For many of you who don't get up super early, you don't know what Joy Taylor has transformed herself. She was on television about six hours ago. My God. Yeah, I got a crisp 155 a.m. alarm. Oh, my God. And dared to get on Zoom at 2 a.m. as well. I can't do that. Which I thought was very interesting, considering Kevin Wilds and Brandon Marshall

did not have their cameras on. You did. I did. I did. I went for it. But, no, it did first things first this morning. Thanks, guys, for having me. It was good time. Yeah, you look fantastic.

So I would not after an hour of sleep. So, you know, I like anonymous quote. and the public does not like anonymous quotes. I want to know who said it, but the reality is people don't want to get fired. And with social media these days, you can say something that's innocuous, that is harmless, and get called out and lose your job. So anonymous quotes are hugely important, have never been more important, and social media has made them sometimes not only just, but the only way to get.

get stuff. I do, I say stuff all the time on this show and what do I say? So an executive told me. There's a reason guys don't want their name out there. And there's a reason they talk to me because a lot of guys want their message out there. So I never buy into the you can't use anonymous quotes. That's where you get 90% of your great crap. 90% of the good stuff I get is somebody that will tell me something. I'm on my phone all the time, but they just don't want it out there and they know they can trust me. Joy has the same kind of sources. So Bruce Feldman. Feldman went out and wrote he downloaded it a couple hours ago. It's very interesting.

Or I did. He went and talked to two dozen anonymous, two dozen scouts and coaches on these quarterbacks. And they've got great quotes on all. So I'm going to give you some I agree with, some I don't agree with. But I will tell you this. Now I believe Mack Jones is going to the 49ers at third. Because there's one thing said that's fascinating by multiple people.

Let's start with the quotes. First, there's Trevor Lawrence. Here's the quote that jumped out to me. Said an anonymous scout, no-brainer top guy. I was trying to be critical, not just go with the flow. The more you study him and the other guys, he's the best by a wide margin. I agree with that. I think everybody else is a prospect.

He's a prodigy, very LeBron-like. Then there's Zach Wilson, seen as the number two pick of the Jets. Said anonymous quarterback coaches. I definitely have concerns about the level of competition. He's not playing against an SEC defense at front or even Pac-12 or Big 12. Love the talent. There's a lot of risk there to me. You're watching him going, don't throw it, don't throw it.

And then he does make plays. He's crazy on the field with his decisions. Another coach went on to say regarding Zach Wilson, he's really good, but the bad is really, really bad. By the way, sounds a little like Sam Darnold, right? Didn't they just get rid of him? and when he goes to a bad team like the Jets and he's trying to win games, big concerns, I see a lot of, why would you even try that?

I bet it doesn't work out with him. And unlike Trey Lance and Justin Fields, at least there's 6-4-230 and can run. By the way, I do think Zach Wilson has the highest bus potential. Now we go to a third quarterback. A quarterback I actually know a little bit of met a couple of times, Trey Lance says, An anonymous quarterback coach. Several coaches actually said this.

Tough evaluation. Maturity A-plus. Football IQ A-plus. Team guy. Very self-aware. He just needs to play more. To me, he has the biggest upside of anybody in the draft.

This is what I believe. I think he has to sit a year, but I think he and Trevor Lawrence are really the eye-popping talents. I said this a year ago when I saw his tape. I said he doesn't even look like any of the other players. Then there's Justin Fields. A lot of people are critical of Justin. I love the guy, but if he has to play this year, said a scout, that is scary.

I have him rated fifth among the quarterback, super efficient, very productive, six, three, runs a four, four. I'm not sure he sees the field that well. I may disagree, but there's a lot of criticism with him with scouts. They worry a lot about, and I hear this a lot, seeing the field, blah, blah, blah, whatever. And then there's Mack Jones, and this is where it gets interesting. So everybody knows he's got an athletic ceiling. but this is what they're saying. And it all kind of is on the same thing.

I am driving the bandwagon. I noticed something last year after Tua got hurt and Mack went in. They stopped running RPO's and started calling dropback pro stuff. I was like, oh, they trust him. But he's more than just that. I think he's the best thrower of the football by a lot. Other coaches go on to say anonymously, if I had to win right now this year,

he's the most advanced now of any of them. He's going to walk in day one, just flip terminology because he knows pro football because he was coached by a pro football guy, Sark. This is where it's really interesting. Another said, are Mack Jones physical tools worthy of being a top five pick or even a first rounder? I don't know. But if you tell me I have to win now, I think the physicals are good enough.

I mean, the kid had four picks, completed 77% in a pro system. Who does that against top college competition? So this is where it's interesting. So I've told you, I believe whoever goes to the Niners, whoever it is, will succeed. I think Trevor Lawrence and whoever goes to the Niners will succeed. I know I'm going to lose the Mack Jones argument initially. He's going to the most proven head coach and the win now roster.

It's a Super Bowl roster. So I know whoever goes there is going to win now. And Mac Jones, I believe, is going to go there. My question's always been, the NFL is not about winning games. We would love Kirk Cousins if it was just about winning games. Tula had a better winning percentage last year, six and three than Justin Herbert, six and nine. It's not about winning games.

It's about winning big games. That's why we roll our eyes at Mitch Trubisky. Who, by the way, I'm not joking, look it up, has a better winning percentage today than Deshawn Watson. And they were drafted in the same class. It's not about winning games. It's about winning big. Kyle Shanan is not about winning.

winning games. That's not it. So I think what will happen is, initially the reaction for Mac Jones will be, hey, coward, told you he could win. And then eventually the reaction will be, yeah, but there's a ceiling. He is Kirk Cousins. There's a ceiling. Now, but here's where I believe we have an official draft pick, Mac Jones to the Niners. So all those scouts are essentially saying the same thing. He's ready now. He's ready to play now. He comes out of an NFL coach Saban, NFL coordinator, Sarp, NFL wide receivers, NFL offensive linemen in the best conference in football. He's closest to winning now. And winning now is very important. Kyle Shanahan has been a head coach for four years. He has one winning season. He's got to win that. He's got to win that.

He's got to win now. Well, the ceiling. This is a guy that says, listen, Kyle Shanahan's world, he's saying to himself, I beat Sean McVeigh with backups. I got to a Super Bowl. The one year my quarterback was just standing up.

I want to win now. I got to a Super Bowl and led Mahomes in the fourth quarter with Jimmy Garampo. low. This, all these quotes, it becomes very clear. Kyle Shanahan needs to win now, has to win now. Mac Jones can win now. He probably knows watching Trey Lance. He's got a higher ceiling.

But he's probably saying he hasn't played the competition. He didn't have a pro coordinator. He didn't have a pro head coach. He didn't play at a conference against pros at Georgia and Auburn, LSU. So Kyle Shanahan's world is, the one year I had a quarterback who, was upright. I led in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. Hell, I'm beating Sean McVeigh with backups. Just give me a guy that can win now. This guy can win now. Also, what is the other element of San Francisco that's real? They're going to move off Carapolo. You can't move

off Garapolo if you get Tray Lance. You may look at Justin Fields and say, I could move off Garapolo, but probably a year in. If Mac Jones can win, you know, win now, NFL coordinator in college, NFL head coach, NFL receivers, NFL defenses SEC. If he's ready to win now, I could move Garofalo in a week. I could move Garoppolo at the trading deadline and get back picks. Well, I mean, what would you get? I don't know. Sam Darnold got three picks. You don't think Garoppolo's going to get picks?

So maybe Shanahan saying, hey, yeah, guys like coward are crushing me. I gave up the picks, but I'm going to get picks back when I move Garoppolo. Maybe I do it before the draft to a team like Washington. Chicago, or maybe we play Garoppolo, six or seven games. Cross your fingers on his health. We're 5 and 1. We're 6 and 0. 5 and 1, and I can move him.

Donald got three picks. If he's 6 and 1 looks good and is healthy, people forget a lot of stuff in this league. People forget a lot of stuff in this league. So I'm going to do a mock draft and Joel Clatt top of next hour. The win now thing, it's starting to make sense. It's starting to make sense. Trevor Lawrence Jags, Zach Wilson Jets, Mack Jones Niners. It's not necessarily what I do.

But my job is to sort through all this information and say, sometimes my job is just say, here's what they're doing and this is why they're doing it. Doesn't mean I would do it, but this is why they're doing it. Now you see those quotes, you can kind of figure out why they're doing it. Trade Garoppolo, get some of those picks back. Very exciting. And Joy, nodded off during that. She's a little tired.

Okay, we got a lot today. Albert Breer, the latest rumors. The draft now feels like it starts with Atlanta at number four. What are they going to do? They got a lot of options. Did this, these quotes now, Mack Jones are the Niners. I'm going to do a mock draft. It's starting to come together.

I love the draft so much. I mean, seriously, I love it so much. And we've got so many moving parts. We're going to have trades in the top 10. So James Harden suffered a setback in his rehab, but he's out indefinitely, which is, I thought the whole thing was a ruse. So apparently he did have a sore hamstring. It's a setback.

They don't know what he's going to play. He'll play in the playoffs, they're not sure. It is remarkable, though. He will have played so far this year. He's played more games with the Rockets, 8, than he has with KD and Kyrie 7. Good luck with that chemistry in the playoffs. Very difficult to solve your issues or create chemistry against the best teams. All super teams, when you have three of the top four offensive players in the league, it's a super team.

They've all got a little villain in them. And I like villains. I'm four super teams. And I find them all likable. Nobody wanted to admit it, but a lot of us were rooting for the Miami Heat. I wanted to see LeBron win a title. They were fun. I love D-Waid.

This team, this super team, this villain, I want to see him die on the screen. I'll be honest with you. I don't find them at all likable. So you go back to Miami. Let's be honest about it. Everybody likes D. Wade. He's one of the most likable guys, small school, worked his butt off, likable. Chris Bosch, we all felt honestly, didn't we all feel like he was wasting his time in Canada?

And then LeBron, believe it or not, his press conference didn't have all of us. Half the country maybe. I was rooting for Miami. I stayed up and watched every playoff game over Miami. They were the Shaq and Kobe 15 years later. They were fascinating. Golden State. Well, they were built through the draft. They won a title without KD. Steph and Clay were overlooked by teams. Dremont was overlooked. They were built through the draft. And then they won another two titles adding KD. But they also had sort of a best team ever argument. We always like history. You like history, I like history. It's like Kansas City, Mahomes.

Are we watching histories? The most talented quarterback ever. We all kind of fall for that. The San Antonio dynasty. It wasn't unlikable. It was just boring. It wasn't unlikable. Shaq and Kobe.

It was the two best closers in the NBA have never played on the same team. They did. It was the great young center and the next MJ. Don't tell me you didn't like the Lakers. That was a fascinating dynasty. this isn't this isn't likable what's likable about this first of all they're all bailers basically james hardin quit on houston he bailed kairie quit on lebron and brad stevens uh uh kd i support i support leaving westbrook totally do i mean westbrook is just lives in a tunnel and the organization

was babying westbrook i got him leaving westbrook i got him leaving westbrook i'm leaving Westbrook, KD. But leaving Golden State, good God, it was the most supportive place he could have been. The owner was sliding him into tech investments. The coach, the GM, Steph is the most selfless star in my life. And I'm a supporter of bailing. Anthony Davis, New Orleans. I got it.

It was time. LeBron twice in Cleveland. I get it. Go. Matt Stafford Lions. I get bailing. But these guys bailed pretty good situations. I don't find them remote.

likeable. None of them have ever really been culture setters. They've been almost, if not agnostic toward that kind of culture imploders. I mean, James Harden had Chris Paul. Chris Paul makes everybody better. Couldn't get along with him. Oh, he's best friends with Westbrook. Couldn't get along with him. Kevin Durant couldn't get along with Steph. How? So, you know, I look at this villain and I don't, And I'll tell you, a lot of those Eastern teams they play with, I think match up really well with them. They have no answer for Joel Embed, or Janice. I'll be honest with you. The way the Knicks play defense, I think they'd be a little bit of a pain in the butt because the Knicks have one thing, chemistry.

The Knicks have great chemistry right now. So it's just, when I look at this now, I look at this team, they're starting to really remind me of the Phoenix Sons with Nash. They're just built for the part of the NBA season that nobody ever talks about 10 years from now. Joy Taylor with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news.

Oh, this draft is going to be interesting. So we have just over a week to go before the draft and we could be seeing a lot more movement up and down the board. What do you got for me? The Panthers and number eight have reportedly had conversations with other teams about trading down, and the Giants at 11 are internally considering whether they should move out of their spot and drop down as well. So Panthers at 8, Giants at 11, and the Dolphins are also taking calls for the sixth pick. Obviously, we know that the Falcons are at least in the conversation

about possibly moving. Dave Gelman has never traded down in first in eight drafts as a GF. That's not getting... The Giants, and here's the other thing. The Giants solved a lot. lot of their issues. The Giants, I don't think, and I'm a big believer in moving down in the draft, but what the Giants need is a guy that could play anywhere on the interior of the O line or right tackle, and that's Elijah Vera Tucker, and 11 is the perfect spot for him. The Panthers, I'll throw this at you, Joy.

I think the Panthers may wait till draft day. So let's say you're the Panthers, and just because the way the draft works, neither of the tackles, Penae, Sewell, or Slater gets drafted. And you sit yourself and think, we can move down three spots and get them. I think Carolina, I would move down, you know how this draft is going to be. If Atlanta takes Trey Lance and then Denver moves up, five of the first seven picks could be quarterbacks. So then, you know, Jamar Chase is going to go next to Kyle Pitts.

So I can see Carolina on draft day just saying, we're going to watch how this thing unfolds. And if Atlanta goes quarterback or Kyle Pitts, that means you're the, you're the the first four picks and you have both great O linemen. Then I could see them moving down. Assuming Mack Jones goes through the 49ers, which we're hearing more and more of, if you look at just the top 10, it's really going to, it's going to depend, I think, on draft day, whether these teams move around or not. Like the pre-draft moves, I feel like might be done.

And to your points, the draft really starts with Atlanta. Like if it's Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Atlanta is very, you know, where the draft actually starts because if they go quarterback or Kyle Pitts or trade out of that spot, that has a ripple effect for the rest of the first round. So that's probably why the Giants are in that conversation, why the dolphins are in that conversation because they want it to be known like, hey, we're flexible on draft day too. Give us a call and be ready with an offer if you're trying to move up. If say Trey Lance or Justin Fields slip, Atlanta doesn't make that move. We know Cincinnati's going to stay firm at that fifth pick and probably take an offensive

lineman, although they could. Oh, they could. Take Kyle Pitts. Atlanta now runs the draft. Now, you know, I would take Kyle Pitts or get a boatload of picks. I would not take a quarterback. But I, listen, when you talk to NFL people, they all say the same thing. Trey Lance's ceiling is insane.

Just don't play them. It's just so high. It's so high to take a quarterback and not playing it for two years. I know. In a city like Atlanta. I get it. I think you can do that in Buffalo. I don't think you can do that in Atlanta.

I also think you can do it if Trey Lance is the 23rd pick. It's really hard to, number four pick doesn't play for two years. Really hard to sell to a big market. I don't think you can. So Baker Mayfield and you're paying Matt Ryan so much money. Baker Mayfield and Kevin Sifansky lead the Browns to their first playoff win in 26 years in their first season together. And Sopansky is expecting another big jump from his quarterback in year two. I hope it's significantly better.

I hope as he starts to listen to the installs with AVP, you're hearing it for the, not the second time. I mean, he's heard these plays over and over and again. He tried to adjust what we do based on his strengths, our player's strengths. So I would hope he's much more comfortable from that perspective. I think Baker, as we've talked about, is somebody that constantly wants to get better. I think Baker came into his own last year. I think the Browns finally established a culture and I think they made a lot of really good moves this offseason

on paper, which usually is not a good term to associate with your team because generally those don't work out. But on paper, they have one of the top rosters in the league. No question. Definitely put them up there with the Chiefs. You can put them up there with the Bucks. You can put it up there with the Rams. They have a great roster.

And Baker's kind of, He's kind of playing for his contract in his future with Cleveland's this year. I think that they should win multiple playoff games this year. Listen, I contend, I told you, I've made two huge bets since we've been working together. Clemson, Ohio State. Clemson, Ohio State, Clemson Underdog, I took him. And Green Bay Houston last year, Green Bay came off a humiliating loss. The number was like minus four at Houston, and I threw a ton of money on it. Cleveland, Fox Bet has Cleveland at 9 and a half wins.

We've moved to 17 games. Yeah, and they're 11 and 5 last year. So I'm going to say Cleveland, all Cleveland has to do with the best O line in the game is go 10 and 7 with who I think is a highly functional coach. It is the easiest odd. It is the ease. Now, now, the schedule could, we talked about this last week. The schedule's got really some potholes.

Like if they give you Kansas City in the first. two weeks in New England later and Green Bay later on the road, then you get real close to the 10 number. But if Kansas City is late in the schedule, New England's early, this is a 12-5 team. I don't see how you don't improve from last year. And the Steelers are running it back with Ben Roblesberger. We don't know what Burroughs going to come back with to work with. We know what he's capable of, but what's the Cincinnati going to do and put in place for him. We don't know if his coach is the right coach either. And the Ravens have been like relatively quiet. So I think it's the Brown's division to win.

So James Winston is heading towards a quarterback competition with Taysam Hill to be the St. Starr to next season. He was at a youth football camp recently. And you know, James Winston's speeches are generally pretty interesting. I just say the least. Yeah. But I like this speech that he gave to the kids at the camp. I'm from being the number one drive to being terrible to laugh at me.

But guess what? I'm about that business. I'm outworking everybody at my position. I'm doing things every single day. Commence to the dream. Because that's the thing. We have to go back to being little kids about this football game. Because this is a kid's game that men play.

I love camp speeches. Yeah, listen, the best thing about James is he changed his body, which is harder than anything. That's like committing to not eating this and eating that and working out. He totally looks like he's changed his body. so it tells me he's made a commitment. And he had surgery. He wasn't able to see.

I also find James easier to root for. I mean, his mistakes are kind of immature. His NFL mistakes have just been kind of a goofy kid. He's not a bad guy. I really think he wants to succeed. I really think he wants to win. I really do. I just think sometimes he couldn't overcome himself.

Right. He wasn't ready to quite be the guy at 22. Is he at 26? I think there's a real high potential for it. I didn't love Marriota or James Winston coming into the draft. I didn't think Marriota had NFL starting level skills and he was okay. And I thought James was way immature. And like intangible wise, I just, I did not think he was ready.

The opposite of DAC, talent, but like five years. We always knew they both have talent, but like how is that going to translate to the NFL? Marietta underachieved and James obviously had immaturity issues. He has high talent potential, but also high mistake potential. as we know, throwing 30 interceptions in his last year with the Bucks. But he did say he was basically going to quarterback university with Drew Brees and Sean Payton, and he was a starter for five years with the Bucs. I don't see how he doesn't win this job for the Saints next year.

I know Taysam said he's training and he shifted to becoming a full-time quarterback. But he started four games for the Saints, and James Winston's five-year starter for the Bucks. Now, was he top level? No, but we saw what the high end of his potential is. If you could cut its interceptions and half, what is the potential that you have there? I just think you have to leave room for growth with people. Yes. You know, we are very quick as a society to not give second chances,

even though we've all received second chances and third chances and so on and so forth. I like what I'm seeing from James. You see that he is actually putting in a significant effort, and maybe just a new environment was what he needed. Well, also a new environment, but more of the great offensive coaches of our lifetime. And learning from Drew Breeze, who everyone is. impacted by when they play with him. We all know that where you land matters to rookie quarterbacks.

It probably matters to guys getting a second chance. Yeah. And Sean Payton's a good guy to have. All right, Joy with the news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by. The Hurdline News. Well, I told you, the article in the athletic from Bruce Feldman, it's really good. And I've been such a doubter on Mack Jones to San Francisco. But boy, does it feel like that's going to happen? multiple scouts, multiple evaluators saying, listen, we don't know about his physical traits,

but between Saban NFL, Sark NFL, NFL receivers, NFL system, NFL defense is SEC, he's ready to win now. And Kyle Shanahan, four years, one winning season, he doesn't want to develop Trey Lance. He wants to win now. So that is really an interesting article. I strongly, you know, go to the athletic, buy a subscription. It's not that expensive.

I get it now I get where in Shanahan's world he's saying I'm beating Sean McVey with backups the only year I had a healthy quarterback I made the Super Bowl just get me a kid that's ready to play now I'll worry about sealing later I don't know if you've read the article

but it did make me feel this morning like Mac to the Niners feels more solid? Your thoughts? Yeah, I mean, I think Mac was the starting point for the Niners. And the quarterback that Kyle Shanahan could say when they made the trade, I think it was March 29th. I feel comfortable that this could be my guy for the next 15 years. And the way their process worked was that's the starting point. They were intrigued by Justin Fields. They were intrigued by Trey Lance. And at least being at three, they could then control the process. They wouldn't have to hide their interest in the quarterbacks from anybody. They get set up these extra pro days.

And so coming out of Trail Lent's second pro day on Monday, they resolved, we're going to spend Tuesday, we're going to spend Wednesday, we're going to spend Thursday finalizing the decision. So that's where they are right now. And I'm with you, Colin. There are certain things about Mack Jones that I think really do fit Kyle Shanahan. And the primary thing is how fast he sees it and how well he retains information. And I'll give you a good story.

There's a team that's drafting the top half of the first. round that's met with him a few times. And they first installed with him, I think it was a little over two months ago. Okay. And they were in a meeting with him the other day. And one of the people in that meeting said, tell us what the first thing we installed with you was. Not the first package, the first play. And this, again, is over two months ago. These guys have met with tons of teams. These guys have done tons of media. These guys have been getting ready for the workouts. Mack Jones spit it right out. And those are the sorts of stories. that you hear, you know, on truly great quarterbacks, you know. And I'm not saying that,

you know, that automatically means he's going to make it. But I do think that there's that element of what Mack Jones is as a player that really fits. And I can tell you just beyond that, and again, I really think the Niners continue to be intrigued by, by Trey Lance and Justin Fields and feel those guys are worthy of the pick. The other thing I think you have to look at is some of Kyle Shanahan and the Niners frustration with Jimmy Garoppolo over the last few years. It's not just the injuries. It's also that sometimes he freelances too much. They really believe that that offense gives the quarterback all the answers he needs.

And this is a guy who can find the answers. And so I think for those reasons, Mac Jones really does fit the Niners. And I think right now, what is it, eight days out, he's the leader in the clubhouse to go third overall. So if we know the first three teams are quarterback, the draft really starts with Atlanta at four. And now, listen. Arthur Smith may lobby for Kyle Pitts or Jamar Chase. Like, I don't, I'd get that. But if Denver is Denver's the only team that really, really needs a quarterback now from

4 to 12, like now, because they're bailing on Drew Locke. Atlanta's got Matt Ryan. They're paying him a lot. And he's very good, regardless of what some of the things I've said before. He's a good quarterback. He got to a Super Bowl. So my guess is if Denver likes Trey Lance and Johnson, Justin Fields the same.

There is no urgency to give up multiple picks for four. Just sit and wait and watch what Atlanta does. And if Atlanta takes one of them, then you move up and call the Bengals. Bengals aren't going to take a quarterback. So this leads me to Atlanta controls

the draft, your gut feeling today on what they're going to do. I think it's Kyle Pitts. And I'm a subject to change my mind after I make a couple dozen more calls in two days. maybe I'll think something else. As of right now, I think Kyle Pitts would be the leader to be the fourth overall pick.

A couple of reasons why. Number one, Terry Fonton knows their new general manager has done some interesting relationship building with Matt Ryan over the last couple of months. So I think you can ask the question, would he be doing those sorts of things if he was planning on moving on from Matt Ryan 10 months from now? The second piece is how they renegotiated the contract. And that made it more difficult, not just to move on from Matt Ryan. Ryan now. It made it more difficult for them to move on from Matt Ryan a year from now. Yes. And so I think you look at some of the things that Atlanta does and some of the actions of Terry Font and other general manager, they tell you they're comfortable with Matt Ryan as their

quarterback. And here's the other thing. Look at the offense as it stands right now. They have three former first round picks on the offensive line. They have Julio Jones. They have Calvin Ridley. They need a running back, but you can take care of that, right? What happens if you drop Kyle Pitts into that mix. And now let's look at Arthur Smith's background. It's in coaching tight ends. In Tennessee, he had John Hussmith. He had FERC. They were always strong at that position there. And so there's a lot of reason to believe that the Atlanta Falcons would take Kyle Pitts forth overall. Now, maybe one of the quarterbacks they're in love with, that quarterback falls in their lap and they can't pass them up. But if you look at their actions over the last three months, there's a lot of reason to believe that

Kyle Pitts would be their guy. And here's one other thing, Colin. The asking price when teams have talked to them is sky high to the point where some of those teams are saying, do they really want to move this pick? And so I just think that there's a lot of things to connect Kyle Pitts in Atlanta right now. Maybe I'll feel differently in a few days, but that's just where I'm at with it right now. Very interesting. Albert Breyer this morning, I'm reading this.

NFL teams didn't get athletic testing numbers from the Indy Medical Combine, but they did get measurements. Finally, we have it with wide receiver Devante Smith on a scale per sources. The Heisman winner, 6 feet and 166 pounds. Okay. I got to tell you, there's so many good receivers at the high end of this draft. my gut feeling is these quarterbacks are not going to drop. Right. One of these wide receivers is going to drop because there's not that many teams that have to have a wide receiver.

There are so many now. I'm going to throw this out there. This is the guy that drops in the first round. Your thoughts. I think it's definitely plausible. Jamar Chase to me is rare. You know, and I've had more than one team say to me that they believe that he is like a, you know, a couple of guys like,

this come along every five years type of prospect of receiver. Justin Jefferson was the offensive rookie of the year last year for the Vikings, right? He was the only guy to take offensive rookie of the year votes away from Justin Herbert last year with the Vikings. He was number two to Jamar Chase. So I think Chase is number one. Jalen Wallet, because of his explosiveness, I think, is going to be number two. Everybody's looking for that Tyree kill type.

And that brings you to Devante Smith. And here's an interesting fact for you, Colin. Go over to the last decade, 10 drafts, okay? there have been two players at that position who are under 6 foot 1 and 200 pounds who have gone in the top 10. Tavon Austin and John Ross. That's it. And so there's not a lot of great history of taking one that high. And I'm not saying Devante Smith can't make it.

He's a fantastic player, an outlier for a guy his size, no question about it. But I think there are a lot of teams that are going to be sitting up there and they're going to be looking at the three corners. They're going to be looking at the two tackles. They're going to be looking at the quarterbacks. And they're going to just say to themselves, we're better. off waiting for a receiver in a draft that's deep at that position. Yes. Until the second or third round and filling another need here.

Such good stuff. Albert Breyer, Monday morning quarterback. I cannot wait for the draft. Honestly, I'm going to call the commissioner. Can we move it up? We're almost there. We're almost there. Albert, thank you so much.

I'm not saying take it to the bank because you can't take any mock draft of the bank, but I do feel we're getting much, much closer to obvious stuff. So I've said this before. You know this.

What I'm about to tell you, you know this. We all know what I'm about to say. At least one of these quarterbacks is going to bust. Nobody likes to call it. The kid may be watching this show or see it on YouTube, right? I don't like to call it. But we all know that of the five taken, the precedent is there's never been four for four or it's never happened ever. One of them is going to be a star.

You know, I think it's Trevor Lawrence. One or two will have more success because of where they land. One's just a bust and one lands. One's good, but lands somewhere and he can't overcome it. So the Zach Wilson to me is the bust for so many reasons that seem obvious. Number one, Robert Sala is a rookie head coach in a division with three established excellent coaches. So even if Robert Sala succeeds for the first three years of Zach Wilson's career, he's not going to be better than Sean McDermott and Billaichick,

and I doubt he's better than Brian Flores, who won 10 games with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tua. So you've got the fourth best head coach. I can argue it's the worst ownership situation. It is easily the worst offensive line. That's not great. The quotes from these, you start reading the quotes from this athletic article, everybody says the same thing. I mean, they're all saying the same thing.

Big concerns, huge risk. You don't see him in a tight pocket at BYU. Our league's a tight pocket league. He's not the biggest guy. I've talked about this. He's slender looking with a battle. line in a great defensive division. When he's good, he's good, he's bad, he's really bad.

Right now, Zach's playing right away in that market and his play style, woof. That'd make me really nervous. So, you know, this to me is the guy that I, and by the way, when you read all these things they say about him, he sounds just like a smaller Sam Darnold. Huge mistakes. Love is athletic ability. So the way I look at it is when I say a guy hits.

when a quarterback hits, it means essentially, this is what it means. It doesn't mean winning a Super Bowl. It means do you get a second big contract? If Baker Mayfield gets that second contract, he's a hit. He's a hit. You're either a hit or a miss. If you don't get a second contract, you're a miss. And so what are the percentages based on where you land, what your town is, what's the ownership of hitting?

Here's my percentages. Trevor Lawrence is a 90% hit. He gets a big second contract. I put 90% he could get hurt. Urban Meyer could not like pro football and leave. This organization doesn't have a history of great moves. I think Trevor's a 90%. Zach Wilson to me is about 15%.

I think there's so many things he has to overcome. Ownership, O-line, rookie head coach, great defensive division. It's just a messy organization. Mack Jones. Now, I know what you're saying. You're saying, Colin, you don't like Mac Jones. No, but I think there's about 60% chance he gets a second contract because it's going to be hard to move off a guy winning.

10 games a year or 11 with that offense. And also, Kirk Cousins got a second big contract. It's hard to move off winning. It's hard. I think Trey Lance, to me, is a 70% hit, and that's because you'll see my mock draft coming up top of the hour where he lands. And then Justin Fields, to me, is not great enough. He's not a prodigy to overcome a bad organization.

And today, I have no idea where he's landing. Now, I may think better of Justin Fields. I like him. I think he's a great talent. He ends up with a goofy organization. You don't know what you're getting. Justin Fields, to me, is, can we watch the draft and then I can have a Justin Fields opinion? I just don't know where he's going. So I'm going to do a mock draft, and I feel so great about this.

And Joel Claddle tear it apart, whatever, but I feel great about this. I think we're getting really close to knowing what in the heck's going on. In fact, I think there's a trade situation that's becoming increasingly obvious. And it's not Denver. It is not Denver. Hour two, Joel Kla, Bill Romanooski, it's the herd.
