Starting point is 00:00:00 Look, folks, if you told me on January 20, 20, 25, that in Donald Trump's second term, he would go to war with Iran and Israel helping him do it, he would cover up the Epstein files, prices would be going up, not down, inflation would still be high, and he's turning on some of his key campaign promises because they're so wildly unpopular, I would absolutely believe you. Anybody could have seen this coming. And now the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Donald Trump has told his inner circle that some of his mass deportation, policies went too far. Now let's be clear about something. Donald Trump is not saying they went too far because they're inhumane. They violate basic human rights and they're illegal. But rather, Donald Trump is saying it went too far because his polling numbers are going down because the Republicans are now in some deep, deep trouble for the 26 midterms. But nonetheless, it seems like Donald Trump is acknowledging that many parts of his administration have been a complete failure
Starting point is 00:00:58 and he's looking to change course. So we're going to talk about this article and more. There's actually a lot of news surrounding this that has come out in the past couple of weeks or so. Before I do any of that, though, please make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment, let me know your thoughts down below.
Starting point is 00:01:12 I always love to hear from you. If you're on Apple or Spotify, please make sure to rate the show five stars and follow along. It goes an incredibly long way. I appreciate every single one of you. And let's just start here. Let's go back a little bit.
Starting point is 00:01:23 March 10th, it was revealed that Donald Trump's administration has told House Republic to stop talking about mass deportations. Isn't that funny? They rub this issue in our face in the 2024 election, once Donald Trump got elected. Now it's 2026. And the American people have seen the realities
Starting point is 00:01:41 of Donald Trump's immigration policies, the mass deportations, the sending ice into our communities banging on doors without warrants. And they don't like it. And so the Republicans in the White House are panicking. And they're saying, hey, do not make this part of your campaign messaging for 2026.
Starting point is 00:01:57 This is from Axios, and they write that White House Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair, who I've beefed with on Twitter, by the way, he's a total loser, privately urged House Republicans on Tuesday to stop emphasizing mass deportations and instead focus their messaging on removing violent criminals, according to sources in closed door briefings. By the way, Democrats are the one saying, hey, let's get the bad people out. Let's hold the bad people accountable, as in violent criminals, people who commit crime, and give a pathway to citizenship for the people who've been here for 30 years. They're working a job. They're giving back to their communities. They've never gotten so much as a speeding ticket. Let's give them a pathway to citizenship. So Republicans are moving closer to us on immigration after they went so far right, completely out there.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Now they're running back because they know how unpopular it is. Mass deportations were, of course, central to the Republican Party's 2024 campaign message. But nearly half of Americans say Trump's mass deportation campaign is too aggressive, including one in five voters who backed him in 2024. according to a political poll. Blair delivered the message during a policy listening session with House Republicans at their annual retreat in Florida. He encouraged members to focus on deporting, as we mentioned, violent offenders rather than defending the broad concept of mass removals. And they didn't change the policy, by the way.
Starting point is 00:03:14 It's still very much in place. They just don't want to be honest about what they're doing with the American people. The advice signals a recalibration by the White House and reflects growing concern among some Republicans that Democrats are successfully framing, Trump's immigration policy as overly sweeping and indiscriminate, which it absolutely is. And the numbers are showing that. I actually think this poll they cited from Politico is one of the lower ones. There are other polls showing that virtually, you know, like 60 to 70 percent of Americans don't support what Donald Trump is doing. And Representative Ted Liu, a Democrat responded to this story in particular saying Trump has already lost. He believed America would
Starting point is 00:03:50 embrace his dark vision of anonymous mass federal agents terrorizing communities to conduct mass deportations. the American people said hell no, and now Trump and Republicans are backtracking. November is coming. November is right around the corner. And on top of this, speaking of which, speaking of regret, look at this, the New York Times is reporting just the other day to address farm labor shortage. The Trump administration is now turning to migrant workers. Isn't that fascinating? They demonized immigrants.
Starting point is 00:04:21 They said that they were bad people doing bad things. They don't want to just have a better life for them and their families. they're all bad is what Donald Trump was saying, and now they're realizing that, you know, some of these people are actually good people and they work hard. They're trying to make a better life for themselves. They want to achieve the American dream. You know, it's just funny how things come full circle. And now they won't say it.
Starting point is 00:04:42 They won't, they won't go out to the American people and say it, but they know they're wrong. For years, the agricultural sector has faced a type labor market as farm workers age, and fewer new immigrants and younger Americans are willing to toil in the fields. Top Trump administration officials vowed that mass. deportations would help, leading to higher wages with better benefits and a 100% American workforce. But the administration is quietly acknowledged in recent months that its immigration raids and crackdown on the border have aggravated the issue. So it has instead turned to an alternative source, making it cheaper for farmers to hire immigrant farm workers on temporary
Starting point is 00:05:14 visas. That's just one of the many, many stories that are showing a broad backfire for the Trump administration. The final one I want to show you is more poking fun at Ron DeSantis because who doesn't like doing that. In Florida, Ronda, Ron DeSantis created a council of eight conservative MAGA sheriffs charged with shaping hardline immigration policy. Except instead of six, instead six of the eight, all vocal Trump supporters publicly say they want to end mass deportations. A complete backfire on Ron DeSantis and the Republicans. And that brings us here that Donald Trump is seeing the political wins. He's seeing the stories we just talked about. And he's telling his inner circle, maybe they went too far,
Starting point is 00:05:52 which is like, yeah, is the sky blue and the grass green? Donald Trump. Trump is seeking to lower the profile of his mass deportation effort and has directed his top advisors to adopt a new approach on one of his central campaign promises. In conversations with top advisors and Melania, interesting that he's talking to Melania about this, Trump has become convinced that some of his administration's deportation policies have gone too far and voters don't like the term mass deportation. The president has told them he wants to see more attention on arresting bad guys and less chaos in American cities. You know, it's so remarkable that he's like, yeah, I want to see less of the. issue that I caused. I mean, think about what he's saying. He wants less chaos in American cities. You're the one who sent ice into these American cities and you gave them different
Starting point is 00:06:34 operation names to do it. You're to blame and you want less chaos. You're the chaos causer. I mean, you know, he has no self-awareness, of course, but he'll never blame him for anything, you know. The desire for an immigration reset is being driven in part by Trump's White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles, who believes the president's immigration team has turned one of his marquee issues into more of a challenging issue ahead of the midterms. As a result, the administration is attempting to change not only how it talks about the issue, but also what actual enforcement looks like on the ground. Interesting. The shift has been spearheaded by White House border czar Tom Homan since he took over ICE operations in Minneapolis, which is terrifying that this is the guy
Starting point is 00:07:16 in charge of it. And this also speaks to, you know, the false confidence that the Trump administration had after the 2024 election. I mean, Donald Trump to this day says, you know, it was a landslide election, I have a mandate to do whatever he wants. Not really. He barely won the popular vote. He barely won the vote in some of these swing states. I mean, you know, you have like 100, 200,000 votes that flip in the three swing states up in the Midwest. Kamala Harris would be president right now. So he doesn't have this mandate. He thought that every American voted for him. He could just go in there and do whatever, be as extreme as possible. And that strategy is backfiring on him right now. Even Susie Wiles is recognizing that. Ice leadership isn't moving forward for now with high profile
Starting point is 00:07:53 operations, like the ones that previously conducted in big blue cities like Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Minneapolis. Thankfully, I mean, we saw what happened in Minneapolis. The murder of two American citizens, Renee Nicole Good and Alex Prattie. We haven't forgotten about them. The Trump administration might have. We haven't forgotten about them. So ICE is there. Apparently right now is not doing that. Arrests of immigrants have ticked down to roughly 1,200 a day from more than 1,500 a day when ICE was running its unprecedented operation in Minnesota. Quote, nobody is changing the administration's immigration enforcement agenda. Trump's highest priority has always been the deportation of undocumented immigrants
Starting point is 00:08:29 who endanger American communities, said a White House spokeswoman. Trump's advisors view the firing of Christy Noem as a prime moment for a reset. Mark Wayne Mullen, the president's pick to succeed, Noam, said at his confirmation hearing that if confirmed, he would redirect ICE from some of the more confrontational clashes that have come to define the agency in favor of a more cooperative approach with local officials. Let me put it on the record right now. I do not trust Mark Wayne Mullen. You know, he said that under oath, I couldn't care less.
Starting point is 00:08:56 I mean, give me a break. Does anybody think that this Republican senator, who's essentially a puppet for Donald Trump, a stooge, is going to get in there and actually really change things up and make ice more humane? Yeah, don't think so. Don't think so. He also promised to reverse several of Nome's ICE directives, including one policy, giving officers permission to force entry into immigrants' private homes without a criminal warrant signed by a judge, which, by the way, is insane.
Starting point is 00:09:21 but do I have faith that he's actually going to reverse this? No, I do not. He said, my goal in six months is that we're not in the lead story every day. Trump has complained to advisors in recent days about the bad headlines that he has received under Nome's tenure and has asked AIDS if they were aware of her unusual contract approval process. Several polls early in Trump's term found that voters strongly supported his goal of deporting undocumented immigrants. Since then, some polls have found increasing opposition to his approach. And the shift in tone is alarming some of his close. advisors who spent years prepped preparing for a second Trump term in which they hoped he would enact the widespread deportation campaign they have long advocated for. Rosemary Jenks, the co-founder of the Immigration Accountability Project, a conservative group, said Republicans need to turn their base out for the midterms and not talking about Trump's promises, his signature
Starting point is 00:10:11 campaign promise, is not the way to turn them out. So, man, isn't that something, and by the way, look at the top. Look at all those stocks going down, just as a side note. Look at all. these stocks going down. That's global stocks right there. You're looking at the Asia Dow, of course. But, you know, sign of Donald Trump's America because the S&P, the Dow is following suit because of this war that he caused. But regardless of all that, man, a disaster for the Trump administration, isn't it? I mean, good for America that maybe things will lighten up and he won't be targeting, you know, these innocent folks who really haven't done anything wrong. We'll see, though, you know, not holding my breath exactly that he's going to do the right thing. But remarkable, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:48 again, he thought he had this mandate. He could do whatever he wants. It's so popular. He talked about it all 2024. You know, let's do it. Not so fast. Not so fast. So anyway, I will leave the video there. I just wanted to talk to you about this really bombshell story that Trump administration is perhaps becoming aware of their mortality, which is, you know, they're not going to be there forever. And maybe voters don't want them to be there forever. So thank you so much for watching. I will leave the video there. Please make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment. Let me know what you think about this story. If you're on Apple or Spotify,
Starting point is 00:11:20 please make sure to rate the show five stars and follow along. As I said at the beginning, really goes a long way. Have an amazing rest of your day. If you can, given everything that's going on, and we will talk soon.
