Ah, here we go. Our number two live in Los Angeles. This is the herd, wherever you may be, and however you may be listening. IHeart Radio, Fox Sports Radio, FS1. And Joy and I were talking about that Logan Paul fight before we get to Colin right, Colin wrong. Sunday night's a weird night for a fight anyway. And so Showtime had problems with their app and it was a mess. So I ended up going to another company and streaming it, watching it on a phone. It was kind of a mess. I will tell you, though, people tend to roll their eyes.

I grew up in an era of daredevils, evil-con-ebel. And so people kind of roll their eyes at Logan Paul and Jake Paul. But the bottom line, both of them take boxing seriously. Now, they're not gifted. They're not Ali. You know, they're not Mayweather. This is not what they are. But it really goes to show if you're invested in something and you go all in,

and even if you start it late in life, employers are looking for people who are all in. Every employer is looking for somebody. You know, you decide, I want to go into comedy writing and you start at like 42. but if you're committed to it, you can have a great career. And Logan Paul and Jake Paul, they're not naturally beautiful fighters, but Logan Paul can fight. Don't kid yourself.

He can fight. And Jake's better than Logan Paul. I said I'm shocked he was standing at the end of the night. He took some shots. That's Floyd Mayweather. I understand he's not a knockout fighter. I've watched many Floyd Mayweather fights. I'm aware.

He does knock people out, though. He has. And he punches. That's why he wins 50 fights and the other ones lose. Like he does still hit hard. Yeah. He's still a boxer and Logan Paul is not. Listen, I don't love it.

Okay. But he got in there. There's room in our lives. You know, it's almost like cryptocurrency. Like I'm not a huge investor in cryptocurrency. I do real estate, the market, whatever. I'm boring. But I do think there's room in life to put 1% on cryptocurrency.

Well, I have this unique ability. to understand that everything is not for me. That's right. Everything doesn't have to be for me. Yeah. I don't have to love it. People say this to me, nobody watches the NBA.

That's funny because my neighborhood does. And I see the numbers. It's like not everything's built for you. I am a little bit of a sucker on a big UFC fight. And I am never disciplined. I buy it the second before it starts. So I probably pay the most money. There's probably smart people out there that buy it months in advance.

Here's how I buy UFC fight. six of them, seven of them a year. Oh, it's Saturday night, I'm sitting home. Boom, I'm watching it. So I spent 50 bucks to watch that fight. Wildly entertained. I was entertained. It went the distance. I got to participate in the social media banter. I'm happy, satisfied with it. Everything doesn't have to be for me. That's right. Where Colin was right. Anthony Davis has been wearing me out for years and the Sun series summed up his career. In game one, he was awful. In games two and three, he was amazing. In game four, he was hurt. Game five, he didn't play.

Game six, he played briefly. Get an off-season commit to your body. That's what I've been told by sources I trust. He just doesn't commit to his body, so his body doesn't commit to him. You can't be 28 years old, and these are not major injuries. nagging stuff. He has never made the commitment a Russell Wilson, a Brady,

a LeBron has, and you're seeing the end result. He came into this season out of shape. Inexcusable. I know it to condense season. But that's okay for LeBron to use that, not a 28-year-old. Where Colin was wrong. Well, I guess the Clippers did not implode yet.

After losing the first two games at home, I came out and said, series is over. Brush off your LinkedIn and resumes Clipper executives. Listen, in game 6 and 7, Kauai was literally perfect. In game

6 and 7 in the fourth quarter, Kauai was 7 for 7 on field goals, three for 3 on 3s, and 2 for 2 on free throws. He was perfect. In the fourth quarter, he's not a verbal leader, but when he is engaged mentally and physically,

there's just not much out there that compares. Kevin Durant, Kauai, boy, the list is short. He just took over this series in the last two, three games. Where Colin was right? Well, Atlanta got a second round pick essentially for Julio Jones. I said, this is what he is. I would give up a really, really late first round pick for him, like the 28th or 29th pick. But the idea that he was, you know, everybody's like, you got to give a first rounder for him. First of all, he's old, has some injuries, super expensive for a wide receiver. And the NFL, frankly, is now handing us 25 to 30 more than competent wide receivers every year

because the NFL now adopts college concepts. I mean, AJ Brown walks in the league for Tennessee. He's a star. So a second round pick, GMs now are very tentative when it comes to wide receivers. DeAndre Hopkins. We all made fun of Bill O'Brien for a second round pick, but that's overwhelmingly. These GMs now, why? pay 23 for Julio Jones. I can pay a million and get a kid from Clemson in the third or fourth round.

Where Colin was wrong. Blake Griffin, where did that come from? That was the best game Blake Griffin has played for in years. In fact, I went back when he signed with Detroit three years ago, I looked this morning, I said, end of Blake Griffin's career as we know it. And I was right until this weekend. He was sensational. 18 points, 14 rebounds, played a little defense, and hit four threes. Maybe he's relaxed playing in this system. Maybe Steve Nash. I mean, the dude couldn't shoot for most of his career. The confidence, Blake Griffin shot the ball in game one. I'm sorry, if that's what you get with Blake Griffin, Brooklyn's in the finals. If that's what you're getting now? That was impressive.

Where Colin was right? Mack Jones, Patriot quarterback, ugly OTA, multiple reporters saying his body needs to fill out, his arm isn't very lively. Jarrett Stidham reportedly had a better practice and an OTA than the first round quarterback from Alabama. This is always my concern with Alabama quarterbacks. They never trail in a college game. they always play with a lead.

The wide receivers are all first round picks. The offensive line is all NFL. They never get touched. They always have a great running game behind them. And oh, yeah, they have Nick Saban. So they have the best scheme going into games. That's not the NFL. That is, even with Belichick, Tom Brady had to come from behind a lot.

Tom Brady got hit. Tom Brady's wide receivers weren't open. Alabama quarterback play is the opposite of NFL quarterback play. and Mack Jones, so far doesn't look the part. Where Colin was wrong. Well, I said before the year, boy, was I wrong, Lakers own the offseason. Yeah, that's not true.

Dennis Schroeder, who I think is really talented, hot and cold. You don't know what you get. Mark Gassall, playoff career lows, appears to be mostly shot. Montres Harrell got in the doghouse, so he was a complete non-factor. and I've always liked him as an off-the-bench athletic big,

Wesley Matthews, you know, I thought these were hits. And in the end, none of them really fit. And don't expect any of them back. Where Colin was right? I said, Green Bay GM, Mark Murphy and the GM, because it's the Midwest and a small town, they're getting letters to their office and emails telling them, nobody cares about Aaron Rogers.

Mark Murphy admitted this weekend. I'll read you the quote. Aaron has divided our fan base. The emails and quote letters that I've received, nobody sends letters anymore. I said, I guarantee it. They're getting letters and emails from fans. He said,

the less the both sides say publicly, the better, but we're receiving letters and emails in the last month, and it is completely divided our fan base. This is why I have said, I would submit to you, Green Bay is playing hardball. They are hearing from local fans who are saying, let him go. He's not us.

He's Hollywood. He's abandoned us. And it is playing a part. We thought it was. There it is. Where Colin was wrong. My NBA face bracket was a disaster. Probably the last time we do it.

So the entire Western conference was wrong over seven. my NBA champ, Laker, Gonzo. This is where I pick. I think the face bracket's done. O for seven in the West. I pick teams based on the best player. So we call it the face bracket. And in the history of the face bracket,

it's had good tournaments and bad tournaments. Disaster. May have to shelf it, at least until the NFL season. Where Colin was right? Well, when LeBron came to L.A., I said, folks, it's going to be 50% basketball and 50% mogul. stage. It's not the same. It's not that he's not great, but he's not as agonized when he loses games. He's just not. You can see him on the bench. He lost a first round series, first time ever,

and 10 minutes later was talking about his big movie Space Jam. I think I'm going to play for the Toon Squad this summer instead of Olympics. I think that's my focus on. on trying to beat the Monsars or the Goon Squad, we call them now. So it didn't have much success versus Sun. So now I am gearing my attention to the Goon Squad here in July, in mid-July. So I'm going to let the ankle rest for about a month. And then I'm going to gear out with Lola Tas, Granny, bugs, you know, and the rest of the crew. So hopefully, see y'all had to match.

Yeah, that would not be Magic or Kobe. That's just not kind of the way the Lakers do it. I don't think Laker fans appreciate that, but it's the reality. He had better options. Philly wanted him. Houston. Well, everybody wanted him. And in the end, he chose where business would be great.

And for the record, it has been great for LeBron. Where Colin was right? Soccer snobs, and that's almost 90% of American soccer fans, hate it when guys like me, who aren't as committed as them, can figure things out quickly in this sport. Christian Pulisic is easily the best soccer talent America's had since he was 18 years old. You watched him yesterday against Mexico. He is a ravishing talent.

We've never had anything like him. I know Landon Donovan. I like Landon Donovan. Not that. Pulisic and a band of very young players are the best talent we've ever. I've been watching soccer since Kyle wrote. None of you know who that is, right? That's who they used to push us.

It was a big soccer star in America. Kyle Rote Jr. Look it up. It's not that I knew Pulisic instantly was the best talent, but I was willing to go all in on it. I said, I don't want to hear about Landon Donovan. I don't want to hear about any of these guys. I don't want to hear about Clint Dempsey.

Christian Bullisic is so far and away the best American soccer talent we've ever had. And finally, there's three or four other players who are in his galaxy. and why I do believe the next World Cup has the potential. We finally have offensively skilled players. We're not just about our goalie. Our goleys are always great because we're a hands country. Our goalies are always great. We never have scores.

We never have elite attackers. We finally have them. All right. Some Luca thoughts, some Clipper thoughts on a Monday today. Stephen Jackson. Bonzie Wells on the show today. I used to cover Bonzie. I don't think he liked me when I covered him because that team was always in trouble.

Well, it is go time for the clippers. And, you know, one of the things that's important kind of to realize, and we talked about this a little bit with Anthony Davis, he doesn't have sometimes a sense of urgency. To give you a sense of the urgency the clippers now need to play for, just think about this. Golden State next year, Clay Thompson comes back. James Wiseman year two, the talented rookie.

Lakers, well, they're going to rebuild this, and both AD and LeBron get the longest offseason they've had in a long time. Utah, they don't have a wing right now to defend Kauai. They know it and will probably trade for one. Nuggets, Jamal Murray comes. back. Mavs, they're going to find a running mate for Luca at least at the trading deadline next year. So the time is now. Like it's set for the clipper. Utah is an obstacle. Don't have a great wing defender. That you lucked out. The number one seed does not match up with you. Secondly,

the Lakers and the Warriors. That was the big obstacle when they put this Paul George Kauai thing together. The Lakers and the Warriors, they're both out. So of the six best players remaining in the West, I would say Kauai is one. And then you're going to have like your Devin Bookers, your Yokic, your Chris Paul, of Peltie, Donovan Mitchell. Paul George is arguably six. So you've got two of the top six players, the only head coach left that's won a title. The Cs have parted for the Clippers walk through.

Also, you don't have to face a legendary culture. The Spurs culture, not in it. Lakers culture out. The Steve Kerr Warriors culture out. It's Utah that always comes up short, Phoenix that hasn't won forever, and Denver, there's never won a title. So you're not facing this powerful system or culture. Everybody's kind of got your culture. Clippers, they come up short.

This was, by the way, what the Lakers got last year. The Lakers got breaks. Remember, the Lakers got a bunch of breaks last year. The Clippers were an obstacle. They fell apart. Houston was an obstacle. The Warriors were an obstacle. They fell apart physically.

So you have to understand the urgency of this moment. This is a really nice parting of the seas for the clippers. The Lakers are out, warriors are out, the big cultures are out, and the jazz don't actually match up with you very well. That's usually not the case. Usually a number one seed's got most of the answers. I like the jazz a lot. They do not defend the wing very well.

They may buy next year because it's a well-run organization that generally finds their flaws. and delivers on it over time. Joy with the news. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Well, after lots of rumors and talks, the Falcons agreed to trade Julio Jones to the Titans.

They'll send the receiver and a sixth round pick to Tennessee in exchange for a second and fourth round pick. Titans' odds next season improved after the trade. To what? To Fox bet. Their chances to win the Super Bowl went from plus 3,300. to plus $2,800. There are odds to when the

AFC moved from plus $1,600 to plus $1,400. Sucker bet. And their odds to when the AFC South jumped from plus 125 to plus 105. The Colts have a better defense, a significantly better offensive line. I think a more talented quarterback. We'll see how Carson Wentz does.

They have, I would say, a superior general manager. The Colts are winning that division. I would tend to agree with you. But, look, they have Derek Henry. He's great. The Lave of Julio Jones, A.J. Brown, and Josh Reynolds. They finished the season 11 and 5 and won the AFC South last year.

And obviously, it's a different division this year. We know. But I think this is a great addition for them. And as far as, like, what Atlanta got, the reason they were moving Julio is because of money. So, like, they were going to try and take the best deal they could, but everyone can't afford Julio. So, I mean, I'm not disputing that Julio can play. But I would say at this point, he's not DeAndre Hopkins.

And I think he's better than OBJ. He's somewhere in between those two. But OBJ isn't in anything. DeAndre Hopkins is great. Julio's in the middle of that where, folks, these are salary caps. He's really expensive. So when you bring Julio on, Atlanta said, listen, we love him. But between Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, they're gobbled up $55 million of our salary cap.

He's the most expensive wide receiver in the league this year. And I just think they lost Corey Davis. You bring in Julio. Julio's better than Corey. But you got A.J. Brown on the other side. is a star. They had to make a move for their salary cap. They didn't have an option. Someone had to be moved. And Julio was injured a lot. I think he's going to do well. So do I. So why. And I think he is going to help them. But it's more about the division than it is about Julio Jones. So Packers'

mandatory minicamp starts tomorrow. Still don't know if Aaron Rogers is going to show up. Mandatory. And Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy admitted that the drama with their star quarterback has taken a toll on their fan base. He said the situation we face with Aaron Rogers has divided our fan base. The emails and letters that I received reflect this fact. We remain committed to resolving things with Aaron and we want him to be our quarterback in 2021 and beyond. We are working to resolve a situation and realize that the less both sides say publicly,

the better during you just did. Column was right. Call him was wrong. You also call the Green Bay Packers the post office. And clearly they are. They are getting less. Nobody sends letters. We've been joking the Packers or the post office.

You know, it's funny. If you were Aaron Rogers, so Aaron could be there tomorrow if he wants to. Aaron Rogers, I have no insight here, could very well still be considering coming back. I don't believe he's going to because the fines for this are not punitive. For these, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, they could fine him a couple hundred thousand bucks. I think it's $95,000 he'd lose.

That's two tweets for Aaron Rogers. I'm not joking. So I think Aaron's making a stand. And I think if he comes back now, it looks like he lacks the stomach for this. Like if he comes back in camp, he has made his point and- Right.

And he's lost a little bit of money, but he's still there. Look, this whole situation was avoidable from the get-go. Like, I don't have any sympathy for the Packers. I know I'm not a Packers fan, so maybe Packers fans are looking at this differently. I have no sympathy for the Packers. it's not hard to let your future Hall of Fame quarterback in his prime know that you're thinking about drafting a quarterback, not difficult.

Your fault. This is your fault. And you created the entire situation. So therefore, to me, the burden of repair is on the Packers. Like, he just went out and won an MVP. You messed this up. So the messaging to the fans, obviously, they're going to, you know, they're going to push the, you know, Packers Nation and loyalty and all that. I get that. I get that. Yeah. But if this doesn't work out, it's not Aaron Rogers' fault. Like, I'm sorry, it's just not. He has a right to be upset, and he's given a lot to that organization, and he's great.

And when you are one of six people, maybe seven on earth that can do what you do, you tend to kind of have standards for yourself. Yeah, and I think, listen, I think it's pretty well documented. I think Aaron's prickly and can be condescending and difficult, struggles with his own family. I've said that, blah, blah, blah. but where I will defend Aaron is look what Seattle did look at what these organizations do to take care of their stuff yeah I mean it's you gotta give him a heads up I'll go back several years you can't give him a heads up when you get rid of his buddy as quarterback coach you can't give him a call Jared Cook he asked can we keep Jared Cook you can't keep Jared Cook you can't make the numbers work for JJ Watt listen I I understand Green Bay still wears Dockers. It's the Midwestern dairy ethos. I get it.

I appreciate it. God loves America. But you've got to be honest if you're a Packer fan. You guys have butchered some of this too. Well, yeah. And more importantly, well, it's great to be that. And there's nothing wrong with it. The rest of the league, the people that you're competing against,

aren't doing business that way. Right, right, right. And so they're going to be a step ahead of you. So you can't keep doing things the way you've always done them when it's kind of unreasonable to do it that way anyway. And then when everyone else keeps winning and you're not, but look, some people are comfortable being good, not great.

Yeah. That's just, that's what it is. Finally, James Hardin left game one against the Bucks in the first minute with a hamstring injury. I thought they were doomed. Nope. Nope. Brooklyn still won the game 115 101.7, but they'll have to do it again in game two without him. Hardin has been ruled out tonight with right hamstring tightness.

Bucks are favored by one against the Nets tonight, according to Fox Bet. kind of bummed out for Hardin because you know because of his playoff struggles, James really wanted to play. And he, and he, I've been a James Hardin critic, I thought he was great. He has become a ball distributor. He's really become the glue of that franchise. Yes.

Yes, he's proved all of the critics wrong as far as that goes in Brooklyn. It was a lot of questions about whether this was going to work. Obviously, this is also disappointing for fans because we wanted to see all of them out there together and what they could do against the bucks. It didn't matter in game one, but hopefully they're able to get him back later on in the series, but they're not going to happen tonight. All right, good stuff. Joy with the news. Well, that's the news.

You know, it's funny, Stephen. To win in the playoffs, there's usually four or five things you need. You know this from San Antonio. You got to play defense. Well, Brooklyn's not great defensively. You have to have pretty good chemistry. Well, hell, those guys barely played together.

You got to have your health. Oh, James Hardin's hurt. You have to have a coach that's been around the block. Steve Nash has never coached even in high school head coach. And I look at Brooklyn, Stephen, and I'm like, they don't have anything you're supposed to need to win in the playoffs, but they're so ridiculously talented. It's like AAU basketball.

They just got more dudes. Could they win this series without James Harden, in your opinion? You also need some luck. Luck is a big part of it, too. Every team that's won the championship has something going, going, excuse me, going in their favor that didn't have something to do with the game. They definitely have a chance. You know, when you have KD and Kari on this team, you know, these guys can get it done.

But I don't see it being easy or even, it's going to be hard without James. It's put it like that. They need James to win this series. I don't see them winning it without James, obviously. They had two games against Milwaukee. The last two games they played in regular season against Milwaukee, they needed James. And that's the reason why they got beat. I mean, Yonis average 40 on them the last two.

game. So, uh, and he had a great game last game. I think the reason why they won, they run was because of Blake. Blake played. Blake, Blake was the enforcer. Blake was physical. Blake was diving on the floor and you need somebody, uh, to hit them in the mouth. And Blake was that guy. Not having James takes a lot, a big dynamic away from the team because they don't have that playmaker that's going to make plays that's going to get that triple double. And James was a guaranteed triple double. James was my MVP before he got hurt. So, uh, even though they have the KD and Kyrie, they're going to miss James. There's going to be a real hard task. I'm going to come out the series without him.

Yeah. Yeah, to your point, James has really been the glue on that franchise. So I was saying this this morning about the Clippers. I know they won the series, but good God, why did it take seven games? They're better. They're deeper. They've got the championship coach. There's something about the Clippers in Kauai.

Maybe that he's nonverbal. He's the opposite of you. You talk. You're emotional. You emote. I never know what I'm getting from. Kawhi. Do you trust the Clippers going forward? Yeah, I do. One thing about it, when the playoffs come, regardless of what happened,

when it clicks, it clicks. The Clippers really never had an identity. This series, they had to find the identity. Guys found their role. Role players make big shots and took big shots. Paul George played off Kauai. Kauai is the best player on the team, and Paul George has to be his robin. And I think they're starting to figure out their identity. Talu did a great job. of making adjustments games of six and seven. Yeah. That's why they won the series. Rick Hollis, he's my guy, but he didn't make no adjustments.

Luca dominated all year, and they won games all year with a one-man band. You can't do that in the playoffs, and that's the reason why they're home vacation right now getting ready to go on a fishing trip. Yeah. You know, Luca, it's interesting because poor Zingas, to me, is just a wildly overpaid three. Hardaway's more of a three. I don't think they have a two. I would be willing with Luca.

And here's kind of how Steve and I think about it. Like Portland's never gotten Dame a two. They keep trying to tell you they got twos. Nerkich isn't a two. I would give up everybody to get Luca a two, but it may take a special kind of player. Where do you think Dallas is at going forward? Are they just going to end up being like the Dirk Mavs,

which is one great guy in a bunch of disparate parts? Yeah, and I don't think they can afford that right now. because you're doing a disservice to Luca and everything he's doing. You have to break that team up and bring some more players in there. You have a team full of average guys. And don't get me wrong, Porzingis is not the only $100 million player in the league that plays like he don't care and don't play with no passion.

The NBA is full of $100 million players that's not really doing nothing in the league. So they need to find some guys that appreciate the game that will go out there and put their body on the line and play with passion to give Lucas some help. But you need more than one piece over there. They got a lot of average guys over there in the shoulder in the last couple of games in the series. You know, it's funny, Stephen, the game is so different today

than it was 15 years ago. The minute they took out the hand check, it's not as physical. You can't stay in front of any of these guards now. And a prime example is Lamello ball walks into this league and gives you 20 a night, and I'm like, what? And Trey Young, when he broke into this league,

my first impression was he can't guard anybody. He's tiny. And he's a monster. Do you like, I mean, it's almost like now you can win playing finesse basketball. Like the rules have stipulated it. Does that drive you nuts or do you just, I mean, do you like watching the game? I watch Atlanta and I'm like, Trey Young's unstoppable. You can, John Morant's unstoppable.

What do you, would you make the league more physical today? Teams like the Knicks are fun, but they got such a low ceiling. They don't have guys that can shoot. Right. Well, I think they took the physicality away from. from the game. If you see any other time with Trey Young being a small, I'm a big fan of Ice Trey. But if I was on that team, I'll tell Danny Green, let him come on time, drive to the lane, and I'm going to lay him down. I'm going to lay them down. Make him hit the floor one good time.

That's just a part of the game. It's not being dirty. It's just a part of the game. And the game is so soft. As you see, when Brooklyn, when Blake stepped over Janice's brother, him and T. just had a couple words, and they gave them both texts. Like, they're taking away the trash talking. They're taking away the fun out of the back. basketball, and that's what you see. You see a lot of soft plays. The guys don't really want to touch guys. But guys like Kauai, he gets it. Guys are so talented today, you can't stop anybody. You just have to make it difficult for him. And that's what Kauai did for Luka to be able to get out their series. Let's go back to the Clippers because I do think, I think Utah is one of those

teams we don't talk about. I always compare them to Gonzaga. Until they went in title, nobody's going to trust them. You know what I mean? Like, like it doesn't, Gonzaga went 30. one in one, and all we want to talk about is the loss of Baylor. Not when they crushed everybody else, but that's fair, because same with Utah. It's like LeBron joked. Nobody picked them when we were kids on video games. Nobody picked Utah guys. Like, I get it. They don't win the title. I don't think they can stop Kauai. They don't have a wing defender, but I will say this. They shoot the hell out of the three. Unlike Dallas, they defend. They're deep. They're not like Dallas. They got six guys that can hit a three. Give me your thought.

thoughts on that Clippers series with Utah and how what kind of transpires, Stephen? It's going to be interesting to see what the Clippers Bigman can do. It's going to be healthy. It's Bucky Cousers going to get a chance. That's what's going to matter. They're going to have to take Rudy Goldberg out the game. Obviously, Donovan Mitch is going to be great. And think about the Utah guard players, they play together.

Yeah. All around the wing, they play together. They share the ball. It's a lot of one-on-one with the Clippers, but they're going to need to take Rudy-Gaubert out the game, put the Marcus Cousers in there, let the Marcus Cousers. bang him up and dunk on them a couple of times. They're going to need everybody. They're going to need their big man this series.

They played a whole bunch of smalls against Dallas because Dallas don't have a dominant big man. Where Utah does. And I think that's going to be the tell of the series, what big man is more dominant. Finally, when LeBron lost to the sons, 10 minutes later, he went to the podium and talked for, you know, three or four minutes

about Space Jam. And I said, I'm like, man, that ain't Kobe. That ain't Michael. Like, is it a fair criticism? to say with LeBron now. He has just moved into basketballs about half of it stage. I love him as a player and I think he'll come back and have a good year.

But when LeBron did that space jam thing, now I'm an old guy. So I think to myself, oh, that doesn't work for me at all. Just go do your space jam. Don't do that. Did it bother you at all that he's already moved on? Exit didn't mean anything? Well, I'm one of those guys

that knows that Kobe's Kobe's Kobe Jordan's Jordan. We've got to stop expecting LeBron to all of a sudden turning to joy in the Kobe. LeBron is LeBron. They're all great. But LeBron is so successful in his whole life because he only worries about what he can't

control. And when you do that, you're happier, you're more at peace and you get more accomplished. But when you sit around and worry about things you can't control, you don't get anything done. I salute LeBron. It probably wasn't what everybody wanted to hear after lost all the Lakers fans, but he knows, hey, I

can't go take this game back. I've got a goal in my life anyway. And I got a that I got to promote. Might as well start now. That's a good take. I like that. Stephen Jackson, great seeing you as always, continued success on your podcast, which is outstanding. Thanks, bud. Thanks, my man. Good to see you. Good to see you. Boy, he points out that the Blake Griffin performance was like four threes was shocking.

But again, Blake was, wasn't he a number one pick? I mean, Blake was a star. He went to the Clippers. But that's what they brought him in for, not to rely on him every night, to have big moments in the playoffs and contribute. That's essentially what the Miami Heat did with your Ray Allen's and your Mike Millers. Can you give us two great quarters in a six-game series? Can you have a couple moments in our postseason run where there's a little bit lacking and you just bring out that juice? When they brought George Foreman back for a second run, a lot of things he didn't do,

like move, he's still at a punch. Blake's still got a punch. He can still score. A lot of the other stuff, you're not going to play any defense, but I thought it was, as Stephen said, a huge impact in game one. So, you know, when you go to college, certain people need to go to college. Lawyers to get a law degree. Doctors, you know. got to be able to go to college, you're interned, and you become a doctor, and we know how the game works.

And then there's a majority of Americans that really, a lot of salespeople in America that have a college degree. Like you can sell or you can't. And my theory is, with most things, you don't need a specialized skill

or a law degree or to be a doctor and go to medical school. that just hire smart people for your opening and they'll figure it out. I'll take a smart person who doesn't know my business. I'll teach in my business. Then hiring somebody that's dim, but quote, has been in my business 30 years. I just started a company about, you know, five months ago.

The rule is hire smart, they'll figure it out. And so far it's worked. And so when I watch Luca play one on five against, you know, the Clippers is you've got to get Luca too because Luca's very rare. He's 22 years old. He is in his prime now.

He played pro basketball in Europe at 1415. He's not like other 22-year-olds. Most guys take 27 to get here. So you cannot waste his time with draft picks and James Wiseman and guys developing. Go get him a star now. Dame Bradley Beale, now. It's not that he's good.

It's that he's so far ahead of most 22-year-olds. He's an outlier. He's a historic outlier. He's LeBron. LeBron at 22, 23. Magic at 23 years old. Like he was lucky. Magic inherited Kareem.

But you get these once in a decade guys. Even Kobe took a while to become Kobe. Lucas now as good as score as the league has. Do not go to the draft. Because kids don't stay in college more than a year, the good ones, they often go to the G League, straight from high school, you know, that kind of game. It's a lot of guessing. That's why there's so many busts in the NBA draft. You're just guessing.

You're just projecting. It's not like the NFL draft where I got four years of tape at Alabama. I should know if you can play. So with him, get out of the bus game, go get him a star. And what's interesting, and I don't have an explanation for this, and maybe you can go to my social media and tell me that Dallas Mavericks inexplicably can never land free agents. I don't get it. Middle of the country, no state tax, great owner. Is it because Dallas is just considered a football town? And it's not an attractive place for NBA guys to go? I'm guessing I have no idea.

Is it because Mark Cuban's such a star? He takes a little bit of the glamour off you. Everybody talks about Mark Cuban. Is that it? I know Mark can talk. He can sell. He's smart. It's a great arena. It's a great fan base. There's no reason why Dallas, does not land free agents. Nothing makes sense to me. Like I get Green Bay. I get Buffalo. Like I get weather. I get small market. I even get like I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I get Portland or Seattle. You know, you play major league baseball in Seattle. You are on a plane. You know how many five hour flights you're on instead of St. Louis? You play for the Cardinals. Everything's a two and a half hour flight. Three max. In Seattle, everything's a six hour flight, five hour flight. Like I get geography

year weather limitations. Dallas has none. They have never landed twos. Now they've done a great job to get Dirk. They did a great job to get even D'Andre Jordan a star. They had him and then he bailed on him. I have no answer for it. None. I'm not smart enough to figure it out. But when I was watching Dame in Portland and Bradley Beale in his series and Luca, I'm like, go get him one of those guys. Just go get it done. Don't waste your time in the draft. Draft picks now mean nothing for 10 years. That's not what it's about for Dallas. Get a two, you're fine. I mean, good God.

You're watching the Brooklyn Nets. They don't have any coaching experience. They don't chemistry. They don't have health. They got stars. And in game one against Milwaukee, they only had two of them. And they still beat Milwaukee, which had the coach, which had the system, which had the defense, which had the health, which had the chemistry. Go get stars.

And when you get a look at 22 that's this good, don't waste your time on G-League guys and college guys. waste of time. Go big. And I mean, the kid is, he's insane. But the problem is, he's playing a one-on-five for the whole series. And so by the fourth quarter of these games, especially once Kauai Leonard started guarding him late in the series, Kauai wears you out. I mean, Kauai is Spider-Man, like sinewy strong, doesn't look strong.

But, I mean, Luca was worn out by the fourth quarters. He was a shot fighter. So I don't know why they can't, you know, now, Luca also doesn't have a shoe deal. And I don't think Luke is ever going to be big shoe guy in America. I don't. What does that mean? That's an advantage for Dallas is that he's going to take that Maverick's money. When they offer him an extension, he's going to take it.

Now, Zion could end up being a lamello ball. Lamello ball is going to sell shoes. Charlotte better get their act together now because he won't take the money. He'll go to a bigger market. his money off shoes. But I don't see Luca as, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he is the next Michael Jordan with shoes.
