Where have I seen this story before?
Donald Trump takes something that's not an issue, creates an issue, creates a crisis,
and then abandons that crisis without fixing it and claims victory.
He does it with everything he does, whether it be tariffs, war, or something else,
Donald Trump is cyclic in this nature.
He is predictable because according to the Wall Street Journal, he's doing it again.
They're reporting that Trump is telling his aides privately that he's willing to end the war with Iran
without opening the straight of Hormuz.
So he's willing to allow it to be closed,
roiling the global economy,
causing everything to be more expensive
for not only Americans, but people around the world,
and he's willing to declare victory after that,
say the United States got exactly what we wanted.
And it reminded me of this meme
that I see every time Donald Trump does this.
I make a stupid and corrupt decision.
Something really bad happens.
I convince my followers,
the problem is now magically solved.
I reverse my stupid decision.
and then it goes round and round and round again.
He does it every single time and now we're here.
So let's get into the story.
Let's talk about it because this is just absurd.
It seems like Donald Trump actually somewhat confirmed this reporting on social media yesterday
with a post about Iran.
He said the United States of America is in serious discussions with a new and more reasonable regime
to end our military operations in Iran.
He's been saying this for weeks.
Nothing has happened.
He continues to bomb Iran.
Iran continues to bomb us.
Great progress has been.
made, but if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be,
and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately open for business, we will conclude our lovely
stay in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their electric generating plants,
oil wells, and Karg Island, and possibly all desalination plants, which we have purposely not touched.
This will be in retribution for our many soldiers and others that Iran has butchered and killed
over the old regime's 47-year reign of terror. Thank you for your attention to this
matter. So it seems like Donald Trump is saying, we are willing to get out of Iran, and if the
Strait of Hormuz is not open, we'll just blow everything up, but that doesn't open the
Strait of Hormuz. So he kind of somewhat confirmed what he's been saying privately to advisors
in this post, and that, of course, brings us to this article where they quote people here. Donald
Trump told AIDS he's willing to end the U.S. military campaign against Iran, even if the Strait of Hormuz
remains largely closed. Administration officials said, likely extending Tehran's firm grip on the
waterway and leaving a complex operation to reopen it for a later date. And I just wonder,
for the MAGA fans out there, not that any of them are watching, but just generally thinking
out loud here, is this the golden age? I'm just, you know, they promised us a golden age.
They said that Donald Trump would bring economic prosperity. And now he's created an economic
crisis for not only countries like the United States, but our allies around the world.
And now he's just willing to abandon that crisis without any solution. Just masterful gambit. Art of
the deal, you might say. I mean, it's absurd. In recent days, Trump and his AIDS assess that a mission
to pry open the choke point would push the conflict beyond his timeline of four to six weeks.
We wouldn't be here if they never did it in the first place. He decided that the United States
should achieve its main goals of hobbling Iran's navy and its missile stocks and wind down current
hostilities while pressuring Tehran diplomatically to resume the free flow of trade. So they think
that diplomacy works with some things, they're willing to pursue diplomacy in some avenues, but not
others. Interesting. If that fails, Washington would press allies in Europe and the Gulf to take the lead on
reopening the straight. Great, you know, great. Honestly, maybe that's a better move because these leaders
in Europe are far more competent than Donald Trump. So maybe if they're behind the wheel,
something can actually get done here. But what a typical Trump move. Again, I just keep going back
to this idea. He caused a crisis. It is him who put the entire world in this position. And now he's just
going to push that crisis onto our allies in Europe and said, here, you take it, I'm done.
I don't want to play with it anymore. You do it. You do the hard work. Oh my, he is so predictable,
so predictable. There are also military options the president could decide on, but they are not his
immediate priority. Over the past month, Trump has expressed various opinions in public on how to
handle the straight, part of a larger pattern of giving conflicting goals and objectives of the war
overall, he changes his mind literally every day. We've covered that extensively on the show,
where we get an article one day about him wanting to end the war. The next he says, let's send the
troops in. He has at times threatened to bomb civilian energy infrastructure if the waterway
isn't reopened by a certain date, as we just saw. On other occasions, he has played down
the importance of the strait to the United States and said its closure is a problem for other
nations to solve. What an economic genius he is. You know, ever since the Strait of Hormuz has
been closed, oil prices, gas prices in the United States,
have gone up exponentially.
But no, Donald Trump wants you to believe that this closing of the straight is a problem
for other countries, just not us as we have, you know, $5, $6, $7 gallon gas in the United States.
Great.
He's just so smart, isn't he?
I mean, you know, there was a sign at the No King's protest that I love that said the
dumbest M. F her, mother effer, put it that way, should, and the president of the United
States should not be the same person.
The dumbest person in the world and the president should not be the same person
and yet that is where we find ourselves here in this country.
The longer the straight remains closed, the more it will royal the global economy and boost gas prices.
Multiple countries, including U.S. allies, are reeling from the downturn in energy supply that once flowed freely through the checkpoint.
Industries that rely on items such as fertilizer to grow food or helium to make computer chips are suffering from shortages.
And on that very note, we have some quotes from leaders outside of the United States about what's next.
how will this affect the economy in the future?
And their quotes are harrowing.
I mean, they are saying, you know, they cannot sleep based on what they know about what's to come next.
Just listen to some of this stuff.
South Korea's president today, as in yesterday.
The world is in turmoil over the energy crisis.
The situation is so serious that it has even kept me up at night.
Immediate problem is grave enough, but the outlook ahead seems even more unstable.
This situation is worse than expected.
How about Italy's defense minister on the consequence
of the Iran War for Italy.
Quote, I am forced to know things about what could happen in the coming week
and the effects that will have on the economy and our daily lives
that no longer allow me to sleep.
Great.
Oh, it gives me such confidence.
Aston-Bruer, chief of the German, I think that says defense staff.
Yeah, defense staff.
Quote, Germany no longer regards the USA as a reliable defense partner.
We are assuming conflict with Russia in the next few years is inevitable, and we are re-arming.
Donald Trump's America, Donald Trump's world.
God, we had it so good with Joe Biden.
We had it so good with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
We really, really did.
Oh, my God.
The competency in the Oval Office, people who knew what they were doing,
world leaders who could trust the United States as a defense partner.
They didn't have to worry about rearming themselves because of possible war in their continents.
I'm just so, I'm just, I cannot, I cannot believe it.
Without a swift return to safe passages, Tehran will.
continued to threaten world trade until the United States and its partners either negotiate a deal
or forcibly end this crisis.
Suzanne Maloney and Iran expert and vice president at the Brooking Institute in Washington
called ending military operations before the trade is open unbelievably irresponsible.
Of course it is.
The U.S. and Israel started the war together and can't walk away from the fallout.
Energy markets are inherently global and there is no possibility of insulating the United
States from the economic damage that is already occurring and will become exponentially worse
if the closure of the strait continues.
Trump's desire to end the war quickly is at odds with other moves he is planning to make.
This weekend, the USS Tripoli and the 31st Marine Expeditiary Unit entered the region.
Trump has also ordered elements of the 82nd Airborne and is considering sending additional
troops to the Middle East, including around 10,000 ground troops, according to the Wall Street
Journal. Meanwhile, he is referred to the war as an excursion and a lovely stay. A lovely stay.
We've had 13 troops die. Hundreds of Americans injured from drone strikes from Iran. And he calls
that a lovely stay. Well, he golfs. You know, he's out there golfing everybody. And we're left
here wondering, well, is he going to end the war? He says that one day. And then the next day,
he says he's not. And then the next day, he changes his mind. It is a disaster. I mean, I think
that was already kind of clear for most people watching this. But this.
This is a complete unmitigated disaster, and the reality is, is there's no plan.
There has never been a plan.
We are screwed.
I mean, if what the Wall Street Journal is reporting is true, which 100% it is.
I've actually been inside the Wall Street Journal building for an interview, and I saw
the level of fact-checking that they specifically go through before they publish something,
and that extends for the New York Times, Washington Post, all these major news agencies.
I've seen the level of fact-checking.
This is true, and this is what Donald Trump is currently planning.
And if it is the case, and this does happen, I can't.
We are talking about a recession we haven't seen since like 2008.
I mean, really, we are.
So anyway, I will leave the video there.
