imagine he would be a, I mean, you wouldn't have to be very fast to be able to defend him. He's not moving around all that much of those later years. Those were the fat, you know, DEI hires that were, you know, they can't run, they can't jump, they can't, they can't do anything. Once he's in a secure location, there's not much going to happen. Right.
Starting point is 00:43:35 No. No. And he's not real active. Well, that hasn't changed in the last year from right now for about the last 12 or 48 months. Quick question. Yeah. Better president. Joe Biden or Jimmy Carter.
Starting point is 00:43:54 Jimmy Carter. Currently. If you could pick one to be currently the president of the United States, which one would you pick? I pick Carter the second. But is it any different than what we have right now? I think so because Biden is currently doing harm to the country. Carter would just not do anything. Those people would still be around Jimmy Carter.
Starting point is 00:44:15 He voted today. He can sign things. Carter couldn't sign anything. Now they could forge his signature. I don't think it would be believable. When you were little, when you were pretty, you had braced, Always in trying to negotiate and do
