Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, folks, I am noticing a pattern in the Republican Party, specifically among young male Gen Z Republicans. And I've had the unfortunate experience of dealing with many of these people in debates or politics, just generally. I am Gen Z myself. And let me just put it plainly. The Republicans have a Nazi problem, a radicalization problem among these young men. This is not exactly breaking news. We've kind of known about this for quite some time. But it's getting worse.
Starting point is 00:00:27 And the story we're about to talk about is not only disgusting. but it's happened before. This is not the first time we are talking about a story similar to this one on the show. We've covered this multiple times and it keeps happening. So there's no time to waste. Let's get into it. Nazi Heaven is the title of the article to give you some idea of where we're going with this. Inside Miami Campus Republicans racist group chat.
Starting point is 00:00:51 This was a group chat that was started by the secretary of Miami-Dade County's Republican Party and it was primarily for conservative students. It was started last fall. Within three weeks, it was filled with racist slurs. Someone wrote dozens of ways of taking the lives of black people. And the chat was even renamed after what one member described as Nazi heaven. Now, this story, as I mentioned, may sound familiar because we've covered one similar on the show before.
Starting point is 00:01:18 This was in the Young Republican Party's group chat of New York, where people were saying that they love Hitler. And we have, you know, these are the different screenshots. and the people behind them from this young Republican group chat in New York. And you can see just some of the things that they were saying. Some of the awful things these people were saying. And they were embedded in the Republican Party. People endorsed by the Republican Party for their respective positions.
Starting point is 00:01:44 And they were saying things like this in their group chat. Just take a look at some of these. I mean, just take a look. Just disgusting. And it's happening all over the country. Group chats like this are being leaked all the time. and J.D. Vance defended it. J.D. Vance defended them in what they said. Watch.
Starting point is 00:02:03 By focusing on what kids are saying in group chat, grow up. I'm sorry, focus on the real issues. Don't focus on what kids say in group chats. But there's another angle to this that I just have to be honest about. I'm like an old guy at this one. I'm 41 years old. I have three kids. You know, I grew up in a different world, right? We're not most of what I, the stupid things that I did when I was a teenager and a young adult.
Starting point is 00:02:26 they're not on the internet. Like, I'm going to tell my kids, especially my boys, don't put things on the internet. Like, be careful with what you post. If you put something in a group chat, assume that some scumbag is going to leak it in an effort to try to cause you harm or cause your family harm. But the reality is that kids do stupid things, especially young boys. They tell edgy, offensive jokes. Like, that's what kids do. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:02:51 I'm glad we have the potential 2028 nominee for the Republicans on the record. saying that people saying things like this is just, you know, boys being boys. It's just young men saying stupid jokes and making edgy jokes. Okay, great. Glad we got them on the record defending this as such. But let's get into the Miami version of this story because apparently it's just happening all over the country in these young male Republican group chats and nobody's really talking about it.
Starting point is 00:03:18 In WhatsApp conversations leaked to the Miami Herald participants used variations of the N-word more than 400 times. Regularly described women as this used slurs to talk about Jewish and gay people and mused about Hitler's politics. Interspersed throughout were discussions about events promoting the Republican Party at Florida International University.
Starting point is 00:03:37 The school told the Herald that the chat logs are part of an ongoing criminal investigation. So maybe there will be some accountability, although we're not sure what the criminal investigation is because saying something in group chat is not illegal, so hopefully we would find out more about that and what the investigation is connected to. regardless, the conversations included some of the campus's top conservative leaders,
Starting point is 00:03:57 the county GOP secretary, FIU's Turning Point USA Chapter President, and the former college Republicans recruitment chair. The group chat, which was verified by two people in the group, reveals the extent of racism and extremism within the highest ranks of campus Republican Party leadership in Miami. Another member of the chat, William Bergerano, I butcher that, not 100% sure, who tried to start a pro-life group at Miami-Dade College was the primary user of the N-word in the group chat. And, you know, when videos like this or the stories like this happen and I make videos like
Starting point is 00:04:30 this, I do my research. I find out who exactly these people are. And there he is. There's William. Oh, I got a photo of him. Of course I have a photo of him. This is William right here. This is the primary user of the N-word in the group chat.
Starting point is 00:04:44 And don't you worry, I have photos of the other people that I'll show you in just a moment. But there he is. William. He's the primary user. At one point, he posted a block of text calling for dozens of act of extremism against people of color, specifically black Americans who he referred to using the N-word. He hung up when he was reached by the Herald. This is, oh, man, it's hard to read. It really is hard to read.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Daryl Gonzalez, the Republican's recruitment chair at the time, responded in the chat saying, how edgy. And I believe I have a photo of him. Yeah, there we go. That's Daryl Gonzalez. He said, how edgy? his involvement didn't stop there. He also wrote this about professors that are people of color. He said, I refuse to be indoctrinated by them. I mean, oh my God. This is, this is really gross. But that's Daryl. That's Daryl. He should never be considered for a position in politics or the
Starting point is 00:05:42 workforce, I don't think. I mean, this is, you know, we're, I can't even. The group chat members, which included some women, also frequently discussed intercourse, some describing women as this, and at one point using the K word for Jewish people. Gonzalez said, you can F all the blank you want, just don't marry them and procreate. Ian Valdez, the Turning Point USA chapter president, responded that he wouldn't marry somebody that is Jewish. And I believe I have areas. There's Ian Valdez.
Starting point is 00:06:08 I'm a hater. You know what I mean? I will pull up the photos of your face and blast it for everybody to see. There's Ian Valdez. That's what he said. A few minutes later, Valdez changed the group chat's name from one that included a slur for people with disabilities to Uber, to Gooning in Argartha. That's the new name of the group chat.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Gooning is a slang for male. Oh my God. This is really, it's tough. Agartha, mythical white civilization promoted by the Nazi politician Himmler, has been repopularized by the young online right. That's what he was referencing. And this is part of the Republican Party divisions in Florida. The text messages among the party's top campus leadership last fall
Starting point is 00:06:46 reveal the extent to which the party is splintered by its extremist online right and concerned about their growing political power in Florida, leading Republican candidate for Florida Byron Donald, who is black, to announce what he called the woke right in a speech in Miami last fall, which people, I think, are correctly saying that he's using woke right instead of alt-right, because he just doesn't want to use that word and go after people in his party. His opponent, James Fishback, a relative political unknown who has used racist and white nationalist rhetoric throughout his campaign is highlighting the generational divide around extremism on the right. He is very well liked among 18 to 34 year olds getting 32% of the vote
Starting point is 00:07:25 while only having 6% of likely GOP primary voters generally. One thing I know is the conservative movement has always been steeped in respect for other people, respect for religious liberty, respect for economic liberty, Donald said recently. But the Turning Point USA chapter president, however, described his conservative politics differently in the group chat, saying, I'm more authoritarian than you buddy. I think the church should run the government. Valdez, wrote at one point during another conversation, Valdez said, fiscally conservative all the way is so this. Hitler himself wasn't a fiscal conservative. Valdez previously described himself as a campaign employee on Fishback's Miami team on Instagram. He has since removed that title
Starting point is 00:08:05 and did not respond to texts or phone calls from the Herald. They are all cowards. They do not want to talk to journalists who are inquiring about this. And this is what I mean. I mean, look, as I said, I've dealt with people like this, unfortunately, I've dealt with the extreme right that are the Gen Ziers out there. And it is terrifying how many there are. It's not everybody. You know, you talk to your average young person who maybe leans a little bit more right. They're not this. But unfortunately, in party leadership positions and positions of power within their respective parties and their respective states, especially states like Florida, which are very red, this is a real problem. And it's happening more.
Starting point is 00:08:45 and more and more. Now, Carvahal, the county party secretary who started the chat and is a third-year law student at FIU said that he had not seen much of the content in the chat. When he opened WhatsApp on his phone and scrolled up to the conversations last fall, while on a call with a herald reporter, Carvahal said he was shocked by the gruesome calls for violence. He said it's been five months since this was sent, and this is the first time I've seen this message. He said he generally ignored the thousands of messages in the group chat and log show he did not participate as much as others. However, the WhatsApp logs show that Carverhalla deleted a total 14 messages sent by other participants in the chat and 42 of his own messages before the
Starting point is 00:09:26 Herald obtained the logs. So to me, it seems like he's covering up his involvement. Wow. Yeah. Uh-huh. Let me see. I believe I have a photo of him too. There he is. Abel Alexander Carval Howell. This is the man that started the group chat. This is the man that deleted his own involvement. and deleted the text of other people involved. So maybe he's covering up even worse text messages. That's that guy right there. Abel Carvahal, right there.
Starting point is 00:09:53 God, you know, I'm such a hater, man. I really, really despise these people. I really despise these young Republicans. And here's a thing, it's not the first time. When the Herald asked the school's police department for any records related to the new group chats, a private law firm contracted by the school, said they are unavailable because they constitute
Starting point is 00:10:09 criminal investigative information. And a statement about the chat logs, Media Relations Director Madeline Barrow said the university takes very seriously any allegation of discriminatory conduct. The alleged conduct is under review and will be addressed in accordance with the university's policies and applicable law. Interesting. FIU and its Turning Point chapter have had a group chat problem before. In 2018, chat logs obtained by the Miami New Times in a group chat called Turning Point USAF IU Fun, included messages joking about assault, liking cartoon this, and drawings of unethicalings of
Starting point is 00:10:42 underage women, girls, I should say. Oh my God. I, you know, and let me, let me see. I think I have, I just, I can't believe this is where the Republican Party on the other side of the aisle is. And it's a real problem. It's a real, real problem. It keeps happening.
Starting point is 00:10:59 And as I said, I've dealt with these people. It is far more common than you'd like, far more common than you'd think. And it's a real, real issue. Oh, man. This is why, you know, how anybody votes for the Republican Party with Donald Trump, with this, with everything, is beyond me. I will never understand. So anyway, I will leave the video there. Thank you so much for watching.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Make sure to subscribe down below. Let me know what you think about this. I just, you know, I'm a little deflated at the end of this video. If it looks like, you know, I'm just a little out of it. I feel deflated reading this. I really do. Let me know what you think. Starting point is 00:11:37 It goes an incredibly long way. have an amazing rest of your day, and we will talk soon.
