We are loaded today. One of my favorites,

Antoine Walker, showing up in five minutes, live in L.A. It's the herd, wherever you may be, and however you may be listening. IHeart Radio, Fox Sports Radio,

and FS1. You know, you've got to treat people differently because people are different, right? Like, we've all got somebody in the family joy that's a little more sensitive. Yeah.

And so you just, you kind of watch your words more carefully around the sensitive, person in the family. There are some people you can poke in the ribs and they laugh at themselves and some people don't like to laugh at themselves. And that's just how people are, right? Right. Everyone has a different personality, different sensitivities. I do think that once you know someone, you should be good at... You should be respectful of the knowledge of that person that you have and treat them accordingly. I tend to be pretty low maintenance. I can, you know, say what you want to me.

I don't care. But not everybody's like that. Like some people are very sensitive. and the Aaron Rogers thing, we've often compared Aaron Rogers to Kevin Durant. We've said Brady and LeBron are like uniquely aspirational, uniquely into their bodies, like can play forever.

Aaron Rogers is more Kevin Durant where you always feel like he's got one foot in, one foot out. He's a little bit of a, he's a unique personality, little defensive at times, uh, fires back.

at media. Aaron fires back at media. Kevin fires back at media. Brady mostly ignores media. I mean, he really just, you know, Steph ignores media. Harden mostly ignores media. So, you know, it's funny that Aaron wants to be treated a certain way and Kevin Durant wanted to be treated a certain way. And Kevin didn't like the way Steph Curry was treated in Golden State. He felt Steph was treated better than Kevin was. So Bob Myers was the GM and he was. And he once made this comment about Steph Curry at a press conference. And then I heard you tell Kevin Durant he can have whatever contract he wants next year. Yeah, that was just for the media. He can't have anything.

Lucky enough to kind of fall into a player like that in my position. I think you owe it to them to try to win, right? Those people don't come along too often with that kind of talent that he obviously has. So it's something we're constantly looking at, Anthony, and certainly we'll try and do. We want to win. So what he's basically saying is guys like Steph don't show up very often. That's the press conference, not the first one. That's the press conference. So when you get him, you got to treat them well. And Aaron's thinking you've got to treat me well.

But then let's play the other soundbite. Bob Myers also said this at a championship celebration in front of Kevin Durant, and it did not play well. And then I heard you tell Kevin Durant he can have whatever contract he wants next year. Yeah, that was just for the media. He can't have anything like that at all. level. Yeah, mid-level, behind closed doors.

Because I think last year he told Steph he could have any contract he wants too. So, well, yeah, that was different. He's been here from the run, you know, the way before days. He's earned it. Ooh. Yeah, it didn't really go over that well. And by the way, Kevin Durant laughed, but did you notice the reaction from everybody else? Ooh, I wouldn't have said that.

Ooh, that's kind of harsh. because everybody kind of knows Kevin's different. Kevin's personality is different. You have to know. Bob Myers probably shouldn't crack that joke. Got to know the temperature in the room. So the whole, and by the way, I have a good source inside the Warriors. They were walking on eggshells with Kevin Durant the whole time.

They knew it. They got tired of it. They were exhausted by it. But they won championships with it. But they always knew this was Kevin Durant's personality. You had to kind of walk on eggshells with Kevin Durant. He was offended by Draymond. He'd be offended by Kerr.

he'd be offended by the media, he'd be offended by Bob Myers. That was his personality. And eventually, the Warriors just, you know, they kind of, they were exhausted from dealing with it. I think Green Bay is a little exhausted of Aaron Rogers. And I'm not saying that Bob Myers should have said that. And I'm not saying the Packers aren't at fault. But I do think Kevin Durant is a lot.

He is, he's a lot. You know, Steph is just, come home, hang fam, go to game, go or go home. He's just very, very low maintenance. Steph Curry is about as low maintenance as you can get as a superstar. He's got a very happy family. He's got businesses. He doesn't need to be monitored or you're not babysitting.

Never. Kevin Durant's, there's a lot more going on with Kevin Durant. And I think with Aaron Rogers, Brady, not a lot of babysitting. He's got a very big robust family. He's got a robust business. Not a lot of babysitting with Tom. With Aaron, there is a little bit of a walking on eggshells thing. I do think, and I'm not saying the Packers have done a great job with this,

but I do think with Aaron and KD, it's a lot. And I've said this before. I can't, one of my only rules in this business is, you know, my guest bookers, just bring on people who are good, they're verbal, they can talk, they can handle it. Don't bring on a lot of people under 25 years old and put them on a national show. They're not ready for it. It's too much. Like, give me guests who have talked on show.

shows before and they can spar with me and give me crap. I wouldn't be great dealing with Aaron or Kevin's personality. I wouldn't as a GM. I'd be poor. I'd be like, get over it. Like that one of my kids is a little more sensitive. I'm like, you're not a victim. Let's go. It doesn't work all the time. So I know that I am not capable of dealing with somebody who's super sensitive. I'm too blunt. I'm too harsh. I'm too direct. I would struggle. So therefore, if I was in Green Bay, after 16 years of Aaron, I'd be worn out. I'd be like, get over it. We're not going to tell you everything. I in San Francisco would have been worn out from KD. I'd be like, you're a grownup. You have 150 million bucks. Get over it. We don't have to babysit player. Steph. I don't want to

babysit you. But then you lose them. Then you lose a KD. And then you lose an Aaron Rogers. So it's a game you have to play. And to be a general manager, you've got to be capable of dealing with a bunch of different personalities. And Golden State just didn't want to deal with Katie anymore and he left. And I think Green Bay is tired of dealing with Aaron Rogers. And he's about to leave. Let's bring on Antoine Walker, 12 years in the NBA, a champion Celtics, heat, maves, a lot of teams joining us now live. Three-time All-Star.

By the way, you know, we watch the Russell Westbrook stuff and, you know, fans can be jerks. You played for years and years on championship teams. You played in Boston in Miami, especially Boston. That's an intense sports environment. Antoine, did you ever have to deal with unruly fans? And if so, how'd you handle them? You definitely had to deal with it. Philly is one of those places where you had to deal with unruly fans

and you had to be prepared for them to talk trash to say things that are going to be disrespectful. But you've got to have thick skin. I would say there, maybe in New York as well. And then I played in Boston where fans are really tough too. And I've heard fans give other players other teams a tough time. It's difficult, but you can't cross the line. I don't think you can accept someone throwing popcorn, someone hitting you, throwing you with anything. But you should be able to say what you want to say.

I know some things are going to be offensive, but this talking part doesn't bother me. But when you start to throw things at me and that thing, I have to respond to that. And so I understood why Westbrook wanted to respond. It's unfortunate that fans are like that. But it's part of the game. But this makes the game great is the fans being able to go out and give guys stuff. It's a different playoffs. It's a different thing now when you see the fans back in the arena now.

So I think all this stuff plays a part. But for some odd reason, it happens to Restbrook a little bit more than others. Okay. So the Clippers lost both their home games. That series feels over to me. You know, it's interesting, Antoine. You know, I said this yesterday. is that nobody ever loves the clippers.

So when Paul George and Kauai both loved them, showed them love, they just said, get over here, we'll take you. I don't think they considered the leadership stuff. They just finally two really good players wanted to be clippers, and they were like, come on board. The Lakers have been successful forever. A lot of people want to play for the Lakers, but they tend to choose the right superstar who can be great and lead at the same time.

And I look at the clippers, and I'm like, I know they have talent. Who's the leader? That's what I see. What do you see when you look at this team that's kind of falling apart? Well, obviously, there's no lead on the team because if it was a lead on the team, one of them would step up and guard Luca. When you think about this, he's dominated them now going on two years in a row.

And you've got two guys that are making the most money and two guys that are most impactful players. Neither one of those guys are stepping up and taking the leadership role and saying I'm going to guard. I cut from an era of older players and watching Michael and Scotty and living in Chicago where those guys took the responsibility of guarding the best player on the floor. So it's disheartening to see those guys not step up and take their responsibility. You got Patrick Beverly, you got Rondo, you got Reggie Jackson, these guys trying to guard Luca, and he's having the field day with them. When is Paul George and Coahuillan are going to step up?

Or even more so, when is T. Liu and that coach's staff going to make them guys, one of those guys, guardian him consistently or take turns a guy that handles the ball so much. So I'm disappointed in what I'm seeing for those two stars. And Lucas having his way and having the field day and has a great chance of winning this series now. You know, it's interesting. Lakers tonight will host the Sons. I do like the Lakers tonight because I don't think Phoenix can beat L.A. many times

with a 50% Chris Paul. I think if Chris is healthy, it's a different series, I like the Lakers. but it's interesting with Anthony Davis is that unlike a lot of great players who are self-motivated, I always feel with AD he's got to be kind of pushed. You know, like he played great in game two because everybody called him soft after game one. And, you know, I mean, you played with a lot of great players. How many of them are self-motivated and how many of them are like AD, you kind of get, you know, some nights they're in the mood and some nights they're not.

Well, some guys got to play with a LeBron James. They got to play with, you know, big-time superstars because they cannot handle their responsibility. I think with AD, if you really look at it, he had a championship hangover. He didn't come into the season in the best shape. He ended up getting an injury that kept him out for a while. And he's behind the eight ball. And you can see that in his play.

Even when he came back at the end of the season, he was just not the same. As the Lakers continue to grow in his playoffs, he'll get better. His performances will get better. And now he understands the work that you need to put in consistently to be at this level. You're a championship. You're a championship level. LeBron James is trying to win nothing but championships over these next couple years. And AD now he understands that.

It's just a little championship angle. I think he understands it. The game one, after getting his butt kick, he bounced back in game two. And I look for him to continually get better and better as the playoffs goes along. By the way, Brooklyn's going to beat the Celtics. That's understood. we know, especially without Jalen Brown. But before the playoffs started, they weren't very good this year.

And they regressed. What are you doing, Boston? I think you've got to change coaches. They've had Brad Stevens now for several years. And the players have gotten better. I look at Jason Taylor and J.C. Taylor have gotten better under him, Markets Smart. But they need a new voice in the locker room, I think, for them.

And they also have to improve the roster. They didn't have much of a bench. They had a great starting five or great five or six guys, but the bench was not improved. When you look at the Eastern Conference, when you think about Milwaukee and Brooklyn and obviously Philly, those teams are eight, nine, ten-man rotations. The Celtors are not eight, nine, ten-man rotation.

So the roster has to get better, and I think, you know, you've got to change coaches now. I think you've got to do what Philly did. You think about it. Doc Rivers came in, Darryomari. You've got to start the top. You may have to think about removing Danny Hanks from being the GM. I think that's what Boston needs.

They need a new makeover because you've got talent. You've got two all-star force that are young, they're in their prime. Kimball Walker's obviously took a few steps back because of the injury, but you still have a really, really good roster that you just need to improve the bench. So you may have to get a little makeover right now, and that may be at the gym and the head coach. For the record, the Knicks got a bunch of cast-offs from a bunch of other teams. And I said they're easy to root for,

because they kind of buy in to Tibbs. I think they have an incredibly low ceiling. But did you ever plan a team like the Knicks where you didn't have a ton of offensive talent, but the team bought into each other and just won games? You didn't think he had as much talent as the other team? I would say our 2002 team in Boston when we went to the Eastern Conference Finals. We didn't have a lot of spire power besides me and Paul. And we bought into Jim O'Brien's system when we played really,

you well together and had a legitimate shot to get to the finals. I don't think the Knicks can get that far. The Easter conference is too tough. But I think what the Knicks did and what Tibbs has done, you got an all-star and Julius Rangler. You do need to add another all-star. Yeah. I think Derek Rose, I think Derek Rose has a couple more good years left than him.

You've got some good young pieces. And I think right now, Colin, the doors opened back up for a big-time free agent didn't want to go there. Yeah. Did you see those fans? The fans last night were incredible. I think when players start to see that, they want to be back a part of that. So I think this season got everybody back interested and some of the superstars thinking about,

hey, I may want to go to New York. So they're in a great spot right now. I think the series goes seven. They got a chance to win this series and advance in the second round. And it would be great to see them if they can advance to the second round. Antoine, always great to have you on the show. Let's make it happen more often. Thanks, bud.

All right, thank you. You bet. You know, it really is funny watching Derek Rose. You've got to give Derek Rose. it's a different game. It's like a different player. If he didn't have D. Rose in the back of his jersey, you wouldn't even know it's him. He was so vertical.

It was a lot of Westbrook, so vertical, so explosive, and he's had too many injuries. But the way he runs the break now, you know, he's always looking, you know, it's very difficult to ask somebody to go from a finisher to a complimentary piece. You have got to give Derek Rose a ton of credit here. I said when he first came out, I said, he's fun. run, but he's like 6-3 and not really a shooter. Now, I love his game. He passes well.

He defends as well as he can. He's really, when you watch him on the floor, he makes really good smart basketball plays. And he's accepted what he is. He's like, man, I'm not his vertical. I'm not the finisher. I think he even shoots the ball. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but he feels more comfortable shooting a jumper. So it's really interesting to watch Derek Rose.

I'll get into it later, but that whole Bryson DeShambo, Brooks Kepka thing and the Brady thing. So Brady and Phil Mickelson are going to play Aaron Rogers

and Bryson DeShambo in one of these all-star celebrity match. Remember they had the Peyton Manning Brady. And they're fun. And during the pandemic, they were really fun because it's all we had. It might as well been the NBA finals. So Brooks Kepka and Bronwyn,

Vice Neshambo, hate each other. And boy, you found out about it yesterday on the interweb. It's so good. It's not like fake animosity, like Connor McGregor. No, you can't fake that eye roll. That was like a, he put the neck into it. Oh, my God, so anon. He felt that in his soul.

It's different like Connor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather, need to pretend they hate each other to sell tickets. This wasn't selling anything. Brooks Kepka cannot stand. another golfing alpha, Bryson DeShambeau. They're both big alphas, good-looking, long-ball hitters. They probably, to be honest with you, they probably

battled, their agents battled for sponsors, right? And they're both very similar in that they're kind of arrogant, but Bryce and DeShambos way over the top. You know, the 16 egg omelets, he changed his body. He's almost, it's kind of cartoonish. I tend to be,

listen, after Tiger Woods, got hurt, golf ratings tanked. People don't watch golf. They watch superstars play golf. They don't watch golf. If you go look at golf ratings historically, they watch superstars in golf. They watch Greg Norman flail at the Masters. They watch Tiger Woods.

This weekend, 13 million people watch Phil Mickelson. Golf needs juice. Because Mickleson is 50 and tigers broken down. Golf needs juice. And Brooks Kepka and Bryce and DeShambo hate each other. that is a rivalry that you can't fake. When you start eye roll and when the guy walks past you, Brooks Kepra is sitting there.

And you're on camera. Like you know you are on, you are in the middle of an interview. It's not like somebody like caught him rolling his eyes and it was like on the low with their cell phone. Can we get the video of that? It was some like guy interviewing Brooks Kepka. DeShamo walks behind him and Brooks is like,

oh, can I start over? I lost my train of thought. Like when you really hate somebody when you can't even concentrate on like a standard answer to a question because a guy walks past you. It is so visceral and raw. And I'm here for it because, you know, golf tends to be joy. Golf tends to be very insular. It's a private club.

It's very clubby. And it can make people feel like outsiders. Yeah. I didn't grow up with money or a country club, right? So a lot of us feel like outsiders to golf. But when two alpha males who hit the ball 400 yards hate each other, that is totally relatable. That is no inside club. That is, that's the Phoenix Open.

That's the Ryder Cup. That's screaming and yelling at people. So you got these two alphas. They're not subtle. They don't play subtle golf. They don't have subtle personalities. They're over the top. A little more refined, I think, than John Daly, who is just kind of a mess.

I think Bryce and DeShambeau and Brooks aren't. They're just, but it's so public. It's the opposite of golf. It's not, it's angry. It's highly emotional. It's two alpha male. who have no problem hiding their emotions. There's nothing behind the velvet rope,

nothing clubby about it. It's just, here you go. Bud versus Miller and you're throwing cans at each other. And it's just so much energy. It's so great. Joy with the news. No, no, no, no, no. Turn on the news.

This is the herd line news. Tim Tebow is trying to revive his NFL career. This time is a tight end. Signing's obviously been very polarizing. But Trevor Lawrence is excited about what he's seen from Tebow so far. He looks great. You can tell he's just a guy that you want to be around. Character is awesome.

I just had a few conversations with them, and I can already tell. And then just a hard worker. No one's going to work harder than them. And those are the kind of guys you want in your locker room that you want to be around every day. And then I'm excited to see what he does on the field as well. We've got a few days and he looks great. He's in awesome shape. You know, I don't think he's going to work.

But I hope I'm wrong. And it's a great story. And we get books and movies and all kinds of great contents and it's wonderful for that area of the country and the fan base is ignited. And it's, they win all our games. Genuinely, I'm not being sarcastic. Like, great. This is great story.

I don't think it's going to work. I'm now irritated because the, we have not even gotten to, like, mandatory offseason training yet. And I already lost my bet. That's right. We had a bet on this. Wouldn't we bet a milkshake? No.

Why would we have been a milkshake? Jersey Mike's up. Oh, I'll take a number seven, thank you. I already won the bet. Yeah, because you said, remember we talked about, I was like they're not going to get to a point where they start talking about T. Bo's a quarterback. They're going to stick him in tight end.

It's Trevor Lawrence. He's sunshine. He is the greatest prospect we've seen since Andrew Luck. He is the untouchable. He is Thanos. And here we are. I mean, we're not even really, We're not even training camp, and we're already talking about...

You're like a walking fan duel. I can bet and win immediately. Honestly, like, I definitely thought that we... I didn't feel strong about it, but I thought it would at least be like in the season. You know, like maybe training camp. And we're already talking about him as a quarterback. I honestly, I feel bad for Trevor Lawrence because, you know, like, Crime Me River, whatever, number one overall pick, and he's going to make tons of money and have a great career.

But we're not even in training camp yet, and we're already talking about Tim Tebow. quarterback. But Gardner Minchew probably love that, yeah. Yeah, poor Gardner. Gardner Minchu loved that. Who, by the way, Gardner Minshu, as we've said before, he can actually play. If you go to Baker Mayfield's college numbers and Gardner Minchus, and Baker played with way better players, the exact same numbers.

And if you watch Gardner Minchew play, he looks a little like Baker. He's a little rough. Gardner is legit. If he doesn't stay there, he'll end up somewhere else's backup for sure. He could be a great, he could be a top. Five, six backup in the NFL, Gardner, Mitchell. No, and you could start him for three or four games. He can play.

Well, if nothing else, Jacksonville, will be very interesting. Yeah, that's right. So two ahead and up and down rookie season. The team has shown that they're committed to him moving forward. He said he's feeling more comfortable going into his second year, but he admitted he didn't have a full grasp of the offense last season. I wasn't comfortable calling plays. I think the guys that we had last year were phenomenal.

I just didn't have, you know, the comfortability of kind of, kind of checking plays, alerting plays and doing that. I just rode with the play, even if I knew it in a way that it wasn't going to work. I was going to try to make it work. I didn't actually know

the playbook necessarily really, really good. And that's on no one else's fault, you know, but my fault. I like that he's being transparent and I don't think that it's, I think if most of the rookie quarterback were out here and honest about if they had a full grasp of the offense in their first or second

year, they would honestly say no. It's very difficult position to play, and playbooks are hard to learn. This is quite a step up from college, and you're talking about you really need to know what everyone on the field is doing, where everyone is supposed to be, what your reads are, you're trying to read the defense. It's a lot. It's a huge step up in the game is much faster than it is in college, even if you're running a pro-style offense.

Again, this is why if Tua was healthy at the beginning. beginning of the year, why would you not have him out there? He needs more experience. And so now, and look, it doesn't translate to necessarily learning the playbook, but the more experience that you have, the more comfortable you're going to be. That's why I didn't like the back and forth with Fitzpatrick. We'll see how he is now. He says he's feeling more confident in his hip and he has a better grasp of the offense. You have a little conspiracy about why he's talking so much about it. Well, I think the last two days, Tua said he feels 10 times better and the playbook, I didn't know it. And I think some of this is because Aaron Rogers in the last

two or three days didn't show up to OTAs. And Miami's GM Chris Greer is a dealmaker. Yeah. And I think Chris Greer is one of the GMs that would get on the phone immediately and go, okay, I'm in a division with Belichick, Josh Allen, this highly talented Zach Wilson. And I got a small guy without a big gun that doesn't run real well. Let's make a deal for Aaron Rogers. So I do think, listen, if you had a boss, you and I had a boss, and the boss was a dealmaker.

And he was buying rights and selling rights and buying rights and selling rights and getting rid of on-air talent and hiring on-air talent. He was a dealmaker. Yeah. Like Chris Greer. And all of a sudden, one big talent was available on the market and didn't like his organization. And you're thinking, well, he does what I do.

And our GM makes deals all the time. And wouldn't you be a little anxious about your career? You'd call your agent and go, hey, what's going on? What do you hear about blank? I think the Tua camps like, I mean, that Aaron Rogers stuff in the last three days, when the receivers didn't show and Aaron didn't show? No, it's very obvious that they are very far apart. mile apart. That's when

Chris, and the GMs in the league can see they're a mile apart. That's when Chris Greer gets on the phone with Green Bay and says, what can we do? I think Tua's camp wants to put out some positive vibes. I feel better. I know the playbook can't wait for the year. The fan base is all in on Tua. Are they? Not that that's going to

be the decision factor, decision making factor, but yes, like similar to when this news came out that Aaron and, you know, had a rift with the front office and the Browns fans were talking about, we'll keep Baker over Aaron. Yeah.

Yeah. I mean, like, Dolphins fans are in on Tua. Okay. Well, they were in on the heat for this series against the box, too. So just say that. Slow, Colin. So the Clippers fell apart in the bubble last year.

Montrez-Harrell was one of the players that was reportedly an issue in the locker room. He's now with the Lakers and is clearly enjoying watching his old team struggle. After the Clippers went down 02 to the Mavs, he liked a tweet that said, They really said Montres Herald was the issue. Oh, boy. The Clippers. So a little Twitter petty wars. I don't like tweets.

That's like I don't. So if I ever like a tweet, it's just my dumb thumb, like scrolling as an accident. So I don't like tweets either. Yeah. Is that a- I don't like tweets because I don't want to like one day go back and decide I didn't like that tweet. You know what I mean?

Like some people like tweets just to save them for like content. I'll just screenshot. You know, I keep telling you, Joy, if you, use the filters. I have the filter. I don't see what people say to them anymore. I don't get, I just, I didn't want to deal with the nonsense. So it's fine. Maybe you don't have as many mean people because they still get through on mine. They do. And I have the filter on. Yeah. I mean, not as much as before. But I have way less like Fred's 7, 6, 4, 2, 1, 8s. But yeah. Yeah. They still managed to find the way through. Do you know I have a theory on that one? Somebody has a name and

nine numbers after their name? That they're a bot. They're not a bot. They're a real person. that was like a club. That was without saying that was you were a fan of Trump. You were a Trump supporter without. So that was kind of the code that was your name and nine random numbers. Because they're not bots because I've seen them. So instead of just putting like Fred is for MAGA, he just puts like his name. It's code word for I'm a MAGA.

Because by the way, everybody with that long name, long number thing. Yeah. They all are kind of the same opinion on politics. True. So that was my, it's not wrong. They usually have like a patriot in their bio. Yeah, like a flag, American flag. So that is like code for I'm in the club.

Not a terrible theory. It's not terrible. I don't know how, I don't know what that lifestyle is like. So I wouldn't know who to ask. I've never, I've honestly said this. I've never worn a red hat in my life. Sports or politics. I'm not a red hat guy.

You know what? We have a lot of the same. political views. I just, I personally feel like politicians work for us. Yeah, us, the people. Like, if you want my vote, I feel like you should be wearing a shirt with my face on it. Yeah, yeah. I have a herd hat. That's what you should be wearing. That's how I feel it should work. I don't talk about them a lot, but I saw on Twitter the name with nine numbers, it's just code for that's the side I'm on.

It's very consistent. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they all kind of say the same stuff. So I don't think they're bots because you see them communicate. I don't even know how the bot thing. Are they all from Russia? I don't understand it. I really don't know. Everyone said the same thing.

Like, if I ever respond to any of these things. Yeah. They'll be like, oh, like it's a bot. I'm like, but they do. How? Yeah. How smart can these bots be? Yeah.

How can some Russians? Because they manage to follow like different things and they're like clearly watching this game. They were tweeting about this game. I like your theory better. I think it's true. Well, I mean, Alexander in Lichtenberg, how would he know about, you know, the Carolina Panthers? It's what I'm saying. Yeah.

They can't be bots. They can't be dissidents from Russia. They could. This is random. Technology is very complex these days. I suppose they could come up with the program that would be able to do that. Like they just pick a couple of random teams. Yeah, my guess.

And years ago, you know, Meadow World was involved in a mess, the Brawl to Palace. And I can remember going on the air. I was at ESPN at the time in defending the players saying if I was like one of seven or

players in an arena and I'm looking around and people are throwing stuff at me, hey, I'd be scared. Like, that is, like you are sitting in the middle of an arena. And so I defended the players going after fans who were throwing crap at him. And got a lot of bad press. Probably wasn't great for the league. But I thought Meadow World Peace today would stop by. We want to talk about this for a second.

He's joining us live. So when you saw, when you see like a fan throwing popcorn on Westbrook, Does it make you mad knowing you've been to the same crap before? Well, you know, it just made me think about things. I didn't see something like that a long time, you know, and I saw Russell react, you know, for about four or five seconds. He was furious, you know, and then you see him gain control and just, you know, this is about one, two, three, four, five, you know, six, seven,

right now you see he's like chilling out now I was like okay just get the guy don't let him get away you know so I was proud of Russell man I was just like so proud of him the fan you know they just got to you know relax man like y'all tripping you know it's too much and

when I got suspended you know they never really showed a clip of when the actual cup was tossed from the stands they always show me running into the stands right so fans that's what they see. Meta World Peace ran into the stand, but they don't see, they never show, no outlets, no media ever show the cut. But I saw all the angles because we was in a courtroom.

And we saw every angle. They was trying to actually put us in jail for this. Like literally, the people in Detroit, Auburn Hills, actually. The judge was literally trying to want to give us jail time. You know, it's funny what people forgot, never got reported. Many of those Detroit fans, do you remember this meta? They had criminal records. They were like not, it's true. They went out and found who the fans were, and they were just troublemakers. They were just guys that wanted to be jerks.

When you got into that fight, was some of it, you were scared for your life here because you guys were the bad guys. It was an intense series. Was some of it just fear to protect yourself? Well, I'm never fearful. Like, you know, when you grow up where I'm from, you know, you play basketball. I mean, I remember playing basketball and then guys flashed a gun and saying, if you make the free throw, you know, we're going to shoot.

I knew they wasn't going to shoot because we had my friends and my friends was kind of packed up too. But I was never fearful, you know, I was just like, you know, when I went in there, I was just like, yo, why did you throw it at me? So the guy I hit, and you see, you see this right here. All they show is this. Fox. It's like that. Well, they show the stuff.

They show people throwing stuff at you. No, but they got to show the original. It looks like I just ran into the stands because the narrative is bad. There's no disrespect to any of the attitude. I'm just saying, like, I'm just saying from my perspective, this is all we see for years. This cup has been, but the guy who, when I went into the stands, everybody said that Medaro Peace attacked the fan who didn't throw the cup. Well, now everybody knows I'm friends with John Green, the guy who actually threw the cup.

The guy that I hit first, he bet John. Green $50 that he couldn't hit me with the cup. And how I noticed it's because me and John Green speak like once a month or maybe a couple times a week sometimes. You know, um, so I know what happened. And at that time, when that fan raised his hand, the only reason the fans going to raise their hand is because somebody hit a three or somebody got dunked on or something. Right.

When I seen him raise his hand, I'm like, oh, wow, he's happy because I got hit. So when I ran into that direction and I was like, really upset. Like, why did you hit me? He didn't hit me, but the guy who was protecting me from hitting the other guy that I was on, he was like, hey, you know, relax, you know, fight this, come on relax. I'm thinking he's like saying, just relax. And he stopped punching me in the face. That was John Green, the guy I'm cool with right now, right? But the other kid initiated the whole thing, $50 bet, you know, and it's like, I lost so much, but it's okay because I'm a warrior. I'm from the streets.

I don't really care, but, you know, I did lose a lot, you know, that date. My, my L.A. Gare deal was going. L.A. Gare did an ad a month before in Slam Magazine that had me stepping on fans and eating fans as a cartoon character. Right. Can you believe this? I was in an ad, and the thing happened, and then they dropped me. I'm like, you guys made an ad that I didn't draw it.

I can't draw. I didn't come up with this ad. eating fans and then they dropped me. So I'm like, okay, my college junior's commercial, gone, money gone, right? T&T commercial, gone. ESP commercial, gone, you know? That's another defensive player of the year, All-Star, another first team or second team all defense.

I was 13 before that came back averaging seven points more, you know what I'm saying? And still locking down. So with that being said, it's okay. I'm okay. but, you know, I'm just really happy that security was there for Westbrook, because Westbrook is a hell of an athlete. He could have easily ran away from that security. They can't catch him, you know?

What should we do to fans that do this? What do you believe we should do to fans? Your fans now are John Green, but what should we do to fans who do this? Doesn't, man, I mean, because, you know, I'm from the era where you fight and you make out. I had no issues with John. John hit me. I addressed it, and that was it.

I ain't got no issues. that some of my best friends be having fights and they make up in worse fights. So that's why I come from that era, you know, where you fight it out and then you make up, right? But in this situation, this is the reality of the situation. When the fans, when the players are playing basketball, they're there to entertain and they not only entertain it, they've really given you a piece of themselves every night. Yeah. You know what I'm saying?

Look at how Kobe played. Look how Westbrook plays. They've given you their all. every night, you know, and enjoy it. The talking is okay. I mean, I play in Detroit, Philly, Boston. I've heard all sorts of things. And I'm like, you know what, that's a part of the game.

You're trying to get me off the game by calling my mama a ho. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. Right. And right in my air, I had one fan in Detroit, get up in my air. And Detroit is tough, but they don't know. They didn't know me. So I gave this fan a pass.

But he was like, you mama's a hole, right? And I was like, okay, we, I'm going to take the ball out. I'm going to play. I'm going to be trying to win the game. That's, you know what, I was always cool with all that stuff. But when you start touching people, throwing stuff, right. Even though popcorn is not going to kill nobody.

We know popcorn ain't going to kill nobody. But it's just like you cannot, it's the ultimate form of disrespect. Right. Right. And that's the thing that, you know, Um, popcorn, yeah, it's light. But, you know, something has to happen. You know, um, I don't know if it's worth getting banned for life, but it's worth something.

Yeah. Happening. You know. Yeah. I always love bringing you on, Meta. You, you, you even tell me when people are disrespecting your mama. So I, that's why, that's why. By the way, he's a sports founder of X versus X.

But they say they do that so much. They start to convince themselves that they're tough. They're not tough. And then it turns into, you know, getting physical or throwing popcorn or throwing a cup.
