The Trump curse is real.
Everything he touches goes to die.
Everything in sports, every team he backs goes to die.
Whether it be football, soccer, basketball, you name it.
If Trump backs a team or a player or something, it always goes poorly.
And that's exactly what happened yesterday in the World Cup, where the United States got destroyed in the World Cup.
It was a demolition.
And I don't say that proudly because I was rooting for Team USA.
Of course I want to see the Americans do well in any sports competition, but they were beaten for one.
this comes after Donald Trump got involved in the World Cup, called up the president of FIFA,
told him to overturn a red card, and essentially got them to bend the knee, a very, very corrupt
move, and it turned the entire world against us.
So I want to get into the story just a little bit more because there's more to this than meets the
eye.
And now Belgium in the entire world is mocking us because of Donald Trump.
So let's just start here.
Of course, we lost 4-1, not good.
And this comes after, Fuller and Balligan was got a red card in the round of 32 against
Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was sent off, meaning that not only was he not allowed to play in that
game any further, but he'd be suspended for the next game. There was a lot of outrage over this. I didn't
think the foul was a red card, but that's what the referees on the field decided. Then Donald Trump
called up the president of FIFA, told him to get rid of the red card, reverse it, have him start the
next game, and then what do you know, the red card disappeared. And he was eligible to play,
and he did play yesterday. This caused a lot of controversy, and we actually have the full timeline of
the campaign to bring Balagan back, according to half a dozen U.S. government and soccer officials.
So Wednesday, after the game, Andrew Giuliani alerted Trump to the red card.
Trump and Giuliani had been talking multiple times that week since the start of the World Cup.
And then Wednesday night, Giuliani, Lutnik, and U.S. soccer officials began activating on
plans to challenge it.
That kicked off four days of coordinated lobbying, legal maneuvering, and diplomacy that stretched
from the Oval Office to Zurich, where FIFA is.
On Thursday, Trump dialed Gianni and Fantino and asked,
about FIFA's rules around the red card and the suspension.
FIFA declined to confirm any specific discussions,
but reiterated to Politico that the decision to suspend the one-match ban
was made by an independent committee, they say.
As U.S. Soccer's legal team formally prepared and submitted its appeal to FIFA,
Giuliani and Lutnik offered to make White House attorneys available.
They're, wow.
At the same time, Giuliani, excuse me, and Scott Goodwin,
a hedge fund manager who helped pay the salary of Mauritio Pachitino,
zeroed in on the officiating history of referee Raphael Klaus.
Articles examining previous controversies involving Klaus
circulated among senior government officials.
On FIFA side, Emilio Garcia, who oversees the legal affairs of FIFA,
advised Infantino on the available procedural options.
Garcia and other FIFA officials worked to determine whether the circumstances of
Balagans tackle met the narrow standards that would allow the committee
to revisit the decision and have it overturned.
So we are actually dedicated, and we did.
dedicated government resources, government attorneys, government officials, and taxpayer dollars
to getting this red card overturned.
So when Donald Trump is out there saying, oh, you know, I just made the request and
there was no involvement when FIFA is claiming that Trump's decision and his lobbying didn't
impact them at all, that's total crap.
It's total crap.
By Sunday, FIFA announced that the card would be suspended.
FIFA insists that the decision was made independently by its 18-person disciplinary committee,
but it would not say whether the decision was decided through a vote and has not published a report on the decision.
So just corruption broad as day.
And that really just set off a firestorm.
Maga then, for some reason, began celebrating this on social media.
They were like, this guy, Gunther Eagleman saying, lull, no, bro, I have the Trump card I win.
Trump card always wins.
Posting an AI video of Balagan with a Trump card, he got 24 million views.
I said to them, so now Maga likes birthright citizenship, because
Allegan is a birthright citizen.
And, you know, just a week ago, Donald Trump and the Republicans didn't think he was a real
American citizen.
But they were bragging about it on social media.
And Trump yesterday in a press conference admitted to wanting the review.
Just take a look at what he said.
He's not even hiding it anymore.
I mean, he's not, you know, ever really hiding the corruption already.
But certainly not with this either.
Just watch this.
It's utterly insane.
It's sort of entangled.
He didn't do anything wrong.
And he's our best player or one of our best players.
It's a very vital player.
And he gave him a red card.
I didn't know what that meant.
I didn't think it meant much.
Then I started hearing that that means he can't play in the next game, at least in the next game.
I said, boy, that's a big, you know, if it happened to another player, it would have been unfit.
This spring, denim gets a softer, lighter update.
Introducing Old Navy's drapey denim wide leg, a new fit that moves with you.
It's everything you want denim to feel like for summer.
Easy, breathable, and effortlessly cool.
With a fit that creates natural movement and a wide leg that feels modern, not overwhelming.
Plus, that signature, wait, for this price, moment.
Old Navy's drapey denim wide leg.
But when they take your best player or just about, they have some great players,
and they say you can't play.
That's very unfair.
That's, you know, it's one thing to penalize somebody for the game.
But how do you penalize them for a game that hasn't been played yet?
It's very unfair.
you can't do that.
So yes, I asked for a review by FIFA.
I spoke to a man who's highly respected.
Just openly admitting it.
Yeah, I asked for a review.
Nice.
And this had some backlash here in the United States and abroad.
For example, this is journalist Tom Bogart saying walking around Seattle
ahead of the USA game, plenty of USMNT jerseys, including this custom one, impeach Donald Trump.
I love this guy.
Whoever this guy is out there wearing the Impeach 47.
American jersey, I love you. I'm a big fan. I'm a big fan of the jersey. I'm glad you did it
because, yeah, the amount of corruption we see on a daily basis from this guy is disgusting.
We also got some global condemnation. Yergen Klopp, one of the best soccer managers ever.
I'm a big soccer fan. I grew up in Europe for a lot of my life, played soccer. And so
Yergen Klopp used to manage Liverpool, Brutia Dortmund. He's a great manager and has won a lot of
trophies. He condemned FIFA and Donald Trump saying this is our sport not theirs. If Donald Trump
Ben Gianni and Fantino really sorted this out between themselves.
It's madness.
It calls everything into question.
And I would agree.
I mean, this whole tournament has been great.
It's been such an amazing experience to watch all these different teams,
these different people celebrate their soccer teams just for Donald Trump to get involved
and ruin it.
And not, you know, this doesn't ruin it.
It doesn't destroy the tournament and the good that's happened, but it just taints it
a little bit.
The fact that, like, FIFA is so easily swayed by Donald Trump.
And so Belgium won the game and they began trolling the United States.
Here are the players mocking Donald Trump's dance that he does.
They scored a goal in the very last minute of the game, basically, and they started
mocking Donald Trump's dance.
Just embarrassing for the United States.
It's such broad daylight corruption.
It's happening in front of everybody's faces.
We're getting backlash, of course, in the United States from good people who care about fairness
and no corruption, but also the world is making fun of us.
Top soccer managers are making fun of us.
Players are making fun of us.
Donald Trump embarrasses the United States on a daily basis all the time.
And you have accounts like this, the Belgian Red Devils,
who support the Belgian soccer team saying overturn this.
And it's the players celebrating after winning the game
and the tweet has 3.3 million views.
Really, you know, just humiliating for the United States.
This was an attendee at the game, putting it nicely.
Take a list.
Everything Trump touches.
I'm proud of our team.
I'm proud of our fans.
I'm proud of our country.
Fuck you, Donald Trump.
Everything Trump touches dies.
Everything Trump touches dies.
I like this guy.
I don't know who this gentleman is,
but once again, this is another guy out there,
another men's national team fan who I'm like,
you know what?
This is good.
This is what the fan base should be.
This is what we should all be saying about Donald.
Trump. Really, everything he touches goes to dyes. And on the topic of the Trump curse,
I mean, think about Donald Trump's record when it comes to sports. So he gets involved in the men's
national team for soccer, they lose. And they lose badly, which again, no joy in saying,
I've watched the men's national team for a very long time. And I want them to do well. No joy in
saying that, but they lost badly. So they lose. He gets involved in the Knicks. And the one game that
he attends for the Knicks' NBA finals run, they lose. He went to the Super Bowl for the Chiefs and
predicted a chief's victory and they lost.
It's the Trump curse.
If Trump is backing your team, you're in big, big trouble.
Remember, when the whole Knicks thing was going on, they put out a statement saying,
you know, the night that Donald Trump is going, fans should expect enhanced security
and TSA-style screening procedures.
Guests are strongly encouraged to arrive at least two hours before tip off.
So completely ruining the experience for fans who spent so much money to go to the game.
And then, of course, there were lines.
The employee line at MSG before any of the fans had got in
was a one hour wait for employees who work in the venue.
Just disgusting and a complete middle finger to everybody in New York.
But, you know, the New Yorkers took it well, them saying, you know, let him come.
We're going to boo the F out of you.
Take a last.
Hey, let him come.
We're going to boo the f out of you, bro.
Like, let him come.
As a Nick fan, we don't want the distraction.
We're taking in one game at a time.
It's zero-zero.
We want the win.
We're focused on basketball.
and nothing more.
Yeah, the Knicks fans were not in favor of Donald Trump coming and they made it known.
Let's just listen to this clip one more time because I love it so much.
Trump getting booed at Madison Square Guard.
Ugh, it's such a sweet sound.
And I just want to sum it up.
The Trump effect.
The USA just lost to Belgium in the World Cup round of 16 by a score 4 to 1 right after Trump called FIFA to clear the start.
striker. Sports fans are calling it the Trump curse.
He attended the Super Bowl and predicted a chief's win, but the Eagles blew them out.
He was there when the commanders hosted the Lions and lost at home.
He watched from his suite as Miami fell in the college football national championship.
He sat in the owner's suite when the Knicks snapped their huge playoff streak in NBA
finals game three, and he attended the Ryder Cup where Europe topped the United States team,
and now he's gotten the United States men's national team to lose in the tournament.
The Trump curse is real.
It's real.
I'm not, you know, a, what do you call it?
Like a spiritual person maybe or a believer in things like that.
You know, I'm superstitious a little bit, but I try not to be.
But this is real.
The Trump curse is real.
I don't care what Maga says.
I don't care what they say in the comments.
I don't care how angry they are.
The Trump curse is real.
So anyway, I just wanted to break this all down for you.
And look, Trump and Maga will hate me for saying this.
They hate, you know, just common sense, I think.
But Donald Trump owns this partially.
I don't think, call me crazy, I don't think we would have lost in this way if Donald Trump had not been involved in the process.
I really just don't believe it.
So look, I will leave it there.
Thank you so much for watching.
