Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, folks, we are now just getting the details of this Iran agreement that Donald Trump apparently struck, and it appears that Iran completely outsmarted Donald Trump in every single way, which is not exactly surprising because he's not the smartest guy in the room, certainly not the brightest at any given moment, and he was also desperate for an off-ramp in this war. His approval numbers were going down. His numbers across the board were going down. He was being condemned by Democrats and Republicans. It was a bad situation for Donald Trump, and it seems.
Starting point is 00:00:30 like he just kind of grabbed at whatever he could get from Iran resulting in a bad deal that makes the United States weaker now than we were before the war, which I think has everyone asking, then what the hell was the point of the war? Why did we do it in the first place if we're weaker now? So I want to show you some of the details of this deal that are coming out. We'll talk about it. We'll hear from a senator and more all in this video. And it really starts with Donald Trump's statement that he announced earlier on social media about the ceasefire. He said that he had conversations with leaders in the region, and he agreed to a two-week ceasefire as long as Iran agreed to the complete, immediate, and safe opening of the Strait of Formuz
Starting point is 00:01:10 and the United States would suspend the bombing. He called it a double ceasefire and added that we've achieved all of our military objectives. But here's the point of this statement that Republicans are really glossing over and they don't really want to talk about. He said, we received a 10-point proposal from Iran and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. So to be clear, the United States sent our own proposal to Iran. It was rejected. The Iranian people, the Iranian government, sent this proposal, this 10-point proposal to the United States. It was initially rejected. And now Donald Trump is going back to it and agreeing with it
Starting point is 00:01:44 and saying that this is the basis on which we are going to negotiate with them. That's fascinating. And that would also be a major strategic failure for the United States because this is Iran's 10-point plan, and he is giving a lot up to Iran if this is the case. Number one, guarantee that Iran will not be attacked again. Number two, a permanent end to the war, not just a ceasefire. Three, end to Israeli strikes in Lebanon, lifting of all U.S. sanctions on Iran, that's a major one. And to all regional fighting against Iranian allies, Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz,
Starting point is 00:02:17 but they would also impose a $2 million fee per ship transiting the Hormuz Strait. Iran would split the fees with Oman. Iran would also establish rules for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran would use the Hormuz fees for reconstruction instead of reparation. So that is a lot to give Iran. And this is what we're negotiating off of, according to Donald Trump himself. That's not some report according to an anonymous source or anything like that. Trump literally said in the statement that the 10-point plan is what we're negotiating off of.
Starting point is 00:02:50 and the Iran Supreme National Security Council is claiming, which doesn't necessarily mean it's true, but is claiming that the U.S. agreed to this 10-point plan, including but not limited to, the secession of all sanctions since the Bush era and the Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz. So we are giving Iran complete and total control over the Strait of Hormuz, which to me is not exactly a great deal for the United States, because what's stopping Iran from putting us in a similar situation where they shut down the ship, shipping, gas prices go up, the economy sucks for the American people, and we can't really do anything about it. Iran's Supreme National Security Council is also calling this a crushing defeat for the United States of America. They are celebrating this deal. They think it's very good for them. They wrote in this statement, quote, the enemy, and it's unfair, illegal, and criminal war against
Starting point is 00:03:40 the Iranian nation has suffered an undeniable historic and crushing defeat. And then they thank all the people involved in the effort, the Ayatollah who died, the new Ayatollah, the army, and whatnot. They say the heroic presence of your dear people on the scene from the very first days of the war, Iran has achieved a great victory and forced the criminal America to accept its 10-point plan. In this plan, America fundamentally commits to guaranteeing non-aggression, continuing Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz, accepting enrichment, which is a big one, meaning that Iran gets to continue to enrich uranium, putting them closer to a nuclear weapon, which is the opposite of what Donald Trump was wanting to do with this, lifting all primary and secondary
Starting point is 00:04:23 sanctions, ending all security council and board of governor resolutions, paying compensation to Iran, withdrawing U.S. forces and stopping the war on all fronts, including against the heroic Islamic resistance of Lebanon. So they are celebrating. They're very happy about this deal. And if what they say is true that, you know, we're allowing them to enrich uranium, pulling out all the troops, all the sanctions, that is a major, major give to Iran from Donald Trump. He's just handing them exactly what they want in this deal. And that's sad because, you know, the United States, I love this country, I want what's best for this country. I don't want to give the lunatics in Iran who run this oppressive, oppressive, theocratic regime to have power over a significant region in the
Starting point is 00:05:03 world. I don't want them to have that. But it seems like Donald Trump just gave them that. He talked a big talk, and now he has backed down. Senator Chris Murphy, even jumping on this as well, saying it appears that Trump just agreed to give Iran control of the straight of Hormuz a history-changing win for Iran. The level of incompetence is both stunning and heartbreaking what on earth is happening. And matter of fact, he just went on CNN to break down the specifics of the deal. He's, of course, hearing things behind the scenes as a senator. And I want you to hear what he had to say about this major, major failure from Donald Trump with this agreement. We stand out here. One, the safe passage that Trump is saying is going to be provided for two weeks
Starting point is 00:05:42 as part of this, kind of the central part of it, through Hormuz. They're saying is possible via coordination with Iran's armed forces, which obviously implies that Iran controls the straight. And then from the National Security Council, they say this confers upon Iran a unique economic and geopolitical standing in terms of them regulating passage to the Strait of Hormuz. So what do you hear in all this? I mean, listen, who knows what's going on? Donald Trump lies every single day. Clearly, he's not telling the truth.
Starting point is 00:06:11 But if you accept even part of the Iranian statement, Donald Trump has a great. to give Iran control of the Strait of Hormuz. That is extraordinary. If you go deeper into the statement from the Iranian National Security Council, they claim that Trump has also agreed to Iran's right to enrichment to suspend all sanctions against Iran
Starting point is 00:06:35 and to allow Iran to keep their missile program, their drone program, and their nuclear program. Now, who knows if any of that is true, but if at the very least least this agreement gives Iran the right to control the strait. That is cataclysmic for the world. And it is just stunning that that's where we have gotten to, that Donald Trump took a military action that has, apparently, at least for the time being, given Iran control over a critical waterway that they did not have control over before the war began. So it just doesn't sound like
Starting point is 00:07:12 there's actually an agreement because when Trump is saying is totally different than what the Iranians are saying, but if Iran has the straight permanently now, what an error? What a miscalculation this entire endeavor was. Miscalculation indeed. I mean, he is just giving them one of the greatest gifts that they could have gotten out of this war. Complete control over the Strait of Hormuz, which they didn't have, is a complete disaster, not only for America. To be clear, this is not only an America problem. This is a world problem if Donald Trump gave them control over the straight of Hormuz. And I actually think his point about, is there even a deal as a good one? Because what Trump is saying is completely different from what the Iranians are saying.
Starting point is 00:07:54 And it seems like they still happen to be on two different sides of this agreement. Trump is making it sound good for the United States. Iran is making it sound good for them. But the public information we have does make it seem like it's good for Iran. But who knows? I mean, Trump is a liar. His administration is full of liars. Who knows what's actually going on? You can never be sure with this administration.
Starting point is 00:08:14 And I love this point from Miles Taylor, who, actually used to work in the Trump administration talking about this deal. He said, breaking, Trump got a deal for the low cost of 13 U.S. lives, hundreds wounded, thousands of dead Iranians, soaring gas prices, damage to NATO, decimation of U.S. influence, and threats of genocide. And Iran might open the straight, which was already open before the war started. Art of the deal. Art of the deal, right? This is the businessman in Donald Trump. Art of the deal. We get even weaker. We have troops die. Americans injure. NATO damage. Iran gets even more than they were hoping to get, and now we're in this position.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Art of the deal. The businessman who went bankrupt a bunch seems to be living up to that title. I mean, it is just absurd. So these are the details we have so far. We, I'm sure, we'll be learning more in the near future about what exactly is going to happen here. Is there even a deal? Will it end in two weeks and just go back to war? Who knows? But what I do know is that you can't trust Donald Trump on any of this stuff.
