Harry Sisson breaks down Elon Musk's new involvement with Trump's plans.

Look, folks, I am disappointed to report that the Republican takeover of different news media outlets just got even worse. It was already bad with the Ellison family, big friends of Donald Trump who own Paramount, now controlling CBS and censoring important stories through 60 minutes. It was already bad with Paramount agreeing to buy Warner Brothers, which owns CNN and the Ellison family, promising Donald Trump in the Oval Office that when they take over Warner Brothers, there would be sweeping changes to CNN and their coverage. That was already bad enough. now learning that Paramount is weighing getting Elon Musk involved in the project, getting an

investment from him so that he would have a say in the takeover, in the purchasing of Warner Brothers, giving him even more control of the conversation in this country. Elon Musk has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to Republicans. He has censored people on Twitter or X, whatever we're calling it these days. This is bad news for our democracy. It's bad news for free speech, and I think you should know about it. So we're going to talk about this, talk about Elon Musk's potential involvement, which is just insane. So Paramount, looking to firm up its financial picture as it digests Warner Brothers Discovery is looking for fresh sources of cash. Executives at the company have discussed asking Elon Musk to become part of a syndicate of equity investors into Paramount, according to people familiar with the matter. Musk's name is one of a number of wealthy individuals that Paramount CEO, David Ellison has considered tapping for the syndicate. Musk and David Ellison's father, Oracle founder, Larry Ellison, have long been close, and it is in part the elder Ellison's money and connections that made Paramount's takeover

of Warner Brothers possible. Larry Ellison has personally guaranteed more than $40 billion of the equity financing for Paramount's acquisition of Warner Brothers. Larry Ellison invested also $1 billion into Musk's 2022 deal to take over X or Twitter. So these guys have been working together. to get control over more of the conversation in the United States, more of the news media, more of where people get their news. And now Larry Ellison seems to be returning the favor,

giving Elon Musk an opportunity to be involved in the Paramount deal, taking over CNN, controlling CBS. This is so damaging for the way that we get our news, for the conversation for our democracy in this country. The size of a potential Musk investment could not be determined, but an investment from him would be a significant vote of confidence in this merger, and also, in my personal opinion, a return of the favor to the Allison family.

But Musk in this deal would also be politically fraught because Musk's dollars and political influence were concerning to Democrats, rightly so, during the 2024 election given his control of Twitter. The possibility of him having even partial ownership in CNN and CBS would likely raise alarm bells in Washington, even though it is unlikely Musk would have formal input over the company's operations,

which I'm not convinced. I think Musk would find a way to have involvement and make programming decisions for CNN and CBS. And I think that would make this situation even worse. But transparently, we are dealing with a bunch of people who love censoring the truth. I mean, think about what happened with Scott Pelly, who had the nerve, the nerve to stand up to Barry Weiss and her censoring of stories, her playing defense for Donald Trump. He spoke about what happened to him. He got fired, and he spoke in a New York Times interview about how Donald Trump was essentially defending.

Two of the things in the email include, can we make the protesters look more violent? Now, I'm paraphrasing. I don't have the quote, but that's what was communicated to me. And the other thing was Renee Good's car. You need to describe her as driving toward the officer. This is not what you see on the video.

On the video, you see the officers standing slightly off the front of the car, and you clearly see Ms. Good's wheels turned completely. as far as they will go away from the officer. But he shoots. Sir, in the head, kills her, and says something about her in that moment that I can't repeat in polite company. So we have gone out of our way in our plan from the very beginning

to show the protesters for the responsibility that they have. We had already scrubbed the video archives looking for those scenes. But it somehow wasn't enough for Ms. Weiss. The video showed that the officer wasn't standing in front of the car and she wasn't driving toward him. But that's what the president said about that. And that's the way she wanted it described. The president said that. Elon Musk said that.

All of the different Republicans and media said that. And so that's what Barry Weiss wanted to air on 60 minutes. People like Scott Pelly, real journalists who care about the truth, said, no, this is stupid. This is ridiculous. What are you talking about? And he got fired from 60 minutes for that. And so we're seeing the Ellison effect, the paramount effect of CBS right in this moment. We are seeing it.

We are seeing the censorship, the distortion of the truth. And the idea from the Ellison family is, let's throw Elon Musk in there. That sounds smart. That sounds like a good idea. Remember CBS also censoring the 60 Minutes story on the El Salvadorian torture prison where there were a number of different human rights violations. There were people there who had never been convicted of a crime. People who described abuses such as being stripped and beaten in a dark room having to drink dirty water. Barry Weiss didn't want that story aired because it's something that Donald Trump did.

He was sending these people off to this prison. She didn't want the story aired. She said we needed to get a quote from Stephen Miller to make the story fair and balanced. even though the White House had already declined to comment. The censorship is the point. It's not like they're trying to hide it and say, you know, we're trying to be partial here. It's so obvious that a lot of these media figures, these right-wing media figures,

work at the behest of Donald Trump and the Republican Party, and throwing Elon Musk into the mix makes it even worse. Elon Musk, by the way, in his own capacity, has censored people. Back in 2022, he was banning several journalists from Twitter who were, you know, at least he interpreted them to be left-wing for the, they're reporting about Elon Musk, him, his companies, and whatnot, and he banned them. And this is the guy who said he's committed to free speech, and he banned them, which obviously not very pro-free speech from Mr. Musk.

And of course, they're also working with Donald Trump, who is one of the most anti-free speech presidents we've ever had. He recently, of course, kicks CNN Politico, MS now out of the White House, and is doubling down on that saying yesterday, or I should say two days ago, all of the sleazebags like third-rate reporter Caitlin Collins of fake news CNN, a truly unhappy person, said they weren't going to be covering me. Then why were they ranting and raving like lunatics in the press area at the UN? Why was she there? She's got a Trump addiction and so does CNN and MSDNC. They're all sick, treasonous and demented. The good news is they have a great for them and totally disloyal judge,

who by the way is going to rule against Donald Trump, but not to, you know, for lack of trying here. He has certainly attempted to censor the media and censor-free speech, and they're working with Donald Trump to make sure that this deal gets done. And the reality here that is kind of scary, but not something that can't be overcome, is that there's just this group of wealthy people who want to maintain their power, want to maintain their influence. That includes Musk, that includes the Ellison family, and it certainly includes Donald Trump, who is trading a bunch of stocks and making a bunch of money doing it. They want access to the power. They want access to the money while everybody else gets screwed over, and they want you to believe a distorted

truth that actually the ICE agents were justified that actually the El Salvador prison is right where those people deserve to be. They want a distorted truth. They want to maintain their influence, their power, their money while everybody else gets screwed over. Donald Trump is doing it with his stock trades. And check out some of this data here. Donald Trump has made 28,700 stock trades. Congress made 22,200 combined. That's about 80 trades every single market day since he took office. One sale of hyperscaler stocks came the day after a chip terror. if carve out leaked. The White House says computers run the portfolio. Not everyone is convinced. I'm certainly not, which also means that Donald Trump has made more stock trades than Congress.

And the only stock trading ban that Donald Trump is endorsing is one that only applies to members of Congress and does not apply to the president. There's a carve out for him. The corruption is the point. The censorship is the point. And they want to make sure that being Elon Musk, the Ellison family, the Trump family, all of these people want to make sure that stories like this, you don't see. Or stories like René Nicole Good get downplayed and buried. Or stories about the El Salvadorian prison get downplayed and buried. You name it, they don't want you to know about it. And that is really concerning. And so the Paramount takeover over Warner Brothers was already kind of a big loss for the United States, big loss for our democracy. Elon Musk being involved in that equation makes it even worse.
