Harry Sisson reacts to the breaking news reporting on Donald Trump's attempts to arrest Democratic members of Congress.

All right, folks, look, I cannot stress how important it is that people know about this story, because it is easily one of Donald Trump's most authoritarian moves since getting back into office. And that's saying something. He does quite a few things that are not Democratic are certainly exerting extreme executive power. But this one is especially concerning. So we've been covering on this show, and as have many other people, the stories surrounding these Democratic lawmakers who made that video, telling the military not to follow illegal orders.

So essentially, they're just telling the military to follow the law, which is very good advice. But that has sent Donald Trump into a full-blown spiral. We know that on social media, he's been ranting about this call from Democrats saying many great legal scholars agree that Democrat traitors that told the military to disobey my orders, which did not happen, have committed a crime. The traders that told the military to disobey my order should be in jail, now, not roaming the fake news networks, trying to explain what they said was okay. There's been more, of course. He posted this on his social media page, a link to a Twitter post which demanded military

tribunals. It's a meme that says if your justice system has been corrupted, how do you bypass the corruption, military tribunals? And of course, he's also called for these Democrats to be put to death, right? Saying that this behavior of telling people to follow the law is seditious by nature and should be punished by death. And now we're learning the extreme lengths that Donald Trump has gone to to intimidate these members of Congress. Now, the FBI is investigating them, investigating them, because they told the military to follow the law. He is using law enforcement to silence Democrats, silence critics, and it needs to be called out. So we're going to get into the story of the FBI investigating these Democrats. Several congressional Democrats said Tuesday they might be under investigation by the FBI after filming this anti-Trump video urging military troops not to follow illegal orders. Democrat Jason Crow from Colorado, he's a representative who appeared in the video, said Donald Trump in a new statement is using the FBI as a tool to intimidate and harass members of Congress. Yesterday, the FBI contacted the House and Senate sergeants at arms requesting interviews. Other Democrats put out a joint statement saying no amount of intimidation or harassment will ever stop us from doing our jobs and honoring our constitution.

That sounds like patriotism to me, but Donald Trump, of course, doesn't have an ounce in his body that is patriotic. He doesn't know what it means to be patriotic. He doesn't know what it means to follow the law. I mean, he himself is, of course, a convicted felon. Senator Alisa, Alyssa Slotkin also put out a statement saying the president directing the FBI to target us is exactly why we made this video in the first place. He believes in weaponizing the federal government against his perceived enemies and does not believe that laws applied to him or his cabinet. Of course, they all appeared in this video. They said, don't give up the ship, which Donald Trump responded by saying it's seditious behavior at the highest level, which of course it is not. And this

story has been confirmed. The House Sergeant at Arms office was contacted by the FBI on Monday about setting up interviews related to the six members of Congress, according to a person who spoke anonymously. The matter was then passed off to the House Office of General Counsel to interact with the DOJ. Typically, investigations related to members of Congress were handled between the Office of General Counsel and the main DOJ, not the FBI,

which is making the outreach somewhat unusual. And of course it is, because Donald Trump is using the Department of Justice and the FBI as his personal police force to intimidate critics. And just think about what we're talking about here. Interviews with members of Congress who use their First Amendment right to advocate for the military to follow the law. These Democrats who have backgrounds in national security in serving in the military themselves are absolutely in the right. I mean, is telling people to follow the law now a crime now, according to Donald Trump in Trump's America?

If you tell people to, you know, not do anything illegal, not break the law, apparently that's worthy of FBI, interviews and a possible investigation. It is insane. Of course, the Pentagon also announced that it would investigate one of the lawmakers in the video, Democratic Senator Markelly of Arizona, for serious allegations of misconduct, which could result in recalling him to active duty to face a court-martial alleged crimes. So court-martialing a sitting Democratic senator, it is as bad as it gets. And Pete Hegseth actually put out a new statement talking about this entire saga today. early in the morning at 805 in the morning. He said, the despicable video featuring or urging Department of War troops, Department of Defense, to refuse illegal orders may seem harmless

to civilians, but it carries a different weight inside the military. It was a politically motivated influence operation. It never named a specific illegal order. It created ambiguity rather than clarity. It used carefully scripted legal-sounding language. It subtly reframed military obedience around partisan distrust instead of established legal processes. In the military, vague rhetoric and ambiguity undermines trust, creates hesitation in the chain of command, and erodes cohesion. The military already has clear procedures for handling unlawful orders. It does not need political actors injecting doubt into an already clear chain of command. As veterans of various sorts, the seditious six, that's their new nickname, knew exactly what they were doing,

sowing doubt through a politically motivated influence operation. This is insane. I mean, Pete Hegseth is acting as if they've committed treason. and they've like, you know, worked with a foreign country against the United States. Maybe Donald Trump has done that. I don't know. But, I mean, this is insane. They were advocating for people to follow the law. And even Hagseth acknowledges that it may seem harmless because it is harmless.

Telling the military to not follow illegal orders is the right thing to do. It's what military officers who are training folks in the military. That's what they tell them. Don't follow illegal orders. You swore an oath of the Constitution to this country, to the United States. You didn't swear an oath to the president, or certainly not Donald Trump. They're trying to frame this as something it is not. It is so disingenuous, it's so dishonest, and anybody with a basic understanding of the law, which I guess Pete Hegsef doesn't.

He has a basic understanding of alcohol consumption and what it means to attack women and assault them, but certainly not an understanding of the law. I mean, he is a former Fox News host, so the law over there is kind of flexible. And of course, this is the Department of Defense statement about their investigation into Mark Kelly, saying in accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C., Section 688, and other applicable regulations. A thorough review of these allegations has been initiated to perhaps court-martial Senator Mark Kelly. Now, he has issued a response, and he's standing firm, which I love. He said in a statement yesterday, I swore an oath of the Constitution in 1986. I've upheld it every single day through 25 years of service since I retired. If Trump's trying to intimidate me, it won't work.

I've given too much to our country to be silenced by bullies who care more about power than the Constitution. And that's a great response. But I'd rather you hear from him in an interview he did with Rachel Maddow talking about this very scenario. Take a listen. Let me first just get your response to this threat from the Defense Department saying that they are investigating you. They may potentially recall you to active duty to face a court marshal. Well, Rachel, I said something that was pretty. simple and non-controversial.

And that was that members of the military should follow the law. And in response to that, Donald Trump said, I should be executed. I should be hanged. I should be prosecuted. He even went on and said something about go get them, I guess sending a mob to round me and the other folks up. So this is, I think it says a lot more about him. than it says about me. He doesn't want accountability. But Rachel, I'm not going to be silence. I'm not going to be intimidated. And I love that response from the senator. And I just want to go back

here and show you something in this interview. Retired Navy captain, an astronaut and a senator, dedicated his life to public service, as has his wife, who, of course, was shot and talks about gun regulation every single day. This is what a real patriot looks like, someone who answered the call of service, someone who put their life on the line, has had, you know, bombs explode next to planes they were in, flying in the military. That's a real patriot. Donald Trump, Mr. Bonespurs himself, who breaks our laws and dodges the draft five different times, he doesn't know what it means to be a patriot. So someone like Senator Mark Kelly, these other Democrats who stood up for the rule of law, and again, just said, follow the law. That's all they said. These are the real

patriots. Donald Trump and Pete Higgseth are complete frauds who only care about themselves and nobody else. It is so infuriating that this is the political moment we find ourselves in when apparently following the law is against the law. Donald Trump's America is antithetical to what we do here, to our foundation. It's just so infuriating. So look, to the Democrats stand strong, we are with you.
