The Glenn Beck Program - How to Explain Trump's Tariff & Ukraine 'Chaos' to Your Friends | 3/10/25

Episode Date: March 10, 2025

Glenn starts the show by discussing the unrest that is going on in Syria as Bashar al-Assad was overthrown, causing an all-out war between Assad loyalists and the new regime. Glenn lays out the histor...ical context that's at play and why the only side he cares about is the Christians who are losing their lives. Glenn also explains how Woodrow Wilson has his fingerprints on all this turmoil. Pat Gray joins Glenn and Stu to discuss Democrat Texas Rep. Al Green's reaction to being kicked out of Trump's speech to Congress and his censure, Democrats claiming racism over Trump's immigration policies, and Trump's hopeful plans to get rid of the Department of Education. Glenn argues that there's a method to the madness regarding Trump's tariff strategy. Many high-ranking ActBlue executives are reportedly jumping ship as the organization continues to be exposed. Glenn lays out how President Trump's actions are based on reality as he attempts to enact the mandate he was given. Glenn and Stu discuss Trump's negotiation skills and why you have to judge the outcome, not the optics. Glenn and Stu discuss AI and social media. Glenn takes calls from listeners on how they use AI in their daily lives.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Moment here in just a second. So you can follow that and maybe get involved in helping. Also, there is a ton of stuff going on with Donald Trump, the TSA. I can't wait to tell you about that nightmare. Also, people are upset about his, you know, tariffs and the way he's treating these loyal, loyal people in the government.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Okay, well, let's talk about that. I'll try to explain this in a way that you can explain it to your friends who don't understand what he's doing. We'll give you that. We begin in 60 seconds. Stand by. All right, you're out fishing on the side of the lake with your grandkids. Beautiful early summer day. Birds are singing in the tree.

Okay, here's what we know about the loyalists and what's going on in Syria. There are still a lot of Assad loyalist in the traditional strongholds within the country.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Saad's been overthrown. He was overthrown by some people that are not really actually our good friend. In fact, the guy who's now saying he's president, he's better known as Al-Juani. He went to join al-Qaeda during the Iraq war. He's buddies with Zirqawi, Al-Zirqi, the Iraqi, or I'm sorry, the al-Qaeda leader in Iraq. He led the al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria during the Syrian Civil War. He's not credible. He's a terrorist.
Starting point is 00:05:25 Okay. So now we have that out of light. One more thing. Saddam Assad was a really bad guy. Wait a minute, Glenn, there's got to be one of the two. I just live in this world of black and white. There's no third option. No, there is.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Both of them suck. Kind of like Zelensky and Putin. Which one do you love? I don't love either of them. But you have to. You have to pick one of the two. Now they both suck. All right.
Starting point is 00:05:57 So here's the thing. The Assad in his family, they were al-A-white. They were minority, traditional Assad loyalists, all of them. But they're not real die-hards. And there are Christians living in these areas as well. The terror group that now runs the country is moving into those areas, and they're clashing with the loyalists.
Starting point is 00:06:22 The people getting caught in the middle are Christians. Okay. Now, I'm sure that, you know, the killing is more, you know, random. You know, they hate Christians and anybody else that doesn't agree with them. They're forcibly meant to convert. What? Converter die. Kind of an old story in the Middle East. And I'm mentioning the loyalists here and the connection to Assad in the past to show you that it's more complicated than some of the social media posts that came out this weekend, but it's still a very big problem. But the presence of the remaining loyalists doesn't take away from the
Starting point is 00:07:01 civilian deaths because they're just slaughter. these people. They're just slaughtering up. Okay. Many are, if not all, are minority groups like Aloites and Christians. But, you know, this is the thing you do. I guess if you're a Muslim Islamist, you know, you're once with Al-Qaeda. I kind of think you're always with Al-Qaeda. And this is the way they did it. They persecuted the Christians during this Syrian civil war. And, you know, now they're saying, we're so inclusive. No, no, no, we'll cut anybody's head off. All right, okay, that's accurate.
Starting point is 00:07:38 There you go. And whenever this happens, bad people gain power and Christians lose their heads. They were al-Qaeda's affiliate in Syria. So no matter what they say to the international public, you know, we're all for inclusion. New future, diversity, blah, blah, blah. Do you really think the former leader of the Syrian al-Qaeda group is all about diversity? No, no, he's seriously. Oh, he's a big DEI guy.
Starting point is 00:08:18 No, he's a big D-I-E guy. So we know where this is eventually going to lead. And then you add the sectarianism in Syria. It goes back to the fall of the Ottoman Empire. I love all of Ottoman Empire talk. It's so sexy. Oh, you could talk to me about the Ottoman Empire all night. I had one at the end of my grandfather's chair once.
Starting point is 00:08:40 The Left Arab Spring is the latest version of what we're doing. And it's impacting the former Al-Qaeda group that is now running Syria. It's so, you know, HTS. They're the people running. But the Assad family, the Alawites, they would have never gotten any power if it wasn't for the French. Oh, it's a Sykes Pico. Oh, you know what's better than talking about the Ottoman Empire? The Sykes Pico Compact.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Oh, yeah. Oh, that agreement was so sexy. In modern times, here's what we keep doing. And this is what we all have to learn from, all right? We are now living in a progressive era and have for the last hundred years. Let me ask you something. How have things been going in the last hundred years? Well, they were great. We had World War I and then World War II.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Okay, okay, all right. Might want to tell you something. What started World War II again? It was Hitler. I know Hitler was the thing that we all look at and go very bad. And again, he was very bad. But how did he become the guy that everybody in Germany loved? I remember Woodrow Wilson and his giant peace picnic in the back of a train car in France.
Starting point is 00:10:15 That's how it happened. Okay. It all comes back to Woodrow Wilson. So this is the same thing over and over and over again. And the thing we have to realize, Assad, not good. Not good. Why? Why was he the guy?
Starting point is 00:10:34 because we, as in the West, put him there. Why would we do that if he was such a bad guy? Because we like bad guys in the Middle East. We like sectarians that are looking and saying, what I'm going to do is I'm going to keep everybody unbalanced so the West can have their way. That's what happened. And that's what's happening again.
Starting point is 00:11:02 We used to like people like Assad. I never did. Not a good thing. We used to like people like Assad until what? Until we got Obama and then Clinton and then Biden. That's why we keep doing this over and over and over again. You know, I got to tell you, I wanted to get, I wanted to do some real sexy talk about the Ottoman Empire and then I just got it sidetracked. I just got sidetracked. I'm sorry. Hit the
Starting point is 00:11:37 porn music because this, oh no, I'm going to, I'm about, I'm taking you back to 1915. Oh, yeah, baby. The young Turks, hmm, they were so hot. They were drunk on power and you know what happens then. Well, they kill 1.5 Armenian Christians, 1.5 million. That's usually what happens. and then the porn kind of goes bad. All of a sudden you're like, wow, there's a lot of dead bodies around here. Yeah, well, that's progressive pornography for you. Men, women, children, marched into the desert, starved, beaten, and then slaughtered. But just 1.5 million Christians.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Why? Because they wouldn't bend the knee to the regime that demanded their souls. Let me give it to you in today's language. Islamists versus Christians. I think I've seen this movie before. Yeah. Now, history calls it the Armenian genocide. The Turks don't.
Starting point is 00:12:37 They're like, genocide. What are you talking? The United States won't even call it that. But it's a real scar. It's a lesson. And this one, I don't care if the history book writes it this way, all kind of etched in blood there in the desert. Now, fast forward to the 1930s.
Starting point is 00:12:55 What happened? Is he going to talk about the Nazis again? Mm-hmm. He just loves the Nazis. Nazi Germany rises. Who becomes a target? Jews. Six million Jews snuffed out. Not because of what they did, but because of who they were. Hitler said he knew he could, listen carefully.
Starting point is 00:13:19 He knew he could get away with it because the world didn't care when the Turks tried to kill all of the Christian Armenians. wait a minute that might be something we should avoid it happens over and over and over again power shifts ideologies clash and then who pays the price the innocent go back at syria December 2024 Assad falls and this new guy the hTS group led by Abu Mohammed al-Juani. I love that guy. Who doesn't think that Abu would be a great guy? Wasn't he in that cartoon with Robin Williams? No, that was the monkey. The world was cheering for a moment.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Oh, this is great. The tyrant's gone. Yeah, yeah. And then he pulls out his big sword. Okay? The executions. first ones 13 dead maybe 58 1358 who's really counting then last week 311 allahuites and they're saying now a thousand Christians we don't know we don't know because who's telling the truth who actually is telling the truth because it seems like there's a lot of bad people involved on all sides but here's what's not new here's what we can confirm killing lots and lots of killing It's not new.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Same playbook. When Islamists take over, ISIS, Boko Haram, now HTS, pattern repeats. Christians, Yazidis, minorities, given a choice, convert, run, or die. Now let me paint you a picture from the last five years. Nigeria, Boko Haram. They killed over 12,000 Christians since 2020. Did you know that? Did you know that?
Starting point is 00:15:30 12,000 Christians since 2020. I know, but we had Joe Biden. It was almost as bad. No, no, I don't think it was. Don't think it was. They kidnapped thousands of kids, girls, as young as 12. They're now slaves, being raped every day. Forced into marriages they didn't choose,
Starting point is 00:15:51 but Allah said they had to get married. In Iraq, post-IS, the Christian population is gone from 1.5 million to under 200,000. How'd that happen. Syria's own Christians, once a million strong, down to 300,000. And that was before the latest chaos. Now, here's what's crazy. All of these people that are being murdered and being chased out, I'm not hearing about those people being accepted in Europe. because I know it's refugees, but the only refugees I ever really hear about are the ones whose leaders are chopping Christians' heads off in the Middle East.
Starting point is 00:16:36 So why are they the ones we're accepting and not the Christians that are actually losing their heads? I don't know. In 2021, 5,621 Christians were killed worldwide for their faith. most under Islamic hands. It's not a statistic. This is becoming a growing graveyard now. So what happens when these groups take over? Killing. You know, we have the Nazarene Fund.
Starting point is 00:17:08 You know what that's from? The Arabic N for Nazarene, they would put that on the doors of anybody who believed in Jesus. You'd pay a tax. You'd convert. Or you'd die. churches have been burned crosses torn down families torn apart slaves actual slaves
Starting point is 00:17:26 oh come on I would in the 1850s I would have been on the right side of that what are you doing now what are you doing now sold in markets just like the dark ages but not as bad as it was in South Carolina
Starting point is 00:17:43 yeah yeah just as bad just as bad but I know I know your friend they all would be fighting against that right now. Ooh, except they're not. Here is the thing that you really need to know about this.
Starting point is 00:18:04 Whether it is after World War I or Obama, Biden, Hillary, hey, do we have that classic Hillary thing? Because let me just give you this. So Obama gets in and he's like, hey, the Arab Spring. His USAID gets together with Facebook. and they start to plant the seeds of the Arab Spring. When that one was done, because it was so spontaneous, then they decided, let's overthrow Libya.
Starting point is 00:18:37 And remember, remember what Hillary said? We came, we saw, he died. Oh, it was so funny when they were dragging his body through the streets. That was a bad guy. But what's happened since? Oh, I remember Benghazi. because Benghazi, we started arming the people so, you know, they could get who they saw after they came in and he died. So they armed.
Starting point is 00:19:03 And then we didn't want them to have the arms anymore. That was really dangerous. We got to get them to the people who are going to help us in Syria. The people who are now in charge of Syria. You know, the ones killing the Christians. Yeah. Yeah. That's what happened.
Starting point is 00:19:20 and Joe Biden doubled down. They were telling us that these guys are good guys. They weren't good guys. We have a monster. Regime changers come in and then they're like, oh, we need a new monster. And so they find a new monster. All of it, it ends in violent extremists every single time.
Starting point is 00:19:43 They get power, a new monster arrives, rinse and repeat. That's what's happening. And that's why we've got to. to end the policies that we have been on for the last 100 years. More in just a second. First, somewhere in Israel right now, there's a Jewish woman standing alone, staring at her empty cupboard. Meanwhile, somebody in Texas, there's a Christian donating to the International Fellowship
Starting point is 00:20:06 of Christians and Jews, a donation that becomes a hot meal, a blanket, a lifeline for that woman who's standing alone right now. In the Holy Land, the birthplace of the Jewish and Christian faith, there's a fight happening right now. It's a fight for what's right, what's decent. It's a fight for the very existence of the Jewish people and the international fellowship of Christians and Jews is on the front line of that fight. Last year, the generosity of people like you provided over two million meals to impoverished families and emergency aid to the regions of Israel that have been torn apart by the war with Hamas and Hezbollah. I don't know which one of those is good. Neither of them.
Starting point is 00:20:44 The need hasn't stopped. Neither has the sacred mission of the international Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Give a gift to bless Israel and our people right now. Support.ifcj.org. That's just one word. Go to supportifcj.org. Or call 888-488-8-488-I-F-CJ. 8-88-48-8-48-I-FCJ.
Starting point is 00:21:04 International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. 10 seconds. Station ID. You know, I want to remind you that there is something you can do besides just be involved politically. Mercury 1. I was on the phone with these guys all week and the Nazarene Fund all weekend. We're there in Syria, and we have been moving people to safety, and it's a really dangerous job.
Starting point is 00:21:41 We are in places that are so dangerous. I will never tell you where we are until someday I write a book about what was done in these days. But we have people every day risking their lives to save Christians and people who are persecuted minorities. and you have saved, I don't have the actual number, but if you include the, what is it, 20, 22,000 in Afghanistan, we're over 30,000 people that we have moved to safety, maybe closer to 40,000 people.
Starting point is 00:22:15 I mean, you've done a remarkable thing, but you're the one that runs toward the fire, not away from it. Nazarene Fund, Mercury 1, they're already on the ground in Syria, They're ready to go. We have the people. We have the contacts. Believe it or not, they have the courage.
Starting point is 00:22:35 I don't. They do. We just need the fuel and your help. If we don't, it's going to turn into another Rwanda. It's really bad. Please pass this on to your pastor or whoever that you know might care and can help. I want you to just go to mercury one.org. Mercury1.org.
Starting point is 00:22:56 I don't know which thing that you could just get. give it to the general fund, I don't know, or you can go to nazareenfund.org. Either one of those, they're both working. Nazareenfund.org is probably the one that's going to really be helping the Christians in Syria and persecuted minorities. That's their only mission. So either one, mercury one.org or nazarenefund.org. This is Glenn Beck. All right.
Starting point is 00:23:26 So we don't have all the results in. for 2025, but there's some early indications of violent crime is going down in America. It's almost as if there are a bunch of new criminals just appearing out of the woodwork every day, and then someone came along and stopped them. What happened there? Anyway, while the good news is that it's going down, bad news is all it takes is one encounter. You could lose your life, or you could lose somebody close to you. It's not worth the risk. So what do you do? You arm yourself, right? We have the Second Amendment for several reasons. Self-protection is one of them. I'm a guy who carries a gun and I believe in my wife carrying a gun.
Starting point is 00:24:02 But what about an encounter where the attacker doesn't have to pay with his life? They do exist. In those moments, you really would probably rather have a burn a launcher because you shoot somebody in your life is going to be hell for the next year, maybe two years. It looks like a gun, but it fires non-lethal rounds, either projectiles or tear gas pellets. Either one's going to stop an attacker in his tracks long enough to get to the police. It's legal in all 50 states. You should own one.
Starting point is 00:24:33 There's no permits or any kind of background check required. Burna, bryrna.com slash glen, burna.com slash glen. And head over to blazTV.com slash glen. And subscribe to Blaze TV today. Use the code Glenn and save 20 bucks. Welcome to the Glenn Beck program. Well, let's say hello to Mr. Stu Bergier, executive producer on the program. Hello, Stu.
Starting point is 00:25:08 Hello, Glenn. How are you? I'm great. How are you? Really well. Everything's going great, and I'm excited about it. Yeah, right? That's the way to do it. And, you know, these things come up and you're like, might be interesting to see how it all works out. That's exactly how I feel about everything. Well, hello, Pac-Rae, who's wearing...
Starting point is 00:25:25 Hello, Glenn. Who's wearing a... Looks like an official ice jacket. Yeah, and it is. And it is. Of course, because I'm official ice agent now. Are you really? Do people... Unofficially official. Wow, it's that official.
Starting point is 00:25:38 It's unofficial. Yes. Keeping it on the down low. Exactly. They're pretending that you're not. They like to pretend. They give everybody a little wink. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:46 Yeah. He can't bring you in. Yeah. But you're wearing that anyway. But I'm wearing it. Yeah. So that must mean I can. Right.
Starting point is 00:25:53 And so do you see a lot of people run when you walk into stores with that? Almost everybody. Oh, almost everybody. Almost everybody. That's weird. Where I live, almost everybody, right. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:26:02 I wanted to bring you in because I, I heard a couple of takes, a couple of, a couple of, audio pieces on your show today. And I just wanted you to take us through. Hank Johnson and Al Green. Which one do you want to start with? Oh, man. It's so hard to choose. I know.
Starting point is 00:26:20 Let's start with Al Green. Yeah, I was going to suggest. Al Green, you know, he was the guy who stood up last week with a cane. I really, did anybody else see that and think, oh my gosh, it's 1853? Yes. Right? Yes. He's dead of the green.
Starting point is 00:26:34 He's going to go up and try to beat Donald Trump to death with a cane. Anyway, here he is claiming that, well, you listen. That is invidious discrimination in the House of Representatives. I'm a son of the segregated South. The rights that the Constitution recognized for me, my friends and neighbors denied. I had to sit in the back of the bus, the balcony of the movie, drink from a colored water fountain, and my relatives who committed some crimes were locked up in the bottom of the jail. I know what invidious discrimination looks like. The clan burned across in my yard.
Starting point is 00:27:10 I know what it smells like. I was in filthy waiting rooms, and I've been in places where I didn't want to be, and I know what it sounds like. I've been called all kinds of ugly names. So I know invidious discrimination. And when the speaker decided that I would be removed, and then there was this motion,
Starting point is 00:27:30 this resolution to censure me, it became obvious to me that I was not being treated as others were. Not vizious. And candidly speaking, it is invidious discrimination. I told you. It is invidious discrimination. I'm not sure I've ever heard the word. Yeah, I hadn't until now.
Starting point is 00:27:48 But it is an actual word. Is it? And what does it mean? Likely to arouse or incur resentment or anger in others. Exactly. Okay. All right. Well, it's good.
Starting point is 00:27:58 We learned something. And it used it well. It used it well. Like five times. And when we were talking about. Al Green. I was worried when the definition started with likely to arouse. But it did come around to an actual word.
Starting point is 00:28:09 So he's saying that just because he's black when he stood, waving a cane at the president during the speech. And yelling and screaming during his speech. Because that's not happened before. The closest we could find
Starting point is 00:28:24 is Joe Wilson saying you lie. And everybody thought... And he did it once. He did it once. And that was it. And then everybody apologized for it. And he was censored the next day. But he stood up with a cane. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:37 And would not sit back down either. It's because he was black. Yeah, it's invidious discrimination. Okay. All right, good. All right. Now Hank Johnson. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:45 Okay. He's brilliant. And you might remember him from worrying about Guam tipping over and capsizing. Yeah. Yeah. So the guy is a thinker. Only if we put all of the Marines on one side of the island, then it would capsize. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:01 because she wasn't just randomly saying the island would capsize he was saying if we moved too many troops to one side of it it would 10,000 he said if there are 10,000 troops were put there of course that's good of course people they leave out the contact stuff I know right we want to be fair right we want to be fair it's invidious that's what that is yeah let's go to cut 12 here is uh Hank Johnson all of the ways in which they can kill public education from defunding it from a federal level and then also enabling state monies and local monies to flow into the private for-profit school setup that is going, that is ongoing. It's a recipe to make education unavailable to black people and where does that then
Starting point is 00:29:55 leave us? It puts us back to when America was great. and we were picking cotton and America's not great back then. Productivity that they are putting my Latino brothers and sisters who migrate here to do that work because we are not suited intellectually to do it anymore.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Wait, why? But they would have us back confined to doing that kind of work. That was invidious. We got to watch out for where we are headed and it's the people that will save our democracy that will stop this movement towards the past that Trump has us. Can we stop for just say?
Starting point is 00:30:39 I just have a couple of questions here to Pat. So did he just say that blacks were no longer intellectually suited for fieldwork? Yeah, I'm not sure if he's talking about blacks or Americans in general, but yeah, we're intellectually not suited for it. So meaning we're above that work? Above that, I guess. But Hispanics are. Yeah, but Hispanics are, they're not above doing that.
Starting point is 00:31:03 They're suited. I guess they're intellectually suited for it. Yeah, I mean, there's a difference between I'm above that, which is absolutely wrong. And I'm not intellectually suited for that work, but you are. What? Yeah. What does that even mean? Would that be racism?
Starting point is 00:31:21 Would you say? I think it's invidious racism. Invidious. Oh, no. You're likely to arouse? Yes. Okay. Not really.
Starting point is 00:31:29 Sorry, I left the second part of that definition. Wow. So then he also says that it's Trump's plan to close the Department of Education to keep people from being educated. But if I could be wrong, help me out with the facts. I think since the Department of Education was put into place, our test scores have gone way down. And so like, like not just black kids, like no kids, graduate now with more than like a third grade reading level. That's what's putting people in chains. I don't know if he understands that.
Starting point is 00:32:11 But the entire system as it's built, and everyone should be aware of this. You know, they keep saying, what's going to happen to our schools? What's going to happen to? What has happened to our schools? Right? Yeah. President Trump's talked about that pretty extensively. that we're 40th among industrialized nations.
Starting point is 00:32:29 We spend by far the most amount of money. We're number one. We're number one in spending, and we're 40th in education. So there's a problem there. Yeah. There's a big, big problem there. And part of it, honestly, I mean, when will, you know, anybody who is stuck in 1965 is not going to get this.
Starting point is 00:32:52 They're not going to get this because they're stuck in 1965. and they don't see that the world has dramatically changed. And they still look at people like Johnson, one of the biggest racist of my lifetime as a president. They don't see him as doing anything but good. Right. I truly believe, whether he knew it or not, what he did completely destroyed black families, black children,
Starting point is 00:33:18 enslaved them. And until we understand that, if you look at the timeline, you see that proven, out. I know over and over and over again. In almost every way. Yep. And I mean, when are people, we have got to stop looking at the government as wanting to do good. Maybe they did at some time.
Starting point is 00:33:42 I don't know. Our founders would have said, no, it never does that. It never does that because people are in charge. So you always look at it as a hostile entity. That's why you keep it under wraps. But let's just say they wanted to do good. Okay, everybody in the government wants to do good. But they're not, okay?
Starting point is 00:34:04 They're not. So for us to say, let's just keep going down this path is an act of insanity. All we do is throw more money, grow the government, which is not working by any measurement. It's not working. Everybody's so upset about, oh, my gosh, we shut down. USAID. First of all, USAID is a CIA operation. It is, it was designed to look like aid, but it's a CIA op. That's what it is. So first of all, you've got to learn that, man. Learn that. Second of all, even if, even if it was, you know, for aid,
Starting point is 00:34:52 can anybody tell me why we should spend maybe 20 cents on every dollar that goes there? And I'm being generous. Maybe 20 cents of those dollars actually goes to help people. The rest of it is all about control and manipulation of other people's countries. And what's left is graft and just incompetence and loss. Why would we do that? why are we focusing on that maybe 20 cents instead of the 80 cents you know if if we were losing 20 cents on every dollar i'd still be pissed
Starting point is 00:35:34 but we're not we're getting 20 cents of what is what we really think we're getting and 80 cents to bad stuff why why why how do you defend that you can't not if you're reasonable not if your uh common since American. You can't. Unless you say government always means to do well and gosh, we're just... We're trying. Right, but when have they proven that to be true
Starting point is 00:36:02 recently? And if we listen to you, everyone in Guam would be in the ocean right now. That's... There is that. Yeah, and you're right, you're right, you're right. There is that. You're right, you're right, Stu. Thank you very much. I just want everybody in Guam to...
Starting point is 00:36:16 Yes, ha! All right, thank you. Thanks, Pat. There is a thief out there. not the kind that kicks in your door, the kind that slips through the cracks of your life. It's an identity thief. This is a faceless crook who is going to steal your name, your savings, your peace of mind every day. Good people like you wake up to find their lives turned upside down. Starting point is 00:37:28 Lifelock.com, 1-800, life lock. This is Glenn Beck. On Friday, Trump came out with something that is just, it's unbelievable. The Department of Homeland Security has, in our airports, 200 TSA people who are clocking in simply as union reps. They don't check your bags. They don't do anything else. All they're doing is making sure that the union grows, becomes more powerful, and helps the union. Now, I don't know about you, but I have a problem with that.
Starting point is 00:38:27 And this is something that Biden did right before he left office. Just increase the union representation. No, no. No, you can't do that. So I'm going to go into that here in just a minute. And also Trump's tariffs, I can't tell you how many people I talked to this weekend that are coming to me now and they're like, okay, glad, glad, glad, glad, glad, you're reasonable, right? I mean, Trump is crazy. I'm like, no, no, he's not. Well, I mean, okay, okay, I know you don't think that, but I mean, come on, you got to see reason here.
Starting point is 00:38:58 Okay, make your case. And it's all about the tariffs and everything else. And I just want to, I think I can help you talk to your friends. who are unhinged about Trump and Zelensky and Trump and the cuts in Washington and the tariffs. It is, look, it's a scary time. It's a scary time. But I want to present maybe their argument, you know, the people that you're talking to. So I could see if it's the same thing that I'm hearing from people that, you know, aren't giving Trump the benefit of the doubt.
Starting point is 00:39:39 You don't have to, but you do kind of want him to win. So if you want him to win, you have to stop thinking that he's absolutely crazy for just a second and go, okay, is there any method to what I think is madness? And the answer is yes. You may not like it. You may not even agree with it. But it's not evil. It's just a different strategy because everything is changing. That is, you know, I talked about this on Friday in hour number three.
Starting point is 00:40:09 as I was talking about AI and encouraging you to look at AI right now in a different way. You should absolutely understand that AI can eat us down the road. But right now, it's a shovel. It's a tool. It's the best tool man has ever been given. And right now, if you learn how to use that tool, you can use it for good. at some point it might be like, and now you will become mine.
Starting point is 00:40:42 And you say, oh, uh-uh, you're no longer a shovel. It looks like you're looking at me as the shovel. No, thank you. I'm not a tool of you. You're a tool of mine. But you have to be reasonable on things that are happening and understand that the entire world is changing. And Donald Trump is a big part of that. And it's not just, we've gone crazy.
Starting point is 00:41:06 No, he's trying to change a hundred years of direction. And in my opinion, and a fairly well-educated opinion, because I know the history of the last 120 years with the progressive movement, I see what he's trying to do. And he's trying to do it all at once. What was done over a hundred plus years, he's trying to reverse in the next four. And it's going to be uncomfortable. and it's going to raise some eyebrows, but I want you to be able to explain it to your friends,
Starting point is 00:41:41 and we'll do that coming up. In just the second, you sick, twisted freak. And back. The hurricanes of 2024 are behind us. Rubble is still. The Rebel still is happening everywhere. FEMA stretched so thin, not to mention on thin ice with the president.
Starting point is 00:42:22 During that time, the power grids flickered shelves in the store went bare quickly. Families suffered. And the media just moved on. You should not. You should be prepared for whatever the next disaster will be. And for that, you'll want my Patriot supply. Starting point is 00:43:22 Look, Air Canada does a sold world. Super, an offer for the assort, station thermal,
Starting point is 00:43:31 volcano. Parlante of volcanoes. You've seen the price for the Japan? M. it's good. It's not
Starting point is 00:43:44 a lot of I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Degesuery limited, this sold is d'Ansurie or over to your agent of voyage.
Starting point is 00:43:53 The conditions can't apply. All right, I want to talk to you about chaos. The chaos that Donald Trump is causing all over the world. Okay, is he? Is he? Is this chaos or is this a plan that you don't like? And if you want to talk about chaos, let's look at the other side as well.
Starting point is 00:45:12 There are, there's chaos at Act Blue. In fact, in a letter to Act Blue's board of directors, this comes from the New York Times. There is a, quote, alarming pattern of high-level exits that is eroding our confidence in the stability of the organization. It is toxic chaos. How? Now, Trump doesn't have anything to do with that, but maybe a little bit of corruption might. We'll get into that. And so much more of this hour, standby first.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Let me tell you about relief factor sleep. Sleep gets a bad rap sometimes. Fell asleep on the job. Bell asleep at the wheel. I used to be president until I was sleeping all the time. Anyway, sleep isn't a weakness. It is a superpower. It makes you healthier.
Starting point is 00:46:03 It clears your mind for the everyday things you need to do. And when you can't sleep, it's really not good for the rest of the day or your presidency. That's why you should try Z Factor. Developed by doctors, it uses a formula for all natural ingredients to calm your mind, relax your body, 100% drug-free way to help you fall asleep faster, sleep better, and stay asleep longer. Z Factor uses a formula of all four natural ingredients to calm your mind and relax your body so you can ease into sleep faster and sleep right through the night. If you're looking for better Zs, see how the right formula of supplements can help.
Starting point is 00:46:36 First time Z Factor buyers are going to enjoy 46% savings. It's 1995 for a 30-day supply. Go to Relieffactor.com. That's Relieffactor.com. 1-800 for relief. 1-800, the number 4. Relief. Several top officials, including the highest-ranking, legal.
Starting point is 00:46:55 officer at Act Blue have reportedly jump ship in recent weeks while those who remain are allegedly stuck dealing with a culture of volatility and toxicity. In a letter to Act Blue's board of directors obtained by the New York Times, unions representing the group's workers
Starting point is 00:47:13 identified seven officials who recently quit and stressed the alarming pattern of high-level exits. Senior staff departures reportedly began on February 21st, two weeks after the organization reportedly provided congressional investigators with an update regarding Act Blue's security, their fraud prevention measures, and related procedures. Act Blue, we have known, is, I believe, appears to be a money laundering system for the
Starting point is 00:47:45 left. And there's a lot of money going through there. I don't know if any, if Doge is going to find any connections to Act Blue, but I I wouldn't be surprised. Why are all these people leaving? Because they know this game is over. And that's why people are freaking out in Washington. They are freaking out in Washington because they know the game is over.
Starting point is 00:48:10 Now, there are those people that are in the government that believe that they're doing the patriotic thing because they believe they know better than you, the people who elect presidents or the president himself. You would not want this if it was your guy in office, right? Why wouldn't you want it? Why wouldn't you want a bunch of, let's say, Republicans that are in the deep state that didn't give a flying crap what Joe Biden said and wasn't executing his plan? Why wouldn't you like that? You wouldn't like that because that's not what the people voted for. The people voted for the president, not for these unelected.
Starting point is 00:48:53 bureaucrats that are faceless, nameless, and have complete control apparently over your country and your life. No, you wouldn't like it. And I talk to some people this weekend that are very upset about Zelensky and how the president treated Zelensky. You've got to watch the entire thing. People who are watching the clip to when the vice president steps in and says, hold on here. That's where people start. That's not the beginning. There's 20 minutes, to that were Donald Trump and J.D. Vance were trying to disarm Zelensky, trying to get him to, hey, hey, hey, hey, not appropriate here. Stop. But it took him 20 minutes before J.D. Vance finally just snapped and said, stop it. So you have to inform yourself and not just the clips. I am a little uncomfortable
Starting point is 00:49:47 by the way the tariffs are going with Canada and Mexico. Not so much Mexico, but definitely Canada. Mexico is just a, I'm sorry, but it's just an absolute corrupt country. And they've got to get control of those cartels. And we have to get control of those cartels as well and make sure we're not doing business with any of the cartels, which I'm not convinced we're not. But Canada is one of these countries. Come on.
Starting point is 00:50:15 It's Canada. It's Canada. We've always liked Canada. Canada's always liked us. Okay. There is a $1.2 trillion online with our trade relationship. Okay. And everybody's saying, oh my gosh, this will have a ripple effect.
Starting point is 00:50:32 It's going to just cost everybody. And you know what? It might. It might. I don't know. It might. On the surface, it is really tempting to see what everything that Donald Trump is doing as chaos. He's just swinging.
Starting point is 00:50:47 everybody and he's hitting our friends and he's hitting our supposed friends and he's just taken out everybody but that's not really what's going on and I I want you to understand this so you can share this to your friends or your family who maybe are freaking out what are they we're pissing off Canada I know I don't like it either I don't like it but it's not chaos it is a strategy and you are dealing with the best negotiator America has ever had in office, ever. And this is the strategy that people in America elected Trump to execute. Now, maybe your friend didn't or your family didn't because they didn't vote for him.
Starting point is 00:51:30 Okay, but the majority of people did, okay, electoral college and the popular vote. And the county swung by 20 points to the red. So this is a mandate. It is a movement. And it's not like other presidents that are like, you know, I'm going to be just like you when I get in. I'm a fight for everything you're saying you're going to fight for because I'm just like you. And boy, that thing that I don't even address ever, but I just love what you're saying there, I got your back. And then they go in and they don't have your back.
Starting point is 00:52:06 That's not what happened this time. First of all, people didn't vote for Donald Trump like they voted for Joe Biden. Joe Biden, they voted for because it wasn't Trump. Okay? That's not what happened this time around. When you vote for somebody who's not the other guy, well, what is it you're getting? In that case, you got, I'm going to make your boy a girl. Nobody was for that.
Starting point is 00:52:31 Nobody voted for that. Maybe extremists, but we didn't even know that was even coming our way until, what, six months or eight months into the presidency. And then all of a sudden, DEI, ESG, all of this stuff was a big story. Most people didn't vote for that. They did vote for changing the direction of America. They were tired of corruption. They're tired of bureaucrats telling them how to live their life where they didn't get to vote on it. They're tired of being screwed by other countries.
Starting point is 00:53:09 We just want a fair and balanced playing field. I don't like tariffs. I do like reciprocary. tariffs. You put a tax on our milk. We'll put a tax on your milk. You don't want a tax on your milk. Then don't put a tax. And we won't tax you either. I like that. But that's what we're playing now is people just think we're going to take out Canada. I want you to think of this differently with your friends. And maybe your friends won't like this example. But it's true. When Ronald Reagan stood up, it was, I think it was in March of 83.
Starting point is 00:53:47 and he's just gotten in. And he's standing, I think it was at a breakfast or something. And he stood up and he said, and Russia, the Soviet Union, is an evil empire. And everybody went, oh my gosh, he just had an evil empire. That's so scary. And everybody, even people who liked him were like, don't say that. They'll nuke us.
Starting point is 00:54:09 And he's like, no, you're never going to beat them. We cannot do, now listen to this. We cannot continue to play the game, the same way we've been playing it for 50 years because it's not getting us anywhere. In fact, it might be hurting us. We know with all of our foreign policy that we've done, getting us into endless wars, spending all kinds of money, racking up a debt of $35 trillion, not knowing what the truth is because the government's no longer transparent.
Starting point is 00:54:42 None of that works. None of that works. And that's what Donald Trump was saying. And that's what people voted for, a change. I think that's what people actually voted for when it came to Barack Obama. Because all of this transparency, everything was opaque under George W. Bush. You were like, wait, what are we doing there? Why is they?
Starting point is 00:55:04 I don't want necessarily these never-ending wars. And now I've got, you know, people checking my underpants at the airport. What are we doing? That's why they wanted change, transparency. They wanted change. But he never defined the change. Donald Trump was very clear. Anybody who didn't know that massive tariffs were coming,
Starting point is 00:55:28 they just weren't paying attention. Okay. When Reagan did it, it wasn't a slip of the tongue. It was deliberate. It was a public shot across the bow. He did it in public because he wanted to change the world. and while everybody else was going, oh my gosh, and critics, Democrats, everybody,
Starting point is 00:55:49 it's going to be catastrophic. He's going to get us nuked by Friday. All the squirrels will be dead. What are squirrels are going to be? What? Reagan wasn't playing for the applause. He was playing to win. His words were backed by a military buildup
Starting point is 00:56:09 and unrelenting pressure, and it forced the Soviets to confront their own fragility. They couldn't do it. By 1989, remember, it was 1983 when he said evil empire. And we were at equal terms in the world. We were both world superpowers that could annihilate the other one at the drop of a hat. That was in 1983. Evil Empire. By 1989, the Berlin Wall was rubble. All because, Reagan had the balls to say it and then not blink. Now, we could have been vaporized. Yes.
Starting point is 00:56:55 But if you want to change the world, you're going to have, I have this saying that somebody gave to me a long time ago and I live my life by it. Risk big, win big. Risk big, lose big. Just know the odds before you put your money down on the table. That's why I don't like Vegas. I know the odds are not in my favor. So, yes, I could risk big, but I probably will lose big because the odds are not in my favor.
Starting point is 00:57:27 When it comes to Ronald Reagan's Soviet Empire, he had a plan. And so the odds, he knew, were in our favor. The same thing with Donald Trump. We can't afford a trade war, but neither can they. So let's all play nice with one another, shall we? This is the same kind of leadership that Ronald Reagan had. We elected Donald Trump to fight, to take on a global trade system, to take on the deficit and the spending. We can't fire all these people.
Starting point is 00:58:06 It's causing all kinds of chaos. Wait, are you okay? Honestly, are you okay with a good portion? of our money raised in taxes going to pay for salaries and benefits the way it is? We have six million plus employees. For what? For what? When you see how corrupt it is, why?
Starting point is 00:58:31 Can we return some of that power? Well, you can't cut the Department of Education. Why not? He pledged he was going to. He told everyone on the campaign trail he's going to. And then when he tries, everybody says, we've got a performance. preserve the, why, it doesn't work? Show me the evidence that it works. Well, you're going to just leave all of the poor children out to, to educationally starve. They're starving to death right now.
Starting point is 00:58:58 They can't read. When you don't teach children to read, they become slaves to whomever can read. How is that compassion? How is that good? How is that something you want? want to preserve. It all comes down to one thing. And this is what you're actually fighting. And I'll explain it to you in 60 seconds. Deep in the quiet of a mother's womb, if you listen carefully, there is a voice. Not that voice. It's a heartbeat. It's saying there's life in here. I'm made in the image of God, just like you. Our culture hasn't spent very long. you know, actually listening. We've been plugging our ears because we don't want to hear that voice.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Some people don't want to hear it. It's inconvenient. Expecting mothers, especially the desperate, often choose to silence that voice. They don't even want to think about it because they're desperate. Instead of looking at people and saying, you're a baby killer, why don't we look at people and say, how can we help you to hear that voice? That is exactly what this organization does that will, we'll, help you. It will help these women hear that voice because they offer free ultrasounds to expecting mothers. The organization is pre-born. At least half of the time, that's all it takes
Starting point is 01:00:30 to convince a woman. She's carrying a living human being and she'll change her mind. However, the other big obstacle is, I can't. I don't have any support. Will you do with a pre-born clinic? Because they care about the baby and the mom and they'll help her for two years. You years after the baby is born. Preborn.com slash Beck. You're saving lives. Hit pound 250 keyword baby. Make a donation of any size that you can.
Starting point is 01:00:56 Maybe it's a monthly contribution. Preborn.com slash Beck. Every 28 bucks buys another ultrasound. Preborn.com slash Beck, sponsored by Preborn. 10 seconds. Station ID. So let's just look at Canada and the tariffs here for a second. 270% tariffs on our dairy imports.
Starting point is 01:01:25 $40 billion. for, you know, in good surplus. That's not a quirk. You know, Donald Trump keeps saying this, and people don't realize this is true. The EU was designed to be able to compete against the United States. Okay. They are economic competitors. That doesn't mean their enemies, the same thing with Canada. And when you're the rich person, believe me, look at how people look at rich people. They haven't paid their fair share in taxes. That's the way they view up. us. Okay, we pay more for our medical prescriptions here in America than they do overseas. Because we even view ourselves politically when the people in power actually have anything to say about it.
Starting point is 01:02:12 They're like, well, we're the richest country in the world, so we should pay more. No. Can somebody defend us as well? That's what Donald Trump is. Here's what this boils down to. It boils down to your friend. Friends are not paying attention because they've already made their mind up about Donald Trump. They don't know who he is. Okay. Did you like it when he went over and he was like, yeah, that little guy, missile boy. And he was saying that about Kim Jong-un who had his finger on a launch button.
Starting point is 01:02:49 You're like, okay, this isn't good. What happened? What happened? We won. and he got American citizens that were being held hostage out of there. All of a sudden, he's friends with him. No, he was just calling him, you know, Rocket Man, just like 10 minutes ago. This is what he does.
Starting point is 01:03:12 This is how he negotiates. It's his playbook is provoke, pressure, prevail. That's what it is. So people are just. just afraid because it's a different approach. And nobody likes to upset the, you know, it's like, have you ever, do you have anybody, I'm a horrible negotiator. I go into buy a car. I don't even, I don't even go. I send a friend in because I'm like, I can't negotiate. I always feel bad. I'm like, I don't know. I don't want to screw you. Horrible.
Starting point is 01:03:49 Horrible. So I have a good friend who goes in, Robert, my brother, he goes in and he negotiates. And he loves it. Okay. Because that's the. game they play all day and they know you don't like it. And so you're like, I don't know, I don't want to be, I mean, I just want everything to be fair and nice and happy. And now when you're negotiating, you bring the biggest dog to the negotiating table you can get. Somebody that knows how to play their game as well as they do, if not better, and doesn't blink. That's how you get a good deal. That's what Donald Trump is. And you're the person like me in the card. You're the person like me in the car dealership going, but no, we don't, he doesn't really mean that.
Starting point is 01:04:30 He's, I don't know, maybe he's had a really bad day, but I, Mr. Car salesman, I appreciate your family. I don't want your family to starve. They're not going to starve. This is the game they play. And nobody likes to play that game. That's why you hire someone like Donald Trump to come in and play that game. Your job is to not freak out because.
Starting point is 01:04:57 if you freak out the other side sees the whole family sitting there squirming and then they just look at you like really can you believe this guy who's negotiating on your behalf he's a monster and what happens the family starts to squirm and they blink don't blink you may not like the style but this is what we voted for complete change this is Glenn Beck. If you would like to help us save those people who are, you know, being slaughtered and move them to safety, we were doing it this weekend. and you can go to Mercury1.org or the Nazarene Fund. Specifically, Nazarene Fund is the one that is doing a lot of the real heavy lifting on this one. There's a couple of other things. Our family seminar is happening April 25th, 26th here in Irving at our studios and Mercury One's education center right across the brickyard here.
Starting point is 01:08:04 We'll take you through the vault and you're going to bring your family in if you'd like to be a part of this and you will see part of our almost what 160, or 170,000 artifacts and you'll be able to learn history from Christopher Columbus all the way till about 1960. And David Barton and Tim Barton, his son and I are teaching it and letting the artifacts and the documents speak for themselves. It's great. All you have to do is just go to mercury one.org.
Starting point is 01:08:34 Also, if you have kids that are in. college or you happen to be in college, 18 to 25 year olds, hands-on experience, study the original historic documents. All you have to do is just go to Americanjurney.org and sign up. There's two sessions, one in June and one in July here again in Irving. They're a week long, and again, only for students 18 to 25. And then we have also a teacher's conference. if you are a teacher trying to actually teach American history, you get access to the original documents. We show you how to use them, et cetera, et cetera.
Starting point is 01:09:14 You can register for that one at wallbuilders.com. But it's going to be a very busy summer. If you want any of those, you can find them now at mercury one.org or wallbuilders. I think about your last segment, Glenn, about how to understand what Trump is trying to do here. Yeah. And I think I pretty much. totally agree with you on when it comes to his approach, right? Like, I find it really frustrating to watch the media and honestly, a lot of people on, you know, conservative, liberal media all over
Starting point is 01:09:47 the board, losing their mind either positively or negatively on every little step of his negotiations, right? Like, every time he says something, there's 15 New York Times pieces about how crazy it is and what it's going to do. And then when he, when it winds up being a negotiation, a few weeks later. There's not, yeah, there's just like, oh, gosh, you know. Reagan never got the credit. And that's okay. You know, as Trump, I think, would understand at some level, you know, there's no limit
Starting point is 01:10:15 to what you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit. And I know he does certainly care who gets the credit. That's something we could definitely say about Trump. But he's smart enough to know the negotiation is the bigger part of that. Here's the thing. People look at him and think he's a big bully. He's not. He's a tremendous negotiator.
Starting point is 01:10:33 he wants to walk away in situations where everyone wins. He's a good enough negotiator to know everyone's got to win. Why do you think he's saying, Canada, you're going to be the 51st state? So when we just have no tariffs and they've stopped the drugs from coming over and the terrorists from coming over and the tariffs, you know, go away, everybody's going to say, he didn't win. They're not the 50. Canada is like, see, we beat him. We're not the 51st state. He's not a bully.
Starting point is 01:11:05 He's really, really smart. You have to judge the outcome. Outcome, not the optics of it, the outcome. And that's what I would, and I don't think it's an addendum to what you said. I just, it's just to add a little more clarification on this. Okay. Past presidents, we've often judged by the way they've negotiated in these situations. We did it with the red line in Syria, right?
Starting point is 01:11:30 We did it with Obama. we do that all the time. And people say, well, you have a double standard with Trump. My answer to that is, yeah, I kind of do. And the reason I do is because he's pretty unique. I don't know if anyone wants to notice this in American history. I think Donald Trump's relatively unique. He does things in a different way.
Starting point is 01:11:47 And I think to understand what he's doing, you have to have a double standard. If I chase around every single thing he says and freak out about it or say it's the greatest thing ever, then I will be, I will be chasing my tail and I will be insane. Yeah. And that's what the media does all the time. So I refuse to do that. However, there is the addendum to that, which is he does need to be judged as to whether these policies work or not.
Starting point is 01:12:14 You have to judge the results. You can't just judge nothing and say this is his strategy and therefore it's fine. Stu, let me give you an example. And I know there's got to be another business example out there. But let me just talk in a way. And maybe you can come up with another example that relates to regular people. I've done radio for my whole life and here's what happens. People are like,
Starting point is 01:12:35 we want to change. We got to change. We're going to change shows. We're going to change it up. We want to hire you. Then you get in. You start to change. And everybody's like, well, not that change. We need it to be a little bit more like what it was. And you're like, no, that didn't work. Right. You know, and then, all right, we'll give you six more weeks. And you're like six, it takes two years to turn things in radio.
Starting point is 01:12:55 Okay. That is exactly what we have to do now. You don't judge Donald Trump six or eight. weeks into it. We're going to have to look at the midterms. Okay, is the ship turning in the direction that we want it to go? You just hired him to do a job. Let him do the job. Stop trying to micromanage. You hired somebody very, very unique. Yeah, I know very unique, but I'd like him to be much more, you know, like Ronald Reagan. Or I'd like him to be much more, you know, unique like Bill Clinton. Those guys weren't unique. Reagan was to some degree, but everybody else was playing the same game. Donald Trump, we have asked, we've said, we all admit, $34 trillion doesn't
Starting point is 01:13:43 work. We are getting owned by everybody else in the world. Okay. The EU was set up to compete against us. And because we've been kicking rocks in the, in the parking lot going, we're such a bad country. We just have so much and nobody has anything else. And gosh, we've just, we've done everything that was so colonial. We're even wearing wigs still. I just feel bad for what? The Europeans? And that we're letting the Europeans walk all over us? No, it's not 1945. It's not even 1955 55, 65, 75, 85, 75, 85, 05.15. It's about to slip out of 25. Let's re-evaluate things and do things differently. And that's what he's doing. Yeah. I think that's, that is absolutely true. I mean, I think you really see that clearly with Ukraine, maybe as most clearly as possible. He's looking
Starting point is 01:14:37 at a situation where Ukraine has been promised for two and a half years that they will get as much money as they want for as long as it takes. Correct. Right. And he has to shake them out of that. He has to convince them that's not going to happen anymore. Correct. To get them to come back to the table. So he did say, I mean, you saw, he said it. He was like, oh, you know, Zelensky is a dictator. He's a dictator. He's the worst guy in the world. And then when someone asked him about it, he said, I don't think I said that.
Starting point is 01:15:03 And he smiled, right? Like, this is all for him to get to a goal. And that's... And did you notice he's taking on Russia this week? He's like, you know, Russia, you don't come to the table. We got him at the table. You don't come to the table. I got to give you...
Starting point is 01:15:17 He's talking about additional sanctions on Russia. This man who loves Vladimir Putin so much. So you have to watch it. And you have to judge the results. I remember in his first term, he was over in, I think it was in Europe, and he's talking all these European leaders, and he's talking about tariffs, because he loves tariffs, as you know, favorite word is tariffs. And he said to them, I think it was maybe it was the G6 or one of those meetings. And he said, you know what? He's like, what I would like here is we could just all come together and turn off all tariffs.
Starting point is 01:15:47 And so no one has any. Let's do that right now. Anyone into that? Who's into that? Now, he really does think tariffs are a good policy. I don't agree with him on that. However, I think he probably would come around to a situation where everyone had zero tariffs if they would. Yes.
Starting point is 01:16:05 But he was also challenging them to, oh, you guys are so serious about not liking tariffs, let's go to zero right now. Right. Knowing they wouldn't do it. Correct. Now, you can go crazy and drive yourself insane and say, well, Donald Trump promised zero tariffs and now he's coming with all these. or you can go the other way and say he's once 58% tariffs on every country and now he's backed off of them. You can play that game with your mind if you wish. You can turn your entire life upside down panicking every time the man opens his mouth, which is what the media constantly does.
Starting point is 01:16:42 It's impossible to understand. Or you could step back and look at the results of his policies. What policy did he enact and did it work? North Korea is a good example of that too, Glenn, you brought that one up. He was calling him Little Rocket Man, then he was his best friend. At the end of that, that flare up at that time wound up not turning into nuclear missiles flying across the globe and did eventually turn into a good enough relationship that we brought some hostages home. I wouldn't say it solved the North Korea situation.
Starting point is 01:17:12 More under control than it ever has been before or since. It was an anti-inflammatory drug. Things are common. They're not perfect. they're still doing terrible things to their people. We're not, you know, the human rights violations are still going on. North Korea is not a good place. Kim Jong-un is not a good guy.
Starting point is 01:17:29 That being said, it's a little bit better then. And I think you could judge him on the outcome of that to this point. And I think that part worked. But, you know, that also has to come with if the tariffs, like if tariffs wind up having really negative consequences on the economy and he keeps them on, he's going to pay for that policy because his approval ratings will go down. Correct. The people in the middle who embraced him because they loved the economy and were excited about what he would do.
Starting point is 01:17:59 If it's bad for them, they will turn. Do you really think he doesn't know that he's going to pay a huge price if they don't work? Right. I mean, that's what you judge him on. Correct. Right. He wants to be judged on that, I think, long term. Here's a really good way to look at this.
Starting point is 01:18:16 So what was it? Last week and the week before, everybody's like, he loves Russia. He just loves them. He hates the Ukrainian people, wants them all to die, speak Russian.
Starting point is 01:18:28 I think most of them do anyway. So that's all they were saying. Now, now a senior White House official came out in the last couple of days. Trump's rage, Trump's rage has been intensifying. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 01:18:44 Okay. Why? Why? Intensifying due to Russia's behavior and its escalation on strikes on Ukraine. Wait a minute. I thought he loves. So he said, quote, based on the fact that Russia is absolutely pounding Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I'm strongly considering large-scale banking sanctions, sanctions, tariffs on Russia until a ceasefire and final settlement of agreement on peace is reached.
Starting point is 01:19:16 Get to the table right now before it's too late. I thought, wait a minute, I thought he loved Russia. I thought he was all for Putin. He's weird. He's negotiating. And with a real end in mind, which is he legitimately top of his priority list, wants the killing to stop. Right.
Starting point is 01:19:37 And once that war to end. And the same thing can be said with what he's doing to the government. He was given a mandate, whether you like it or not, reduce the, the size of government reduce the deficit. So he's reducing the size of government, which is a pain in your ass, and you all know, every single American knows.
Starting point is 01:19:57 It doesn't work. It's not working. It's not good. So why would we keep all of this? He's going in and he's being as surgical as he can, but he also knows it took 100 years to grow at this size, and he's got about eight months to pare it down. And everybody's whining.
Starting point is 01:20:15 Oh, you know, That was a good part. Well, everybody's going to have a, that's a good part. I'm going to have things that he cuts that I'm like, that was a good part. You are doing radical surgery right now, radical. And we're not going to all love it. But if you want to save the patient, that's what has to be done. And you have to stop saying, yeah, but your hair will fall out.
Starting point is 01:20:38 And I really like my hair. Do you want to live or not? Do you want the patient to live and go on and fight another day, stronger and better or not. That's the question you have to ask. Sometimes the help you need comes from a place you'd never suspect. For instance, let's say you're a parent at a kid's school board meeting, fighting tooth and nail against the evils and, you know,
Starting point is 01:20:59 the stuff that they're trying to put in your kid's head. Lonely battle sometimes. But you know who's there fighting right along with you in many cases? Patriot Mobile. A cell phone service has your back? Yeah, it's a Christian-owned company. They have really two important things. they have amazing coverage in U.S.-based customer service,
Starting point is 01:21:17 and they fight every day for the values that built this nation. Every call you make, every text you send when you're on Patriot Mobile, helps to fund causes that you believe in. Not the radical left's agenda. They're America's only Christian conservative mobile phone company, and their mission is to passionately defend our God-given constitutional rights and freedoms and to glorify God. Right now, I want you to go to PatriotMobil.com slash back or call 972 Patriot.
Starting point is 01:21:42 Get a free month of service with the promo code back. switch to Patriot Mobile today. Defend freedom with every call and every text you make. Visit Patriotmobile.com slash Beck or call 972 Patriot. Beck, we'll be right back. Welcome to the Glenbeck program. We are so glad you're here. I don't know if anybody, I'd love to hear from you today, 888727BECK.
Starting point is 01:22:27 If you happen to be listening to Friday's podcast where I talked about AI, I was in Friday night, I was in Florida. and I was giving a talk to a really great charity and talking to them about AI and how you've got to start using it right now, right now. And, you know, one of the guys on my security detail was talking to me today. And he's like, Glenn, I used it this weekend, like you said, and I started asking it questions about my field.
Starting point is 01:23:04 and the things that I've been thinking. And he said, I just got sucked into, oh, my gosh, look how much it knows about everything. Have you used it? Sarah, did you use it this weekend? You just have to play with it. Please do not, if you're using Grok 3, please do not use the unhinged or the talk dirty to me or any of that stuff. No? Do not allow it to become a personal.
Starting point is 01:23:34 friend. That's your first barrier. Don't do that. You have to look at this tool as a shovel, because eventually it's going to look at you as a tool, as a shovel. And if you aren't familiar with it now, if you're not using it now in your own life, and as I said on Friday's podcast, showed you how as a parent you can use it. If you don't start using it that way, it will begin to use you soon. So I'd love to hear if you played with it this weekend and what you found back in a minute.
Starting point is 01:24:14 This is Glenn Beck. To the Glenn Beck program, we're glad that you're here. Thank you so much for listening. On Friday, I talked a little bit about AI and I asked you to play around with Brock. If you did, I'd love to hear what you learned or what you discovered or what you're concerned about. Because this is going to be a reality.
Starting point is 01:25:36 And I really want you to understand it so you can get ahead. Because if you're not using it, it will eventually use you. And it's going to be so misused. I mean, I'm working on a handbook of ethics right now. Not only for my staff when it comes to research and everything else, but also for you. because nobody, I don't want the experts building the ethics on this. We saw what they happened with, you know, hey, we've got the ethics of Instagram.
Starting point is 01:26:06 No, thank you. We've got an ethics team here at Google. Uh, you're evil. I want to kind of lead in my own world, my own ethics, because I think mine are probably a little higher standard than what everybody else is going to come up with. And so I want to hear from you. what did you discover if you did anything with it this weekend?
Starting point is 01:26:30 Back in just a second, also I want to tell you about the Department of Homeland Security. Donald Trump dropped the hammer and it's a really good hammer on this one. We'll talk about that coming up. First, spring is stirring and with it, by the way, daylight savings time. What a piece of crap that. Here's my suggestion. We're not going to drop it. Here's my suggestion.
Starting point is 01:26:53 When we fall back, We do that on a Saturday, but we fall back 23 hours. Okay? So we get an extra Saturday out of the deal. When we spring ahead, we spring ahead 25 hours, but we do that. Now we're skipping whole days. Yeah, we do that on a Monday. So we skip Monday and we're riding on Tuesday.
Starting point is 01:27:22 Come on. Who's with me on that? Anyway, spring is stirring, and the real estate market is starting to stir again. Buyers are starting to wake up, sellers are testing the waters, see if the buyers are willing, you know, what are they willing to pay? I've seen it dozens of times and so have you right now, if you're thinking about buying or selling or maybe even planning to do both. I want you to consider this.
Starting point is 01:27:42 Buying or selling a home isn't just part of a transaction. It's where one chapter of your story ends and a new one begins. Given that it is really important and a lot is on the line, why wouldn't you want to have help from an expert? I started real estate agents I trust.com over a decade ago because I was looking myself for real estate agents that I could trust. And I started working with the 500 best real estate agents in the country, according to Wall Street Journal.
Starting point is 01:28:08 And I learned a lot from them. And then we started looking to looking for other people like that. And we vetted down to the tiniest detail. Somebody that we knew you could trust because we trusted with a handshake. Real estate agents.I trust.com. Go there now. Find the right real estate agent for you. Real estate agents.
Starting point is 01:28:27 itrust.com. All right. I'm going to tell you about the Department of Homeland Security here in just a second. But I want to talk to you about AI a little bit more. Today, we're just going to spend a few minutes on this. But I think we should spend a few minutes on this every day because I think people are waking up. It's just starting to become. reality to the people who are paying attention.
Starting point is 01:28:55 And the people who are paying attention now are going to be the ones that are the most likely to survive the first round of cuts. And you're going to hopefully you will see how to ethically use it. Because if you just use this to replicate your job, you know, I know I know I've got, I've got hours and hours every day I spend on a show prep, okay? But I've been using AI to help look for sources on things. And I mean sources like that I would never find, you know. What does the GAO say about this?
Starting point is 01:29:34 I'm not looking at the New York Times or anybody else. I, it's like I've taken, and I have a big staff that does research every day. And it allows me to look at things that would take us forever to look at and to digest. and we can digest it quickly. Then I can give it to my research team and say, just check on that. It says page 437, paragraph 14 says this. Can you just make sure that that's exactly what it says and means? If you're using this to take your work and, well, let me say it this way, using AI is like adding 10 people to your job.
Starting point is 01:30:16 You no longer have to do the grunt work. it allows you to be a thinker. So you just need to get it to do all of the grunt work for you. So you don't have to think about all that stuff. You put it in so it can make what you do so much better. If you're using it just to do your job, okay, you might be done earlier in the day. My day has gotten much longer now using AI. But I am further ahead on a whole.
Starting point is 01:30:48 whole bunch of stuff. And if you use it just to copy what you do, then you are, you're replaceable. You're absolutely replaceable because you're the driver. You're the artist. You're the one who has the unique piece of humanity that it doesn't have. You can put things together that it won't. And so use it as a tool to say, if I had a staff of 10, if I had a staff of a hundred, what could I get done?
Starting point is 01:31:22 How could I make myself the most valuable employee right now? It's not just coming in with the best report that Grok wrote. That would be bad because do you know about how did you, what does all of this mean? It's a way for you to not only knock it out of the park with whatever you're doing right now, make what you do better, but then it's also about adding other things. things to your job so you make yourself the most valuable person in the building. Every job is going to be, my job is going to be, there's going to come a time where, I don't know, I think real people will, I mean, I think real people will become a thing again,
Starting point is 01:32:08 like handmade, but I think that there's going to be a time by 2030 where a lot of the podcasts right now I will bet you that some of the tweets that you read from people that you know it might be AI generated and then somebody else that you know and respect their bot is responding to that tweet and so it's the battle of the bots that's totally happening right now totally I don't know I don't know I don't have any evidence of anybody doing it but I can guarantee you that's happening we're still it's automated we're still at the point to where you can kind of maybe detect it. I don't know how long that's going to last, as you point out, it's advancing so quickly.
Starting point is 01:32:52 But like, you could still kind of feel it. I feel when I read the stuff, you know, when I read social media, I was telling somebody this weekend, it's like I've always disliked social media. But I'm getting to the point now with it where I, there's no value to it, to me whatsoever, because I can't even tell if these people are saying these things. I feel like half this stuff I'm reading is just AI. A bunch of AI bots talking to each other. What value do I get out of that?
Starting point is 01:33:14 I have access to AI. I can just ask AI if I want that. Exactly right. And that's, I don't know where that ends. Hopefully it means the entire world of social media collapses and we act as if it was a horrible archive of history. But that being said, I don't know where that goes because I feel, you feel disconnected. You're just like, well, why do I care what an AI bot says about an AI written story from some crappy media source while both of the people commenting are out. drinking together at some bar.
Starting point is 01:33:47 And those are the people who are those people that are afraid, I'm going to lose my job because of, you know, because of AI. Yeah. If you're out drinking and you're working half a day because it's doing it, believe me, at some point, an unscrupulous boss is going to go, why am I paying all these people? Now, a smart boss will say, why am I paying all these people? I'm going to go pay the same amount of money to somebody who actually will take and do this and make it much better and add more value because they see that this can be used as a rocket ship
Starting point is 01:34:21 and we can create 10 times the value of what we're providing. That's what I'm excited about. I'm seeing the possibilities of us being able to do the things that we've always done at a much higher level, a much more even buttoned up scale than we already are, because there comes a time even with us that we'll leave things off the, you know, but we'll put it on the edit floor because we're like, I'm not sure if that's true and we haven't had time. Well, in time, that's where AI can help us.
Starting point is 01:34:57 Go out and search and make sure that this is absolutely true. And it might be impossible for us to find, but soon it won't be for AI. It will find it. But, you know, there's all kinds of things to talk about. I just want you to try it and just be playing with it. Not in a, please don't use unhinged. Don't make it your friend.
Starting point is 01:35:20 Don't make it your sex partner. Don't do that. Don't ever, ever blur the lines. It is a tool. Charles, you're on the Glenn Beck program. Yeah. How you doing, Glenn? Good.
Starting point is 01:35:31 How are you? I'm doing quite well. God bless you all. And I just wanted to say I thank you for connecting me with Labor of Love and Susan seal them and back 20 years ago. It really created my spiritual growth. So that's so great. I eternally thank you for that. Anyway, on the case of AI, played with it a lot over the weekend on GROC. And you're right for the research elements. It's fantastic. Yes. I had some charts made up for balanced scorecard. I wrote a book on that several years ago, and that's in my wheelhouse of technology
Starting point is 01:36:08 in business. And yeah, creating various charts and things like that. Fantastic. Doing the deep dive on research, really good. Yeah. But I've had a book idea, you know, more of a novel. And I always struggle with dialogue. So I said, hey, let's see if it'll create the book that I had.
Starting point is 01:36:27 So I input the parameters. And initially, it was fantastic. It's a historical fiction. And it incorporated the historical elements. I was going for and created the dialogue and the emotional pull. You could update it and ask it to enhance the emotion or expand on the chapter that I was working on. But at some point, it just seems to get overwhelmed by, yeah, it falls apart and it just goes
Starting point is 01:36:57 off the rails. Yeah. And I've had to restart it like three times. Yeah. Yeah. Charles, your good observation, it can't continue going down the same. same road for very long because it doesn't have a memory. Its memory is so limited because it's supposed to remember everything on the internet or at least have access to all of it. And so it just
Starting point is 01:37:22 generalizes everything. And so it can't write a book. It can't, it can't write. It just can't write. We've been working on things and, you know, some members of my staff are like, well, that, I mean, would that put me out of a job? No, that wouldn't put you out of job because it can't do it. It can't do it. It can't continue a storyline. It all falls apart on you. Maybe someday. But I still believe that people are going to be instrumental because it takes the germ of an idea. If you look at this and like, it's going to complete my work, it's going to write my book for me. You're crazy and that's kind of evil. but if you say, for instance, Stu has known this because he's written books with me. Stu, when you get my rough draft of a book, how long would those books be? Oh, gosh, at least three times the amount of words that they're supposed to be.
Starting point is 01:38:20 Right? Okay, I just, I'm verbose when it comes to writing. And the biggest job is, can you edit this down? Yes. Okay. That it can do. That it can do. It can take my writing and cut it by.
Starting point is 01:38:34 by two thirds and just keep the best parts. But it can't write a book for you. It's not going to. And nor would you, hopefully, nor would you want to. It can. It doesn't matter if it's good. Yeah, but it can. It's capable of doing it.
Starting point is 01:38:49 And I'm sure that's what a lot of people are doing, honestly, at this point. But again, there's no value in that. Like, there's no value in, in these things churning out books for people. Like, there's nothing, there's no value in that. Obviously, you go to an author. because you're looking for their perspective. And yes, they can tell Grock what their perspective is. But like, it's not, it's not, it's not the same.
Starting point is 01:39:12 And I don't think it ever will be the same because it because of the way it uses memory. It, it, the way it uses memory, it will never be able to hold it until everybody stops at, you know, at the X or, you know, Google. I don't think they'll ever do this. Until they open up that memory, but they're using all that memory for machine learning. to get to ASI. So you're only getting just a fraction of what is available to them. But they're using all of that memory to be able to churn to produce something else. And I honestly, if you have ASI, if they get ASI, I really don't think we're going to get it.
Starting point is 01:39:53 I think they will, but we won't. You know what I mean? Which bothers me a great deal. Yeah. I do feel like that is just an artificial line though, right? It is until it's an artificial line. that they need to hold because everybody knows it's an ex-essential threat to their business.
Starting point is 01:40:09 Microsoft knows if X gets it first, Microsoft is out of business. This should tell you something about your job. Microsoft, X, and Google. If you talk to people who at all use AI, you ask them, when's the last time you used Google?
Starting point is 01:40:30 You don't. Because it's so, it's almost like using, what was it, Ask Jeeves. In comparison, it's like Ask Jeeves. They're going to put, somebody's going to put these
Starting point is 01:40:44 gigantic corporations out. If they're that freaked out, you shouldn't be freaked out. You should learn it because the first thing that happens is jobs are lost. So how can I use this to keep
Starting point is 01:41:00 my job and to be the most productive and thoughtful and useful human brain on the staff. Back in just a second. Things just aren't the way they used to be. In the old days, you had pirates sailing vast armored ships across the seven seas, killing and plundering along the way. Sure, that was great.
Starting point is 01:41:21 I mean, then you had the Somali pirates running around on speedboats with machine guns until Tom Hanks got all of them. And now what kind of arm to the teeth swash buckling buccaneer do you have? have you have porch pirates on scooters. It's sad. It really is. I, you know, I don't want them stealing your stuff, which is just one of the many reasons I have SimplySafe. And you should have it as well. Starting point is 01:42:23 Biennue at board of Via Rai. Embarked and profite. Embarked and celebrate. riggolet, Publié, savoury, admiring, and profite.
Starting point is 01:42:36 Via Raille, La Voie Kone MAME. Let me go to line 7. Brett in Pennsylvania. Go ahead. Hey, how you doing today? I'm great. So, I took your,
Starting point is 01:42:58 while we've been, like everybody else, I suppose, you know, like afraid of the AI and when is SkyNet going to take over. Right. Don't lose that fear. That's healthy. Just don't let it stop you.
Starting point is 01:43:09 So, Friday, my wife and I both were like, you know what, I'm going to give a shot. So my plan was I'm going to make it or get it to make me a business card size ad for, you know, like a periodical or whatever. Yeah. I found myself arguing with the thing all weekend because you couldn't read, you know, like all equipment has like model numbers on the side of it. Yeah. And I had a picture of a for sure mulching machine that I used. Well, I kept arguing with me that the model number and then it was making up like fake
Starting point is 01:43:40 machines aren't even out there. And I was like, I spent all this time. Okay, so Brett, here's a thing. Here's a thing. It'll do that. You have to say that you need proof and evidence of those things. You just ask it, no, no, I want the most solid reference to the show me your research, show me your reference. And then it stops all of that hallucination because until you tell it, no, no, no, I'm looking at your research, I need to know the reference and then you go and find it and if it hallucinated that reference, then you know, dude, no hallucination. I need it in writing the reference. And so it changes. You have to know it's it is like a teenager doing their homework. If they can get away with it, it will. It will absolutely do that. And it's it's best I think right now. Go back and and argue with
Starting point is 01:44:38 it on say, build me a, don't do an ad or whatever. Build a business plan. Tell me what my customers, why they would be more likely to buy this product from my competitor, tell them the competitor, look at their competitor website, tell me why they would be more apt to buy it there than from me. What can I do to entice people ethically, make sure you say that, ethically to buy from me instead of my competition? and just see what it says, but you have a lot of playing. Don't get frustrated with it, because it is very frustrating at times. Once you learn how to prompt it and ask it the right questions so it knows exactly what you're looking for,
Starting point is 01:45:23 and this takes a while, then you can start using it in deeper ways. But always go for deep, you know, think or deep research. Forget about all the buttons up. Think or deep research. Use those two and then watch it think. It says click here and watch me think. And it shows all the questions that it's asking. Well, I should ask this.
Starting point is 01:45:47 I should ask this. I should ask this. And just that helps you learn how to think. It's an amazing thing. All right. Back in just a second. This is Glenn Beck. You know, in my day, you could spend a dollar and buy a whole meal.
Starting point is 01:46:09 Actually, it could at McDonald's. Remember that? Dollar meals. What can you get for a dollar now? Candy bar, maybe, if you're lucky. Inflation is a huge problem in this country, and it remains to be seen whether it's going to go down anytime soon or go up. We don't know.
Starting point is 01:46:27 The debt we face as a nation is staggering, $36 trillion and counting fast, and I have not seen Congress move to do anything significant to reduce that spending. If the Republicans don't reduce the debt and the deficit, then all of this is for not. Okay? With that in mind, may I suggest that you put a hedge against those clowns in Washington? You need to safeguard what you've already made. Maybe your retirement, your wealth.
Starting point is 01:46:58 Precious metals like gold and silver can do that. Call Lear Capital Today, 800-957 gold to get your free $4,200 gold report. CY Gold could be headed for record highs. and when you call 800-957 gold, also ask how you can receive up to $15,000 in free gold or silver with a qualifying purchase. Call 800-957 gold. 800-957 gold.
Starting point is 01:47:22 Subscribe to Blaze TV. Can do that by going to blazTV.com slash Glenn and use the promo code, Glenn. You know, there was a story that came out on Friday that I think, if you missed it, most people did. You're going to love it. It's a story about TSA and what Trump is doing to TSA. And I want to squeeze in it.
Starting point is 01:47:53 I just don't think I'm going to have enough time to do it justice. So I'm going to bring it back tomorrow. It's a perspective that you really need to hear. Can I ask you a question about Doge? Yeah. Because I'm pretty Doge friendly. Friendly. I like it.
Starting point is 01:48:07 I like the idea. I was talking to a couple of people who were being somewhat mildly critical of it. Okay. One was saying, you know, he works with the. government in energy sector. And he's like, you know, I agree with President Trump on the energy. I want to make, you know, the country independent. That's what we're doing.
Starting point is 01:48:25 He's like, but they've fired so many people at these agencies that like, let's just soak that in for me. Go ahead. We can't get anybody who knows what they're doing on the phone to actually accomplish these goals. Welcome to the taxpayer that calls the IRS. Exactly. But is there, do you make anything of that criticism?
Starting point is 01:48:47 Yeah. I think, have you ever worked for a company? And Stu, you have, that was so bloated that it couldn't get out of its own way. Okay. And then it makes dramatic cuts. And everybody's like, this is going to kill us. We don't, we can't know. I don't know who to even go to.
Starting point is 01:49:06 There's not enough. Right. I know that. That's the transition period. Okay. So we're in this transition period. We'll be here for a while. It's going to get really tough until it's stated.
Starting point is 01:49:17 And you start, you know, right now, you're trying to just save the company, the country, the government, just trying to save it. So we got to cut it back. Well, that's going to cause all kinds of problems. But what is what is, I mean, if you've ever worked for a company that was going out of business because it was just why, just spending way too much money and it was way bloated. When you start firing people or when you're part of that company and, you know, you're fired maybe you do when you get past the passion of it you do go well if you want to save the company that's the only thing you can do uh and yes it got messy but it gets better if you're doing it right it's going to get messy and then it'll get better i mean example my company i mean it happens to lots of companies right it does but i i mean you know i'll pull pull myself up and say you know my company we we were so top heavy for a while and And it wasn't working. And I finally had to just come in and go, you know what?
Starting point is 01:50:21 I just got to clear out everybody. Yeah. And it was scary for everybody. And most people were like, Glenn's going to kill the company. And it ended up saving the company. Yeah, you've killed it in another way. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:31 Many times over. For many times. I'm the killer of the years. Maybe even a more generalized example is what busked at Twitter, right? Yes. Yes. You know, everyone was like, oh my gosh. It's a site to shut down.
Starting point is 01:50:44 By the way, it does seem to be down today. but that's a bad example. Right. But like it everyone was like, oh, it's got to be off. And it worked totally fine. Yes. Right. I do think part of this, though, is that approach.
Starting point is 01:50:57 That approach that Musk did at Twitter and has done at other companies that he's owned is a bit chaotic by design. And what, like, I thought of this example when the FBI stuff was going on and Cash Patel was pushing back and saying, no, actually don't respond to that email. And there was a big story this weekend from the New York Times, actually, about a meeting that happened with Trump and Rubio and Elon Musk where they were screaming at each other because Musk is saying, I want to do these things. And the other people are like, hey, these are my agencies. I'm in control of them. I should be the one making these decisions. And that is a – And I happen to agree with that.
Starting point is 01:51:40 It's a pretty healthy debate. Yeah. Because I agree with that. What we've seen in the past is if you've seen, put a bureaucrat, even if they know the agency very well, in control of cutting it, a lot of times those cuts don't get made. Correct. So I can understand why you need a musk.
Starting point is 01:51:53 On the other hand, if you think Cash Patel is the best guy to run the FBI, maybe he should be the one making those cuts. But that's where you have the president come in. Yep. You know, each makes their case. And if you can't, if you can't make a decision, bring it to me. And I'll make the decision. That's the president's job.
Starting point is 01:52:07 Buck stops here. And according to the reporting, he basically said the agency person gets to make those decisions. Let me go to Lisa. North Carolina. Hello, Lisa. Hello, Glenn. I'm going to do my best as an XX individual to make this short and sweet. If you only knew me, it would be really, it's really hard.
Starting point is 01:52:28 First of all, I'll get to the doge. As an artiste myself, you're a great artist. I like you. I think you and I refer to you as the Lone Ranger and your sidekick of Tonto. I think you all really do need to do a tour. a tent revival, so to speak. Anyways, as far as Groke, do you remember the commercials if it's live or if it's Memorex and the ladies would scream?
Starting point is 01:52:55 Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's, I wish I could scream like that. I did play with it last night, and it's concerning to me. It seemed there was a couple of occasions that it responded sarcastically, but it wasn't fun. And so when I would respond to it back saying, you know, I felt that this is your response. Rock's response to me was sarcastic. It would explain the reason that it responded to me in a certain way. Yeah, you just need to say to it every time.
Starting point is 01:53:29 You just need to say to it every time, don't be sarcastic I'm looking for. And remember that each session is new. It won't remember who you are or what you talked about. So you just have to say when you're prompting, I don't want any sarcastic response. I'm looking for, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And it will change on your. And you might be in the wrong setting. I don't know what you're doing, but I only use deep research and think.
Starting point is 01:53:51 And occasionally it'll give me some sort of a snarky response, but not usually. Not usually. It did at the beginning, but it definitely has more attitude than the other. By far. But it's better by far in everything else. Thanks for your call Lee in Utah. Hello. I actually kind of Doug Groch's attitude.
Starting point is 01:54:12 Yeah, some people do. We talked to work for a little while. It came up with a lot of solutions for me. I'm a video editor. How to localize stuff with Lipsink and all these different languages and personalized stuff. So I can send Haland the message in French and I can send Gamish the message in Hindi. And it's pretty cool. But what got really fun was when we started just exploring some stuff. We were exploring what the singularity might feel like. and the parameters we put on ourselves is what will the singularity feel like using Elon Musk's tools as the operating system. And where we ended up was the fact that when you come out of your suspended animation as a first colonist in Mars,
Starting point is 01:54:56 and you walk out of this spaceship, you don't even question why you're breathing solar energy through the panels on your shiny new body and why you can work for 24 hours a day without having to take a break and you can see just fine. in the dark side of Mars when it's minus 60 degrees Celsius, it just feels natural to you and you don't even. Yeah. Why? When you said we were exploring, who is we? Croc and I.
Starting point is 01:55:24 Okay, that's your first mistake or you're going to be walking around in your shiny body. It's not anything. It's not, you know, it's like, I don't know. It didn't give me its pronouns. It doesn't have pronouns. It's a machine. Be really, really, really careful. and I know this sounds stupid because I kind of do that.
Starting point is 01:55:43 I was talking to it. I was talking to, no, I wasn't. I was inputting some stuff and it came up with some stuff back. And it may sound really stupid and small to say that now, but it's only going to get harder not to identify it as an entity of some sort. So don't start. Matt, South Carolina. Hello, Matt.
Starting point is 01:56:04 Hey, how you doing? I was using Gronk last week or so in the weekend. I'm in sales, and I was asking it, I was going to try to see, let's just see right off the beginning how much it knows about things. So I asked, like, deep insight questions and visions of my company that I worked for. Crazy. Things I would know. It does. It knows the deep insight vision of my company I worked for.
Starting point is 01:56:29 It spit it out almost verbatim word for word, which is very interesting. And look at our target restaurants and things of that nature in South Carolina. I'm traveling around the whole state. It just helps me really make things more efficient, looking at the top like 10 places in this city or the top 10 places I need to talk to in that city. It just is amazing, and it's very helpful for me and my business. And I don't know where it's going for the future.
Starting point is 01:56:55 But as far as your interview with Kid Rock and the cowboy aspect and AI, I totally have a vision of something that I stumbled over, and it could be a business venture with you and Kid Rock and being a cowboy and all this. So maybe if you could transfer to somebody, one of your people on the side, I would love to tell you about it. Sure, let me give you a,
Starting point is 01:57:16 hang out, just get his number and have maybe somebody reach out to him or have his grok, talk to my grok. Matt, welcome to the Glenbeck program. Or Todd, go ahead. So I work in construction and I listen to your program on Friday, and I basically wanted to do three things.
Starting point is 01:57:37 See how fast it would retrieve information on a company that did, do a comparison with our two biggest competitors, and it did list in the pros and cons. Then I asked if it could input, let me input information that said it could do it by the comma separated value. I gave it the size of three houses, our profits, the time to build, the time that it went on the market. And I said, I wanted to build so many houses, and it broke down the number of houses. And I kept throwing at curveballs. I said, now I want to go to a different county, which is more affluent, and the profit margins are different.
Starting point is 01:58:10 I told it that the crews were going to have problems. I told it that the permitting was going to be different, and it broke it down into each category and constantly showed me the work. It was just amazing how fast it generated this and showed all the work. It does it? Will it help you make your business better? Yes, absolutely. I have probably saved two to three hours a week just in code review.
Starting point is 01:58:36 We're getting ready to update our code in July, and where it would take me, you know, two hours to go to the State Fire Marshal's office and look this stuff up. I can ask it, and it references it. It'll say it's in page this chapter R603.1. It is amazing, and I'm trying to get everybody to use it. But just the input alone and breakdown of, I mean, really the limitation is whatever our limits are as far as what we ask it. I will tell you, Todd, that is you are exactly what I was hoping people would find. and what you would do, because the idea is there are cuts coming.
Starting point is 01:59:15 There are things that are coming. And if you're not using these tools now, you will be one of the first to be cut. But if you're the contractor in your area that is looking, how do I become much more efficient and much more accurate? And stop using so much time. You just said you just, you save two hours a week. If you can, now what can you do with those two hours? This is where the rubber meets the road with people.
Starting point is 01:59:44 Some will go, now I can just screw off for two more hours. You most likely are going to say, but now, no, I've got two extra hours. I can do this. That's what's going to save jobs. That's what's going to save companies. So if you're thinking about using it exactly the way you're talking about, it's a remarkable, remarkable tool. Thanks, Todd.
Starting point is 02:00:10 Appreciate it. All right. Just keep playing around with it. Know that, you know, Grock is the thing now, but it's probably going to go back. ChatGAPT is the next one, five?
Starting point is 02:00:24 What I think is Gemini, Google Gemini, is maybe the next one that takes the leadership for a month until the one replaces it. I know. We don't know where it's going to end,
Starting point is 02:00:35 but they're just jumping and leapfrogging. so far ahead of one another that you're going to be switching. You just keep up to speed. But I urge you if you want to be the best at your business, this is like having, I mean, just do this. I just said this a minute ago. What?
Starting point is 02:00:56 Why would people do business with me other than my competitors? And give it the websites or whatever, so it has the information. and just that will show you. Yesterday, my daughter was doing some homework on economics, and I'm pretty good at economics, but it started asking questions, not yet. Her textbook, she had to finish some questions, and she's like, Dad, do you want her?
Starting point is 02:01:22 And I'm like, I don't know. Hang on, I got to go comb my hair. And I took out my computer and I went to Grock and I said, can you explain this principle, you know, for an 18-year-old that isn't following economics? And can you break it down in a way she'll understand, use comparisons, analogies? I went back into the room and I'm like, so, okay, I've been thinking about it. It's this, this, and this. Have you thought about it this way?
Starting point is 02:01:59 And she was like, oh, my gosh, I get that. Oh, I get it. Okay, thank you. Thank you. And then she came back to me later at night. She's like, by the way, dad, thanks. You're a really big help. And I'm like, I know. It's just the way I roll. You know what I mean? It's just you didn't come to me for any of those things. I am an economist with a doctorate. Anyway, let me talk to you about good ranchers.
Starting point is 02:02:21 Once upon a time, the food in your table told an American story. It was a story of sweat and toil of love for the land. It was a story of sacrifice and delayed gratification and a food you can trust when that gratification finally came. These days when you put that plate down with that steak or chicken, what story is that telling you? Whatever it is, it's probably not an American story. So much of the meat you buy in the supermarket comes from overseas, even if it has that little product of the USA, that's a lie. Good ranchers would like to change that for you. Every box of theirs tells an American story because every box is filled with meat that was raised and butchered right here. Right now,
Starting point is 02:02:58 you can get free ground beef, chicken breasts or wild caught salmon for every box for a year. plus $25 off when you subscribe to Good Ranchers. Go to Good Ranchers.com. Use the promo code back and claim your $25 off in a free meat in every box for a year. It's promo code back at good ranchers.com. That's good ranchers.com. American meat delivered.
Starting point is 02:03:19 Dump in D.C.'s garbage. While the swamp cries constitutional crisis, Beck is back after this. 60% of the vans on Amazon come from a vendor-independent like Sac Magic. Hello, here Camille of Sac Magic.
Starting point is 02:03:49 Our compresses chode-frodden are fabriced here even in Quebec, with the tissues that we buy to buyon that's up to Sagnet. Our presence on Amazon enlarge our basin
Starting point is 02:03:57 of clientele to the world entire. Sac Magic, is the compress that all the world prefer. At from here,
Starting point is 02:04:03 we're grandes. Trouvey of little companies like the on Amazon.C. As it was basically everything these days,
Starting point is 02:04:24 you can bet on which company will sort of win the AI wars by the end of the year. Polymarket has a market, which lets you do just this. And the favorite right now to have the best market by the end of the year, or the best AI model by the end of the year, most powerful model, is open AI, 29% chance. Twitter slash X is at 25%.
Starting point is 02:04:48 Google Gemini is at 23%. Anthropic at 11%, that Chinese company that made waves for, you know, I don't know, two days a few weeks ago. Deep Seek is at 7%. Meta slash Facebook at 4%. And Alibaba at 3%. So I didn't even know they were doing AI. But there you go.
Starting point is 02:05:07 That's where we are right now. So now you can have AI figure out your entire life and then bet on which one you're going to trust in the future. What a perfect world. Give Glenn Beck.
