All right, folks, check this out. Donald Trump just did an exclusive interview with NBC News over the phone for around 30 minutes on the war in Iran, providing some updates about what's going on, where things are.
And it's abundantly clear from this interview that, one, he has absolutely no idea what he's doing and no idea about what's going on in the world around him.
And also, number two, he has no interest in ending this war anytime soon.
Apparently, there's a deal on the table and he's not interested in taking it.
Iran allegedly, according to him, so take it with a grain of salt, wants to negotiate, but Donald
Trump is the one holding it up.
So when he says he's the peace president, he wants to end things, he obviously doesn't.
So we're going to get into this article, talk about it a little bit.

It goes an incredibly long way.
Without further ado, let's get into it.
I want to start very briefly with just this little tidbit of information from a Wall Street Journal,
which shows you the incompetence of Donald Trump and his administration broadly.
So they write in a new article about the war.
Typically, war preparations include weeks or months of classified deliberations, written planning documents,
the airing of dissenting views from diplomats and intelligence officials,
and national security council meetings with cabinet members to make the most informed decision.
That's what normally happens in the Oval Office in the White House when the United States is considering going to war or any strike in any part of the world.
That's what normally happens.
And I stress normally because we're not living in a normal time.
Under Donald Trump, however, only a small group was looped into the preparations for Iran, including J.D. Vance, Markerubio, and Pete Hegseth.
A Fox News host was one of three people really looped into this conversation.
that narrowed the advice, information, and ideas available to the president who had to balance
the many downsides of an attack. So when we're wondering why everything has gone so poorly, why it was
planned so badly, this might give us some crucial context on why we are where we are at this
moment in time. But now let's get into this article from NBC News' interview. So starting off,
Trump says he's not ready to make a deal with Iran. On the phone call, Trump said he was unwilling
to make a deal to end the war with Iran at this.
stage. So there's no interest in ending the war right now. He said, quote, Iran wants to make a deal,
and I don't want to make it because the terms aren't good enough yet. He said, adding that any terms
will have to be, quote, very solid. But here's a thing. When he was asked what the terms of a
potential deal to end the war would be, the president responded by saying, I don't want to say that
to you, but he agreed that a commitment from Iran to completely abandon any nuclear ambition would
be part of it. By the way, we already had that deal. When Obama negotiated,
the Iran nuclear deal that prevented them from getting a nuclear weapon, and it allowed
independent international investigators to come in and check out their facilities to make sure
they weren't making nuclear weapons. We had a deal like that already. Donald Trump ripped it off.
But when he says, I don't want to say that to you regarding the possible terms of a deal,
that means he doesn't know. Just straight up, because Donald Trump loves to talk. He loves to hear himself
talk. And so if he can talk, he will. But there is no terms of a deal. He doesn't have terms
of a deal. He doesn't know what a deal should look like or what he wants a deal to look like.
He's just completely oblivious. Trump admin officials have sent mixed messages in the last two weeks
about what the U.S. military goals are in Iran and how long the conflict could last. With Trump at
time saying it could take a month or longer and at other times saying we are way ahead of the
timetable and there's practically nothing left to target. So Trump really can't make up his mind.
On Saturday, the president said that the only power they have and it's a power that can be
closed off relatively quickly is the power of dropping a mine or shooting a relatively short-range
missile. He added later, we've knocked out most of their missiles, we knocked out most of their
drones, we knocked out their manufacturing of missiles and drones largely. Within two days,
it'll be totally decimated. So again, just contradicting statements he really can't make up
his mind. Now it gets even worse. On securing the Strait of Hormuz, this massive trade passage
that countries all around the world use to trade a variety of goods, mainly oil, but things like
fertilizer, goods for manufacturing. It all goes through this straight. Now, it's been shut down by
Iran. Donald Trump didn't prepare for this, didn't plan for it, didn't think that they would,
and now we don't really have a plan. He said on Saturday, he's asking numerous countries that are
affected by the, quote, thuggery of Iran to help secure the strait of Hormuz, a key marine passageway
for oil tankers as oil prices globally have surged. Iran's leaders, meanwhile, have vowed to keep
the straight closed. The president said several countries have committed to helping secure
here the straight, but declined to name any of them. Why? See, this is what I mean. I really don't think
he knows what he's doing. I don't think he has any concept of what's going on. And I don't think
there are actual deals. So when he says, you know, Iran wants to make a deal and the terms
aren't good enough. Is there even a deal? I mean, are there any terms that he would accept at this
point? Are there any countries that are actually committing to helping Donald Trump, quote,
secure the straight as he says? We don't know because he's not naming any of these countries. And
none of the possible countries that have been floated in political conversation recently have
committed to any of this.
They're not willing to say, yes, we are doing this or no, we are not doing this.
And so it sounds like Donald Trump is just jumping the gun as he always does, but he added
that not only have they committed, but they think it's a great idea, according to Donald
Trump.
In a true social post on Saturday, though, Trump wrote, many countries, especially those who
are affected by Iran's attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending warships
in conjunction with the United States of America to keep the.
straight open and safe, adding hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others that are
affected by this will send ships to the area. So in the post he put out earlier today, he's saying
hopefully they will, but on the phone with NBC News, he's saying that many countries have already
committed to helping keep the straight open. So which one is it? Are you hopeful or have they
committed and they think it's a great idea? He just, he won't say. On the phone call, Trump said it's
not clear whether Iran has dropped minds into the straight. We're going to be sweeping the straight very
strongly, and we believe we'll be joined by other countries who are somewhat impeded and in some
cases impeded from getting the oil, says Donald Trump. Now, one of the other major things he said
is that he doesn't know whether the Iranian Supreme Leader is even alive, which is kind of
an interesting statement. He said, I don't even know if he's alive. So far, nobody's been able
to show him. This comes after the new Iranian Supreme Leader, the son of Khomeini now is in that
position, put out a statement on Thursday, but it was a written statement. It wasn't a video
recorded statement, so there's rumors that he might be injured or dead, and that's why Donald Trump
is saying, I don't know if he's alive. So far, nobody's been able to show him. I'm hearing he's not
alive, and if he is, he should do something very smart for his country, and that is surrender.
Trump added, but called the news of his death a rumor. Now, Pete Hegseth on Friday said the
younger Kamini was wounded and likely disfigured and called his written statement a weak one.
Trump, or Hegeseth added, Iran has plenty of cameras and plenty of voice recorders.
Why a written statement? I think you know why. His father dead. He's scared. He's injured.
He's on the run and lacks legitimacy, says Pete Hegset.
Trump has also surprised that Iran targeted other Middle Eastern countries. He said,
quote, I was very surprised, adding it was the biggest surprise I had of this whole thing.
Yet again, something that I feel like you should have anticipated.
I mean, if you're the president of the United States, I hope that you'd have some idea of what's
going to happen going into a war, what the retaliation might be. But apparently Donald Trump is
surprised by this. He's also surprised that the Strait of Hormuz was closed. So he's just surprised by
everything. And that's just incompetence on display. But this is the interview he just did with NBC News.
I really think it's concerning. It's worrying for me that not only does he not want to end the war,
but he also just sounds clueless on a lot of these things. Whenever you hear him talk about Iran,
and he uses the word, for example, excursion, which just not even applicable in this instance.
Yeah, I don't know if we're in good hands right.
Actually, let me correct myself, I know that we are not in good hands right now with this lunatic at the helm,
who is seeking advice from people like Pete Hegseth and not senior military officials.
So anyway, I just wanted to go over this interview with you.
