Harry Sisson breaks down the aftermath of Lindsey Graham's death and how Trump is freaking out over it.

So there's a lot of chaos going on right now. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has died. It was incredibly unexpected, incredibly out of the blue. I was awake at around two or three in the morning when it happened. And everybody was just kind of shocked. It seemed like a lot of people were awake and talking about it online. We talked about it on the show. But with this unexpected death, it seems like Donald Trump is in a little bit of a panic mode right now.

He seems to have been relying on Lindsay Graham for a lot of his big plans, his big initiatives, such as the Save America Act, which, already was in peril, already didn't have a great chance of passing. Now that Lindsey Graham has gone, one of the staunchest advocates for this policy, it seems like it's even worse for Donald Trump, and he's making that known publicly. So I want to walk through everything that has happened in the past 24 hours, how bad this is for Donald Trump. But I do want to start with the very weird statement he put out about Lindsay Graham's death

at 321 in the morning. I guess he was awake too. He said, Senator Lindsay Graham, one of the greatest people and senators I have ever known, is dead. He was always working and was a true American patriot. Lindsay will be greatly missed, details and arrangements to follow. So sad, signed Donald J. Trump. Look, if I were talking about a friend's passing, a loved one's passing, I wouldn't say X, Y, and Z is dead.

That's just very abrasive, you know what I mean? It seems like very impersonal from Donald Trump that this is the way that he announced Lindsey Graham's death. You know what I mean? But then later, he said at 1253 today, in honor of the remarkable life and achievements of Lindsay Graham, a dear friend of mine and truly great men who achieved so much for our country and his beloved home of South Carolina. J. Trump. So he is doing that for Lindsay Graham as well. But Donald Trump did go on some of the Sunday shows today. He went on Meet the Press, for example, and even announced himself that Lindsay Graham's passing has ruined a lot for him, such as the Save America Act. That's why he's, you know, that's where I heard. Think of it. He's traveling for many, many hours. That's a long flight. That's a long trip. And he, you know, calls me about the Save America Act. He thought we're going to get it past. Do you remember the very, This is a big blow to the Save America Act, let me tell you. Do you remember, Mr. President, what was the last thing you said to him?

What was the last thing he said to you? I said, we'll see you soon. Come over anytime you want. He came into the White House a lot because I liked him. He can't do that with everybody. But he'd come in. Wow. Even Donald Trump announcing that the Save America Act makes it much more difficult.

He says this is a big blow to the Save America Act, which, course, this bill passing Congress would be devastating for the United States. So it not passing is a good thing for the entire country, but Donald Trump seemingly acknowledging that this is really bad news for him and the Republicans. I mean, the makeup of the Senate right now is 52 to 47. So previously with Graham alive, it was 53, 47. Now it's down to 52. McConnell is still in the hospital, which we will talk about in just a moment. A photo has been released of Mitch McConnell, but a big blow for Donald Trump. And also during this call, he, said that Lindsey Graham and him were talking about Russia, Ukraine, the Save America Act, and more,

and then just hours later, he was dead. It was already bad in the Senate. So the Save America Act, a far-reaching Republican election overhaul that Trump said should be his congressional allies' top priority has officially failed in the Senate. And this was back in June, the beginning of June, it's failed a number of times. The measure was voted on Thursday as an amendment as part of a lengthy debate over an immigration funding package. The election bill has languished in the Senate for months after the House passed.

version in February on a near party line vote. The election proposal would have taken effect immediately, even as voting is underway in congressional primary. So it's already failing, and now Lindsey Graham is dead, and the numbers of supporters in the Senate has disappeared. And also, of course, just broadly, his death leaves the Senate agenda for Trump and the Republicans in limbo. It's poised to upend the Senate where the GOP majority was already tight, and the four-term South Carolina Republican loomed large in several immediate policies. he fights ahead of the midterms. Graham, who died of a brief and sudden illness, chaired the Budget Committee, which has been facing pressure from Trump to advance a new party line spending package,

including a major boost in defense funding. He was also a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, which has been working to land a deal to avert a government shutdown at the end of September. Graham was a member of the Judiciary Committee, which is set this week to hold confirmation hearings for Attorney General Todd Blanche, the acting attorney general, to be the full-time Attorney General. So now on top of the many different policy priorities, the different committees he sits on in Congress, what happens with Todd Blanche?

You know, Lindsey Graham, staunch ally, was able to, you know, rally people to support Donald Trump's nominees. What happens now? I imagine that Donald Trump and the Republicans are thinking about this as well. This is top of mind. And it's not good that Trump has made a lot of

enemies in the Senate. I mean, I have three Republican senators right now who are not fully aligned with Donald Trump. That brings the number down to 49 if the three of them don't vote with the Republicans. For example, Senator Tom Tillis recently in a CNN interview said, stop undermining the confidence in the elections regarding Trump's Attorney General, the Save America Act, and more. Just take a quick listen to what Senator Tillis had to say. The New York Times is reporting that acting director of national intelligence, Bill Pulte, who has no qualifications for that. job, as you know, has installed a Republican political operative, Christina Norton, as his chief of staff at the spy agency. Norton's work in the past focused on election issues for the Republican

Party. And there's this broader context that you know about. There are a lot of concerns about what the president and his team might be planning for the elections, whether it's Pulte and Norton or, as we read in regime change, Nicholas Maduro offering to back up Trump's lie about Venezuela altering the election. We have election denizens. Kurt Olson, given a position in the administration, ordering the seizure of Atlanta voting machines, Tulsi Gabbard, or, you know, seizing voting machines from Puerto Rico. How do you see all this fitting together? I am concerned that we're going to continue to cast doubt on elections in November and erode what has been a 250-year tradition of a peaceful transition of power. You know, I have

people telling me I need to implement the SAVE Act immediately in North Carolina in a state that has voter ID. It was passed when I was Speaker. We've enhanced it even since then. And the president's won three times. Why do I over the next four months have to try to pursue the impossible task of implementing a bill that simply can't be implemented in that time frame? Why are we doing more things to undermine our confidence in elections rather than getting the strong message out that will win for Republicans this year? Talk about the emergence and the rise of the Democrat Socialists of America, except that the voting laws are going to be fundamentally what they are today. And then he starts to rant about Democrats. But, you know, this is a Republican senator who

Donald Trump might be relying on for his vote. And Trump has attacked him recently. He's not the only one. You have Senator Bill Cassidy, who personally blamed Donald Trump for the rise in health care costs in our country. Mr. President Trump, get engaged. Mr. President, too many people have this debt $10,000 on their credit card. card related to paying in part for things such as medical expenses and they are going down. Blaming Donald Trump directly. Here's Senator Lisa Mikowski asked about the SAVE Act directly, and this is what she said. Where do you stand on the Save America Act? Do you, you know, support getting this legislation passed to protect elections? I'm not as it is. Why not?

the implementation in a rural state like Alaska is going to disenfranchise an extraordinary majority. And while I support citizenship voting and voting ID, I want to make sure that it's implementable. Hmm. Yeah. Not good news for Donald Trump. And he's not even nice to them. You know, he doesn't even try to make amends with some of these Republican centers saying, I don't like a few people. That's okay. I think you know who they are. Actually, those three being, you know, you know, the Republican senators, we just went over. And even more so, on top of Senator Lindsey Graham's death and how that affects Donald Trump as well, Mitch McConnell, the missing senator for many weeks now, around a month, I think it's been with Mitch McConnell, has just put out a photo and a statement. So he is alive. There's been a lot of speculation about if Mitch McConnell is even alive. But this is a photo that his office just released of him and his wife in the hospital.

In this statement, he said, you know, he talked about how he was been elected and that he's been a good patient. He didn't break any bones or suffer a concussion, no tumors or hemorrhages, but was briefly unconscious, and that's what caused him to go to the hospital. He took a fall, and he said that while receiving this excellent care over the past several weeks, I've also had to deal with pneumonia, which has been hurting him as well. He said that, you know, as much as it frustrates me, this process won't take, excuse me, the process will take time. And the advice of my doctors, I won't be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet. So there's no timeline in when he might be back, but McConnell is alive, but you know, in these crucial months between now and the midterms where Republicans might try to ram something through, having only 51 Republican senators voting with three of them not liking Donald Trump and more not being fans of, you know, the Save America Act and Todd Blanche, things might get even more rough for Donald Trump in the coming months.
