This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

four games.
Most people believe all four favorites, just move to the next round.
We will have upsets.
It's guaranteed at least one.
And Joy Taylor is joining me.
Akeeb to leave today, among others.
Good show plan.
This is a great show.
This is a great weekend.
Every game has such an exciting storyline to it.
A lot of star quarterbacks and young star quarterbacks.
We start with this.
The Jets hired Robert Sala, the very energetic, bald, intense, good-looking guy,
defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers.
You know, a lot of times you shake your head.
You don't know if it works.
He apparently is a very impressive interview, and Joe Douglas, a competent GM, has now hired him.
All you need to know about this is the Jets went from an offensive head coach with no personality
who struggled to get along with the media and players to a defensive head coach.
with a big personality and great energy who they say gets along with everybody.
This was not just about Robert Sala.
This was about going the opposite of Adam Gase.
Now, every year we got six or seven openings,
and every year, one is a complete miss.
You know, Freddie Kitchens, Jim Tom Sula, Steve Wilkes, Matt Patricia,
Ben McAdoo wasn't great.
They generally all, very early on,
I guess I should have noticed this with Adam Gase.
They didn't even do well in the opening press conference.
They didn't have much of a presence.
I like my quarterbacks to be quarterbackal.
I like my head coaches to have a presence.
You're in a room with alpha males and millionaires.
You've got to be able to walk in and own the room.
Sala's going to be really good at that part.
He's got a big presence.
He's pro player, big energy, good looking confident guy.
I do not think like Adam Gase, he will butcher the opening
press conference. So that's my guess. The Jets should be better. They have now a competent general
manager, very good draft last year. A lot of draft picks, could get more. They've got cap space.
There's no reason you can't win quickly. The Dolphins and the Cleveland Browns hired the right
coach. Overnight, they look like a different team. Takes them about two or three games,
and you can turn this puppy around. The Jets have some talent. They are not completely devoid of talent.
don't think it'll take that long.
But here's the interesting thing.
This shows you how bad Adam Gase whiffed.
According to several NFL people, you've watched them, this network, other networks,
the Jets now are leaning toward keeping Sam Darnold.
Now think about that.
Darnold hasn't done anything in the NFL, regressed badly this year.
Like nine touchdowns, 11 picks.
Regressed badly.
And according to reports, they're like,
like, yeah, we're going to go with Sam Darnold.
So Sam Darnold will get another head coach.
Now, I do think Darnold's talented, but that tells you how little regard they had for
Adam Gase.
Generally speaking, new coaches like, this quarterback's not working.
Literally with a very little track record, they're like, we're going to go with Darnold.
So this is really an indictment of the previous general manager and the previous coach,
what they're doing now.
So the Darnold news now can change.
the entire draft because if you look at the draft order this morning, the Jets, recent history
will tell you they'll get multiple top picks for their current number two pick if they keep
Darnel. That's going to be Justin Fields, the quarterback Ohio State. They're going to get multiple
good picks, couple number ones of two. Well, they already got a couple number ones for Jamal Adams
that trade to Seattle. So there's no reason through free agency, a lot of cap space.
and draft picks that the Jets won't have seven to eight new starters for their next coach.
They should succeed.
They should succeed to some level.
And just look at the draft order.
Keep your eye.
Atlanta's got a number four pick.
Matt Ryan.
Matt Stafford, number seven lions.
About time.
Eight Carolina.
12, San Francisco.
Vikings 14.
Patriots 15.
If you look at the draft order, there are a lot of.
potential suitors for that number two pick the Jets have.
I think Sala should work.
I think it's hard to fail when you have seven,
eight elite picks and a ton of money.
It's hard to fail.
And a coach who appears to have a presence and a competent GM.
All right.
Let's shift to this.
It's crazy.
Kansas City is favored by 10 points over Cleveland.
And I understand Andy reads off a buy.
I get it.
But upsets happen a lot more in the divisional round than anybody wants to admit.
To great quarterbacks, Aaron Rogers was 15 and 1 coming off a Super Bowl at home.
Nine point favorites.
Lambo, cold, and lost to the New York Giants.
Last year, MVP, Lamar Jackson, don't want to face him.
14 and 2 Ravens at home.
10-point favorites over Tennessee wasn't that close.
they got rolled.
Peyton Manning.
Remember he goes to Denver?
They're 13 and 3.
Huge favorite at home and mile high.
Hard place to play in January.
Nine and a half point underdog Joe Flacco walked into town and beat him.
Two years ago, Steelers, eight point favorite at home over the Jags.
They were rusty.
They gave Ben some time off, fell into a huge hole, lost to Jacksonville.
Even Bill Belichick, 2010 New England, 14 and 2 Patriots, 9 and a half point favorite, at home, Mark Sanchez and the Jets waltz in, and beat him.
So we've seen Belichick lose and Peyton Manning lose and Aaron Rogers lose and Big Ben lose.
I'm just saying, Cleveland's also a very fast starting team.
They led 10 times at halftime this year, and the Browns went 10-0 in those games.
Remember last year, Kansas City came off a buy at home and fell behind.
They were rusty, 24-0-0 to Houston.
I do not believe the Cleveland Browns would relinquish a 24-0 lead.
Also remember, last year, Kansas City had the aid of a home field advantage.
This year, not so much due to COVID.
So when I look at these games this weekend, this is the one.
I understand Andy Reed and a buy.
Don't we all kind of suspect Kansas City kind of a slow starting team,
Cleveland kind of a fast starting team, young on a roll.
You know the first quarter, Kansas City may be a tad rusty,
haven't played in 20 games as Patrick Mahomes.
This is the one Sunday at 3.5.
Eastern to me to keep your eye on.
I'm fascinated by it.
I just cannot figure out the line.
I've said before.
Vegas has lines and it only happens a couple times a year and I just don't understand them.
I do not get them.
And my inclination is I ain't betting it.
I'm staying away from that puppy and that's my advice.
Staying away from this game.
But I think if Kansas City blows them out, then it changes.
everything I think about the playoffs, because I don't think it's going to happen.
I think it's going to be really close.
And Gerald McCoy, Greg Jennings coming up.
One of the things I want to talk about next, Urban Meyer is now officially the head coach
of the Jags.
We'll talk about that in a little bit.
Also, I think Green Bay is a lot better personnel-wise than people think it's not just
Aaron Rogers.
But we do a segment every Friday, the very last segment of the show.
It's called Tomorrow's Headlines Today.
And we kind of, Jason McIntyre comes on.
He predicts the games.
What will a headline be?
It's just a fun segment.
But we have four games this weekend, and there's going to be an upset, and there's probably going to be two.
And so coming up next, what will the headlines be Monday if Mahomes loses, Rogers
loses, Josh Allen loses, and Drew Bree loses.
Drew Brees.
Who will take the hit?
Because whenever there's an upset, a coach takes a hit, a quarterback takes a hit, somebody gets tagged by the media.
This avalanche of fans and media criticism comes down the hill.
And I think it's interesting in all four games.
If there's an upset, four favorites lose, and they won't.
But who will take the hit for the losses for the favorites this weekend?
That's coming up.

Do you remember when Diana Ross
double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jay.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Welcome to my new podcast, Learn the Hard Way with me, your host, and your favorite therapist, Kear Games.
And in recognition of mental health awareness month, I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience in the mental health field and conversations with so many incredible guests.
I'm talking. Trip Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you
here on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

different recipes on their website. So you've got four playoff games this weekend and you got four
favorites and four underdogs, a couple of big underdogs. Who will take the hit? Because you know how
Mondays are? When a favorite loses, somebody's got to, they're shrapnel. Somebody's got to take a hit.
So let's start in all four games. Let's start with Green Bay and the Rams. So we know Monday morning
Aaron Rogers and the Packers at home as a big favorite of lost.
Who takes the hit?
My guess it's Aaron Rogers.
We're going to say, dude, this is now three home losses in the playoffs.
You're now 10 and 9 in the playoffs.
Six and eight since the Super Bowl.
You have a top receiver, a top running back, seven pro bowlers.
You can't win at home against an injured Jared Gough, warm weather team that struggles in cold weather.
Aaron's going to take the hit.
fair or not, it's going to be dude.
We got your home field.
We went out in the free agent market.
They've drafted well.
Aaron Jones, Devante Adams, these are star players and you can't win with them.
Aaron's going to take the hit on that one.
All right, let's say Baltimore upsets Buffalo.
It's a very small line, so it's not a huge upset.
I like Buffalo to win in cover.
But let's say Baltimore wins.
I think the critics of Lamar Jackson,
on Twitter will take a hit.
The media hasn't been really critical,
but there's a lot of haters out there
and he can't win trailing
and he can't win
when he falls behind.
He'll be two and two and four playoff games.
By the way, his touch has gotten better.
His passer rating in his career is over 100.
He's winning 81% of his games.
He just plays differently.
But when you're this athletic,
you don't have to be, you know,
like Philip Rivers is a good passer.
He's the worst athlete, and nobody crushes him.
He'll get Hall of Fame votes.
This is the best.
athlete in the NFL in terms of raw speed, he doesn't have to be a great passer.
Philip Rivers can't run and is not always a great passer.
And many of you would say he's a Hall of Famer.
So I think the critics of Lamar Jackson, a young kid who keeps getting better,
but it doesn't look the way quarterback looked for most of our lives, the critics
will get hammered.
All right, what if Cleveland upsets Kansas City?
My takeaway is the media, which always loves stories, the media fell in love,
anointed them a dynasty after winning one Super Bowl.
And I think the media looks kind of silly with this sort of like Kansas City is just going
to reel off four and five Super Bowls.
I do think they're going to be in the Super Bowl picture for 12 years.
But dynasties are hard.
And the media said Seattle was going to be one and the Niners were going to be one with Harbaugh.
and now Kansas City is going to be one.
Only one has really been one.
And that is New England.
And I think the media looks like they get way ahead of the curve on really explosive teams.
And if you really look at the last seven, eight games, Kansas City's not playing well.
They struggled offensively against Atlanta.
Brady ate them alive twice in the last month.
And finally, what if the Buccaneers upset the Saints?
You know who I think takes the hit?
The Patriots.
All you had to get him was some pieces and he's back in a conference championship.
You couldn't get him a couple of pieces?
I mean, nobody thinks Ariens is Belichick.
Nobody thinks the ownership group is as good as Robert Kraft.
Nobody thinks the home field advantage is as good in Tampa as it is in frigid, cold, windy Foxborough.
All Tom needed was a couple of pieces.
Boom. He got him. He's in the conference championship against, you know, potentially an Aaron Rogers level player.
So I think that the Aaron Rogers would take a hit. The Lamar Jackson critics will take a hit.
The media anointing the Kansas City Chiefs as a dynasty after one Super Bowl would take a hit.
And I think it's going to make New England look really bad if Tom ends up at 43 years old in the NFC championship,
knowing that Belichick superior to Brouserians,
they could just increasingly never get him any elite weapons.
Joy Taylor with the news.
No, no, no, no, turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
It's official the Jaguars have hired Urban Meyer
as their next head coach.
The team introduced him today,
and he spoke about making the transition to the NFL.
Well, if you're asking me if I'm going to enjoy losing,
I think we all know the answer to that.
I will be in the head coach, but I'm going to hire great coaches that are going to be expected to do their job.
I'm not going to be running around like a nut on the practice field.
And, you know, those days are gone.
We've talked a lot about, you know, what it takes to be successful as an NFL head coach.
And I think a huge part of it is what Urban just said, which is hiring really good assistance.
Not necessarily coming in and hiring people you owe things to or get pressured.
into something else like when you go into an organization and you're in charge,
hire people that you trust that you know can do that job and let them do their job.
That's what delegating in a hierarchy means.
I'm really excited to see what Urban does there.
I am the same way.
I can't wait.
I mean, listen, I've known Urban for a long time.
We work with him.
He's really smart.
He's a culture changer.
You know, we talked about this.
When Matt LaFlewer was hired in Green Bay, they didn't need a culture changer.
Just somebody to push Aaron Rogers, get Aaron playing at his best.
That's all they needed. They had a good culture. They draft well.
This is a culture change. And this is what he does. So my guess is he'll implement many of the same
strategies he's used. And for the record, Joy, he's going to have a very young team.
He's not inheriting an old veteran team that's won. He's going to have a bunch of 24-year-olds.
So it's going to feel like a super talented college team for the first couple years.
Because my guess is, urban, one of the things he can obviously see is, listen, I'll probably
be better early with young players joining me in my alliance and then we'll go cherry pick in the
free agent market a handful of veteran players who are coachable and understand what we're trying to do
here. I think that's exactly what he should do and what's going to happen obviously as well because
they are completely rebuilding. I didn't love what Shad Khan said about being involved with personnel,
but I have to imagine that he and Urban had long talks about how that's actually going to work
and that Urban is the one who's actually running the football side of things as he should be.
I mean, I was thinking about it this morning.
We talk, I mean, I don't have like a personal affinity for Jacksonville.
I've never been to Jacksonville.
But I don't like bad organizations and duds.
It's not good for anyone.
I mean, they were talking about moving this team to London year ago.
Yes, yes, yes.
It's not good for anyone.
We talk about the Browns.
I am from Pittsburgh.
It's against my nature to root for the Browns.
But I don't want the Browns to be terrible every single year.
You go down the list of teams that your team is playing.
Oh, the Browns.
Like, well, that's going to be a day I can get some stuff done with my wife
because I don't have to sit there and watch this horrible game.
Nobody wants that.
I want every team to be competitive in the conversation.
It makes for better football.
It makes for a better league overall.
And I'm excited to see what Urban does there.
So Titans Offensive Coordinator, Arthur Smith,
has gotten a lot of interest for head coaching positions this year.
And after two interviews, the Falcons reportedly have offered him their job.
He has been the focus for Atlanta during their search, and it appears Smith is also very interested.
He has canceled a second interview he was scheduled to have with the Lions.
This feels right.
Arthur Smith to Atlanta feels, this is the one we predicted.
He has a house in Nashville.
He grew up in Memphis.
This one feels like the fit.
And by the way, Matt Ryan finally gets an offensive coach.
He runs that Kyle Shanahan system.
This kind of feels right to me.
I think, I mean, I was kind of rooting for Rahim Morris to get an opportunity here.
but this kind of felt like this was the momentum was going towards Arthur Smith.
And he's proven he deserves this opportunity here.
The Lions are another team while we're talking about the Jaguars.
Like how amazing would it be if the Lions were competitive again, like in a conversation
for winning that division, that fan base.
Now that Cleveland has their act together, Detroit's the last dead franchise in the league.
Yeah.
I mean, because Jacksonville now, let's just say it, Urban Meyer, Trevor Lawrence.
That is an active, interesting, fascinating football fractures.
Everyone's going to watch to see what Trevor Lawrence and Urban do there.
Detroit's the last dead franchise.
They better do something dramatic.
But I think this is a good move.
Whatever you're going to do with the Falcons, at least for the immediate future in the next year,
is going to revolve around Matt Ryan.
He's too expensive to go anywhere.
That's right.
So you have to bring somebody in that can work with him.
And having a Shanahan influence, obviously we saw the success that he had when Shanahan was there.
Makes perfect sense.
So the NBA is fine.
Kyrie Irving $50,000 for violating the league's health and safety protocols when he attended a private indoor party without a mask.
So it appears that time off was in fact spent at this birthday party.
This was a part of his personal time.
Can I ask this?
How did this video get out?
Well, we live in 2021 where everyone has a cell phone.
Wasn't this at his house or something?
I'm not sure exactly where it was.
Who would go to my, if I'm holding a birthday party and there's like eight of them, 10 of people there, wouldn't eat.
And you were at it without a mass doing something and we were all your friend.
The last thing we do is rush to put it on social.
Like who would do that at your own birthday party?
You should probably be more careful about the people that you have around here.
I mean, I just don't understand.
I mean, it's similar to the James Hardin situation.
Why is this on the internet?
Listen, I'm 33.
I'm going to be 34 years old.
So I literally grew up in the social media era.
like my freshman year of college is when Facebook came out.
So you don't have to put everything you do on the internet.
You don't even have to take pictures of everything that you do.
And you could just go do it and then not have actual documentation.
Do you know what I do?
That's not what I'm encouraging here because Kyrie was wrong.
He knows he's not supposed to be doing this.
So regardless of whether there's a picture there or not to prove that he was violating
health and safety protocols is irrelevant.
But just since we're having the conversation, stop recording everything you do.
Like I know Derek Jeter's
I think somebody told me Derek Jeter once had a party
at his place in New York and you had to put your phones
outside the house. A lot of people do that.
Yeah, like nobody gets to use your phone inside the house.
That's like a
That was an everyday Derek Jeter ruled
If you come to my house, phones are outside.
Phones out off in a basket.
A lot of people do that.
Or they make people sign non-disclosures.
I just don't understand how the Kyrie Irving video gets out.
It's a birthday party.
You invite friends.
What friend would hang their player out to dry,
their buddy out to dry?
I mean, I think, you know, the idea is you're just taking these pictures from memories that she would post later or something like that.
But I don't know.
That's, to me, like, that getting out is not surprising because people have to record everything that they do at all times.
Have you ever done this?
My daughter does this.
Is, have you ever taken a beautiful picture of something?
But you don't show it until you've left the place?
I personally, for like, safety purposes as well, unless I'm, like, telling people like, hey, come hang out with us.
like, you know, when doing radio, sometimes you do, you want to tell people where you are.
Right.
I don't ever post where I am at the moment.
Yeah, I'm the same one.
Like, I'll take a picture.
Very rarely.
Either hours later or even days later, then I will post like I was here.
That's more for safety reasons.
But yeah, it's really not a necessary thing to do.
Yeah.
You're going to have the memory.
It's up here.
Joy Taylor with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd Lie News.
Yeah, I remember one, I don't have any, I don't have any, I don't,
don't have a single autographs when people used to get autographs. I don't have a...
I feel like when I was little, I definitely got someone's autograph. I was never, I was always,
if I could talk to you for 10 minutes, five minutes or something. Like if I met, you were famous and
you said hi, the idea of having a piece of paper with your name on it, I never understood. I got a
picture with Junior Seow. And I cried. You cried. Junior Seow was my favorite player
growing up. Wow. That's interesting. I was my favorite player. But like Junior Seow was
the guy to me. I actually, I came up like in my favorite player. I actually, I came up like in
my Facebook memories yesterday.
I, like, saved it again.
You can tell I was crying because I'm like...
That's funny.
Greg Jennings, Packers, host the Rams this weekend,
brought to you by Mercedes-Benz the Best or Nothing.
Fox Sports NFL analyst 10 years in the NFL.
So, okay, so Green Bay, it just feels like warm weather, L.A.,
Jared Goff's hands all messed up.
And I feel like, oh, my God, this is just a bad spot for the Rams to be in.
Now, here's the downside of Green Bay is,
you've been in these spots.
You're a big favorite.
You're off a by.
You could be a little rusty.
Tell us what it's like to be in that spot for Green Bay right now.
The, hey, can't wait to you guys win this game and move on to face blank in the NFC championship.
Is that something you have to fight in Green Bay occasionally?
You do.
You do because all the expectations are there for you to move on.
Like everyone believes that Green Bay should win this game.
and they will win this game. And so when you have that type of expectation, and it's not just
outside the locker room, this is how they believe within that locker room. And so they know
the position that they're in. And to be frank, Aaron Rogers, we don't know how many more opportunities
like this he has to have this type of team to be able to accomplish what's in front of him,
which is a Super Bowl championship. We don't know his window. And so you got to take advantage of
it right now. So they understand that. And I believe the Rams are on the other end of it,
looking at it like, look, we weren't supposed to be here. And they're going to think that we're
at L.A. team. We're not accustomed or we can't become acclimated to the weather. None of that
really matters when you get to the playoffs. It's all about just taking those three hours that you
have to play, locking in and executing as best as you can. And whoever
out-executes their opponent in these playoffs for those three hours plus, they typically win
the ball game.
You know, it's interesting.
There's been a lot of upsets.
I just talked about Peyton Manning, 13 and 3, losing as a nine-point favorite to Flacco,
the Patriots nine-point favorite losing to Mark Sanchez, Big Ben, nine-point favorite, losing
to Jacksonville last year, Baltimore.
So it's funny when it comes to upsets, Greg.
this is so weird as a television viewer.
I always feel like if an upset's going to happen,
you can sense it in the first two drives.
You just feel like, oh, that line of scrimmage is an issue.
What will I have to see by the Rams for you to think,
oh boy, this is not good for Green Bay?
Well, it'll be them getting off to a slow start.
And what that means is them not being able to move the ball,
methodically. And here's the reasons why that would happen. Because number one, the Rams can get
pressure from an interior perspective because of Aaron Donald. He's going to garner so much attention.
And then that leaves Leonard Floyd and the others on the edge to then secure that edge and
pass rush from there. You try to confine Aaron Rogers to the pocket. You have Jalen Ramsey who can
match up on the perimeter against your best receiver. And then you have other guys, Derry and
Williams, Troy Hill, all these pieces that have played really well in pressure situations.
They haven't been in this type of situation, but they have performed. And so when you look at that,
if they can stifle this offense early and often and disrupt their rhythm and timing,
you've got to believe because they adjust well. When you look at Brandon Staley,
he adjusts every single possession. He doesn't wait to the second half. He doesn't wait to the second
quarter. He assesses and he's always trying to be a step ahead so as players know what's coming.
And that's what I really like about this Rams defense versus the Green Bay offense. And that's
what I'm most fearful of for the Packers because when you haven't played that rhythm,
it might take a minute for you to find it. And if you can't find it right away,
you may never find it. We've been, I've been in that situation. Colin, you know this.
when we've had the buy and we were 15 and 1 and the Giants came in and we just never could get our footing.
The expectation was for us to steamroll these guys or just beat them and we never could get our footing.
We were an explosive offense and we sputtered out the gate and we never got it going.
Yeah, no, I remember that team.
And again, it was the Giants defensive front getting Aaron a little off his spot and that's all it takes.
Because no reason.
Yeah, go ahead.
And I'll say this.
A lot of people don't like to talk about pressure.
And Aaron Rogers does have the pressure on him to perform well.
And this is why.
And I'm not saying he can't and he can't meet the expectations because he
typically does.
But this is the reason why Aaron Rogers has to perform well.
If he doesn't, he is their best player, period.
If he does not perform well, meaning play a flawless game,
that doesn't mean he has to throw for 300 plus yards and four touchdowns.
but he has to play flawless.
What does that look like?
That means get rid of the ball, help his offensive line,
because they are going to be under duress all night long
or all afternoon when it comes to that front seven.
And so he's going to have to get rid of the ball,
make decisions, be decisive, win with his legs,
and continue to move the ball and score when they're in the red zone.
That's how you beat this Rams defense.
You're not going to get a bunch of chunk plays,
but when they are there, you've got to capitalize.
By the way, Sean McKeever,
McVeigh is something like 36 and 0 when he leads at half.
So Green Bay comes out off a by a little slow.
What you don't want to do is fall behind at half because McVeigh's never lost when he leads
at half.
So Urban Meyer goes to the Jags.
And Joy and I were just talking about this.
If I was Urban Meyer, first of all, it's going to be a young roster.
He's going to be very good in the college personnel game in draft because this is what
he knows.
That's what Pete Carroll did.
These college coaches, they do pretty well in the draft.
Matt Rule, by the way, Carolina had a pretty good draft.
So my guess is he's going to have a fairly young team, Trevor Lawrence,
a lot of draft picks, that will work to his advantage.
But let me ask you, for the 15 to 20 veteran players on that Jacksonville roster,
will they be cynical or skeptical of a college, iconic college coach coming in?
I'm going to go on the side of saying no, because when you look at the Jacksonville Jaguars,
they haven't experienced success.
A lot of these guys aren't still there from when they had the success a few years back
when they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, when they got to the AFC championship game.
So you have a lot of turnover since then.
And when you have that type of turnover, you just want to have a coach that gets it.
And Urban Meyer gets it.
He's not one of these coaches that, I get it.
He's coming from college, but he's always made whatever situation he's been in
inserted in better. He hasn't slightly improved it. He's drastically improved every situation. And when you
have a trek record of that, you can take that template and move it anywhere in life. I don't care
who you are because he understands what it takes. It's not just about Urban Meyer. And he's been
always clear about that. It's about his players, getting the right personnel, making sure his
coaching staff understands that they have a role to play and delegating and giving them the liberties to do
what they do best and he doing what he does best, which is really elevating and taking every situation,
every program, and now the Jacksonville Jaguars to the next level. And he has everything. I love this.
I love this roster. I know a lot of people will knock it, say they're young. They don't have
this and they don't have that. They have a lot of really good young talent. Levisca Chanel, DJ
Charks, James Robinson on offense, and then you get Trevor Lawrence. That you have a solidified offense going in.
and youth that can grow together.
So he's going to have an opportunity to allow these young guys to flourish
and these older veterans who would be optimistic or kind of opposed to having a college coach come in
because it is urban fire and you know the track record that comes with him,
you don't do that.
You embrace that and you're excited about the opportunity.
Okay, so New Orleans is favored over Tampa.
and I think New Orleans has the best roster in the league.
You know, you know that roster.
I think it's very, very good.
So have you ever had to beat a team three times?
Go back to your career.
I think it's hard to beat even inferior teams twice.
You tell me, when you face a team multiple times in a season,
even if you finished a season with a team and you open up with them the next season with a team,
how difficult is it for the Saints this weekend?
It is going to be a challenge.
And my experience with having to face a team three times,
it goes back to our Super Bowl run when the last game of the season,
kind of like the Cleveland Browns this year,
it was we win, we're in, and we played the Chicago Bears,
and they played their guys.
And we beat them and we got in,
and we ended up beating them in the NFC championship game.
And so, and they had, I believe they had gotten us early in the year.
I'm not quite certain about that.
But when you look at a team that has beaten the team twice,
automatically you assume, yeah, we got these guys, but New Orleans have been hurt in these
playoffs enough to know better. They're not going to take for granted the fact that the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers are playing better. They have chemistry. They have greater chemistry now. And when
they had them the first game of the season, it was Tom Brady's first time under center with
this new head coach, with this new team, with these new pieces. All the things weren't really
a line. You get him a little later. He's a little more comfortable and you disrupt everything that they do.
If New Orleans can continue to respect their opponent and play the way that they've been playing all year,
getting rid of the ball, not turning the ball over, but getting turnovers, they will be just fine.
They apply so much pressure and they're good up front against the run. They're good in the secondary.
They can disrupt. They can harass receivers. They can get hands on balls. They do so many.
things well, it is hard for me to see this team losing at home against a team that they are already
confident that they match up against. Good stuff, Greg Jennings. Good talking to you. We'll talk soon.
Absolutely. Appreciate it, Colin. You bet. I like New Orleans, and one of the reasons I like them,
they're a three-point favorite is, as you were watching that video, the Saints are able to get
pressure on Tom without blitzing anybody, and they have really good corners, so they can match up on your good guys
and don't have to bring any extra people.
So I think it's one of those matchups.
I mean, if you look at the Steelers, Browns,
Steelers blew them out.
And the last time they faced, the Browns blew them out.
And the other game was kind of in the middle.
There wasn't a significant matchup advantage for either team.
I think the Saints have a decided advantage,
the ability to get pressure on Tom Brady,
which he doesn't like without bringing extra people.
And I just think the personnel for the Saints up front
is better than the offensive line personnel for Tampa.
So I think once again, Brady's going to be under pressure,
not have a ton of time to throw, and make more mistakes,
like he's done in the first two outings in the first eight quarters against them.
Coming up next, my quarterback face bracket, much maligned,
went four and two last weekend.
We'll update it where we picked teams this weekend based solely on the quarterback,
coaching, defense, weapons.
None of it matters.
Home field, strategy.

I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

So I call it the quarterback face
bracket. It was a disaster of the first
year I tried it. So obviously I tried it another year. Last year it had more success. We don't count
coaching. We don't count home field. We don't count defense. We don't count momentum. We don't count
weapons. We simply picked the game based on who's the better quarterback in the moment. Last week,
we went four and two. Feeling pretty good. We kind of made a mistake. Actually, Baker was playing
better than Big Ben coming into the game. We should have saw that. That was our fault. We let stuff get in the
way. Who's the better quarterback today? Let's go to our quarterback face bracket. So
Baker Mayfield against Patrick Mahomes. This is the AFC divisional round and Lamar against
Josh Allen. So Patrick Mahomes, 23 and 1 in his last 24 starts, his postseason career,
which is five games. His passer rating is 106.6.6. And the Chiefs have scored.
30 plus points in every playoff game in the Mahomes era.
Patrick Mahomes right now, more consistent higher ceiling,
will win this game.
Patrick Mahomes.
Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson.
As much as I like Lamar,
the Ravens have never scored more than 20 points in a playoff game with Lamar Jackson.
Josh Allen is 7 and 0 since week 12 and leaves the AFC with 20 total touchdowns.
Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes advance in the AFC divisional round.
Let's go to the NFC.
Jared Goff against Aaron Rogers.
Well, Goff has the fewest touchdown passes, lowest passer rating, and most turnovers of the eight remaining playoff quarterbacks.
Aaron wins.
Brady and Breeze.
Tom Brady has 335 straight passes on the road without a pick.
Longest streak in NFL history, he's hot.
200 plus passing yards in the first.
half of three straight games. And by the way, Drew Bree's last five playoff games, 10 touchdown,
six turnovers, doesn't throw the deep ball, Tom increasingly throws it better, Rogers and Tom Brady
advance. Now let's go to the conference title round. Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, this is the tough one.
Josh Allen has multiple touchdown passes in six straight games. Mahomes has seven turnovers in his last
six games. In this moment, Josh Allen is playing at a higher, more consistent level than Patrick
Mahomes. I'll take Josh Allen in our quarterback face bracket. In the conference title round in the
NFC, Brady and Rogers, each of the last five quarterbacks to lead the NFL in touchdown
passes, completion percentage, and passer rating in the same season like Aaron have gone to the Super Bowl.
Brady, by the way, had four games with multiple picks this year.
Aaron Rogers is the winner of the NFC quarterback face bracket.
So now it's Josh Allen against Aaron Rogers.
Coaching doesn't matter.
Defense doesn't matter.
Where the game is played doesn't matter.
Experience doesn't matter.
What we care about is today the better quarterback.
Aaron Rogers, first player in NFL history, 40 touchdown passes plus with five or fewer picks.
he's been more consistent.
Aaron Rogers wins the Super Bowl
and wins Collins'
third annual quarterback face bracket.
So what do you think of that?
I think it's strong.
I do too.
I was stupid.
I should have had Baker over Ben.
Ben had one good half against the...
I was going to say something,
but I know you do a lot of research.
You put a lot of time into this,
so I didn't want to sweat you off your position.
Now, Josh Allen Mahomes, people are going to freak out.
But I'm telling you,
you look at right now they're both young so experience isn't the thing there right now this
second who's playing better more consistent football with more confidence i think it's josh allen
so now that could get blown out of the water if my holmes throws for seven thousand yards again
it is the quarterback face bracket it is the quarterback face bracket so urban mire um why and what
will happen in jacksonville are the packers way more talented than we're giving them credit for
will Tom Brady finally miss Urban Meyer?
All those coming up in hour two, plus Gerald McCoy, former Buck and Cowboy.
