All right, so we all know by now that Donald Trump gave his disastrous address to the nation last night,
and for 20 to 25 minutes, he just rambled incoherently about absolutely nothing.
But one of the main things I noticed and others noticed about that speech is that Donald Trump seemed panicked.
He was speaking incredibly quickly.
He was stumbling over his words.
He was sweating.
And it was so bad that a doctor who used to be a White House doctor is now sounding the alarm over the manic address.
which we're going to cover in just a moment,
but I do want to talk about this panic
that Donald Trump was clearly feeling during this speech.
Obviously, he felt that this speech
was the way to get him back on track
and have the American people love him again,
which is delusional, but he knows he failed.
And you can see it in the speech.
So I want to cover this story for you from the Atlantic.
This is what presidential panic looks like.
We'll talk about the doctor as well in just a moment.
But before I do any of that, make sure to subscribe down below.
Drop a like on the video, comment.
Let me know what you thought about the speech.
And before we get into the story, I do want to play a clip, just a short one from what Donald Trump had to say last night.
And this really hammers home the panic, the quick talking, the stumbling, the nonsense.
Just watch.
And I think you'll see what I mean if you didn't tune in.
And far greater national security.
Much of this success has been accomplished by tariffs, my favorite word tariffs, which for many decades have been used successfully by other countries against us.
But not anymore.
Companies know that if they build in America, there are no tariffs.
And that's why they're coming home to the USA in record numbers.
They're building factories and plants at levels.
We haven't seen AI automobiles.
We're doing what nobody thought was even possible, not even remotely possible.
There has never, frankly, been anything like it.
One year ago, our country was dead.
We were absolutely dead.
our country is ready to fail, totally failed.
Now, we're the hottest country anywhere in the world.
And that's said by every...
Wow.
And Republicans will look at us with a straight face and say, yeah, that guy's sane.
Yeah, he's doing well.
He's perfectly healthy.
Are you kidding me?
What the hell was that?
He was just screaming into the microphone saying absolutely nothing.
He said the country was dead a year ago.
And essentially, we were on the verge of apocalypse here.
And now he's the savior who's really come in.
But this face right here kind of tells you everything you need to know about the speech.
That right there is, you know, pretty emblematic of what we're about to talk about.
But look, let's get into this article.
This is what presidential panic looks like.
The president of the United States just barged into America's living rooms like an angry, confused grandfather to tell us all that we are ungrateful welps.
When a president asked for network time, it's usually to announce something important.
Think President Obama announcing that we got Osama bin Laden.
during his presidency. That's normally what presidential addresses are for. But tonight, Donald Trump
did not give anything like a normal speech or address. He was clearly working from a prepared text,
but it sounded like one he'd written or dictated angrily himself because it was full of bizarre
howlers that even Trump's second-rate speech writing shop would probably have avoided, such as
his assertion that inflation when he took office was the worst it's been in 48 years. Why did he
pick, 97 is a benchmark? Who knows? But he's wrong, of course. He read the speech quickly,
his voice rising in frustration as he hurled one lie after another into the camera. We could take
apart Trump's fake facts, as checkers and pundits will do in the next few days, but perhaps
more important than false statements, which for Trump, are par for the course, was his
demeanor. I think that's a good point. American saw a president drenched in panic as he tried
to bully an entire nation into admitting he's doing a great job for 20 minutes. He vented his
hurt feelings without a molecule of empathy or awareness. Economic concerns, shut up, you fools. The economy is
doing fine. And if it isn't, it's not his fault. It's Joe Biden's. Foreign policy jitters. Zip it,
you whims. America is strong and respected. And I think this article is just so well written.
That's why I chose it to talk about it because that's pretty much what we saw. Donald Trump
essentially trying to just bully Americans into thinking that he's great and that the economy's
fantastic. Oh, when you go to the grocery store and you can't afford Christmas dinner this year or
it's, you know, putting a dent in your savings.
No, no, you're just imagining that.
And if you're not imagining that, well, it's not my fault.
It's Joe Biden's fault.
It's never Donald Trump.
And that's, you know, the speech was a perfect representation of who he is.
In effect, Trump took to the airwaves, pointed his finger and said, quiet Peggy.
I consider myself the author, who is, by the way, fantastic.
Let me give him a shout out.
Tom Nichols.
Think he's awesome.
I consider myself a connoisseur of Trump's speeches.
I've watched them and live tweeted them for years because I think Americans need to see
what kind of a man sits in the Oval Office. But even by Trump's standards, this was an unnerving
display of fear. I can only imagine America's enemies in Moscow and Beijing and Tehran smiling with pleasure
as they watched a president lose his bearings, berating his own people, and demanding they absolve him
of any blame when things get worse. His rant contained no news other than an example of his
contempt for the U.S. military, who his loyalty, whose loyalty he thinks he can purchase with a one-time
$1,700 check. This is projection. Trump has shown.
shown his willingness to be bought off with gold bars and trinkets.
This is not a holiday address from the leader of a great democracy to its citizens.
This was a desperate tin pot leader yelling into a microphone while cornered in his palace redoubt.
The president has been unraveling for weeks, and his speech tonight, like Trump himself,
was unworthy of America and its people.
And that brings us to this, a doctor who's raising the alarm about Donald Trump's panic.
This is somebody who worked in the Oval Office, and they're deeply concerned, rightly so,
I believe that Donald Trump is manic.
He's crazy.
His decline, his mental decline is getting to him, and he really can't control himself
any longer.
At the beginning of the speech, Donald Trump was speaking in a normal cadence.
He, you know, was continuing to lie and spread all the normal crap.
But he started off how you normally hear Donald Trump speak.
Kind of slow, right?
And then it just got increasingly fast, increasingly more deranged.
He started going off script more.
And I think that's a bad sign.
A cardiac expert has warned he is seriously concerned about Donald Trump's health after watching his manic address to the nation.
Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a medical analyst for CNN who served as the late Vice President Dick Cheney's cardiologist for over 30 years post a series of alarm statements on Twitter or X as Trump delivered his accelerated address.
Trump sped through the 18-minute address, often taking an angry tone and occasionally shouting the words he was reading off a teleprompter.
saw it right there. He was screaming into the microphone as loud as he could. It's like,
you don't, you don't need to do that. The microphone is there to pick up sound. We don't need to
hear you more than we already do. Reiner said the pace of this address is manic, writing,
noting that the tone of the speech also did not match the Christmas decorations, of course.
The president squeezed in a brief festive greeting at the end without cracking a smile. He said,
I'm seriously concerned about the health of the president. Reiner said of the 79-year-old,
adding that no one should be happy to see the president like this. He looks unwell. And I think that's
the case for all of us watching and me as well. You know, when we talk about Donald Trump's decline,
it's not gleeful. I mean, we don't want a physically and mentally declining man in the
Oval Office. That's just the reality. We can't BS here. We have to call balls and strikes. I think
a lot of people are starting to do that. And this is the number of statements that Jonathan Reiner put
out saying no one should be happy to see the president like this. He looks unwell. I'm seriously
concerned about the health of the president. The pace of this address is manic. The tone of the
speech doesn't quite match the festive background. Again, coming from a doctor who knows far more
than any of the MAGA lunatics who will deny this reality and say, oh, he was great, you know,
he wasn't panicked, he did fantastic. You know, the whole thing we hear from Donald Trump,
the MAGA fans, the Trump supporters. But of course, Trump's health has been an ongoing concern.
From the bandages to the swollen ankles to the mental decline, the videos of him looking
loss, the MRIs, the multiple cognitive tests, all of these different things have obviously
caused a lot of concern. And I think that speech last night genuinely raises a lot of concern
even more so than I already had. For me, for you, I imagine, at home, it was not good. So look,
I will leave the video there. I just thought this article written by Tom Nichols was so good.
And of course, the doctor addressing these things. But I'll leave it there. Thank you so much
for watching. Make sure to subscribe down below. It goes an incredibly long way. Drop a like on the
video, comment, let me know what you thought about the speech, what you think about the story.
And as I always say, I greatly appreciate you. And I hope you have an amazing rest of your day.
