All right, folks, look, if you've watched my show for any amount of time, you know that I will take any opportunity to laugh at Donald Trump, laugh at his regime, and laugh at their many public embarrassments.
But this one right here, this public humiliation, might take the cake for the best one this year so far.
And my favorite story in politics right now.
So a South Park writer bought the website domains for the Trump Kennedy Center.org and the Trump Kennedy Center.com.
they've completely remade the website in their image.
And let's just say that Donald Trump would not love what the websites look like right now as I'm filming this.
So we're going to get into the story.
I'm going to show you the website, break it all down before I do any of that.
Make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment.
Let me know what you think about this story.
Without further ado, let's get into it.
So, of course, we have all been collectively watching in horror as Donald Trump destroys the Kennedy Center.
He gutted the board over the summer, replaced.
everybody on it with loyalists. He's now destroying the building by putting his name on it. It says the Donald
J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts. It used to, of course,
just say the Kennedy Center, but Donald Trump is doing what every want-to-be dictator around the
world does, putting their names on buildings, putting statues of themselves up, hanging portraits
of themselves everywhere. They all have very small egos. They're also very narcissistic, so they want to
see themselves everywhere to make sure that they're feeling okay. But because of Donald Trump's
destruction of the Kennedy Center, it's now collapsing. Performers are canceling. They don't
want to perform. Visitors don't want to visit. They don't want to watch their performances and the
building and the center, which we all once adored. And I still love the concept of it is collapsing
because of Donald Trump. A veteran jazz ensemble and a New York dance company have canceled events
at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts,
intensifying the fallout at one of the nation's preeminent arts centers
after it was renamed to include Donald Trump.
And I very much appreciate that the New York Times and other media outlets
are still calling it the Kennedy Center,
and they're not calling it the Trump Kennedy Center.
You will never catch me calling it that.
That is not happening.
The Center had previously promoted two New Year's Eve performances
by the Cookers as an all-star jazz septet
that will ignite the terrorist theater stage with fire and soul.
but those performances like an annual Christmas Eve jazz concert hosted by Chuck Redd are now canceled.
The Cookers did not give a reason for the decision in a statement on Monday that said, quote,
jazz was born from struggle and from a relentless insistence on freedom, freedom of thought,
of expression, and of the full human voice.
Now, they're not explicitly saying they're canceling because of Donald Trump,
but the statement makes it kind of clear.
But in addition to that, the band's drummer, Billy Hart, told the New York Times that the center's name change
had evidently played a role.
He acknowledged that the group was concerned about possible reprisals.
Doug Verone and Dancers, a New York Dance Company, also said on Monday that it was canceling
two performances in April that had been intended to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
Mr. Verone, the head of the company, said they would lose $40,000, $40,000 by pulling out.
Quote, it is financially devastating, but morally exhilarating, he said in an email.
The Kennedy Center did not respond to request for comment on Monday about these canceled performances.
Now, of course, the board is now complete loyalist to Donald Trump, people who just do his bidding.
So Richard Grinnell, who you might recognize as one of Donald Trump's loyalists, has responded aggressively.
They filed, or at least threatened, I should say, a $1 million lawsuit against Mr. Red after he canceled the Christmas Eve concert.
In a letter, Grinnell said, your decision to withdraw at the last moment explicitly in response.
to the center's recent renaming, which honors Donald Trump, is classic intolerance.
And there's more to the story.
More artists are pulling out, such as Christy Lee, a folk singer from Alabama, who said,
I won't lie to you, canceling shows hurts.
This is how I keep the lights on, but losing my integrity would cost me more than any paycheck.
It's just a complete disaster for Donald Trump.
And that brings us to this.
A comedian buying the domain.
So this is according to the Washington Post.
The Trump-Kennedycenter.org website is taken.
this comedian owns it.
Of course, Donald Trump renamed the center,
and you'd think that the organization's leaders
might have wanted a new website
to replace kennedycenter.org too,
but if they'd hope for
Trump-Kennedycenter.org or Trump-Kennedycenter.com,
they were out of luck.
A comedian bought it months ago, months ago.
As soon as Trump began gutting
the Kennedy Center board earlier this year,
I thought, yep, that name's going on the building,
explained Toby Morton,
a comedy writer with South Park and Mad TV credits who buys political domains and turns them into satirical websites as a form of activism.
I love it.
So when he was watching Donald Trump destroy the Kennedy Center, before Donald Trump even announced that he was planning to put his name on the building, he bought the domains ahead of time.
Because Donald Trump is just so predictable.
He puts his name on buildings.
He loves these statues, loves these portraits.
As we just mentioned, the White House is just covered in photos of him.
I mean, this is so predictable, and he did it.
And I'm so thankful that he did.
And we're going to look at the website in just a moment.
All year, Morton followed news of Trump's takeover of the institution,
how the president purged many of its existing board members,
replaced them with loyalists,
then announced plans to personally host the Kennedy Center honors,
which, by the way, the ratings crumbled.
And in August, he snapped up the rights to both Trump-Canadycenter.org
and Trump-Kennedycenter.com.
Quote, the rest, he writes,
in an email interview with the post, followed on schedule.
Because again, Donald Trump is just that predictable.
It's not uncommon for people to speculatively buy website domains that could be valuable one day.
Often it only costs like $15 to $30 to register a new domain, but then you can sell it on for more
later.
And Morton isn't in the game to sell off his domains.
He's got websites for about 50 of them.
So he trolls a number of different Republican politicians, including, for example, take Nancy
Mace 26.com. It initially resembles a serious political website with a close-up of the South Carolina
Republican Congresswoman's face on one side and on the other in steel blue font, Nancy Mace for
governor, but scroll down slightly to a section titled Words of Wisdom and the satire becomes
apparent. I'm not here to serve. I'm here to brand. If that means mocking trans kids, defaming
exes, inflating reimbursements or screaming groomer on the House floor for likes, so be it. He also has
MTG26.org for, of course, Marjorie Taylor Green.
But now let's look at the website.
This is what the website looks like right now.
This is the Kennedy Center website, the official one that is associated with the center.
It's still www. kennedy-center.org.
But if you look at the top left, you might notice something a little bit different about
the website.
It says the Trump Kennedy Center.
That's the only change that is visible to include Donald Trump's name because they can't
by this domain. This is Trump Kennedy Center.org, which is owned by the comedian, and it looks
pretty normal at first glance. As the article said, it's like, you know, you might look at this and
think, oh, this is a serious website connected to the Trump Kennedy Center, a national institution
devoted to power and loyalty. But once you scroll down a little bit, it becomes apparent because
one of their next events is ringing in the new year with a performance by the Epstein
dancers. Oh my God, the Epstein dancers.
are going to perform at the Trump Kennedy Center.
They also write, quote, we welcome you to Trump Kennedy Center.org, a national cultural center
dedicated to legacy, loyalty, and the careful presentation of history.
Here, tradition is preserved, narratives are curated, and performances are elevated beyond mere art.
What is remembered matters.
What is omitted matters more.
We invite you to experience culture as authority, pageantry, as truth, and excellence as defined
by those in power. And then you scroll down a little bit more, and here's where it gets really
obvious. Trump-KennieCenter.org. It looks like these walls of the center look like people in prison.
And it says, A, redacted, redacted, redacted, J. Trump, redacted 13-year-old girl.
So you, of course, mocking what Donald Trump is doing with the Epstein files. And here's more writing.
And again, it just looks like an official website. It also says the website is parody at the bottom.
sure MAGA didn't scroll far enough to see that.
But it looks like a normal website, but it's been taken over by this South Park writer.
And I love it.
I love when Donald Trump gets trolled like this.
And I really do think that he'll probably file like a frivolous lawsuit to say,
oh, we own the rights to this and whatever.
He'll probably do that.
But we shall see.
I will keep you updated.
But man, brutal.
The Trump Kennedy Center.org.
Redacted, redacted, redacted Trump, 13-year-old girl.
I love it.
So look, folks, I will continue to cover stories like this.
I love laughing at Donald Trump.
