All right, folks, in the middle of the night last night while we were all asleep, Donald Trump did something hoping that you would notice and see it, but we have it here, and it is insane. So in a deeply embarrassing and un-American court filing, the Trump regime is now arguing that CNN, MS Now, and Politico can be stripped of White House access in the name of national security. So not only is Donald Trump doubling down on his ban of these different news agencies, he's doing it in the middle of the night, hoping that it just kind of gets swept up in the news cycle,

but we're going to talk about it here. We have the documents, we have the details. I'm going to break it down for you. So, in the new filing, the Department of Justice argues that even reporting that is accurate but contains sensitive national security information can cause harm and says limiting reporters' physical access can reduce their ability to obtain such information. The DOJ uses Donald Trump's deranged truth social posts in the filing to make its argument. Yes, that's the argument they're making. That's the support for their argument, the citation they're using,

which is Donald Trump's truth social page. Sounds like they're probably not going to win here. The regime is asking the judge to reject the outlet's emergency bid to restore their White House access and is also arguing that longstanding precedent protecting press access was wrongly decided. So when Maga says Donald Trump isn't attacking the press, he's not trying to silence people.

He just doesn't like them because they report fake news. I direct them to exhibit. Donald Trump is trying to overturn court cases with this ban that gives the press access to the White House to report for the American people for transparency reasons. This is one of the biggest attacks on the First Amendment that we've seen in modern American history. In other words, the Trump regime is afraid of the American people learning the realities of the failed war in Iran and Trump's disastrous presidency. Matter of fact, the Trump administration, his DOJ, actually cites reporting on the Iran war in their filing saying that this is an example. example as to why we can't have journalists at the White House, which is insane. They want the Iran War to be completely covered up for you to know nothing about what's going on in this war,

and that is truly antithetical to what we do here in the United States and what our country is all about. Here's some more breakdown from Kyle Cheney saying the DOJ is justifying Donald Trump's ban on media orgs by citing stories about sensitive topics like depleted U.S. munitions in relation to the Iran War, the war in Iran generally, Trump's ballroom security features, and bad vibes at the GOP Midterm Convention. They actually wrote, in September 2026, Politico Playbook relied on unnamed sources to paint the Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas as a disaster. Media reporting showed that the convention had over 100 million live stream viewers,

which is not true. There were not 100 million people watching Donald Trump's disastrous convention, but they believe that reporting on the convention is somehow a threat to national security. This is so ridiculous. They are going to get laughed out of court. Trump is using the fight to try to overturn this 49-year-old precedent that requires equal access to the White House press area for journalists, a lawyer for the media orgs, Politico, CNN, and MS now called DOJ's argument exceptionally weak.

The hearing is at 3.30 p.m. today. One Politico story cited by the White House is about a one-page secret service handout to Senate Republicans describing security improvements associated with Trump's ballroom project. Yet, the filing describes it as an intricate and internal. document, yet they were handing out to Republican senators. And here's that document. They're saying that reporting on this document right here is a threat to national security. Well, here it is. There it is. You guys can see it on your screen. We have it in front of you. Apparently, me showing you this is a threat to national security, according to Donald Trump's DOJ. This is the part of the

filing where they cite those documents in particular, which is really just so absurd and so ridiculous. But let's keep moving on. The administration also appeared to hastily offer a chance for the news organizations to contest their revocations after the fact, calling the president's decision preliminary. It's a nod that the likelihood that courts will view the abrupt revocations as a due process violation. So they're already preparing for the judge to rule against them because their arguments are so weak. And these are some of the stories from each outlet that the administration said included sensitive information that justified the president's ban. So here are just some of the links. They're kind of all over the place. But you have the first one being inside plans to rebuild the

top secret bunker beneath the White House. or Trump's team's muddled messaging on munition shortfall. I mean, these are all articles that do not contain any classified information or any information that is incredibly sensitive, and yet they are citing it anyway. And what's really bad for Donald Trump is that CNN Politico MS now, the opposing lawyers, are actually using his own words against him. So yesterday at the UN, Donald Trump snapped at Caitlin Collins from CNN, who was reporting there, saying, I'm surprised that CNN is covering me, you shouldn't be here, you shouldn't be

here covering me, you said you weren't going to cover me, you shouldn't be covering me, you shouldn't be covering me. He said that many, many times, but ahead of tomorrow. I was court hearing in CNN slash MS Now's lawsuit against the Trump media ban attorneys for the media group submitted that quote as an exhibit to the judge. They are using Donald Trump's word against him. But here's some further breakdown from CNN. One of the eight media outlets that Donald Trump has banned on the case that Donald Trump filed last night the filing that he put in. So check this out.

And a day before Judge Kelly in D.C. is going to hold a pivotal emergency hearing on whether CNN, MSN, MS now, and Politico should have their White House press badges restored. But in this filing, the Justice Department is arguing that at Donald Trump's will, he should be able to kick whomever he would like out of the White House. And they also are arguing that part of it is because there's national security information kept in the White House complex, and the Justice Department and Donald Trump could deem these outlets, CNN, MS Now, and Politico, threats to national security, given the reporting they have done. Now, Laura, that's certainly not what the law is around the First Amendment and free speech, and even what the law is around reporters holding press badges at the White House. There is a key law, a legal precedent that the Justice Department is asking to have overturned.

in the court system. Judge Kelly's not going to be able to do that tomorrow, but it does spell out how they may want to challenge this to restrict the press even further. I want to read a short piece of this filing tonight, the argument from the Justice Department explaining what they want. They say at the very least, the government may control reporters access to restricted presidential areas such as the Oval Office, even for viewpoint-discipline. discriminatory reasons, meaning if the president doesn't like what those outlets are writing, he can kick them out for that reason alone. They also write in this filing. The president has found that plaintiffs have engaged in a number of reporting incidents that have threatened national security.

Such reporting directly raises national security concerns. We have not seen an attack on the press or the White House press corps at this level ever before. Yeah, this is completely unprecedented. And Donald Trump is essentially asking the judiciary to give him complete control over what's printed and what's not. I mean, he's saying that I can kick out people just because I don't like what they're reporting. That is, once again, antithetical to what the First Amendment is all about. The First Amendment protects speech, even speech you do not like Donald Trump. Read the Constitution.

It's the first one. You don't have to get too far into it. I know reading is difficult for Donald Trump. It's the first one. It's right there. Just open the book. I mean, this is insane. It is so authoritarian.

And yet Donald Trump is, of course, doubling down on it. Last night on social media, well, you know, shortly after he filed this in court. At 1203 in the morning, he was posting TikToks made by other people saying, day in the life of a CNN reporter. And essentially, it's just a video of this guy making a joke. There's music in the background. Making a joke that it's all, you know, fake news and that he's going to put on a fake news. news dress and stuff like that. This is what Donald Trump was posting in the middle of the night shortly after posting, putting this filing into the courts. It's really, really insane. He also

posted this at 1153 at around the time he submitted his court filing saying all of the sleaze bags like third rate reporter Caitlin Collins of fake news CNN, a truly unhappy person, said they weren't going to be covering me. Then why were they ranting and raving like lunatics in the press area at the UN? Why was she there? She's got a Trump addiction and so does CNN and MSDNC. They're all sick, treasonous. He says they're treasonous and demented. The good news is that they have a great for them and totally disloyal judge. So he seems to be preparing for the possibility as well that the judge, who he appointed, by the way, is going to rule against him.

So I guess he's against his own judges now. I mean, he appointed these people. You think that he'd be defending them. But, you know, he says that they're disloyal and whatnot and all that crap. But the good news is we do have people speaking up against this. not only are these media companies filing their own suit against Donald Trump. They filed it. That's why this filing is taking place in the first place.

But Kamala Harris also, the former vice president of the United States, who was campaigning with Abdul Al-Said in Michigan yesterday, saying this when asked about Donald Trump's ban on the media. My president's thoughts on the media ban? Thank you, guys. Thank you. It's a warrant that media ban. Absolutely a foreign.

And the man is afraid of the voice of the people and that the people understand and know what he's doing so he's trying to stifle the ability of. the ability of journalists to let the people of America know what's really going on with their government. Well said by Vice President Harris, the man is afraid of the voice of the people. And even Melania Trump is breaking with Donald Trump. Even his own wife. Wife, are they still together? His own wife doesn't agree with it.

She is broken with him. Donald Trump implemented that ban. But First Lady Melania Trump, however, is taking a different approach on press freedom. The office of the first lady formerly approved CNN's and Politico's. press credentials for a Tuesday event on the sidelines of the UN about expanding her fostering the future together coalition, an effort aimed at promoting children's well-being with education and technology. So Melania Trump is even approving CNN and Politico's press credentials.

But I thought they were national security threats. You know, I thought that's what it was. So look, this is insane. This filing was done in the middle of the night, hoping that you wouldn't notice.
