Starting point is 00:02:11 We're glad you're here. Glenn, a mostly peaceful good morning to you. A mostly peaceful good morning to you, too. That is great. I feel somewhat insecure now, but it was mostly peaceful, your greeting. Also, I say I do Jason Buttrill, who is up at the ranch this week,
Starting point is 00:02:33 because we've been working on some stuff, including everything that is going on in Los Angeles, what's coming on Saturday. Wait, I mean, just wait. I think we had kind of the closest we'll get to a declaration of war from Gavin Newsom yesterday. I want you to play the Gavin Newsom, what he looked into the camera and had the balls to say yesterday.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Listen to this. He's declared a war, a war on culture, on history, on science, on knowledge itself. databases quite literally are vanishing. He's delegitimizing news organizations, and he's assaulting the First Amendment and the threat of defunding them. Stop, stop, stop, stop. I just, I, is he talking about George Soros? Is he talking about the professors in our universities? Is he talking about the entire Democratic Party?
Starting point is 00:03:26 No, he's just talking about Donald Trump. It is remarkable to me how he says this is an attack on science. truth on our history, how he's delegitimizing that. I mean, are you kidding me? But wait, there's more. At threat, he's dictating what universities themselves can teach. He's targeting stop. Stop! Stop! Donald Trump is now dictating what universities can teach. Well, yeah, because you got rid of all questioning of everything. I mean, I don't have a problem. You want to teach that there's 800 different, you know, uh, sexuality or whatever, you know, uh, genders. Sam. You want to, you want to, you want to teach that fine. But don't tell me that's all I can teach. Don't tell me that
Starting point is 00:04:26 I have to sit there and take it. No. Do you, you know, please Gavin, but I digress. This isn't even the part I wanted you to hear. Go ahead. More. the judicial brats that are the foundations of an orderly in civil society. He's calling for a sitting governor to be arrested for no other reason. I mean, okay. Can we stop? Stop. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:04:47 I can't. Never going to get to the important part, but go ahead. It's impossible to let that slide. They just spent four years trying to put the person he's talking about in prison. Yeah. And they're just shocked that any. political figure would consider putting one of his political opponents in jail. Whoa,
Starting point is 00:05:11 how, they're considering arresting me. Yes, the governor of a state, not the guy who's actually currently president of the United States. I mean, it's absolutely, it's as if.
Starting point is 00:05:24 It's bonkers. Yeah, it's bonkers. It's as if they believe we forget every day the next day. Like we're in a, Adam Sandler movie or something. That's not how this works. Let me just say this to you.
Starting point is 00:05:39 To all of the Democrats who are currently scheming and planning all these things and writing these speeches, the American public is not Dory. Yes. We're not Dory. We remember
Starting point is 00:05:55 what you did yesterday and what you did just a few minutes ago. We remember those things. By the way, he goes on to and they want to put me just because I was elected. Okay. All right. Let's move on.
Starting point is 00:06:13 What else? For getting elected. And we all know this Saturday. He's ordering our American heroes, the United States military, and forcing them to put on a vulgar display to celebrate his birthday. Just as other. What? Stop.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Oh, my. I can't. Take it. Okay, so there's a military parade in Washington, D.C. Donald Trump has always loved these military parades. He's never done a military parade. You know why he's doing it this year? Because it's the military of the United States government. It is the 250th birthday. He's not putting it on for his birthday. It just happens to fall on the same day as his birthday. He's putting the military parade on to celebrate the 250th birthday. birthday of the military. I mean, how stupid do you have to be? Well, you have to be dumb enough to live in California to believe this guy. I mean, but anyway, I digress. That wasn't even the point either. He's getting to the point. Listen. Failed dictators have done in the past. Democracy is next. Democracy is under assault before our eyes. This moment we have feared has arrived. That's it. That's the line I want you to hear. The moment democracy is under attack, the moment we have feared has arrived.
Starting point is 00:07:43 So everything that they have been building up, that Donald Trump is a dictator, that Donald Trump is going to take over, that Donald Trump is going to take away everybody's rights, that Donald Trump is going to use the military to put people and have them disappeared in the streets, that he's a failed dictator, all of this stuff. Everything they've been planting,
Starting point is 00:08:02 he's just announced has arrived. Now, if that moment has arrived, what are you supposed to do about it? This is the biggest problem with my job, because I'm telling you, this moment has arrived. So what am I telling you to do? To educate yourself on the Constitution,
Starting point is 00:08:28 on civics, know what you're supposed to do. read double your effort on trying to find the truth don't believe everything you see on TV or on the internet either from the left or the right do your own homework i'm trying to make you independent make sure that you are not dependent on any system that you're dependent on yourself and you're ready to serve others what are they saying well we know Hamas yesterday came out said, it's time there is no red line for any Muslim in America. It's time to assassinate all those who like Israel, help Israel, will stand with Israel, anybody who, you know, kill anybody in the family of Donald Trump, anybody in the family of our vice president to kill anyone
Starting point is 00:09:20 in his cabinet and their family, anyone in Congress and their family, and there is no red line. Well, so we know that. Of course, I haven't heard Gavin Newsom. I mean, they're all in with all of these people. I mean, this is an Islamist, communist movement. They're in bed with them. Have you heard anybody come out and denounce that? Nope. What are they saying?
Starting point is 00:09:45 Get to the streets? Because they may not be saying that to you, but they are saying it behind closed doors. And we're going to show you tonight on TV. My Wednesday night special, Jason and I've been working on this all week to try to get enough of this ready for you, to show you all the connections.
Starting point is 00:10:02 This is very well orchestrated. We can show you who is funding it. We can show you where it's coming from. Who's running it? It is disappointing to me that we don't have the administration working as loudly as they should be. I know that, I think it was Cash Patel came out and said they are going after the funders and there. But this is, this is the only message that we should be giving people is don't believe any of this. This is not, this is not grassroots.
Starting point is 00:10:30 isn't just spontaneous. This has been planned for a very long time. This is part of the color revolution. And in case you don't know, the color revolution is something that we have planted as a CIA. We do color revolutions all over the world. We topple governments all over the world. We've done it forever. And they're called, it's a very specific plan. It's called color revolution. We know how it's done. And I've been telling you for the last four years, five years, that a color revolution is happening to us. And I showed you all of the evidence. I showed you the names of the people. I showed you how they were connected.
Starting point is 00:11:06 I showed you USAID. I showed you everything before anybody was talking about it and showed you that this is a color revolution, and it is coming here to America. Now, thank God, there are many people online now that have just as good information that I have, and they are starting to find it themselves and show it themselves,
Starting point is 00:11:28 some of them with personal experience, in some of these areas, agencies, and those are the voices that you need to listen to, the ones who are telling you and showing you with facts, not just little speeches, but showing you with facts exactly what's going on. Now, who do you not listen to? Well, you don't listen to people like Nancy Pelosi. Remember, we have Nancy Pelosi on tape filmed by her own daughter on January 6th saying, this is my fault. I should have allowed the National Guard in. They warned us.
Starting point is 00:12:04 The president, we know as a fact, called multiple times many days in advance and said, look, January 6th is going to be a tough day. I have the National Guard standing by. Just do you want it? And Nancy Pelosi in her office said, no, over and over and over again. So what does she say? When was this?
Starting point is 00:12:25 What's the date today? Is today the 11th? She just said this. She just said this yesterday. Listen to this. In a bipartisan way, on January 6th, with violence against the Constitution, against the Congress, and against the United States Capitol, we beg the President of the United States to send in the National Guard. Stop. Not true. In any way, shape, or form. This is not a half-truth. This is a. Bald face lie. Not true in any way, shape, or form. She did not beg on January 6th.
Starting point is 00:13:07 Instead, the White House was begging them. They are ready. They're waiting. They can be there. No, no, no, no. Days before and on January 6th. Go ahead. He would not do it.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Not only would he not do it. When law enforcement, people, being harmed, some later died. He would not send him. From unrelated injuries. When his, an instigation that he insurrection that he incited was causing damage to those to protect the capital. Stop.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Why wouldn't they charge? If he incited an insurrection, he clearly cannot be president in the United States. If you had that evidence, why didn't you charge him with that? Because you have no evidence. that is not true. You have to then present to a court. Okay, this is what he said about
Starting point is 00:14:06 the National Guard. He was trying to send the National Guard. His people were calling during the insurrection saying, please, do you want the National Guard? And nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, no, no. Okay. So that's why you don't charge him with
Starting point is 00:14:22 insurrection because it's not true. But they can say anything. They can say anything. And the media laps it up. Good thing is, media is not that important. By the way, I have an announcement coming up in just a little while at the top of the second hour in just a few minutes on the media and where they are. And gosh darn it, it couldn't have happened to a nicer group of people.
Starting point is 00:14:48 But as they are lying to you and feeding you the Gavin Newsom thing, feeding you now yesterday the Nancy Pelosi thing, where she says, and now, just like any dictator, California doesn't need it, and he's sending in the National Guard. It's fascinating how these people just think they can get away. We're not Dory. Again, we're not Dory. I remember, okay? It's not a coincidence.
Starting point is 00:15:18 I think it's 225 or 255 times in the Bible. The Lord uses the word, remember. Okay? whenever he says something once or twice, you should pay attention to it. When he says it 225 times, remember, it's probably important. That is our biggest problem. We don't remember. That is the biggest thing you can do.
Starting point is 00:15:44 You want to stop all this chaos? You want to stop this nonsense? Remember. Remember, it's the 250th anniversary of the military on Saturday. Remember that it also happens to be Donald Trump's birthday. So when they say he's doing it on his birthday, they're not lying, but they are leaving out the truth that it is the 250th birthday. So this is a celebration.
Starting point is 00:16:10 A 250th anniversary, what is coming up next year? Our 250th year anniversary. Anybody remember the bicentennial, 1976? It was everywhere. Everything we did for a year was decided. celebrate the 200th anniversary. This is now the 250th anniversary. And so this is a 250th anniversary parade.
Starting point is 00:16:38 You have to be informed with the facts. You have to remember it and you have to hold people responsible for it. Back in just a second, standby. You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program. Today is the day that you can make an important decision. do you keep your current cell phone plan, you know, the one where you shell out big money every month to a big mobile corporation donating that money to leftist causes,
Starting point is 00:17:03 or do you switch to Patriot Mobile, which charges way less and shares your values? I don't know. Choice seems pretty simple to me, because I see Patriot Mobile, they've got an action side of them, not related to Patriot Mobile, that Patriot Mobile donates to be able to help us elect the right people
Starting point is 00:17:24 in school boards, and even, you know, all statewide elections. They're not involved in any federal election. I'll tell you that right now. Patriotmobile.com slash Beck. You can go there now. Please, this is the lowest. You're going to save money.

Starting point is 00:18:05 From 1992, I believe this is the NBC report on the 92 riots in L.A. Listen. March 16, 1991. Latasha Harlins, a black teenager, is shot and killed by a Korean store owner, Sunja Du. Doe is convicted of voluntary manslaughter, but is sentenced only to parole in a small fine. The black community is outraged and remembers. What, six months probation? I mean, the people were pissed then. Today, local Korean radio is broadcasting which stores in the area are threatened.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Young men like Eddie Kim rush over to try to defend them. I don't care about the racism. I don't care anything, but it's not right, okay? It's not right to break inside and get any stuff. It's not, I don't think it's right. He Lee spent last night and will spend tonight guarding his appliance store. A small battalion of employees and relatives will try to help. I only have one shotgun. That's all I have.
Starting point is 00:19:08 What do they have? They have hundreds of crazy people, hundreds of crazy young people with lots of guns. After the destruction, many Koreans have lost all faith that the authorities can protect them. them. We have one of those Koreans that were protecting people. Tony Moon, a rooftop Korean from 1992. Welcome, Tony. How are you? I'm doing well, Glenn. Thank you for having me on the show. It's a pleasure. I've got to tell you. What an honor to have you on. Can you take us through the experience that you had in the 92 L.A. riots? Of course. I was 19 at the time, and fairly similar, a little familiar with Tasha Hogan's verdict, but being 19, I wasn't really plugged into politics or current events.
Starting point is 00:19:58 And then when things blew up after the Rodney King verdict, it came down on a Wednesday is when we saw the outrage from the black community. And that's what it was in 92. It was basically a community that had legitimate reasons to be upset. And there was a rift between the black community and the Korean community because the Korean community actually went into these black areas that were predominantly black and open businesses there, and we're doing business in the community. And because of the cultural differences between the two, there was a lot of, I guess you can say, built up animosity towards each other. And that's where, I guess that's the riots.
Starting point is 00:20:40 A lot of the pent of frustration was targeting Korean business owners because of that. And it went on from Wednesday through the weekend until the National Guard showed up. but we were fending for ourselves by Thursday, and the call went out on Thursday, and once it went out is when many of us answered the call. A lot of the misconception that's online is that it was just Korean shop owners, which isn't true. There were a lot of young men like myself, 19, 20, you know, 22-year-olds that went out there.
Starting point is 00:21:11 And that's kind of what I'm writing in my book right now from that perspective. Growing up in Los Angeles at that time, and what the culture was like and who some of these young men were, one of them being Eddie Lee, who gave his life that week for the community. And unfortunately, it was through friendly fire, and I detailed that on my book regarding why that happened and who some of these young men were like myself
Starting point is 00:21:39 and my driver who was out there. And we weren't all on the roof, which is another misconcession. Some of us were out there. where we were hunting. And I, again, I talk about that. What do you mean by we were hunting? You know, they think, a lot of people think we're just shooting at looters,
Starting point is 00:21:59 which is not the case. In 90s, L.A., it was a very gang-rich culture in the 90s. I mean, there were a lot of gangs. One of the largest gangs that came out of L.A. is MS., which is short from Mara Thabatruccia, which is Salvadorian gang that started in the mid-80s. and a lot of them were shooting at these business owners. And some of us who had a background in the streets knew their territory and knew who they were.
Starting point is 00:22:30 So we actually went into some of these areas to basically let them know, put them on notice that it's not just, you know, the older generation is shooting at them, but we're actually going to be actively hunting them down too. And L.A. is very layered and complicated. There's a lot of different pockets and neighborhoods where, you know, you have different different, different, different, ethnic groups. And the rule is that you don't go into other people's area and mess around. And you stay in your own neighborhood. You know, you'd be respectful of other people's, you know, different neighborhoods. You don't go there and just start popping off shots. And that's kind of what they were doing. And I'm glad to say that, that it worked out. In the end, it worked out.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Well, I know I lived in New Haven, Connecticut, you know, that has a very rich Italian history. And that was the way it was. You know, the Italians protected their neighborhood and don't come into the Italian neighborhood and try to stir anything up, or you'll be in trouble with the Italians. And they won't, they won't mess with you in your neighborhood. Just everybody take care of yourself. Yeah. So did you ever feel like a vigilante in any way? Did you feel that maybe this was questionable to take this on yourself?
Starting point is 00:23:42 No, not at all. When you have, you don't have law enforcement out in the streets anymore. You know, the streets become the Wild West. You know, it's everybody for themselves. It's, you become, you kind of gain kind of a tribal, tribal sense of protecting your own, right? So it's no longer a sense of vigilanteism, but just protecting your own and then making sure that there isn't any encroachment into, I guess you can say, your territory. So I didn't see it as being a vigilante, but just, you know, maintaining law and order, a somewhat law and order and some sort of, semblance of peace. And that was done through the barrel of, you know.
Starting point is 00:24:26 Compare what you went through, you know, the Rodney King riots, the George Floyd riots, and this riot. Is there any difference? Absolutely. Absolutely. The 1992 riots were organic. You had different parts of L.A. County that were upset, and you had fires and looting because the black community was spread out through South LA, Compton, South Central, Ladera Heights, different areas. And you can actually see that, you know, when you are looked at the city as a whole from, let's say, Hollywood, you saw the fires from different parts of the city. These riots that are occurring now, which is like the 2020, what I call the Antifa BLM riots,
Starting point is 00:25:13 and now the 2025 LA rights that are happening down, they're very centralized. and they're not organic. They're being funded by NGOs, and it's a leftist, Marxist agenda that's being pushed to make it appear as if there's a widespread support for this. For example, the current rights that are occurring right now, it's just happening in downtown L.A. And the curfew that was imposed by Mayor Bass
Starting point is 00:25:36 is only for, I don't know it off Tomahamah, but I think it's a two square mile radius. Yeah, it is. Or one square mile. Yeah, I mean, that's where it is. I mean, anywhere outside of that one square mile, life is proceeding as it always has been, and it doesn't look like anything is going on. Whereas the difference in 1992, whether you were in Hollywood, Culver City, which is further out west,
Starting point is 00:25:59 and then Hollywood is up north past downtown L.A., and obviously south of downtown L.A., you had fires, you know, looting. I mean, it was widespread. This isn't anything like, you know, what's going on back in 1992. And it just kind of shows the incompetence of the current leadership of not being able to get their arms around something like this. And they are, because of their lack of leadership, and I would say common sense, they're letting these protesters spiral out of control because many of them, the playbook is for them to start in downtown L.A. at City Hall and then make their way down to the 101 freeway, which really pisses off a lot of people because that's, you know, it's a, it's a highly
Starting point is 00:26:40 traveled freeway in L.A. It's a parking lot. You stop me from getting home. I don't care. care if you're free for free candy bars, reindeer and Santa. I hate your guts if you delay me from on that highway. I hate you when I'm driving home. Absolutely. So there's no widespread support for this. Okay. So tell me about how the feel, what the feeling is on Trump and the National Guard coming in. I think it's awesome. I think this should have been done back in 2020. But obviously,
Starting point is 00:27:13 you know, during that time, it was this first administration, you know, the first time going through this. But I posted it recently on Twitter that, you know, when you take a shot at a man and you try to assassinate him, he comes back different, you know, and that's what he's showing. Yeah, yeah, it is, it is. Newsom and Bass, both say the riots are contained, they didn't need the National Guard, that this is Trump just trying to turn into a dictator, that this is their communities, having enough of these people being disappeared on the streets.
Starting point is 00:27:46 What do you say? What is the average person that you talk to say about those kinds of things? I would trust the meteorologist more than I would trust News and more Bass. They're in the same basket as Pelosi. They lie about what's going on because of social media and because of the lack of reporting from the local news. which covers for the current leadership in L.A. County, including the mayor and the board of supervisors, the people that are not getting 100% of the news. And this is no different than what happened in early this year with the fires with what was going on. And to say, I'll say it's Altadena.
Starting point is 00:28:29 You know, the news, in order to get coverage for the local leadership and to get on their good side, they're not going to report anything bad that's happening. But currently, there are, I believe, there's a class action lawsuit against the board of supervisors, the mayor. I think there's tons of lawsuits that are being filed right now. And the problem is that it's not these individuals that are going to be paying for these. It's the city and the county, which is going to be a drain on the budget. And it's going to affect the social services that we need like paramedics, firefighters, you know, law enforcement.
Starting point is 00:29:01 I can't imagine being those guys. Yeah. Yeah. Let me ask you for any advice you would give to mom and pop business owners that are vulnerable today. A lot of them are in downtown LA. I would say bored up. What I've noticed in 1992, the shops that were spared were the ones that had to steal roll-up doors. Those do well.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Otherwise, now lock your doors. And deterrence is really a great way to keep looters out of your store. So you don't necessarily have to take shots at them. But displaying, I outline it in my Twitter feed. It's pinned to my profile. The turrets is actually really great because these individuals are looking for low-hanging fruit. So they want their opportunity. So they want to go for the easiest shop or whatever they're going to loot.
Starting point is 00:29:56 So if they go move, they see you, you know, let's say you have a shotgun or, you know, an AR. Right. And they see that you're on. They're going to think twice before entering and they'll move on to the next target. By the way, you can follow Tony Moon at Roof Korean 7. That's his Twitter handle, Roof Korean 7. When's your book come out? You've got to send me a copy so I can read it in advance,
Starting point is 00:30:21 because I want to have you back when it's out. Absolutely. You've been most gracious to me. I don't know if you know, but I did an interview with Morgan Zegger's about three years ago in your studio. That's been turned into a museum. I think you have some really great artifacts in there. I do. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Yeah, thank you. that. Yeah. I'm planning to release it. Well, I'm finishing it up by the end of, near the end of this month. My kids are going to read it because the book is tailored towards the next generation, like Gen Alpha, Gen Z. Because these are the kids that weren't along with at that time. And they don't, they only see what, you know, online social media betrays and then also, you know, what they may hear from the news. So I want to give them an account from being, from a teenage perspective. of that 19 in terms of what it looked like and how it laid out. So my kids are going to read it first. I have some really close friends.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Some of them are in my book. They're going to read it too. And once they give their blessing and they're okay with it, I'm going to try to push out before the end of the summer. That's great. Well, do me a favor. As soon as you're comfortable, send a copy to me so I can read it because I'd like to be ahead on it.
