Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, folks, look, today has been such a busy day in regards to the Epstein files. There are so many moving pieces right now, and stories are coming out by the hour about the status of the files. So I kind of want to give you an update on where things stand because I think Republicans have really been trying to muddy the waters today and spread misinformation. And I also want to talk about Donald Trump's next move on the Epstein files, which I believe is pretty obvious. I believe we've all figured it out. And it's included in the bill that passed both. the House and the Senate. So we'll talk about that later. And then we will conclude by talking about Donald Trump's handpicked Epstein prosecutor who, what do you know, has ties to Jeffrey Epstein,
Starting point is 00:00:40 not just ties, deep ties to Epstein. The whole thing is compromised. Trump is compromised. His administration is compromised? But that's not exactly surprising, is it? So before we get into any of that, make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment. Let me know what you think about this story. And without further ado, let's just start here, is the main news. The bill to release the Epstein files has passed both the House and the Senate. It passed the House overwhelmingly. I believe the final vote was 427 in favor to one. Yes, there was one Republican who voted against it. He is Clay Higgins from Louisiana, I believe. And he gave this really weird reason for not voting for it. It's just like, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:24 of one of the worst political moves you can make in regards to the Epstein files, I think that is probably one of them to block the release of the files when virtually every member of Congress said, yes, let's do it. And then it later passed the Senate with unanimous consent, meaning that every single senator, every single one voted in favor of the files being released. You don't hear that sentence very often in American politics. Every senator agreeing on something, but that's exactly what happened today. And now the bill is heading to Donald Trump's desk. But for some reason, Senate GOP leader John Thune told the House or told CNN that the House will formally transmit the bill to compel the release of the Epstein files Wednesday morning, meaning it would then be officially approved by the Senate and sent to Trump's desk. So the Senate agreed unanimously to pass it, but the bill hasn't actually reached the Senate.
Starting point is 00:02:16 They were just doing that ahead of time. And Leader Mike Johnson, Speaker Mike Johnson, I should say, is still holding on to the bill. He has not given it over to the Senate. and Manu Raju, who is a fantastic congressional reporter for CNN, says it's unclear why Johnson is waiting till tomorrow to transmit the bill. I agree that it's somewhat unclear, but I also think we have, we know the reason. I mean, as long as Republicans can put this off, the better for them. I think they're still trying to get their ducks in a row on how to approach this situation, and so perhaps that's why Mike Johnson is holding onto the bill until tomorrow night.
Starting point is 00:02:49 So anyway, I just wanted to give you that update. but the White House, according to a reporter from Reuters, says that Donald Trump will sign the Epstein bill whenever it gets to his desk, whenever it gets to the White House. And this struck me as really fishy. The past few days, Donald Trump's conduct toward the bill has been really fishy. Because for months in his administration, he has been opposed to releasing the Epstein files. We know that, right?
Starting point is 00:03:16 We've seen the cover up that he's engaged in. And in just the past week on this bill, he was trying to get Republicans. to take their name off the discharge petition. But then it became clear that that wasn't going to happen. The bill was going to be overwhelming and then suddenly he switches. And now he says he'll sign it whenever it gets to the White House. I don't buy it. I think Donald Trump and the Republicans have a game and that's why he switched up. This is all politics for them as opposed to focusing on the victims. And this is what I think Donald Trump is going to do about the Epstein files. The bill grants Attorney General Pam Bondi the authority to withhold or redact
Starting point is 00:03:51 any material that could endanger national security or jeopardize an active federal investigation. And you can see this is written into the bill, permitted withholdings. Right up here it says at the top. And then at the bottom, they can withhold any document that would jeopardize an active federal investigation or ongoing prosecution provided that such withholding is narrowly tailored and temporary. And then, of course, on the national security front, it says that here as well. What I think Donald Trump is going to do, and what I think most people believe that Donald Trump is going to do, is he's going to claim that any documents related to him are part of an ongoing investigation.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Or if releasing them would compromise the United States, our national security, because then other countries would use that against the United States. That is so obvious, obviously Donald Trump's play here that somehow he's going to be able to withhold the files that pertain to him. And of course, Donald Trump recently announced that the DOJ is now looking into Bill Clinton, Reed, Hoffman, Larry Summers, and other Democrats in connection to Epstein. So that investigation that essentially he launched will be the reason why these files that pertain to Donald Trump specifically and other Republicans specifically will be part of an ongoing investigation and they can't release them. I think that's Donald Trump's play. And I'm happy to announce that Chuck Schumer spoke about this very play. that Donald Trump is appearing to make in an interview with Midas Touch. And I want you to hear what he had to say because I think it's important because, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:24 if Donald Trump is going to continue to engage in this cover up, there has to be resistance. There has to be people who are willing to hold him accountable, not only in the court of public opinion, but also in government. Let's get these files. Let's sue to get these files. Let's very obviously destroy Donald Trump's cover up and get them out in the public. Take a look. So the great news is now the House has passed it.
Starting point is 00:05:45 the Senate has virtually passed it, it goes to the president's desk. I was going to say, we have a lot more work to do. First, who knows how long the House will try to hold it. We should put pressure on Johnson to send it right over to us. Second, the president has said he'll sign it, but who the hell knows with him? Yeah. He can change his mind on a whim. But third, and maybe most important, and I just had a meeting of 10 senators to discuss this,
Starting point is 00:06:08 we've got to make sure we get all of the Epstein funds. All. Yeah. They can't fuck around with this. They can't say, oh, we'll give you this, but there are legal reasons. We can't give you that. And we are going to be pursuing them relentlessly to get everything because I don't trust this administration. I don't trust Bondi.
Starting point is 00:06:25 I don't trust Cash Patel. I don't trust the president. And they could screw around with this. It'll be all of our jobs to be on them and make sure that we get everything. You know, obviously I think everybody who has been very frustrated with Chuck Schumer recently regarding the shutdown. but what he just said there and what he has done today with the Epstein Files has been fantastic. So I'm not going to just bash Democrats to bash Democrats or praise Democrats to praise Democrats. I'm going to call balls and strikes.
Starting point is 00:06:53 And what Chuck Schumer has done legitimately today on the Epstein Files has been great. Getting a pass via unanimous consent, moving that, making taking that move, impressive stuff, genuinely. And what he said here is important because he knows, and I'm glad he's having meetings about this already, that Donald Trump is going to try this theory, this legal reason to say, well, you know, we can't give you these documents because of X, Y, and Z, and so we're going to have to withhold them. No, bullshit. Pursue them relentlessly. We don't trust Cash Patel.
Starting point is 00:07:22 We don't trust Pam Bondi. We don't trust this administration, to be honest, and certainly don't trust Donald Trump. Does anybody really believe that Donald Trump is going to willingly hand over documents that could perhaps completely compromise him? I don't think so. I think you'd have to be not being paying attention to, politics for the last 10 years to believe that. And so I'm glad that they're on this already. But the final story I do want to go over very quickly is the fact that, you know, this investigation
Starting point is 00:07:48 that Donald Trump has launched into Democrats surrounding Epstein is already compromised because the handpicked prosecutor has deep ties to Epstein. And I mean deep ties. Let's go over it. If you need another, this is from the Daily Beast, so good work on their part. If you need another example of why Pam Bondi's Department of Justice looks less like an independent law enforcement agency, and more, like a gated cul-de-sac for MAGA allies, fix your gaze on J. Clayton. At the behest of a president desperate to deflect the Epstein scandal in any direction, Bondi handpicked Clayton, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, to investigate Epstein's links to former president Bill Clinton, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman,
Starting point is 00:08:28 and former Harvard president Larry Summers. But Clayton is also the man that Trump in his first term, Attorney General Bill Barr tried to shoehorn into the SDNY in 2020 as they sought to push out a top prosecutor who happened to be circling Trump allies like Rudy Giuliani and Steve Bannon at the time. The mission failed and Clayton, the chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission in the Trump administration's first term, then found himself luxuriating on the board of Apollo Global Management, courtesy of Apollo founder and Trump ally Leon Black. Readers of the Swamp might recall that Black was also an Epstein associate who paid the sex offender roughly $170 million for tax and estate planning.
Starting point is 00:09:12 While Black has denied knowing anything about Epstein's industrial scale sex trafficking, a 2023 settlement with the U.S. Virgin Islands Attorney General shows Black admitted that the money he paid Epstein was used in part to fund his operations. And this is Leon Black, who of course. has connections to this Clayton prosecutor who Donald Trump is trying to appoint to lead this investigation. The document also shows that Black agreed to pay $62.5 million to the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2023 to be released from any potential claims arising out of the territories three-year investigation into these very operations. And just to keep the Trump
Starting point is 00:09:53 vibes on brand in 2018, as Congress probed foreign meddling in the 2016 election, Black testified about traveling with the president to Russia. in the naughty 90s, quote, the naughty 90s, where they had a concert, a discotheque, and might have been in a strip club together. Yeah. Now, Bondi has put Clayton, the man desperately wanted by Trump to install a few years ago in charge of investigating the Epstein files. Compromise, compromise. The entire regime, Trump surrounding Donald Trump is compromised. They have these corrupt people in there with connections to Epstein investigating Epstein.
Starting point is 00:10:29 And so does anybody really think these investigations, are going to go anywhere? Probably not. They're just serving as a blockade for Donald Trump to prevent more files from coming out and information about him from coming out. So look, I just had to go through all of this. This is where things stand. I will keep you updated on the Epstein files and everything going on with this story. Make sure to subscribe to the channel down below. Drop a like on the video, comment.
