Anywhere. Except Pittsburgh, which I have to go too often. I used to live in Hartford, Connecticut. I couldn't get to Charleston. I couldn't get to Charleston, South Carolina. Well, that's a tiny town. Pittsburgh's a big city. Pittsburgh is much bigger than Charleston.

Charleston, yes. I lived in Hartford. Bad airport. They had occasionally a flight to Los Angeles direct, and it would be canceled about every year. They couldn't get enough people. That's when I realized I got to move to a city that's got more juice. Well, I think there's one airline that flies directly. I'm not going to say what they are. Oh, you and I are not going to fly that airline. We're not flying that airline. There's an airline. The flight's also at like seven in the morning, which I can't make. My daughter flew out once. I was furious at she bought a ticket to fly somewhere she bought that airline. I'm like, what are you doing

on that airline? I'm like, Dad makes it good living. I mean, she survived. My family flies it all the time because they do have a lot of flights out of there, but yeah. No, we're a-go-to-beta family. We are a Delta family. I fly an American, but I fly Delta a lot. Well, Miami's a big American market.

So Matt Schneidman works for the athletic. He broke a story a couple weeks ago. He said, Brian Gouncun, the GM of the Packers, was holding confirmed that they don't believe Aaron wants to be traded. And if he did, that's the only way they'd trade him. According to his report, Matt's report, if the team believe Aaron was truly committed to never

playing for them again, they'd move on a trade. They don't think that. So they're playing a little chicken with Aaron Rogers. And let's bring in Max Snydman from the Athletic. Been there a couple years. By the way, he was at mini camp. Three days of it. Today was the last day.

So the first day, Jordan Love, not great. yesterday, really good. Drum roll, please. How was Jordan Love today? It was a little anti-climactic after his, nothing short of dominant yesterday, really. I don't think that's an exaggeration. He was kind of in the middle today.

So kind of the peaks and valleys that you would expect from a quarterback who really hasn't played quarterback in the NFL. He had no preseason last year canceled because of COVID. Third stringer all year, never dressed for a game. And because Aaron Rogers isn't here at Man-D, mandatory mini camp, officially a holdout, the reigning MVP is. Jordan Love is taking the vast bulk of snaps during 11-on-11s over Blake Bortle. So we're finally seeing what Love is made of. And in a small sample size, he's showing some promise, definitely some improvement from last season.

Let's just talk about, we know he moves well. We saw his college tape. He can move around well. There's little Mahomes there. Does he, is he a checkdown kid, how is his arm? Just if I'd never seen him play, and you're my scout, you're my regional scout. And I say, hey, give me a minute. What's he look like when he plays? Yeah, I talked to one of his top receivers from Utah State around this time last year, and the name he threw out was Patrick Mahomes. Now, I'm not saying he's like Patrick Mahon, but he can move.

He can throw a really far ball. I know that's kind of elementary terms there, but has a really strong arm. Struggled with a little bit of accuracy early in this week. Obviously, yesterday really improved on that. But he's that new age of quarterback, that Mahon. Holmes makeup. I'm not saying he's Mahomes again, but he has the intangibles that you need in today's NFL. Now, everything else, reading defenses, commanding a huddle. That is a work in progress, but the Packers, why they traded up four spots in the first round in 2020 to take him are because

they think he has the physical skills. I don't know to be the next Hall of Fame quarterback in Green Bay, but that heir apparent to Aaron Rogers. You know, it's interesting. We've said we kind of believe you got to rip the Band-Aid off on this thing. And when you rip the Band-Aid off, it hurts briefly, but usually heals quickly. And, I mean, if you got Aaron holding out and Jordan Love's going to be asked a million questions, and so is Matt LaFleur. Matt, you've been covering this team, you know the NFL. The more noise you have, the more distractions, it's hard. This is not the NBA with six great teams, five good ones and a bunch of junk. I mean, Jacksonville last year beat the Colts. The Jets beat the Rams. Like, you got to be focused. You can't be going and dealing with like,

know, these peripheral issues. So let's say, in your mind, Matt, is there a moment where the holdout continues that Green Bay, just for the betterment of Jordan Love's psyche and the organization would move him? I mean, if he missed the first day of training camp, for instance, Matt, would the temperature in the room change, in your opinion? I don't think so. I think Brian Gutakuntz, the GM, whether it's this year or in four years. I know I heard you talking before I came on. Aaron Rogers isn't going to be the quarterback here for the next four years. I think it's possible. If they come to a resolution here and they give Aaron Rogers a contract extension and he's the quarterback here for the next three years at least, I think they still would hang on to Jordan Love in hopes he can be the next guy. Listen, I know quarterbacks don't sit for three years like Aaron Rogers did anymore when they first come into the league. But I think they're really committed to not trading Aaron Rogers, as I reported, because when it comes down to it,

if you're a GM, you simply cannot have the bullet point on your resume that you traded the reigning MVP with three years left on his contract. I don't care what the circumstances are. Brian Gutakunz cannot trade him. I honestly think that Brian Gutakunz would not swallow his pride and, you know, do anything different than what he's currently standing firm on, as I said, and that's not trading Aaron Rogers. And even if he stays with the team, I think they're fine riding out with Jordan Love. At this point, I know it's kind of a cop-out answer,

but I think they're going to keep both guys and not trade either of them. I think that's how this eventually ends. And whether that's Aaron Rogers holding out, and he's on the roster into the regular season, or whether he's starting for them. I think it's one of those two scenarios that we end up in. You used to cover the Raiders for the Bay Area News Group. Now you cover the Packers.

And talk about two different fan bases. The Packers, it's very collegiate. Egypt, very insular. So I'm sure that you're in Green Bay right now. You would occasionally turn on talk radio. I mean, it's a talk of the town, obviously. And I don't think the PR stuff matters that much. If Aaron's back, they win. If Jordan Love can play, they win. If he can't and Aaron holds out, they won't win as much. But when you talk to Packer fans, you go to the grocery store, you listen to Talk Radio. What are people saying? What are Packer fans saying? You know, if I have my finger accurately on the pulse of this passionate fan base,

I would say that not a majority of them, but a chunk of them that maybe I did not expect when this first broke on draft day from Adam Schaefter are starting to turn against Aaron Rogers. We're getting to the point in the summer where I feel, and maybe my reads incorrect, I don't think it is, that people just want this to be over. They want him to say, all right, come back, retire, trade him, whatever. But what Aaron Rogers told Kenny Maine was that, or what he implied, essentially, was that his only beef is with the front office. And that's really GM Brian Gutikus. He said he loves the fans. He loves his teammates. He loves the coaching staff and Matt LaFleurr and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

So I think fans in a sense are like, why can't you just, you know, for lack of a better term, suck up your feelings for the GM and come back and play for everyone else that you love. Just get over it. Now, that's not me saying that. That's what I think the pulse of the fans are. is Mark Murphy right when he comes out in his mailbag on Packers.com and says, this has divided the fan base? I think he's right. Was it a smart thing to do from a team president perspective to come out and at least what it seems like, try and paint Aaron Rogers in a bad light and blame him for dividing the fan base? I don't know if that's a great

move from a PR standpoint, but like you said, I agree with you, Colin, 100%. I don't think the PR battle really matters. What matters is Ken Jordan Love play. Yeah. So, when you're at practice, do you feel compelled? Because one of the things I think about is, you're just going to ask Aaron, I mean, the longer he's out, the more questions will be asked. Do you feel as a writer for the athletic? And there's not a right or wrong answer. But do you feel kind of compelled every day to ask the Aaron Rogers questions, even though it's June? Because it's just the elephant in the room. I mean, were you asking Aaron Roger questions today? Not today. You know, I'm on this show instead of on the Zoom calls, which I have no problem doing.

But yesterday when we talked to Jordan Love, I asked him, I said, you're a 22-year-old kid, you're a human. How do you compartmentalize all this stuff? How do you avoid the reigning MVP not being here from being a distraction for you essentially? And I'm paraphrasing my question here. Since everyone's talking about it, and he gave the cliche, the appropriate answer of, you know, just zoning in on what I can do, control what I can control. I thought love was impressive in what he said yesterday. But listen, you know how this industry works. We have to ask every day. It's the biggest story in the NFL. He's the reigning MVP. It's not like he's some Joe Schmo. And even if Matt LaFleur is sick and tired of answering Aaron Rogers' questions, which I think he is,

we got to ask because you never know which day there's going to be an update. You never know which day someone's going to say something. It's the saga that will never end. And quite frankly, I just want to enjoy my summer, but I don't think that's going to happen. Yeah. What is your gut feeling? If I said, all right, Matt, you've been covering this team for two or three years. You've got a bunch of sources.

I mean, you're in the town here. just your gut feeling what happens? I think Aaron Rogers starts for the Packers Week 1 in New Orleans. I understand that he's dug in right now to his stance, and I understand he's very stubborn. I don't know him as well as some of the other guys on the beat who have been covering his entire career, but in my interactions with Aaron,

he seems like a very stubborn guy who is not willing to waver. But that being said, and this is just my assumptions, I think there are several players on the team, Devonte Adams, Mercedes-Louis, David Bactiari, Mason Crosby, who can get into Aaron's ear over the next couple months. And time heals all wounds. And those are his closest friends on the team. And they say, listen, man, if they say this, listen, man, you love us.

You love the fans. You love the coaches. Come back. Win one more title in Green Bay. Cement your legacy, even if it's not already cemented. Who cares what you feel about the GM? I think with time, they could convince him to do that. maybe he wants to see some change in the organization in how players are treated.

You heard him talk about people and how players are treated in that interview with Kenny Maine and kind of not naming the front office but indirectly naming them. If he feels that the GM is really dug into not trading him, which I think Brian Gutakunz is, I could see him showing up in the middle of training camp but say, all right, their reputation's been drugged through the mud enough. I'm going to come back and do this for all the people I love. I think Aaron Rogers will start week one. If you asked me to put a percentage on it, I would say 65 to 70% confident right now.

All right. That's pretty good percentage. Better than the Powerball. I play that every day. Matt Schneidman read his stuff at The Athletic. He's the Packer reporter. He's been there for a couple of years. He also has a alongside Bill Huber, head of the PAC podcast.

And getting humiliated, it's not just that, they're getting humiliated. And James Hardin isn't playing. Yes, and Jeff Green is also not going to play. What this game starts at four, doesn't it?

4.30, yeah. Here in L.A. Okay. Well, yeah, here and we don't pay attention to the rest of the country. 430 here in L.A. And then Clippers Jazz tonight at 7 here in L.A. But yeah, this is a huge game for Milwaukee, for Janus's legacy, and I know I say that every single year, and everyone freaks out.

He's young. He's got forever, which he does, and he's consistent and healthy, but championship windows close very quickly. This is a huge game, huge game tonight. Their favorite by three and a half the bucks are. I think that the bucks will win tonight. I don't think that they're going to go down 3-0. The back at home in Milwaukee, they know how serious this game is. Hardin and Jeff Green are out, although it didn't matter of Hardin was.

out before, I just, I mean, if I'm the Nets, I just put a stop to this tonight. Like, I put everything I can't believe how good Blake Griffin was. I'm watching these Blake Griffin highlights. To hell. He was so good in that first game. This is what you bring in, this is how you put

championship teams together when you have big stars. You bring in guys that people think are done, who aren't, who have had the ability to be great before. Maybe they're not going to give it to you every single night, but that's not what you need them for. You need them in the postseason in moments. And that's what you can contribute.

What's better for us is if Milwaukee gets blown out by 30. Then it's chaos in Milwaukee. That is more, I mean, it's better for fans because we get a longer series if the bucks win tonight. Sure, sure. But for content purposes, yeah. Tire fires are good. Good teams that end in tire fires, not all season long tire fires.

But a good team that just gets crushed. You are rooting against us. Like, no. I can't talk about, we can't talk about terrible teams. We want y'all to be interesting. Be good and then fall apart. But it's okay to have one great team fall apart because it's a good topic. Exactly.

So numerous reports from Bears practice yesterday suggested that it was a much better day for Justin Fields than Andy Dalton. Head coach Matt Nagy was very impressed by the first year quarterback and complimented his approach to the game. I thought today he had a really good day of seeing that. I thought he spun the ball well. he just he has that mentality of rip your heart out and so there's a couple plays in there and not just today but other days where these quarterbacks are staying aggressive and you got to see a taste of that today with Justin football cliches it's like the season is almost back spun the ball well rip your heart out mentality lots of football cliches but I like to hear this we like updates from practice that we don't get to see and I think Justin feels the starting week one like I don't I don't know how you're going to keep him on the sidelines and pitch. We saw how just the QB1 Twitter post with Andy Dalton went. He was awarded the throw of the day at practice.

Throw of the day. This is how addicted we are to football. Who was given throw of the day? That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. They have throw of the day? I like it. That's like radio guys that do Collar of the Day. Well, listen, we've been paying attention to what Jordan Love is doing.

He got throw of the day. Andy Dalton threw three interceptions. So it's something. Andy Dalton threw three picks? Yeah. I'll trade him right now. Seriously. Three picks for a veteran quarterback at practice?

This is why you practice. This is what I'm saying. Justin Fields is going to start week one. It's Chicago. The fans want him. He's got like the top merchandise already. He's had plenty of starts in college. Andy Dalton through three picks.

Yes. Been the league 12 years, three picks at practice. Wow. There's a beautiful and accurate passes. And Justin got the throw of the day. Throw of the day. You get like an Applebee's gift card or something. Would you get something for that?

I don't know. Maybe they have like a sticker board like you do in kindergarten. Throwing day. So it was reported yesterday that Showtime projects the exhibition boxing match between Mayweather and Logan Paul to have sold one million pay-per-view buys. That's a lot. So that's about $50 million. $50. Well, it costs $49.99.

So hopefully the fighters both made $20 million. So, well, I would assume Mayweather made more, but three of the top four fights all time on pay-per-view vise involved with Mayweather. Okay, I got a question for you, Joey. I did not buy that fight for Mayweather. I bought it for Logan Paul. I wanted to see, I bought that for Logan Paul to see if he was credible. I didn't buy it for Mayweather. Because he was fighting Mayweather.

If he was fighting like another YouTuber you went about it. No, no. If Logan Paul was fighting... You would have spent $50 to watch Logan Paul fight a other YouTuber? No, if Logan Paul would have fought any semi-legitimate fighter... Okay, well, that's the reason of it. But if Floyd Mayweather would have fought anybody else,

I wouldn't have bought it. I'm done with Floyd Mayweather. Logan Paul, I'm sorry. You marketing people out there, I bought that for Logan Paul. I did not buy it for Floyd Mayweather. I bought it for Floyd Mayweather. I have no interest in what...

You like watching him. He's boring. I mean... I'm not, I'm not, like, I'm not going to watch him fight. I'm not going to watch Paul fight another YouTuber. I'm not going to spend $50 for that. No, no, no, but like if he fought somebody legitimate, I'll tell you this. I'll tell you what I like. It's not good for Dana White.

I like Logan Paul and Jake Paul fighting UFC guys. Well, Jake Paul is scheduled to fight Tyron Woodley. I would pay. Who's an ex-UFC welterweight champ. When do they fight? August 28th in Miami. How much will you pay to watch that? I'm going to pay whatever they charge.

What would you, if I, if I, if I, if I, it was 250 bucks. No. No. No. Absolutely not. No. Absolutely not. Okay. No. No. I'm not paying one cent, single solitary cent over 75 dollars. So I completely laugh when I said.

So 75's your line. Yeah. Not one penny over 75. And I would, it would hurt me a lot to pay 75 for it. I would invite a lot of people over and I'm watching that Jake Paul Woodley fight. You pay 250 dollars. Yeah, I'd invite like four boys over and say, you guys drop in, give me some. You bring the Heineken's. I think it's going to be a, I think I am, okay, I'm tell you right now.

I am fascinated. I'm not the only person in America saying this. They sold a million pay-per-view vize. Obviously, people are interested. I am fascinated with YouTube stars who I think can actually fight facing pro athletes and UFC guys. I think it's better than 90% of the stuff that's on TV, not called the NFL and NBA playoffs. So a lot of fans pushed back on this because it's, it's, it's, not the most, you know, I don't want to say professional, but like, it doesn't have the mystique

and the refinement. Oh, who gives a rip about that? But what I would say is half, half of the fight game, boxing and UFC, is selling the fight. That's half the sport. I used to cover it in Vegas. The press conferences, they're goofy for reason. I had more fun watching that. I'll tell you right now, my wife doesn't like sports.

Connor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather, was one of the best nights we've had together. No, it was unbelievable. It was an unbelievable sporting weekend. Like, I'm totally with you. I'm just saying I'm not spending $250 to watch that. So don't you dare. Hey, you set some poll up on my phone. What would people pay?

We just got out of a pandemic. You are not charging $250 to watch. People are still getting paid until September by the government. Is that how it's working? I don't know. I think it's September. Nobody's charging $250. So what's the poll?

$250 or my line of $75? I think it'll be $50. You just said 75 And I think there's a lot of people That would pay 75 bucks I don't know if you can charge $75 When you charged $50 for Floyd Mayweather I can't be the only person in America that thinks this

Kauai, because he could guard the point, the two, the three, in the four. He actually defended a couple years ago for Toronto. He defended Janus, whereas Gobert can defend Biggs, but Kauai, I can put him on anybody. I can put him on Luca. I could put him on Chris Ball. I can put him on anybody. Would you rather build your team around Tray Young or

Devin Booker? Actually, Trey Young. Tray Young's got something in a leadership gene. He's 22 years old and he has the seventh highest scoring average in NBA playoff history. There is something

aggressive about his personality. And listen, you can make an argument that Phoenix last year was more talented than Atlanta this year. And look what Atlanta is doing in the playoffs. And they're great on the road. Would you rather have Nicola Yokic or Joel M. Bede at Center? Well, Yokic, because he never gets hurt. Yokish plays 70 plus games. And he also averages nine assists a game. M. Bid averages about three. Unbelievable passer.

Yeah. So, and Yokit's just, I can depend on him physically more, although NB is more talented. Would you rather have Manny Williams or Quinn Snyder as a head coach? Tough, but Quinn Snyder, here's why. Snyder's a great defensive coach. Everybody knows that Jazz can shoot threes. They lead the NBA and fewest threes allowed. Quinn Snyder, who is a very good offensive player, is one of the best defensive.

He doesn't get Tibbs reputation. He got to Utah. Their defense was great. He is a great defensive coach. Jazz have had a winning record all five years he's been there. Would you rather have Kevin Durant or Commerant? Why Leonard in game seven? I'm going to go, I know it's hard.

I'd say Kauai. He's been great in those big games. He's also a better defender. And he also, I don't know. That's a tough one. Kauai in game seven, pretty tough out. Better defender.

Durant's the better score. Durant's also had a handful of in-game injuries. Kauai, and Kauai will miss games, but if he plays, he plays. Would you rather have Chris Middleton or Paul George is your number two. Paul George. Paul's better pair.

Paul, Paul leads Chris in all the playoff statistics. Listen, we can say what we want about Paul George in the playoffs. He's a very good player. He's an all-star. He's a legitimate Western Conference All-Star. I think Paul's a great player. He's got some anxiety in the playoffs, and it's very obvious. Would you rather have the Nets or Clippers when their first NBA title?

Well, for us, Clippers, because it means the Nets unraveled a little bit. And if the Nets unravel a little bit with three stars, it's a better top. Well, plus it would just be wonderful to see Lakers and Clippers fans go at it. Would you rather follow Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving on Twitter? Oh, Durant by far. Because Durant's liable to go back at you and yell something at you. Durant's, in fact, I saw this yesterday. Durant's got 24,000 tweets.
