But it happened yesterday. Matt Gates did step aside, withdrew his name from consideration to be attorney general. So what were your thoughts on that, on him leaving? I bet that's not the last one. No, I don't think they'll all get through. Gates was surprising from the start that he was named. I think that was kind of a surprise, mainly because he just has a lot of enemies in Washington. Sure does.

A lot of people really don't like him. They came out and they're like, well, the reason why is he's got four votes against him. They know that from everything I've heard, he has. he had way more than four votes against him. The four people that came out. I saw 30. Republicans. Republicans.

30 Republicans were going to vote against him. The names you may have heard are the names who want responsibility for it. There's a lot of Republicans who were saying they were going to vote against him but didn't want to piss Trump off and didn't want to be known as the guy opposing Gates. The ones who you, whose name you heard, probably Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Mitch McConnell. Those names were names that they wanted to. be in the press as the people who stopped Matt Gates. The other one was John Curtis, the new senator from Utah.

Right. Replacing Romney. And was not a fan, apparently, of Gates. But, I mean, that was pretty common in Washington. Now, that sometimes is a badge of honor, right? Yeah. I mean, there's a lot of people who just don't like Matt Gates. And there's so much strangeness around his story and the backstory here when it comes to

whether he was doing something with, with women and, and it did seem like he had some periods in his life that were, um, maybe not up to snuff as far as, uh, standards, moral standards go. Uh,

that is at least the, there's more than that is the accusation. And the accusation was like, almost comical. They were, they're charging him with sex trafficking. Now, I don't know.

When I think sex trafficking, I think like Jeffrey Epstein. Yeah. Right. Like that's a type of thing that pops into my mind. That's not. You don't think of taking a flight across state lines with somebody who's underage. Right.

You don't think of it that way. You don't think of it that way. And by the way, all, as far as I understand, all accusations are that he didn't know that she was underage. Which is, you know, again, this is something you need to check and be thorough on. Okay, boys and girls, this is a little tip for you and your life. Number one, if you have the question in your mind, don't do it. That's step one. Yeah.

Okay. If they have the question in your mind and decide, you're going to skip step one, check very closely. Now, what's crazy about this is the reporting is that she had a fake ID, which is not a surprise, right? Okay. Because her friend, allegedly, who was another person who was supposedly sleeping around in these types of arrangements, was she, even testified that he didn't know. Oh. This is some of the people who were saying, hey,

I saw him have sex with this woman, a girl, I guess, at this stage in her life. She was 17, right? She was 17. Yeah. However, he didn't know she was 17. So he, even the accusation is he didn't know. But the other part about it is she apparently had a fake ID.

One of the stories is the ID came from Matt Gates's friend who is in prison right now for charges related to this, but actually had responsibility to issue driver's licenses from the state. Part of his job was to get like, so it wasn't a fake ID and that it was a fake ID you got from the internet. It was an actual real Florida ID that said she was, so maybe he did check. I mean, again, if you're close to the line, a good idea not to go forward.

Yeah. That's just a tip. Yeah. You know, but I would. But he wasn't. married at the time. Right. It just seems like what it seems like is the sex trafficking thing to me seems to be a complete stretch, right? Like you're looking to get him on. You're trying to make it look worse than it was. And it may have been very bad.

I'm not saying it wasn't. But like sex trafficking, it wasn't running a prostitution ring. Yeah. You know, he seemed to potentially be involved in, allegedly, involved in purchases in this, in this way. And I will say, like I say purchases because, you know, they leaked the Venmo records of Matt Gates. And they had this big, have you seen this, the chart they came up with? I don't think so. It's like, you know, it's the two guys, Gates and his buddy who's now in prison and has admitted to all this and seemingly has a really crazy history of all sorts of craziness.

like targeting political opponents with like false claims of pedophilia. So he has really crazy stuff. Allegedly, all of this, of course. But he is in jail. He actually is in jail. So some of it's not alleged. And so they have all the payments, the lines from this to dozens of women. Most of the payments are from this guy who's in prison to the women.

some of the payments are from gates to these women. Now, importantly, there is, even in their chart, there is no direct payment line from Gates to the 17-year-old. There are payments from the other guy to the 17-year-old, but not from Gates. So that's kind of important. However, there are payments from Gates to women and also payments from the guy to the same woman. Now, perhaps, perhaps, they both purchase furniture. on Facebook marketplace from the same woman. Okay?

It could happen. It could happen. Like, yeah. And over and over again. Like, hey, you got another chair? Oh, wow. I was looking for a lamp to go with the chair. They both bought eight chairs from the same woman.

Yes. That's possible. It is a possibility. You know, I think his thing, you know, I don't know what his defense is exactly. It seems like it's kind of tied up into that he, quote unquote, dating some of these women. he was being generous and giving them money. It doesn't exactly explain why the other guy was also giving their money,

but like he was, it's also seemingly they were tied into a whole different conspiracy related to Iran. I mean, it is, first of all, gonna be a great movie someday. Whatever the hell happened here is going to be a great movie. Because it is seemingly true that at the same time all of this was happening, there was like extortion going on against gates, and his dad, who was somehow tied into a plot to free a hostage in Iran.

I mean, it is bizarre. And it does seem to- I've not even heard that part of this scandal. Yeah, because it will, you may have, you may have actually Pat, and you may have forgotten about it because the day this report came out in the New York Times connecting Gates to this underaged girl and this investigation going on, Gates went on Tucker Carlson. and he basically came out with this whole scheme of how his dad was being extorted for $25 million.

And it seemed difficult to believe. It looked like to me, honestly, watching it, it seemed like Tucker Carlson didn't really believe it. I don't know that. I didn't hear that from Tucker, but it just didn't look like he bought it at the time. But a lot of it came out to be that it was actually true. That this, strangely like, the news of this investigation was leaked to, the media and having some bizarre tie to this other

separate potential operation to free a hostage? All I know is, here's my thing, Pat. Just backing up, because we're in the weeds a little bit on this one. If somebody's got that going on in their life, you might feel real

let's say everything Gates says is true. He just was dating a young girl, giving her a bunch of money for random travel expenses, and I had no idea she was 17, apparently thought she was, I don't know, 18. I don't know how much better that makes it, honestly, but let's just go along with us for a moment. Okay.

And then it comes out of that there's an investigation going on with him. And it may be tied to some plot to extort his dad. Okay, all of this, everything Matt Gates says is true. And one of his best buddies is in jail now for doing sleazy things. Right. Maybe you don't nominate the guy. Maybe the best outcome is he's not your attorney general. Yeah.

You know, and I think like I can understand at some level if I'm Donald Trump to say, I want the biggest bulldog of bulldogs that will not blow me off, will not undercut me, who will be a one mind, single minded machine to take down the deep state. Right. I can see that coming out of Donald Trump's head and his mouth. Yeah. That being said. Yeah.

You know, Pam Bondi's probably going to do most of that stuff, too. And she knows she wasn't doing was hooking up with 17-year-olds. I mean, maybe Matt Gates wasn't true. Wait, like, it's true. I mean, it is Florida. She's from Florida. He don't know. I love you, Florida.

I love you, Florida. But, you know, a lot of those stories do seem to come from Florida. Anyway, yeah, but Pam Boddy's probably going to do a great job doing that too. She's going to be really loyal to Donald Trump. She doesn't have any of the weirdness that I know of, at least, surrounding her that he did. he doesn't have all the enemies in Washington she doesn't it just like at the end of the day I think this is going to serve Donald Trump better

than Gates would even if he did get through the nomination process it's not like Pam Bondi's going to be like oh well I don't want to I don't want to get mixed up in going after the deep state like that's not gonna she's gonna be I think pretty strong in that realm so I would think so yeah I would think so yeah I don't know that it was the best choice to nominate him in the first place. Yeah.

However, at the end of the day, I think it's going to serve him best that he doesn't have to deal with it. He doesn't have to go down this road. Yeah. And probably, you know, Gates too, to be honest. Yeah. You know, when you have stuff that's questionable in your personal life, the more you escalate attention on yourself, the worst it's going to get.

The worse it's going to get. And I think, like, my guess is he can bring in Matt Gates as a, as a White House counsel or something that doesn't need to go through confirmation. Still get all of his input, still get all of his, you know, everything you get out of him in another role. He can help advise Pam Bondi and he doesn't have to go through that confirmation process, which would not be positive. And what has Glenn said for decades? You know, get all this stuff out and just admit to it. And then it can't hurt you in the long run.

So maybe it's a good thing that all of this stuff is coming out about Matt Gates, then we can deal with it and move on. You know? And then he can do whatever it is he wants to do in the future. Yeah. I don't, it's so shady, Pat, I really don't know what happened. And it might be very much, like, it might be, I mean, the most innocent explanation for it isn't particularly innocent in that, like, it's still, you know, probably behavior a congressman should not be involved in. You know, like, you want to keep your, you want to keep your, your, your, uh, your sex life is under control as possible. We have noted, Pat, in the past that Washington politicians don't do that all that.

that well. And he, Matt Gates is far from alone in promiscuous behavior, if you will. Now, if it's illegal behavior, it's another story, of course. But if, you know, if it's him being, you know, like, you know, there's other congressman, you know, Senator Mullen, who had famously kind of come out on TV and said, yeah, he was showing us videos of the girls he was hooking up with on the floor of the house. I don't know if that's true. Who knows, right? Who knows? But there was a lot of smoke around that one. And who knows, it might just be that, look, he had a point in his life where he did a lot of stuff. He would not be alone in making bad decisions in his younger years. And maybe that's all it is. Very true. But at the end of the day, Trump doesn't need that.

He doesn't need that heat. He doesn't need to make this any more difficult than it's going to be. It's going to be hard. Taking on the CIA and the FBI and everything else Donald Trump wants to take on is going to be hard enough. Department of Education. I mean... Don't complicate it. Yeah, there's a lot. All right. I don't know, did you buy this, that Trump had knew that Gates had less than a 50-50 shot of being confirmed, but was floating this out there because he wanted to, you know, move the Overton window a little bit. So he could get his guys. And Gates was willing to play that role. I think Gates wanted it to work out. But you buy that? I heard that theory.

I also heard that he was playing, that Trump was maybe playing 40 chess to get Gates out of the Congress. Yeah. I don't know that I buy necessarily either of them. I'm more skeptical on that one because he could have just named him White House counsel or something that didn't need confirmation. True. And that same thing, all this could have played out the same way.

So that part doesn't make much sense to me. Plus, they had to know. They know Washington. Donald Trump was president of the United States. Yeah, it's not a surprise. There is zero chance this report wasn't coming out. I just wonder who's next. Is he going to be able to get Pete Hegseth through now?

They're coming after Hegseth. Yeah, big time. I mean, there's allegations of rape with Pete Hague Seth. I don't believe it. I mean, he claims that it was consensual. Yeah. But there's another sexual scandal. Yes. And I, who got, again, God only knows what happened there.

Yeah, who knows. His point is that they did, you know, they did have sex, but it was consensual. The story is, you know, look, there's a, there's reason to believe that, um, uh, her situation, she was married. And, and, you know, the husband was in the hotel and another room when all this occurred. Right. So, yeah, there's reason to believe that there may have been some, some regret afterwards. Some regret afterwards. He even said he noticed it before she left the room. Yeah. So I don't know, I don't know on that one. You know, hey, you know, unless...

Between this, though, and the Fox News thing, it's going to be a tough one. That's going to be a tough right, too. You know, again, I don't... The fact that he's, has done... The whole Fox News thing is something we should talk about. Pat may be more in depth. Because that is what the media keeps latching on to with all of these people. Yeah, yeah.

Everybody from, you know, Pete Hegseth to Sean Duffy, the Transportation Secretary, you know, It's some, not exactly Fox News, but Dr. Oz was also named to a position. Look, there quite obviously is a priority for Donald Trump to name people with media expertise in these roles. Communication, messaging, important to Donald Trump. This is not some new thing. Right. It's not some shocking development that he cares about messaging to the American people. And he wants people who can convey those messages.

That's not a surprise. I mean, you can have a lot of really. boring lawyer types that are behind the scenes doing a lot of the work. But those top positions are not just positions of governing. They are positions of messaging. You have to have someone who can tell these stories. Even the guy the boarders are, Homan, like he's a guy who can go out there and say, well, yeah, we just deport the families together. And he could say it with confidence. So great. He's not going to try to worm out of what the policy is. He's going to come out there and say what he actually believes.

That's important to Donald Trump. It should be important. What era do you think this is? This isn't Nixon sweating his way through a debate. What year is this? These people are going to be on TV a lot. They better be good at it. Well, it's that time of year.

You're on the Glenn Beck program with Pat and Stu. Good. Praying for Glenn's facial surgery. What if he's got going on? Poor guy, man. This guy's gone through a lot. Yeah. But in the meantime,

this whole Gates thing, you know, you have to kind of wonder if maybe it's like that college student that calls home and says, hey, mom and dad, I met this guy, and I got pregnant, and I just found out that he went back to jail, and I think I'm going to be homeless. And they're freaking out, right? Everybody's freaking out.

And then she goes, oh, just kidding. I got an F on my algebra paper. So, this is like, you know, it's a bad thing. And then the next person they bring up, they're just going to say, okay, that's fine. just we'll take her, we'll take her. You know, it's funny. So it's a strategic move nominating gates in the first place. Yeah, and this is basically what Maggie Haberman reported.

And Haberman is a left-wing journalist on the New York Times, no friend of Trump, but also well-sourced with Trump. Trump likes talking to her for some reason. He's one of these, you know, there's a lot of people Trump likes talking to in the media. And Haberman has been on and off one of those people. She does seem to be well-sourced within. That is basically what she's. she said. Jonathan Swan's another one who said the same thing.

Again, another guy who's pretty well sourced in the administration said basically, like he knew, I mean, he wanted Gates. He wanted Gates. It's not like it was a fake thing. But he knew it was going to be hard. A rough ride. And he knew there was a good chance it wasn't going to work. And he thought the upside at the other end was that people would look at Pam

Bondi and be like, oh gosh, she's much more easily confirmed. Right? I mean, she was an attorney general of a state. Right. You know, Matt Gates. So she's got experience in that job. Right. But it's interesting how some of the leftist media is responding to Pam Bondi.

Here's what MSNBC had to say about Pam Bondi. Pam Bondi is exactly what I was saying in the last segment that we should all fear. Because she's competent. We may not agree with her ideologically, but she actually knows how to do this job. So if anyone on the Democratic side or anyone who cared about liberty or justice was thinking, well, maybe Matt Gates will screw this up and that'll give us some time. No, Pam Bondi knows what she's doing. She knows

what she's doing about immigration. Remember, Florida is one of those states that's been very aggressive about migrants and deportation and moving people to different states and everything else like that. Florida has enacted all sorts of rules and laws to curtail students and what they can do on campuses and finding legal justifications for

manipulating education money. She is a dangerous and effective pick and that's frankly worse than what we would have got with Matt Gates. Even with the deplorable moral background that he has. All right. This is how, I mean, this is what they did. When DeSantis looked like he, you know, might run for president.

And this is before Trump was even really talked about again. And, uh, and they always said, oh, DeSantis will be even worse than Trump. Like, yes. No matter who the new person is, they're always worse than the old person. That's the rule on MSNBC. Mm-hmm. Uh, and look, you know, I can see, I can see this at some level being actually accurate in this case in that, like, Gates probably provides a lot of distractions and he might have issues when it comes to that that could distract from his actual

goal. Now he can come in and do all the same things he was going to do as White House counsel or some other role. So it's not like he can't be effective and can't do the things that would be helpful to the Trump administration, but Bondi will probably be able to shield a lot of those concerns. And as was noted, she was the attorney general of a big state already. She's She's gone down this road, knows this gig well. She's been very loyal to Donald Trump throughout the years, even in some of the really tough times. It seems like a pick that will serve Donald Trump better.

Yeah, and I love the fact that MSNBC is already afraid of her. That's perfect. Fantastic. Some of Trump's other nominees so far, I know you love this one. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. You love that pick. I'm a huge R.F.K. Junior fan, as you know. Huge fan. Big fan of him. Yeah. You know, look, could RFK Jr.

give some good input into the administration? Like, you want to set him loose on, you know, going in with a, with a surgical knife and cutting out every vaccine mandate known to man? I'm completely fine with that. Do I want him as the HHS secretary and in control of one third of her budget? Not really. Not really. I don't think that's a good move. You know, he's one again, I think. he did I understand wanting to reward what he did in the campaign yeah and and like we can talk about because he came out he stopped and he endorsed Trump right it was a big move and that's huge to Donald Trump almost went the other way right he called Kamala Harris for the same arrangement with Kamala Harris and Harris didn't return his calls right uh Trump did in a very very intelligent move

when you are in a race that is as close as it was and I I think some people look at back at the race and they're like, oh, it wasn't really that close. He won all seven swing states. Well, sure, he won all seven swing states. He needed to win one of the blue wall states. The biggest margin he had in any one of those states was two points. This is a close election. And, you know, it's, was RFK Jr.?

The factor? No. I don't think so. I don't think so. But like, because I mean, he won Pennsylvania by enough votes that I think I would be, I think it probably didn't make a difference. But, I mean, it was two points. I don't know.

Maybe it did. It's not crazy. Yeah. I don't think, if any, I think it did help him. Yeah. And I can understand wanting to give him a role. And look, you know, RFK Jr. wanted to become president of the United States largely to run the HHS. Like, that's the thing that really motivates him.

Yeah. I just don't know. That's a big job to give him. And I have, I've been a little confused about the RFK Jr thing from the beginning because conservatives were so willing to embrace this guy. even before the Donald Trump stuff, even before he got out of the race, people were thinking about voting for him as conservatives. And I was saying back then, this guy is not conservative. Don't be fooled by the couple of policies he's turned around on.

He's still a pretty hardcore liberal, progressive guy. And yeah, he's a little bit better on immigration, for instance. instance, he's a little bit better on, he's certainly better on, on mandates for vaccines. Sure. I mean, we can agree on a couple of things, but the guy's still radical. Yeah. He's a radical environmentalist for one thing. Right.

And, and like I think, you know, the way I look at this, him at HHS and where my concern level is, and it's not because, um, I think he's going to come in and, um, like, there was this, there's some movement on the left that wants the HHS to design, you. global warming as a as a health care emergency right so they can implement all sorts of policies related to that do I think RFK Jr. wants to do that yes do I think there's any chance he does it under a Trump administration no there's no way Donald Trump is going to allow that to occur however there are thousands of jobs that RFK Jr in this rule will be responsible for filling. Is he going to pick

a lot of global warming skeptics to fill those jobs? No. Is he going to be a person who's going to select employees that are animals to go in and root out public funding for abortion? No.

No. He is a pro-choice guy. He's a guy that has at many points in his life talked about pro-choice up to birth. Up to birth, right? Now that doesn't, is he going to make it so that every state, is he going to somehow pass a policy? You know, abortion is health care, Pat? Is he going to pass some wide-ranging policy that forces Texas to have abortions at 35 weeks? No.

No. He's not going to. And he is incapable of doing that anyway in that role. But Donald Trump would stop that every step of the way. But is he going to find a person who is going to eliminate the regulations that Joe Biden put in on abortion? Is he going to be searching for all those? I don't think so. No. I don't think so. No. And now maybe Donald Trump can surround him with enough people who are like that to alleviate those issues. But I am definitely concerned about that.

And not to mention like, you know, I have all sorts of concerns of. That's valid. I think your concern is valid. I think it is. Yeah. That doesn't mean that Trump can't come up with a way to get rid of those concerns. Mm-hmm. But it is a full-time job for him.

And I don't know that he needs another full-time job like that. I think a better approach would be somebody who was a conservative, okay, that would have many of the same views as RFK Jr. On some of these big issues. But putting RFK Jr. in some sort of consulting role where he's going after, specific things that you can monitor a lot more easily than something that's this wide ranging. I mean, this is

it makes, it doesn't, that one makes me more nervous than honestly, Gates or any of the others. Like, because this is not, this is not a guy, even like someone like Tulsi Gabbard who had a pretty long conversion in the public view on many issues, that's not RFK Jr. He was running against Donald Trump for president three months

ago. Yeah. And calling him all sorts of, a lot of the same things you'd hear on MSNBC. He was calling Donald Trump right then. This is not J.D. Vance in 2016, saying it. He was saying it in 2024. Wow, really? Yeah, Rachel Maddow, you may know her for her tireless reporting on the Russian collusion scandal. I, yes, I do know her from that. Of Donald Trump. Uh-huh.

And her efforts to keep him out of the White House so he wouldn't collude with Russia again? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I know that I'm concerned about that. Oh. And of course, I know you are as well, Pat. You better believe it. You know, she caught all sorts of stuff.

Now, a lot of it wound up, you know, being proved completely incorrect later on. But she didn't care about that. And she pushed through all those concerns about facts, Yeah. Truth. You know, it's easy to go on TV every day and say things that are accurate. You know, that's easy. What's hard is to keep your job while you're spewing lies. That is difficult.

That's hard. I've heard that's difficult. Yeah. But she pushed through all of that. And she's like the favorite. She is, you know, it's so interesting. I did it. We did an interview with David Harsani, the author.

He's got a new book out called Rise of Bluonon. and instead of QAnon, it's blue anon. And it's basically, hey, have you noticed that the left has got a lot of conspiracy theories? I keep hearing them about the right, but what about the left? Seems like this is a central part of their ideology these days. And unlike the conspiracy theories on the right, these are people who are like central, first of all, have massive profiles in mainstream media. People like on the view. Rachel Maddow anchored election night on MSNBC.

That's like some side character. She's like the central media figure on the left. Yeah. And she's MSNBC's big host. Yeah. I mean, she's the one. I think she works once a week, right? Yes.

And for that one appearance per week, she makes $30 million a year. Mm-hmm. And this... 30 million a year. $30 million a year. Uh-huh. And this Pat. is where the sacrifice

kicks in. MSNBC's had some problems. I've heard. They've got their hosts in the morning running off to beg Donald Trump for forgiveness. Right. Kissing the ring every step of the way begging Uncle Donnie to be nice to them.

Can we be friends again? Please. Remember like we were friends before? Remember you invited? You invited us to parties at Mar-a-Lago? Can we do that again? you to, I mean, we invited you to our wedding. Remember that?

That was adorable. Yeah. And then they had to kind of trot down to Mar-a-Lago to beg for his forgiveness. MSNBC's ratings way down, 60, 70, 80%. They're being spun off. They're being spun off into a separate company because they're such a disaster. And this has forced MSNBC's Rachel Maddow to take a pay cut from $30 million for her once-a-week show.

Yeah. to $25 million for a once a week show. Oh my. This sort of sacrifice for our nation. Wow. Will always be remembering. I mean, I got to say, part of me just admires her for this. But she's getting, that's amazing.

She's conned these people into a $30 million contract for one day a week. And now she's being praised. raised for her utter sacrifice for $25 million for one day a week. Oh my gosh. At some level, you just admire it. Yeah. If you can get away with that, I mean, of course you're going to. Yes.

So she's, I mean, this is a save her job kind of move, right? Because being spun off like this, they're probably not going to pay exorbitant salaries that they are paying right now. I mean, $30 million for her. And one day a week, I mean, $30 for her is exorbitant. Jeez. I'd agree. I'd agree with that.

That's a lot of money. Now, look, her ratings compared to the rest of the network are strong. Yeah. And that's how you justify this. In comparison. Right. And like, you know, like when you go back to, you know, Glenn Beck was on CNN headline news. And he more than tripled the ratings of his time slot there.

That doesn't mean a lot of people were watching in comparison to like, for example, the audience he wound up getting on Fox, right? Like, but because he was doing really well for CNN headline news, they very desperately wanted him to stay at CNN headline news. He wound up going to Fox at that time. But like, you know, it's okay. I mean, like, it's still impressive, right? If you're the, you're the best player on a bad team.

That's still something. Like, you still get a contract for that. And so I don't deny that, you know, she has some value. But, I mean, the fact that they, like, the one day a week thing is fascinating. This is going on all over the place. John Stewart, the same thing. Like, John Stewart comes in and he's doing one day a week. And, like, as someone who hosts a show multiple days a week, you may know not only here on the radio show, but also Studeau's America.

Pat, you do Pat Gray Unleashed. Like, the idea of working one day a week instead of five, like, kind of sounds interesting. Like, as a host, I kind of get it. I get why you'd want to do it. And of course, this is happening with podcasts now, right? Like a lot of hosts are doing, you know, their podcast only a couple days a week. And so you can see how that would be a nicer lifestyle, especially if you can make the same amount of cash. But like, aren't you surprised that they're like, yeah, Rachel, come back and just do Mondays or whatever she's doing?

Yeah, it's mind boggling. It's mind boggling. I mean, if she was number one. Right. Like she was like beating Fox. Yeah. Then you could understand it. Right.

She's not. No. I mean, beating other MSNBC hosts. Right. But I think she's like 10th or something. Yeah. She is beating CNN too. So.

Yes, but she beats nothing on Fox. I don't think she beats, no. I don't think she beats the morning show on Fox. And she's in prime time at night. So, uh, yeah, it's staggering that they would agree to pay her even 25 million for that one, one night a week.

For five nights a week, it's staggering what she's making. It's pretty amazing. But if you can. do it, you're going to do it. Right? If you can get your employer to sign off on that contract, certainly show me where to, show me where to put my name. Right. Jot it down right now. You want me to lie about Russia? Sure. Okay. I'll do it for 12 mil. That's right. Half price. You want to bash Donald Trump every night? There you go. There you go. Whatever you get. Blah, blah, blah, blah, sure, whatever. I mean, none of these hosts are even distinguishable, I think, to the average person

outside of her, right? Like, does any, like, did you know Lawrence O'Donnell still is doing a show on MSNBC? I only know that because, uh, we featured him in a montage of a whole bunch of hosts. And I thought, huh, he's still on. Yeah. That's interesting.

Like, I, I didn't, I didn't know that before, though. Because you never hear about him. Right. When do you ever hear about Lawrence O'Donnell? No. Never. What's the, give me the, give me your, who do you think is in the line of of MSNBC right now? In the lineup?

Yeah. Like if you're a primetime lineup, uh-huh. If you were to tune it, tune in, what would you see? Would you be able to give this information at all? I wouldn't.

No. Rachel Maddow was one day a week. That's the only thing I can. And Lawrence O'Don. Okay. I assume Chris Hayes? Chris Hayes. Is he on?

Yes, Chris Hayes is on. Now I think he, they've got him doing like a whole week. This poor guy is, you know. What slave drivers? Yeah. That's unconscionable. Let's see.

I'm going to look up this line. Oh, wait. What about Joy Reed? Does she have a show? Oh. Because I see her a lot. I'm going to say, yes, she does. She's, she might be the most obnoxious of them all now.

I mean, I mean this sincerely. I've lived, I work in this industry. I've never heard the name Ari Melbert before, I don't think. That could be it. I doubt it, but maybe.

Really? Yeah, maybe. Then the readout, which is Joy Reed, who we have seen a lot of. I will say, now that I see her face, of course she is, because she is legitimately the single dumbest person ever put on television. And I include everyone on the view on that, I think. That she is like more, maybe I don't know. Has there ever been anyone dumber on the view?

it's okay I think that's what they're seeking is for humankind to just disappear off the planet one day it wouldn't be really all these people problems if it wasn't for all these people exactly and including the globe warming by 0.9

degrees Celsius that might not have happened in a hundred years oh yeah well yeah it's over a century yeah but that might not have happened pat if it weren't for humans? It weren't for human beings. Yeah, but it might have.

Well, yes, it probably would have. But since it has before. Some of it might have, not have. Maybe. Maybe. But we don't know that because it's been actually warmer on this planet in the past. Of course. Without man. So that is kind of weird that it's happened with or without mankind.

And that it does happen that the temperature drives up CO2. And then other times CO2 drives up temperature. It does happen both ways, Al Gore. And we know that for a fact. And even El Gore has admitted that. Yes. And so, but let's get rid of humans. This reminds me of a documentary I was just watching, Pat.

And it had some claims in there that I have not fact checked myself. So I want to just make that clear right now. But the checking I've done, I think this is true. They claimed that Joe Biden was. still currently the president of the United States. What? Yeah. And I keep looking for a way to disprove this.

But every time I check, there is a lot of evidence that this guy is still president. No, we got rid of him several months ago. That's what I thought. I remember he came out. He'd had the debate thing. Yeah. And he was really embarrassing and he was terrible. Oh my God.

This would be horrible if this man were president. This guy has dementia. We got to get rid of him. Quite clearly is just fading away in front of her eyes. And my understanding is, and it's sort of supported by that last story you did, if he's giving out these awards, I think he might still be president. Holy crap. The other thing he did yesterday was he appeared in front of an NBA basketball team.

Now, he couldn't necessarily name what team it was that was standing behind him. You're not going to be able to name the team. Right. I mean, that is hard. When you've invited an NBA basketball team that just won the NBA championship, how would you know who it is? You know, even if that name is in front of you on the teleprompter, it still might be difficult. It might be difficult, right?

It almost hit it last night. Let's see. Let's see. Let me pull this up here. I was looking at it just a moment ago. It is really incredible. It is that currently at 98,395 per coin. Wow. It hit 99,534.

97 cents last night at like 1.30 in the morning. Incredible. So at any, you know, it could at any point, maybe during the show, hit $100,000 per coin. Did you ever think he'd see the day? No. No. I remember when, was it Tikitowari that said it's going to hit $40,000? This was when it was, I don't know, $300 or $2,000 or I don't know, something.

It was much, much lower. And he said it was going to go to $40,000 by the end of the year. I don't think it happened by the end of the year, but it happened later on. And now look at it. Yeah. Now look at it. Because I remember that first. that first like quote unquote bubble when everyone was going crazy about it that first time was

2017 and it hit 19,000 and change and it seemed impossible like everyone was talking about it all the time now you look at the bitcoin chart you can barely see that little 19,000 dollar bubble yeah quote unquote bubble yeah and what's crazy about this is you had a situation where it you know fell off of that 20,000 19,000 level and came down it was lower for a long time in March 2020 you could have bought a Bitcoin for $3,000 and change. Oh, geez. And it's now almost $100,000. And worse than that, when we first started talking about this, it was $300.

Yeah, I mean, it was. $300. I remember talking about it then. And I was going to buy, I don't know, 10. Right. Ten of them. Kind of like a whim, maybe a risky upside play. If you throw a few thousand bucks in, I don't know, but you get 10 of them.

Yeah. It'd be worth a million dollars right now. Glenn has told the story about talking to because he's the worst offender on this though he did buy pretty early he wound up by he's made a lot of money in this I don't have any sympathy for that

I would have been a billionaire okay but you're doing pretty well yeah Glenn did pretty well in the Bitcoin there's no doubt about that but he could have been I bought zero zero Bitcoin so oh and I know you have you know how I know that I look at the chart and it keeps going up right I know and so now now that it's 100,000

thinking, geez, I need to buy a Bitcoin. I'm going to buy one Bitcoin. One. And if you do that, the price will go to zero. Yes, it will. Immediately. You will wipe out the entire industry. In fact, before, and this is true, before I ever purchase any Bitcoin, the first step I do, people are like, well, what's the research you do to go into that? And there is a lot of research. Mainly I go to Pat and see if he's purchased any, because if he has, I know it's going down. And I have really thought about this over and over. I'm like, gosh, I hope it's not so... Because it almost feels like if it hits a certain point of hype,

Pat might be like, you know, maybe I should get involved in this. And that's when you know it's over. That's when you know it's like the next day someone's going to hack it or something. And that's why I didn't... That's why I didn't buy it 300. That's why I didn't buy at $1,000 or $5,000 or $50,000. So do I finally buy at $100? I mean, crazy.

So you do believe... Some people are saying it could go to a million or more. That's kind of moving me right now. That people say, because I didn't believe it was going to go to 40 and now look at it. And so should I believe it when they say it might go to a million or two million? I've heard three million from some people. That's amazing. That would be something else.

Well, here's the thing that I keep thinking of it. I have no idea where the price levels go. But what was true when I first started like. Bitcoin is way more true now. The issue is with Bitcoin is there can only be 21 million of them ever. Right. They can't inflate them. Like they can't print money.

There's a total of 21 million. There can never be more. As a conservative who looks at the government and looks at government spending, and I'm sure this is true with you as well. Like the inflationary cycle of the last couple of years was not a surprise. We knew this was coming eventually. we we there doesn't seem to be either side of the political debate that really has passion to cut budgets now you might say okay well the Elon Musk thing that's going on with Vivek Ramoswamy and Trump like I have real high hope for that and I'm optimistic on it but like you know the real cause the driver of this is not you know even government waste it's you know it's these giant Medicare social security interest on the debt these are things that like there's not a lot of passion in Washington to come But on either side of the aisle, honestly.

And so, I don't know. So all the principles that made it attractive in the first place are even more prevalent now. More prevalent now than they've ever been. Yeah. Not to mention, you have 21 million Bitcoin that is the maximum number. Ever. We know, right, that can ever come out. I think it's, but they'll all be here by, I think the year is 2140.

So we've got some time on that. But most of them are already out there in, in, in, in, in, in, in, circulation in theory. We know that something like 25% of them are lost forever because at the beginning you could get a thousand Bitcoin in a day.

It would be nothing. They cost nothing. If you were mining at the early years of this. What are they lost to? Just people not knowing their password to get back in and claim them? They weren't worth anything. Yeah.

You know, people threw away their computers. They threw away their their accounts, their passwords, their phrases. Yeah. It was like nothing. People were taking them and they were, you know, at the very early years, we're just like buying drugs online. Yeah.

Do you remember the pizza thing? Yeah, the pizza thing, yeah. 500 Bitcoin for two Papa John's pizzas. God. We haven't done this calculation. You know, wow, 500 Bitcoin. I guess it's going to be relatively easy here. 100,000 of Bitcoin.

So $50 million for two pizzas. And they were Papa John's, by the way. Million. It's not like that you imported sallies or pepies from New Haven. You would have had to obviously do the right thing with it, and that's right out the waves. And by the way, the person who got them did not do that. He does not still have 500 Bitcoin. They are not worth $50 million.

But he... He's an investor like I am. I heard you and Glenn talking about the Clear Channel thing that we turned down last week. That's right. This is you too. Yeah. What was the deal? Can you tell people the story? In lieu of $10,000, we were going to get $10,000 worth of Clear Channel stock.

And we're like, no. Because at that time, Clear Channel stock was, I don't know, $3 or something, $5. Had a decent run after that. Oh, it had a fairly decent run. Yeah, because if we would have done that, it went up to 90 and split. and then it went back up to 90 and split again. And I think that happened three times. And our $10,000 investment would have been worth something like $3 million each.

And so, yeah, we're like, no, please. A cute little company from San Antonio. No way. Come on. Why would you do that? No. Everyone's got a story. Not interested.

Not everyone has a story that crazy. Yeah. And certainly not many of these people like Glenn have multiple. multiple stories that are that crazy. But everyone's got that thing. Oh, gosh, I should have done that. I should have invested. And one of the things I come back to is, um, is, so there's 21 million, uh, Bitcoin in the,

in, uh, that can be possibly ever made. Right. We know about a quarter of them are lost. We think. We don't know exactly. In 2020, 23, there were 22 million millionaires just. just in the United States. So if every just millionaire

had one Bitcoin and wanted to get one Bitcoin, there wouldn't be enough for them to have one. Gosh, it's amazing. Right? That's amazing. That's just the millionaires in the U.S. Not like, when we think about the millionaires in China and India

and all over the world, just to have one Bitcoin, there's not enough to go around. Unreal. So what does that mean the long-term price of this, especially now because what you have now is a situation where this is a multi-trillion dollar industry. This is like a $4 trillion industry. It's hard to imagine going away.

Can you think of an example of a $4 trillion industry going away? No. I can't think of one. Not at the top of my head. Are we talking about gold? You're talking about old. What is at this level, right? Like, you were talking about a massive, massive thing that a lot of people have put a lot of time into.

Four trillion dollar industries don't just go away. They don't just usually go away. And so I don't know where this goes. It could, look, it could easily. I guess you could say Enron, that wasn't a $4 trillion. No, no. I mean, it was a seventh largest company in the world at one point. Supposedly.

But, you know, built on a bunch of. House of cards. Yes, a little bit of a house of cards there. Yeah. But yeah, it was a multi-billion dollar company. Yeah. Yeah. But not $4 trillion.

No. And so you just wonder like long term where this goes. This brings you to another thing, Pat. I'll get your take on this. Maybe you have what are your guesses are on this? Because a new study came out. This is from morning console to poll. They asked people across all different age groups, what salary do you have to make to be considered financially successful?

The term is financially successful. financially successful, not rich, but financially successful. How much money do you need to earn as a salary to get to that level? Now, I don't know, what would you say? Depends on where you live. Yeah, that's a good point, a good point. But again, this is an average, so you're going to get an average over the whole country. Okay.

So, like, what do you say? Like, to be, if I were like, that person, they got it together. I'm not, they're not, they're not a private jet. But, you know, they've got a good life. I mean, I would define financially successful, like, you're taking, maybe a nice vacation a year, you got a nice home, not necessarily second home, right? Like you got one, you know, like you, but you can afford nice Christmas presents for your kids. You know, you live in a nice neighborhood, drive a decent car, like not a Ferrari, but maybe, you know, I don't know, a BMW.

Like maybe you're got a BMW three series. I don't know. What would you consider financially successful? How would you describe that? That certainly would be, I would say. It's a good life. 150 for that kind of lifestyle? $150,000?

Mm-hmm. That sounds about right. That sounds like a person who's doing well. They're going to be able to pay their bills. Yeah. You're going to be able to do some nice things. Maybe they go, you know, they get decent seats to a concert a couple times a year. Maybe go to a couple sporting events.

Like, living a decent life. So they asked all, they ask people what level do you have to get to to be financially successful? They asked the boomer generation. And their answer was 100,000. 100,000 bucks a year. Okay. Okay. Mm-hmm.

They asked Gen X. their answer was $212,000 a year. Oh. Okay, so a little higher than your estimate. They asked millennials, how much do you need to earn to be financially successful? Millennials said $181,000 a year. So less than Gen X. A little less than Gen X, reasonable between the two other numbers.

They asked Gen Z this question. Okay. Their answer was $587,800,800. that's what Gen Z thinks you to be financially successful. Wow. $587,800.

So what is the cause of that? By the way, the average across the country is $270,000 because of the high number on Gen Z. Wow. So what is the cause of that? And a couple of theories here. One, they just went through

this inflationary period where everything costs so much. Right? And they're like, holy crap. Like, I can't afford anything. To them, you've got to earn $580,000 to be successful. I think that might be part of it.

The other part of it might just be like, then when I've seen this floated, is it's like social media. Like you're on Instagram all the time. Everybody you see is I got a yacht. And you know, you know, professional athletes make that, you know, millions. Yeah.

Right. So maybe you're just kind of comparing yourself to that lifestyle and your idea of financially successful. It's not the two, you know, the nice home with the picket fence and the BMW and a nice vacation, but it's, you're living in a yacht and you've got, you know, dozens of models around you. You know, maybe that's it. And you see stuff like crypto, right?

Yeah. Where people who are in their 20s put in a few thousand dollars hit on some meme coin and now are driving Lamborghinis around. And maybe your vision of the world's a little warped. Definitely. And I think for Gen Z, their vision of the world is a little warped. and not just in this, but in a lot of things. Triple-8-7-27, Beck, more coming up.

Your perversion of his words and his mission, when his children have asked you to stop invoking his name and perverting his work when he was a proud and unapologetic black man fighting for equality for black Americans and all marginalized people. So you all are entitled. to your opinions, but not a denial of the facts, but I'm not surprised that you would deny American history. A colleague across the aisle invoked the phrase of, we must do everything to stop government-sponsored oppression. I've just enumerated numerous examples, which is exactly why we have legislation and an executive order to reverse this harm.

And that is why I'm committed to opposing this bill and urge my colleagues to do this. the same. I thank my colleague. And I appreciate I love this. My Democrat colleague, for example, find exactly the kind of oppression of freedoms that we're referencing.

How about we'll quote whoever we want to quote. How about that's my First Amendment right? Yes. That's exactly the kind of baked in oppression. Like how dare a white Republican, quote Martin Luther King. We actually had a congressman say that just now in this committee. And thank you, good lady, for once again exemplifying the type of oppression that we stand against.

You know I'm right. You know I'm right. Order. Order. Mr. Higgins has the floor. And we will quote who we please to quote. Thank you. And we will continue to speak freely because, now, I'm a veteran.

That's the country that I served. That's a constitution I sworn allegiance to. And that oath has no expiration date. I will fight for it with my last life's blood. For my right to speak freely and yours, good lady. You will never hear me saying, how dare you, quote, anybody you please to quote and that exemplifies

America precisely the type of institutional oppression that my colleague Mr. Clouds bill for which I'm an original co-sponsor hopes to push back against that's so great

get a Martin Luther King out your mouth I mean what is this the Will Smith award thing Yeah. It's an embrace of the worst moment of Will Smith's life. Yeah.

I mean, he may have had others considering his private life. But the most, probably the worst publicly. Public meltdown. Yeah. And they actually embrace this. Yeah. It's incredible. And you're telling a veteran that he can't, he can't quote Martin Luther King.

Okay. Screw you. Yeah. Exactly. Which is essentially what he said in nicer terms. Everybody on the, these people on the left are just so terrible. Oh my gosh. And it's like, look, you can disagree.

Like Martin Luther King certainly did believe a bunch of liberal things. And by the way, Martin Luther King, not a perfect saint himself. He had some pretty serious private failings. Yes. But he also had some things that were really important that he believed. And we'll quote him if we want to quote him. Yeah. You got no input in that.

Yeah. We don't, we don't care what you think. You know what, to be frank, too. I don't care what the family thinks. I don't care if the family thinks. I will tell you other members of their family are very clearly, Elveda King quite clearly wants him to be quoted by people who, for example, care about life.

So there's no family member that gets the right to say whether another family member gets quoted. But even if there was 100% agreement among the family, whether they wanted me to quote him or not, it wouldn't matter at all. Yeah, because this is still America. Yeah. Right. So does not qualify her for the Mount Rushmore of awful? That's really, I mean, it's pretty close, but really good. Man, there's some really bad people in Congress, which is unfortunate, but true. It's true. It's true. I kind of feel boring putting just squad members up there, though. Yeah. You know, it's like, it's just the, I will say, Eric Swalwell might have.

Oh, oh my God. All right. Who, who, if you have someone else we're forgetting, Swalwell has to be up there. Swalwell is such a Chinese spy for two years. And then you have the unmitigated gall to call to call out other members of Congress for anything. For anything. I don't want to hear of it.

Not to mention, he farts on camera all the time. The man is constantly farting on camera. Okay, so I'm putting Swalawal up there for sure. That's thank you, Pat. Swalwell's up there. Who else should be up there? If you have somebody, AAA 727 BECK,

who should be on the Mount Rushmore of terrible, awful congressman? I'd have to put Swalwell on there. Talib has a special place in my heart. She has to be on there. And so does Ilan Amar for me. I mean, they're both.

They almost have to be there. I feel like AOC has to be up there. So I, you know what, you can convince me to leave either Elon Omar or Rashida to leave off. I got to have one of them. But you want to take one off? I'm okay with that as well. Yeah. Well, let's give some more evidence for AOC being there.

Here she is talking about the Capitol Hill bathroom controversy, which has been going around because there's a transgender person who was just elected to Congress. And so they're wondering, where is this person going to go to the bathroom? Where do they go potty? And that's our, where do they go potty? That's our big issue right now, not whether or not we're sending a long-range missiles to Ukraine and allowing them to use them against Russia. But let's talk about the bathroom situation in the Capitol building. Here's AOC.

It's disgusting. And everybody, no matter how you feel on this issue, should reject it completely. What are they doing? They're doing this so that Nancy Mays can make a buck and send a text and fundraise. off an email. They're not doing this to protect people. They're endangering women. They're endangering women. They're endangering women. And everybody should reject it.

Making sure men can't go in their mouth. I mean, that's just bizarre. It's just bizarre. That you would say that it's endangerment to women by saying that actual biological men can't use the women's restroom. It is women we're trying to protect with that.

She's absolutely terrible. It's incredible. And what, how many years ago would this have been blatantly obvious two Democrats. Two Democrats. Like three? Five? I don't know.

It can't be more than 10. We know for like, I mean, just try to try to trace it back. In 2012, Joe Biden blurts out by mistake that actually they're for gay marriage for the first time. Right. That's 2012 if I, if I'm getting my timeline right.

I think it was. It was during that campaign. I think it was. So they were against gay marriage until 2012. The gay marriage ruling was, 2016, maybe? Where was that? 14 or 16?

In there somewhere. Yeah. But that was still. The transgender thing hadn't started yet. No. I mean, this took off like a rocket ship and it got to this level in a very short amount of time, very short. The other thing is the bathrooms in the Capitol building, do you know that they all have their own bathroom? Right.

In their offices. They've all got their own. I just found that out this week. they've all got their own bathrooms. First of all, that's great. Why is that even a deal? Well, and let's be clear what we're saying here. Because it was used against Nancy Mace, just saying like, well, she's got a private

bathroom in her own office, just have her use that. Why does she have to make that sacrifice? I'm confused. About half the country is female. About 0.01% is trans. Maybe they make the sacrifice. Right. Maybe they go to their private bathroom.

Yes. Right. And is that really too much to ask that if you've got a dangling man unit that you don't go into a women's restroom with it? Is that really? Is that crazy? That big an ask? I don't think so. I don't think it's a big ask at all, Pat.

I don't think it is either. Come on. And if you're going to ask it, you should definitely use the phrase dangling man unit. There's no question about that. part of the story. You must use that phrase. So I don't want your dangling man unit in the women's restroom. No.

I just don't want that. No. Maybe you go into the family place that has the lock on the door and you go into that where you can, where it's like by gender or whatever. You could, it's, it's a family thing or it's, uh, it's, it's not specific to men and women. I've seen those and you can use it either way. maybe you go in there.

Yeah, and here's the thing, Pat. You might say, well, that's a very, that's a slight sacrifice. Yeah. You know what? No, it's not. It's actually better. Here's the thing. Going to the bathroom in a room by yourself better than with others.

It is. It is. It is. Here's the thing. When you're walking, look, you know this and don't deny it. You know it. You're a single man or woman. And you're walking by and you see that.

family thing is open. You're going in. I'm going in. You're going in. You know why? Better. Better. Than going to tinkle next to another dude.

Nobody's coming in and bothering me and starting up a conversation while I'm there at the, I don't like that. No. I don't like it. You don't have some, you're not one of those things where there's eight urinals against the wall and you're in the middle one and the guy comes up and stands next to you. No. You don't have to have that. I don't like that. You don't have to deal with a situation where there's no dividers.

where if you're in a stall, there's an inexplicable 18-inch gap at the bottom. Or heaven forbid the trough. Oh, God, the trough. Where there's no separation. The struggles of men, Sarah. The trough is just awful.

The trough is the worst. The trough is the worst. And at every sporting venue in the world, you encounter a trough. Inexplicable. Why are we peeing into a trough? What animal are we? I don't understand this.

This is why, years ago, Pat, I propose the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Yeah. And what it entails is this. It's simple. One person. One bathroom. I love it.

Every time you go potty, you go potty by yourself. I love it. I don't understand what country we live in. I don't even care how much that costs. Yes. I'm for it. And here's the thing. Here's the thing.

Because cost is what the people bring up when I bring up. And like, I get it. Would it be free? No. Okay. However, we're going about it the right way. We're amending the Constitution. We're not just putting this through some government edict.

That's why he must be on. So he's on there. He must be on the, on the list. Number two, on the list, and there's no particular order here, but it has to be Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi is put together the resume of a champion. Okay. It has to be carved into the Mount Rushmore of Terrible. Number three, Alexandria Acosio Cortez.

She defines a new generation of terrible. Yes. And she'll be terrible for a good long time because I can't ever see her losing that district in New York. No, but, you know, when she wins the presidency in 2028, we can, we'd have to take her off because this is for house members. Right. But that's a few years away. And right now we can all be happy and like act like everything's going to go well for a while.

But God, I will say she was actually technically qualified. She's old enough to run in 2024. But 2028, I think you're going to get real conversation for her as the nominee. I bet you do. I think she's the Bernie Sanders replacement. Right. It doesn't mean she wins. At that point, she'd be 39, right?

And so people, she's in. Yeah, she's in. And then the fourth one, I'm, I'm. for myself here Pat because I think we have broad agreement on those three would you agree between you and I? I think my third one or my fourth one I think I would put Rashida Talib

on there. You need a real strong anti-Semite and there's just nobody who does it better. I would even argue better than Elon Hamar when it comes to pure anti-Semitism. Probably more outspoken than Alana more. Because I mean is she officially

in Hamas? Do we know yet? Is that confirmed? or she just really likes them? Which one is it? I think she's in leadership. Okay. And a boss. They've had some issues lately in leadership.
