Trump, the 45th and 47th President of the United States. Last night, I was at one of the inaugural balls. That was fun. Oh, my gosh, I can't get enough of them. It's a big day. No, it is a big day. It is a big day. I'm just not a guy who likes to. Be around other people.

Be around other people. Okay. Yes. Yes. So, and especially when you're standing there and the band is so loud, you can't hear anything. And so people that continue to talk to you and you're like, uh-huh, uh-huh. And then they look at you like, that wasn't a uh-huh kind of response I was looking for. And I'm like, I can't hear you.

I just told you my daughter died of cancer yesterday. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. It's good. That's great. That's great. Keep it up. So anyway, I, last night I wrote a speech for what I hope the person.

president will say today, if I were writing the speech for Donald Trump, I want to share it with you. This is what I would have him come out and say. My fellow Americans, today we stand together at the dawn of a new chapter in our nation's history. This moment is not just about a new administration. It is about a new commitment to the founding principles that built this republic. It's about the restoration of power to where it rightly belongs with you, the American people. too long our government has drifted from its purpose. Too often it's overreached, overtaxed, overspent, and overwhelmed the very citizens it was created to serve. Today, that era of excess ends. The time has come to reaffirm the truth that our rights come not from government but from

God. Government doesn't create. It can't invent, it can't inspire. Its role is not to command, but protect to preserve the freedoms that allow you to build your dreams, for you to raise your family, and you to live your life without interference. For decades, the bloated federal bureaucracy has grown unchecked, sapping the vitality of our economy and the strength of our communities. Departments that were meant to have help have become barriers to progress. Agencies designed to protect have too often been punished and punishing. the very people they exist to serve.

But today, I pledge to you to dismantle what has become an unaccountable administrative state and are going to begin with closing the Department of Education, returning its power of teaching our children to the parents, to the local communities, to the state government, where it belongs. Washington, D.C. has no business deciding what our children learn or how they're taught. But I'm not going to stop there. any department or agency that is ineffective, inefficient, or usurps the rights of the states or the people will face the same scrutiny and same end. The balance of power shifts, has shifted too far from the people to the unelected officials who believe they answer to no one.

So let me be clear. They answer to the president. And as your chief executive, I answer to you. The administrative state will be reduced in size and scope. Those who think today that they can outlast this administration and maintain the status quo will find that the days of faceless power are over. Now, the national debt, it's a silent thief. That's all it is, robbing future generations of their prosperity. Overspending has put us on a perilous path and no responsible leader can allow it to continue.

We will balance the federal budget by making government smaller, smarter, and more focused. Programs that don't deliver results are going to be eliminated. Fraud, waste, and abuse will be rooted out. And as we reduce the size of government, we are going to unleash the potential of the private sector to drive innovation, create jobs, and build wealth. To those who say it can't be done, I say this. Watch us. this is not a time for excuses but bold action. We are going to leave our children not a legacy of debt, but a legacy of opportunity.

Now, no American who abides by our laws should ever live in fear of the government. But today, far too many Americans do, whether it's political persecution, administrative overreach, or an unbalanced justice system. Many have been silenced or crushed by the weight of this government that was supposed to serve them. I'm going to ensure that justice is blind, fair, and free from political influence. Those who broke our laws on either side of the aisle, they will be held accountable. But let me also say this, political persecution will end on my watch. It has no place in a free society.

We're going to restore common law in our courtrooms, common sense, in our schools and common decency in our public discourse. We're going to ensure that the Bill of Rights is not just words on paper, but a living promise to every American. A nation without borders, a nation without laws is a nation that does not exist. For far too long, our borders have been porous, leaving us vulnerable to the trafficking of drugs, children, and human lives. This is not compassion.

This is chaos. ends now. We're going to secure our borders. We're going to enforce our laws. We are going to deport those who have entered illegally. And to the cartels that profit from this evil, consider this your notice. Comply with our laws or we will destroy your operation with a full might and power of the United States. Every American has a right to feel safe in their home, their neighborhood, and their community. We're going to ensure that law enforcement has the tools and support they need to do their jobs, and we will back the blue.

We're also going to end the endless wars abroad, because they've drained our resources and diverted our focus from our own people. We're going to bring our troops home from the conflicts all over the world. We're going to stop sending money to Ukraine. We're not going to send troops to the Middle East. We're going to stand firm against tyranny, mark my words, but we're not going to waste American lives and treasures on war that doesn't serve our national interest. We're going to confront evil where exists, but we're going to do it with clarity,

strength, and purpose, and we will do it quickly and come home. We will no longer coexist with those who traffic in human misery at any level or seek to destroy the innocent. America will lead the world by example, not by endless entanglements. And to those despots, terrorists, and simple opportunists, understand this. The blue American passport means something again beginning today. It means the holder is an American citizen. Now, citizens should know that this government works for them.

But if they enter a foreign country, they need to know they need to abide by that country's laws. but those countries or individuals, groups that do not care about international law understand that if you take hurt or kill an American citizen, you should begin to count your life in days, hours, and minutes because the blue passport means American protection and power for every citizen. You take our citizens, you will pay the ultimate price without delay and without any mercy. domestically, this is a moment of healing. Our wounds and division have scarred our nation.

They haven't broken us, but they've scarred us. To those who have felt forgotten, I want you to know today I see you. To those who have felt silenced, I hear you. And to those who have lost faith in the promise of America, I pledge to you to do everything in my power to restore it. We're not a country defined by the bitterness of the past, but by the possibilities of the future. Together we will renew the spirit of our nation. Together we will rekindle the flame of freedom that has always guided us.

Today, we need to remember who we are. We are the heirs of pioneers and builders and dreamers. We're a nation of liberty and opportunity, of faith and courage. This is your country. Its future is in your hands. It's not the government. But you, the workers, the dreamers, the parents, the patriots, you are the engine of this nation.

So, as Lincoln said, let us heal the wounds of this division. With the balm of unity, let's speak to one another with respect, debate with civility and strive together for the common good. The challenges before us are great, but so is our resolve. The promise of America is alive and our best days are yet to come. Together, we will and can build a nation that is stronger, freer, and more prosperous than ever before. We just need to rise above our differences and unite in a common purpose. Let us be a government that works for the people, not against them.

Let's be a nation that inspires the world, not through dominance, but through our example. The work ahead isn't going to be easy, but nothing worth it. Ever is. Together, we're going to reclaim the promise of America, not just for ourselves, but also for our children and their children and their children's children.

That is a heap. That is literally one of the ugliest buildings I've ever seen in my entire life. You know, it's amazing is the river is completely frozen. Yeah. The Potomac is at a dead stop completely frozen. It's not that cold. I just want you to know.

I mean, it's cold. It's pretty cold. But if you're from anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon line, you're like, what a wuss. I mean, you're standing outside for hours and hours and hours. Everyone who came here knew they were going to. Yeah. So, and here's another thing. Everybody kept saying, the last time this happened was with Ronald Reagan in 1984,

1985. Yeah, the last time that they went inside was 1985. You know, the only time they went and held it outdoors prior to that was 1981? I didn't know that. Yeah, it was always inside the rotunda. And Reagan had it moved or somebody had it moved to the steps of the Capitol outside so more people could come. The very next time, they were like, you know, it's a little chilly. It is chilly.

Yeah. This is not because it's chilly. I've seen things I've never seen before. In fact, I was talking to some guys that are in the military, and we saw the motorcade a couple of times last night. He's not in the beast yet, but he is traveling around in black U.S. government armored vehicles, and they all have an electronic device up on top of the vehicles

that military people say they've only seen in Iraq, and it stops all drones. it just disables everything electronic all around. You, so you mentioned this the other day, you think it's security concerns the reason. Absolutely it is. Absolutely.

That makes a lot of sense. Yeah, it's not like people are coming and they're like, oh my gosh, it's, it's, it's 28 degrees. I didn't see that coming.

Right. The river is frozen. What crossed my mind was New Year's Eve. Yeah. Like there's like all these people, they stand out there for like 12 straight hours. I know, I know.

And it's crazy. ball drop and it's everybody knows. Everybody knows. But I will say like there is from real danger people might not be ready, right? And you're an older person, you come in from a southern state, you're not used to that cold. You stand outside for 12 hours. I say

let them die. You're an airplane in the movie right now? I say let them crash. Yeah, I think the security is all about the president and it is not domestic. It is it's foreign that they're worried about. And the Secret Service just

And you know, Chris, I said something about the Capitol earlier and I said it just to make sure that everybody was listening. I was wondering.

That's what that was? Yeah, that's what it was. I was just making sure, actually, correction here on the outdoor inauguration. Yes, Ronald Reagan did move the inauguration, and he did it in a populist direction. He's the first one to move it to the west side of the Capitol, facing the National Mall with that big, beautiful shot.

So you've seen outdoor inaugurations before. You can see the old photograph of Lincoln's second inaugural, where the booth is in the crowd, as Calvin Coolidge, but it was always facing East Capitol. It was even harder to get a ticket back then. Is the East Capitol indoors? Shut up. Shut up.

Yes. Yes. An iron dome. An iron dome. Yeah, I should have. I mean, we were just talking about a William Henry Harrison is the guy who caught cold and died 30 days. Because didn't he speak for like two hours? He just kept going on and on and on.

And they're like, oh, I wish he would die. And 31 days later, he died. And his doctors were called incompetent for that. And I think the responsibility really was his, quite honestly. Well, it doesn't really have anything to do with cold, right? That's a, that's a not true. Shut up, Stu. Are you a doctor?

Well, you know, if his hair was wet. It's when it's cold indoors, you can get it that way. I think like when he was on the other side of the Capitol. In the dome. All right. So, Chris, how are things? What are you expecting today? What has the weekend been like for you?

What have you seen and witnessed? The weekends, I mean, people still descendant on. Washington, D.C. Even though so much has been canceled to the public events, non-refundable four nights and hotels in D.C. have not been canceled. So a lot of people decided to instead pack out the bars and restaurants, go to these brunches, go to the concerts. And it's been such an incredible shift in the vibe from 2017 when we were told that nothing was, I mean, now you've got designer brands advertising that they're dressing the second late. Unbelievable, isn't it? Snoop Dog performing at these events.

And it is, the whole thing has changed. And actually, for the first time, and my first inauguration I attended in person, also very cold, was George W. Bush's second inaugural. And the big difference here is how hard it's been to get a ticket to anything. D.C. thrives off of free tickets. People at D.C. don't like, they spend your money on a million programs. Lord knows not spending their money to get in the party.

This year they can't. Because Silicon Valley, corporate America, everyone's ponied up, $200 million. raised for a $50 million event that's been canceled, all of those tickets have evaporated. They've gone away and they've gone to people who've paid for them, which, you know, it's a wonderful thing to have a sold out event. But it is tough for us, us guys here in D.C. Who just like a free beer. Right. I have to, I have to tell you, the change is absolutely remarkable.

I attended the YouTube. I don't even know what they call it, Get Together. There was about 30 YouTubers that were influencers that were invited. And I'm standing there and the CEO of YouTube comes up. Very nice guy. But he tells me about, you don't know how hard it's been to hold the line. You know, they're at YouTube to keep things going. And you guys are really important. I thought to myself, wow, everything has changed.

I'm hearing the president of YouTube tell me about how hard it was. to hold the line on freedom of speech. I didn't expect that one coming, and I don't think anybody in the room expected to be sitting in the room with YouTube, I don't know, and hearing praise just six months ago. But here we are. And it's wonderful. In 2017, I went to a party with Facebook.

We threw with the Daily Collar for the inauguration, and it was a grim, even though it was a great success as far as any kind of event goes, it was a grim atmosphere for the employees and it was the last thing that they did with conservatives for years and years after. Oh, yeah. Because of the revolt. And one of the things that Trump will hopefully be able to accomplish,

and Bill Barr gave a hint of this at the end of Trump's first term, which is penalizing and going after companies that discriminate against white men, as of calling that racial discrimination, no need to change any laws. These things are already on the books. And a lot of these CEOs, they're just, they're risk-averse. So when they're faced with an angry HR department run by

woke college graduates, they just kind of run away. This sort of thing, this sort of action will give them the legal tools to say no. And they don't have to be the bad guy. They can say it's not my fault. And I don't think they would have wanted to say no

a few years ago, but they now see that they are running, they're running with a pack of revolutionaries. They're not afraid of Donald Trump as much as they're afraid of their own employees and what those employees can do to their companies. And they're trying to, you know,

run for cover as much as they possibly can. But again, you know, I really don't think that, uh, I think people like Mark Zuckerberg, I hate to say this, but I, I think he's a coward. And, uh, he's using the cover of Elon Musk and others to go, hey, hey, the world's changing. The world's changing.

He's got to get away from these revolutionaries that are in, uh, his company. But they're the ones who actually run it. And I think they're, I think they're afraid. He wants to be liked. I mean, that's his whole thing. thing. That's Facebook's whole thing. He wants to be liked. And even during the darkest days of Facebook censorship, he was always trying to get up ahead and blame other people for it. So he set up the whole outside fact checkers department. So he said, unlike early Twitter, I'm not going to

do the fact checking. It's not my fault. Someone else did it. Some nonprofit funded in Europe is fact checking American articles at the blaze and trying to shut them down for printing entirely true things. And he's kind of maybe like a techno-libertarian futurist in a way. He's not ideological. like Jeff Bezos might be. He's someone who's just trying to thread that needle. And because of that, and the cowardice with it, he's ended up making everyone upset. Yeah.

So let's just talk just for 30 seconds about TikTok. TikTok is the president has now said a delay on the implementation of a law that was passed by Congress. I don't know how you do that through executive order, but he's delaying it. How do you feel about TikTok? I mean, I think that TikTok is generally brain rot, and I would love those sorts of things to not be allowed in general.

But what the law of the Congress passed is so narrow, it just says, hey, you can have TikTok. It just can't be controlled by the Chinese military. And that seems like a pretty basic thing. And so many people have been obfuscating than that. But at the same time, Donald Trump got more impressions on TikTok with his videos and the things he put out than on any other social media platform. It's something that he said, all right, fine, it's a weapon against the American people.

It's spying on them. All of big tech is spying on the American people and weaponized against them. as we've learned. He's going to try, and I suspect he'll try to thread the needle on doing the art of the deal here where he gets someone to buy TikTok to take his hands off it. He says, look, I've preserved TikTok, I've allowed it, but you have to force that sale. Congress and Supreme Court have backed it. So let's turn to what happened just this morning. I mean, Joe Biden, even if he knows he's still president of the United States and knows what the name of shoes are, it would surprise me

but again in just shocking news he pardoned everybody part of January 6 all of the police officers that testified he pardoned Fauci

I mean everyone just this morning I say involved in January 6 you mean the January 6 committee yeah the committee yeah nobody nobody was actually in parading all those grand you know grandparents and all those old ladies, they should rot in jail. But anybody that was on the

committee. And like their aides. Yes, everybody. He went deep on this. Again, there's no real reason to believe something like this could even hold up. I don't think it holds up to scrutiny. I don't think you can just pardon people for crimes. Yeah, I think you can. I think the president can. There's real questions on that. I mean, I know the Brookings Institution wrote back and when they were, you know, again, when they were talking about Trump doing it for his family, all these places came out and said, actually, you can't do it like that. I don't know. He did it for Hunter. He's done it for everything. I know, but I don't think that's, I don't think those are legal.

That would be fantastic if that's true. I think the easiest thing to do is to call all those people back in front of Congress. Exactly. Here's what you. They can't plead the fifth. Yes. You can't be implicated. Investigate. I'm not really interested in putting some of these people, some of these people obviously deserve to go to prison. But that's not the main goal here. The main goal here is to find the truth that the American people know it. There's no more pleading the fifth if you've got a blanket pardon. So get your butt in front of Congress or you will be arrested because the last administration set the precedent that if you defy Congress, you are under arrest and going to

prison, put them out in front of these, in front of the committees and get to the bottom of it. Yep. And I wonder how well that would go. All right, we're going to, we're going to continue. You're going to stick around, be with us for the broadcast a little later. I want to talk about the executive orders that are coming through right now that we're beginning to know. He's going to sign kind of an omnibus of executive orders. Up to 200 executive orders are happening today. That is an extraordinary

number of executive orders. I do not like executive orders being the way of the way of governing, but he's mainly undoing everything that has been done to this country by Joe Biden. That makes me feel a little bit better about it. Because you could go back and find clips of

both of us certainly saying how bad executive orders are. They are. And they are. I don't like, that's not our system of government. This can't, this, they, all this stuff cannot stand just through executive order. Or if, God forbid, we lose the next term, this president will just, the next president will just reverse all of those orders. You cannot run a country like this. I do feel like it would be worth pursuing some of these changes in, with Congress. But when, when a bunch of really egregious things happen in this previous administration, the only way to quickly reverse the damage is to do it by executive order. And if it was put in by executive order, you can do it that way. When it's a law,

you have to go through Congress. So that's a different story. But most of the stuff isn't, these aren't laws. These are just terrible things that Biden's done. Right. And so I'm excited. It is going to be quite an action-pack day. He's signing up to 200 executive orders today. Not usually a fan of executive orders, but a lot of these are just reversing the executive orders that Joe Biden did.

And we're also going to get into all of the other executive orders that Joe Biden did just this morning where he pardoned for future crimes. Anthony Fauci, all of the members of the January 6th committee, even the police officers who we have proof because of the work of the blaze did that they were lying under oath nobody can be prosecuted now according to joe biden and his pardons whether that stands or not we'll

find out but also we have people and protesters that are here in the the capital it's not like it was a few years ago eight years ago there were half a million people that were protesting Now it's really just the, I don't know, one-legged lesbians that are out. I mean, it's pathetic. It's really, it's kind of sad. It's kind of sad. You're like, they're all my bone, really. They can protest.

Look how cute they are out there. But also some real radical revolutionaries are in town. And we're going to watch them. That makes you even feel old. Imagine how I feel. I know. So you're going out, and now I'm kind of glad we're sending you into the danger zone after that comment. But you're going out and you're going to be mixed in with the protesters today. Have you been here this weekend and been kind of watching them a little bit?

Yeah. And we were talking about this before. I mean, it is certainly a stark difference from 2016 and 2017. I mean, because everyone was so shocked. I mean, I was shocked when Trump won, right? And so that's why there was that initial outburst. And actually, that's what got me to go into journalism full time because, like, I remember on election, I'd seeing protests from students.

California after the results were called since it wasn't too late for them. And just realizing in that moment that we were about to enter like a whole new set of craziness. And then of course, you know, then 2020 happened, which, you know, blew everything off its doors. And so I will say I'm a little bit shocked at how low energy the street resistance has been since the election. I was expecting a little bit more like on election night and nothing happened. I'm not expecting too much crazy. again like 2017 today because it is so cold i mean it's yeah it feels like 10 degrees outside but i i think once you know like with the executive orders with with the border and immigration and then the

legislation that will come after that i think that's kind of kind of reincentivized people to get back out there because we just saw this i mean even just like last week over in a baker's field in california where there's reports of ice raids and a lot of you know immigration pro-immigration protesters showed up and just started protesting it didn't get you know violent anything, but it kind of shows that, you know, now you put that on a national, you know, scale where it's front and center. Trump is going to be, you know, sounding the horn on that again and again, he's going to hit that over and over. I think people are going to start to get back out into the streets again. And I'll be sure to be there for what happens. Good for you. So we don't

have to be. You're going to be out there. Isn't it surprising, too, that, you know, was the women's March in 2017. They added all the other 93 genders. It's now the People's March. Yeah, yeah. same organization. Yeah. And there's fewer people. And some non-people, people who, you know, describe themselves as non-people. It's sad.

And now, like, no one's out there. And I think they've already put the litter boxes out for, you know, that's the nice thing about these protests. They get, you know, they get a permit. Usually you have to have, you know, porta-potties, but they just put a box with litter, you know, litter box in there. And then they can scratch and poop right there in the little box.

It's very nice for them. The scratching posts are a nice stuff as well. Yes, yes, yes. So what do you think? think is how much of this is real? How much of this is people that are that are like, you know what, I've seen the light. I'm not going to go protest. And how much is I'm going to keep my powder dry and we're planning and plotting? I think it's still very much in the planning and plotting stage because, I mean, that's one of the, that's one of the kind of the big polls that they're

kind of dancing around in terms of what they're going to be out there for is, is immigration. I mean, there's a, you know, refugees are welcome here, you know, all, all of that. And so I think once then the media hype around that where, you know, they're going to try to have their own narratives. All these kids are being taken from their parents that don't look like a parent, but they look more like they're selling those kids into sex slavery. I understand that's coming. Yeah, so I think that's going to kind of reinvigorate people.

I mean, I think that's kind of like kind of the word for today is, for at least for the leftist side, is that they're just kind of waiting and seeing what actually, because I think, I think some of them are hoping that, oh, well, Trump didn't follow through the first time, so he's not going to follow through the second time. But, I mean, a lot has obviously changed. I mean, the guy got shot at for Pete's sake. Oh, yeah. So I don't think, I don't think on the big stuff, because also just because, I mean, he can't,

he can't, he can't, Republicans, the GOP as a whole, they can't fan. on this issue. This was, I mean, the fact that the border and immigration was essentially number two behind the economy, which the economy was affected by the out of control immigration and border. I mean, that is a big, that is a big deal. And the fact that we saw Latino heavy districts in big cities and states like Pennsylvania go towards Trump. I mean, this is a layup. This is a layup for the Republican Party here in Washington. So let's hopefully they take that, right? I will tell you, the people I talked to in the last couple of days, they're all cautiously optimistic. Anybody who has spoken to the president in the last few weeks, and I would agree with this over the last few months.

But anybody who is, as he is getting ready to go into the White House, they say he is laser-focused, and he is going to complete this mission. and top priority is to secure the nation and its borders. Yeah, and so I think, so once that starts to happen, I think then we're going to see that, because there's precedent with the first Trump administration. I mean, in the Pacific Northwest, in 2020, the ICE facility, even though this was a, even though it was mainly a local police thing,

they would target the ICE facility there just because it trumps ice. And in Washington, they had that Antifa guy try to fire, bomb and try to set on fire the ice station there. So there is there is like a serious potential for things to get out of out of control from the left. Have you ever seen anything changed this much? I mean the polling is 80% of the American people are saying send back to port. Have you seen the latest polls? Yeah. They came out this weekend. It's I mean, it's stunning. It has moved a lot. A lot. Whether that holds is interesting. I mean, you do see, you know, there is a vibe part of this, right? And that's, I think, what makes

today feel really good. Like, the vibes feel good. And I feel like it's been a long time since the vibes felt, you know, good. I don't even think, I don't think the Trump, maybe since 9-11. That was just saying? You were the one boring the plane at low-ed. You were the one that just said, really, 9-11, the vibes were good, huh, Stu? I said it hasn't been a long time since the vibes were good. Even in the first Trump term, like, it had a, you had a, different vibe, right? It was like, ah, gosh, things are really, really bad and we need to change and we need to make America great again. And of course, there's a positive strain in that as well. Here, though, it feels different. It feels like, whoa, this is really happening. Something's really

changing today. Oh, there's, yeah, I think we're on, I was talking to Patrick Bet David last night. And I think that guy really gets it. And we were standing there in a room full of people that were, you know, just sucking up to those who are suddenly on their side. And we're just standing there going, these people are not going to have any idea what hit them. I mean, really? You're believing that these people are now suddenly, oh, my gosh, I have been such an admirer of yours for so long. And thank goodness Trump's in and you're like, you are such a fraud and phony. I can't take it.

But it's good that that happens. It just is, as long as it, is a rattlesnake a good pet? Yes. As long as you always remember, it's a rattlesnake. As long as we understand YouTube and Facebook and all of these people that are now coming on board are rattlesnakes that have bit us several times before, treat them like a rattlesnake. You are great. You're going to stay in that little aquarium. Whenever I'm around, I'm putting you inside of that aquarium.

We can knock on the glass and say. say hi to each other, but I know who you are. And Patrick and I were just talking about how there is real change coming. Beyond what you think is happening with Donald Trump, there is, we are at a place where it's almost like a change of an epic. It is, it's a, it's, we're entering a new time period, I really believe. and that that encompasses not only politics but AI and everything else that goes with it. Julio, who are the people that are here today?

Who's really actually funding this and running all of this stuff? Well, so we have, I mean, it's kind of, it's always usually the same actors, right? I mean, we have the answer coalition, Code Pink has been out and about the Democratic Socialists of America. I mean, it is like the left machine because that has been in place since, 2020 because I mean obviously they've had that infrastructure for a long time and they had their you know their street their their their their their street community organizers Um, but 2020 really saw the money really start to flow into into that because it was the it was the thing to do from all different sectors of the country Um, and so even though yeah the riots stopped they never that infrastructure stayed in place and we kind of saw that get reinvict uh you know kind of get restarted uh after October 7th um

And although I've noticed that even before the ceasefire came into agreement for months, that that movement had really slowed down a lot. Maybe just because their popularity did not increase, which is surprise, surprise, you block people going to the airport with, you know, their traffic. You're not going to make any friends, although that's the point. That's why they're doing that. So I think the main thing that is going to get these people to do radical things beyond just street protesting. is going to be the issue of immigration. And that's why it's going to be such a, it's going to be an uphill battle on certain areas

just because, like, yeah, you're right. You know, the polling is fine right now. But for better for worse, Americans don't really have a stomach to do what's necessary. Because even with the action to take against the Mexican cartels, I mean, we've been doing the law enforcement approach for decades. Oh, I think that's going to change. Right. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Mm-hmm. That law enforcement approach is, not working. So something has to change. And it seems the Trump administration says, all right, we're going to use the military. There'll be a lot of people who would be like, whoa, wait a minute. What does this mean? And so, but... The war on drugs. Right. It's actually going to heat up and be, and look like a war. Right. And so it just depends whether the majority of the American people are going to be able to stomach that. I kind of have some doubts about it just because of stuff that I've seen, stuff that I know about what happens in Mexico, unfortunately. But this

I mean, he's not waiting for the parade or anything. He's signing many of them right after he takes the oath of office. He's going to end Catch and Reliefs today. He's going to pause all offshore wind leases, terminate the electric vehicles mandate, abolish the Green New Deal, withdraw again from the Paris Climate Accord, take several major steps to assert presidential control over the federal bureaucracy. It is, it's going to be quite a day. And he is calling this shock and awe.

A day of shock at awe. The citizenship, Earthright citizenship attempt, he's going to go after this. I mean, there's going to be a lot of the stuff that gets challenged, right? Yeah. Oh, yeah. That type of stuff's going to get challenged.

I hope, though, we also see a pushback as to what Biden is doing here in the last days. This can't just be like, ah, thank God he's gone. The things he's done while in office, we should forget about. I mean, I think the, just trying to wave with your hand, a constitutional amendment into the air is something that is one of the most egregious things ever

before rights amendment that passed too. No, it didn't. No, yeah, it did. It didn't. I listened to, no, I listened to this White House and Joe Biden, it passed. It didn't pass. It's part of law now. And it's like, we've had a lot of corrupt presidents. People have done illegal things. We're sitting right across the

river from the Watergate Hotel as we speak. But like, this is a direct challenge to our system of government. The president of the United States by edict is trying to say a constitutional amendment just exists when it doesn't. That is. It's crazy. And Glenn, if you really believed Donald Trump was Hitler,

if you really believe Donald Trump was going to become a dictator, why would you mysteriously wave into reality 25 new powers that the president never had before last week right before he comes into office? Obviously, they don't actually believe that, or they wouldn't be doing this. But this, something has to be done, by the way, of what? Joe Biden's parting shots. Like, somebody has to do something about this. I think Donald Trump might just be the guy.

I think he's going to be. I think he's going to be. He is going to close the border today, all illegal aliens. He is going to reinstate catch and release in Mexico. Task force for the protection of Homeland Security with officers from the FBI, ICE, CEA, and other agencies to fully eradicate the presence of Clinton, criminal cartels. Lots coming today.

You noticed it? Yeah, I have. And the other thing I noticed was, you know, coming in, like, on Saturday, they were dismantling a lot of security fencing around the Capitol Mall area. And a lot of people are kind of just kind of wandering around, wondering, wondering, well, what do we do? What's going on? But I haven't heard a single complaint from anybody who flew in from some part of the

country and wanted to watch it. You know, they're all kind of wondering, what are we going to do? But I haven't seen, I haven't heard anybody say anything, but if this is security, I am happy. Oh, that's absolutely been the main perspective that I heard everyone talking about. They're like, let's just protect the man. Yeah. And also protect the people. And this is not, I, at least I don't think, Jason, you would know better than I would.

But from the signs of the kind of security that I'm seeing being implemented, this is not domestic terror they're worried about. This is international terror. From the moment we started seeing video of the president's motorcade with electronic devices on top of the vehicles. I've seen those before, but Glenn, only in war zones. Yeah. I've never seen that just rolling around American cities before. And that's the kind of equipment that you're using to disrupt IED signals. So they don't remote detonate.

Or drones. Or drones. Or drones. And who has that capability? not your average, you know. Well, space aliens. Space aliens have it. Obviously space aliens.

Yeah, space aliens have that. They're worried about a space alien invasion at some point today, obviously. But it is, to me, it's very clear that one of two things happen. Now, I don't want to say, who told me this, I will just say it came from cabinet level to me. but I got word last night that it's not only the threats that they have internationally, but also the fact that the Secret Service appeared to be wildly unprepared to secure the president today that made them, made the incoming administration say, enough, enough. We're moving it inside. Okay. And that is infuriating. Yes, it is. Because the

Biden administration has known for four years that there was a credible Iranian threat. Four years. And it seemed like they refused to do anything to beef up his security once the president declared he was running and once he was running away in the polls. It seemed like they were just, I don't know what they were doing. But we've known about this threat for a long time. Yes, it is a credible threat. Yes, they have said they wanted to do something ever since the Trump administration took out Kassim Soleimani of the IRGC. This is known. This does not surprise me that the income now Trump is he's coming in.

His people are saying, guys, can we for once, he's been to target twice now for assassination? Can we for once take this seriously? I'm also very concerned. There's one place that was very tense in 2016. and the Secret Service was begging him, please, please, please don't do this. And I think he'll do it again today. And that is in the middle of the parade,

he is going to say, let me out of the car. Yeah, yeah. And he's going to walk with Melania and maybe the family. And I pray that doesn't happen. He does not, he likes to project strength without fear. and I know because he told me what was going through his mind when he was shot or shot at and shot and hit, when he went down on the stage, all he could think of was this is pathetic, get up. You're not afraid.

You're not somebody who coweres. And you can hear that in the audio. If you would go back and listen to it, you can hear him say, get out. I want to get up. I want to get up. Come on. Let me put my shoes on. I got to get up.

He was embarrassed by that. He likes to project who he really is. I mean, that's not something you fake. That is who he is. He is not afraid of things. anytime. Another's going to stop. Nobody's no, there will be no one that's in the car on the way to the grocery store that hear the news. Glenn Beck's been shot and they'll be like, I'm still going to the grocery store. With him, it's a little different. Yeah, I am, I mean, it's interesting to see a president now how he is acting in this moment versus what we've seen from the Biden administration. He was an absentee landlord. It felt like through four years. Did you see the, at the Capital One Center yesterday? the president came down in the middle of the crowd, walk through the people.

And it felt like this is the people's president. Like we finally have a people's president back in the White House. It's a nightmare for security. But it was just amazing to actually see that. He expects people to do their job. You know what I mean? And he he trusts yet verifies with the Secret Service. I mean, he's hired an outside.

security firm. What's the name of that firm? Do you know? No, I can look that up in a second. Yeah, hang on just. Mark, what's the name of that firm? Arcus. And he has hired an outside firm, and they are on top of it. I mean, I don't know if you heard this because I was in traffic a couple of times when the motorcade was going by. And there were helicopters.

right up above that motorcade. I mean, I've never seen security like this before for a president. In Washington, D.C., normally the motorcade, they just stopped cross streets, and the motorcade goes by. This time, it was stopped for a long time before you saw any blue and red lights. And then you saw them, and you heard the helicopters first, and there was at least two helicopters over his motorcade. Yeah.

And it's going to be needed, especially, I mean, we're talking today. we're talking 200-plus-ish executive orders, many of them targeting not only things like cartels, terrorist organizations, but also the deep state. And on top of that, maybe one of the largest deportation operations, what, since Bill Clinton, I guess? He's going to be mighty unpopular with all of free, with all of the right people in my book. You know what I mean? All the people that should be afraid are going to be afraid and try to make him afraid. And I have to tell you, they, and this is not going to happen. This is just not going to happen.

But if they ever really try to take him out and take him out, I just think of the line from Star Wars, go ahead, you will make me stronger than you can imagine. You know, I don't remember what that exact line was, but strike me down and I'll be stronger. and that's true. I mean, J.D. Vance would be the LBJ and get, he would reverse all that great society, all that FDR stuff. The American people would be united on this is going to stop right now. And so the worst thing they could possibly do is kill him,

but that's not going to stop some people from trying, unfortunately. Which is essentially what they did to him after that first assassination attempt. Look how powerful that image became. Are you, do you think he wins without the assassination attempt? Not sure. Don't think so. Maybe. Maybe, but I don't think so.

I think they could have gone either way, crazily enough. Well, remember, that's when Elon Musk got in. Yep. It was just a few minutes after the assassination, he was like, that's my guy. My gut tells me he still wins, but I'm certainly less sure of it. I mean, I think he brought a lot of people on board because of what happened there. Even insane liberals were going on cable news and saying, okay, now that's pretty awesome. Zuckerberg.

Because look, he was a guy who everybody said that. And they're still saying it about him. He only cares, you know, about his personal wealth and his fame. You don't do that. You know, if it's all about money and fame, you don't do that. He knew and Americans knew that's a guy who is brave. We haven't seen courage in a very long time just for people to stand up and go, okay, that's a dude in a dress, man.

People don't have the courage to say that. This guy took a bullet. He's bleeding from it. And he stands up and looks right, exposes himself and says, fight, fight, fight. That was a moment of courage. Incredible. that inspired the world. Should make everybody proud watching this today,

even if you don't like him. The fact that that is the way our country freaking responds, you try to shoot somebody, we're going to put him back in office, and he's going to sign a million executive orders, and he's going to show that we don't get intimidated by that crap. Right. Like, that is, I mean, that's American.

It really is. It's legitimately inspiring. I mean, and I feel like, I just feel like if you get shot on stage, you automatically get the presidency. If you're at a rally, you're running for president, you get shot on state, you should win. What is amazing is we didn't know that to be true until Election Day, where in any other race, that would have been the winning moment. Yeah. I mean, it's true. And we all talk about, you know, this resounding victory for Trump. And that, you know, I can understand it. There are seven states. He won all seven swing states.

But he needed, he needed to win one of those three blue wall states. The biggest blowout of those. three states was two points. That's how close we were to freaking Kamala Harris in office today instead of Donald Trump. Which makes you, you know, look at California. I talked to a lot of people from California last night who are here, you know, I felt bad for him. I have to go to California, from California to Washington, D.C. I'm sorry. There is other non-prisoned territory in the United States. But, you know, I talked to them about, you know, how is the state fairing? What are they doing? And they all said to me the same thing. If they don't wake up this time, they're not going to.

They're not going to. And it was split half and half from the people that I talk to that live in California, whose houses didn't burn down, but all of their friends and neighbors' houses burned down. They still said, not sure. I'm not sure how this is going to shake out. Yeah. That's a little terrifying. All right.

and worried about the deep state and the Secret Service and their preparations. Still worried. Yeah, still worried. But it's, I just want to. his hand on the Bible. And, you know, I think you would have to take out the entire capital at this point. But we are not, apparently not worried about a domestic terrorist as much as we are as an international terrorist. In particular, I think, Iran.

And the security on the, on top of the vans and what will be the beast, it'll be interesting to see if they've taken one of the three beasts and put. the same kind of electronic jammer on the top that you're now seeing on all of the other cars that are following the president at least beginning over the weekend. They have electronic jamming

devices and jamming devices for any kind of drone. But we'll see. We'll see. Matthew Peterson is with us now. Hello Matthew. How are you? Great. I'm feeling some of that

All right. Shut up. Go bills. So tell me what you're looking at today, Matthew, that you think is important in this last hour of the Biden administration. I think for all the talk, for all the, you know, consternation,

on the joy of this day, what people need to take with them is this fact, the difference. The difference between 2016 and this moment. And I'm just here to tell you, it is enormous, right? When Donald Trump first walked in and shocked the system, this town was a bubble. It was living in a bubble.

And it was so thick that they couldn't imagine what the MAGA agenda was. No one knew what that was. They didn't think it was a coherent thing. And so, you know, in the latter half of that administration, before I came to Blaze, I was working at Claremont and we had this network of all these really smart constitutionalist conservatives throughout the country, kind of kids who would come and read the books with you for weeks at a time, right? And they were all throughout the administration, these lowered jobs and they were fighting a three or four part war because they all felt like they understood what Trump was about. They understood what Maga was about and now Maha, but they were not in power, right?

And everyone would look to them and they'd move up in the administration because they'd say, get that kid in here who understands what, I don't even understand what he's saying. Like, why is he questioning NATO, right? And they'd all laugh. Like, he's crazy. And then you'd have someone, you know, some staffer would come in and say, no, I think he's asking a legitimate question. So all the work that went into the time from the last administration until now, all these people who understood that agenda and fought for it, these are principled people.

And this weekend, I reconnected with a lot of people on and off record talking to all these people here in this town now. And let me just tell you, they are ready. compared to 2016, this is night and day. They are ready to go with an explosion of executive orders. They understand how the system works and they're ready to go to war. And that we just, we can't discount. It's a world of difference from 2016. I will tell you, I talked to several people this weekend that were in the administration in 2016 and said, it is a world that is very different than when they came in. And I said, how do you mean that just from the way the left is reacting,

etc. And they said, more important than that, Donald Trump was not ready last time. It was confusing. This time, and I'm trying to remember the exact quote. If I can give you an exact quote of somebody who was at a cabinet level last time, said he is, what was it, laser-focused and absolutely determined this time around. He knows what he's doing. He has a very well-thought-out plan and is going to be. executing that. Yes. And the people are there to help him do it. And that is just, I mean, he has the will, right, the political will. He doesn't care about, you know, how it looks. He knows what he wants to do. And to do that, you need a lot of names that people, you know, aren't going to be aware of, right? Staffers who really know how things work. And that's what I saw this weekend is just how many of these people, they keep on popping out of the woodwork, people I've known from the last few years. And you just look at it and say,

that's the perfect person for that job. Someone who actually knows the history and cares about the principles. And those people are now ready to go. So we're here at the American First Policy Institute. That's where we're headquartered. We're right across from the, you see behind me, that's the Kennedy Center. And just to what you're right, if you're watching on the screen, is the Washington and Lincoln Memorial. You see the Capitol behind us. we are right across the street, right across the river, I should say, from Washington, D.C.

And we have been allowed to use their offices. Most people may not have even heard of America First Policy Institute. And once again, the media got it wrong. They said it was all the Heritage Foundation. And Agenda 2025 was going to be. And Trump kept saying, that's not who I'm dealing with. I'm not doing that. And he was telling the truth.

It's not agenda 2025 in the heritage, although I'm sure there's some things that are similar that they may have taken or will work on. But it's this headquarters where the real power, I mean, I think they have 30 people at cabinet level or just below cabinet level that are helping this administration plan and move forward. And I mean, quickly. Yeah, and this is the important thing. Again, there was no agenda, right? I mean, people didn't realize what the MAGA agenda was. And in order for a president to come in and have, you know, implement the will of the people, that's, you need a lot of people who understand it, just like in a business. They have to understand what the mission is.

And what you see with AFPI, what you see with Heritage, all these organizations, what they've done is they kept at it. They learned what that agenda was. They didn't just, you know, lie in their laurels. They built a new movement. And that's what's so gratifying about this moment. That movement is real. It's, it's thick. it's full of people who understand it

and those people are ready to go to work. I think because Donald Trump speaks like a regular human being, he doesn't speak like an intellectual. People dismiss his intellectual prowess. And I have been really impressed over the last three years

in particular. He has changed a great deal. It's almost as if he went to presidential school. And I don't know if that comes from reflection or he had people around him that were saying, okay, here's where you made the mistakes last time. Who was schooling with him? Do you know any of that background?

Who has he surrounded himself or is it just coming from him? So in the beginning, right, you had Trump is sort of against the world. Right. And you had a number of people who, remember he cycled through all those campaign managers. Right. I mean, he was sort of scrambling to find the right talent. Right. And I think what you see now is a number of talented people in orbit, right, that has revolved around him that stayed the same over time. So you have to give, you have to give Susie

Wiles credit for what she did in this campaign. She's been with him for a long time. She's a force to be reckoned with. Oh, yes. Yeah. I mean, a source of stability and a source of sort of, you know, calming strength, I think. And you can have your disagreements with her. Everyone has at one point or another. but she is a force for good and has helped, you know, direct and focus a lot of this energy. You also see, again, a lot of these people who are just, they're not loyal to any one group, right? I mean, a lot of the younger people I'm talking about, these staffers, these people who have grown in the ranks of the last six to eight years, they're loyal to Trump, right, and the MAGA agenda because they understand it. But there was no infrastructure for it. And what you see now with AFPI and many other groups is that infrastructure developed around Trump,

And that in turn, you know, helped him achieve that agenda and be so ready to go in now. And I think, you know, it's just a, it is a sea change. It is a revolutionary moment of people who want to restore Republican governance in this country. And I think what we can't lose sight of, though, is that this is a transitional day. After this day, it's about implementing that mandate that really the people gave to Donald Trump. I want to talk to you a little bit about his executive orders. I'm squeamish on executive orders. I don't like them.

And one reason why I don't like him is we're not a dictatorship. But the second reason is because they can easily be reversed just as his agenda was completely reversed. And Joe Biden's agenda is being completely reversed now with these new executive orders. This has got to stop. We have to do legislation. but he's reversing everything that Joe Biden did and then some. But it's an omnibus package of about 200 executive orders and still more to come today and tomorrow. That's astounding.

What message do you think that that sends to Washington, D.C.? And I'll get your answer here in just a second. So I am worried about the number of people that have embedded and have been embedded now inside of this administration, deep in hiding the different things that they have done to booby trap and to slow this president down. but the speed of what's going to happen today what message do you think they're getting those people who think they're going to survive this time around with Donald Trump? Wait, can you turn him up? Can you hear him? I mean, what's going to happen is justice is coming,

authority, constitutional authority over the administrative state is what we're talking about. And that's where, you know, I think all Americans don't want the executive writing laws. That's what we have Congress for. But the president has executive power over the entire government, right? He should be able to hire and fire. The Constitution gives the president executive authority with Congress, as we know,

it separates out that authority. He says you can only pass laws about these sorts of things. But the president has that executive authority because what will happen today is Trump will take an oath to the Constitution. and by taking that oath, he then is in charge, right, of that entire administrative state. But the problem is we're not talking about the normal bureaucracy and departments. We're talking about a fourth branch of government that has run amok. So when he comes out with these executive orders today, it's sending a strong and clear message that, guess what, guys, the president is now going to reign this in.

And you will have some authority over you from someone who actually represents the people. Because as we know, the entire problem, right? No, this is the great thing about what's happening today. No Republican president has been able to roll this thing back for the last 100 years since, as you point out, Woodrow Wilson and others created it. And now we have the best chance we've seen in a century to start rolling it back. And that starts with a flurry of Eos of executive orders where the president says, nope, we're not doing this anymore. Well, there's no way it's not a fourth branch of government, which is unconstitutional. if it is part of the administrative branch and the president is not in control of it.

If the president can't fire people, then he's not actually their employer or boss. Yes. And if the president is not their employer or boss, then they are the boss of us. Yes, exactly right. Because Congress will say the president can't fire. Well, neither can Congress. So who do these people work for? Yes.

You know, they work for the unions. and they work for themselves. And they're over the, that becomes, that state becomes more powerful than the other three branches combined. Yes. And this is, this is something that obviously you've spoken about for years. We're here at this turning point.

And that's why we are going to the focus, the entire focus of the political division of Blaze News and Blaze News tonight is going to be focused on this mandate and its implementation. Because now we have to hold everyone in going to, government accountable, right, to that mandate that the people have given them. And now we have to follow the only game in town that matters politically, which is not Republican versus Democrat, but whether or not we can restore the promise of Republican government in the 21st century. And that's what I think all of our audience cares about, everyone listening cares about,

whether you're Republican Democrat, these people need to work for you. So how does D.C. work? Is Trump going to be able to rein this in? We got to follow it. We got to explore it. You know how many people who are even, you know, fancy people with elite degrees? They don't understand how this works. No, it's opaque. No one understands who actually rules us because of what we're talking about. I will tell you, I was talking to some people that were cabinet level yesterday. And then I talked to some people that are going into the administration and they said,

one minute after the president takes his hand off the Bible, we're sworn in. And I mean, imagine the number of people from justice to, you know, urban development, to throughout the entire thing, military. The amount of change that comes in a five-minute period, it's not just one guy. It is thousands of people. Yes. And that happens in a five-minute period. minute period today. It is awesome to see the transfer of power like this. Because it's not just a president. It's everybody. Yes. All the leadership. Yes. And now it's a mighty task to implement

that agenda throughout all these thousands of people in this bureaucracy. Yeah. Matthew, thanks so much. And you're going to be sticking around, I believe. He just took them off of death row. To be clear, his family partons happened today, not yesterday.

No, I meant the other murderers. Yeah, the other rapists and murderers. Yeah, his family was pardoned for any kind of past crimes just a few minutes ago. It was just released to the press. One of the last things he did before he left the Oval Office is go all the way down. And pardon every member of his family, including the grandchildren, except for, I think Navy was left out of that too. Yeah, we can go right after Navy.

We go after Navy. Incredible. And think about even, you know, this transformational moment is, you know, is really profound. But, you know, four years ago, Trump obviously is not at the inauguration. He doesn't attend it. But separate from that, four years ago, almost no one attended it. There was no one there at all. And those who were there were outdoors wearing masks.

that was where we were just four years ago. It feels like another world. And thank God it does. We've come a long way in a very positive direction. At least that's going to start today.
