And hello, you sick, twisted freak. I'm going to start with something I think people might find surprising if you're looking at the news of the day, or you got our newsletter in,

we give you all of the stories that I am considering putting on the show that day. I'm going to start with something that most people might even just skim over, and you're probably not going to hear it on, you know, you definitely won't on CNN or MSNBC or ABC or ABC, CBS, or NBC. But I don't know if you're going to hear it from very many places. And I think it is the most important story of the day, maybe the month. I'd say longer than that. but crazy things keep happening.

This one will show you the direction of our nation and why you and your friends must pay attention. We go there in 60 seconds. Dream big and sleep tight. All right. So let me tell you a. story that I hadn't heard before. Brandon Jackson. Brandon Jackson was getting a package a few weeks ago from Amazon. And they rang his doorbell, ding-dong. And Brandon Jackson has all Amazon services in his house.

His whole house is a smartphone or a smart house. And it's fantastic. Even the doorbell. and the doorbell he had automated. So when you ring the doorbell, the doorbell says, may I help you? Well, this Amazon driver heard,

and I want to get the exact thing. Excuse me. Can I help you? That's what the automated response said. Excuse me. May I help you? Well, he had his headphones on, and we know because, you know, the doorbell recorded everything. And he said, how dare you?

And took the package, got back into the car, and then called Amazon and said, I've just been called a racial slur. And so what did Amazon do? Well, they shut down. Again, the name I want you to remember here is Brandon Jackson. the guy you'll probably never meet, never hear of again. But you should know, because I think this is a first. Amazon, instead of calling Brandon, their customer, instead, they just shut his house down. So he went to his smart house and tried to open the door and couldn't open the door.

When he got inside, he couldn't turn anything on because everything was off because his is what is it, Amazon Echo was unresponsive. They shut him out of everything. It took him a week before Amazon responded and went, oh, you, you looked at the video? Yeah, yeah. I don't know how he did it, but he looked at the video and showed, the response was, excuse me, can I help you?

it wasn't me, it was your service. And he actually went on and said, I don't think this guy was trying to make a false claim. I think he was wearing headphones and just misinterpreted the message. Uh-huh. Jackson, listen to this in the story. Jackson is now questioning his reliance on Amazon services. Really?

Huh. I don't know if I'd been locked out of my house for. for a week and nothing really worked. And the company that I was paying didn't have the respect to call me and say, hey, dude, what's going on? I don't know. I don't know. I think I do more than question Amazon service or my reliance on Amazon.

First of all, this is exactly what I told you yesterday. I was sensing in England and Great Britain. I told you a couple of stories. One was about being left by a bus service. We were on this tour, and they had this tour bus that they had rented and had it the whole time. They kept switching drivers,

and they were really great except for this one day. and they just dumped us off and they were told, because I heard him, they were told wait here. And that's where all the buses were waiting. And I have your cell phone. I will call you when we're done, but it will be 90 minutes. We're on a tight schedule today. Okay. So I heard all that.

We go away 90 minutes. And our tour guy is like, we've got to get back to the bus. We got to get back to the bus. And there was no bus. and so he called, uh, hello, where are you? But they didn't answer. They didn't answer for like an hour and 20 minutes.

So the tour guide was a little upset and called and said, what are you doing to me? Where is the driver? We have their number. They were told to wait, blah, blah, blah. They said, well, we don't know. Well, okay. Well, can you find them because or send another bus because I got people standing here on the sidewalk waiting for a bus that nobody seems to know where it is.

I don't know, 15 minutes later or so the bus driver arrives. Doesn't say a word. The next day, I see the tour guide. And he said, hey, I got a call from the bus company, the manager of the bus company. And I said, really? Did you get yesterday for free? And he said, no, they actually said, and this is a company that has done a lot of business, a lot of business with this bus company. I got a call from the manager, and they said, they're not sure they want our business anymore.

And I said, what? He said, yes, the manager didn't appreciate the tone of business. of my phone call. And although he didn't hear it, I didn't talk to him. I talked to somebody else that was answering the phones for them. And I asked for a manager. Apparently, they reported that my tone was a little off-putting. Huh.

Also told you a story yesterday at the end of the show about going to a place that was like a I don't know how to describe it. Like a haunted house. It was a historic torture site, but they had made it into some kind of thing where, you know, you go in and you're sentenced and then you go through and you see what happened, what life was like, you know, 500 years ago. By the way, not good for all of you who just want to take us back to the Dark Ages. Not good. So one of the guys in our group, and they're about, I don't know, eight or ten of us, one of the guys is Scottish and is kind of a smart ass. And I was reading the rules of this place.

I'd never seen anything posted like it. Usually it's posted like, you got to be this tall to ride this ride. this was all the rules were to protect the employees from you. And I'm thinking of myself, wow, Scotland is a rough place. I even talk to everybody in the family about it. I'm going to look at this. Have you ever seen anything like this? Who's going through this place?

You will not touch. You will not grab. You will respect the employees. You will not be inappropriate. Wow, okay. So we go through the first room. We're being judged. And this guy comes up and he's in the powdered wig and everything.

And he's like, silence. And we're like, oh boy, it's getting so real. And he's like, you, he points to my wife. You look like a witch. Now, I had a few things that popped into my head to respond, but I didn't say them. and then he went and he humiliated all of us. And then he said to the guy who happens to be Scottish and not the guy to pick. He said, you, you're first.

Get in the box. So he gets into the trial box. And the first question for the judge is he's standing up there with a gavel. He says, where were you last night? And Michael Hort said, well, if you really want to know, should ask your mother. Now, we laughed. Is it inappropriate?

I don't know. Maybe in second grade. Yes. The judge looked at him and said, do you realize how inappropriate that is? And we all thought, wow, he's a good actor. This seems real. He said, that is inexcusable.

put his gavel down and walked out of the room. Didn't say anything else. And we're like, is this part of the show or what? What just happened? We wait a few minutes. The manager comes in and says, I don't know if you saw the rules posted, but please do not say inappropriate things to our employees.

they have a hard enough time. Oh. Okay. Now, we all were thinking we should just leave. But nobody said it out loud, so we all went through. We said it after we got it through with the whole thing. We should have just left. And everybody was like, yeah, I was thinking of that.

I should have said something. So we go through. The very next room is the torture chamber. And somebody has to be strapped to the chair. and the guy looks at the same guy that has your mama jokes and says you. So he straps him down to this chair and he shows him, you know, I'm going to do this to you and I'm going to do this to you. And he's showing all of the torture tools that were used. And then he takes out this big, you know, like clamp or scissor, you know, weird thing.

And he brings it down to his pelvis area. He said, you know what this is for. My friend doesn't say a word, okay, because we're all sweating at this point. Oh, dear God, don't say anything. Doesn't say a word. You know what this is for. And then he turns around to the table and he gets like little tweezers. And he's like, but for you, I'd probably use these.

Now I thought to myself, now that's wholly inappropriate, much more than your mama. what I realized from these two things, we're being put into a situation to where the customer is never right. You're lucky they serve you. And if you say something that they don't like, you're punished. You're paying for the service. You're the customer. You're the one that just ordered things on Amazon and have purchased every little device to run your house from Amazon and are paying Amazon a monthly payment. And they don't call you when one of their employees says, this person just called me a racist name.

They don't even call. They don't check. They don't do anything. because you don't matter. That's the world we are entering. And it's happening everywhere. The worst part is it is happening in business, in government, and in the business of public-private partnerships,

business and government. Did you know the Pentagon has just really, Lisa, like no big deal, I guess, that they have a special team that goes on social media and looks for people who are saying bad things about any of their generals. I don't really know the names of many generals, but all the generals that were involved in Afghanistan, you suck. And I don't have to post that online. I just say that all the time.

Now, maybe Amazon is listening. And maybe I'll get through, I'll get in trouble because of Amazon. but it would be your Amazon that is getting me in trouble right now. Not mine. I really think that we all need to do what he was... Maybe we need to question our reliance on Amazon's service and maybe own our own information and own our own devices.

Wouldn't that be a refreshing thing? By the way, he went on to say, say, I fully support Amazon taking measures to ensure the safety of their drivers. This isn't about the safety of their driver. Their driver was never in jeopardy. Even if he was called names, he was never in jeopardy. He was never out of, he was never in a dangerous situation. What are you talking about?

Wow. Did he really say that? Oh, that is so funny. He's funny about it, but it was like, And I could tell my son was a bit disturbed. It's like, I'm not going to forget your name. And I'm like, I can tell me that in five years. I hope that's still the case.

Part of that is biological. The rest of it just comes from the indoctrination. So great. Oh, good. So great. You're going to love it. You're going to love it. Are there bubbles that we could just put them in so they can't be influenced by any other sources in life?

I did. I did. Do you remember the TV show with John Travolta, boy in the plastic bubble? Yeah, sure. I did bid on that, but I didn't get it. The bubble? Yeah. Just the bubble.

Really? Not for historical significance to actually utilize it. I just wanted to put my children in a bubble. There you. And I thought it would be good. I thought it would be good. By the way, I haven't seen you. since, but we got the entire set, every dish, every plate, every table, chair, picture, everything

from all in the family. Really? The entire set. Oh, my gosh. And I'm going to invite Meathead to come on and have a little chat about all in the family, because it talked about everything, everything. He was a Marxist. He wasn't just a liberal.

He was a Marxist on that show. And they talked about everything. And now it seems like the meathead is the one saying, shut up you. There is a reason why the right to keep him bear arms is the Second Amendment. You lose the second, you lose the first.

The Trump appointed U.S. attorney for Delaware has reached a plea agreement with Hunter Biden in which he's expected to plead guilty to do federal misdemeanor counts of failing to pay his taxes. Biden also faces a separate gun possession charge that will likely be dismissed if he meets certain conditions

according to court documents filed today. Two sources familiar with the agreement told NBC News that it includes a provision in which the U.S. attorney has agreed to recommend probation for Biden for his tax violations. Well, he's been such a good soul for so long. I think, you know, just a light slap on the wrist for Mother Teresa will probably do it. Legal experts also said that the tax and gun charges will likely not result in any jail time. Well, there you go.

For President Joe Biden's son. So now Joe Biden can go from my son didn't do anything wrong to my son. Okay, they pin some misdemeanor charges on him. But he pled guilty and he's paid his crime. He's paid his due to society. He gets away with everything else. I mean, did we even, I guess we've mentioned the tax charges before, but have we ever focused on that?

He did not pay. His income tax for two years, two years just didn't file, just didn't pay, had a, what was it, a $6 million fine on it, somebody else just stepped in as a friend. What happens? People help you out in a time. All the need time. Yeah. People just like, hey, here's $6 million to pay that off. And coughed up the $6 million, no strings attached, and paid his $6 million fine.

like two years after the fine had, let me ask you this. Are you still on the street two years after you haven't paid your income tax? No, sorry, four years after you haven't paid your income tax, two years of a mounting fine of $6 million. Are you on the street? Have they done anything to you yet? Let me ask you this. If you are a... You're on the street, if that's where they left your body.

that's the only if you're a drug abuser and current drug abuser and you go in and you try to buy a gun you fill out a a form for the United States government all over it it says if you lie about any of this you can face up to 10 years in federal prison and face criminal prosecution if you knowingly make false statements. Criminal prosecution for a felony. He's gotten off with a misdemeanor. Now, I'm trying to figure that one out because his dad's really all up on making sure we don't have guns. and yet his son lied on a document, signed his name to the document, say, no, I'm not a drug user, don't have any problems with that. See, this is why they make these documents.

For instance, are you an illegal alien? If you answered, yes, you won't get the gun. if you answer no and you're lying, you go to prison. And these questions are put in there to be able to trap you into several felonies. If you're going to lie about one, you're probably going to lie about a couple of other things. And so each one carries its own penalty. And they lock you up. That's why you don't screw with gun laws.

Don't ever, I don't know a single lawful person that. has a gun that is legal. I don't know a single person who doesn't sweat going into another state, making sure beforehand, am I legal in this state? What is, how do I carry it? When you bring it into an airport, which is completely legal, and you have it legally separated in like 1,400 different boxes, all of them locked, you sweat your brains out. because you could go to prison if you get it wrong. Yeah, I used to live a block away from the border of New Jersey and Pennsylvania on the Pennsylvania side, which has much better gun laws than New Jersey does.

And I was terrified that I would bring my gun to the range or something in Pennsylvania and I don't know, leave it in my trunk, right? And then drive across to get gas in New Jersey, which we did all the time. And if you get pulled over over there and they go through your stuff somehow and find the weapon and come up with some chart, totally different laws. I was terrified to take the thing out of the house because I was afraid something would happen and I would keep it in the car for five extra minutes. I'll stop on the way home and get gas and cross that border. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Even though it would have no, I mean, we've seen people this has happened to

that have gone to prison, moms who've gone to prison because they've just crossed the line like this. And Hunter Biden is with all of the stuff. His dad just gave a speech about how guns can just change their caliber. He knows nothing about guns. I've never seen that magic caliber changing gun, but he is all over wanting stricter restrictions on guns. His son violates a pretty basic one that is clearly marked out on the paper where your signature is,

a felony, a felony to knowingly provide false information. And he gets a misdemeanor? And that doesn't even seem to be part of this. Like they're just going to let him, those are just going to be dismissed if he meets certain conditions. The taxes are the only thing that they're going after him on. After all the things, think of what we've seen. Way too much of Hunter Biden. I never wanted to see this much of Hunter Biden, to be honest with him.

I didn't want to see the pictures that they put on TV. Like that one, right now I'm looking up at Fox. They just have a picture of him in a jacket. I don't want to see that one. But this guy is done and committed crime after crime after crime. Most of them on video of his own cell phone. And yet none of this is going to affect him at all? It's madness.

It's madness. Madness is a great word for it. Because I feel like I don't even understand the world I live in. I feel like if I were to commit any one of the hundreds of crimes you've outlined that he's. committed, I would be in jail for a long time. Oh, a long time. A long time. You may not leave jail. If we committed half, a quarter of the crimes that he is committed. I can't remember. I saw a total just the other day. It was like 400 and some crimes that are provable crimes. We did not even a hundred of those. We would never see the outside of a cell. Never. Never. Never.

and yet this guy's just going to walk with nothing, nothing after all of this? This is really how this is going to end? So here is the latest poll. Do you think that the FBI report from an informant alleging that Joe Biden took a $5 million bribe while he was vice president should be made public or kept secret by the FBI?

83% say the FBI should make it public. Only 17% said it should be kept secret. Most of those were members of the Biden family. 74% of Democrats, 82% of independents and 92% of Republicans say the file should be public. 74% of Democrats. This is not going to last. The center cannot hold with this. Only 45% of voters said the FBI is fully investigating the allegations.

Really? a majority, 55% said the Bureau is not really investigating. That's amazing. That is truly amazing. There's more on a lot of these things, but let me just switch quickly to what happened in Montana. The Highwood Creek Outfitters Gun Shop, it's in Great Falls, Montana.

It's reopened for business. it was rated by the IRS and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives last Wednesday. Okay. There is, apparently it was an IRS violation. So I don't know what that is because they came in and all they did was take all of the documents on showing who has purchased a gun. That has nothing to do with the IRS. So what are you doing? The owner has said that we have a good, we've always had a good relationship with the ATF.

It's not worth not crossing every T or dotting every I. And they just come in and they take 4,473 background check forms. They include no financial information. So there's no discernible reason why. the IRS would need those forms. What they did is they took almost 5,000 Americans' personal information, seized it. For what?

So they can go hassle those 4,500 people? Is that what it is? The owner of this group says they have been the subject of the government surveillance for a couple of years. He said, I have no idea or reason why. I'm guessing it's political. He said, I'm assuming that it's because of the style of weapons that we have and the press that is against them. The current administration seems hell bent on getting those guns out of the hands of average Americans. He said, we have a reputation of dotting all the eyes and crossing all the T's.

It's not worth doing things that are going to get you in trouble. By the way, the IRS, thanks to the Senate, has hired the additional 80,000 agents that for some reason are involved in seemingly gun control. Hmm. But the good news is, let me just go back, breathe deep. This too shall pass. I don't think the Hunter Biden story is done by any. stretch of the imagination. This is all going to come back and roost. And it won't be good when it does. There will be jail time at the end for those who have blatantly broken the law and then used their

political connections to get away with, well, everything except seemingly murder. All right, let me pause. It would be really great if you didn't build. if you didn't have to build a parallel economy in this country, but we have to. We have to. We are not only living in the arena of inflation. I just told you about Amazon about 25 minutes ago, where they actually took the word of a driver without even checking. When his doorbell rang, automatic response from Amazon, the product is from Amazon, it responded, how can I help you? The driver said that was a racial slur. And they shut the guy's house down, his smart house, shut it down for a week.

This is on the documents. There is a date set for the trial in August of this year, August 14th, I think it was.

obviously very, very quick, if that were to be true. However, while a lot of people are sort of freaking out about that, it appears to be very standard. There's a, as a placeholder date, essentially. It will get moved back. There will be delays on both sides. There's a long process that will go on. It does not seem like we're actually going to be seeing a Trump trial in August. No, we'll see it during the primary or after the primary. Yeah, maybe. I mean, a lot of people are saying it may not happen until after the actual general. Maybe not be until 2025. Now, I don't know if they can hold, I mean, I can see why Trump would want it to, why would

you want it to happen unless it's going to be something that's going to be completely resolved in your favor quickly, which I doubt they're going to allow. To insanity. Yeah, exactly. So for Trump's, from Trump's perspective, just drawing it out, I mean, why not? You want to delay it as long as possible. So have you, have you done much thinking on this? A little bit. I was on vacation. And I did, it was nice to, to have kind of the separation of not having to think about it on a day-to-day basis to let it settle in a little bit. I have a couple of legal experts. I think maybe are on tomorrow that we are going to talk to about that strongly disagree with each other. One says, no big deal.

No big deal. It's going to have. And the other one saying, no, no, no, he may go to prison on this one. It's interesting because I think our correct view of how the weapon, the government has been weaponized and the media and all these things around this target Donald Trump. If we really believe that, which we do, right? We do. We would all assume that yes, of course he's going to prison. They have focused all of their energy against this person for how long? Why would we expect him to avoid these charges?

One of the good pieces is that it's being held in Florida and not the District of Columbia. Certainly a positive. That's a positive. It is. there's multiple other cases that are coming down the pike as well. I know. On the other hand, I mean, some of this stuff to me seems completely

people are concerned that this is a gotcha interviewer. I don't ever do that. I don't invite people on my show at least without telling them from me in advance, it's going to be a tough interview. So relax. I am fascinated by what you're doing, but I also am very concerned about it. And I want to hear what you guys are thinking. Well, no, I mean, I guess PR teams and your people and my people, you know, they always have their

opinions on things. I mean, we're a pretty open book, right? And we're pretty excited about what we're doing. And, you know, we love to talk about it with, you know, not everyone loves what we're doing. We've been very fortunate to have, you know, a lot of support. But, you know, I feel like it's our job to have conversations with all of the groups and really educate the people what we're doing and be transparent about it, right? And then let people form their own opinion. It's not really our job to persuade anyone one way or the other. So I'm just, I'm just happy to be here. Okay.

So let's talk about what you're doing. First, I want to state your company's mission and goal through technological and engineering breakthroughs in biosciences. and genetics. You are trying to bring the woolly mammoth back into, away from extinction and back into life. Why? Yeah. I mean, so fundamentally, we're working on three species, the woolly mammoth,

the Tasmanian tiger, and the dodo. And we believe that de-extinction and bringing species back, leveraging all these genetic rescue technologies, not only can help bring these incredible animals back and help restore those ecosystems, but can actually develop technologies that we can use.

to advance conservation because conservation needs more money. It needs more tools, needs more technologies because we could lose up to 50% of all biodiversity between now and 2050 if we're not careful, as well as advanced the same tools and technologies that can be applied to human health care and help from everything from cancer research to genetic engineering and getting rent of certain types of disease states in humans. And so it's kind of a systems model thinking to kind of the one of these big, challenges that we think a lot of technologies will come from it that can benefit both

conservation and humanity. Who's your chief ethicist? So Alta Charo is one of our ethicists. She's our lead ethicist. And we picked Alta because you can learn a lot from a critic. And so we actually went after to talk to it. We after early on our journey, we went after Alta and a few other people because also specifically had debated George Church

years before on why you should not bring back of Willie Mammoth. And so we really want, we really want people like that, like informed critics that can help us do things in the most transparent way and also make sure that we're educating the general public in conversations

like this on what we're doing and taking that feedback. Okay. Is, I mean, I don't mean to be flippant with you, but have you ever seen Jurassic Park? I actually have. have some Jurassic Park. I've seen all of them. I'm a big sci-fi guy.

You know, I've started most, all the companies I've ever started are technology companies. So I'm definitely inspired by Jurassic Park, which was a movie just to remind all the viewers. Right. But is there anything that you won't bring back into life? I mean, you're bringing three species that have been extinct. Is there anything else you won't bring back in? I think you need to be really thoughtful about. the why behind what you're doing, right? And so the species that we're working on served a purpose and filled an ecological niche in their local ecosystem, right? And we're driven to

extinction either directly or indirectly by mankind. So that's where we're really... Wait, the woolly mammoths were killed by man? Yeah, early man actually hunted mammoths. And what's interesting about elephant that most people don't realize is that they take 13 years to get to sexual maturity before they can breed. And there's a 22-month gestation. So you don't have to kill all the woolly mammoths or all an elephant population to push that species into extinction. You just have to create enough that you get that downgrading effect through the population. And then you get genetic bottleneck, which ultimately led to their extinction with genetic bottleneck in the species. Meaning there wasn't enough diversity in the species to continue on. And so same thing

with the dodo, we actually eradicated the dodo. Most people think that we just ate the dodo, but we actually, most of the dodo's died because mankind actually brought in invasive species to Mauritius in the surrounding islands, which actually, you know, killed a lot of the young as well as the eggs since they were laid on the ground since they were flightless. And then lastly, the Australian government paid people through a bounty program to eradicate the Tasmanian Tigers. And why would they do that? Well, now, looking back on it, it was really driven by the sheep industry. So all of the folks that were ranching were actually, they've proven now, we're actually stealing and poisoning and killing each other's sheep for competitive means.

They blamed it on the Tasmanian tiger, also known as the thylacine. But there's no, you know, data to suggest that the thylacine could even, one, attack a sheep or two, eat a sheep. but it's smaller, you know, marsupials in kind of their stack. Okay, so let me go back to the question. Is there anything that you won't bring back? Yeah, I mean, there's lots of stuff that we won't be. We're focused on these three species, right? And so I think that we get asked a lot of time about dinosaurs.

We also get, believe it or not, you can't, unfortunately, for the people that love dinosaurs, you can't bring back dinosaurs. There's no DNA. It serves zero purpose to bring them back. Weirdly, really weirdly enough, though, we get asked about the Megalodon a lot, which terrifies me that people would even ask that question, Glenn. My son would ask that question. Yeah. People ask that question.

And I'm like, do you really, assuming that we could, which we can't, why would you ever, I mean, the oceans are you scary enough? Why would you ever want something like that out there? And so, so we have kind of our ethical framework of what we focus on our species that can help restore. existing ecosystems where mankind had a complete role in or partial role in their extinction. So you have, okay, go ahead. No, finish. Go ahead. No, no, I just say we have some frameworks around it. So there's a lot of things that you can't bring back and there's even more that we won't bring back. All right. So there, the, the woolly mammoth, you say hunted by early man, but the reason why you have the DNA is because they were flash frozen, if I'm not mistaken,

strangely way up north in Russia. Is that correct? Correct. Yeah, they were frozen in the permafrost. And so what happens in the permafrost, unlike what happens in, you know, the rainforest and whatnot. In the rainforest, you get this nitrogen-oxygen cycle where things die to get quickly eaten or absorbed into the, into the forest floor. And then it's kind of kind of, of a rinse and repeat. And the permafrust, it's exactly opposite. Things die. They fall over. Maybe they get partially eaten, but then they get covered with the next layer of snow or ice. So it's really well preserved. And so, I mean, we've, I have not been to Siberia, but Arianna Hussili and George Church,

George being my co-founder, have actually been to Siberia. And actually, when they've extracted mammoth carcasses, they still have, like, blood and tissue in them. So we actually have a lot of tissue. It does degrade over time, DNA, but we actually have 54 mammoth genomes that we've acquired that we've used to build our reference genome. That's kind of our guidebook for our engineering efforts. Okay. So is it true that they, that some of them were flash frozen with like buttercups in their stomach? Yeah. I don't know what was in their full microbiome and then their stomach when they died. But some of them froze nearly instantly and are incredibly well-preserved. What would cause that? There's so many theories, you know, on that, right? Obviously, you know, it's already, you know, sub-freezing temperatures up to negative 40, you know, in the winters. And so if things stop moving, you know, mammoths and a lot of other species, uh, that, that can survive, you know, in not just the Arctic Circle, but Circle Polar North, which is a little bit wider than the Arctic Circle, actually have different ways to

things like hemoglobin and blood genetically than we do. So they actually have the ability to survive and thrive in those environments. And we wouldn't even be able to breathe in some of those environments yet they could. But when that system stops and everything stops moving and that heat generation stops, everything freezes. All right. So when you look at bringing them back, have you thought about the impact, the unknowns you know, who was at Rumsfeld said there's knowns and the unknowns that are unknown.

Have you thought about reintroducing a pretty large species back into the, the ecosphere, and the ramifications of that that are not necessarily good? Yeah, I mean, you always have intended and unintended consequences with whatever you do. If you look at probably one of the most successful rewilding campaigns, rewilding the process of reintroducing a species back into its native habitat that no longer exist there, one of the most successful rewilding campaigns from all time with relatively large animal being, you know, the gray wolf was back in Yellowstone, where we as humanity reintroduced wolves back in Yellowstone after 70, after we called them 70 years before. And that has led to a complete blossoming of that ecosystem.

It's actually added more dire. Right, right, but wait, wait, wait, wait, let's not gloss over because I remember when they were taken. And my grandfather said, what the hell are these people doing? You can't collapse an ecosystem like that. Everything works together. It was the scientist that first said, we've got to get rid of the wolves. And it's going to be fine. And it didn't work out that way.

And the people that I grew up with that are just, you know, farmers and hunters and everything else, we're like, you cannot remove the wolves. So your grandfather was right. And look, just because you're a scientist and you have a PhD does not mean you're right, right? Yes. We aren't right about everything. Our teams, I'm not a scientist. I just have the fortunate, you know, ability to work with really smart people doing really

interesting things. But fundamentally, just because you're a scientist, it doesn't mean you're right. Lots of scientists have done lots of weird things. Your grandfather and the people that you grew up with were 100% right. We need to respect nature, and you need to assume the system works for a reason. And when we interfere with it to your question, you know, there are consequences. And so with what we do know right now about the tundra and the Arctic is that it's a completely degraded ecosystem. But what we know from all of the research of that land is it used to be kind of like Yellowstone.

It was full of different large, cold tolerant megafauna like mammoths and mastodons and muskos. and whatnot. So if we can return those animals, we hope that will help, you know, replenish that ecosystem and build a better diverse ecosystem. And they've done little experiments like this over time, including in a place called Pleistine Park, where they've reintroduced cold tolerant megafauna, not mammoths yet, right? And they've actually seen the benefit of the Arctic grasslands start to come back. So I have to tell you, I'm really torn on your research. which it's easy to say, really bad idea. But you make a good case.

And so I am torn on it. But I'm a guy who thinks what Bill Gates is doing with mosquitoes is a bad idea. Wait, we're going to just... It's a lot easier. Yeah, but we... It's a lot of animals. Oh, sorry, go ahead. That's food for a lot of animals.

A lot of animals. Bats come to mind. Yeah, and it's a lot easier to roll back an unintended consequence from a multi-thousand-pound animal than a mosquito, right? Like when you start to look at the world of genetically modified organisms or GMOs, you know, I think that, you know, we don't have as many, I think, challenges. We have different challenges, but it's a different set of challenges than people that are working with like mosquitoes or gene drives where they really have to be mindful of the

unintended consequences. We definitely need to be mindful of the unintended consequences, but, you know, we're not going to lose a several thousand town animal. Okay, hang on for 60 seconds. I just want to ask you what stage you're at. When are we going to see one of these things? In 60 seconds. First, I want to talk to you about a woman named Natalie. She and her

10 seconds, station ID. So many things are happening in the world that I can't believe I talk about in a serious sort of way. Everything is science fiction and it's becoming science fact. So let me just ask this question. What stage of resurrecting the world? MAMIS, are you at? I think we're closer than some people think.

You know, as I mentioned, you have to go through a whole list of different components like computational biology, cellular engineering, animal husband's, D and Sarah C. So we built those whole team. So we have about 112 people and scientists, mostly based in Texas, that are working on this. And we're on track to have our first calves by 2028. That could slip, but we're pretty confident right now about the timeline. We've already assembled the amount of DNA that we need to be successful. We've already leveraged AI and software tools to map that to the Asian elephant reference genome that we had to also create.

Remember, it's not just about the mammoth. We had to go create a reference genome for the Asian elephant. We've done all of that comparative analysis using AI computers. And then we've established some cell lines and then we've started to make edits. and then actually the CRISPR edits and the other genetic engineering tool edits into those cell lines. And so once we complete our full list of editing, we'll go through the process of cloning, which is also known as somatic cell nuclear transfer, and put it into an elephant surrogate to grow. What you've done now is these are things that you'd never think you'd ever set your own eyes on in your entire life. Didn't even know this existed. This is incredible.

At least I assume, I know a lot of the stuff is it's really deep history, you know, World War II stuff and just crazy stuff. Pilgrims are so deep. All that slavery stuff. dead to rights. Yeah. Really, really incredible history stuff. And then also a lot of real pop culture, amazing pop culture stuff that you've found. Have you seen this? I have not. This is the original telegram from Western, I'm sorry, to the Associated Press from the White Star Line. and it says Associated Press, New York deeply regret

to advise you, Titanic, sank this morning the 15th after collision with iceberg. Serious loss of life. Carpathia pick up many passengers proceeding to New York. Oh my gosh.

I mean, and you know, what I hope you do is when you see some of these things, you'll go and and be fascinated by them. For instance, when you see what we have on the Titanic, it'll blow your mind. It'll blow your mind.

But I want you to go and go home and do research on the SS-Easland. The SS-Easland is almost forgotten in history, and it's been so twisted now that it's like, well, some say it was this, some say it was that. This was a boat that took regular, people in Chicago onto the Great Lakes. And it always was having

problems because it was always top heavy. And Woodrow Wilson, after the sinking of the Titanic, he got into office and he's like, oh, well, we need to make sure every boat has enough life boats for every single person.

And the Eastland, the people that ran the Eastland were like, no, maybe life jackets, but life boats, would be a very bad idea on this ship because it's already top heavy. You will have enough lifeboats for 2,000, and I can't remember how many it were, how many it was. It was like 2,000 people, something like 2,500 passengers. They put all the, they put all of them on because Woodrow Wilson deemed that that was federal law now, and they did it. It didn't even get off the deck.

They put the people on and the whole thing flipped over. And about a thousand people died. Largest loss of life on the Great Lakes still to this day. Because why? Government. They decide they're going to do something and they know the answer. And we've got the experts. That's incredible.

Yeah. I really is. And I know you've been looking at some of the, before I left you, we were talking about some really incredible World War II. Nazi history stuff that you might be able to acquire? Were you able to get that? What is it about you? Sincerely, what is it about you? Are you trying to get me?

Really? Do you have like a thing for my wife or do you just want to break us up? You know, I think it's the pain that you'd go through is the real. I mean, your wife's, of course, very beautiful. But I would also, it's the utter pain that you'd go through. when she actually dumps you. That I'm looking for... Well, she's all...

Now, she's... I'm going to come home and she's going to go, what was that all about? I'll say, what? What was what all about? Well, I'm just curious if you have... Look, at the museum time is coming up,

So before that, there was announced an auction about some documents that came from Hitler and like his speech of the acceptance speech of the 1930 election in his own hand. Now that may not sound very impressive. And I would agree with you because who needs that, right? Oh, a museum would certainly need it. Sure. But also all of the hand-signed documents calling for the execution of everyone involved in Valkyrie. And I know you like Tom Cruise.

Her liking Tom Cruise is not going to get you out of this. And all of the documents that go right to eugenics and human experimentation, all of that stuff. It was coming up for auction and I thought, well, I don't have the money. I'm going to just bid very low because I won't get anything. And when I say very low, it's probably not the definition of very low, honey, that you have. But I didn't think we would get really any of it, let alone all of it. and the money needs to be wired today. So, you know.

Oh, wow. That's how it came out then. It has to be wired today. I have lost sleep over this last few days. I've been tossing it to her. I cannot sleep. I'm like, she's going to kill me. You're saying she doesn't know yet.

Now, I mean, now she knows, obviously. I'm hoping not because she's somebody coming over to the house to do something because our house is almost finished. So I'm hoping that she's not listening. It really is. The only way you can deal with anything now is through comedy. I mean, if you don't laugh at it, you're just going to have to look it in the eye in a different way, which I don't know. Humor is the only way I can look at anything. It's like that where every news story I kept saying was you would see like a name that was clearly not a white guy and they're like, we're looking into white supremacy. What makes this funnier if you're listening to us, if you're listening to us, if you're saw the visuals. The first guy was wearing like a giant sombrero. You know, clearly, clearly not in the clan.

Yes. And just for the audio, obviously a guy from SoundCloud whose name is Starburst. They're like, we're going to make sure they're just looking into ties with the Nazis. So you used to be with Stephen Crowder, you worked with him for a while. Two years, yeah. How many shows did you guys produce a week? We did four for a long time, yeah. So you're doing three.

It's really great. Does it ever bother you that shows, you know, like, I don't know, Stephen Colbert, have like 70 writers? Yes, because they come up with nothing. That's why during the writer. Don't you think, man, I got to get on that. I write one good joke a month. Yeah. And I'm good.

Well, it's because they don't actually hire based on talent. They hire based on, I guess, looks, if you want to say it. They're like, okay, you fill an exact bracket. that's why when the writer strike happened what do you guys want more it's like you're not producing anything so they want you they want to raise it's like wow would you ever do

that while chat GPT is just out no I mean everybody's talking about man this thing could write anything we're going on strike as writers yeah this is terrible that this soulless robots doing a better job than us it's completely unfair

It basically just looked at them and said, oh, we can just take every single niche and then write the exact joke that you did. A robot. Right. Yeah. It's completely sad that it figured it out, the rhythm. Are you married? I am. Wow, you found somebody that would live with you.

If he acts a certain way, apparently in the future, pleasant, I don't know. He's got to be personable. He's got to smoke crack and hang out with hookers. Right.

And then they'll all go away. Is it the one where he left it left it in a trash can outside the elementary school? No, that was his then-girlfriend, former brother's wife that did that. Oh, okay. So that's okey-dokey. Yeah. Okay. He just left it unlocked in his glove box.

She took it out and then threw it away in the trash. Oh, sure. This one has to do with his having a gun while having an addiction. Yeah, oh, yeah. This goes back to him lying when he bought the gun saying, I'm not high. Look at me. I've definitely been high and bought drugs off of somebody who's had a gun because I'm in recovery.

Yeah. But yeah, I've never been in that. Like, that's the only part where I empathize with him in the slightest bit is because I was an addict. But he's so beyond the point of me being understanding. So this is why I'm actually really disgusted with his family. Yes. Because he enable him beyond anything. Beyond all imagination.

Yes. He clearly has a problem. I think, I mean, why would you take videos of you committing crimes and then keeping it along with all the crimes that you're doing with your father, who's vice president in the eyes, why would you do that unless you either don't trust your father? And so you're holding it as evidence, which I think is good. Or you just, you, you are crying out for help or want to destroy, want to stop. If you're, if you're leaving laptops for Geek Squad with all that evidence on it, you're begging your dad to hug you. Yeah. You know what I mean? You really are.

Well, but not too vigorously. Well, no, no, you're not begging. Not in the shower. Yes, I was going to say, you're not trying to get. You're not, well, that's Ashley. That's scary, isn't it? These people could get away. I mean, you wouldn't survive.

No one would survive the amount of evidence just in her diary. Yes. Saying, I think dad abused me. I have recollection of being in the shower with dad. You wouldn't survive just in social. circles, let alone still be president of the United States. Absolutely not. If Trump has an empty Nike box, they're trying to bring on federal charges.

Granted, him behind the wheel of it is the scariest thing imaginable. So is it harder? to do a comedy show now because life is parody. I mean, it's like, you say, you make up some crazy idea and it's funny. It happens tomorrow. It's so good. I mean, part of it is and isn't because of the fans who come out and see me are already fans of me, but you do get people in the audience who don't know what I do, and either

they're going to like it or sorry for that. Oh, yes. Yeah. And then some people get very angry. Like even, you'll even say a line that's very simple, like, I have a boy for now, you know, and just kind of toss it out like that. You get to feel like, those are the things that I absolutely love. You just,

you will say something that is so outrageous. And instead of recognizing it, you just move on and you say something else even more outrageous. Right. I mean, you're just building. I mean, I don't know how you're not probably an actual prison, not just Twitter prison, but actual prison. It's odd. It's nice that we

have freedom of speech somewhat. That's the problem. It is going away because people pretend it's not, but it is. And you notice that. And even on stage like last week in Austin, like even right after I made that joke, I said, no offense to, I don't know, half of you. And then you do see a couple people in the audience who get it, but you'll notice somebody who's transgender and you're kind of go, okay, I wonder if they're going to let. And then they do. And you go, okay. But then the person who does get offended is somebody who you don't think would. And that's the person who walks out. You can never tell who's going to have a sense of humor anymore.

How many times before all of this madness? How often did you have people walk out? Oddly, not that much. Okay. When it became virtue signaling, like I had a guy in Tacoma who stood up and it was during a bit. I was talking about the female athlete, male to female. Yeah. And she...

No, just male to male. Yeah, male to male. And wearing a female swimsuit. Correct. The one who looked like Howard Stern. She was lovely. You know, the one that you could recognize her because she had... She was the one wearing all the gold after the meat.

And I said, and the whole joke I said, if I was to compete as a woman, I wouldn't be taking home any trophies. They'd just be like, who's that fat girl? I think she has emphysema. Her testicles are hanging out of her bathing suit. And they're like, that's Deva. She's always in the shower watching us. Okay, all right, all right, right, right. That's why the show air is at 10 p.m.

10 p.m. Make sure that you find it. He is really funny. But this guy stands up and he goes, this is the most homophobic show I've ever seen. You can always try to rile up everybody in the crowd. and I said, and he's pulling out his camera, and I go, how, I'm making fun of me.

And you can tell other gay people in the crowd, and he's trying to get a video on me. And they all agreed. And he's like, no, and he's trying to get the phone. And I go, no, what part of that was me making fun of anybody else but me? And he's like, no, you are making fun of it. This is the most anti-LGBQ show I've ever been to. I go, explain to me where that made fun of anybody else,

but my physical appearance. And then he storms out because he starts putting his phone away, gets to the bouncer. And the bouncer's like, you have to pay your tab. You can't just leave it. So then he goes, I may have overreacted. I want to go back in. He goes, that's not how this works. So it was just amazing, though, for him to get called on that, you know, because it's like he wanted, he did it on purpose to get his own video to get hits and to get clicks on me.

It does seem like a brilliant way to get out of paying a tab. though. It does. I mean, it's going to work sometimes. I'm sure it does work for some people where they're like, oh, it's great. That's how you just get a free meal. It's my virtue signaling. Your white claws on us, sir. But remember, it doesn't happen at a Dave Landau show.

they were trying to send there, but she didn't. She seemed to think it was fine. Okay. I mean, I don't know. I didn't see it, so I can't, I can't comment. But she's way more fired up about this stuff than I am. I would be surprised if, like, I mean, she's basically on a personal jihad.

Yeah, she really is. Like, you know. So the fact that she wouldn't care that much about it would surprise me if it was really in your face. Well, it is, it's being deemed by Hollywood as a complete flop. A flop. Yes, I have heard that. That is huge. That's not one, that's not a borderline call.

Yeah. Seems like, it seems like the Pixar thing is run out of steam. You follow the stuff. I don't know if it's just Pixar. I really don't. I'm not sure it's just Pixar. I think it is part of the Disney contagion. It's like, I don't trust them anymore.

Yeah. You know, I'm not going to, when I hear a bunch of people that I trust talk about it, but really, I trust not taking their kids. Yeah, no, I mean, look, I think that's, they had this thing that was magical built up over so many years because of Walt's vision. They had the number one position of trusted companies and not just trusted companies, trusted with your family and children. Do you know how valuable that is? Oh, my God. It's incredibly valuable, especially now. You know, as a person raising a couple of young kids, 10 and 11 years old now,

I've gone through these past few years. You're really watching what they watch on TV. You can't turn on the Disney channel. You can't put them on Disney Plus and assume they're going to watch something safe. And there are examples of this. Dude Perfect is a good example of this. Their YouTube group, they make trick shots and funny videos that kids love. kids love these guys.

They're right down the street. Yeah, they're in Texas. And they're awesome. And they're really entertaining their videos. They're well done. And they never cross lines. I never, I could put them on for the kids. They will love everything they're watching.

And I will never feel like, oh, geez, I shouldn't have let them watch that. And it never burns me. And you know what kind of, like, what a feeling that is for a parent to be able to just let them watch something and you don't have to hang over their shoulder and see what it is. Doesn't happen. And, you know, of course, these guys are, you know, very big Christians, and that's a big part of what they're trying to do. But they're also putting out good content, right? It's content that kids actually want to watch.

Right. And that is a magical formula. Disney had it forever. Had it locked down. Flushed it. It was, I mean, when I was a kid, it was like the shield. It was like you, there was no way you were going to break that. You could always take your kids to a Disney movie.

They'd always like it, and it would always be safe. That was like. Stu, in the 1980s. I used to do shows with Disney, okay? And I would broadcast from Disney. They had people listening to the broadcast to make sure. And I did one point, hi, kids.

They came in to the studio and said, never do that again or we cut the broadcast.
