The Glenn Beck Program - Newly Exposed Leftist Playbook Lays Out Terrifying Plans | Guests: Carol Roth & Richard Paul Evans | 10/20/26

Episode Date: October 20, 2026

President Trump made many promises in 2024 during his presidential campaign. As we near the midpoint of his term, how well has he done at keeping those promises? Glenn goes through all the promises Tr...ump has kept that the corporate media refuses to report. Glenn breaks down how the Bubba effect is alive and well. Glenn also tells the story of Ahmed Joktan, who went from memorizing the entire Quran to becoming a converted Christian and now evangelizes to Muslims. Is the Bubba effect unfolding before our eyes in the United Kingdom? Glenn responds to a pastor who criticized him by explaining where they agree and where the pastor got off track. Glenn calls out the Democracy Renewal Group's Danielle Reiff for advocating a "new constitutional convention," a thinly veiled attempt to change America fundamentally. Recovering investment banker Carol Roth joins to discuss the high debt, endless spending, and political chaos in France and explains how it is a warning shot for America. Author Richard Paul Evans joins to discuss his newest book, "Mercy's Child." Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Starting point is 00:00:00 Election Day doesn't clear your calendar for you. It'd be nice if it did. Unfortunately, you still have to go to work. The kids still have to get to someplace and somebody else might get sick or the car won't start. And that super important meeting runs long. None of those things care that this was the day you planned on voting. So don't build a plan that only works if everything goes right. Early voting is available everywhere.
Starting point is 00:00:21 If it's available where you live, find out when it starts. Know where you need to go. Look at your calendar. Pick a day when you can actually get it done. because voting is important enough to treat it like something you intend to do, not something you hope you'll have time to do. Go to go to gopvotes.org right now. Find out when you can vote.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Make your voice heard. It's easier than ever. Get the election reminders. Look up your polling location and pick a date to go vote early. Go to gopvotes.org today. That's gopopvotes. Dot org. Do it.
Starting point is 00:00:55 The Glenn Beck program. Got a lot to cover today. I'm going to start with. the election. Voting started, early voting started here in Texas. It might be happening wherever you are. I hope you're getting out and voting. And I know a lot of, you know,
Starting point is 00:02:03 a lot of Republicans are like, well, what of the Republicans are just, boy, I am so with you, especially on the I do that. I mean, I think that all the time about these damn Republicans. However, let's look where we were and let's look what has happened in the last two years. We're going to start
Starting point is 00:02:23 there in 60 seconds. First, let me tell you about Patriot Mobile. Americans have really become good at holding their noses. You know what I mean. You walk into a store, you buy something from a company that doesn't share your values. You know, what choice do you have? They need a product. The company knows that. And they know you're going to keep coming back. So what else are going to do? Well, it's starting to change thanks to some great companies. Patriot Mobile is one of those companies. They're a Christian conservative wireless provider that supports the values this audience cares about, you care about. And you don't have to sacrifice quality. for the service, you know, to make the switch.
Starting point is 00:02:56 All you have to do is go to Patriot Mobile. They have all three networks. They have really great coverage. You can keep your number. You can keep your phone. You can switch them up, whatever you want. Right now for Black Friday, can you believe it's almost Black Friday? They've got a great deal.
Starting point is 00:03:11 Free 5G smartphone plus two months of service for free. So you get a free 5G smartphone, two months of service, free. No excuses. Go to PatreonMobile.com. slash Beck Friday. Kind of like Black Friday, but Beck Friday. What a racist. Why wouldn't he use Black? I don't. Call 972 Patriot.
Starting point is 00:03:32 972 Patriot use a promo code Beck Friday. Get a free phone. Two months of free service. B-E-C-K Friday. Switch today. Terms and conditions do apply. All right. So I want to look at the record here. Because Donald Trump made some pretty heavy promises. And now I don't know about you, But I hate to remind everybody.
Starting point is 00:03:54 The president loves when I remind him and everybody else about how I was not for President Trump the first time around. I wasn't in 2016 because I didn't believe a word he was saying. I'm like, there's no way he's going to do any of that stuff. And he did a lot of that stuff. Now, the second term, I got to tell you, he promised a lot. And he said, I'm going to do all these things. And I'm like, okay, sure. All right.
Starting point is 00:04:21 can you get any of that stuff done? I had no, and remember how you felt two years ago, we were on the ropes, the country is over, if we get Kamala in, we're doomed. He wins, and then what happens? It's breathtaking. For like six months, it is non-stop breathtaking. Never seen anything like it in history.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Let's not forget that. He did that on his own. Okay, so for two weeks from today, America goes in and votes. You might be able to vote now. Last Wednesday, let's look at his record. Last Wednesday, the final inflation report came in at 3.7%. So you know, this is the one thing that nobody explained to the American people and should have been explained. Inflation that Biden had at 22%. That's not going away. Those prices are going to stay. Generally speaking, some will go down a little bit, but you don't ever go backwards.
Starting point is 00:05:20 So Trump needs to bring inflation to the Fed target of 2%. He's at 3.7. Now, gasoline jumped 9% in a single month. The press is calling that a nightmare for the president, and it is. But nightmares last one night, usually. A record is two years. So let me look at the whole record here. Here's what Donald Trump promised he would do, and here's what he did.
Starting point is 00:05:47 I'm going to give you the good and the bad. What he did that nobody saw coming and what he hasn't done, he promised to close the border. Did he do it? For four years, we were told it couldn't be done. You can't. He need Congress. You need a new law.
Starting point is 00:06:02 You need billions of dollars in a decade to be able to stop this. Under the last administration, 11 million encounters. In December 2023 alone, nearly 371,000 encounters at the border. This March, border patrol apprehensions at the Southwest border were 8,300 for the entire month, month after month, after month, and zero releases into our country. Same law, same border, different president. You know, it was never the law that was missing. It was the will that was missing.
Starting point is 00:06:42 This guy has the will to do it. So he promised deportations. By ISIS' own count, more than 356,000 removals just this year up until mid-July. Already more than all of last year. Now, that's not the million he promised, but it is moving in that direction. The same people who said mass deportation was impossible are now arguing about how fast it's happening. He promised energy. Remember where we were.
Starting point is 00:07:15 We were on the Green New Deal. We were killing ourselves by taking our coal fire plants out. We were saying natural gas isn't going to be able to use. We were not going to drill for our own resources. This year, America is on track to produce more oil than any other year in our history. 13.8 million barrels a day. He also promised factories. Well, about 309,000.
Starting point is 00:07:43 manufacturing jobs are projected to be announced coming back or coming in this year. Ask the companies why. Why are we getting manufacturing jobs? Many will tell you because of tariffs, okay? Okay, we're going to get into that second. He also said, no tax on tips. It's law now. No tax on overtime either.
Starting point is 00:08:08 This spring, the average refund climbed past $3,500. $3,500. That is a mortgage payment, a set of tires, a Christmas, a trip to Disneyland with just you. Some things keep going up. Anyway, he also promised lower drug prices. Prescription prices posted their biggest annual drop since 1963. Have you heard that anywhere? 17 of the biggest drug companies have agreed to charge Americans no more than they charge the rest of the developed world.
Starting point is 00:08:48 For decades, you and I have been paying full price so Europe could get a discount. Trump came in, that deal is over. He also promised to clean up crime. Murder rate now is on pace for the lowest rate America has ever recorded. That means fewer funerals, fewer empty chairs at Thanksgiving. He promised to kill the EV mandate. What happened? Congress repealed California's gas car ban. President signed it.
Starting point is 00:09:19 What sits in your driveway today is your decision again. Remember two years ago, it wasn't your decision. He also promised to bring the hostages home. A year ago this month, every living hostage in Gaza came home, all 20. He promised Europe would pay its share. Right. Everybody laughed. This year, Europe and Canada hit 4% of GDP on defense, on the way to 5%. They were about one or two when the president came in, and they weren't going anywhere.
Starting point is 00:09:56 The president of both parties have begged for that for decades. He got it in a year. Okay. What else has he done? Let's look at the map. because the biggest things he's done were never on a campaign sign. In January, American forces captured Nicholas Maduro, brought him here to stand trial for narco-terrorism, a sitting dictator in an American courtroom. By the way, how are the drugs happening on our streets?
Starting point is 00:10:26 How are the fentanyl deaths going on our streets? Any better? In August, the president announced a deal giving the United States also control of 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan oil. The country with the largest oil reserves on earth is no longer run by a man who shipped cocaine and drugs to our streets and sold oil to our enemies. Then there's the Panama Canal.
Starting point is 00:10:53 A Hong Kong, China, China ran the ports at both ends for nearly 30 years. He's like, that's not going to stand. And guess what? Everybody laughed. And in February, Panama's Supreme Court. tore up the contract. China-linked operators are now out. The canal belongs to Panama, but Beijing no longer holds the keys to both doors. Then look to the north, Greenland. He said he wanted to buy it and the world treated it like a joke. I told you he was negotiating. Last month,
Starting point is 00:11:26 the United States, Denmark and Greenland signed a deal with no expiration date. New American bases, American submarines operating freely in Greenland's waters. And China locked out a building bases there and grabbing control of the rare earth minerals. By the way, it was just announced a couple of weeks ago, we're starting exploration for rare earth minerals in Greenland. Now, he didn't get the deed. I told you he didn't need the deed. He got America's northern front door bolted shot.
Starting point is 00:11:58 So that's Venezuela, Panama, and Greenland. By the way, draw a line through all of them. That's not three stories. That's one story. Because for the first time in generations, an American president has treated this hemisphere as ours to defend. Shove China back towards its own side of the world. I've told you I have been over in Europe this summer.
Starting point is 00:12:23 I have met with three different prime ministers and all three of them have said the same thing. And believe me, they don't like it over in Europe. You know what the president's doing? What do you think the president's strategy is? I know exactly, this is the exact guy leans in. We're having dinner and he leans over his plate and says, I know exactly what your president is doing. Your president is making your hemisphere the center of the world and kind of cutting us out of that.
Starting point is 00:12:48 And I don't really like that. I wanted to say, hey, exactly right. I do kind of like that. Anyway, he also promised something bigger. He said, America's golden age is right around the corner. Now you don't build a golden age in two years And you don't build a golden age Without pouring a foundation
Starting point is 00:13:06 So this is why everybody is saying Well, what is he doing? What is he doing for me? He's pouring a foundation. You don't get to live in the house yet. But can you see what he's building? Record oil at home. The largest reserves on Earth opening up next door. Factories coming home.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Hundreds of billions in AI data center Going up here, not in China. The first site of a missile shield over the homeland with the early version of a golden dome over America in 2028. The Arctic secured. The canal cleared. A baby born in America today starts a life with $1,000 invested in this country in an account with his or her name on it. Power, factories, security, and a child who owns a piece of the country.
Starting point is 00:13:54 That's what the foundation looks like. That's setting up the golden age. So those are the promises kept. Now, there are some that he made that he didn't keep, and I think it's only fair to point those out. He promised peace. Well, that one's not happening. Since February 28th, we have been at war with Iran.
Starting point is 00:14:17 A ceasefire in June didn't hold. Didn't expect it to, but it didn't hold. Iran declared the Strait of Hormuz closed. Last month, the president rejected Iran's ceasefire because he said the offer wasn't good enough and it wasn't good enough. And the war he said he would end in a day, Russia and Ukraine is still burning, and that is the cause of our diesel prices. Now, you can believe a nuclear Iran is unacceptable. I do. But a war with, you know, no end is not peace. He also had promised to stop inflation. You strip out food and energy, and inflation is at 2.6%. But gas is up 34% or.
Starting point is 00:14:59 over the year. Home heating oil is up 74% and winter is coming. The prices have outrun paychecks and that's the problem. And the Fed has raised rates in September and there's probably another one coming. America is pumping more oil than ever, but we can't outrun the lack of refineries here. A president can drill, but it takes a decade, you know, and you can't, it takes a decade to build a refinery and you can't drill past a war. The fastest price comes. available for this administration is not a policy, it's just peace. I pray, pieces around the corner. He promised tariffs would pay for everything. In February, the Supreme Court struck down his emergency tariffs and said, that power belongs to Congress. He promised to get spending under control.
Starting point is 00:15:48 This year's deficit is headed towards $2.1 trillion. Our national debt is about to cost cross over 41 trillion. So you can't build a golden age on a credit card. That bill is still open and both parties are signing for it. He also promised secure elections, state-run elections, and many of them still won't ask for an ID or clear their voter rolls. That's a statehouse problem. That is not a government problem.
Starting point is 00:16:20 The Republicans failed on the Save Act. He also promised to unite America. And that one I'm going to give him a break on because that one no president can ever keep. Not that one. Not this president, not the next one. A president can close a border. He can capture a dictator. He can sign a treaty over the Arctic.
Starting point is 00:16:42 But he can't make you love your neighbor. He can't. That promise doesn't get kept in the Oval Office. It gets kept in your kitchen table at the church potluck. at the fence line with the guy with the yard sign that you just can't stand. I think we need to step back and look. I'm giving you the misses as plainly as the wins because that's how trust works. Count your misses as honestly as your wins.
Starting point is 00:17:14 And people can believe both. And that goes for presidents. It goes for networks. It goes for fathers and mothers and anybody who has ever asked somebody to trust them. Not perfect, not finished. but after what we've lived through, I don't know, it looks an awful lot like a rescue to me. So that's his record.
Starting point is 00:17:38 Our job is to promise to weigh the facts, be honest about it, and vote accordingly. In two weeks, the noise is going to be deafening. The pump will still be painful in two weeks. I urge you to ignore the noise. I urge you, yes, to feel the pain and then look at the whole record. raid the record, not the headline.
Starting point is 00:18:04 And that last promise about uniting, that's mine and yours to keep. Not his. All right, back in just a second. Let me tell you about my Patriot Supply. There is a great American tradition that takes place every time a winter storm is forecast. Somebody on television announces,
Starting point is 00:18:23 snow is coming, and it's got, you know what, you have 45 minutes to live. You got to get out and panic right now. There's 47 feet of it. snow coming your way. And every grocery store in the three-state radius has been stripped of bread and milk and eggs. And apparently civilization is going to collapse until it's a rainstorm and it rains about a half an inch. But you got French toast. I mean, you got enough French toast to be able to last you a lifetime. Anyway, when a real emergency hits, you don't want to be competing with
Starting point is 00:18:56 300 other people for the last can of soup and some French toast. You want to be home, warm, safe, knowing your family has what it needs. And that's why I tell you about my Patriot Supply. They have their winter prep bundle. It's designed to help you get ready before the storms ever arrive. And it's supposed to be a bad, bad, cold, heavy snow, hopefully, heavy snow kind of winter. Winter is coming whether you're ready or not. Prepare with glen.com.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Go there and prepare now. Prepare with glen.com. You'll save almost $300 on the complete bundle. don't wait for the forecast to send everybody scrambling again. Go to prepare with glen.com. Get your winter prep bundle while it's still available. Preparewick glen.com. 10 seconds station ID.
Starting point is 00:19:50 I want to bring Jason is because I want to get into a little bit of what Data Republican has released today. Data has a new book out. It's called Unelected. You should get it. It's out today. But she has been releasing some exposés. The Democratic Constitution Forum.
Starting point is 00:20:08 their plan on steroids. A video posted by data shows an online meeting with a Democratic Constitution Forum in March of this year. The Democracy Renewal Group says that midterms present a window of opportunity for the far left, especially if people are nervous about legitimacy. Listen to this. Cut three. I think we have an opportunity. I think the midterms, especially if there's a meltdown around the midterms and a crisis of legitimacy,
Starting point is 00:20:38 could be a real window of opportunity for us to say, okay, some red lines have been crossed. And we can say, but, you know, what we really need to do is transform our system. Let's start a conversation about that. But in order to do that in November and take advantage of the meltdown scenario, we have to get super, super organized in the next seven months. So I think this is a plan that needs to be on steroids.
Starting point is 00:21:07 Can you help us out on that super, super organization there, Jason? Yeah, the woman speaking there. Her name is Danielle Reef. Rife. Yeah, Rife. And her background is interesting, to say the least. She's a former USAID member. She's a retired U.S. diplomat with roughly 20 years at USAID. She's been an advocate of Democratic Transatlantic.
Starting point is 00:21:37 and governance and peace building, quote unquote, and places like Georgia, Uganda, and South Sudan. Jeez. You've done a great job, especially in the Sudan. Great job. So I'm laughing, but I mean, you can imagine these are the kinds of people that are partnering with radical groups talking about doing, I don't know if you're going to play this later, but extra constitutional type things, talking about a meltdown scenario. So they are planning on if the Democrats win, the House, in the Senate, they are planning on going after and creating a meltdown situation to where the president has to act. And this all goes into the color revolution. This is how color revolutions are done. And she should know you're part of USAID. That's part of their main thing
Starting point is 00:22:26 they did. We'll talk about this more in a minute. First, let me tell you about Mercury 1. There is a question I've asked myself a ton. What are we going to leave behind when we leave? not just for our children or our grandchildren, but for people who haven't even been born yet. What are we leaving behind? What will they understand about the things we believe, the things we fought for, the people we tried to help? That's a big part of why Mercury 1 exists. For 15 years, you've helped us build one of the most incredible organizations. We tackle things that are considered impossible.
Starting point is 00:23:02 You've helped families recover from disasters. you've helped rescue people facing persecution and death in the Middle East. We have moved, I got to get the actual number, but it's between 50 and 100,000 people. We have moved into safety and save their lives because of you. Now we have a new home in Irving, Texas, where we can build something to carry our mission forward for generations with a brand new museum.
Starting point is 00:23:26 This Saturday, we are going to be having our annual fundraiser. We would love for you to be there, get your ticket, at Mercury 1.org. It's happening here in Irving, Texas. This Saturday, Tanya and I are the host. We'd love to see you. Mercury1.org. On the latest episode of the Glenbeck podcast, election expert, Mark Halpern says Democrats are weaker than you think. Watch it now on Glenn's YouTube or glenbeck.com. Hello, America. I want to talk to you a little bit about, I want to share some good news, because yesterday I felt like I was just nothing but a little black rain cloud. and I want to share some good news with you. And some real stuff.
Starting point is 00:24:27 I just talked to you about what the record is. And I don't care how you feel about the president or, you know, the Republicans or anybody else. I do care that we actually look at the real record of what's going on. And we remember where we were two years ago. Now, I happen to still believe that God is on the throne. And, you know, so whatever happens is going to happen. And it'll be for our good. That doesn't mean that we don't do our part.
Starting point is 00:24:54 God requires us to do our part. You know, it's not like, hey, you know what, he's got the wheel. No, Jesus really doesn't have the wheel. Put your hands on the steering wheel and drive, you dope. You know, but whatever happens is going to be fine. And I really believe that. Now, let me give you some good news. Before I do that, I want to show you something that is happening in England
Starting point is 00:25:20 that I'm very concerned about. We spoke about this yesterday just at the very end of the show. An anti-migrant activist, Daniel Thomas, has been arrested after a video showed up of him slashing a boat in the English Channel with a knife. Now, these are those rubber dinghies that are coming in with all of the migrants. He was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage with an intent to endanger life and destroying ships under the Aviation and Maritime Security Act of 1990. Apparently, he was in this video, it was live streamed, and there was a French Coast Guard official on the boat with the immigrants. A French Coast Guard official on the boat with the migrants that are coming in, and he comes out to the boat and he slashes like, we don't want you here. Okay, so they arrest him.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Now, here's the reason why this is really important. I want to play, I think it was from yesterday, SOT 18. This is the Bubba effect. If you don't know what the Bubba effect is, you're about to see it in real time. And this is the clearest example of it. Bubba effect is when the government has failed to do what the people of any country believe is the right thing.
Starting point is 00:26:41 And so the people start to take it, take business into their own hands. and somebody is going to do something like this guy, he's going to do something that was wrong. You don't go out and slash the boats because everybody could die, blah, blah, you don't do that. However, the Bubba effect tells you that when they come and try to scoop him up, the people around him say, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Yeah, he was wrong, but you're greater wrong because you caused this. He wouldn't have been doing that if it wasn't for you. and people rally around him. Let me show you now. This is a video that was posted right after he is arrested. And this is the Midlands Patriot Platform. They're all standing together, about 25, 30 of them, in black, with masks on. And one guy steps up and says this.
Starting point is 00:27:36 This is a message to our government. Since the arrest and remand of Danny Thomas, the Midlands section of the Patriot Platform has more than tripled in numbers. Whatever the attention behind is arrest and remand, it has not silenced those who support the platform. If anything, it has brought greater attention to the issues that many people believe are being ignored. People are increasingly concerned not only about illegal migration and the pressures it places on communities and public services, but also how ordinary British members of the public are being treated when they voice their concerns. The response has been clear. The Patriot Platform has grown.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Patriot Platform is now expanding its vetting and internet. administration teams so that we can properly process the significant increase in membership and ensure that everyone joining is dealt with responsibly and appropriately. Attempts to silence this debate do not make people's concerns disappear. They can instead bring those concerns into sharper focus and encourage more people to come involved. The message from the Midlands is simple. People are paying attention.
Starting point is 00:28:39 People are organising. And people expect their concerns to be heard. We will not stop until. we get what we want. God bless Great Britain. So feel one way or the other. This is a very important development. Bubba effects
Starting point is 00:28:55 are very, very dangerous to a country and they're dangerous because they're understandable many of the times. You look at that and go, well, I probably would have done the same thing or I'm glad somebody's out there doing it and that's what makes them so dangerous
Starting point is 00:29:11 because they discredit the government. You know, France, just arrested the guy who started burning, you know, the, what was it, in Limon, the city hall, burn that, you know, 200-year-old building down, all filled with beautiful artwork and everything else. They just arrested him. Guess what? It looks like he was a leader in Antifa. But they've dismissed that. That's what leads to the Bubba effect. Oh, wait a minute. We told you those guys were bad guys, you did nothing. We're not going to let, if you don't arrest him, you don't put them in prison, then we'll start doing something. And that's when it gets very, very dangerous.
Starting point is 00:29:58 Now, let me give you some good news from around the world. Because as I said a minute ago that, you know, I believe that God is in charge. God's working in ways that we might go, well, that doesn't help politically. I don't think God's in politics. In fact, I'm pretty sure he's not in politics. He's into changing people's hearts. And that's what changes culture and that's what changes politics. So let me tell you a story. This is just a new story just out from Ahmed jockton. Ahmed grew up in Saudi Arabia. And he grew up in a house where, you know, God had rules. His father knew all of them because his father was a Mufti, an Islamic legal scholar. So, you know, when somebody needed to be heard on Sharia law,
Starting point is 00:30:54 you know, do we cut his hand off? Do we not cut his hand off? Do we stone her or not? His father was the guy who made the decisions. What is permitted and what is forbidden. By the time Ahmed was 13, he had memorized the entire Quran every word. His school didn't teach English, so when he got into medical school and opened his textbooks, he couldn't read them. He studied medicine one page at a time through Google Translate, believe it or not. Well, that wasn't, you know, going to work. So the Mufti that flew his son to the other side of the earth to Auckland, New Zealand, to learn English. He took a hotel room there. He went to class. Two and a half months went by. And then one night, while he's there, he had a dream. And in the dream, the doors.
Starting point is 00:31:43 to his balcony in his room swung open, light poured into the room, more light he said than the room could hold and in the light in walks a figure of a man and he hears a voice come to me.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Then in the dream that guy shows him a building and it's a building with white pillars in front of it and the voice said go to the house of white pillars and there you shall find the truth. Well Ahmed wakes up and he is absolutely terrified because his dad had warned him,
Starting point is 00:32:17 if you ever see a gin or a genie, that's a spirit and it's evil. And his father had warned him about that. So he's freaked. It's three o'clock in the morning. He goes down, he's so freaked, he goes down to the front desk, and he stands in front of the night receptionist
Starting point is 00:32:34 until the son comes up. Then he immediately calls the travel agency and says, I want to flight home. Well, he goes back upstairs as he's waiting for all that to have. happen. He takes a shower. He goes to class. He's getting English class. He goes to class. But he can't keep it in. He tells the whole room about his dream. The light, the voice, the pillars. Now, the teacher was a Christian. And she listened. And she said something that this
Starting point is 00:33:03 Mufti son was not willing to hear. She said, I think Ahmed you just saw Jesus. Okay. He didn't like that. He leaves class. He's walking the streets of Auckland and he finds it. He's walking down the street and he sees the building from his dream. It's white pillars. It looks just like he saw in his dream. It's a church. And inside was a pastor named Brian Johnson. And for three days, the two of them talked. The pastor and the guy who memorized the Quran at 13 and the pastor who had never
Starting point is 00:33:45 seen him before, they talked about sin, they talked about life, they talked about salvation, they talked about who Jesus is. The pastor even started with the places in the Quran that called Jesus the Word of God because he knew Ahmed was already grounded in that.
Starting point is 00:34:01 Well, Ahmed didn't want to read the Bible. He resisted it. But eventually he read one verse. And it was John 146, I am the way, the truth, and the life. The truth. The same word the voice in the dream had used. You'll find the truth. So the pastor said, you want to repent and follow Jesus?
Starting point is 00:34:24 He was a little surprised when the Mufti's son said, yes, I do. But he'd already put things into motion with the travel agency. So now he's flying home. And he's going into Saudi Arabia. where you can't have a Bible. Well, he smuggles an Arabic New Testament into Saudi Arabia. It's tucked in between all of his English textbooks. The same books he had once needed Google to help him read.
Starting point is 00:34:51 He keeps it hidden until he's reading it. One day, family walks in, they see him reading the Bible, and everybody knew there's trouble. So the brothers come in, and they, beat him within an inch of his life. Then dad comes home. You know, the dad who knows all of the rules, he picks up an AK-47, points it at his own son and says,
Starting point is 00:35:21 I will kill you unless you burn that book. And Ahmed burned it. He later said he did it because he had decided already about that book. He said they could take the paper, but what was already written in him, they could never take. So he burns the book.
Starting point is 00:35:39 but his family disowns him. They remove his name from the family tree. This is just how open, you know, the Sharia law people are. He loses his home. He loses his family. Because of his brothers and his dad, he loses 13 teeth. He goes back to Auckland. He still has scars on his face and on his back from being whipped and beaten.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Today, he's an evangelist. evangelist. He co-founded a ministry called Mecca to Christ. As ministry is online, he's teaching Muslims online in countries where saying the name of Jesus can get you killed. He's now written books, one of them, he wrote with the pastor from Auckland. And if you ask him if it was worth it, he'll tell you through his missing teeth, they never regretted it once, not once. He said, my family took my name off our family tree, but now my name is written in the book of life. Now here's the part of the story that he didn't know until later. Inside that church with white pillars, before Ahmed ever came through the door,
Starting point is 00:37:16 Pastor Brian Johnson had been talking to his congregation and they had been fasting and praying. Not for a revival in general. not for the lost in general. For two weeks, they had been praying for something very specific. A chance to share the gospel with somebody from Saudi Arabia in New Zealand. And on the other side of town, in a hotel room, in the middle of the night, somebody from Saudi Arabia's balcony doors burst open, and there stands a man bathed in light.
Starting point is 00:38:00 Human beings can get used to almost anything, including things they absolutely shouldn't be used to. A really good example. Unfortunately, a lot of Americans have gotten used to being broke two days after payday. Bills come in, money goes out, you just accept, well, that's the way life works now. No, it doesn't have to be that way.
Starting point is 00:38:18 If you own a home, you may have built up significant equity over the years. And depending on your situation, that equity could help you consider. consolidate high interest debt and reduce your monthly payments. And that's where American financing comes in. They help homeowners explore mortgage options that, you know, could put some much needed breathing room back into the family budget. Listen, do not reset your low interest loan. If you have a low interest loan in your house, don't, don't do that. That's not what I'm talking about here. They have a system that leaves that loan alone so you don't reset that. Financing,
Starting point is 00:38:55 will save an average of about $830 a month. That's what anybody from this audience is saving an average of that. You don't have to accept, you know, financial pressure as permanent. Don't. Sometimes it's worth finding out what your options are. Today it is 800-906 2440, 800-906 2440, or go to Americanfinancing. Dot net. NMLS-182334.
Starting point is 00:39:19 NMLS Consumer Access.org. Average savings based on borrowers who save up for 199-99-9-99. Promoting self-reliance over government dependence. Glenn Beck will be back right after this. There is nothing more important than what we can do right now than to vote. Our families and neighbors should join us in vote. I've said many times elections are local, but what does that mean? So many Americans walk in and make their choice at the top of the ballot and then they guess down the rest.
Starting point is 00:39:59 Frankly, that's why our local governments are so screwed up. But Freespoke will help you make in force. decisions for every race and referendum. Starting point is 00:40:33 every single month. It's Election Day that is coming fast. Your ballot is waiting. Download, free spoke, free today. All right. Glenn, I did a groc search comparing the structure of our debt to France before they started going into the streets. Our Social Security is set up almost the same. Most of our debt is held internally. Isn't that more or less of a Ponzi scheme? Well, No, no. Social Security, you know, pays the retirees with the funding that comes in today that you are paying in your taxes. You know, the trust fund is nothing but IOUs. So you say, well, that's a Ponzi scheme. No, it's not. It's not. And there is one clear difference. This scheme, the government made legal.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Everything else that is even close to resembling this, you'd go to jail for, okay? But it runs short soon. And you're going to start seeing these stories. If you haven't already, I think there's one in the show prep today that this is going to run short. And if Congress doesn't act, it automatically cuts because it has to. And today we spend more on our military, sorry, more on our interest than we do on our military. And remember, that's the number one budget item. You know, debt doesn't topple nations, broken prime.
Starting point is 00:42:16 promises topple nations. And greed. And greed. Right now, France, they're in this period of greed. They have everything the socialist are promising over here, and they still want more, and they can't have it. I've been telling you about Patriot Mobile for several years now, and many people have made the switch, and this is for the rest of people that haven't, if it's you, what are you waiting for? There is a lot going on today that we need to talk about, but I want to take a break because I mentioned something last hour, the Bubba effect, and what is happening now in
Starting point is 00:44:45 England and a lot of people in this audience who've listened to me for a long time are like, Glenn, I don't understand now your problem with the Bubba effect. Isn't that the way we were founded on? No, it's not. And it's a subtle difference, but it's a big difference. And I'll explain here coming up in just a second. Also, let me tell you about friend factor. You know, our dogs, I got to tell you, I miss my dogs. I miss my dogs so much. I was talking to someone the other day and they brought up a Uno. And I mean, I got to tell you, it's been almost a year, probably a year. And I still get teary-eyed thinking about him.
Starting point is 00:45:23 I miss him so much. And if there was anything I could have done to help him live longer or happier or healthier, I would have. And we did. I mean, man, we did a lot for Uno. But, you know, their time comes. And unfortunately, their life is a lot shorter than ours. But there is something that you can help ease your dog's, you know, pain.
Starting point is 00:45:44 if they are starting to get old and they're losing joint function they're just not as mobile as they can't kill me when Uno couldn't go up the stairs or jump into the back of the truck your dog has always been a high energy athlete and some of them
Starting point is 00:45:59 yes become a professional couch potato however they are remarkable and they're our best friends give your dog the first bag of friend factor today this is something that helps ease their pain eases their mobility keeps the inflation down,
Starting point is 00:46:15 inflammation down in their body. That's in case you have a Federal Reserve dog. Get your first bag of friend factor today. It's 1995 at Relieffactor.com. That's Relieffactor.com. All right, so let me tell you about a story that I have that I just shared with you about half an hour ago, and it is on the Bubba effect.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Now, if you don't know what the Bubba effect is, The Bubba effect comes when there is absolutely no credibility left in a government because the government has failed to enforce the laws and disorder persists. Now that can be with terrorism. That can be at the border. That can be the crime that you see in your streets. That can be honestly, that can be. corruption at the highest levels and the people just keep getting away with it. And the voter, the average voter says, this has got to stop.
Starting point is 00:47:27 And so the public trust completely collapses. And then the public says, well, I got to do something about this. And when somebody does something about this, the government acts. And the government's like, no, we have to stop this. And that's when the people who no longer trust the government say, well, wait a minute, a minute, wait a minute. Yeah, I know Bubba was wrong for what he just did and he shouldn't have done that
Starting point is 00:47:54 but he's only doing that because you won't do your job. And people who normally support law enforcement side with the lawbreaker because the system is no longer legitimate. Now, I brought this up earlier
Starting point is 00:48:11 play cut 18. There is an anti-immigrant activist in Great Britain. His name is Daniel Thomas. He has been arrested because there was a video of him going out into the water, taking a knife, and slicing up a rubber raft that was coming in. And he was arrested on criminal damage with intent to endanger life and destroying ships. What's crazy about this is that there was a French Coast Guard official in that boat. So the French Coast Guard were not taking them to France,
Starting point is 00:48:46 was helping these people get across from France to England. I mean, it's insane what's going on. So he was arrested, and then all of his compatriots, they decide that they've had enough. And this is the Midlands Patriot Platform. And they put out a live stream video, and this is what was said. This is a message to our government.
Starting point is 00:49:11 Since the arrest and remand of Danny Thomas, the Midlands section of the Patriot Platform, has more than tripled in numbers. Whatever the attention behind is arrest and remand, it has not silenced those who support the platform. If anything, it has brought greater attention to the issues that many people believe are being ignored. People are increasingly concerned
Starting point is 00:49:30 not only about illegal migration and the pressures it places on communities and public services, but also how ordinary British members of the public are being treated when they voice their concerns. The response has been clear. The Patriot Platform has grown. Patriot Platform is now expanding its vetting and administration teams so that we can properly process the significant increase in membership
Starting point is 00:49:53 and ensure that everyone joining is dealt with responsibly and appropriately. Attempts to silence this debate do not make people's concerns disappear. They can instead bring those concerns into sharper focus and encourage more people to come involved. The message from the Midlands is simple. People are paying attention, people are organising, and people expect their concerns to be heard. We will not stop until we get what we want.
Starting point is 00:50:19 God bless Great Britain. All right, so I played that. I've been warning you about the Bubba effects since probably 2004, and I thought it was going to come in the shape of Muslim extremists. And it may still here in America, but it is showing up on the shores of England now because of immigration. and everything in you wants to say, they're right, they're right.
Starting point is 00:50:48 Somebody has to stop this, right? So Jason and Ricky, I want to bring you in because the insiders disagree with me. So I want to go through some of this stuff. Yeah, the biggest comment is the majority of people wondering, well, it sounds like our own revolution was, you know, an act of the above effect. Insider Nicole said,
Starting point is 00:51:09 if you believe rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God, how does that square with being so against the Bubba effect? And one more, Dr. Angry Man, said, I do not understand Glenn's fear of the Bubba effect. This nation was created as a consequence of our Bubba's. Bubba is the first step towards the right of revolution. I'm trying to remember the exact phrase from the Declaration of Independence, that our government should not be changed over, what is it, transient things.
Starting point is 00:51:42 I'm trying to remember. Can you remember that line? Somebody look up the, I think it's the second or third paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, that we just don't change our government over things that are small. Now, none of these things are small, but they went and redressed and redressed and redressed and redressed. They went back and they begged the king for 15, 20 years they were begging the king. Then what did they do? the tea party was not rebellion the way you think the tea party is.
Starting point is 00:52:21 That was very organized, very peaceful. The guys who broke into the ship, they went on, they told the captain, I'm sorry, we're going to do this. And he said, if I don't deliver this tea, then I lose. And they said, okay, then we won't turn you over. We'll throw the tea, so it's a loss. So they didn't come in to throw the tea overboard. They came on to the boat to turn him around when he said, I can't do that.
Starting point is 00:52:50 I will lose all of the money. Nobody will be paid. I won't be paid. They said, okay, then we'll throw it into the harbor. So you've delivered the tea. We took it and we threw it into the harbor. Then they swept up after the boat. After they left, they swept up.
Starting point is 00:53:06 They didn't break anything. They didn't burn anything down. it's totally different. Okay. The problem with the Bubba effect is it starts with the government. The government fails to do something over and over and over again. And because of that, failure becomes a pattern.
Starting point is 00:53:30 And that pattern leads to, I don't trust them anymore. Why haven't they fixed this? I mean, how many times have we said this about voting? Why haven't they? That doesn't make any sense. Why haven't you passed the, the Save America Act. It doesn't make any sense.
Starting point is 00:53:46 Then you get into private action. Somebody finally acts. That's Bubba. Now, this changes everything because now it's a moral inversion. Because the public realizes what Bubba did is wrong. But the answer to that is, well, they, why is it they can't? stop the people coming in from the boats, but they can sure get that guy. And so it begins to muddy the moral laws. Because you support Bubba, even though you're saying, yes, he's breaking
Starting point is 00:54:28 the law as well, which leads to who has the ultimate authority here. If the government won't do it, then we will. Who has the authority to wield that? And so you now is, start to have competing authorities. Okay, what's the problem with that? The problem with that is now it's citizen versus citizen. This is the same reason Antifa says they can go burn things down. This is the same reason that the Marxists say they can go burn things down because they can't get anything done. They can't get anybody to do anything in government. So they have to do whatever it takes. Now, I think they're wrong, but they think you're wrong. Do you see what's happened here? What's happened because of Bubba, because of the other side doing the same thing, who decides
Starting point is 00:55:29 what the government is supposed to do? Who decides when the government has failed? Bubba? Who decides who's guilty? Bubba? Who decides the punishment? Bubba? On both sides. this is where it becomes a problem. This is where it becomes frightening. You know, one neighborhood's Bubba is protecting the store. Another group's Bubba may believe that the store owner is the oppressor, and they're the oppressed, and so we have to burn that store down. Another may believe that the police is the enemy.
Starting point is 00:56:06 Another believes that the immigrants are the enemy. Another believes that the Christians are the enemy, or another Bubba shows up, and it's the Jews or the Muslims or the Socialists or the Conservatives or. the liberal. Each one says the system failed, therefore I must act. At that point, see, everybody thinks this leads to a revolution and a government restored. It doesn't. You don't have a restored self-government. You have competing definitions of justice. And once that's gone, what do you have left? Then it is just survival of the fittest.
Starting point is 00:56:49 Then it is just which one can eat the others. That's the problem with this. It feels right. It even in some cases looks right. Because I'm tired of it too. We all are. But the minute we stop, the minute we ignore our constitution,
Starting point is 00:57:16 the minute we ignore the things and set up the things and do the right thing. And the right thing, look, self-defense is always the right thing. Self-defense is the right thing. Is this self-defense of the nation? Unfortunately, you're not given the right of self-defense for the nation. we have lent that right to our government. And until we have no elections left, until we have somebody who actually says,
Starting point is 00:57:56 like Zelensky, no more elections, you must work through the election process. And for as frustrated as you might get, we are making progress. You know where Bubba is is missing the next step. Bubba is missing the next step at the ballot box. Now, in England, I think it's a little different
Starting point is 00:58:27 because they're not really having elections. They're just appointing the next prime minister. They're just handing it to the next guy. It's insane what's happening. They don't have free and fair election. In my opinion, the way I understand what's going on over there, They're not having free and fair elections. You're not getting a choice.
Starting point is 00:58:47 They're just handing the baton to the next guy. That's more like a kingdom. I've said to you from the beginning of all of this that you have to listen to the spirit because our choices are going. I look at this as a sieve. You know, as we're just constantly being, we're just constantly being shook through a sieve.
Starting point is 00:59:24 We're being sorted. and the big lumps are already out. And when you have a sieve, you strain everything, you get the big lumps out, and then you take another finer sieve, and you sieve the flour that way, and you get the smaller lumps out until it is so incredibly fine. And we're headed towards that place to where the sieve is going to be so fine, you're not going to really know the difference between right and wrong, because it's going to be so damn close.
Starting point is 00:59:56 And that's why if you don't have the spirit to guide you, you're not going to make it. Because there are going to be things that feel absolutely right to you. And honestly, this may just be me. And so you have to listen to me what I say and take it with a grain of salt. I'm not here to tell you what. I'm no moral authority. I am no better than you. I am no smarter than you.
Starting point is 01:00:30 This is my job. And so I pay attention to things. that you don't have time to, but that doesn't mean I'm right. I try to approach everything I do prayerfully, but that doesn't mean I get it right. I am trying to follow my principles and what I believe the spirit tells me
Starting point is 01:00:58 I'm supposed to say and do. And I have news for you. I don't think we're supposed to ever be violent. I just don't, and I won't be. Now, you come on my property and you try to hurt my children, I'll kill you, I'll shoot you in the head. But me going out? No, I won't. I won't.
Starting point is 01:01:22 Because the key word, and I've said this since 2008, the keyword in the future, but the key word now, is chaos. Anything that causes more chaos is not good. Who's the author of all chaos? That doesn't mean you have to agree with me. I would just ask that you would consider it. All right, we're going to take some more of your questions here in just a second. First, let me tell you about Simply Safe. If you wanted to make your house attractive as possible to a burglar, how would you do it?
Starting point is 01:01:57 I mean, right? You'd make sure there are no security cameras. You know, while you're at it, you might put up a nice little sign that says, hey, help yourself. Doors open. Obviously, nobody would do that on purpose, but millions of Americans have homes without a security system, which means they're missing some of the easiest protections. they would want somebody actually to see ahead of a break-in. That's why I recommend Simply Safe.
Starting point is 01:02:18 They've made home security remarkably easy. You can set up their system without tearing your house apart. Their cameras and their sensors help you keep an eye on what's happening. Plus, their professional monitoring options. You can have trained security professionals respond to alarms 24-7, and they can see what's going on in your yard, and then talk to the people who are there. Join more than 6 million people who entrust Simply Safe with their home security right now,
Starting point is 01:02:42 save 60% off with the professional monitoring when you visit Simplysafe.com slash Beck. That's simplysafe.com slash Beck. And when you order right in the Glenn Beck program in the checkout survey, lets them know who sent you. Make sure you tell them it's me. It's important.
Starting point is 01:02:57 Simply Safe. Ahead of crime in real time. 10 seconds station ID. Let me go to Vince, who disagrees me. Vince in Tennessee. Go ahead. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 01:03:18 It's great to be talking to you. I listen to you every morning. Thank you. Yeah, I just wanted to say that I disagree on the facts about the Bubba effect in England, as it is. They in Europe as a whole don't have 15 to 20 years to address parliament and go through that process like we did with the king during the revolution and all that. And for the past at least five years that I've been paying attention, they've tried to address it through parliament as, you know, representatives being elected. So, Vince, I want to say, I may agree with you on England. I wasn't talking about England and France. I was using that as an example of what's happening over there. And I said,
Starting point is 01:04:03 I don't think they have an actual vote to who's going to be their prime minister. I don't think they've had one for a while. So it's different over there. I'm speaking specifically about America. Right, right. And we do have, I think we have, you know, a little more time than they do. But just getting close. Yeah, I agree. It's getting close, but until you don't have a say at the polls, until you don't, I mean, for those who say, I'm not going to vote, well, okay, I mean, that's what you, I mean, you have a right to do that, but you have a responsibility to pick between the people that we
Starting point is 01:04:42 have. So people who aren't voting, you're actually leading us closer to a Bubba effect, I believe, because you're wasting the time that we have. You have a chance to pick, and I know they're not perfect. Some of them are actually kind of bad. You've got to pick. You've got to go exercise your vote. Then you can say, I voted, I participated every time,
Starting point is 01:05:05 and we're still not getting satisfaction. Then you at least have a case, but you want the Bubba effect and you're not voting? I'm not listening to you. You have no right to say that. You didn't do your responsibility. Let me talk to you about relief factor. Your body is running one of the most sophisticated operations in the universe without you even
Starting point is 01:05:24 knowing it. Cells are being replaced. Tissues are being maintained. Your immune system is carrying out millions of jobs every single second so you can function. I mean, it's amazing, which is probably a good thing. Most of us can barely remember to change the air filter in our house. Can you imagine if we had to pay attention to everything going on in our bodies? As we get older, our bodies don't always recover as easily as.
Starting point is 01:05:47 as they once did, and frequent pain becomes a real problem. And that's one reason relief factor is there. It's a drug-free supplement designed to support your body's natural inflammatory response, which plays an important role in how your body deals with everyday aches and discomfort. Over a million people have tried relief factor, and two-thirds of them have gone on to take more. That's a lot of people getting their lives back. Get the three-week quick start. It's 1776.

Starting point is 01:06:31 so many young people are flocking to the DSA, the answer is hidden in Mom Donnie's failed rap career. Read all about it at glenbeck.com. I want to show you how easily it is to confuse things. I just got this in from a listener. Hey, Glenn,
Starting point is 01:07:10 listen to this sermon yesterday, and I am shocked by the near disdain with which this pastor kept referring to you. I have followed this pastor for 20 plus years from First Baptist in DuPont to Richmond First Baptist. I deeply respect his study and his teaching, just as I respect Glens, and I've never seen him as left leaning. He's deeply grounded in the biblical, historic text, and context, truly biblical and Jesus centered. That's what made this so surprising. It's 20 minutes. It's well spent if you haven't, if it has, hadn't reached you yet. Given how passionate they both are about Jesus-grounded positive, in fact,
Starting point is 01:07:48 I'd love to see the two of them have a real conversation. Okay, so I just opened this up, but I haven't listened to very much of it, but I can tell you what the problem is right at the very beginning. So let me play just this opening of this sermon. It's called Do Justice. On March 2, 2010, Glenn Beck told the people listening to his nationally syndicated radio program if your pastor starts talking about social justice, you need to find another church. This program had an estimated 6.5 million listeners at the time, but that warning began to spread like wildfire through the Christian community. It got as far as Richmond's first Baptist church, and the next time I mentioned the word justice from the pulpit, I was confronted by a well-meaning deacon
Starting point is 01:08:43 who said, you've got to be careful about using that word. Why? I said, well, he answered, we don't want people to leave the church. No, no, we don't. But with whatever respect is due, Mr. Beck, we also don't want a radio talk show host to keep us from using a word that shows up over a thousand times in the Bible. and perhaps most memorably in today's call to worship from Micah, chapter 6, where an earnest worshipper asked, with what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high?
Starting point is 01:09:24 Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body, for the sin of my So the prophet replies, he has told you, oh mortal, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Do justice, the prophet says. The Hebrew word is... Okay.
Starting point is 01:10:05 So what's the problem with that? How could I possibly disagree with that? It's going to come as a surprise to this, Pastor. I don't. I don't. Because, Pastor, I'm going to take you, I don't know you, but I'm going to take you at your word that you're an honest and decent man. And so I'm not trying to cast any aspersions, but here's why the problem is.
Starting point is 01:10:29 I want you to go back to the first of your sermon and listen. What did I say? Because you said it. On March 2, 2010, Glenn Beck told the people listening to his nationally syndicated radio program, if your pastor starts talking about social justice. Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What did I say, pastor? I said social justice.
Starting point is 01:10:59 And just like everything, words matter. There's two words there. It's not just justice. I have no problem with justice. Of course. God is just. Of course justice is important. Social justice is not what the Bible talks about.
Starting point is 01:11:17 The Bible never mentions social justice, because social justice is a construct of man. And it's all about collective salvation. And I'm not going to lecture you because you know all of this. This is just, I'm not going to say dishonest. This is, you miss something critical here, Pastor. You and I don't disagree. I don't know what, the motive why you would bring this back from 15 years ago, because
Starting point is 01:11:51 I already had this argument over and over and over again. Okay. Stop taking things out of context. Social justice in the context of collective salvation is dangerous. Now, Catholics came up with social justice back in the 1800s, I think, and it was not about collective salvation. But that's just like what they call cigarettes over in England. They might have called cigarettes that over in England now, or I mean then, you know,
Starting point is 01:12:28 we're not calling them that now because that's not what that word means. Social justice is different than justice, radically different. This is why, you know, the person that wrote in and said, I'm confused because I like both of you. And I think both of you. And honestly, to that listener, I bet we do agree on almost everything. I bet we do.
Starting point is 01:12:51 I'm sure we have differences, but not on this. That's just ill-informed, misrepresented, because he had both words at the very beginning. Social justice, not justice. Now, I haven't listened to the rest, so he might say horrible things, you know, whatever about me.
Starting point is 01:13:09 And he might be right about the rest. I don't know. heard the other, you know, 18 minutes. But I don't think I need to. I don't think I need to because I think that is, that clearly answers that question. And I say that with the understanding that we all make mistakes. We all make mistakes. And I have two ways to go here. I could be a flamethrower, and I can condemn this man. That would be just as wrong. I don't, want my whole point in this hour is we cannot make more enemies we have enough we need to come together but sometimes that means coming together being precise with language um being precise with
Starting point is 01:14:04 ideas and concepts being able to hold two truths in one hand i boy we agree on all of of these really important things, but this one thing we disagree on. And you look at those two and say, how does that balance out? How does that balance out? Because we have to come together. Because the left, and this is one of the things, the Washington Post did a great article today. Well, kind of. U.S. officials quietly advised states fearing Trump of election meddling.
Starting point is 01:14:42 Now, what is this story really about? This story is about a group that includes 10 current and former officials with the experience in the Defense Department, some of whom have previously focused on countering authoritarianism abroad. In other words, what does that say to you? They're part of color revolutions. their efforts are motivated not by political bias, they say, but a growing sense of alarm that President Trump will harm the American democracy by undermining the integrity of the vote to keep the Republican Party in power.
Starting point is 01:15:16 So what does that mean? What does that mean? We heard this in 2016. We heard this in 2020. We heard this in 2024. What are they doing? They are setting a trap. If they get power in the House and the Senate, and this is not according to me, this is, in fact, let me just play this.
Starting point is 01:15:38 This is from Data Republican. Let me see which one should I play. Let me play SOT 4 here. This is a video posted just yesterday by Data Republican. It shows an online meaning of the Democratic Constitution Forum from March with one member, Luke Petrell, introducing himself as part of the Marxist Unity Group caucus within the DSA. the only faction that fights for a democratic constitution. Listen to what he says.
Starting point is 01:16:10 I'm also a member of the Democratic Socialists of America and the Marxist Unity Group Caucus within DSA mugs the only caucus in DSA that talks about the need for a democratic constitution and fought to get language into DSA's program that says our ultimate goal is a democratic constitution based on universal and equal suffrage and a unicameral legislature. The organizations behind No King's protest are very clear that they support the Constitution.
Starting point is 01:16:42 They want to protect the Constitution. So we cannot see just millions of people out there in the streets as actually some alternative. We have to be the ones who are creating an organization that is explicitly anti-constitutional. And I don't know if these other- second. So what's he saying here? He is for a constitution, not our constitution, unicameral. So no house and Senate, basically like the Politburo in the former Soviet Union. So he wants a constitution based on human rights. Well, a lot of countries have started there. The Soviet Union says their constitution was based on basic human rights. I mean, China, I'm sure.
Starting point is 01:17:31 sure they say that about their constitution. No, no, no. When you're constitutional, it doesn't mean you're for a constitution. It means you're for the United States Constitution. So what they're saying and showing in this meeting with data and what the Washington Post, and this should not come as a surprise to you if you watched our special just a couple of weeks ago, this is a global operation to unseat the constitutionally elected people. in our country to unseat them, overthrow, and put in a new constitution with a unicameral Congress that does not have the two houses and the president is selected by the Congress,
Starting point is 01:18:17 the new Congress. Okay. That's their goal. Now, how do they get there? Well, if you understand color revolutions, you understand that the only way a color revolution works is if you have planted the seeds. of distrust, of hatred between two sides, and then you constantly say that the person in power is a dictator, is a fascist. If you can convince enough people that that person is a fascist,
Starting point is 01:18:48 then you have the power on the street and you have enough people in power. This is why they need the House and the Senate to be able to do this, or at least the House, and maybe they can get away with some of it. If they have both the House in the Senate and then they have the dictator in the White House, they have all the tools they need to be able to, when the president is positioned in a way to where you've got riots in the streets everywhere, like France, what's the president supposed to do? He's going to call out the National Guard. But these people have already talked to all of the states, and they've already said, look, if he does this, this is what, what are you going to do? We recommend this because just like they said last time and the time before that, he's going to do these things.
Starting point is 01:19:40 And so you need to be prepared to do this and say that's unconstitutional. So the president would send out the National Guard to quell an uprising. They will call that unconstitutional. And they'll say, see, it's evidence of fascism, which will just add fuel to the fire. is exactly what is happening in France. Now, that hasn't happened yet in France. They're just at the beginning of the burning down of everything. That's going to continue as they get closer and closer to the election because they are already saying Marine Le Pen is a fascist. Why? Because she said, we will have rule of law. Now, I don't know about you, but I'm for rule of law. I'm for a fair
Starting point is 01:20:27 vote. It's why I was for the Save Act. I'm for one vote for each person counted fairly. If you're dead, you don't vote. If you're not a citizen, you don't vote. But I don't care if I lose if that's the system. This is a setup that is happening right now. And this is why we have to be really well aware and understand they are trying, they are going to do everything they can to push every button inside of you. They're going to try to get you angry any possible way. Do not respond that way. Do not go the way. That's what they, you've known this. They have been wanting you to respond violently forever. Don't do it because they are setting you up for a color revolution. And it's all being exposed right now in real time.
Starting point is 01:21:29 More in just a second. Let me tell you about leaf filter. Human civilization is really a, we've accomplished some pretty remarkable things. But men on the moon, we've built machines that can perform surgery, develop computers that can process billions of calculations. And yet, every autumn, dopes like us, get up onto our roofs and we start taking that rotting vegetable, you know, out those, that vegetation, those leaves rotting in our little metal troughs around our roof line all the time. You know, I, I, I, you want a revolution? That's it. That's it. I'm done with
Starting point is 01:22:02 getting up on a ladder and doing that. And here's your revolution. It's leaf filter. It's not something that's really appealing to a lot of people. It's one thing, of course, people do want to lose weight. But, you know, I really want to go that far. You really want to use that? Starting point is 01:24:59 And you're like, that doesn't say the Bubba, I know, I know. But let me take you through that maybe on tomorrow's program. Coming up in just a minute, I'm going to tell you about the economy of France. we have Carol Roth. They made their decision yesterday to not cut their budget. That's what the European Central Bank was demanding that France, you know, it would have to do to be able to be a member in good standing. Now the bank has a decision to make. Do we punish them or do we let it slide and then set that example for Italy and Spain and everybody else that is going through the same problems?
Starting point is 01:25:40 What does all of this mean for you at your dinner table? Carol Roth joins me next. And it is coming to country after country after country because we're all kind of in the same boat. Carol Roth is here
Starting point is 01:28:23 to explain this to us. So we will be prepared and we will know what we can do and how we can prepare, you know, should these things start to happen to us. What is causing the real problem in France? It's been going on for a long time. What's the latest? Carol Roth joins us in 60 seconds. First, Imagine going to a restaurant and ordering dinner and spending, you know, eight hours eating it, then walking out complaining you're still hungry. You'd find a different restaurant, right? You'd spend eight hours in there. You're still hungry?
Starting point is 01:28:51 People do the equivalent of that every single night. You go to bed seven, eight hours. You try to sleep. You wake up. You feel like you need another seven or eight hours just to recover. You know, and then you do it over and over again. There are reasons people don't sleep well. But one of the easiest things to address is what you're actually sleeping on.
Starting point is 01:29:08 and that's where Ghost Bed comes in. They're a premium mattress designed to provide the comfort and support that your body needs for a good night's rest. Starting point is 01:29:52 I was watching what was happening in France this weekend, just freaking out because I'm like, this is a dry run. This is coming here. If we're not careful, this is coming here. So can you give us an update? yesterday, I said that the French were supposed to vote on their new budget. They decided yesterday to postpone that. What does that mean?
Starting point is 01:30:18 Because I thought they were out of time. Well, you know, politicians are never out of time until you vote them out of office. And obviously, they never want to do the right thing because it often conflicts with them having some accountability. They don't want to have accountability. They want to kick that accountability down the road. But what we're seeing in France is, you know, the non-economic version of this is weak men create hard times. The economic version is too much government creates too much debt, creates hard times. And then they're not willing to do anything until everything collapses.
Starting point is 01:30:57 So I saw an amazing stat. Maybe you can tell me if this is true. that more than half of the population of France gets their income from the government. Yeah, this is exactly the problem that France, which, by the way, is a meaningful economy in the EU. It's the second largest. It's $3.5 trillion, which sounds like nothing to us, right?
Starting point is 01:31:22 It's like 10% of our size, but when you compare it to Greece, that's like $300 billion. So within the Eurozone, they're very important. But the breakdown of what's happened there is that they have too little capitalism. And they do have some great companies, right? They've got the luxury goods. They've got agriculture. Airbus?
Starting point is 01:31:40 They had tourism. I don't know how that's going to be impacted now. But the reality is, and this is staggering, Glenn, that 57% of their economy, so almost 60% of their economy comes from public spending. Compare that to the U.S. So at the federal level, we're at about 23%, which is too much, you know, overall about 35 plus percent. So, you know, they are about 50 percent or more, more public spending is a percentage of
Starting point is 01:32:13 their economy than we are. And as you said, that then trickles down to meaning more than half the people get their pay from the government. Everybody works for the government there. And that means that politicians, as you mentioned, they're beholden to, to the people who don't want the government to have any sort of austerity or cutbacks. And so they're gonna vote for their own interest.
Starting point is 01:32:38 And so it ends up being this vicious cycle, which has led to really bad outcomes. If you look at France and just their basic data, we're talking about growth this year that's projected at about half a percent, which is even for the Eurozone is less than half what everybody else is projecting. Their unemployment is double R's.
Starting point is 01:32:58 So even with everybody working the government. It's about 8.3 to 8.4% for the year. And then they still have the same problems that we do, like debt to GDP of 120% and deficits running like 5.5% of GDP. The problem is they're not the world's reserve currency and the world's trading currency. So it hits them harder. And they have all of these demographics. They have an aging population, you know, with bigger pensions and all of these, you know, big issues. The aging population drives more health care spending and whatnot. So they're in kind of the same familiar spot that we're in, but they don't have all of the
Starting point is 01:33:39 benefits that we have as well. So Rob Snyder tweeted something. I want to read it to you. France has free health care. Yes. Paid parental leave, paid family leave, free child care, free preschool, five weeks paid vacation, 35-hour work week, generous unemployment and housing benefits, heavily subsidize higher education, everything the left says they want and they're still protesting and burning
Starting point is 01:34:06 crap down. Yes. I mean, it's, how do you get out of that? Because the ECB, the European Central Bank said they have to cut their spending or they're in trouble. They'll start imposing cuts on them. well, if you can't cut 2% out of your budget, without people rioting the streets and rioting for even more, how do you save that country? Yeah, I mean, it's a really big issue.
Starting point is 01:34:40 You know, I referenced Greece earlier. You know, Greece had the economic issues, you know, back in 2010, 2011. And they were able to stem that because it was a smaller country. it wasn't as sort of important to the EU, not to say it's not important, but not as important as France is at $3.5 trillion now of GDP. So you would need to have their central bank, which is the ECB, get involved, you know,
Starting point is 01:35:07 if there is some sort of a contagion. And a contagion is likely because, you know, the analogy is, imagine the Eurozone is an office building. And the second biggest tenant is in financial trouble where you're an investor, now all of a sudden the entire office building project is in financial trouble. So that's the same issue with the EU. The problem, as you mentioned, is with the ECB, if they do a bailout, which we know is printing money and stoking inflation,
Starting point is 01:35:36 they require austerity. They require budget cuts. And as we have seen, you know, whether or not you want to say these particular riots were related to financial or some other issue, but we do know in the past that any time there has been talk of a little bit of austerity, there has been riots and destruction. And, you know, referencing Rob's post, they have everything. You have the government, you know, spending, you know, the majority of the money of the GDP on these programs. And they're still not happy.
Starting point is 01:36:12 There is no saving this. It's just a question of when the whole thing implodes. So the scary thing is, correct me if I'm wrong, Italy is worse than France. I think they're number one in debt, or is it Greece is no. Greece is number one in debt. I thought Greece was taken care of, but apparently that was just a band-aid. So Greece is still bad. Spain is bad.
Starting point is 01:36:34 Italy is bad. How long does this go on? You know, I'm going to say something shocking to you, Glenn, but the U.S. is bad. The U.S. has a hundred and twenty-three percent of debt to GDP and is running, you know, close to six percent deficits to GDP still. It is spending a trillion dollars a year on interest in servicing the debt. And there's no, you know, no hope for fixing that. And you have all of these DSA people running on these same platforms that we're talking about now,
Starting point is 01:37:07 about, hey, let's find a way to increase government spending. So, I mean, part of, you know, what may or may not give you comfort is that, that everybody around the world is in the same position, we have more strengths because we have deeper financial markets. What does that mean, Carol? I mean, yes, we're all in the same. So do we all just back away and say, okay, all right, we're just going to call it all even? I mean, what does it mean? I mean, so that's sort of a layman's way of saying what could potentially happen here, is that you could end up with some sort of a financial reset, which I know is not. surprise to you because we've been talking about this. You've been writing books about this. I've been
Starting point is 01:37:49 talking about it, writing books about this. So there is a very likely financial reset. It's a question, I think, of when, not if. And then we're going to find a way, you know, whether it's making gold play a bigger role in the economy so that the reset isn't so obvious or finding other ways to inflate away the debt. There's going to be a scenario. And a lot of people are going to be hurt in this scenario because, as we know, there's no free lunch. We can't just call a mulligan, a do-over without there being consequences. And that's going to end up hurting people all over the world. And as we know, when these things happen, it's not just France that could have unrest.
Starting point is 01:38:36 It could spread to other places very easily. And then, you know, that could end up impacting, you know, bigger issues. it could end up creating issues that impact the food supply or energy or other things, and it just becomes a, you know, sort of a vicious cycle. So when you said maybe gold plays a higher role, I mean, even if gold was at $10,000 an ounce, that's still what we have, what, three or four trillion dollars? That doesn't even pay for one year. Using all of the gold that we have.
Starting point is 01:39:06 So what do you mean gold might play a bigger role? I mean, how do you see this playing? And if you haven't, you know, war-gamed with this. Oh, no, we, we have, we've war-gamed. We've, you know, we've read, we've read the issues. So what's the most likely, and what does that look like? I mean, I personally think if you look at the banks that have been stockpiling gold,
Starting point is 01:39:31 and if you look at some of the stockpiles, you know, Europe actually is doing very well when it comes to gold holdings, including Italy, which, you know, had a former ECB, director as its president that said we love gold and you know we're never getting getting rid of it. I think that it will end up being, you know, one of if not, you know, a key reserve currency. You may see some trade and settlement done in gold. Like you said, the price of gold will have to be allowed to go significantly upward to sort of rebalance everything out. And what will probably happen is that the different countries will get together, as they've done many times in the past, and create some sort of an accorded agreement. And this is how, you know, this is going to work.
Starting point is 01:40:23 And here's, you know, who's going to be in charge of what? The exact path of that could take, you know, we have a choose your own adventure book and have, you know, 20 different lanes. But there will probably have to be a sit down. The other option, which we certainly hope doesn't happen is war. because a lot of times when we have these financial resets, you know, every time we have a war, we don't have a financial reset, but every time we've had a major financial reset, not just a, you know, a core, war has been the catalyst. And then it's like, oh, okay, well, now we've got a new regime.
Starting point is 01:40:56 So hopefully, you know, if you're picking a door, let's make a deal, that you're picking door number one, and you're getting a sit down and they're letting, you know, gold float to an appropriate price, and you're doing something to try to get everything under control. The challenge is, though, without people facing the consequences and without getting the muck out of the system, it's just a band-aid. If you don't fix the underlying problem, which is the too much government spending, the big government debt piles, you just end up in the same place in a very short period of time. And especially at the levels we're at now with compounding, that's just going to, you know, grow and grow more quickly.
Starting point is 01:41:41 So, you know, you can let, you can come up with all of these small fixes that we pay the price for on a short-term basis. But without fixing the underlying problem, nothing changes. And in my opinion, Glenn, without some sort of accountability, I don't know what the incentive is for the politicians to fix the problem. Okay. So I'm going to take a one minute break. I want you to just pick it up there. What does that look like? Accountability for who?
Starting point is 01:42:07 What does it look like? what would actually have to happen? And the little guy, I mean, what happens to the little guy? The little guy doesn't have a lot of gold. And last time they did this with gold, they took all the gold away from all the little guys. I'd love you to address that as well. When we come back more with Carol Roth,
Starting point is 01:42:26 get her free newsletter at Carolroth.com. If you're not reading Carol's work, you're really missing out on understanding the world, especially the world of finances. Now, living long enough, you will see that you kind of the world forgets that you spent your entire life
Starting point is 01:42:48 hoping the things that it would remember the things that are important but the reality is that we forget things over and over and over again and elderly Jewish people of today, they've lived long enough and they were hoping that the world would remember and not forget and they have forgotten. They've survived a Holocaust.
Starting point is 01:43:05 They know what happens when anti-Semitism is allowed to grow. When neighbors turn against neighbors, when the world decides Jewish lives don't matter, and then it's everybody's life doesn't matter. They're watching anti-Semitism rise again, and some are living in poverty, some are living alone, and some are struggling just to put food on the table. And that is where the work of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews comes in, and it's so important. The fellowship provides critical food and other essential assistance to the vulnerable. The Jewish people, including the elderly survivors of the Holocaust, but there's also something else that matters just as much as food,
Starting point is 01:43:38 and that is the knowledge that they haven't been forgotten, that even in a world where hatred is growing, there are still people who will answer with love. That's what I want people to know. I want the Jewish people to know they're not alone and that we will not turn our backs on them. It's different this time, and this time we mean it. So real accountability would mean that there are consequences when people take actions. I actually wrote a piece about this a few weeks ago, that if you think about boards of directors or you think about trusts, people who have to manage on behalf of other people, there is a legal fiduciary responsibility that is upheld by the courts. that you have to put the people who you are representing the interest ahead of your own, you cannot be conflicted.
Starting point is 01:44:54 And if you don't, you are taken to court. So why is it, Glenn, that if you have a publicly traded company and you have a board member or a set of board members that does not pursue their fiduciary duty, they're conflicted, that they don't act in the best interest in who they represent, or you have a trust where the trustee doesn't, Why is it that the United States government, the people who represent us in Congress, do not have a fiduciary duty and do not tell me about an oath of office because that is not something that is upheld in court and has any corresponding responsibility? So I am certainly not a lawyer and I don't know how you get that instated without the people who are creating the roadblocks blocking it.
Starting point is 01:45:42 But the reality is it just fundamentally makes no sense that you have the people who represent others on a private level in fiduciary matters and financial matters have this fiduciary duty and our Congress doesn't. If we had any level of accountability or even just some guardrails like, hey, if you don't balance the budget, then you are ineligible to ever be in Congress again. You know, things like that where they actually have to think about what it is they're doing other than how can I, you know, turn this around and lie about this and do something or not do something just so that I can get reelected and retain power. You know, that is the $41 trillion and growing question. Yeah, I would love to see their salary based on what the average salary is doing and how the economy is doing. I know they don't run the economy, but they would certainly know how to get out of the way of the economy if they realized every regulation we put is hurting the economy, and that hurts my own paycheck. You know, I would love to see some conversation, at least, of accountability. When you said that maybe gold goes up, gold goes up to what? And does anyone, I mean, does anyone participate in that?
Starting point is 01:47:05 or do the federal governments and central banks just claim gold as theirs again? You know, I think that we live, let's put this way, there's a think and there's a, you know, a possibility. I think we live in a world right now with social media, with the ability to cause unrest, that if for some reason they tried to confiscate gold again, I think it would be very difficult. Now, to be fair, I also said I thought it would be very difficult to lock down the United States. It certainly wasn't. I did too. I did too. But the people who did not comply are not going to comply.
Starting point is 01:47:44 I'm not telling you to break the law if that does happen. I'm just saying my guess is that the people who didn't comply aren't going to turn over the gold. So when you have the gold that we have and it's only really worth $3 trillion if you inflate the price of gold up to $10,000, how much would the price? of gold have to be to be able to solve these kinds of problems? I mean, the estimate is, you know, 40. And I'm not saying that I think it's going to necessarily go there. I think that 10 is a much more likely number in at least, you know, the next five to 10 years than 40. And by the way, this is not financial advice or financial prediction.
Starting point is 01:48:22 We're just, we're just brainstorming here. But in terms of, but in terms of what, you know, people who are smart who are, you know, in the community who have ran numbers have said, you know, I can justify 10 versus. Carol, I got to run. All right. Welcome back to the program. I am, I'm thrilled to have one of my dear, dear friends on one of my favorite writers, he is a guy who has, he started with a Christmas box, and that is a story that he wrote years and years ago, couldn't get a publisher. Nobody was interested in it. No, no, no, this is a, you're not going to, and so he published, he didn't publish it. He made a Xerox copy of it, if I remember the story,
Starting point is 01:50:46 right, and he gave it to a friend, and that friend copied it and gave it to another friend, and all of a sudden it was spreading everywhere. And people were coming. And people were coming, into the bookstore is going, hey, can I get a copy of the Christmas box? And they were like, I don't even know what you're talking about. And so the word got all the way up to New York and Simon & Schuster like, what is this Christmas box thing? And Simon & Schuster approached him. It was like, we'd like to publish. And it sold millions and millions of copies. And he took a lot of that money and just started a children's charity. And he's now working on his 49th novel just released.
Starting point is 01:51:22 It's, I think it's his first based on a true story. And if you love history, this one is a great, great story on history and has everybody, I mean, has everybody in it from Emerson to P.T. Barnum and everybody else. And a story I've never heard, I'm going to let him tell the story.
Starting point is 01:51:41 The name of the book is Mercy's Child. And the author is my dear friend, Richard Paul Evans. Hello, Richard. Good morning, Glenn. It's good to see you. Good to see you. Okay, so I just started reading it. It releases today. And this is the story of a woman, if I'm not mistaken, she's upstate New York. She lives on a farm. It's the gilded age. She moves down to New York. She wants to get involved. And she finds herself in Hell's Kitchen, New York, which is the worst of the world. Hell's Kitchen. Do you imagine? Oh, my gosh. the 1800s was, I mean, I have read stories where windows would be open and there would be a cop on the corner and the cop would be hearing from two different windows, rape, rape, and they
Starting point is 01:52:31 wouldn't do anything because there was nothing they could do was that out of control. So that's the setting. It was dangerous. Yeah. Really dangerous. And what does she find there? Well, she finds as a child. And so I love, I love the way you set it up, Glenn.
Starting point is 01:52:47 because this is just a woman, she's a simple farm gal, right? And all of a sudden, her husband gets a job as a reporter. She ends up in hell's kitchen. She enrolls as a missionary. She wants to do something with her life. And while she's in the tenement, she hears a child screaming. And the people in the tenement tell her that the child's been, has been beaten and tortured every day.
Starting point is 01:53:11 And what I love about the story is that this is the Gilded Age, this is the time of, you know, right after boss tweet, there's so much corruption and money and that this woman, she's with her love, she just won't give up. And it's a story of triumph, how love conquers this powerful force as she goes to save a child. And if this is a part I love? She says at one point a child, a dog has more rights than a child has. and or her friend says it to her. Her sister.
Starting point is 01:53:48 Her sister says it. Yeah. And she's like, wait a minute. And so who does she contact? Well, she goes, okay, this was so cool about this is because if I wrote it as a fiction, you wouldn't believe it. No. Right.
Starting point is 01:54:02 So what she does, she goes to Henry Berg, this really, he's a really famous man. He's in the newspaper all the time. He's an eccentric millionaire who started the ASPCA, the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. And she goes, I have an animal we need to protect. He's like, oh, where, where? And he goes, well, actually, it's a little girl. And at first she says, no.
Starting point is 01:54:22 And she goes, doesn't she have the same rights as a dog? And he decides to take it on. And it became, a few people know this, but it became the biggest case in America. Newspapers from coast to coast are covering this. And it's like, what's going to happen to this girl? So because at the time, you didn't have her. I mean, beatings, torture. You didn't have a right.
Starting point is 01:54:47 The government had nobody had the right to go in and say, hey, stop torturing your child, right? Right. The police said, if she's killed, then you can come tell us because then we have a murder case. That's incredible. How did you find this story? Well, I found it years ago.
Starting point is 01:55:04 In fact, this is cool. I mentioned it in two of my books. Remember, it was one of your books of the month, Grace, and I mentioned this story. We just went online and found it. And I was working with some famed screenwriters. They wanted to do a movie on one of my books. And he goes, what about this story?
Starting point is 01:55:24 He goes, this is Oscar material. No one knows about this woman who changed America. And at first I said, you know, writing historical fiction, it would take years. And then I all of a sudden, my heart was changed and I jumped in it. And it is so much fun. It's a great escape. It's a story. triumph, you know, this woman not driven by ambition or anger.
Starting point is 01:55:49 She comes with love and follows God and she's able to change the world. And so the laws we have today are in part because of this woman. And very few people know who she is. It's a remarkable thing in that time period. Did you see Cabrini by Al-Hanandro? Oh, I've got to see it. You've got to see it. It's the same time period and the same kind of situation in many ways.
Starting point is 01:56:18 And, you know, people don't understand, you know, they've said, wow, things have never been worse here. Oh, yes, they have. Oh, yes, they have. You know, we've never been, had such unequaled wealth. Yes, we have. The Gilded Age and New York, it's astonishing how that was. The Aster's, the Rockefeller's. All these people are in the book.
Starting point is 01:56:42 And it's like, really? Like Emerson was behind it. Berg is in a fight with P.T. Barnum to sell the papers. But there's a scene in the book I really love. She goes out as a missionary into Hell's Kitchen. And her companion says, look, we're here because we have the cross on. And we help them. Otherwise, they would probably rape us.
Starting point is 01:57:02 And she runs into one of the Irish gangs. And they're throwing rocks at a cat. And she scolds them. She tries to stop them. And she realizes, this is not something you should do. And their companion's like, no, you don't. You don't get involved.
Starting point is 01:57:17 And that sets up, so when she sees the child, it's like, don't get involved. You could do more damage than good. And she can't do it. She's not willing to turn away from someone who really needs help. So, Richard, if anybody reads your books, it's always about a vulnerable child. There's always a vulnerable child in it. And is that? Because I remember you were on my show in CNN,
Starting point is 01:57:40 years ago. And you said something no other guest has ever said to me. And I looked at you and I was like, hi, he's not joking.
Starting point is 01:57:51 You said, I have an uncontrollable urge to spit in your face right now. Do you remember saying that to me? Yeah, I do, actually. I have an uncontrollable urge to spit in your face like now.
Starting point is 01:58:05 You have a context, Glenn. Give context. No, I know. I know. I will. I will. But I mean,
Starting point is 01:58:08 this was the time with the Occupy Wall Street. And I'm like, well, stand in line on that one. But the reason why you said that is because you have Tourette's. I had, yeah, I probably noticed. I have Tourette's syndrome. And I mean, I had this urge. I need to touch sharp things.
Starting point is 01:58:26 I was diagnosed. I had seven sharp things in my pocket. And I have this urge to spit in the face of famous people. And I was in the office. I was in the oval office with Bill Clinton. And I literally had to bite my touch. hung and turned away and my wife saw what was going on and Carrie, she stepped up and talked to the president and was like, because you never want to spit in the president's face no matter on your
Starting point is 01:58:48 problem. Well, some of them maybe, but yeah, rule of thumb, good rule of thumb. Don't spit in the president's face. They've got big guys standing next to them. Yeah. So is, is that what attracts you to this story? Is that what attracts you to these kinds of stories? I, you know, I grew up loving super, heroes, you know, Spider-Herals, you know, Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Beast, and, you know, someone standing up for what's right against huge odds, I think that is so much fun. I love stories of redemption. I love hero stories. And what I love about Edda Wheeler is that she was just, she was all of us. She was, I mean, she was a simple farm girl who just refused to take no for an answer. You know, she just, her love was so great. I think that's, what happened,
Starting point is 01:59:36 eventually everyone came on board. I think that's the problem with our hero stories today. We have gotten rid of all of our heroes and we've gone to superheroes. And superheroes don't teach us anything. They don't teach us anything because they're not us. You know, that's the key to Jesus. We are very much like, we are not him, but very much like him. He was perfect. We're not. But, you know, he struggled. He struggled. Every hero in the Bible was us. I mean, not Tourette's, but, stutterer with Moses, every single one of them had an issue. And so we can relate to them.
Starting point is 02:00:16 Superheroes you can't. And I think we live in a time, Richard, where people forget that it's the ordinary person, usually. It's not the Elon Musk's of the world. It's the ordinary person of the world that does even just one thing in their life that changes lives and it changes everything. I agree. With one exception, that is Michael Vay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you know why kids like the Michael Vays series, I wrote, is because he's a normal kid. Yes. With insecurities. And, you know, that's, this woman is, she is all of us. She's like, she has her doubts. She's afraid. And, you know, she's like walking into a dangerous place.
Starting point is 02:01:04 It's like, she's like this Daniel and the Lion's Den, right? I mean, she's, She's in such a scary place. And it's like, no, I'm not, you know, if not me, who? You know, there's a child in here. And she's clever about how she gets in to see the child. And you can actually go online and see the child. This is, again, this is based on a real story. Most of it's true.
Starting point is 02:01:27 Do you know what happened to the child? Would they grow up to do anything or just? Oh, yes, she did. In fact, the book starts with that. She, in fact, what I love, her name is Mary Ellen Wilson. She had the big scar down her face where her mother cut her with scissors. She had two daughters who were both school teachers. And she walks down and she goes, I have two saviors in my life.
Starting point is 02:01:47 One is in heaven when one is right in front of me. And she said, I had a really good life. And I love that because before she died, she said, I had a really beautiful life. And she had the worst possible life you can imagine. It's because of one woman's love that she would not say no. Richard Paul Evans. If you haven't read the Michael Vey series, you need to. It's a, it's a, it's, it is the best, uh, young adult series that I have ever read.
Starting point is 02:02:18 Um, it teaches the values that we're all trying to teach our kids. Um, Rave and I, we would read every summer you would come out. What were they eight? Were they eight in the series? Ten. 10. 10 series. So for 10 years, Raph and I every summer would read the new Michael Vey.
Starting point is 02:02:34 And he could not wait for that. thing to come out. And we just loved them, just love them. And they're available wherever you get your books. This one is first one, and it is his first, first one based on a true story, Mercy's Child. And it's by Richard Paul Evans. Richard is always good to have you on. Thank you so much. Mercy's Child. God bless you. It's out today. Get it wherever your books are sold. Mercy's Child. Okay, let me tell you about chapter. America has decided that the best way to make something simple was to give everybody 400 different options. You want to buy a toothbrush?
Starting point is 02:03:09 There's an entire aisle. You want to order a cup of coffee? You need to learn a new language. Say, you want to figure out a Medicare plan that's right for your parents. Good luck. Good luck with that. Because there are all kinds of plans with different benefits and cost and coverage. And making the wrong choice is going to cost them huge money.
Starting point is 02:03:28 Licensed Medicare advisors compare options from across the market from chapter. They are not paid to push you towards one particular. plan. That's what sets them apart, makes them unique. Now, enrollment, open enrollment is underway, and demand for chapters advisors has been incredibly higher. I think they've doubled their staff this year and it's still not enough. These guys are so good. I'm telling you, I just got a note from my sister last night. I have to look that back up. She said, I just talked to chapter last night. It's her first year on Medicare and she's like, this is fantastic. These people were so fantastic. You could call in November. Wait times are going to be a little bit,
Starting point is 02:04:05 shorter. You'll still get coverage that begins January 1st. You can call early in the morning or late at night and not have to wait or just be patient with it. Call is free. It takes about 20 minutes, but it's well worth doing. Dial pound 250, say the keyword chapter. That's pound 250,
Starting point is 02:04:21 keyword chapter. Act now before you're left over paying for the wrong coverage for another year. Pound 250, keyword chapter. Common sense is a fleeting quality in media, but around here it's standard practice. Hang tight.
Starting point is 02:04:37 Glenn Beck returns next. I want to tell you, I have to tell you, I have to tell you, by the way, Jason, I'm sorry, I'll get this out of my mind, otherwise it'll drive me nuts. Cult of reason is what they were, what they called it in France, Robespierre, cult of reason. That's right, that's right. Okay, so, sorry, we're having like so many different conversations today.
Starting point is 02:05:25 I want to talk about capitalism done right. and I think this is the way this is the answer to the cancer of communism I want you to watch a movie called Brunello Brunello and it's about a guy named
Starting point is 02:05:41 Brunello Cuccinelli and he is a clothing designer but he is, I think the guy's actually going to be sainted at some point. This guy is absolutely amazing. One of the best capitalist I've ever seen and then what he does
Starting point is 02:05:54 with the wealth that he makes and how he treats his employees globally. I mean, thousands and thousands of employees is remarkable to me. And he calls it, I think, gracious capitalism. And it's the way we should be. It's the way we should be looking at capitalism. Elon Musk is another great example of this. He just gave away, I want to get this right, yeah, $10.7 billion. $10.7 billion. $10.7 billion. he is giving it to the Trump funds. So he's giving it to the children who have a Trump account right now.
Starting point is 02:06:42 And people are yelling, well, you should have just given it to the federal government. Why? Why? Why? So they can waste it so they can do a color revolution someplace else? This one, he's putting his stock into the Trump funds. And you've had several people, what's the guy's name? Is it Michael Dell from Dell? doing the same thing. You have all of these great capitalists giving huge amounts of money. That's gracious capitalism.
Starting point is 02:07:10 That is the free market at its best. And thank you, Elon Musk. I think this is a remarkably generous thing to do. You didn't have to do it. And you did. And I think we should point these people out, thank them for that, and try to model it in our own.
Starting point is 02:07:29 own lives at whatever level you're in.
