Well, folks, the MAGA fans are finally getting what they voted for.
And newsflash, they don't like it very much.
More war, higher gas prices, a con man in the Oval Office, who will lie to them every single day.
And many of these Republicans are starting to realize that, man, maybe that's not the best way to run the United States of America.
And so a lot of Republicans are leaving Donald Trump's base.
The Wall Street Journal just published this article, the GOP's stronghold, where anxiety over the war is already on the ballot.
A lot of these MAGA fans and former MAGA fans are nervous about what this Iran war could mean
for them, their families, their communities, and the future of the United States of America.
So we're going to talk about this and the somewhat of an exodus we're seeing in the
Republican Party, maybe a small one to start, but we'll talk about that and this article in just a
moment.
Before I do any of that, though, please make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video,

Let me know what you think about this story.
If you're on Apple or Spotify, please make sure to rate the show five stars and follow
along, it goes an incredibly long way. And I just have to start with this. You know, I saw this on
Twitter, and it's anecdotal. It's one person. But this account called Red Pill Media, which,
you know, you kind of get a sense of which side of the aisle they're on, right? They said America
was better under Biden. Music to my ears, these MAGA fans, these America First people,
are realizing that actually Joe Biden was pretty good at his job. You know, in this really complex
world that takes intelligent, competent people in these positions of power, Joe Biden did a really
good job. And so you're kind of seeing this more and more on social media of people saying,
not so happy with where we are, even saying they want Joe Biden back. I mean, they like Joe Biden.
And just generally on Donald Trump's polling, it is not great. We're 420 days into Donald
Trump's term, which really feels like it's been 420 years. The president's net approval rating is
negative 17. He's underwater. Underwater. Has a
a 40% approval rating.
And look the trend.
I mean, just look at it.
It's been going down since day one of Donald Trump's second term, just down and down.
He's actually more unpopular now than he was in his first term.
His first term was considered devastating.
In terms of his popularity, he obviously lost major, major control and seats in the midterms,
then lost in 2020.
But, man, this really nasty approval rating.
And I know I had to show you this video.
This is an interview with a Trump vote.
voter in Florida. And it's from MS now. And even he says, you know, I miss Uncle Joe. I want Joe Biden back
in the Oval Office. Listen, this is great. In Trump in the last election, he promised to bring down
prices. What do you make of that campaign promise? He did vote. He said he'd have gas under $3 and
now it's right at five. And I mean, honestly, it's something that he stole from somewhere. And now
we're at what, $5 a gallon? He's saying about for our safety, our safety.
leave somebody alone they won't bother you he said that the small increase in prices is for safety i guess
one do you feel more safe in this country right now and two is it worth the price of gas is that safety
worth it a small increase on prices it's a dollar it's a it's over a dollar more than what it was
it was at uh it was almost that two dollars in something sense he was bragging the other day on news
190 or 290 somewhere, it's $5.50 a gallon.
We don't want off of hopes and dreams.
And as far as being safe, this point in time, anybody can do anything.
So as far as safety, he ain't doing nothing for my safety.
Is there anything else you want to say about the price of gas,
about the cost of living, about the experience of going through right now?
I would just wish he'd keep up on his campaign promise
and say he was going to put it under $3.
he'd end that war so fast, but here it is, what, five years later,
helping his buddy out get his more money,
and then never mind charging us Americans, all sorts of money for fuel
that you just stole from Venezuela.
Do you regret your vote right now?
Well, between him and her, I thought he was the better choice,
but honestly, I missed my Uncle Joe.
Because, I mean, yeah, there was a lot of craziness going on,
but it was a whole lot calmer than this.
It didn't affect my day-to-day life.
I was a nobody and I was balling then.
Now,
Wow, I miss my Uncle Joe, says this Trump voter.
And don't even get me started on him saying that he thought
Donald Trump was better than Kamala Harris.
That is a ludicrous statement, just ludicrous.
Truly, anybody that believes that I don't know if there's a way to reason with somebody
who genuinely in their heart believe that Donald Trump would be more competent
for the Oval Office than Kamala Harris.
but he sounds like somebody who won't be voting for the Republicans in the midterms.
And I guess that's all we can really ask, right?
Maybe learning from their mistakes.
And that brings us to this Wall Street Journal article,
the GOP Stronghold where anxiety over the war is already on the ballot.
And this is in Kentucky, Ruby Red State.
I mean, this is as Republican as it gets.
Roberta Wolf, a nurse from nearby Florence, Kentucky,
voted for Donald Trump in 2024 because she saw him as more focused on the economy,
which, again, is just, you know,
and draining the swamp in the federal government.
But now she sees the U.S. involved in another Middle Eastern conflict,
and it, quote, scares the hell out of me.
Quote, we've got our own problems, and it's so far away.
Wolf said over lunch recently at the hive,
a restaurant and coffee house owned by the mayor of this suburb near Cincinnati,
pointing to rising gasoline prices and tepid jod growth,
she said, we can't be completely isolationist,
but sometimes you have to stay within your own home.
And this is a graph showing you how gas prices have just spiked.
under Donald Trump.
The guy who said, you know, under three a gallon.
He even said, we'll have it under two a gallon.
Well, look at it now.
Completely going up in a vertical way.
Two weeks after Trump's decision to take military action in Iran,
more than a dozen interviews with voters here in a Republican stronghold,
revealed anxiety over the potential for another elongated U.S. war
to distract from domestic concerns.
Most polls since the start of the U.S.
Israel bombing campaign find that the U.S. involvement is unpopular
with about 55% or more of voters opposing Donald Trump's decision to go to war.
Polls by Fox News, NPR, PBS, Quinapeak University, find support at about 84% among the
GOP for U.S. action or Trump's handling of Iran, but the polls found somewhere between 11%
and nearly 25% of Republicans opposed Trump's handling of Iran.
When you have 25% of your base saying not a fan, that is devastating, really bad numbers
for Donald Trump.
In a recent NBC news survey, 90% of Republicans who consider themselves part of Trump's MAGA movement supported military action against Iran, but among non-Maga Republicans, only 54% supported the attack.
The NBC News poll also found that voters see inflation and the cost of living as the top issue facing the nation.
And that is also really bad for Donald Trump because he keeps going around saying affordability is some kind of hoax, that the Democrats are making it up and everything is so great, the economy's perfect.
and everything is wonderful under him.
Well, voters, even people who voted for him, are saying,
I don't think so.
You heard that guy say, I want Joe back.
I want Joe Biden back.
Average regular gasoline prices nationally were around 368 a gallon on Saturday,
a 23% increase before the war started at the end of February.
In northern Kentucky, most stations recently showed prices approaching $3.50.
The volatility is, of course, rooted in the Strait of Hormuz,
where Donald Trump has absolutely no plan to open it back up.
He didn't even plan for Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz.
So anybody out there, including the Republicans who might be watching, although I think
those maybe don't exist right now, the Strait of Hormuz is not getting opened up anytime soon.
This is from Zachary Mertz, an attorney and Republican activist in nearby Campbell County.
He said, when you hear about these Strait of Hormuz, it's because there's going to be
crazy fluctuations in the gas prices.
There was that meme that went around when everybody would stick stickers to gas pumps of Joe
Biden pointing at the gas prices saying, I did that.
Well, it's the same thing with Donald Trump.
Yeah, you know, I really want to see some of those stickers put on gas stations for Donald Trump now.
You know, all those Republicans who bought them from Amazon and put them on the gas stations,
they're all really quiet right now.
Here is Edith Riley, a Trump supporter who waited in line outside of Donald Trump's rally in Kentucky recently,
saying it's going to have short-term financial impact, but it's going to be for the greater good and long-term stability.
Zechariah Young, an electrician from Williamstown, Kentucky, said taking military action in Iran
was long overdue. Young, who also stood outside the Trump rally, said Trump's actions were
part of the process of the U.S. becoming less reliant on energy from the Middle East and becoming
more self-sufficient. So, okay, wait, okay. So he is coming up with a new reason for the Iran
war that Donald Trump has not even said, because Donald Trump said it was to protect the United
States from attack. He said it was because of nuclear weapons. He said that Iran was going to
attack the United States in the Middle East and so he had to take action.
I mean, there have been shifting explanations here.
And now Zechariah Young is coming up with his own justification.
It's sounding like this Trump supporter is kind of trying to cope, trying to come up with
anything to make it make sense and maybe justify the broken campaign promises.
But still, Friday's price of around $99 a barrel of oil is below June 2020's average of around
127, although it recently spiked up to around that range under Donald Trump.
economists say the threat to the economy isn't just about the price of a gallon, it's about the economic
anxiety that the war produces. Quote, war is an economic shock that goes far beyond oil, said
Justin Wolfers, a professor of economics and public policy at the University of Michigan.
When consumers feel like the world is more uncertain, they become, quote, less willing to make
large, long-term investments like buying a house. Nobody can even buy a house right now, by the way.
Donald Trump has done nothing about that. For Ashton Rose, who works as a cook at a restaurant in Cold
spring, it means putting less fuel in his Chevy to keep costs down and scouring local gas
stations for the lowest price. Quick question, again, for MAGA out there, is this the golden
age? You know, Donald Trump said there was going to be a golden age in the United States under him,
and so I'm just wondering when is that going to kick in? Is Americans who live in Kentucky,
a Republican state trying to go gas station to gas station finding the lowest price? Is that the
golden age? I just, you know, I can't tell. Rose said he voted for Trump in 2016, but didn't
cast ballots in the last two presidential elections and has been disillusioned by what he's seen
then. Quote, I don't see how it's benefiting the American citizens in any way, shape, or form.
He said of the Iran war as he filled up his tank. So you're hearing from a number of different
Republicans there, the gentleman in Florida, who we just heard from, a lot of people in Donald
Trump's base who are unhappy. They don't like the direction that this country is going in. They don't
like what Donald Trump is doing with this war. They don't like what they're seeing. And that could
spell a lot of trouble for Trump in the midterms. I mean, we just saw his polling. It's mediocre at best.
That might be a generous word to describe it. It's pretty bad. And so we shall see what happens,
but a lot of Republicans, even in a ruby red district in Kentucky, saying, maybe not. So anyway,
please make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment. Let me know what you
think about all of this. If you're on Apple or Spotify, please make sure to rate the show five stars
and follow along. I really appreciate you all at home and you being in this fight with me.
you know, we're better together.
That's the lesson.
So have an amazing rest of your day, and we will talk soon.
