Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, folks, that was pretty awkward. I'm not going to lie. They're calling it the most unwanted phone call in American history. Last night, as the Artemis II crew was approaching the moon getting into its orbit, Donald Trump thought it was a good idea to call up to them and essentially give them a campaign speech while they're near the moon. Now, this is a mission that every American should be proud of. You have the first Canadian on board. Victor Glover on the right is the first black astronaut to be part of a mission like this. Christina in the middle is the first woman to be part of a mission like this. There are a lot of first taking place here, and it's really, really impressive. These are some of the best of the best in NASA, in the astronaut business.
Starting point is 00:00:41 And of course, instead of leaving the politics out of it, making it a uniting moment for Americans, Donald Trump finds a way to make it about himself. It's me, me, me, me with Donald Trump at all times, regardless of what's going on. So I want to show you some clips from his phone call. It's all just very strange. Before we get into it, please make sure to subscribe down below. It helps grow the show, grow the channel so we can push back on Donald Trump and MAGA, drop a like as well, comment.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Let me know what you think about these clips. I'm excited to read your comments on this one in particular. And let's just start here with Donald Trump's little campaign speech that he's giving to the astronauts, and they really don't know what to do with this information. They're just kind of staying straight-faced and quiet as he rambles incoherently. Watch. That is fantastic. You know, I had a decision to make in my first term,
Starting point is 00:01:24 And the decision is, what are we going to do at NASA? Are we going to have it be revived or are we going to close it down? And I had very little hesitation. And it's really great to have somebody like Jared involved because he really makes it much easier for me. But it was not even a question in my own mind. We've spent what we had to do. And then, of course, we have Space Force. And Space Force is very much related to what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:01:52 And that was my baby. That was a very important one. And it's turning out, it'll turn out to be truly one of the most important, I believe, decisions I've ever made. So we're very proud of Space Force. So we're very proud of it. Like, what is he doing? Like, it is so ridiculous how this guy behaves.
Starting point is 00:02:11 And they are more entertained by the spinning microphone. I would be, too. There's no gravity up there. It's spinning. It's floating in midair. And it's spinning as Donald Trump is ranting incoherently. But, like, what are you, what is he doing? What is going through his mind when he thinks that something like this is appropriate?
Starting point is 00:02:27 These are astronauts. They have a lot of things on their plate right now. They are around the moon. They are around the moon thousands of miles away from Earth, many, many more than that. And Donald Trump is talking about Space Force, and he's trying to claim credit for funding NASA when he's done everything in his power to defund scientific agencies like NASA. He's a chronic liar who is taking a beautiful moment like this and quashing it. And it doesn't take away from the impressive nature of this feat and these astronauts and what they're doing up there.
Starting point is 00:02:57 But really, making about yourself is just the most Donald Trump thing ever. And matter of fact, his campaign speech continued. He added to them, we're the hottest country anywhere in the world. It's a short clip. Watch. And at long last, America is back. And America's back in many ways stronger than ever before with the hottest country anywhere in the world. The Artemis crew flew in the most powerful rocket gas as ever.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Like, how inappropriate is this? And you can see, they're all just smiling, trying to keep his straight face because, you know, if they offend Donald Trump, maybe he turns the rocket around or something like that. You know, they just don't know what to do. And I wouldn't know what to do either in their position. You have this 80-year-old, incoherent lunatic who's at war with Iran rambling to you about how the United States is the hottest country in the world. No, we're not. We're not hotter than ever. I mean, we are on the downslope with Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:03:47 These poor astronauts who had to be subjected to this while they're just trying to complete the mission. It's crazy. Here's another clip where Trump continues, and he's speaking to the Artemis II crew and refuses to mention Canada, but repeatedly refers to the country as neighbor. Just won't say the country, Canada. And America is a frontier nation and the four brave astronauts of Artemis II are a modern day. You really are modern day pioneers, all of you. And one of them happens to be a neighbor.
Starting point is 00:04:14 You know who that is, right? You have a special person over there, a neighbor. And we like our neighbor. your mission paves away for... You can't say Canada? That's Jeremy Hanson, by the way, the Canadian. First Canadian to be part of a mission like this. You can't say, Jeremy, you can't say Canada?
Starting point is 00:04:34 I mean, what... It's just so disrespectful on so many different levels that this is the way the president of the United States conducts himself. Then he also tells them that they're going to Mars, apparently. Watch. People haven't been there in a long time, we can say, but it's going to be more and more prevalent
Starting point is 00:04:50 because we're going to be doing a lot of traveling, and then you're going to ultimately do the whole big trip to Mars, and that's going to be very exciting. So you look at, we had no astronaut, has been to the moon since the days of Apollo program. The Apollo program was also very special, but that was... Oh, my God. Do you think Donald Trump has any clue what he's talking about
Starting point is 00:05:12 when it comes to going to Mars or interplanetary travel or anything like that? Of course he doesn't. I mean, he's what? I guess he's assigning them to the Mars mission now. Now he's getting involved in NASA. Maybe he'll call it the, you know, a space agency for Trump. I don't know. He'll add his name on there somewhere.
Starting point is 00:05:29 It's just so ridiculous. And now the final clip I want to show you is, this is an awkward scene aboard Artemis II as Trump stops ranting, and none of the astronauts have anything left to say to him, leading to extended dead air. Because what do you say to Donald Trump when he goes on one of these rants? What do you add in? He just sucks the air out of everything.
Starting point is 00:05:48 He sucks the air out of every round. room, knocked my glasses there, I apologize. Just watch this. So proud to be a part of this program. Well, I have to say I spoke to a very special person, Wayne Gretzky, who I think you know, the great one, and I spoke to your prime minister and many other friends I have in Canada, they are so proud of you, and you have a lot of courage. I'm not sure if they'd want to do that. I'm not even sure if the great one would want to do that, to be honest with you, but you have a lot of courage doing what you're doing, a lot of bravery and a lot of, a lot of genius, but they're very, very proud of you.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Oh my God. Oh, my gosh. How is it still going on? Administrator, I just get a quick comm check, make sure you guys are still on the line and we didn't have a handover. I am. Yes, I am. And, uh, you, uh, you, uh, what?
Starting point is 00:07:39 Oh my God. How did it go on for that long? I was, I'm sorry. I was cringing during the middle of the middle of. it. It went on way too long. It was uncomfortably, uncomfortably long, that silence. Like, why does he ruin everything? Everything Donald Trump touches goes to crap. You have this amazing, amazing mission. And Donald Trump, again, finds a way to make it about himself and just create awkward moments. I don't know, man. It was the most unwanted phone call in American history.
Starting point is 00:08:08 That's what I'm labeling it as. That's what we got to go with. So comment that down below. the most unwanted call in American history. Thank you so much for watching. I will leave it there. I won't make you suffer anymore through any of these clips. They're really bad. But thank you for being here.
