Starting point is 00:02:00 Here is the deputy premier of New South. South Wales on vaccines. The message to the unvaccinated is that you will not achieve any further freedom unless you get vaccinated. And a further and final message to regional New South Wales. There are parts of regional New South Wales that are currently open. The 70% roadmap does apply that a whole state. So there will be individuals in regional rural New South Wales who choose not to be vaccinated
Starting point is 00:02:25 who will lose their freedoms on the 11th of October. So my message to everybody in regional and rural New South Wales is to continue to get vaccinated. There's new freedoms coming for those who are vaccinated new freedoms. But if you're not vaccinated, you lose your freedom. Sayeth the Lord. Wow. It's not like we're getting militant about things here at all. Oh, speaking of that, we should probably also listen to the New Yorker,
Starting point is 00:02:55 because they've got a new idea. Should we, for the sake of the planet, Start acting violently. I mean, let's be honest, it is about the planet. And there are some people who just won't listen. And we're the scary ones? America, time to wake up. Listen to the New Yorker in 60 seconds.

But if you're an Uber driver, what happens when your car breaks down, huh? If it's out of warranty, if it's expired, you're going to be spending a lot of money to get from point A to point B. Kind of an important thing. For recovered repairs, Car Shield is absolutely the best. They take care of your repair with your torch of mechanic.

Starting point is 00:04:30 It's CarShield.com slash back. A deductible may apply. right yeah all right so you're going to lose your freedom if you are in Australia if you don't get vaccinated you're going to lose your freedom that's great for Australia here's the here's the problem in America we have this little thing called the Declaration of Independence and governments are instituted among men to protect those freedoms and when a government becomes hostile to those freedoms, it is the people's right and it is their duty to throw off the chains of that and create a new government that is not hostile to those freedoms. So in other words,
Starting point is 00:05:25 you can't break away because you want to have slavery. But I think it's pretty clear you can break away if you want to just live by the Constitution and the Declaration of independence because the old government started forgetting about the whole freedom thing. Well, I hate to even say that because people are going to say, he's advocating violence. He's saying we should go into a civil war, which I'm not saying at all. Oh my gosh, these people on the right, they're so dangerous. I know. Let's do something, let's do something safe, shall we?
Starting point is 00:06:06 Let's just read the New Yorker. and listen to their podcast. Because they talk about books and things like that. And they had Andreas Malm on, who is really great. I just want you to listen. Here's cut one. Andreas Malm is a professor at Lund University in Sweden. He studies the relationship between climate change and capitalism.
Starting point is 00:06:29 And he advocates for far more drastic action that we've seen so far. His recent book, How to Blow Up a Pipeline, is a bit more nuanced than the title suggests, but at its core, he really does want environmental activists to rethink their commitment to nonviolence and embrace tactics of sabotage. Stop, just a second. Let me, let me get this straight. So, Stu, I believe we have to discuss this like this. I believe when he says it's more nuanced than the title really kind of leads you to believe
Starting point is 00:07:02 how to blow up a pipeline, it doesn't sound like it really does. that it is more nuanced because he then just went and said, but it's more nuanced than, you know, the title would seem. But he really does want people to think about, you know, dumping the non-violence thing. Well, Glenn, the nuance that's associated with the title, how to blow up a pipeline just, of course, indicates that there are far more things that you can blow up.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Oh, not just a pipeline. You could blow up a pipeline. Thank you. A tanker ship. I can see things more clearly now that you speak like this. You could blow up a bunch of school children who exhale CO2. All these things are options for the future of environmentalism. Thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Back to the podcast. I spoke with Andreas Mom last week. Andreas, you've been a climate activist now for a long time. And in 2007, you were part of a Swedish group that started deflating the tires. on SUVs. Tell me about that. What was the impulse and how did it work? Yeah, so what we did was we went through rich neighborhoods and picked out SUVs. This was in the early career of SUVs when they were still remarkable on streets. Before they were 12.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Completely ubiquitous. And it's very easy to deflate the tires of a car. You just unscrew the valve and you insert a little gravel or a piece of stone or something like that, and you screw the vault back on, and then the air will be out of the tire in a couple of hours. So this was not proper destruction. It didn't damage anything. It created an inconvenience for the owners of SUVs. Okay. All right. All right. So this began his journey towards civil disobedience, cut two. What was the moment that you realized that your next book would have to be about targeted sabotage and why? That moment was very much the summer of 2018, which was unprecedented in northern Europe for the wildfires and the drought and the heat wave. And during that summer, I felt panic and desperation, as a lot of people did.
Starting point is 00:09:25 This was the summer that led Greta Thunberg to start her later very famous school strike movement. And that sort of changed the picture because in 2019, all the way up to the outbreak of the pandemic, the climate movement of the global movement, north reached its zenith of mobilization. Really, its peak of popular force out of the streets. So the book became a product of the moment of 2019, but it's also a core for escalation, a call for the movement to diversify its tactics and move away from an exclusive focus on polite, gentle and perfectly peaceful civil disobedience. Right. Okay. So here's the left now in the New Yorker and on the podcast talking about how we, you know, it's not so bad to put rocks into people's airbags with gravel, otherwise known as gravel, and let the air out. It's an inconvenient, sure, but it doesn't do any harm. but then now we really see that we really have to go away from non-violence because it's really not working.
Starting point is 00:10:39 So here he is on blowing up a pipeline. What actions are you recommending for the movement? Well, I am recommending that the movement continues with mass action and civil disobedience, but also opens up for property destruction. So I'm not saying we should stop strikes or square occupations. or demonstrations of the usual kind. I'm all in favor of that, but I do think we need to step up
Starting point is 00:11:06 because so little has changed and so many investments are still being poured into new fossil fuel projects. So I am in favor of destroying machines, property, not harming people. That's a very important distinction. Very important.
Starting point is 00:11:24 And I think property can be destroyed in all manner of ways or it can be neutralized in a very gentle fashion as when we deflated the SUVs, or in a more spectacular fashion, as in potentially blowing up a pipeline that's under construction. That's something that people have done.
Starting point is 00:11:39 So you are recommending blowing up a pipeline. You use the phrase intelligence sabotage. What does intelligence sabotage look like in this context? Well, let me give you a very concrete example. Right now, Total, the largest single private company headquartered in France, is constructing what will be the world's longest heated oil pipeline in Uganda and Tanzania. And displacing in that process
Starting point is 00:12:04 about 100,000 farmers all for the sake of carrying even more oil to the world market to pour fuel on the global fire. If people in that region were to attack the construction equipment, blow up
Starting point is 00:12:20 the pipeline before it's completed, I would be all in favour of that. I don't see how that property damage could be considered morally illegitimate given what we know of the consequences of such a project. So the ends justify the means is what he's saying here. Remember, you are the dangerous one. We're just a bunch of journalists at the New Yorker that are just exploring different ideas.
Starting point is 00:12:48 Today's idea, blowing things up and destroying property. Very, very, very different than killing people, of course. You know, nobody was killed in the Capitol. Well, some one person was killed, but that was by a police officer. But police officers in this case are all good and should never be questioned. But the property was destroyed there in the Capitol. And that is completely different than blowing up a pipeline. And Glenn, I will note for the listeners that
Starting point is 00:13:25 machines don't run on their own. The people who show up to work at these facilities are part of the machinery. They are basically parts of the machine. And if they are parts of the machine, they also could be destroyed. And that sounds like a machine to me, quite honestly. Yeah. Working on machines. If they are not there, then these environmental cataclysms will not occur.
Starting point is 00:13:55 So obviously killing people who work for these companies at the site. And honestly, those people wouldn't show up if they were not paid. So the executives of the company are also fair targets. And to be clear, maybe the banks. Well, they fund anyone who works at a bank, I think, would fall street. Wall Street would be a good target. Any shareholder of a company like this, absolutely. What about the companies that provide electricity and water,
Starting point is 00:14:25 to the banks, to these facilities, they are basically guilty. Yeah, they're giving aid and comfort to an enemy. What if we killed all people other than us? Well, I think, I, we don't, we didn't do just a second. We just, I've written out a plan. I've had, yeah, oh, yeah, we've had a plan for how to eliminate people for a long time. Oh, wow. I'm glad you brought this up because, oh, thank you.
Starting point is 00:14:50 I've been carrying this around for so long. And, you know, we all know, wink, wink, wink. nod, we're not going to kill people. Oh, my. That's rich. No, it's not rich. Rich, bad. Oh, I'm sorry. Rich is very, very bad.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Unless we're the ones that are rich. Then it's really, really good. You know what I mean? Here's cut four. And yet climate activist groups like 350.org and extinction rebellion have made clear that nonviolence is central to their approach. Do you think that's been a mistake or a tactical error? Yeah, so I have nothing against the tactics employed by these groups.
Starting point is 00:15:30 I have very often participated in them myself. What I have a problem with is when Extinction Rebellion and people from 350 and elsewhere say that these are the only things that our movement can ever allow itself to engage in. As in, what we are doing is as far as we will ever go. We'll never escalate beyond this. And I think that idea, this dogmatic commitment to non-violence, is based on a faulty history writing or understanding of social struggles over history, because it's based on the idea that the only thing that has ever worked for social movements
Starting point is 00:16:09 is to stay completely peaceful. And that just isn't the case. Most social movements that have struggled against overwhelming odds, against enemies that have been very powerful, have diversified and used a number of different tactics ranging into property destruction and confrontation with the police. You saw this during the uprising after the murder of George Floyd where there was tremendous property destruction
Starting point is 00:16:33 and conquering and burning down police stations in Minneapolis and things like that. That was an integral part of an uprising and brought millions of people into the streets of the U.S. than any other in American history. Wow, that is amazing. It's weird that the left seems to. know that. Wait, I was told earlier. Well, it was largely nonviolent.
Starting point is 00:16:55 Largely nonviolent. Almost, I don't think there was any. Was there violence? What I saw was people that were committed to a cause. By the way, the FCC needs to investigate its own history of racism and examine how its policy choices and actions have harmed black people and other communities of color. Now, this is coming from, uh, this is coming from. this is coming from a left-wing group that is funded by the Center for American Progress
Starting point is 00:17:22 and George Soros's Open Society Foundations. They're wonderful. They're called the free press. You might remember them. But they said, what do we have to do? Do we have to, how many, are we going to have to just shoot Republicans to reclaim our democracy? Now, you might think that that's violent, but it's not being covered in the press at all,
Starting point is 00:17:46 even though that's a letter they wrote to the FCC, are we going to have to shoot Republicans to reclaim our democracy? That is really not so important, okay, because they have a reason to do that. Things are really, really tough. And, you know, they're not just saying, let's shoot Republicans. They're saying, we have to reshape the media,
Starting point is 00:18:13 and that is so important. And if we can't get people to move, then maybe we should shoot Republicans. And it's very nuanced. It's very nuanced. We have been telling people that they're not allowed to have firearms. So how will we be shooting all the Republicans? We'll have. We can have them, right?
Starting point is 00:18:41 Oh, yes, we can have them. Why don't we have them and they can have them? That's right. That's right. That's right. We're part of the elite. I forgot. Yes, okay.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Let me tell you about relief factor. Vanessa, she had an experience with relief factor. She wrote in about it talking about the pain that was diminishing her way of life. She said she was unable to bend over, unable to safely navigate stairs. She was basically in extreme pain throughout most of her body. And what was worse, her chiropractor told her that there really wasn't anything that he could do for her anymore. Thankfully, she heard me talking about relief factor and everything changed. After only a few weeks of taking Relief Factor, Vanessa now can bend over just fine.
Starting point is 00:19:18 She can walk up and downstairs with no problem. She can even pick up her grandchildren. She wasn't able to do that for a long, long time. Vanessa got her life back by taking Relief Factor. I did too. So could you just give it a try. Relief Factor. Developed by doctors, about 70% of the people who try Relief Factor go on to buy more because it works for them.
Starting point is 00:19:41 Try the three-week Quick Start trial pack. for only 1995. Just go to relieffactor.com. That's relieffactor.com or call 800, 583,884. 800, 584 relief factor.com. 10 seconds, station ID. Wow. And we are the dangerous ones. We are the dangerous ones.
Starting point is 00:20:19 By the way, good news, my friends, Biden got his booster shot yesterday. We were all worried about it, wondering when is he going to get it? Cut nine, here he is, getting his booster shot. We have plenty, plenty of opportunities to make sure we get everyone in the world to play our part. He just got it. But not his part in the world. Very hairy arm. How many Americans need to be vaccinated first to go back to normal?
Starting point is 00:20:47 What is the percentage total vaccinations that often is deployed? Well, I think, look. I think we get the vast majority like it's going on in some of the, some industries and some schools, 6, 97, 98%. I think we're going to close. 97 or 98% before we're close.
Starting point is 00:21:12 That's a hell of a goal. Yeah. So is there a stop? Is there an issue with that? He's just asking for 97 or 98% of all people to be vaccinated before we could go back to normal. When your plan revolves around, basically full compliance.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Usually those plants don't work. They don't tend to work. They will. People make decisions on their own. He is losing his patience with people. Yes. And we have now fully seen 50% of the increases of the last two months of vaccination rates have disappeared since he announced the mandate.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Half of the gains of the past two months have disappeared since he announced the mandate, which is a really good thing. If you were one of those people who are thinking, I'd like to get more people vaccinated, this would be the opposite of the result you desire. However, Are you blaming it on him? I don't. You know, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Honestly, when it first started happening, I thought maybe it was a weird Labor Day data quirk. Like, you know, a lot of people, because there's a couple days there where they didn't turn in, you know, really any results from the data and the new vaccinations. But no, it's, ever since he went on television and said, I've losing my patients with you,
Starting point is 00:22:19 our patients is running thin. People have stopped going. to get vaccinated. In large numbers. Wow, why do you think that is, too? I don't know. It seems as if they're acting, almost like their goal is that
Starting point is 00:22:32 everyone gets vaccinated except their political enemies. It's almost like that's what they feel like. It's interesting. And it's almost like Americans are acting like Americans. You're not the boss of me. You're not going to tell me what to do.
Starting point is 00:22:49 Does seem that way a little bit. Maybe he's never had kids. Oh, no, he has. This is the Glennback program. I say maybe he's never had bad kids that act like T. Oh, no, he has. He has. Real estate agents, I trust.com.
Starting point is 00:23:06 How do you find a great agent? Well, I got a, you know, my cousin just started. That's not a great agent. It's not a great agent. So cousins cannot be good real estate agents. Well, no, they can be, but, you know, he just started and he's got something. He just needs, you know, get a good start. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:23:23 No, no, no. Would you take, if you had the money that you have in your house in cash and you were going to invest that someplace, would you listen to somebody who said, you know, my cousin, he's got something going on, you know? No. My cousin just started as a heart surgeon. He's never really done it before, but you would not do that. Why are you taking that big bundle of money and handing it over to somebody who isn't the best?
Starting point is 00:23:51 buying and selling you need the best of the best. Let us help you find them. Real estate agents.itrust.com. We'll steer you to the right people. Real estate agents. I trust.com. I want you to do your own homework on them. It's a free service to you.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Find the best. Real estate agents I trust.com. Head over to blazedtv.com slash glen. The promo code is Glenn for 10 bucks off your subscription to Blaze TV. This is the Glenn Beck program. right now, a senator is just saying, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, listen. There he is. He's fantastic. And this is the beginning of the Senate Armed Service Committee hearing on Afghanistan.
Starting point is 00:24:45 General Millie is going to be testifying today, and we are going to be covering that. He's got some lozzi. You got some splainting to do. What could he possibly tell us? He's spoken to every author in America. that's written a book about the Trump administration. Why does he, what else could he possibly say? He seems to be the main source of every book that's been released in the past year.
Starting point is 00:25:10 He's incredible. He's incredible. He's incredible, too. Like, you think this is not the guy who's going to be continually leaking to the media. Yeah, he's got an answer for the call to China. And Afghanistan. Which has gone very, very well, right, Pat? Yes.
Starting point is 00:25:29 Oh, Afghanistan's gone perfect. it was a was it massively successful it was enormously successful and you couldn't see it as anything other than a success well I don't know how you do it any better you can't you can't you can't do it any better every other war has ended this way exactly exactly the same way in shame and humiliation each and every one of them usually by the losers uh not the one with the military firepower yeah right usually not in this case a little bit of a remix of that situation. Well, I liked Saki over the weekend saying that she was just really tired of Republicans blaming Afghanistan and the border on this administration.
Starting point is 00:26:17 She was just really tired of it. Yeah. I'd be tired of if I were hurt too because everyone's doing it and she has to answer for it all the time. So I'm sure she is tired of it. The problem is, it is their fault. Yeah, so that's a problem. Wow. Wow. Okay, you're just going to go there without hearing Millie. Let's listen to some more Senator Reid here.
Starting point is 00:26:39 Man, he's good. That's really good. You know, the thing about these hearings is they just, all the Senate, they're not actually interested in what the person has to say. Have you noticed that? I really do hate these hearings because it's all pre-written stuff by these senators who just do a speech
Starting point is 00:27:02 and when the person tries to answer the question they just cut them off to get to their next big moment that I guess is going to raise dollars in their next fundraising email they want to have these like little YouTube moments now occasionally we get something out of that I think we've seen like for example Rand Paul be very effective with Anthony Fauci
Starting point is 00:27:18 and these things it's not without not entirely worthless but here you're going to hear basically the Democrats say look how bad Trump was and you're going to say Republicans give their speeches about Millie and how he shouldn't have talked to China. These are both valid, you know,
Starting point is 00:27:36 you can argue whether they're valid points or not, right? But they're valid points for their own sides. The question, do we get, I want stuff from Millie. I want him to be asked questions. I want him, like Rand Paul did, specific questions where, you know, where Fauci answering them gave us something, gave us a better understanding of that situation.
Starting point is 00:27:57 It's a trial. That really was. Yeah. And that's what we want. Right? We want someone who's going to actually ask a question that's going to elicit some sort of response. And the speech itself makes no difference. Right.
Starting point is 00:28:09 And not only elicit a response, but put them on the record one way or another. You know, did you make that phone call? Yes or no? Who did you speak to about it? Who was on the phone call? Did you ever tell the president about that phone call? Yes or no? And we know we made the phone call.
Starting point is 00:28:28 I know, and he's never denied any of this. No. Well, he can't. I mean, we've got him on record. We've got him on, you know, recordings. He's argued, he has responded and said that it wasn't bad, right? He said, of course, he says he didn't do anything bad. Right.
Starting point is 00:28:43 Yeah, he did. Yeah, he did. I mean, first of all, this is what they got general. Oh, yeah, yeah, you did. You should be on there. Yeah, right. I mean, this is what they got General Flynn on. Remember?
Starting point is 00:28:55 Mm-hmm. The Logan Act. because he called and said, look, there's a new administration coming in. Let's not escalate to the point where we can't ratchet things back down. Don't do anything. And he got in trouble for that. How dare him do that? Well, I personally think that one is okay.
Starting point is 00:29:15 He's calling on behalf of the incoming president and saying, let's take a breath here. Just take a breath. Don't do anything until we get into office, you know, because we're going to have a different approach. I think that was very wise of him to do. I mean, that's what they would argue they were doing. That's what Millie would argue. He called up and he said, look, when we know it's crazy right now. Not on behalf of the president. He worked for the president. That's the problem. He is the chief of staff. Right. So it would be okay for the incoming. Yeah, Blinkin to do that. To call up and say, hey, look, things are going to be better in a couple weeks. Correct. Hold on. Correct. Correct. Not for the
Starting point is 00:29:56 who is currently the advisor to the president and telling him that I'll call you if anything bad's going to happen and not telling the president he's making that phone call. Did you hear Woodward's excuse on this by any chance? No. It's interesting because I read the book, Peril, and it is the way conservatives and even in the media, I think this whole Millie China thing has been taken is not how it was presented. in the book. It was presented in the book as a way to illustrate
Starting point is 00:30:30 how bad Trump was. It was not presented in the book as a way to show that Millie was undermining Trump. Correct. It was presented as a way to say, look, Trump was so bad. His General had to call and say, we promise we won't nuke you, China. It's a totally different spin.
Starting point is 00:30:46 So Woodward is saying, like, no, what we were saying was, Trump was a national security threat. And that's why Millie had to do this. I mean, I agree with you, but that's what he's trying to say, which to me is absurd. I mean, they're just trying. It's interesting, they thought it would be taken this way by the media.
Starting point is 00:31:06 And I think even the media at some level has said, you know, this doesn't feel right. You can't just have your generals calling up and doing things that are behind the president's back. Now, they've argued since, oh, there's lots of people on this call. And I talked to Esper and we, you know, not everything goes to the president, but I talk to my superiors. But I think it's pretty weak reasoning here. It's way better when the president himself says to like the president of Russia, hey, after the election, I'm going to have a lot more leeway to do whatever you guys want me to do. So just hang on.
Starting point is 00:31:44 And then that's transmitted back to Vladimir. It's way better when that happens. That's a good point. But the Democrats have this down. They've got the treason aspect down to a real science here. They do. They do. They do. It's great.
Starting point is 00:31:57 I'm wondering how someone justifies that the last president was out of control who brought peace and this one who is breaking all norms internationally in dangerous ways and getting Americans killed, how this one is not somehow or another out of control. Yeah. So it's amazing. He can get away with, and they're still, they still aren't noticing some of the most glaring things about this guy that, I don't know, he's losing his mind. There's another little aspect that they might want to pay attention to sometime in the near future because you're going to have to deal with it. I'm wondering, you know, did you hear the opening of the show today where we played the audio from the New Yorker about how to blow up? Yeah, it sounded like they were interviewing a. terrorist? No, no. He's an environmentalist. I meant an environmentalist. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Terrorist. He just thinks that, you know, because it's so dire, we just have to start blowing up pipelines. That's all they're saying. That's all we're saying. It's very nuanced. It's very nuanced. And that's that's that's totally fine. Yeah. They are they are coming out and saying things that I never thought possible that they would ever say. However, I'm wondering now if Democrats, I mean, the kind of used to live next door to, you know what I mean, and probably still do live next door to, that aren't crazies. Do they see that you're now being spoon-fed environmental terrorism? they're now starting to embrace terrorism.
Starting point is 00:33:56 I don't know. We're so divided. We are so torn apart on every issue that I don't know if there are just normal Democrats anymore. Not very many of them anyway. I mean, they hate the other side so much that they can't see any of this stuff. Well, there has to be because there are many groups that make up the right. There are the people who are just get them. That's a small little fringe group.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Then there are the Trump supporters. Then there are the people who are reluctant Trump supporters and then non-Trump supporters. You know, the right is broken up and fragmented. Are you saying it's just one lockstep Democratic Party? It does feel like it because you never hear anybody speak out against it. It does feel like that. But I think sometimes I notice this with vaccines a lot, right? like, who are the people that get highlighted?
Starting point is 00:34:51 You get the people who are like, you have the vaccine or you go to prison on one side. And then you have the people who are like, I don't want your fancy medicine on the other. And it's like, I don't know. You talk to people about it. And people are like, yeah, you know, I don't know. I'm a little, I don't really want to get it.
Starting point is 00:35:06 I don't like getting shots. I don't want the side effects. Right. And then you talk to the other people on the other side. Like, you know, I think it's a good idea. But if you don't want to get it, you know, whatever, what are we going to do? Like, I think that's most people in reality.
Starting point is 00:35:16 on the internet in in in in the media those people never get highlighted but like I don't know when I have conversations with people about this stuff they're not insane they don't they don't sound like they tweet and I don't know if that's just a function of social media or what you know gets clicks online or what but it definitely does seem different you know I I mean there are there are definitely people I know but we live in Texas yeah no that's true but I have it different I have a lot of people friends who live around the country. And we've lived in every city, basically. We're in radio, so we've moved 46,000 times.
Starting point is 00:35:53 And when I talk to people, there are some people I know who are like, like, hate Donald Trump with such a passion that no matter what is associated with him, they will, you know, revolt against it and say he's the worst person in the world. But like, I also know people who voted for Joe Biden, who are just like, I don't know. I mean, like, you know, it just seemed like he was a better, I don't know, Trump is seems like he's out of control, but whatever. Like, there's not like, not everyone has that. I think people do live their own lives.
Starting point is 00:36:21 They do actually, like, care. And a lot of these people, by the way, are very getable on things like CRT. You know, people, they might totally hate Donald Trump. And I think the vaccine too. And Afghanistan. Yeah, in Afghanistan in particular. Afghanistan's the one that I think we're closest on. I haven't met one person who has defended what happened in Afghanistan,
Starting point is 00:36:43 including all my most liberal friends. none of them say it was acceptable, let alone incredibly successful or whatever the terminology they used was. I haven't met anybody. I don't think there's a soul. I don't think there's anybody inside the Biden administration who thinks that went well. Hang on just a second. The general is now speaking. We want to give you an opportunity to have opening statements.
Starting point is 00:37:08 Okay, we're going to skip those opening statements because they're going to be great. Back with more in just a second. Let me tell you about life lock. Back in the good old days, a man wanted to rob you blind, he'd beat the crap out of you in a dark alley somewhere. He had integrity. Times are simpler in the back alley when they stole your wallet. Starting point is 00:38:56 situation on the ground and an active credible and lethal terrorist threat in a span of just two days from the 13th to the 13th of August. So we're not hearing from Millie. We're hearing from Austin. We went from working alongside a democratically elected long-time partner government to coordinating warily with a long-time enemy. We operated in a deeply dangerous environment. Wow. And it proved a lesson in pragmatism and professionalism. We learned a lot of other lessons, too, about how to turn an Air Force base in Qatar to an international airport overnight. Why would you have to do that? About how to rapidly
Starting point is 00:39:35 screen, process, and manifest large numbers of people. Why? Nothing like this has ever been done before and no other military in the world could have pulled it off, and I think that is crucial. No, everywhere ends like this. Now, I know that members of this committee will have questions on many things, such as
Starting point is 00:39:51 why we turned over Bogram Airfield. Oh, yeah, yeah. How real is our over-the-horizon capability? Oh, that's another good one. And why didn't we start evacuation sooner? Oh, yes, yes. And why didn't we stay longer? to get more people out. Great questions. So let me take each in turn.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Okay, let's see. Retaining Bogram would have required putting as many as 5,000 U.S. troops in harm's way just to operate and defend it. And it would have contributed little to the mission that we've been assigned. No. And that was to protect and defend
Starting point is 00:40:19 the embassy, which was some 30 miles away. But the problem was the assignment. That's what everyone... The distance from Kabul also rendered Bogram of little value in the evacuation. Staying at Bogram, even for counterterrorism purposes, meant staying at war in Afghanistan. No.
Starting point is 00:40:33 Something that the president made clear that he would not do. Right, that's the problem. As for over the horizon operations, when we use that term, we refer to assets and target analysis that come from outside the country in which the operation occurs.
Starting point is 00:40:49 These are effective and fairly common operations. This is how you hit the people delivering water. We conducted one such strike in Syria, eliminating a senior al-Qaeda figure. Yeah, the high-value target. value targets. The kids that were delivering water. But absolutely possible.
Starting point is 00:41:05 It's possible. And the intelligence that supports them comes from a variety of sources. Okay. Are they the same sources that told you that those kids delivering water were the ones you should bomb? Yeah, because the nice thing about that one, Glenn, was that the kids were really excited to see their dad. So they all ran out to the car to greet him. And that's when the car blew up. Oh, that is so sweet.
Starting point is 00:41:27 But we have those over the Verizon capabilities. This is the Glenn Beck program. Thank you so much. I want to talk to a little bit about the covenant. It's about the Old Testament. In fact, you know, Hollywood has made a whole bunch of Old Testament movies. They've made biblical movies, and they always change the story. The Covenant is something that will be a multi-season TV series adaptation of the stories of the Old Testament.
Starting point is 00:41:53 It's written by Andrew Claven, who is a great writer and a good friend, and respects the honest depiction. of the Bible. If Andrew's involved in it, it's going to be great. It's going to be great. And Cayo Films is producing this series through crowdfunding, which means if you want to see these things made, you believe in the Old Testament, and you believe those things are important to teach back the covenant.
Starting point is 00:42:22 You can have an impact by becoming an investor in a broken world to help bring people back to the stories that are foundational to our lives, our culture, and our society, all you have to do is join them by investing, even if it's five bucks. We're going to hear beyond his opening statement. What was his involvement in Afghanistan? What is his excuse for Afghanistan? Same with General Austin. And what exactly
Starting point is 00:43:46 is he exactly did he do with China? We'll give you the details on that and so much more coming up in 60 seconds. Dan lives in New York and he's a semi-professional bodybuilder. I feel like we have a lot in common, Dan. I'm semi-professional. I've been building my body in different ways, though. Anyway, Dan's been suffering from shoulder pain for quite a while, and due to an injury he's sustained while lifting weights. It was bad enough that he and his doctor were talking about getting a shoulder replacement. Not fun. He kept hearing me talk about relief factor on the radio, began to wonder, hmm, would that work for me? He wasn't especially hopeful, but the prospect of a shoulder replacement didn't sound very fun.
Starting point is 00:44:39 fun. He literally had nothing to lose. Everything in the world to gain. He started taking Relief Factor. He says within a couple of weeks beginning to take it, this pain started to go away. His mobility began to return. Dan got his life back. Didn't have to have surgery. Feel the difference yourself. Relief Factor, not a drug developed by doctors. 70% of the people who try Relief Factor, go on to buy more because it works. Try the three-week Quick Start trial pack for only 1995. Go to Relieffactor.com or call 800, 583,84, 800, 583.84. It's Relieffactor.com, 800, 583.84. Let's see. Let's just take some of the Millie comments here.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Here he is on the Trump revelations, I believe you say that. Issues in the media that are of deep concern to many members on the committee. And with your permission, I'd like to address those for a minute or two. Again, I've submitted memoranda for the committee to take a look at. You may proceed. Mr. Chairman, I've served this nation for 42 years. I've spent years in combat, and I've buried a lot of my troops who died while defending this country. My loyalty to this nation, its people, and the Constitution hasn't changed and will never change, as long as I have a breath to give. My loyalty is absolute, and I will not turn my back on the fallen.
Starting point is 00:46:04 With respect to the Chinese calls, I routinely. communicated with my counterpart, General Lee, with the knowledge and coordination of civilian oversight. I am specifically directed to communicate with the Chinese by Department of Defense guidance, the policy dialogue system. These military-to-military communications at the highest level are critical to the security of the United States in order to de-conflict military actions, manage crisis, and prevent war between great powers that are armed with the world. world's most deadliest weapons. The calls on 30 October and 8th January were coordinated before and after with Secretary Esper and Acting Secretary Miller's staffs and the interagency.
Starting point is 00:46:52 The specific purpose of the October and January calls were generated by concerning intelligence, which caused us to believe the Chinese were worried about an attack on them by the United States. I know, I am certain that President Trump did not intend to attack the Chinese, and it is my directed responsibility, and it was my directed responsibility by the Secretary to convey that intent to the Chinese. My task at that time was to de-escalate. My message again was consistent. Stay calm, steady, to de-escalate.
Starting point is 00:47:34 We are not going to attack you. At Secretary of Defense Asper's direction, I made a call to General Lee on 30 October. Eight people sat in that call with me, and I read out the call within 30 minutes of the call ending. On 31 December, the Chinese requested another call with me. The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asia-Pacific Policy helped coordinate my call, which was then scheduled for 8 January, and he made a preliminary call on 6th January. 11 people attended that call with me, and readouts of this call were distributed to the interagency that same day. Shortly after my call ended with General Lee, I personally informed both Secretary of State Pompeo
Starting point is 00:48:20 and White House Chief of Staff Meadows about the call, among other topics. Soon after that, I attended a meeting with Acting Secretary Miller where I briefed him on the call. Later that same day on 8 January, Speaker of the House Pelosi, called me to inquire about the President's ability to launch nuclear weapons. I sought to assure her that nuclear launch is governed by a very specific and deliberate process. She was concerned and made various personal references characterizing the President. I explained to her that the President is the sole nuclear launch authority and he doesn't launch them alone, and that I am not qualified to determine the mental health of the President of the United States.
Starting point is 00:49:10 There are processes, protocols, and procedures in place, and I repeatedly assured her that there is no chance of an illegal, unauthorized, or accidental launch. By presidential directive and Secretary of Defense Directives, the Chairman is part of the process to ensure the President is fully informed when determining the use of the world's deadliest weapons. By law, I am not in the chain of command, and I know that. However, by Presidential Directive and DoD instruction, I am in the chain of communication to fulfill my legal, statutory role as the President's primary military advisor. After the Speaker Pelosi call, I convened a short meeting in my office with key members
Starting point is 00:49:55 of my staff to refresh all of us on the procedures which we practice daily at the action officer level. Additionally, I immediately informed acting Secretary of Secretary of Speaker Pelosi's phone call. At no time, was I attempting to change or influence the process, usurp authority, or insert myself in the chain of command. But I am expected. I am required to give my advice and ensure that the President is fully informed on military matters. I'm submitting for the record a more detailed and unclassified memorander that I believe you all now have, although late. And I welcome a thorough walkthrough on every single one of these events.
Starting point is 00:50:38 All right. So, Steve, give me the, because that's not really how it's portrayed in the book, is it? Yeah, a couple different incidents here. On the China call, the book does indicate that he called China and tried to de-escalate. The impression you get for the book is that they had intelligence. that the Chinese were worried about this. So how did they acquire that, some sort of espionage or whatever,
Starting point is 00:51:07 that they thought that they were worried about us attacking because they saw the unrest here. And they don't, you know, the Chinese wouldn't necessarily understand that. And he tried to explain to them, oh, this is just the messiness of democracy. It's just the messiness of democracy. But in the book, it's portrayed as a...
Starting point is 00:51:27 They shouldn't have read it as... this is the biggest attack on democracy since the civil war? Yeah, it's odd, very different to spin than we've even heard from Millie. Now, obviously, you could excuse him for lying to the Chinese. I would have no problem with him saying whatever, but I don't know what. My guess is he's lying to us. Yes. However, the book itself portrays it much more like it's a secret call than he's saying here.
Starting point is 00:51:51 There's not all that detail about there's 11 people on and all of that. It's portrayed more as like a, he was so. distraught by the happenings here. Sure. That he had to call to make sure that this was, this, this, this a possibility of an attack was put down. At no point did they indicate, as he mentions there, that he actually believed Trump was going to attack. There's a, they, now there seems to be worried from Pelosi on that. And that's the other part of that call, Pelosi calling him. And he mentions there in his testimony, you know, talking about, how he, you know, look, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:52:30 I have no way of determining. I'm not a medical doctor. Yeah. I'm not a doctor, Jim. He has no way of determining whether the president's mental health is at stake or not. However, in the call, multiple times, he tells Nancy Pelosi that he agrees with everything she's saying and says it. And she's the one saying he's insane, he's crazy.
Starting point is 00:52:54 And they have a transcript, the full transcript in the book. and he replies I don't have the I agree with you but I agree with you on it's like he says something like I agree with you on everything that you're saying we are in 100% agreement
Starting point is 00:53:09 that's a little different than I'm not a doctor fancy I can't comment on that I can't comment on that that's that's for you to say not for me to even and weigh in on now when you read the book
Starting point is 00:53:24 you get the very very strong suspicion, especially if you know anything about Woodward's past writings, that General Millie is a big time source for the book. Many of these conversations are in detail. He's involved in them. And he comes off looking like the hero, which is always how you can tell in a Woodward book, who is the source. Correct. Because he just, you know, he gives them the most positive treatment, which is why he gets people to participate. Because if you don't participate with him, he makes you look like a criminal. So people participate all the time. I mean, even Donald Trump talked to Bob Woodward about one of his books, even though he knew it was going to be a negative book, because if you don't talk to him, they just take everyone else's lies as fact.
Starting point is 00:54:07 So you have to at least attempt to push back. It's a nice little circuitous system. Woodward's got going on with these books. But you get the strong sense that Millie is a source for almost all of this type of intrigue in the book. All right. The leaders are facing questions about the Afghan withdrawal. We want to stay with this. bit today because this is, I mean, this is the worst thing that has happened militarily. I would frame it a little bit differently. I would say you can't call it anything but a success. That's how I would frame it.
Starting point is 00:54:44 Is it? That's how you would frame it? I also have red hair and a dress on right now. You don't have either of those. If I did, if I was Jen Saki, I would say this was anything but a success. Okay. What's interesting about Millie's testimony is as he's beginning the testimonies, we were coming back to the show, he said, it's obvious. The war did not end on the terms we wanted.
Starting point is 00:55:09 Now, I thought it was, you couldn't say it was anything but a success, but now he's saying we didn't, these are not the terms that we wanted. So I don't know, I guess there's some little through way you can come through and make both of those statements make sense. or maybe they were just hoping for failure and then they got a success and that's... Can I tell you? They got a... They have a...
Starting point is 00:55:35 I believe, I actually do believe that there are those that were involved in this that did want a failure. And so this was wildly successful in accomplishing all of the goals that they wanted, which was demoralize America, make people question our our military and also drive a wedge between us and our allies.
Starting point is 00:56:03 If that was your goal, there is no other way to describe this other than a complete success. By the way, I did an interview with General Flynn yesterday, and it's going to be the podcast on Thursday for Blaze TV subscribers. If you haven't subscribed yet, you kind of want to see this one. he had a lot to say about General Millie, which was weird. Are the tight, tight buddies, would you say?
Starting point is 00:56:31 I wouldn't, I wouldn't characterize it that way. No, no, I wouldn't characterize it that way. And he had a lot to say about Afghanistan. Oh, and he had an awful lot to say about the Justice Department. And a lot to say about the media. He had generally a lot to say.
Starting point is 00:56:50 I bet. General Flynn, the first interview with him, that comes up on Thursday, only on Blaze TV back in 60 seconds. You know, all the kids, cool kids are doing, right? I mean, you know, sure, some of them are smoking in the bathroom, but that's not a, that's not, that's not cool kids, that's not cool. That global warming. What the real cool kids do, they're just throwing big slabs of meat onto a rec tech. Yeah, yeah. They're smoking.
Starting point is 00:57:22 They're smoking, but not in the bathroom. You know what I mean? When you want to grill, you want to be using a rec tech. Why? Because it's the manliest thing you've ever thrown a steak on. Honest to God, this is just the best. It's smart grill technology ensures that you're going to get the perfect cooking experience every single time. Rectec monitors its own heat throughout.
Starting point is 00:57:45 Make sure that it stays an even heat adjusting as needed with the outdoor weather. The whole time, you bet. You're inside checking on the app using your smartphone or your device. Cook your stakes the way I do in the great state of Texas, the way God intended it. Cook them on a rec tech so they come up perfect every time. Rec tech, R-E-C-T-E-Q.com. That's rec-tech with a cue, rec-tech.com. 10 seconds, station ID.
Starting point is 00:58:16 Let's go back to General Millie. This is the recommendation of 25-00. Inhoff. What I said on my opening statement and the memoranda that I wrote back in the fall of 2020 remained consistent, and I do agree with that. This committee is unsure as whether or not General Miller's recommendation ever got to the president. You know, obviously there are conversations with the president, but I would like to ask, even though General McKenzie, I think you've all made this statement,
Starting point is 00:58:56 did you talk to the president about General Miller's recommendation? Sir, I was present when that discussion occurred, and I'm confident that the president heard all the recommendations and listened to him very thoughtfully. So one of the recommendations that was made by the three of you would be the recommendation that originally was made by General Miller's two weeks ago. During the August 18th interview on ABC George Stephanophilus asked President Biden, whether you, U.S. troops would stay beyond August 31st if there are still Americans to evacuate. President Biden responded, and this
Starting point is 00:59:39 is a quote, if there's American citizens left, we're going to stay to get them all out. This didn't happen. The President's Biden's decision resulted in all the troops leaving, but the American
Starting point is 00:59:54 citizens are still trying to get out. How many how many American citizens is your opinion are still there just go down the line each one of you
Starting point is 01:00:08 anyone Senator I would defer to the State Department for that for that assessment that's a dynamic process they've been contacting the civilians that are in Afghanistan and again
Starting point is 01:00:28 I would defer to them for definitive numbers Mm-hmm. Go ahead. Here comes General Millie. Just same, as Secretary just said. There were numbers at the beginning of this whole process with the F-77 report out of the embassy, and we know that we took out almost 6,000, I guess it is,
Starting point is 01:00:50 American citizens, but how many remain? Okay, do all of you agree that Secretary of State, Blinken, when he made his analysis as to how many people would be here, but would still be there. He talked about the 10 to 15,000 citizens left behind, and then evacuated some 6,000. That would mean a minimum of 4,000 would still be there now. Would anyone disagree with that by your silence? I assume you agree.
Starting point is 01:01:25 I have no, I don't, I personally don't believe that there are 4,000 American citizens. still left in Afghanistan, but I cannot confirm or deny that, Senator. So you think Secretary of State was probably wrong in his analysis? Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Thank you. And just for the record, the Chair and the Vice-year-slash-slash-ranking member have each abided by the five-minute room. So it's fair. Good analysis there.
Starting point is 01:01:55 Thank you, Mr. Chairman, and thank you, Secretary Austin, General Millie, and General McKenzie for being here this morning. And Secretary Austin and General Millie, thank you for your effort to put into some historical perspective what happened in Afghanistan and for recognizing the incredible service and sacrifice of the troops who served there. Democrats like the military right now. General Millie. In a hearing before the Senate appropriation subcommittee on defense, and you wonder what you're supposed to like or not like today, I explicitly raised concerns about the fight of at risked Afghans due to our withdrawal.
Starting point is 01:02:30 And I ask about the department's plans to evacuate them. Now, you indicated today that you thought we might be facing the kind of desperate situation that we saw in Kabul. But your response at that time was that, quote, lots of planning was ongoing. And this is end quote. And the State Department was leading efforts pertaining to evacuating our Afghan part. partners. And you explicitly told the committee that in your professional opinion, you did not see Saigon, 1975 in Afghanistan. So I'm just trying to figure out why we missed, or from a public perception, it appears that we didn't anticipate the rapid fall of...
Starting point is 01:03:25 Because it wasn't Saigon, 1975. Afghanistan. That was far worse. and the rise of the Taliban and the way we saw it play out on television. In Afghanistan. What did we miss? I think, Senator, we absolutely missed the rapid 11-day collapse of the Afghan military and the collapse of their government. I think there was a lot of-
Starting point is 01:03:50 Can I ask you something, Stu? Did you miss that? Did that sneak up on you? Not at all. I saw it all happening on television, actually. And before, when they just said we're just going to come out and the troops are going to be fine and everybody's going to be great, did you believe that? Or did you have some intel? I had some secret intel.
Starting point is 01:04:12 Secret intel? Because I must have had secret intel because I didn't think that was going to work out at all. I wasn't surprised by the collapse of Afghanistan. American financing NMLS 182334. That seemed like such a good idea at the time. That's the title of the life story of everyone who's ever gotten himself or herself up to their eyeballs in credit card debt. Really, it did. It seemed like a really good time.

Give American financing a call today if this is you. Now, he's in trouble for this because somebody made a video of it and then put some images to it that include the Nazis and they're not happy. So Joe Rogan must pay.
Starting point is 01:06:28 But listen to his words. As soon as you give politicians power, any kind of power that didn't exist previously. If they can figure out a way to force you into carrying something that lets you enter business. or lets you do this or lets businesses open, historically, they are not going to give that power out. They find new reasons to me. I'll be back. We have to protect those freedoms at all cost,
Starting point is 01:06:54 whether you agree with people's choices or not, because it is the foundation that this country was founded on. Freedom. This idea of freedom, there's so many people that think it's frivolous, it's not important, it's not the main thing that we should be focused on, but it is the literal structure that a lot of allows this country to be so amazing. Every single country that's ever existed
Starting point is 01:07:19 other than the United States. Up until 1776, every country that has ever existed was brought by dictators. All of them. This is the first experiment in self-government that actually worked, and he created the greatest superpower
Starting point is 01:07:34 of the world's ever known. It created the greatest cultural machine, the greatest machine of art and creativity and innovation. Right. here. And how did it do that? It did it through freedom. And as soon as you see something, anything that comes along and inhibits your freedom, you should be very cautious about that. It should be very suspicious. Because anything that comes along that can inhibit your freedom
Starting point is 01:07:58 is, by definition, anti-American. Oh, that's horrible, isn't it? That's horrible. Now, why is he in trouble? Why is he in trouble? because he says you know that anybody's trying to take your rights away and as he's saying that images of the Holocaust and that apparently can't be done
Starting point is 01:08:22 right that's their big their big line I guess the group of people that told you that Donald Trump was Adolf Hitler for the past five years now suddenly has problem with Holocaust comparisons that is a
Starting point is 01:08:36 interesting new discovery from the left I don't know how they came across it Wow And by the way, we should point out that Joe Rogan didn't compare No, that at all He that's that's the who the filmmaker who, Who put images to his words
Starting point is 01:08:53 Used some Nazi Nazi Because and a lot of other images too Right, dictators From dictators Dictators and whenever anyone starts to say You know, certain things Those are signs that you're on the wrong path Right.
Starting point is 01:09:09 the wrong path is the best way to put this. Because at the end of the path, if the end of the path is Nazi Germany, you don't take two steps down that path. You don't take five steps down that path. You take zero steps down that path. You avoid the path at all. No one is saying that currently
Starting point is 01:09:29 we are in the middle of murdering millions of people. However, when government takes control, sometimes bad people wind up with the power behind that government and they are able to use those controls against the people. I will give you, for the left, an example of someone that might concern you
Starting point is 01:09:50 with lots and lots of power. His name's Donald Trump. Remember how much? You remember how you were saying he was Hitler? Well, what if he had all of this power? What if you gave him all of that power? What if this person that you've been saying is Adolf Hitler for five years?
Starting point is 01:10:05 what if he had all of this power? How would you feel about it? This is why it doesn't matter about the man. It doesn't matter who the person is. Doesn't matter the party. You limit the country is designed so that no matter how crappy your president is, they can't do those things. Right. No matter how crappy Congress or the Senate or the Supreme Court or anybody.
Starting point is 01:10:29 You can't do it. But it requires all of those people to stand with the Constitution. of the United States. And they're not. And they're not doing it because of their own power and their own money, et cetera, et cetera. Or their own arrogance. They think they know better. And that's where dictators usually start. They just know better than everyone else. And that's what we were designed to stop. And we're the only one designed to stop it. Now, they say, you know, just because it's like a like Hitler doesn't mean it's going to end in the Holocaust. Well, okay, but I don't really think that we should be going down the German road in any way, shape, or form.
Starting point is 01:11:14 Yeah, it may not lead to the ovens, but I don't think I want to even go down that road at all. I mean, maybe we'll have some strutal, but that's as deep into Germany as I care to go. But if you look at the, this was developed by Genocide Watch, along with the United States Department of State, the eight stages of genocide. And here they are. So would you say that we want to go down this road at all, or if we want to make sure that it never happens again, we shouldn't do any of these things? here's step one people are divided into them and us all right well that's been done
Starting point is 01:12:05 that's done okay so step one on our road to the holocaust has already been done step two symbolization when combined with hatred symbols may be forced upon unwilling members of pariah groups to combat symbolization hate symbols can be legally prohibited as hate speech. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:30 Well, I don't think that that star has been sewn on to anybody. I think the hate symbol that has been given by the left is the Make America Great Hat. Anything that identifies you as a Trump supporter, you are now part of a group that it's okay to hate. Would you agree with that? Yeah. I would say that's true. I mean, you look at, I mean, there's a, there was an episode of a curb your enthusiasm from this past year where Larry David decided he didn't want to talk to people. So he wore a MAGA hat so that people wouldn't talk to him. Because he knew no one would want to interact with him if he had it on. I mean, I think that that's obviously a comedic way of telling it. But I think that that's kind of true. I think it is large swaths of the country. Oh yeah. large swaths of the country. The other symbol that is okay to hate is not wearing a mask. If you wear a mask, you're fine.
Starting point is 01:13:34 You can scream at the person. You can scream at the person that's not wearing a mask. Remember we had that whole, you know, punch a Nazi movement for a while there. It's, you know, related to the Antifa stuff where, you know, you see someone who you, quote, unquote, think is a fascist. It's okay to punch them, right? It's okay to attack them because we're anti-fascists. So there is definitely a movement. And a powerful one.
Starting point is 01:13:58 So we're on that road. Yeah, but we're not there. We're not officially assigning a symbol, but the symbols exist. Discrimination is the third one. Law or cultural power. Law or cultural power excludes groups from full civil rights, segregation, or apartheid laws, denial of voting rights. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:22 Well, law or cultural power. We have that. denying groups full civil rights or segregation. We are now in our colleges segregating. We're segregating instead of black people out. We're now segregating white people
Starting point is 01:14:38 out. New York City is most most younger African Americans are not allowed to go into restaurants. Yes. You got it on that direction. So you have multiple places there. I mean, certainly not full civil rights have eroded to that level. But again, do you want to go down
Starting point is 01:14:54 this road? You're being told that their patients is running thin and you will not be able to do things if you don't have the vaccine. They are, that's definitely, again, that's not full civil rights, but there are problems. Right.
Starting point is 01:15:10 Step four, we're halfway to the ovens. We're halfway to the ovens. No. Well, you're saying this is half of this list. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But we haven't done all the things so far on the list. We've done some of them.
Starting point is 01:15:23 We're on the road. Yeah. We're on the road on all of, all of them so far. Right. Four, dehumanization. One group denies the humanity of the other group. Members of it are equated with animals,
Starting point is 01:15:35 vermin, insects, or diseases. Already done. That's done. I don't know that that's... Well, it's done. By some. By some. Like, for example, you watch Jimmy Kimmel the other night saying, like, let the people who are unvaccinated die in the hospitals. Yeah, it's not just Jimmy Kimmel. You have
Starting point is 01:15:51 doctors saying that. You have some. But, I mean, I don't know that that's the entire society. or the entire apparatus of the government saying that, but it is, it's becoming all too popular. Yes. Becoming more popular. Organization.
Starting point is 01:16:06 This is where it, this is where the metal meets the road or the, the, the, uh, the rubber meets the road. Uh, you have terrible tires. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:16:13 you have the first four. And those can be done culturally. Mm-hmm. Or through official means. The four of these have been done culturally. Now you get into organization. Genocide is always organized. Special army units or militias are often trained and armed.
Starting point is 01:16:35 I think we're going through that now with our military being trained on CRT. And, you know, they're out searching for people who are Trump supporters because they're radicals, etc., etc. It's the beginning of it or what could be the beginning of it. Do you disagree with that? I mean, I see what you're saying. I mean, the idea that the emphasis on domestic terrorism is a problem. I mean, does that mean, we have organized militias going after? No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:17:10 I'm not saying that. I'm saying this is the beginning. The training is beginning to see things as parts of the country, however you vote, or if you won't play along with a woke game, you're a problem. You're an extremist. That's the beginning of the training. Then polarization, hate groups broadcast polarizing propaganda. But we're already doing that right now in this program.
Starting point is 01:17:37 That's what we do every day. No, remember, I mean, I think this is coming from, this is aimed at the victim group. And I think that propaganda is coming out already. Preparation, mass killing is planned. Thank God, I don't think that's happening. persecution. That's when people are rounded up and put into ghettos or concentration camps and then extermination. By the way, the 10th step, the perpetrators deny they committed any crime. How hard that must be. You know, we've always seen this and we saw this in Germany.
Starting point is 01:18:18 And we still see this in Germany. There are, you know, people like, well, I didn't have anything. I well no we didn't do anything wrong that was just that was what was going on we didn't know how hard it must be for the people who lived through that and know their new their neighbors did know I mean how many times do we have people denying things like for instance right now the Democrats not anywhere in the scale but the Democrats denying that they were the ones that were holding kids out of school but they were the ones they now claim they were fighting for the schools to be open. It was the evil Republicans that were trying to keep the schools closed. I mean, how do you survive that? How do you, I mean, how do you make that so your brain just
Starting point is 01:19:03 doesn't explode? And I'll say, like, as important it is to warn about these roads, it's also important to note, you know, like, it doesn't. Big things. It does. Things are standing in the way still. Big things. We have a constitutional structure that stops this. We have great people in the military and our police that stopped this. And like, look, I'll be honest, you know, everyday life, that's not, it seems normal. I mean, like, these things escalate slowly, but these problems are problems that you, you get rid of now. Now.
Starting point is 01:19:35 So you don't worry about these bigger problems. Correct. Correct. And as Edwin Black told me, um, these problems we have, this means the Holocaust may never, ever come to America. But it also means that we've done a lot of the work where it could happen tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:19:55 We just have to be aware of when you're polarizing, when you're dividing, when you are excluding people, when you're denying the humanity of people, you are on the same road. And once enough people are convinced of those things,
Starting point is 01:20:11 then the government can make the rest of it happen quickly. Sponsor this. half hour is my pillow. I love sleeping. In fact, it is my favorite thing. You know, you're dead. We're still monitoring the Austin and Millie depositions in front of the Senate. Tom Cotton is asking some questions. Now let's just listen for phone calls. We had thousands of Americans in Afghanistan, behind Taliban lines on August 15th, and it took 10 days to ask these general officers if we should extend our president? I suspect the answer might be a little different
Starting point is 01:22:16 if you were asking them 16 days out, not five days out. Again, my time is limited. I want to move on to another matter. President Biden's botched evacuation screwed things up coming and going as it relates to Afghan evacuees. We left behind thousands of Afghans who served along the side of us
Starting point is 01:22:37 who were vetted and approved to come here. We brought out thousands who really have particular connection about whom we know nothing and cannot be effectively vetted. You now have female troops who have been assaulted. You have Afghan evacuees committing sex crimes at Fort McCoy. Okay, I want to hear this answer. How about you? We'll come back right where we left off in just a minute. I want to talk to you a little bit about American Home Shield. American Home Shield has a plan to help cover all the cost of things that might go wrong in your home, kitchen appliances, plumbing, HVAC systems, all the things that just, just hammer you if they go wrong.

Starting point is 01:23:59 Make sure you are covered in your home for these nightmare failures of systems in your home with aHS.com slash Beck. General Millie, General Austin, all testifying in front of Congress today about what happened in Afghanistan. We'll get to that. Also, we're going to talk a little bit about the president's new goal of 97 or 98% of all Americans having the vaccine before we can get back to normal. I don't think people even know what normal is anymore. John Stossel also is suing Facebook. We're going to talk to him in 60 seconds. Look, there was a story out from the Fed.
Starting point is 01:25:25 I think it came out last Wednesday. They're going to begin tapering, which means they're going to start or stop buying as many stocks and bonds as they have been buying to bail everybody out. And they're also going to start raising interest rates. Now, they said they weren't going to do that for at least a year. They've changed their mind. They said, I'm going to do that probably really early next year. That is a sign inflation is coming.
Starting point is 01:25:51 Already the banks are raising the interest rates on people who want a loan. If you need a loan, please act now. You can pay less than 3% right now. And if you're paying more than that, you should get a refi or maybe a consolidation loan and pay all of your loans down, get that heavy interest off of your back. It's American Financing. It's a homegrown company that will have you covered coast to coast, no matter what your borrowing needs are. They work for you, not the banks.
Starting point is 01:26:25 Call American Financing. 800-906 2440. 800-9062440. It's Americanfinancing.net. American financing NMLS-182334. www. nmLS Consumer Access.org. 19-time Emmy winner John Stossel hailed by the Dallas Morning News. news as the most consistently thought-provoking TV reporter of our time.
Starting point is 01:26:53 And then he figured out that regulation causes more problems and decided to report on how the government is really screwing things up. And that's when things went bad for John, but went great for America. John Stossel joins us now. Hi, John. How are you? Oh, I wish I had that much power. I think you have had a massive impact, John.
Starting point is 01:27:19 I think you've had a massive impact on America. You know, I've watched you for years and years, and the things that you exposed, I think, changed a lot of people open their eyes. Not, you know, not all of the, you know, party people in New York and all the people that, you know, are fashionable, but I think a lot of regular Americans. Why are you suing Facebook now? Now, some of what we complain about, they can do legally, but a big fact.
Starting point is 01:28:25 climate feedback. Oh, yeah. Yeah. They just don't change it. So how are you planning on going up against? I mean, Facebook has more money than God. You have good attorneys. I mean, what are the chances of one guy standing up against them that you win?
Starting point is 01:29:14 Yeah. Well, thank you for doing that. Tell me a little bit about what your thoughts are on the virus and the vaccine. and all of this. America is so strangely split on this because it became all about politics. So what are your thoughts on that, John? Maybe doesn't get vaccinated.
Starting point is 01:30:21 It doesn't kill most of them and people will acquire natural immunity. And that's the only way to move on. What do you think about how Americans and the world have reacted to this? I mean, I remember when it was breaking out in Beijing, and if you remember right, there were times that they were welding people into their homes, they were sealing these iron doors so people couldn't leave their homes.
Starting point is 01:31:36 And I remember saying on the air, this would never have, we would never put up with this kind of stuff here in America. We're two years into this and we're still putting up with it. What happened to us, John? Locking. No. Yeah, but I mean, if you want to use that logic, then we should take every car off. the road. We should take every pool out of every backyard. We should take every steak knife out of every dishwasher.
Starting point is 01:32:52 John Stossel, always good to talk to you, sir. When do you go to court? Do you know? That's our legal system. Good to talk to you, John. Thanks a lot. You too. Yeah, John Stossel suing Facebook over defamation. And he's absolutely right. And that climate group has been responsible for getting us banned or having our hands. Slapped or whatever it actually turned out to be remember there was something they were claiming that we said something that we never said we never said but we quoted Something that was accurate that came out of a study where in that study They said in that study this particular quote we didn't even know it was in the study we had nothing to do with that quote We weren't quoting it we weren't even holding up the study we were just using
Starting point is 01:33:49 that as a footnote on where we got that particular information. All the information in the study was accurate. That quote is what they disagreed with. And they attributed it to us, said we were, we were saying that. We never said that. Yeah. The problem with a lot of these groups is they're just sloppy, let alone ideological and antagonistic to conservative values.
Starting point is 01:34:11 They're just bad at their jobs, too, which is a pretty big problem when you're talking about the livelihood of a business. you know i mean you know john stossel you know as he said he releases a new video every tuesday um you know like when you throw them off of off of these platforms how do you how do people see that you kill how do people see his work you don't you don't all right back in just a minute first let me tell you about rough greens angela writes in about our dog's experience with rough greens i ordered rough greens a few weeks ago while uh listening to glenbeck on the blaze oh angela how sweet uh my dog If his dog loved it, I'm sure mine would.
Starting point is 01:34:49 Well, not necessarily. My four-year-old miniature doxin, Parker, loved it right away. Put it in his bowl, he lapped it up, much to my surprise. Quinn, my 14-year-old shepherd boxer mix, was a bit more reluctant, didn't seem enthusiastic at first. But I kept sprinkling it on her food every day, and after a week, she eagerly awaited it in the morning. Now she's gobbling it down. I've noticed a definite increase in energy in both dogs. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 01:35:16 Angela, you are more than welcome. I'm glad your dogs are loving it. Although your German Shepherd should be skeptical, and I'm surprised that you're a miniature dachshund, because I used to have dachshunds, and they eat anything. But maybe that was just mine. Rough greens, not a dog food.
Starting point is 01:35:35 It's something that you sprinkle on the dog food, and it's a supplement filled with all the things that make your dog healthier and happier. Try it. Get a free bag of rough greens just to try out, see if your dog will eat it, then order the big bag of Rough Greens and put it on your dog's food for a couple of months and just watch the difference in your dog. 833, 833 Glenn 33, 833 Glenn 33.
Starting point is 01:35:56 It's Roughgreens.com slash back. 10 seconds, station ID. Can we go to the audio from, I believe it was General Austin, for answering a question from Tom Cotton. Here it is. I understand that you're the principal military advisor, that you advise, you don't decide, the President decides. But if all this is true, General Millie,
Starting point is 01:36:23 why haven't you resigned? Listen to this. Senator, as a senior military officer, resigning is a really serious thing. It's a political act if I'm resigning in protest. My job is to provide advice. My statutory responsibility is to provide legal advice or best military advice to the President,
Starting point is 01:36:44 and that's my legal requirement. That's what the law is. the president doesn't have to agree with that advice. He doesn't have to make those decisions just because we're generals. And it would be an incredible act of political defiance for a commissioned officer to just resign because my advice is not taken. This country doesn't want generals figuring out what orders we are going to accept and do or not. That's not our job.
Starting point is 01:37:10 Isn't that basically what he was doing with China? It's absolute. It's critical to this republic. In addition to that, just from a person, standpoint, you know, my dad didn't get a choice to resign at Iwojima. And those kids that are at Abbey Gate, they don't get a choice to resign. And I'm not going to turn my back on them. I'm not going to resign. They can't resign, so I'm not going to resign. There's no way. If the orders are illegal, we're in a... Hold it. Hold it. Just a second. Stu,
Starting point is 01:37:34 Stu. Just because the president won't listen to you, doesn't mean you resign. I agree with that. We don't need, we don't have a country where the country doesn't want a general that resigns every time the president disagrees with him. I agree with that. However, when the, when the president is making decisions that put our troops and our country in danger, real danger, an unnecessary danger, you should resign. You should go, you should lay your stars down on the desk and say, Mr. President, I can't be a part of this. This is too dangerous for our troops. It's not going to work out the way you think it will. And all of us have advised you of that. And you continue to say that you're going to do it. Well, that's fine. I just won't put those kids' lives in jeopardy for
Starting point is 01:38:30 something this foolhardy because it won't work, sir. And if it does, I apologize. But all my experience shows, no, it won't. You do that for two reasons, in hopes that the president would change his mind. And if he doesn't, to be able to warn the people, the president is, is making foolhardy decisions. Yeah. I mean, that's kind of in a way what General Mattis did. Yes.
Starting point is 01:38:59 Right. I mean, he did not agree with what was going on and the decision making be made around Syria. And he decided he didn't want to be part of it. Right. I don't think there was a lot of criticism of Mattis for doing that. I mean, you might disagree with his analysis of the situation. but the fact is that if he didn't want to stand by
Starting point is 01:39:17 what was going on and the decisions, he didn't want to stand behind those decisions, then removing yourself as a very realistic idea and possibility for a military official. And again, he's right into say that he can't, if it's a legal order, he does need to follow it. Correct.
Starting point is 01:39:33 Or resign. Right. And that what, which also goes to, then why didn't you tell the president that you were making a phone call to China and saying, hey, listen,
Starting point is 01:39:44 He's not going to do anything. And if he does, I'll call you first. You work directly for the president. You are the chief military advisor. Did you as the chief military advisor go into the Oval Office and said, hey, China is freaking out. They think you're going to bomb him. Did you? Did you go in?
Starting point is 01:40:04 He says he went to Esper. But we'll see. I mean, we don't know. Isn't he the chief advisor for the president? I mean, you should go to the president. That's kind of important. Mr. President, China thinks you're going to bomb. I mean, I know there's no chance of you.
Starting point is 01:40:25 May I just call them and tell them that's not in the cards? Of course call them. Yeah, and I think the bigger part of that call, too, was what you just mentioned, which was, if we're going to attack you, I will warn you. Now, he could, of course, if he actually did that, there's no doubt it's treason. If he calls up underhandedly and warns the Chinese government that we're about to attack them when we're about to attack them, that's absolutely open and shut treason. Now, he didn't actually do it, of course, because we weren't going to attack China. And so we're in hypothetical land.
Starting point is 01:41:05 But really, the answer needs to be that he was lying to China. I was telling China whatever I felt like telling them, even though obviously in that real circumstances. I wouldn't call them is the only acceptable answer there. Right. It's the only thing like it's totally fine for one of our people to call up and say, look, we're never going to spy on you when we are spying on them. Right. That stuff happens all the time.
Starting point is 01:41:29 Honesty is not exactly always the hallmark of foreign affairs. But actually doing it would be, I think, unquestionably treason. Honesty, I think, is the hallmark. You don't make a phone. call to lie to somebody. But you make it, you can make a phone call. You know, look, if he makes a phone call and say, look, I'll absolutely call you if that's going to happen.
Starting point is 01:41:53 Now, if we're actually attacking and he calls, that's treason. If we actually are attacking and he doesn't call, that would not be a surprise. No, it wouldn't be. But it would be also, I could see that being something very, very important for the
Starting point is 01:42:11 president to know. The president, if he's negotiating with a country, he has to know what all of his people are saying. Yeah. This is not the Congress. It's not the Senate. These are his people. It's funny you say that because a large portion of this book,
Starting point is 01:42:29 Peril by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, is talking about one of the main issues they found with the Trump administration is that there were so many warring factions inside of it, there would be one group saying one thing to China and another group saying something else to China. And Donald Trump, you know, again, this is their announcement. of the situation was he liked some of them on one day and he liked the other group on another day. So one group would get priority. They would say something to a foreign country. And then the next group would go in there having no idea what group one said and disagree with them.
Starting point is 01:43:02 And so there was all these mixed messages. And this is one of the things they claim was frustrating to other countries we were dealing with. You can go through whether you believe that or not. But that's their criticism. They're saying that that's a bad thing. They're saying that's a bad thing. So if a president said to a group of people that burned the country to almost to the ground, that that's okay and that's part of democracy.
Starting point is 01:43:29 But then went and claimed that somebody who came in and did some damage to some windows, wasn't trying to burn it down, and did some damage in the capital. Those people should be solitary confinement. Those would be mixed messages.
Starting point is 01:43:49 Totally. And that would be bad, I thought. That's what I was told as well. But you're right. That's exactly what they did about January 6th. In the call, Millie says to the Chinese, hey, I know. You guys, you know, basically,
Starting point is 01:44:03 you guys got your dictatorship over there. We know you would never allow any of this stuff. But when you got a democracy, you have to understand these things happen. Sometimes there's going to be riots at the Capitol. That's essentially what they told, what Millie told the Chinese to make them calm down about January 6th. You guys don't understand culturally this isn't that abnormal.
Starting point is 01:44:23 But then it even says in the book. But in reality, General Millie thought this was the worst thing ever. Okay, so he was lying to China twice. And they can verify that he's a liar now because he said it's no big deal. And now, you know, they have TVs and satellite over there. They're going to know now. They're going to know. They're going to know that he was lying to them.
Starting point is 01:44:46 And that's why I think the back and forth of this at some level is immaterial to whether General Millie should continue in his role. And the answer to that, I think, is absolutely he needs to leave. Leave. He can't, even if the best case scenario is true here that he told Robert Costa and Bob Woodward about all of this behavior, which shows him to be a liar to China. only. That's the worst thing he did was he's not a reliable source to our adversaries. Anyone. If that's true, then he can't be trusted for foreign affairs going forward. Correct. He's either lying to China, Bob Woodward, the American people, the press, Donald Trump, or the current administration, or today, Congress. No one can rely on the guy. And that guy can't be in that role.
Starting point is 01:45:36 Correct. Correct. Back in just a second. Wow. Did you see Time magazine last week? Of course you didn't know what he reads that piece of crap. But they laid out the potential death of the dollar in kind of a fascinating and terrifying piece last week. China opened up its digital currency to foreigners. Next year when they host the Winter Olympic Games, they expect the whole visiting world to utilize their new digital dollar, if you will. China estimated to be about 10 years ahead of the United States. Mark my words, we're not 10 years away from digital money.
Starting point is 01:46:13 When this happens, this is what the article says, other countries. are sincerely interested in finding ways to decrease their dependence on the dollar, the U.S. facing a world in which it may not control or even the lead the world's payment systems. When that happens, your lifestyle is completely different overnight. That's Time Magazine, not crazy Glenn Beck. I know, crazy. Don't listen to me. Goldline, call them right now. Find out if gold or silver is right for you.

Call them now 866 Goldline. 866 Goldline or Goldline.com. It's blazedtv.com slash Glenn. The promo code is Glenn for 10 bucks off your subscription to Blaze TV. This is the Glenn Beck program. There is something that's coming out of the world of science. They look like they have found physical evidence for one of the most infamous Bible stories, the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. They have been working on this now for about 15 years. The city of Sodom is called Tal El Hamon. It was from about 3,600 years ago. And it's right at the edge. It was an urban
Starting point is 01:47:54 center right at the edge of the dead sea. And we know from the Bible that God destroyed it with fire, right? Just incinerated the place. Right. Okay. Well, the Bible is so stupid. Scientists have been looking now at their 15 years worth of excavation. And they have found a roughly five foot thick jumbled layer of,
Starting point is 01:48:26 charcoal, ash, melted mud bricks, and melted pottery. They call it the destruction layer. As they've been looking into it and what caused it, they believe that it was hit by a meteor, a space rock that was coming in at 38,000 miles an hour to Sodom. And kind of did some damage. They, to, to make this ash and this destruction layer as is, they knew that it had to, whatever happened was had to hit at least 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit. Kind of hot.
Starting point is 01:49:12 So we know it wasn't a, you know, like a candle fire. Right. And what they, what they believe now is that a rock exploded about 2.5 miles above ground. listen to this, creating a blast around a thousand times more powerful than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. A thousand times more powerful. They say the massive shock wave would have followed moving at roughly 740 miles an hour faster than any tornado ever on record. It would have demolished every building and killed all inhabitants. Which is kind of what the Bible story says.
Starting point is 01:50:02 So that's kind of weird. By the way, the last thing in the story, just to make your day, make you feel a little better. Scientists tell us there are currently more than 26,000 near-ear-Earth asteroids and 100 short-period near-Earth comets that could cause an impact like this on Earth. they added one will inevitably crash into the earth but don't worry about the 26,000 because millions more remain undetected and some may be headed towards the earth right now.
Starting point is 01:50:40 Oh, that's good. Yeah. What could possibly go wrong? Let me ask you something. Let me ask you something. If I gave you a choice, you could live through the rest of your life going through all the stuff that we know is coming.
Starting point is 01:50:57 Right. Okay. Or a giant space rock could come and blow up two and a half miles above your head and you'd be vaporized immediately. I think I take it immediately. Immediately. So no pain. No, no pain at all. You're like, if you're inside, maybe you hear the, maybe, maybe you hear the, you know, emergency broadcast.
Starting point is 01:51:23 system go off. Maybe. And it's like, stations, a giant space, and that's all you hear. And then you're all vaporized. Okay. But probably not going to get the EBS system. You know, if you're outside, you might look up and go, what the hell is? And then you're dead. Or you could live the rest of your life on the road we're on right now. Because there was an interesting movement behind a presidential candidate recently called sweet meteor of death. And the idea was that kind of this. Like would you vote for a sweet meteor of death just come and take us all out and take us out of our never-ending excruciating pain?
Starting point is 01:52:07 I think I would. Well, I don't want to speak for other people. I wouldn't want to vote for that because, you know, other people would be involved. So if I choose the meteor and I knew it was coming, I would say, hey, by the way, you should all leave the area maybe about 25 miles around me because it's coming. Now, I don't know if more people would leave
Starting point is 01:52:31 or would flock to me. They run toward you. Yeah, they might run toward me. There was a, in the documentary film, Real Genius from 1985, there was a defense system created that would bounce lasers off of mirrors in space. And then it would come down and it could vaporize a target, a human target from space in seconds. Oh, that's the Jewish, that's the Jewish laser.
Starting point is 01:52:59 Yes, Jewish space laser, right? You know, in the film, they didn't talk about it being Jewish. Yeah, well. But the Jewish space laser is real. Right. You know what I mean? That's a great point. Right.
Starting point is 01:53:08 Right. Or maybe not. Yeah. Jewish space laser. So that's a way of doing that, instead of wiping out an entire community with the sweet meteor meteor of death. You could do it in an individual laser way and just, just evaporate yourself from society.
Starting point is 01:53:27 No, I don't want to know it's coming. Well, let's just say, well, you said you were going to vote for the sweet meteor of death. Or I said I wouldn't because then it would involve other people. Right. So what is the solution I'm presenting? One that will not affect other people. This would just be you being vaporized as you sit your chair. Maybe we could just give this to like Amazon and say,
Starting point is 01:53:47 So if you're ever talking and you didn't say Siri, you know, it's still listening to you. And you'd be like, man, would I just love to be vaporized today? Then Siri could have that. And they would report back to, you know, whomever, probably right to the head guy there. And he'd say, oh, I got the space laser, the Jewish space laser. And Siri would say, he wants to be. vaporized and then you're just vaporized. It wouldn't simplify things.
Starting point is 01:54:23 I will say. It would. I will say we would avoid a lot of dumb commentary from AOC if we were hit with a space laser and didn't have to hear her speaking. That would be one positive of being hit with a Jewish space laser. You know, I never thought of it this way before, but maybe they're not the problem. Maybe me being alive and hearing it is the problem. The funny thing is they have thought about that before.
Starting point is 01:54:47 You may not have. Yeah, yeah. But they have realized that you are the problem. Damn it, Stu. Could we please talk about science for a second? Of course. Okay, let me talk about science. This is from the Scientific American.
Starting point is 01:55:01 The acronym Jedi has become a popular term for branding academic committees and labeling STEM science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine initiatives focused on social justice issues. used in this context Jedi stands for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. This is again from Scientific American. Okay.
Starting point is 01:55:29 In recent years it has been used and been employed by a growing number of prominent institutions and organizations including the National Academies of Sciences Engineering and Medicine. At first glance, Jedday might simply appear
Starting point is 01:55:45 to be an elegant way to explicitly build justice into the more common formula of DEI, an abbreviation for diversity, equity, and inclusion. However, it shares the name with super heroic protagonist of the science fiction Star Wars franchise. Wait, it does? It does. I had only heard it in the scientific context. No.
Starting point is 01:56:12 And thus, it is inappropriate. Wait. So DEI is something that existed in science. Apparently. Diversity, equity and inclusion. Yes, yes. And they have now changed it to Jedi because people will actually remember it. Correct.
Starting point is 01:56:30 And it's justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. And we can't use Jedi. Not because I thought you were going to say it was a copyright reason. No. You're saying it's because why? What? Well, through its connections to Star Wars, Wars, the name Jedi can inadvertently associate our justice work with stories and stereotypes
Starting point is 01:56:52 that are a galaxy far, far away from the values of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. So we have to ask ourselves a few questions. These connections are, are they ones that we want to have? For instance, the Jedi are inappropriate mascots for social justice. They're ostensily heroes in Star Wars. Jedi are inappropriate symbols, however, for justice work. They are a religious order of intergalactic
Starting point is 01:57:24 police monks. This can't be real. This is a real article? This is a real article from Scientific American. Oh, it only gets better from here. Does it? Prone to white saviorism and toxic, masculine approaches to conflict resolution.
Starting point is 01:57:50 Princess Leia was toxic masculinity personified. She's in here. Oh, good. Oh, she's in here. The Jedi are also an exclusionary cult, membership to which is partly predicated on the possession of heightened psychic and physical abilities. Strikingly,
Starting point is 01:58:08 force-wielding talents are narratively explained in Star Wars. They're not merely in spiritual terms, also in abelist and eugenic terms. These supernatural powers are naturalized as biological hereditary attributes. So it is that force potential is framed as a dynastic property of noble bloodlines. For instance, the Skywalker dynasty. This, I'm not making this up. I can't. I can't believe this is real. Look it up.
Starting point is 01:58:38 It's in Scientific American. Here, here it is. Why the term Jedi is problematic for describing programs that promote justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Let me take a break while you look it up, verify that it's real. Because it's a lot better than this. It gets a lot better than this. So we'll see, look, it has one, two, three, four, five different scientists weighing in on this. Okay. I have an announcement.
Starting point is 01:59:12 Okay. No, no, wait, wait, wait for you now. Can we, should we wait for your announcement? Well, I think I can at least give you this part of it. I am praying now for the sweet meteor of death. You just found out that it was real. I have a challenge for you. It's going to take a little bit of your time.
Starting point is 01:59:29 Not much, but a little. But in the end, probably going to save you a buttload of money. Even better, you become a Jedi. And you fight for the things that you have value in. I want you to make the switch to Patriot Mobile. Do it today. Do it now so you don't forget. You'll thank me later.
Starting point is 01:59:48 Patriot Mobile, the only Christian conservative mobile company, and it's on the same towers as all the major carriers. So you get the same great service. Although half the cost, Patriot Mobile has affordable, customizable plans for families. They donate a portion of what they make to conservative causes, unlike the big mobile companies that are donating things like Planned Parenthood. Can we stop supporting these companies that we disagree with? go with a company that is fighting for you and your rights and will give you the same great service and at a fraction of the cost
Starting point is 02:00:25 Patriotmobile.com slash Beck. Make the switch today. Patriotmobile.com slash Beck. You can call 972 Patriot. You'll get free activation with the offer code back. They have special discounts always for veterans and first responders and for multi-line accounts. So I want you to switch right now to Patriot.
Starting point is 02:00:46 PatriotMobil.com slashback. Patriotmobile.com slashback or 972 Patriot. I'm just reading again from Scientific American why the term Jedi is problematic for describing programs that promote justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. That's becoming popular to say that those warriors are Jedi's. And they're saying this is really bad. Very inappropriate.
Starting point is 02:01:20 their intergalactic police monks. And they also gaslight people by means of Jedi mind tricks. I'm quoting, Jedies are also an exclusionary cult membership to which is partly predicated on the possession of heightened psychic and physical abilities, force sensitivity. And these are not just merely spiritual terms, but also biological and hereditary attributes. The Skywalker Dynasty is part of that.
Starting point is 02:01:58 How? But, hmm? How could anyone write this? Star Wars, oh, it took five scientists to write this. Star Wars also has a problematic cultural legacy. The space opera franchise has been critiqued for trafficking in injustices such as sexism, racism, and abelism. Think for example of the so-called slave Leah costume, infamous for stripping down and chaining up the movie series
Starting point is 02:02:30 first leading woman as part of an Oriolenta, orientalist subplot. I didn't know it was an Orientalist subplot. I had no idea. But the Leia thing is presented negatively. No one thinks that it's a good idea to chain people up in the movie. He's the evil villain. They're making it like an Orientalist subplot, so...
Starting point is 02:02:54 So, wait, it's bad because Oriental populations chain their women up, and therefore we shouldn't criticize Oriental populations? I am shocked that you would even use that word. I was talking about an Oriontist subplot. Luckily, you can't say it. Exactly right. I'm not getting in trouble. You're not guilty. I'm not guilty.
Starting point is 02:03:15 Yeah, I can't say it. And he's just throwing around these Oriental people. I don't even know what you mean, Stu. You did just say it. So I guess, quoting you, I guess, I guess so because it is trying to make this look like something that would have happened in Asia. Right. Thank you. And that's true.
Starting point is 02:03:37 The problem is not that they change her up. The problem is that we're criticizing a foreign culture. I think that's what it means. I think we haven't even gotten to the good stuff. We'll have to start the show with this tomorrow. We should. The best stuff is that, yes, even though I feared in the middle of that segment you were reading from the Babylon B, this is an actual real article from five scientists in Scientific American. Scientific America. Remember when they used to talk about scientific stuff?
Starting point is 02:04:07 Yeah, and not Jedi Knights?
