Harry Sisson breaks down Speaker Mike Johnson's disastrous morning on C-Span as callers slammed him to his face.

All right, folks, check this out. We are now on day eight of the government being shut down by Donald Trump and the Republicans. And it's already gone pretty badly for MAGA and the Republican side. But it just got even worse for them because for some reason, Mike Johnson thought that it was a good idea to go on C-SPAN this morning and take calls from voters all across the country, Democrat, Republicans, independence, whatever. And basically every single person that called in had something negative to say to him, or the Republican Party as a whole.

Like, for example, on your screen right now, there was a Republican C-SPAN caller who said, quote, as a Republican, I'm very disappointed in my party and I'm very disappointed in you. That's exactly how many of these calls went. So I want to show you these clips from Mike Johnson's appearance on C-SPAN this morning before I do so. Make sure to subscribe to the channel.

Before we get to this clip of the Republican voter calling him on Mike Johnson, I want to start here because there's a funny backstory on this clip in particular. So just take a look. Hi. I just want to start by saying hearing you say that everyone is smiling in the cities where troops, our National Guard has been rolled into, feels dystopian and insane to hear you say that,

watching the response to this. But that's not actually my question. My question, I just needed to say that while hearing you talk about this. My question is, if Republicans and Democrats can agree to a one-year extension to the ACA subsidies, removing this sort of talking point of illegal immigrants draining our resources as you sit here and lie about this, would you support that bill and bring it to a vote on the House floor? This is a big question that I have for you. Thank you. Yeah, well, not lying, I'm telling you the truth, and you can go look at all the documents yourself. Don't look at the Republican paperwork. Look at the Congressional Budget Office who said that we had at least 1.4 million illegal aliens

draining the resources from Medicaid, which is why you put their forms in the law and got it signed July 4th. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffrey's counterproposal for the CR would reverse all that. Look at page 57, section 2141 of the bill that they filed. I made it easy for you. Go to Speaker.gov. My website. It's right there on the homepage. See for yourself. Don't take my word for it.

I encourage everybody to go do that because what Mike Johnson is saying is total crap. It's total lies. All of these different provisions they attempt to cite in different bills are completely misleading. They post these selective screenshots online on their websites and they say, oh, it's the Democrats who are trying to do X, Y, and Z in reality, if you read the whole bill, which I'm not expecting the Republican voters to do, it'll tell you a different story. Like, for example, they're upset recently and this is the big point that they're harping on. They know that there's no provision of any bill that Democrats are putting forward to fund undocumented migrant health care, but they're taking issue with undocumented migrants if they're hit by a car and they're dying on the sidewalk.

A hospital, an ambulance will bring them to the hospital and give them the care they need, even if they're not an American citizen, even if they don't have health insurance. That's basic human rights. Basic human rights we're talking about here, life or death. And Republicans are saying, well, you know, they're not American. They don't have paperwork, so they should die. And the Democrats are saying, well, no, you know, if somebody's injured and it's life-threatening, they should just get the care they need. And that is what Republicans are saying is undocumented health care.

But regardless, what Mike Johnson here is saying here is obviously total BS. But the funny story here that I wanted to bring to your attention regarding this C-SPAN caller is it's actually somebody I know. My friend Good Trouble on TikTok woke up at 6 a.m. this morning to talk to Mike Johnson on C-SPAN. And you can see it in this TikTok he made where he included a clip where he was, live streaming the phone call. So take a look. And hearing you say that everyone is smiling in the cities where troops, our National Guard has been rolled into, feels dystopian and insane to hear you say that. President Trump's been accused of saying he wants to have a war on American citizens.

I have no idea where that comes from. It's obviously a misleading talking point. No idea? Not even a hint? Not even a, okay. The president did say in that speech to military leaders that he wanted to use cities as training grounds for the U.S. military. Of course, National Guard troops, they drill once a month so they can be trained.

Put them in the cities where it's a win, win, win. I've talked to the National Guard troops in D.C. They're enjoying what they're doing. They're walking around smiling. Everybody's smiling here. The sun is shining again. Who's smiling? The most beautiful capital city.

I just want to start by saying, hearing you say that everyone is smiling in the cities where troops, our National Guard has been rolled into, feels dystopian and insane to hear you say that watching the response to this. But that's not actually my question. My question. Isn't this so amazing? I just love that he did this, waking up at six in the morning to humiliate Mike Johnson live on air. That's the kind of dedication I like to see for my friends or just people in the field generally, Democrats who are making content or Democrats who are just pissed off. I just love it that folks like himself and others are obviously so dedicated to the cause to embarrass Mike Johnson. So I just wanted to give you that fun little story. When I listened to the

clip, I was like, I'm pretty sure I know this guy. It turns out I do. And that's pretty fantastic. If you don't follow him on TikTok, if you're on TikTok, I would highly recommend it. But now I want to get into this clip of a Republican. Sam, good troubles, obviously a Democrat. A Republican from Virginia called in to speak to Mike Johnson on C-SPAN, and they didn't hold back saying that they are disappointed in their party. They're disappointed in Mike Johnson. And I want you to hear the clip. So let's start it. Hi, Mr. Johnson. So my question or comments are related to what you said yesterday about not being open to pass any legislation to ensure that military gets paid. I'm sure you can tell by my voice. I'm very shaky. Just want you to hear a little bit about my family.

I have two medically fragile children. I have a husband who actively serves this country. He suffers from PTSD from his two tours in Afghanistan. If we see a lapse in pay come the 15th, my children do not get to get the medication that's needed for them to live their life because we live paycheck to paycheck. I heard you earlier say that you side with President Trump on anything that he says, well, I just read an article this morning that said he absolutely wholeheartedly believes that there needs to be legislation put in so that we do not miss a paycheck. You have the power to do that. And as a Republican, I'm very disappointed in my party, and I'm very disappointed in you because you do have the power to call the House back. You did that, or you refused to do that just for a show. I'm begging you to pass this legislation.

My kids could die. We don't have the credit because of the medical bills that I have to pay regularly. You could stop this, and you could be the one that could say military is getting paid. And I think that it is awful and the audacity of someone who makes six figures a year to do this to military families is insane. All right, Samantha. Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. I agree with every word she just said. And, you know, I think the broader point here is it's not just affecting military families.

It's affecting federal workers across the board who won't be given a paycheck if this government shutdown continues. And, you know, it pisses me off about these Republicans. and people like Mike Johnson and the people around him who are keeping the government shut down is that they've never had to worry about their health care costs. They've never had to worry about them or a loved one or a friend not being able to afford care at a hospital, not being able to afford their medication. They have all these big donors giving them so much money and they've made so much money perhaps by stock trading.

And they have never, they never have to worry about this. They've never had to sit at the bedside of a sick, a sick loved one and wonder, can they afford this care? Can we make sure that they get better? And so they have no understanding of what this woman is going through. They have no concept of the average American who's suffering right now because of their actions. So they go to government. Mike Johnson goes on C-SPAN. They pretend to care, and then they call it for a day at 1 p.m. They go home. And then they all go out later that night with their buddies to a nice DC bar. They sip some top shelf whiskey and they laugh amongst themselves while Americans out there, average everyday hardworking Americans, even their own

voters are suffering. Kids of military families not being able to afford medication. That's the America we live in. And that's what the Republicans are doing. That's who they are. That's who they are. They do not care. They do not care. Man, annoys me so much. But look, I will leave the video there.
