Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, folks, J.D. Vance is now leaking his displeasure with the Iran war to the media. At least that's what it looks like in this article. According to Politico and a new exclusive piece, J.D. Vance was skeptical on Iran. He was the one skeptical voice about the war in the White House, and he's making it known. He's been distant in recent days surrounding this war. He really isn't commenting it on that much. And that's because he wants to run for president in 2028. He knows how bad this looks for Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:00:29 he knows how awful this looks for him being connected to a war like this, another forever war that Donald Trump obviously has no idea what he's doing with. And so he's trying to stay away from it, leaked to the press that he doesn't like it, so his 2028 chances stay alive. I want to get into this article with you and more in just a moment. But I think the main point here is that J.D. Vance knows how bad this looks. I mean, for example, we got this news last night, and we talked about it on the show earlier today. But just to reiterate, according to the International Energy Agency, the Iran war is creating the, quote, largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market.
Starting point is 00:01:09 And we know since the war in Iran has started, prices have already gone up at the pump 22%. It's been maybe just under two weeks. They've gone up 22%. The stock market is crashing. And the American people don't support this war. Poll after poll shows this. J.D. Vance knows this. you can see, especially when Donald Trump is being asked like, hey, when do you think this war
Starting point is 00:01:32 is going to end? Like, how do you know when you're going to end the war? And this is what he said on Fox News today. No joke. This is what he actually said. And I had to take an excursion. We had the greatest economy in history. We do, we still do.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Oh, this will bounce right back. When it's over, and I don't think it's going to be long, when it's over, this is going to bounce right back so fast. When are you going to know when it's over? When I feel it. Okay. I feel it on my bones. Will you ask anybody in particular? Would that be some of the joint decision?
Starting point is 00:01:59 Well, I deal with people. I have great people. Yeah. I have General Raisin-Kane. I have Pete. Pete, Pete turned out to be a star. Marco's great. J.D. I've got all good people. I've got, we've got a great group. So you, let's talk about. So, I can't believe this is our country right now. So Donald Trump says he will end the war when he feels it in his bones. there's further evidence that there's no plan there's no objective there's no goal Donald Trump has tried to define this war over and over and over again to the American people with different excuses it used to be the nuclear weapons then it turns out it wasn't nuclear weapons it used to be the threat to the word the United States then it wasn't that then it
Starting point is 00:02:41 was regime changed but it wasn't that then it was you know he just keeps changing it and now his whole thing is I'll end it when I feel it in my bones what the fuck What does that mean? What does it means? It means he has no plan. That's exactly what it means. And speaking of J.D. Vance, he was asked today like, hey, what did you tell Donald Trump before the war in Iran?
Starting point is 00:03:02 Like, what was your advice to him? And he hid behind confidentiality saying, oh, I can't tell you what I told the president. That's classified. But we know that J.D. Vance is not hiding behind that because he really believes it. He knows that he doesn't want to be on the record saying, oh, I support it. I told him to go do it and you're going to do great, Mr. President. Watch. What did you advise the president initially as he considered his actions in Iran, and what are you urging him to do now, especially with Americans seeing higher prices at the pump
Starting point is 00:03:32 and some of the fallout from that across the economy? Do you express any concerns like those you've expressed in the past on the possibility of these extended wars? Well, Bill, I appreciate the question. I know you guys have to ask it, but imagine the situation. We're in the situation room where you can't even take your iPod in there, or your AirPods, I guess what they're called. You can't take your iPhone in there. You can't take anything in there because it is the most classified space anywhere in the world.
Starting point is 00:04:01 And I sit there with Pete Hague-Seth and General Kane and Marco Rubio and the entire White House team, and the president and I and the entire senior team are talking about the options and about what we need to do and about how we must best protect the American people. I hate to disappoint you, but I'm not going to show up here
Starting point is 00:04:19 and in front of God and everybody else, tell you exactly what I said in that classified room, partially, because I don't want to go to prison. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. I think we might have some idea. And speaking of which, final thing, before we get into this article on just how you know J.D. Vance knows this is bad. He is a prolific tweeter. He's like Donald Trump Jr., not Trump Jr., but little Donald Trump, in terms of how much he tweets and how aggressively he tweets. And I've just decided in preparation for this video to scroll through what J.D. Vance has been putting out on social media. He hasn't talked about the Iran war or defending it since March 2nd. It's March 13th. It's almost two weeks since
Starting point is 00:04:58 J.D. Vance has defended this war. He posted a video of him talking about undocumented immigrants voting, which is not a thing, him going to the University of Georgia for a turning point USA event. Again, the SAVE Act. He talked about participating in the dignified transfer of fallen American soldiers. But the last time that he defended this war was March second right here. He hasn't posted about it since then. Why is he so silent? Why is he so distant? Well, it's because of this. Vance was skeptical on the Iran strikes and he's leaking to the media that he was skeptical. Vance, who has long questioned U.S. intervention abroad, has publicly defended Trump's Iran operation. But White House officials reveal that the vice president made his opposition
Starting point is 00:05:38 known in the lead-up, pulling the curtain open after months of speculation about Vance being far more tepid about military action than Trump. And what's interesting is that Donald Trump has really tried to hinder J.D. Vance in this realm because when Trump was asked about this, you know, was there any opposition in the White House to this war, he said, no, no, no, everybody was with me. J.D. Vance was with me, Marco Rubio. Everybody was on my side. And yet J.D. Vance is probably sitting there like, oh, my God, I can't believe he said that because it obviously looks bad for all of them. Vance is skeptical, worried about success and just opposing. the war on Iran, a senior Trump official said in a text message. That's, you know, it's a different
Starting point is 00:06:20 person. It's DJ Vance. It's DJ Vance, not J.D. That's senior Trump official. The official is granted anonymity to speak about the vice president's views. A second Trump official said his role is to provide the president and the administration, you know, all the points of views of what could happen from many different angles. And you know he does that, but once the decision has been made, he's fully on board. Vance's well-documented skepticism of U.S. military engagement forged in his experiences serving in the Marine Corps in Iraq, paired with his more subdued tone on these successes of the operation, have fueled speculation of a schism between the president and his vice president. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:56 I mean, he's been incredibly quiet about this all. He's not defending this war in public. He's even dodging questions about advice he gave Donald Trump in the lead up. I mean, he could have said anything. Like, you know, you're going to make the right. You could have just said the press, you know, I told Donald Trump you're going to make the right choice. and whatever you say, I'm with you 100%. He didn't say that.
Starting point is 00:07:15 He said, oh, it's classified. It's a dodge. It's a dodge. J.D. Vance is actively trying to distance himself from this war. He is maybe, perhaps, trying to throw Donald Trump under the bus in his own way, Trump doing it to him as well by looping him in with it all the time. It's not the first time Vance has appeared to differ from Trump over U.S. military action. When the U.S. bomb the Houthis earlier last year, Vance wrote in a thought-to-be secret signal chat
Starting point is 00:07:41 with other administration officials, that he thought the move was a mistake, and it comes amid a year-long paper trail of public remarks documenting the reasons it is not in the United States' interest to go to war with Iran. The fresh example of a policy divide between the two men comes as Trump has cited a role for both Vance and Marco Rubio, who is publicly more aligned with Donald Trump on Iran on a 2028 ticket. Even Trump on Monday brought up the division, but it didn't seem to bother him. Quote, Vance was, I'd say, philosophically, a little different from me. I think he was maybe less enthusiastic about going, but he was still quite enthusiastic.
Starting point is 00:08:14 There it is. Donald Trump looping him in. Come here, J.D. You're not getting away from me so fast. He says he was still quite enthusiastic, Donald Trump says. Despite J.D. Vance obviously being the leak behind this piece or somebody on his team being the leak behind this piece, you know, nobody close to Donald Trump is going to Politico and saying, oh, J.D. Vance doesn't like the war. It's somebody in his office, maybe even him. I mean, we know he has a tendency to do things like that.
Starting point is 00:08:39 So I think we're seeing this real division between Donald Trump and J.D. Vance over this war. Donald Trump is trying to sell it to the American people, bring Vance in. Vance knows it looks bad. He wants to run for president. He is a selfish, selfish man who wants to be powerful, and he will do whatever it takes. That's what we're looking at right now. But anyway, I will leave the video there. Thank you so much for watching. Make sure to subscribe down below.
