So the chaos around the country in our airports continues.
We now have ice agents in the airports patrolling, sitting around, scrolling on their phones, doing nothing.
The lines are still incredibly long.
And there really is no end in sight for this government shutdown.
And it is all Donald Trump's fault.
The Republicans don't even appear to be trying to resolve this issue.
Instead, Donald Trump enjoys the chaos.
He wants to score political points against the Democrats, blame it on them.
But in reality, it is all his fault.
and even members of his own party are acknowledging that to be the case.
For example, a MAGA senator went on Fox News yesterday, live on air, and said that it was
Donald Trump who killed a bipartisan deal to end the shutdown.
This is backfiring on them in a major way.
So I want to talk about this story and more surrounding everything that's going on right now,
the chaos.
Before I do that, though, please make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video,
comment.
Let me know what you think about the story.
And again, I ask you if you've been in an airport in the past week or something.
So let me know how it's going, and especially the past couple of days with ice there now.
But without further ado, let's get into it.
So look, as I mentioned, I don't think the Republicans are even really trying to make an attempt to end this shutdown to fund TSA and pay these hardworking people who, you know, are doing a tough job every single day.
For example, Donald Trump on social media the other day said, I don't think we should make any deal with the Democrats unless until they vote with Republicans to pass the Save America Act.
So Trump is holding TSA agents paycheck hostage for his voter suppression bill.
It is just disgusting.
He said it is far more important than anything we are doing in the Senate, which is a crazy
thing to say.
And that includes giving the same terrible people, the Dems who are to blame for this mess,
a $5 billion cut in ICE funding, a deal which even when disguised as something else is
unacceptable to me and the American people unless it includes their approval of voter ID
and everything that comes with the Save America Act.
They will never be elected again. Republicans, that is, if they don't pass the bill.
In other words, lump everything together as one and vote.
Kill the filibuster and stay in D.C. for Easter if necessary.
I said this yesterday.
Donald Trump is very blatantly lying about the Save America Act.
It doesn't save anything.
And it actually hurts a lot of people.
He's basically making it much more mild than it actually is, that it's just voter ID.
It is not just voter ID.
It is much worse, much more sinister than that.
it is a blanket voter suppression bill, which I don't think Republicans understand will actually
impact them a lot more. I mean, they don't have access to a lot of these IDs that are
required under this law. They don't have access to a lot of passports. You know, states like
West Virginia, Oklahoma, you know, a significant portion of the population don't have passports.
And so I don't think they understand that this law is going to hurt that much more than I think
it'll broadly hurt Democrats. But in addition to this, Punch Bull News reported yesterday that, yeah,
Donald Trump was approached by Republicans with the bill, and he said no.
So this is not only coming from Punch Bowl, but it's also coming from this Maga Senator,
who we're going to talk about in just a moment.
But this is from Punch Bowl.
With the DHS shutdown now in its 37th, today is 38, Senate Majority Leader Thune approached
Trump with a new proposal on Sunday at the urging of his Senate Republican colleagues
and even some White House AIDS.
Thune told Trump that Senate Republicans would support funding all of DHS except ICE,
the agency at the center of the bipartisan dispute over Trump's immigration crackdown,
ICE funding could be handled later in a party reconciliation bill, which is not even abundantly clear if that would happen.
Democrats would accept the offer. The South Dakota Republican informed the president.
Democrats wouldn't get some of their chief demands, that is, banning masks for federal agents or requiring judicial warrants.
We could get those things if we went in the midterms.
That's another motivator if there weren't already enough if reconciliation were used.
Plus, TSA agents would get their paycheck and security line madness at airports would end.
So, you know, maybe a deal that would be amenable.
But Trump said no.
According to multiple sources, the president wants Republicans to stay in D.C.
And keep fighting with Democrats over this funding and the Save America Act.
Not only that, but Trump also warned that he'd publicly slam Senate Republicans if they left town for the upcoming recess.
Trump also said he'd invite all the GOP senators and their families for Easter dinner at the White House.
So some Republicans took that as a threat, not a reward.
Kind of sounds like a little bit of a bribe to me.
Hey, you'll come to the White House of their family if you pass my voter suppression bill.
Just utter madness.
And that brings us to this, that this MAGA senator on Fox News, no less.
Donald Trump killed this plan to reopen the Department of Homeland Security and get TSA workers paid by the end of the week.
A veteran Republican senator has revealed.
John Kennedy, who is 74 years old, told Fox News on Monday that he and Republican colleague Ted Cruz had drawn up a two-step path out of the shutdown.
That was to take Democrats' offer to reopen the rest of the DHS, then pass ICE funding separately through reconciliation, kind of the plan.
we just read about where Republicans would not need Democratic votes. Kennedy said the 79-year-old
president rejected it. Quote, no deals with the Democrats. The Louisiana senator said Trump told them,
quote, it would have worked. We could have had TSA paid by the end of the week. A senator from Louisiana,
a deep red state acknowledging that, yeah, it's Donald Trump in the way of this shutdown.
All these Republicans are going around and trying to put the onus on Democrats. That somehow,
even though they control the House, the Senate, the presidency, the Supreme Court, and all these
government agencies that somehow magically it is the Democratic Party's fault for the shutdown
when we've had many different proposals put forward to fund things like TSA. They're trying to
make that point. Donald Trump has tried to make that point. It's backfiring in a spectacular way.
And even Republicans are calling it out. Even Republican senators are saying, yeah, I don't think so.
The Republican admission comes a day after the Daily Beast reported that Senator Thune had taken a
similar everything but ICE proposal to Trump. That leaves Republicans,
publicly blaming Democrats for an impasse that Kennedy now says Trump himself prolonged while the
operational damage gets worse. And the good thing about all of this is that travelers are noticing.
Of course, the American people are noticing. They know who's to blame. They know where the blame
lies. This is a traveler who spoke to MS now and they were asked, you know, who do you blame for
the shutdown? Who do you blame for this chaos? And their answer was exactly right. Take a listen.
What do you make of this ongoing chaos at the airports?
Listen, I think it's terrible.
I think it's, I don't want to get political too much here,
but I think they should solve this.
And what I'm hearing is that there are some proposals on the table to get TSA,
you know, do funding for the TSA,
just flew in here and saw a bunch of ICE people down to the baggage claims.
Not sure what they're doing at the baggage claims.
I don't know if TSA,
I don't know why they would be people getting their baggage.
Who do you blame for all this?
Trump.
Yeah, I really do.
I mean, I've seen what's going on in Minneapolis,
and I'm very opposed to some of the tactics of ICE.
So I do.
I stand with the Democrats on this one.
What about the fact that they're walking around without masks on?
Does that help?
No, not at all.
And I'm watching downstairs.
We all came in.
You saw people bracing themselves, like, what the hell's going on?
here. And there were a lot of people who were taking pictures and sort of watching them.
They were just milling around. They weren't even doing anything. I don't just sort of chatting.
I don't know what their function was. Yeah, ICE has been absolutely useless. I mean, my friend
Adam Mockler, who I'm sure you guys know here on YouTube, if you're watching it on YouTube,
posted this yesterday. Why is ICE looming over TSA? Who invited him? Bro thinks he's on the team.
He's not on the team. Just look at this TSA lady. She's doing her job.
she's very competent.
She can do it just fine.
And you have this guy back here.
Oh, let me just, let me take a closer look.
And I got to get involved.
No, you don't.
You have no idea what you're doing.
Get out of there.
Get out of there.
You're not on the team.
You're not on the team.
You're not a TSA agent.
And so the good news is that, you know, travelers are putting the blame on Donald Trump
where it should be.
That's who is to blame for this.
And Trump's tactics here of just blatantly lying about what's the cause of the shutdown
are not working.
You can, you know, he can scream from the rooftops that it's the,
mean, nasty, liberal, extremist
Democrats, whatever words he's using these days.
He can scream that from the rooftops.
It doesn't change the facts.
And it doesn't change that he is president.
I don't know if he realizes that he is president
and his party controls everything.
And they can't get a deal done.
No government shutdowns under Joe Biden, by the way.
Love to remind people of that fact.
Man, I miss him.
Anyway, I will leave the video there.
Thank you so much for watching.
