Starting point is 00:00:00 Last night, S&L absolutely humiliated Donald Trump for his war in Iran and everything that has come from it. Every once in a while on a Sunday on the show, I like to talk about what S&L did the night before to make fun of Donald Trump because they always do such a good job. You know, everything sucks all the time. In Donald Trump's America, it feels like the country is collapsing 24-7. So we have to laugh a little bit. We can laugh at the insanity to get through all of the madness that is Donald Trump's administration. and I think SNL does a pretty good job of providing that humor. So I have some clips to show you from the segment.
Starting point is 00:00:35 I can't show you the entire thing, obviously. So if you want to go watch the thing in its entirety, I would highly recommend you do that. You can go to the YouTube channel or wherever you can find SNL. And then I have some quotes in the article that we can talk about. But I figure we laugh together on this beautiful Sunday. So let's get right into it. Make sure to subscribe down below.

I greatly appreciate it. And without further ado, let's do it. S&L's Trump exposes how Epstein caused sky-high gas prices. Yes, they are not letting the Epstein story go, which is great.
Starting point is 00:01:09 James Austin Johnson's Donald Trump crashed the latest Saturday night live cold open to explain why gas prices have risen so much recently. I'm glad we're getting an explanation. The Epstein files, he shouted. It's called Butterfly Effect. Epstein was first Domino. He made the sound effect of Domino's falling over, then shouted, war and I actually do have a clip of this moment which I thought was great just watch
Starting point is 00:01:34 gas crisis darling dad why does gas cost so much the Epstein fire but possibly not it's called butterfly effect right Epstein was first domino Epstein Bing Bing Bing bong bong bing war. Anyway, hi, it's me, Donald Trump. You might remember me from such campaign promises as lower gas prices and no more wars. That was great. You know, he does such a good job of just the mannerisms of Donald Trump. Like the way that he's standing, this is exactly how Donald Trump stands and the way that he talks and what he does with his voice and everything. It is such a spot-on impression. It's just so funny. You know, you'd remember him from campaign promises such as no more wars or no lower gas prices. Sike. I mean, you know, it's a joke, but it's also very true that Donald Trump has completely abandoned those promises.
Starting point is 00:02:38 And, well, look where we are now. The complete opposite, which, you know, I'm pretty sure you, me and everybody at home kind of warned everybody that this would happen. And so we were right about that. But I digress. I'm not here to say I told you so. Maybe a little bit. The joke referenced the running theory shared by late night comedians.
Starting point is 00:02:56 like Jimmy Kimmel, love Jimmy Kimmel as well, that Trump has been doing everything he can to distract from his appearances in the Epstein files, including going to war. And that also includes his drone strikes against Iran, the war that we've launched with Israel against Iran. The ongoing conflict has, of course, disrupted the Strait of Hormuz trade route, which has led to rapidly rising gas prices, gas prices, which are very high because of war with Iran, which is where they make gas. As and else Trump said, I wish someone had told me that, which, you know, what's scary is that we read quotes like this. And genuinely, if I just presented this quote to you and said that Donald Trump really said it, I don't think you'd be surprised. I think you might be like,
Starting point is 00:03:41 yeah, okay, that actually makes sense. That tracks for Donald Trump. It's, you know, a scary time in America where quotes that are meant to be satire can actually be perceived as something that Donald Trump really would say, you know, who he actually is. Trump was soon joined in the cold open by Colin Jost Pete Hegsat saying it's great to see you, Mr. President, and I also have a clip of that moment as well, because it was just so funny. Watch. Point is, I have everything under control, okay? I've been meeting with the nation's top minds. Jake Paul. He was booed very badly at the Mike Dyson fight. We hate to hear booze. someone say booze
Starting point is 00:04:22 Hey so I had a couple road sodas chill Pete Hankseth as I live and struggle to breathe It's great to see you Mr. President Before I begin I just want to thank you sincerely for these beautiful
Starting point is 00:04:45 size 16 floor shime shoes Oh man And that's in I don't know If you've seen this or not I imagine you have But it's referencing the reports that Trump is forcing his officials to wear oversized dress shoes. The camera is then closed in on Hegstath's own comically oversized leather oxfords.
Starting point is 00:05:10 I don't know if you've seen the story. It is ludicrous that Donald Trump is apparently ordering shoes for everybody that comes into the White House, like anybody that has meetings with him. And so you've seen people like Marker Rubio or Pete Hexath or just people in the Trump administration wearing shoes that are far too big for them because Trump just like picks a size and then tells them to wear it. And so I don't know if this is taxpayer dollars that are paying for these shoes. I imagine that they are. But what a terrible investment of taxpayer dollars, am I right? For the third week in a row, S&L's Hagseth tried and failed to give a
Starting point is 00:05:44 promising update on Trump's war in Iran, saying, all you dwebes, stop saying the straight of Hormuz is closed. It's wide open. Sure, there's a bunch of landmines floating in the water, water minds, I guess. But if you're an oil tanker and you're driving it and you see one of the mines, just do what I used to do at every DUI checkpoint. Close your eyes and gun it. Yeah. You know, hey, listen, again, you know, this is another one of those quotes where I'm reading it and it's hard to distinguish fact from fiction with this administration because genuinely, the Trump administration is telling these ships to just go through the Strait of Hormuz. Even though it's incredibly likely that Iran has laid mines at the ocean in the water to blow up
Starting point is 00:06:36 these ships, even though the Houthis are going to start launching bombs at these ships that are trying to go through the strait. Donald Trump's just like, yeah, you should just go for it. Just see what happens. And Pete Hegseth has kind of echoed that sentiment. So again, S&L is making a joke? But is it really a joke? I mean, you know, the lines are kind of getting blurred here these days. And that wraps it up for this segment.
Starting point is 00:06:59 And, of course, there's much more, as I said. You should definitely go watch the entire thing if you get the opportunity. But so funny. And I am a firm believer that in times like this, comedy is so important, not only as a means to just kind of make us laugh and entertain us and, you know, take our minds away from the insanity of it all. But I also believe it's a really great form of resistance, truly. And I'm not saying that ironically, I mean that, you know, getting people to laugh while also informing people while doing it is really helpful. And it's just yet another way that we can spread to the masses that, hey, this is actually the reality. We're laughing.
Starting point is 00:07:35 We're talking about high gas prices. We're talking about Iran. We're talking about the Epstein files. These things aren't actually jokes, though. I mean, they're not fictional stories that we're making up for the purpose of the show. They're actually happening. And so I always appreciate when S&L goes at Donald Trump for these things and makes fun of him in a way that is both factual. and also just funny at the same time.
Starting point is 00:07:54 But anyway, I will leave the video there. Just thought we should have a little bit of fun on this Sunday. And we do it only every once in a while, but I always enjoy doing it. It genuinely makes me laugh. So anyway, I will leave the video there. Thank you so much for watching. It means the world that you are here.
Starting point is 00:08:10 And I hope you get a chance to see the entire thing. Make sure to subscribe down below. Drop a like on the video, comment. Let me know what you think about this segment. And of course, everything going on in the United States and around the world. if you're on Apple or Spotify, please make sure to rate the show five stars
Starting point is 00:08:24 and follow along. I really appreciate it. Have an amazing rest of your day and we will talk soon.
