One of the things that Donald Trump hates most is being publicly embarrassed and called out to his face.
We've seen a number of different times where somebody does it, a world leader, a politician, whoever it might be, and he just loses it on them.
Think about the presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Think about Zelensky in the Oval Office.
When he corrected Donald Trump, him and J.D. Vance attacked him relentlessly for it.
But unfortunately for Donald Trump, fortunately for us, that's exactly what happened at the World Economic Forum in Davao.
Switzerland yesterday, where Trump was spreading his usual lies about NATO and how he thinks
they're not going to come to America's aid in our time of need.
And the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rout, was sitting right next to him and called him
out for this lie.
It is a beautiful clip.
It did not get the attention it deserves.
So we're going to talk about it here.
And I'm going to give you some updates on Donald Trump's alleged Greenland plan, where
apparently he has struck it with NATO and neighboring parties and whatnot.

Let me know what you think about the story.
And let's start with this clip of Donald Trump getting called out to his face.
A great way to start your day, I think.
There's one thing I heard you say yesterday and today.
You were not absolutely sure that the Europeans would come to the rescue of the US if you will be attacked.
Let me tell you.
They will.
And they did in Afghanistan, as you know, for every American who paid the ultimate,
for every two Americans who paid the ultimate price,
there was one soldier from another NATO country
that does come back to his family,
from the Netherlands, from Denmark, particularly for other countries.
So you can be assured, absolutely.
If ever the US will be under attack,
your allies will be with you.
Absolutely, there's an absolute guarantee.
I really want to tell you this,
because it is important.
It pains me if you think it is not.
And under your leadership, this alliance is stronger than ever.
Damn, damn.
First and foremost, that,
fact about, you know, for every two Americans that paid the ultimate price that died in the
Middle East after 9-11, one NATO soldier from a different country paid that exact same price is
stunning. And it goes to show you that actually NATO has come to America's aid before.
Fun fact, and I learned this from Secretary Anthony Blinken, who was Secretary of State
under Biden when I interviewed him the first time. He said the first, the only time that
Article 5 of NATO has ever been invoked, which is an attack on one, is an attack on all.
is the United States after 9-11. The only time, the first time in history that was invoked,
and neighboring NATO countries, allies of ours, came to our aid. They went to the Middle East with us.
They paid the ultimate price as well. They came to the support of the United States of America,
and Donald Trump has the nerve to get up there and say, I don't think they would. It's disgraceful.
It's a slap in the face of the NATO soldiers who have supported America and paid that ultimate price.
And I love that Mark Rup brought that up right there and kind of put it.
Donald Trump in his place. And you'll notice he especially made sure to mention Denmark,
how Denmark soldiers had also aided the United States in the Middle East post 9-11,
because of course he's going after Denmark. He's attacking Denmark and by way of Greenland
and whatnot. So a really great clip. But as I mentioned, I also want to talk about this
alleged deal that Donald Trump has regarding Greenland, since we're talking about NATO,
foreign policy, Davos, and things like that. We talked about this on the show yesterday that
Donald Trump says that a framework of a deal has been agreed to regarding Greenland, which means
absolutely nothing. A framework of a deal means nothing. It means that there's not actually a deal.
He said, quote, based upon a very productive meeting that I had with the Secretary General of NATO,
Mark Root, we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact,
the entire Arctic region. This solution, if consummated, will be a great one for the United States
of America and all NATO nations. All these nations he was just previously attesteading.
attacking publicly. Based upon this understanding, I will not be imposing the tariffs that were
scheduled to go into effect on February 1st. Additional discussions are being held concerning the Golden
Dome as it pertains to Greenland. That is the missile defense system that Donald Trump wants
to build in the United States, even though we already have a missile defense system.
Further information will be made available as discussions progress. Vice President J.D. Vance,
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Whitkoff, and various others,
as needed, will be responsible for the negotiations.
they will report directly to me.
Thanks for your attention to this matter.
So the key words here are the framework of a future deal,
which again, a framework of a future deal is a lot of words to say there's not actually a deal.
And Donald Trump is surrendering to Europe.
He's backing down off of his Greenland threat because he was never going to be able to take
over Greenland, invade Greenland.
What's actually going to happen is that Donald Trump, this deal,
is going to be the exact same deal we already have with Greenland and Denmark,
which is we can access the region, we can have troops there, we can build military bases there,
and whatnot. And we actually did get some more reporting from the New York Times on what Donald Trump's
exactly talking about. And they write, what we know about a potential deal is limited officials
speaking to my colleagues on the condition of anonymity compared the idea of giving the U.S.
sovereignty over small parts of Greenland to Britain's military bases in Cyprus, which are regarded
as British territory. The officials said they did not know if that idea had a
inspired the framework announced by Trump. It was a day of whiplash and the status of negotiations
is still uncertain. But of course, there was a degree of relief among some European leaders. Yeah,
I mean, obviously, because Donald Trump decided to finally give in and back off, as he always does.
He's taco Trump. He always folds. He always surrenders. It's just a matter of time. He'll reverse
course eventually, as he did here. But I guess the deal that Donald Trump is trying to strike is
just quite literally having American bases in Greenland and that is considered American land.
So again, this is almost identical to what we have right now already with Greenland.
We can have troops there if we want.
Matter of fact, we've actually reduced our troops there, which kind of contradicts
Donald Trump's argument that it's Greenland's being immediately threatened by Russia and China.
And he also spoke to a reporter yesterday at Davos saying, can you go into what you just talked about
with the NATO meeting regarding his deal with Greenland?
and this is what he said.
I was going to ask you, did you see any of your European cohorts nodding, but I guess
I don't have to ask that now because of the news that breaks very quickly.
Can you go into what you just talked about with the NATO meeting?
Well, we have a concept of a deal.
I think it's going to be a very good deal for the United States, also for them.
And we're going to work together on something having to do with the Arctic as a whole, but also
Greenland, and it has to do with the security, great security, strong security, and strong security,
and other things.
The market 600 points, getting back a lot of some of the nervousness we had in the last couple of days.
The tariffs are off. Nothing happens on February 1st?
No, we took that off because it looks like we have pretty much a concept of a deal.
A deal of ownership, a deal...
Well, it's a little bit complex, but we'll explain it down the line.
But the Secretary General of NATO and I and some other people were talking,
and it's the kind of a deal that I wanted to be able to...
Where does it then...
His unwillingness to go into the specifics of the deal, again, proves that there's no deal.
And I can't help but laugh when he says we have a concept of a deal.
Where have we heard that before?
Oh, that's right.
When Kamala Harris was debating Donald Trump and Donald Trump said, oh, we have a concept of a health care plan.
A concept.
A concept.
What does that mean?
And then, you know, no health care plan ever came from that.
Donald Trump never had a health care plan.
But that's exactly the same quote he used in the debate when he didn't have a plan.
plan, there was no new deal, there was no nothing, and he's using that exact same phrasing right now.
Also, I want to point out, look how awful he looks. I mean, he really just looks off, you know what I'm
saying? And I'm not trying to say that as a political statement. I'm saying that as an objective
American statement, which is the president is clearly unwell. We've seen that in the past couple
days, especially with his speech yesterday and everything that's happening with him there today as
well, but just utter insanity. Utter insanity. So this Greenland plan doesn't actually exist. There is no
Greenland deal, no nothing. And I'm thankful for Mark Rood calling out Donald Trump to his face. There's
not a lot of people who do that anymore. A lot of people bend the knee. They don't want to fact-check Donald
Trump at a fear of retaliation. Mark Rood did it. So good for him. Thank you so much for watching.
