Harry Sisson breaks down Donald Trump's disastrous speech last night at Mount Rushmore for America's 250th birthday.

Well, folks, Donald Trump gave his big speech at Mount Rushmore last night to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. And surprise, surprise, the speech was not focused on America at all. There was no uniting message, no, we can be great kind of theme. It was just Donald Trump airing out his personal grievances talking about communism. He did that a lot in the speech. It sounds like that's going to be his midterm message, which I don't think is going to work. But nonetheless, that's what he really focused on. So I have just a couple of clips to show you from the speech.

and that's all you need to see. It'll sum it up just nicely. But before we get into that, before we watch the clips of Donald Trump, I want to point out that, you know, he was on social media bragging about this event. He said, heading to beautiful Mount Rushmore to speak, this was right before his speech. And then later, after that, he posted a photo of his new Qatari jet flying over Mount Rushmore. He really liked the action shot. So he made sure to upload it online.

And then after the speech, which was meant to be a uniting moment, then he decides to attack Democratic senators. So, for example, he compares Senator John Ossoff to Pee Wee Herman. And then after that, he also compared Democratic Senate candidate James Tilarico to Alfred Newman. And so that's what Trump was focused on on the eve of America's 250th anniversary. But, you know, what else would Trump be focused on, right? It's not like he actually cares about the country or anything.

But let's get into the, you know, before the speech, the stuff that happened before that really raised some eyebrows. So let's start here ahead of his political rally and speech yesterday night in front of Mount Rushmore. The White House has said that Trump could be an addition to the monument. Yes, because Trump needs to feel good about himself. Remember, this is an incredibly egotistical, narcissistic man. And if he's not getting his daily rush of, oh, people love me, well, then, you know, he's going to have some problems. Then he starts to lash out.

They said that he could be an addition to the monument, which contains the faces, of course, America's most important leaders such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Roosevelt, Lincoln, quote, there would be no better addition to the iconic Mount Rushmore than the 45th and 47th president of the United States, Donald Trump, said a White House spokesperson. We're just paying taxpayer dollars to these White House employees to put out these BS statements daily that just hype up Donald Trump. It drives me nuts that our taxpayer dollars are going to pay these people's salaries and pay Donald Trump's goons and stuff like that. But, you know, this is what they're spending their time doing, sending out press releases that Trump could be added to the amount. Rushmore. That's a big focus for Donald Trump. He's really focused on that in recent years, posting AI images of his face being added to the monument. But nonetheless, before the speech, it seems like Mother Nature spoke. And look, I'm not a religious person whatsoever, but it seems like there might be a god. Because the weather keeps messing with Donald Trump, whether it be the state fair where there's extreme heat and it's been forced to shut down, or Mount Rushmore having there be hail and rain just before

Donald Trump's speech, it seems like Mother Nature is speaking if she's out there and having something to say. So take a look at this clip of Fox News, breaking the news, that there is some bad weather and they're asking people to go indoors right before Donald Trump's speech last night. Well, I'll get some breaking news here. They just said that there's severe weather on the way. In fact, they said hail could be coming and they're urging everybody to get inside. It says nothing captures the state of America, quite like Mount Rushmore, appearing to cry as hail falls ahead of Donald Trump's speech. I mean, wow, it really does look like, you know, some of these faces are crying here, especially George Washington right there, really looks like he's crying. just before Donald Trump's speech and well put by Noah with this tweet that I really agreed with. And on the topic of weather and on the topic of Trump-related events, same thing happening at his state fair. I mean, yesterday it had to close due to heat.

Everyone must exit until 5 p.m. the event said when it would inevitably restart. But there were a number of people who passed out due to the heat. It got so bad that they actually had to be taken to the hospital, a number of people. And for tomorrow, or I should say today, July 4th, America's 250. I'm filming this video late at night. But America's 250, they're also delaying the start of the state fair. They're now opening at 12 instead of 10. They put out a statement saying this with warm temperatures expected.

Guests are encouraged to stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, apply sunscreen, the good stuff. They also will have water, cooling tents, air-conditioned cooling buses and, you know, the stuff that they should be having, but according to organizers so far they have not had. But I really don't understand this decision from Freedom 250, given the fact that at 10-8, it's going to be 10 a it's going to be 92 degrees excuse me and then when it comes around to opening time around 12 it's going to be 99 degrees it's only going to get hotter so i'm not exactly sure why they're delaying the opening of the state fair just for it to get hotter but i digress everything seems to be going wrong for donald trump and then eventually he got on stage to give his speech

and man oh man was it bad as i mentioned he really focused on communism there was no uniting message for Donald Trump. Let's start with this clip here where he said, you can be a communist or you can be a patriot. You cannot be both. As for those who peddle communist lies about our heritage, tell our children that we live on stolen land and that our heroes were oppressors, they're doing something much worse than slandering our past. They're slandering and attacking our future. Not going to let that happen. All of this is very ironic coming from Donald Trump, a man who tried to overturn elections he didn't like, has tried to declare himself an authoritarian and more. You can be loyal to Karl Marx or you can be loyal to America, you can be a communist or you can be a patriot, you cannot be both.

As for those who peddle Marxist lies about our heritage, tell our children that we live on stolen land or that our heroes were oppressors, they're doing something much worse than slandering our past. They are slandering and attacking our future. I'm not going to let that happen. They're trying to tear down the great American character to destroy the people who declared independence, who crossed the Delaware, who settled the West and conquered the skies. You know who those people are. But we will never let that happen. Our American ancestors did not shed their blood at Concord and Trenton, Gettysburg, and Shiloh, Midway and Normandy, just so that a band of thieves, radicals, and lunatics could come in and loot pillage our nation.

Our heroes died to win, build, and to save, and to build truly a great country, the greatest country ever in the world. He's really relying on the teleprompter in this speech, which I thought was interesting. Maybe the White House is finally realizing that Trump doesn't have it anymore. Did he ever have it? You know, that's for you to decide. But certainly is cognitively declining. And so when he goes off script and goes on one of his little weaves, as he likes to call it,

it never really ends well. He says something pretty stupid and it gets a lot of. of news. But you can tell the theme already of Donald Trump's speech. It's attacking the Democrats and labeling people who disagree with Trump as communists. And of course, he's over-exaggerating what Democrats are and who we are and what we believe. But that's the goal of this speech. And it seems like, as I said as well, this might be the midterm messaging for the Republicans. And look, if they want to run on all Democrats are communists, they want to ruin America, all that stuff, the same thing that they've been saying for like what, the past 30, 40,

50 years about Democrats, then I encourage them to do so. Really, I have no problem with it. Because we know that we're not communists. I'm a Joe Biden Democrat. I'm a liberal. We know that. And we're running on a policy platform of we want to give people housing. We want to make sure people have health care. We want to make sure Americans are educated. We want to make sure they can afford things. They can put a roof over their head, food on their table, and feed their family. If Republicans want to label that communist, then I think it's going to backfire pretty badly for them in the midterms. Here's another clip where Trump is vowing to send a communism into So on the eve of this 250th anniversary of American Heritage, we resolve and swear for all to hear

that the citizens of the United States of America will vanquish communism quickly. Don't let them take too much of your time. You know, they're wasting your time, don't you? But we're not going to let them take too long or too much of our time as they play their games and send them into exile. We will send them quickly away and we will continue to build our country bigger and better and stronger than ever before. America will never be a communist country. So I just want to be clear about something because Donald Trump is not talking about communists here, people who are actually communists and believe in communism because as you'll notice,

there's no self-proclaimed communists in government anywhere in the United States, any major elected official in the Democratic Party or anywhere just doesn't declare themselves as a communist. But what he means by communism and communists is Democrats. So when he's saying we're going to vanquish communism, we're going to get them out, we're going to eradicate them, he's talking about Democrats. I mean, he's using those terms interchangeably, and he's done that his entire political career. So this is actually quite a scary statement coming from the president of the United States, given that we know what he actually means by it and what he'll do to achieve it.

And that's something that I think we really have to be aware of going into the midterm elections, which are really not far away. And speaking of the midterm elections, Donald Trump also just kind of gave the playbook away last night, talking about how Republicans can cheat and win elections by cheating for many years to come. We can only lose the midterms if we allow ourselves to lose the midterms, if we are foolish, stupid, and unwise. But if we terminate the filibuster, as we should do,

and immediately vote for the Save America Act, then we will not lose an election for 100 years. We do that. We're not going to lose an election for 100 years. Pass the Save Act, he says, we won't lose for 100 years, he says. Trump is given away the game. He knows that the Save Act, which would heavily restrict methods of voting for people who primarily lean left to the Democrats will give Republicans the advantage.

It's not about winning the hearts and minds of the American people fairly, saying, here are my ideas, you decide whether they're better than their ideas. It's not about that. It's about how can we tip the scales in a way that gives us the advantage before anybody even casts a vote? How can we make it impossible for the other side to vote and get their people out? How can we make it easiest for our people to get out there and vote? That's what Donald Trump is saying here. And again, something that we have to be aware of going into the midterms.

Thankfully, right now, the SAVE Act is dead. It has no real chance of passing as it stands right now, but never underestimate the spinelessness of many Republicans in Congress, the cowardice of these Republicans to bend the knee at will. to Donald Trump. I'm thinking about the young men who were around my age when they stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, giving up their lives to fight against a global evil where who knows where we'd be if they didn't make that sacrifice. I'm thinking of the single mothers out there who are struggling to make their payments because of this administration. I'm thinking of the firefighters, the police officers, the public servants who keep us safe on a daily basis. I'm thinking about the good of America, not the bad, the ugly, and the gross that is Donald Trump and the people around him.
