All right, so Donald Trump was at the UN today, and of course his speech was terrible,
his performance as the United States president was embarrassing and awful,
but something that's not getting enough attention and not being talked about enough
is that throughout his speech, throughout his meetings with different foreign leaders,
he was really flexing his authoritarianism.
And what I mean by that is he was attacking the press.
He was sucking up to dictators.
He was attacking our allies and sucking up to their opponents.
It was really weird.
And it's one thing for Donald Trump to be doing that in front of the Maga,
base, that's like red meat for his fans.
It's another to be doing it in front of international leaders.
So I want to show you this.
I want to talk about this trend we saw today, and we'll discuss all of that and more.

you think about this story.
And of course, I think we have to start here with Donald Trump once again threatening
to genocide, essentially Iran, killing tens of millions of innocent people, people who
don't support the theocratic regime in Iran, but are innocent bystanders.
And this is what Donald Trump said, sitting next to Zelensky about this very topic.
Check it out here.
Has anyone from your team met with your on-hand delegation, anyone from?
Yes.
To be clear with police.
Yeah.
Today.
How is that conversation?
Okay.
How was that?
It ended an hour ago.
It was a meeting that lasted for three hours.
It ended an hour ago.
What was that?
It was a very good meeting.
I mean, I must say it was very good.
I can't imagine why they were.
wouldn't want to do. It's a greatness, potential greatness or obliteration.
What are you doing in force right now?
In one case, it's obliteration and the other alternative is potential greatness.
It could be a great country.
Are you planning to implement the-
Wow. So I guess Donald Trump's options for Iran as it stands are either you agree to the deal that we want you to agree to,
which by the way, we don't even know what that deal is.
There's no text or goal here, or they get completely obliterated.
And I will say, I will point out that Donald Trump makes a lot of empty threats with Iran.
He has said before that we're going to obliterate them, and then obviously he hasn't gone through with that.
He has said that there's a deal, and then there's no deal.
So he makes a lot of empty threats, a lot of empty promises, but still, for the president of the United States to be talking about completely obliterating a country, killing tens of millions of people, is horrific.
And beneath the office of the presidency, or at least you hope.
Here's another time where Donald Trump was once again the same day threatening to genocide Iran.
I'm not joking.
He's really flexing the authoritarian part of his beliefs.
We're just putting the pressure on because hopefully they'll do the right thing fast before
it's too late.
You know, it's going to be a time when it's too late and we won't have a chance of letting
them survive as a nation and would like to see that.
I can tell you that people around this table would like to see it.
Some people
Letting them survive as a nation,
how do you interpret that as anything else
than genuinely complete genocide
or dropping nukes on them?
And on that very topic,
on the topic of nuclear bombs,
Trump made this statement earlier today
sitting around with all these different Middle Eastern leaders.
And as Aaron Rupar points out,
it's hard to interpret what he says
as anything other than threatening
to drop a nuke on Iran.
This is what Trump said.
Look, it's going to go one way or the other.
It's either going to, we're going to make a deal
or it's going to end very, very quick.
it'll end so quickly your head will spin.
Yeah, and, you know, Trump has put out statements before on social media saying that we've
saved the biggest attack of all.
And he won't say what that attack is, but it's sitting in the wings ready to be deployed
at any moment, and we're saving it for the right time.
Once again, hard to interpret that as anything other than dropping nuclear bomb on a country.
And Donald Trump also saying here, you know, it'll end so quickly your head will spin.
sounds pretty clear to me what he's implying in that statement.
Donald Trump also was attacking the media today.
This is something that he's been doing over the past couple of days
by banning CNN, MS Now, Politico from the Oval Office.
And as soon as he arrived to the UN today,
he immediately launched into an attack toward Caitlin Collins and CNN,
an outlet that he has not only targeted recently,
but targeted in the past.
So this is what he said.
So it's an honor to be here.
I'm surprised that CNN is here covering me.
You shouldn't be here.
You should not be here covering me.
You said you weren't going to cover me.
You shouldn't be covering me.
But I will tell you, it is an honor.
Great news.

To be at the United Nations and we're making a lot of progress, our country is doing really, really well.
Thank you very much, everybody.
So CNN was allowed to be there.
The UN credentialed them.
Donald Trump doesn't have a say over who the UN does and does not credential.
But this is, of course, as I mentioned, comes just days after he censored CNN.
He kicked them out of the Oval Office, along with not only the Oval Office, the White House is an entirety.
He kicked them out, censoring them, has faced a lawsuit for doing so.
So he's attacking the media just days after kicking them out, which is just so on par for.
for Donald Trump, and he also attacked the media in front of dictator leaders around the world.
I mean, you know, Turkey is sitting right there with Erdogan.
You have Jordan, you have Qatar, all these different countries with very dictatorial leaders,
and Donald Trump is attacking the media in front of them saying that he likes them, but not the media.
I like these people.
Nothing I can do about it.
It must be important because look how much pressure you have.
So he's pointing to them saying, I like these people.
I like all of these people who are very authoritarian in their leadership, but the media, part of any functioning democracy around the world, those people I don't like, which I think Donald Trump is making his thoughts here abundantly clear.
And just compare in contrast how Trump talks about authoritarian leaders in the Middle East with how he talks about democratically elected ones in Europe and Canada.
And this really is just a stunning side by side for an American president.
High energy, maybe sometimes too high energy, right?
that we could use the brilliance and a little bit lower energy on occasion.
That would be pretty good.
But they're brilliant people and they're great people and they're my friends and they're
doing a fantastic job.
They're doing a fantastic job.
They're great people.
They're brilliant people.
They're my friends, Donald Trump says, with having, you know, these dictators around him,
these authoritarian sitting around him, they are his friends.
But with Mark Carney or leaders in Europe, they're all, you know, a trait.
toward the United States, they've been ripping off the United States for many, many years.
That's just insane. I mean, these European countries, Canada, are our friends. There are allies
who have been working with the United States toward a better world for many, many years,
decades now. And Donald Trump speaks so poorly of them, puts tariffs on them, tries to ruin
their economies, has ruined many of their economies with this Iran war. But all of these leaders
around him, he says, well, they're my friends. They're brilliant people. It's just so backwards.
I say that often on the show that everything with Donald Trump and his America is just backwards.
Like this, for example, while sitting next to President Zelensky today, he dismissed concerns about the conflict between or a possible conflict between the United Kingdom and Russia, telling a British reporter, I think you'll be okay, but I'll say the rhetoric from your last prime minister was too tough.
So he's willing to attack Kier Starrmer, the former prime minister of the United Kingdom.
But these authoritarian leaders, they're great, they're brilliant people.
it's so backwards.
It's just the only word I can think of to describe his philosophy with many of these things.
Of the European leaders about the inevitability of direct conflict between us and Russia.
Can you stop that happening?
Oh, you're talking about the UK and Russia?
Yes, and the UK.
I think you'll be okay.
But I will say the rhetoric from your last prime minister was too tough.
He has to be a little bit careful.
And this one?
Well, I haven't heard the rhetoric too much, but I think he's,
It's going to be good. I will say he's on your side very much. And it's a very interesting thing
that you say, I've seen that dialogue and that dialogue is too nasty.
Okay, just to be, the dialogue is too nasty because Kirstarmer stood up for Ukraine and their
sovereignty and their fight against Russia. But when these authoritarian leaders that he was sitting
around, when they have said awful things about people in their country or done awful things to
people in their country. Trump, interestingly, has nothing to say about it. I mean, he was just
really full-blown authoritarian today in his behavior, and it is especially embarrassing when that
takes place on the world stage. You know, he does this. We're used to it, and it's kind of numbing
after all of these years that Trump does this stuff in front of his fans, and it doesn't make it
okay that it's been taking place for a long time. But it's one thing for him to like do it in front
of his fans and them to just eat it up. It's another to happen in front of world leaders. We're
meant to be represented on the world stage, the shining beacon of democracy. People are meant to be
looking to the United States for guidance, for leadership, for competency. And Donald Trump is anything
but that. Shows anything but that. So look, I will leave the video there. I just wanted to highlight
this trend I saw today that is just gross, you know. But thank you so much for watching. Please

everything we talked about today. Have an amazing rest of your day, and we will talk soon.
