In the middle of the night last night, Donald Trump made a pretty terrifying statement that should concern people across the political spectrum.
And with this statement, it's clear that in the wake of Charlie Kirk's shooting, Donald Trump is not slowing down the attacks on liberal groups or people that simply disagree with them.
He's making them more aggressive and more egregious.
He is using dangerous tactics to go after people who simply dissent.
And it's really not just Donald Trump in his administration.
We're going to look at a clip later of Pam Bondi in a new podcast clip, basically saying that we don't really have free speech anymore.
And if you say something that they classify as hate speech, then they're going to come prosecute you.
Yes, that's coming from the Attorney General of the United States who appears to not understand the law.
But before we look at that clip of Pam Bondi, I do want to show you this alarming statement from Donald Trump that he put out in the middle of the night last night.
And when I read it, it's both entirely expected from Trump, but also surprising that the president of the United States is doing this.
At 1145 p.m., Donald Trump put out this statement saying, quote, today, I have the great honor of bringing a $15 billion defamation and libel lawsuit against the New York Times, one of the worst and most degenerate newspapers in the history of our country, becoming a virtual mouthpiece for the radical left Democrat Party.
This is the guy who before the 2024 election was running on bringing free speech back to the United States.
And now he sued virtually every left-leaning, left-leaning news outlet under the sun.
If you're a news outlet and you say something or report on something that is not favorable for Donald Trump,
it's likely that he's going to sue you for an absurd amount of money that doesn't even make sense and just claim defamation.
I view it, he says, as the single largest illegal campaign contribution ever.
Their endorsement of Kamala Harris was actually put dead center on the front page of the New York Times, something heretofore unheard of.
The Times has engaged in a decades-long method of lying about your favorite president, my family, business, the America First Movement, MAGA, and our nation as a whole.
I'm proud to hold this once respected rag responsible as we are doing with the fake news networks, such as our successful litigation against George Slopidopoulos, continuing the nicknames slash ABC, slash
Disney and 60 Minutes
slash CBS slash Paramount
who knew that they were falsely smearing me
through a highly sophisticated system of
document and visual alteration
which was in effect a malicious form
of defamation and thus settled for
record amounts. They practiced this
long-term intent in pattern of abuse which is
both unacceptable and illegal. The New York
Times has been allowed to freely
lie, smear and defame me for far
too long and that stops now.
The suit is being brought in the great state of
Florida. Thanks for your attention to this matter
make America great again. So the president of the United States is up in the middle of the night
plotting his next attack on our Constitution, on the First Amendment, and on the ability for
publications and article publishers like the New York Times to use their First Amendment
right. Their editorial board endorsing Kamala Harris is perfectly within their rights.
It is perfectly within their right. In their First Amendment right, by the way, the freedom
of press to endorse somebody if they'd like.
right? Donald Trump is not suing or bringing issue with the publications that endorsed him. He has no
problem with that. But the New York Times, their editorial board, not even the paper as a whole,
publishing a endorsement of Kamala Harris, that according to Donald Trump is illegal. This lawsuit is
frivolous. It's blatantly violating the Constitution. His claims are violating the Constitution. And we
actually have it already. He filed it in Florida, as he said, and we have some of the documents.
It's Donald Trump as the plaintiff versus the New York Times and a bunch of other editors, authors that are associated with the New York Times and even a publisher, Penguin Random House LLC. It just reads, you know, as standard lawsuits do, Donald Trump and through his counsel, yada yada. On November 5th, 2024, Trump won the election over Vice President Kamala Harris in historic fashion, emerging victorious in both the electoral college and popular vote. So, I mean, I read through a little bit of his lawsuit. It's like 85 pages, so I didn't get through the whole thing.
The entire opening of the lawsuit is just Trump praising himself.
It's like a screenshot of the electoral college saying how many votes he won.
With the overwhelming victory, Trump secured the greatest personal and political achievement.
I mean, this is just helping Donald Trump build up his ego.
It's not actually a valid lawsuit.
And let me just say something before we move any further and we watch this clip of Pam Bondi.
If the New York Times bends the knee and they capitulate and they give in to Donald Trump's very clearly frivolous lawsuit,
I'm an avid New York Times reader.
I read them every single day.
I will cancel my subscription.
We cannot have these major publications giving up their rights and thus hurting the American people
just to satisfy the president of the United States.
We need fighters.
We need publications and media that are willing to stand up.
That's what we do here on this channel.
And I'm hoping the New York Times will have the courage to do that.
I'm not holding my breath because all these other outlets have bent the knee to Trump
and given him billions of dollars, millions of dollars, whatever it might be.
because he asked for it.
And so the New York Times better not.
I'm really hoping they don't.
But this lawsuit is just in addition to Donald Trump's efforts to clamp down on free speech,
speech that he does not like.
It's especially happening after the Charlie Kirk shooting.
And it's only really getting worse with this administration.
Just the other day, Attorney General Pam Bondi appeared on a podcast and essentially said
that if you engage in hate speech, quote, we will absolutely target you, go after you,
if you are targeting anyone with hate speech.
Now, I guess Attorney General Pam Bondi didn't cover this part in law school,
but hate speech is protected by the First Amendment.
It can be abhorrent.
It can be disgusting.
It often is.
But it is entirely protected by the First Amendment.
But I guess she doesn't know that.
Take a look.
There's free speech and then there's hate speech.
And there is no place, especially now,
especially after what happened to Charlie in our society.
Do you see more law enforcement going after these?
groups who are using hate speech and putting cuffs on people. So we show them that some action
is better than no action. We will absolutely target you, go after you if you are targeting
anyone with hate speech, anything. And that's across the aisle. This is just blatantly
unconstitutional. This is against any free speech precedent that is currently the law of the
land in the United States. Can you imagine the outrage if Merrick Garland under President Biden,
sat on a podcast, a left-leaning podcast and said, yeah, you know, we're going to go after people
who engage in hate speech and we're going to target them, we're going to put them in cuffs.
Can you imagine that?
Can you imagine the stories on Fox News, the wall-to-wall coverage for a year straight?
Could you imagine it?
I mean, oh, my God.
But now since it's Pam Bondi, MAG is suddenly very quiet.
Suddenly they don't care about free speech.
Suddenly hate speech is now illegal according to them.
And by the way, the hate speech that Pam Bondi is talking about here is not just insulting
comments. It's just people who dissent. I mean, let's be honest about what the Trump administration
is doing here. That's what Trump just did in this lawsuit. The New York Times used their First Amendment
right. There's no hate speech here, and they're getting sued for $15 billion by the president
of the United States. And J.D. Vance even is setting the groundwork to do the same. I mean,
look what he said when he was hosting Charlie Kirk's show yesterday. I mean, he's laying the
groundwork to do just that. And while our side of the aisle certainly has its crazies, it is a statistical fact
that most of the lunatics in American politics today are proud members of the far left.
Except that's just not true. And Keith Edwards pointed it out that in all these different time
period, stretching back to the 1975s, 19705, I should say, all the way to 2025, you can see
that right-wing murders are substantially higher over this period than any left-wing murders.
Left-wing killers is substantially lower than right-wing killers as well.
in this entire time period.
And so J.D. Vance is getting up there and lying.
Pam Bondi is lying.
Trump is lying.
They are using this to attack people's free speech.
I mean, Pam Bondi pretty much just said it.
Donald Trump is also saying it in this lawsuit,
but it's becoming so clear by the day
that they are just looking for different opportunities,
different excuses to target free speech.
It appears that Charlie Kirk's shooting is their new excuse,
which is awful.
They are politicizing the death of somebody they know.
know to go after people. It's, it's so anti-American. It's so anti-constitution. It's just gross. And so
that's why I was so alarmed by this statement, because it's not just Trump. Trump is bad enough
in terms of clamping down on free speech. It's J.D. Vance. It's Pam Bondi. It's the entire
administration who are looking to do something like this. So look, I'll leave the video there.
I'm going to read all of your comments. I'm really excited to hear what you guys have to say about
this story. I'm wondering if you share my concern, if you,
don't and if you don't I'm curious to hear why but I'll leave it there make sure to
