All right, folks, check this out. I have some devastating news for Donald Trump, but amazing news for
American democracy. Trump's nightmare that he tried to cover up and make sure we didn't see just got
leaked online. And now thousands, if not tens of thousands of people have seen it, including me.
I watched the entire thing. Remember how earlier today on the show we talked about that 60
minutes episode last night where just three hours before the episode was supposed to air,
they put out a statement saying that their segment on Seacott, Trump, and his inhumane treatment of immigrants was canned.
They killed it from the segment.
Seacot is that prison in El Salvador.
Well, they forgot to cover all their bases because that segment in the episode ran in Canada.
They forgot to take it off the market.
And now it's been leaked online from Canadians who are doing their patriotic duty.
And everybody has seen it.
I've seen it.
I'm going to break it down for you and give you some notes that I took throughout the episode.
Before we do any of that, make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment.
Let me know what you think about this story.
And without further ado, let's get into it.
So, of course, this is what we discussed yesterday.
We talked about this exact article on the show that 60 Minutes pulled a segment, a correspondent called it a political move.
We learned that Barry Weiss, the new editor-in-chief at CBS, who is super-maga, super-conservative,
killed the segment by herself.
She said, we're not doing it because she said, Trump wasn't fairly represented.
They didn't have comments from the Trump administration, even though 60 Minutes reached out to them, and they didn't provide comment.
Sharon Alfonzi, the veteran 60 Minutes correspondent behind the episode, said that it was polled for political reasons and that if we just basically allow the White House to not participate in stories, and that's a reason to kill it, then you essentially give the White House a kill switch on any story that's negative.
That's what she said in her letter.
And that brings us to today, where the episode leaked in Canada and ran.
So the 60 Minutes segment pulled from air by CBS News Editor-in-Chief Barry Weiss did not include new comments from Trump admin officials, according to a copy of the segment viewed by Axios and viewed by me.
I can confirm that.
Why it matters, the segment anchored by correspondent Sharon Alfonzi, caused uproar internally over whether it was pulled for political reasons.
The answer is yes.
The package was distributed via an app owned by global television, which airs 60 Minutes in Canada.
So what most likely happened is that 60 Minutes sent the original version to this app in Canada for airing,
and they forgot to resend the new one, or it was already basically baked in.
They couldn't have changed it.
The segment included interviews with two people who were imprisoned at Seacot,
an executive from the nonprofit Human Rights Watch,
and the director of UC Berkeley's Human Rights Lab Center for Investigations.
One college student who was detained by U.S. Customs before getting deported to Seacot
describes being tortured upon arrival.
man told Alfonzi that he and others were taken to, quote, a little room where there's no light,
no ventilation, nothing. Quote, it's a cell for punishment where you can't see your hand in front
of your face. After they locked us in, they came to beat us every half an hour, and they pounded on the
door with their sticks to traumatize us while we were in there. This is according to a man who
was sent to this prison by Donald Trump. 60 Minutes also said it reviewed available ICE data to
confirm Human Rights' findings that suggested only eight men had been sentenced for
violent or potentially violent crimes. That means the eight men that three percent of the men that
Donald Trump sent to this El Salvador prison where he's claiming the worst of the worst go,
terrorists go, were actually convicted of violent crimes. Nearly half had no criminal record
whatsoever. We're going to get into that in just a moment. The segment ends with Alfonzi
saying the Department of Homeland Security declined our request for an interview and referred
all questions about Seacot to El Salvador. The government there did not respond to our request. The
segment includes previous comments made by Trump, also comments made by Caroline Levitt.
And according to a source familiar with 60 Minutes, the 60 Minutes team reached out to press
officials at the White House, the State Department, and DHS, all of which provided no comment.
And so far, CBS has also declined to comment.
Now, I'd love to play clips from this episode for you right now, but CBS is going on a
rampage right now.
So anybody that posts it on YouTube, their videos are getting taken down almost immediately.
So I can't play a segment, but I will give you the notes I took while watching it.
This is what I wrote on threads, Twitter, and all the different platforms.
Quote, I just watched a whole 60-minute segment on Seacott and Trump that was killed by Barry Weiss and wow.
It was devastating for Trump and highlighted how brutally this regime has treated people.
Here are some notes I took.
A man named William Lazada, who was sent to the prison, let's let it load, who was sent to the prison, spoke about how guards forced him to kneel for 24 hours straight.
If they moved, guards would take them to this room called the island, which is the room we just discussed, which had no light.
They'd been beaten and sexually assaulted in this room per the episode.
Only 3% of the men sent to the prison in El Salvador had been convicted of a violent crime and nearly half had no criminal record.
Quote, they never gave us access to clean water.
The same water from our baths and toilets was the same water that we had to drink and survive on.
The sicker and more injured we were, the better it was for them, one of the men said.
And as I added, the Department of Homeland Security did not respond to request for comment from 60 minutes.
Neither did officials from El Salvador.
What I just watched was stomach churning.
Please share this around.
I am disgusted.
And there is a link right here.
If you'd like to review it, it's on the miller she wrote.com.
It's her website.
And if you're interested, you can go to my threads or Twitter and find it there.
But the final thing I want to play for you, in addition to what we just witnessed, what we just read, what we just heard about.
Number one, it's so sickening that this is the state of the government where we are essentially
sending men who have never been convicted of a crime, don't have a violent criminal record,
don't even have as much as a speeding ticket to go get tortured.
We know that the conditions in this prison are brutal.
There was a Biden administration report that came out in 2022-23 that talked about this,
that it's likely violating UN law.
And Donald Trump is sending these men there anyway, despite him knowing that they are not
the worst of the worst or the terrorist that he seems to describe. It is disgusting and it needs
to be exposed. And I think that this highlights a broader issue. Of course, of course, what Donald
Trump has been doing with this prison needs to be called out. We're doing it right now. But
let's go back to your origin of where we're coming from on this story, that it was killed by
Barry Weiss at the request of the White House. I want you to hear from Senator Chris Murphy,
who published a video talking about this censorship, and I think he puts it so well. It covers
both the prison and the censorship. Watch.
So it's Monday afternoon. I know everybody's getting ready for Christmas,
but I wanted to just draw your attention to something that's happened in the last 24 hours
that really matters. You might have heard that 60 minutes pulled a segment last night
at the last minute that would have been really embarrassing for the Trump administration.
It was exposing these brutal conditions at a notorious El Salvadorian prison,
a prison that Trump is moving migrants to the point is the cruelty and the inhumanity.
And it was going to be embarrassing because,
whether or not these people had a right to enter the United States or not, no human should be
treated under these kind of awful, diabolical conditions. And the segment didn't air, and the
segment didn't air because Trump has effectively taken editorial control of CBS. What happened a few
months ago is that CBS's parent company got bought. It got bought in a sale in which Trump basically
said to the company that was buying it, if you want CBS, you've got to make CBS. You've got to make
CVS be more conservative? And you've essentially got to answer to me. That's what happened here.
Trump didn't want the story. They wouldn't grant an interview for the story. And so at the very last
minute, Barry Weiss, who had been installed as a conservative head of CBS in order to get the merger
approved, pulled the segment. And why this matters is because never before have we had a
President of the United States with this much editorial control, practical editorial control,
over American news networks.
And why it matters even more is that this company, Skydance,
is now in competition to buy Time Warner, which includes CNN.
Even if they don't get control of CNN,
and Netflix instead gets control of CNN,
Trump has basically told all these big billion-dollar companies,
if you want a merger approved,
if you want to take over a news network like CBS or CNN,
you can do it, but you have got to give it,
to give me power over what runs and what doesn't run. This is a big deal, this story being pulled
at the last minute off the air, likely just because Donald Trump had objections to it. And it previews
what's coming in American media as more and more networks get bought up by these giant billion-dollar
corporations that care only about profit and are willing to give Donald Trump editorial control
in order for their CEOs and investors to make billions off of these sales. This is how democracy dies.
When you listen to people like me, raising these five alarm alerts about the state of American democracy,
it's because we are watching in real time our ability to get the truth like the truth about what's happening in this prison in El Salvador because of the corporate takeover of our media.
Really well said by Senator Chris Murphy.
I always think he's so articulate on these issues.
And, I mean, this story is multifaceted.
It is disgusting in so many ways, whether it be the treatment of these innocent people, innocent.
I mean, let's call it what it is.
Innocent people in this prison in El Salvador to the censorship that has taken over American media at the direction of Donald Trump.
There is a five alarm fire going off right now for our democracy.
There's due process being deprived on one side.
And you look to the other side and American media has been compromised.
It's like it is overwhelming.
And that's why what we're doing on this show and what other people are doing on their independent shows is so important.
There's nobody that's buying me or telling me what to say.
There's nobody that's telling these other people what to say.
And no matter what Donald Trump does, no matter what Donald Trump says, he's not going to stop anything from running here or on these other shows.
It is so vital that in the face of networks like CBS being compromised that we continue to fight here.
So look, I'll leave the video there.
I just had to cover the story.
Donald Trump's nightmare leaked, and we're not going to let it slide.

Let me know what you think about this story.
And as I always say, I greatly appreciate you.
And I hope you have an amazing rest of your day.
