Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, folks, well, Jimmy Kimmel, one of Donald Trump's biggest enemies, somebody that he frequently targets online, demands that he be fired every other day of the week. It feels like at this point, he just put Donald Trump in his place for his disgusting Rob Reiner post. We got a lot of different responses from the late night shows last night to the death of Rob Reiner and to Donald Trump's post. And I really want to highlight Jimmy Kimmel's because he has, of course, been targeted by the Trump regime, but also his response, was just so well said. So I'm going to cover this story and more in just a moment. Before I do any of that, make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment.
Starting point is 00:00:39 Let me know what you think about this story. And without further ado, I want to start with a brief clip from Jimmy Kimmel's monologue last night where he first talked about this story, specifically focusing on Donald Trump's response. Just watch this. So hateful and vile. When I first saw it, I thought it was fake. My wife showed it to me this morning.
Starting point is 00:00:57 I was like, well, even for him, that seemed like, too. much, but nothing is ever too much for him. Of course, you won't see the Fox News gang screaming about this one, but a couple of Republicans did, to their credit, two of them, I think. And so a few hours later, a White House reporter gave Trump the chance to take another shot to act like a human being. A number of Republicans have announced your statement on true social after the murder of Rob Reiner. Can you stand by that post?
Starting point is 00:01:24 Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned. He said, he knew it was false. In fact, it's the exact opposite. I was a friend of Russia controlled by Russia. You know, the Russia hoax. He was one of the people behind it. I think he heard himself in career-wise.
Starting point is 00:01:44 He became like a deranged person, Trump derangement syndrome. So I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape, or form. I thought it was very bad for our country. Oh. That corroded brain is. in charge of our life. If you voted for that, it's okay to reconsider. It's perfectly fine. That's right. It is okay to reconsider. And that's just a short clip of what Kimmel said. We're going to go into his full monologue right now. But if you haven't seen it and you want to watch the entire thing,
Starting point is 00:02:17 I would highly recommend. I thought it was fantastic, as always coming from Jimmy Kimmel. But let's just go over this briefly. Jimmy Kimmel was in disbelief when he saw Donald Trump's reaction to the murderer of director, comedian, and actor Rob Reiner. Reiner was murdered on Sunday alongside his wife, Michelle, who is also 68. Authorities believe Reiner's son was responsible. Donald Trump responded to the tragedy in a very disgusting and gross truth social post, writing that Reiner's death was reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive unyielding and incurable affliction with a mind-cripling disease known as
Starting point is 00:02:53 Trump derangement syndrome. So he's trying to blame. Rob Reiner's death, his murder on his political views, his dislike of Donald Trump, which obviously on a factual level is insane. I feel like I don't need to say that, but for the MAGA people, insane. And on a moral level, absolutely reprehensible, abhorrent and disgusting. Beneath the office of the presidency, beneath being a human being, really. I mean, nobody should be saying something like that. Kimmel said, when I first saw it, I thought it was fake. My wife showed it to me this morning. I was like, well, even for him that seemed like too much, but nothing is ever too much. He read the post out loud and his audience booed vehemently just when you think he can't go any lower. He somehow finds a way to do that.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Trump's description of what happened, of course, is not at all what happened. And this is exactly what I've spoken about before, this rush to pin the tail on the donkey in pursuit of the Trump-friendly narrative, which is always the case with MAGA. You know, I'm on social media every day. day. I'm here talking to you on the show, but I frequently pay attention to what the MAGA Republicans are saying on social media just to get an understanding of what their side is. And I, whenever there's a tragedy, anytime there's a natural disaster, there's a war somewhere in the world, there's a mass shooting here in the United States, Republicans will find a way to wiggle in politics and blame it on Democrats. You had the shooting of the National Guard in D.C. recently. Somehow Republicans blamed Democrats for that. I still don't know how they got there. They blame Democrats for that. They're now trying to blame Democrats for the Brown University shooting. And now Donald Trump, along with many
Starting point is 00:04:31 MAGA fans, are trying to blame Rob Reiner's political views for his deranged son allegedly taking his life. It makes no sense. But it's, as Kimmel said, this rush to pin the tail on the donkey in pursuit of the Trump-friendly narrative. Republicans don't care about these tragedies. They just, or I shouldn't say Republicans, the MAGA fans, the diet. The die-hard MAGA fans don't care about these tragedies. They're just trying to think about, how can I spin this in a way that benefits Donald Trump? Kimmel was referring to his comments about the MAGA reaction to Charlie Kirk's death in September. And if there's anybody that can make this point, it is him because his show almost got canceled for what he said.
Starting point is 00:05:09 Kimmel had criticized MAGA punants for desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points. And Maga, they were claiming that what Kimmel was doing was lying about the Charlie Kirk shooting was blaming him or just being distasteful. But isn't that exactly what Donald Trump is doing right now? I mean, he's lying about the murder of Rob Reiner. He's saying it was for a different reason than the actual reason. He's saying that the perpetrator did it for a different reason than the actual reason. That's what Kimmel was joking about and not even fully. saying during his monologue about Charlie Kirk, he was just saying Republicans are trying to
Starting point is 00:05:52 score political points, but Donald Trump is doing the exact same thing that he accused Kimmel of and almost had his show canceled for. Just look at the hypocrisy here. The hosts argue that Trump was doing something similar to what Trump supporters accused him of doing four months earlier, blaming Reiner's death on the fact that he is an outspoken liberal insulting someone who's just been murdered, who leaves children behind without having any idea of what actually happened. It's so hateful and vile. Of course, you won't see the Fox News gang screaming about this one, but a couple of Republicans did. Kimmel also showed a press conference as we saw where Trump doubled down on his disgusting comment that corroded brain is in charge of our lives. And I do like how he said
Starting point is 00:06:28 if you voted for that, it's okay to reconsider. Kimmel ended this segment by saying about Reiner, I know that he would want us to keep pointing out the loathsome atrocities that continue to continue to ooze out of this sick and irresponsible man's mouth. That's a good way to put it. So we're going to continue to do that over and over again until the rest of us wake up. And I'm right there with you, Jimmy, and Rob, we will continue to call out Donald Trump because this is who this man is. And, you know, this story should not go away. People should not forget about this story. This is how Donald Trump thinks about people.
Starting point is 00:06:59 This is how he feels about people. This is who Donald Trump is. And it's important to understand who the president of the United States is. And just on Jimmy Kimmel's point about the Fox News host, that they're not going to be crying about this one. They did the exact opposite. Greg Gutfeld desperately tried to ratchew. rationalize Trump's attack on Rob Reiner. He came out on live TV on Fox News with this insane quote saying, quote, to defend Donald Trump about his post. I think the thing is you don't have to like the things that he says all the time. It is why in my filter Trump is always words versus deeds. I don't have to like what he says. In fact, I can hate what he says, but I can also think in his brain he is going, this guy compared me to Hitler. He put a target on my back. I don't like him. That's Gutfeld's. weird justification. And I'm trying to wrap my head around his reasoning. I don't think I can. I don't
Starting point is 00:07:52 think many people can because it just doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make any sense. And Greg Gutfeld, if he was honest, would admit that it doesn't make any sense because of a Democrat said something like this about Charlie Kirk, he would have lost it. He did lose it on Fox News when people he disagreed with did. And now he's saying, well, you know, I don't have to like what he says. I can like what he does. What? The double standard here is remarkable. And the fact that, you know, Charlie Kirk was killed and they went on this campaign to get people fired or whatever it might be, canceled in public for their comments. And now, you know, however many months later, four or three months later, they've completely flipped. And now they're like, well, you know, it's free speech. They can,
Starting point is 00:08:33 he's not, he's just speak in his mind. It's bullshit. That's what it is. So anyway, sorry for that rant. Despite that, I thought Jimmy Kimmel's response was great. And I just want to wanted to show you. Anyway, I'll leave the video there. Thank you so much for watching. Make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment. Let me know what you think about this story. And as I always say, I greatly appreciate you. And I hope you have an amazing rest of your day.
