Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, folks, it seems like Donald Trump has changed his mind again about the war with Iran. Shocker, I know. Just the other day, he was talking a big talk saying the United States would obliterate Iran. No questions asked. There would be nothing left behind. And now fast forward to today, Donald Trump is privately telling his aides that actually he wants a speedy end to the war. And I think I know why he's saying this. They talk about it in the article, but we also have some context clues as to, you know, what's going on out there, what's taking place in the media.
Starting point is 00:00:30 but I want to go through this story with you in just a moment. Before I do that, please make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment. Let me know what you think about this. If there's anything I missed that you want me to talk about if you're on Apple or Spotify, please make sure to rate the show five stars and follow along. It goes an incredibly long way. Without further ado, let's get into it. So first, let's just start with what Donald Trump said just the other day.
Starting point is 00:00:51 March 21st, Trump gave Iran an ultimatum, said, quote, if Iran doesn't fully open without threat the strait of Hormuz within 48 hours from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various power plants starting with the biggest one first. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Now, this seems like a pretty serious threat. Donald Trump is talking business here. Except within 24 hours of this ultimatum, he changed it to five days, saying that productive talks have occurred between the United States and Iran, and then the Iranian government came out and said no talks have happened whatsoever, and now Donald Trump has seemingly fully backed off of this threat.
Starting point is 00:01:28 He tacoed. You know, he always chickens out. He did it again, despite issuing the threat very publicly for the entire world to see. So this is what he was saying the other day. And actually, just yesterday, he was talking about Iran capitulating, making a deal with the United States, whether they like it or not. Watch like we're doing in the Middle East with Iran. And they are negotiating, by the way, and they want to make a deal so badly.
Starting point is 00:01:50 But they're afraid to say it because they figure they'll be killed by their own people. They're also afraid they'll be killed by us. It has never been ahead of a country that wanted that job less than being the head of Iran. I don't want it. We'll listen to some of the things they say we hear very clearly. They say, I don't want it. We'd like to make you the next supreme leader. No, thank you.
Starting point is 00:02:21 I don't want it. So there you go. Trump is saying that Iran are the ones wanting to make the deal. It's not us. We're ready to keep going. But Iran wants to make the deal. Okay. But Donald Trump is also seeing the numbers.
Starting point is 00:02:35 This was reported by CNN last night. The polling for Trump is not great. The polling for Republicans across the board, even worse. Just watch. As questions mount over the war in Iran and the White House seeks an off-ramp, angst is growing among Americans, Republicans, key leaders, who all seem to be losing patience with President Trump and his administration over the ongoing conflict. New polling shows a majority.
Starting point is 00:03:02 of voters broadly oppose U.S. military action in Iran. A separate survey finds 59% of Americans think it's gone too far. And another 59% think the U.S. made the wrong decision to begin with. The White House, though, refusing to back down. So 60% of Americans saying that Trump made the wrong decision, those are some devastating numbers, especially when you factor in the midterms, you know, all these independents that might vote for Democrats instead, all these moderate Republicans who might vote for Democrats instead. These are some pretty terrible numbers for Donald Trump and the Republicans. And not only that, not only are they focused on the polling, not only are they paying attention
Starting point is 00:03:42 to the numbers, but also, you know, they don't like to talk about this. And it doesn't bring us any joy to talk about it. But Donald Trump went into this war completely unprepared and U.S. troops have suffered. We got reporting from the New York Times yesterday that Iran's attacks have now forced U.S. troops to work remotely. Donald Trump says the war is going perfectly. it couldn't be going better, except it's not the truth. I mean, it's the exact opposite, matter of fact, and this article talks about it.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Iran has bombed U.S. bases across the Middle East and retaliation for the war, forcing many American troops to relocate to hotels and office spaces throughout the region. So now much of the land-based military is, in essence, fighting the war while working remotely, with the exception of fighter pilots and crews, of course. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has urged people to report these new locations, as it hunts for the troops. U.S. military officials say that threat is not stopping the Pentagon from carrying out the war against Iran.
Starting point is 00:04:39 But that is a pretty scary threat, a threat that I hope Donald Trump is taking seriously, although I'm not exactly holding my breath. The relocation of troops to makeshift. One official called them alternative sites raises questions about the Trump administration's preparations for the war. I mean, seriously, they didn't have any backup plan for the bases. They didn't think the bases were going to get targeted. I mean, it's just complete, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:01 incompetence. They were wildly unprepared for this war. They rushed into it, and now here we are. There were close to 40,000 U.S. troops in the region when the war started, and of course, more have been dispersed to the Middle East recently as part of the operation. Iran has, of course, responded forcefully to the Joint American and Israeli strikes targeting not only U.S. bases, but also embassies and oil and gas infrastructure throughout the region. Many of the 13 military bases in the region used by American troops are all but uninhabitable, uninhabitable. Uninhabitable. So you can't even be there anymore because of the attacks and Donald Trump did not have a backup plan. And that brings us to this.
Starting point is 00:05:38 You know, why is Donald Trump wanting to end this war? Why does he all of the sudden want a speedy off ramp, maybe ending it this week? Well, it's because of what we just talked about, the numbers and the devastation that is taking place that doesn't look good for him. To be clear, Donald Trump doesn't care if American soldiers are injured or killed. He's proven that time and time again. He cares about his ego, his public perception, his numbers. That's what he cares about. This article says from the Wall Street Journal,
Starting point is 00:06:04 Trump has told associates in recent days that he wants to avoid a protracted war in Iran, and that he hopes to bring the conflict to an end in the coming weeks. Nearly one month into the war, the president has privately informed his advisors. He think the conflict is in its final stages, urging them to stick to the four to six week timeline he has outlined publicly. Now, I don't believe that six week, that four to six week timeline is going to stick whatsoever. I don't think we're going to end it within that time frame. Donald Trump is essentially asking them to just back him publicly, back up what I'm saying, whether
Starting point is 00:06:34 it's true or not. I mean, you know, pretty typical. The problem is Trump has no easy options for ending the war and peace negotiations are at a nascent stage. And that's exactly right. I mean, Iran has already rejected a U.S. proposal sent to them. It was a 15-point plan. They have sent a plan back to the United States, which is completely unacceptable for us as well. What Iran wanted were a new order for the Strait of Hormuz that would allow Iran to collect fees, guarantees that the war wouldn't restart and an end to Israeli strikes on Hezbollah, lifting all sanctions on Iran, permitting Iran to keep its missile program with no negotiations to limit it, and a U.S. official has already called the demands ridiculous and unrealistic. So we're no closer to a peace deal. So Trump can want an easy,
Starting point is 00:07:18 speedy way out of this war all he wants. I mean, he can go out there and scream it from the rooftops. It doesn't exist. Unless, of course, Donald Trump decides to completely screw the United States, make an even worse deal with Iran and go from there to get out of the war, it wouldn't surprise me. I wouldn't put it past him to just make a deal for the sake of making a deal and coming back and declaring victory, even though it might put us in even a worse position than we were before this war. In discussions with outside political allies, his attention has at times shifted to other topics, including the coming midterm elections, as well as his decision to send ICE agents to airports in an attempt to speed up those lines, which has not happened.
Starting point is 00:07:56 The president appears ready to shift to his next big challenge. Another person who spoke to him recently said, though Trump didn't say what that might be. Can you only imagine what the next big challenge Donald Trump wants to do is? I mean, what? We have, you know, ICE terrorizing people in the streets, covering up the Epstein files, war with Iran, taking over Venezuela, attacking world leaders, threatening Greenland. I mean, how many different crises have we had in the Trump administration? I can only imagine what his next big challenge is.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Trump this week signaled renewed interest in reaching a diplomatic settlement to end the conflict, walking back a weekend threat to strike Iran's power plants, as we talked about earlier. Middle Eastern intermediaries have traded opening proposals from Tehran in Washington, and U.S. officials have said they are open to further discussions. One idea that Trump has floated to advisors securing U.S. access to some of Iran's oil as part of any deal to end the war, according to senior officials, but I really just don't see that happening. Maybe they will. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:53 I can't see Iran agreeing to that. The U.S. will, quote, hit Iran harder than they've ever been hit before if Tehran doesn't make an agreement and the conflict. Caroline Levitt told reporters on Wednesday. Trump does not bluff, she said, and he's prepared to unleash hell. How many times have we heard that before? Whether it be about the tariffs or war, we've heard it time and time again. Trump is willing to order U.S. troops on Iranian soil, but is reluctant to do so, in part because it could upend his goal of a speedier end to the conflict. He is concerned that the number of U.S. troops killed or injured in the operation could rise if the war continues, which is, of course, the case.
Starting point is 00:09:27 People close to the president cautioned that it is often difficult to predict what decisions Trump might make about the war, noting that as the conflict has unfolded, he has vacillated between the scenes between embracing diplomacy and ramping up strikes. Yeah, Donald Trump changes his mind basically every day about this stuff. So when I, you know, I said this earlier, I'm serious. in the next couple of days, we could be talking about the complete opposite headline. We could be talking about troops on the ground. I mean, there are a lot of pieces of reporting out there indicating that that's what Trump is going to do next, but he really just does change his mind.
Starting point is 00:10:00 So that's what we're thinking for today. Donald Trump for today wants a speedy end. Tomorrow, you know, it's a different story. He just shifts all the time. He's a shapeshifter. But anyway, I will leave the video there. I just wanted to talk about this and everything we're getting, you know, all these updates we're getting about the Iran War. But I will leave it there.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Thank you so much for watching. please make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment. Let me know what you think about this.
