are going to join us upcoming. Talk some home run derby. Talk some baseball. Some show Hey Otani. Did you guys see the story in San Diego last night? I want to get to Chris Paul in a second. I do want to share with you one story, which is really kind of cool.

Really kind of cool. Okay. So, Max Scherzer was pitching for the Nats. they're up eight to nothing. Eight to nothing. And the Padres come back and put seven on the board in the fourth inning. Part of the seven on the board in the fourth inning was a grand slam home run from Daniel, uh, was it, uh, Camerana.

Okay. Daniel Camerana has been in the minors for 11 years as a pitcher. He's from Benito, which is a suburb of San Diego. So literally in his hometown, hits a grand slam as a relief pitcher off of Max Scherzer. That's pretty crazy. That's pretty crazy. And the last pitcher to hit a grand slam in his first career Major League Baseball hit was like in 1889 or something. That's crazy.

All right, Trevor's story in a second. I did say this and I find it to be fascinating. There's a link there between what we're seeing from Chris Paul and his leadership and style being embraced and kind of the culture change we've seen in Phoenix and he's kind of gotten to run his own franchise along with his coach. There is a parallel there between that and Tom Brady. Right?

like Tom Brady likes to put off that he's great and easy to deal with or whatever, but like that guy, he's not. He may not be the level of how Chris Paul has been viewed. But if you find the right setting, the right guys that they just, they need a leader. They need somebody to believe in. And what happens when you're in your mid to late 30s and you've been doing it, it's like, Devin Booker's like, yo, I grew up watching him when I was a kid.

I was playing him on 2K. I remember, like, those images are indelible. And if you can still do it, your words translate better to players. It's a lot like, like you're seeing Jamal Mosley, who's another San Diego guy, Jamal Mosley who, he played at Colorado. He didn't play in the NBA, but he's been a longtime assistant. He's going to get the Orlando Magic job, right? Like what we're seeing from Monty Williams is not just a guy who can draw plays very good after timeouts.

but it's the ability to get guys to look him in the eye and believe that when he says, hey, you're a hell of a player, you just got to play better. Like all these little things triggers that he, there's an automatic kind of respect and relatability and look around the NBA and everyone's trying to mimic that. Right? Chance de Billups, great player.

Monty Williams, great player. Monty Williams is a great player, by the way. People don't know. super talented guy. He had a hard issue that limited him at Notre Dame, but tremendous player. And kind of before his time too, because now, I mean, think of him in positionless basketball. He would be

incredible. Anyway, you know, Steve Nash, a former player, relatable. Like, this, that's what, you want guys that are totally bought in on doing it, but part of it is, I think there's a, and look at Bruce Ariens in

how he's seen as a player's guy and takes it easier on vets. All right, we'll get to that. We'll circle back to that in a second. Because there's another part to it which relates to Brady, which I think is fascinating. Major League Baseball, our game is in Colorado, which means you're going to have home runs

that go at just ridiculous distance, but it's going to be fun. Shohei Otani as both a pitcher and a hitter. Trevor's story, of course, he's like the, are you the mayor? Do they consider you the mayor with all the things they're giving you with people coming to town? No.

I don't know about that. It's pretty cool, though, to have it in Denver and, you know, kind of represent the hometown. So I'm pumped about that. Yeah, it is. But I saw that they had you greeting people, DIY people, at Denver Airport. I just didn't know if that was one of those things. I do this all the time, not just for the Graham. No, that was the first time thing.

Kind of weird, though. I think, you know, my family and everybody's kind of super excited. excited about that. Okay, so you're going to be wearing a POV, a point of view camera when you're in the homerun derby? Yeah, that's right. Yeah, so it'll be, I'll wear it right on the top of my hat for the derby and for batting practice, I think, too.

So it'll be cool, man. Fans will be able to get a pretty sweet view of pretty much what I'm seeing out there. Show Hey, Otani, to somebody who does this for a living, right? who hits home runs, who plays baseball at a very, very high level for a living. To see him do it, I mean, like, look, he's on pace to hit 60 home runs. And then while he's not, is ERAs, it's still below four. It's not, you know, what I think people thought it would be. He's coming off of Tommy John.

But to be in the All-Star game as both and legitimately be good at both and doing both. What is for a guy who plays it, what's that like for you to watch? It's incredible, man. I think, you know, the same thoughts that, you know, the fans have are the same, honestly the same ones that I'm having. You know, it's just kind of something we've never seen before at this level. You know, the way the things that he does and the way he makes him look so easy is something that obviously I've never seen before.

So it's something that, you know, garners a lot of respect, I think, from the players. I know I can only speak for myself, but. A lot of respect, seeing him do both of those because it's, I think a lot of people don't realize the mental capacity it takes to do both of those at that kind of level. And, man, he's doing an incredible job. It was kind of an amazing moment when Nolan Aronado came back. Obviously, wearing a carge uniform, that's got to be tough. The fans, Gabe Mastanding O, he's a great player, of course, was there the whole time you're coming up. What's that been like for you considering, like, you're still with, this is the only franchise you play for watching Nolan play for the cards?

Yeah, it was weird, man. It was, you know, a weird feeling for sure because, you know, he had a lot to do with me kind of growing as a player. And, you know, he mentored me a lot. You know, we became really good friends. And we had a special bond and we still do, you know, but. It's a little bit different when you're on the same team and, you know, fighting the same battle. But, yeah, you know, it was weird. But I'm glad the fans gave him a really warm reception because he deserves that, man.

Yeah, he seems to be pretty happy now. All right. The Home Run Derby is going to be sweet. You were almost rookie of the year because you were, I mean, you came out of the box just hitting bombs. What, for somebody, like, we all think we know what it feels like. what is it like your last home run for example the last home run you hit this year was against it was off who Trevor?

Yeah I got you Oh your last home run you hit this year The last time you hit a home run Was that St. Louis? Was that the last one you hit? Yeah I think it was St. Louis. Who was that off? Who was that off? Carlos Martinez

Tell me about it. Okay, so take me inside your mind Tell me about the ad bat. Yeah. You know, I know, you know, Martinez is a really good pitcher, and he's been around for a long time, and he's, you know, I think he's got the best of me for sure. And, you know, my plan was just to go up there ready to hit, and I got a fastball middle of the plate, and I was on time for it. And for me, man, like, I'm really not trying to hit on runs.

I'm trying to hit, like, line drives. my swing just kind of natural has some lift to it I was able to barrel it and they got the air a lot of times when that happens for me good things are going to happen for sure what's that feeling like like you know to what is what is the feeling like of bat to ball

barreling it squaring up a fast ball exactly exactly as you would anyone would plan yeah I mean there's not many better feelings you know it's really hard to describe, but I guess just the, you know, you practice that feeling all day in the cage, you practice it, you know, you're visualizing it and hoping that it comes, comes to fruition in the game. And when it does, you know, there's just a, you know, hitting a home run is very rewarding and you just get that, that feeling of, you know, rewardingness that you, you know, you worked really hard for it. and just the almost the no feeling of the ball off the bat is pretty special.

Yeah, just that that pure feeling, right? Like, who, that was that was pure. That's a, that's a no-doubter. How long, have you hit first base before you snap out of it and you go into the home run routine? Like when between that feeling of nothingness and understanding the balls going out to when it kind of clicks it, I'm hitting a home run, I'm in my hood, I got to run fast. Are they going to give me the business? or like how long does it take to you to snap out of it?

Man, for me, I'm like, I'm trying to enjoy every second of that, you know? Yeah. Because this game is really hard and, you know, those times, you know, you kind of got a relish in those times. So for me, man, I'm, you know, when I feel the click and, you know, I know it's gone, I'm taking that, you know, the whole trot to kind of just download that feeling in my mind in my heart and, you know, have that, you know, enjoy that time. But obviously, you know, I'm not trying to show anybody up.

And I want to get around the bases in a good fashion. Yeah. No, listen, I mean, Matt Holliday is obviously former Rocky. He's a great friend of mine. He's like, this is a game of such failure. You have to celebrate successes. Anybody says you don't celebrate success when you're only, you know, getting that sucker in play four times out of 10, you know, it's a hard one.

Okay, so how do you train condition for the derby? Because having been to them, like, it ain't like just BP and going around. It's like you've got all this energy. You've got a full stadium. You're trying to go yard. You're lifting stuff a little bit more.

Like, have you, are you conditioning to try and win this thing? I am. It's something that, you know, we're taking seriously. And, you know, especially with it being in Denver, you know, me kind of representing the home club. And, you know, it's something that, you know, conditioning-wise and training-wise that we've added some things in. And obviously, you kind of got to keep your eyes on today and playing for today. But, yeah, you know, added some things in there, some extra core, some extra med ball stuff. I went out there and practiced kind of the format of it all, and I feel good about it, man. So it's, yeah, it's something that we're being proactive about. It's something that we don't want to kind of sneak up on us and then affect us physically. Who's thrown to you? Who's thrown to you?

Mike Redmond, he's our bench coach. He's actually thrown to Stanton before in the derby. And so he throws me every day during VP, so me and him are pretty locked in. Middle in? Is that what you want? You middle in every time? Yeah, yeah. That's the honeyhole for the derby for sure.

McGregor lost him last time. And he went on social media and showed that, that Dustin's wife was trying to message him, DM him on IG. Now, there was nothing salacious about the attempted message, but there was a request to message him, but he put it out to the world on social media. Like, I know that Connor McGregor's press conferences

are second to none, and some people dig that sort of stuff. Ariel Hawani is going to join us upcoming. I do wonder, like, didn't that cross, like, every possible line? Doesn't that cross every possible line? Plus we got more of these stories. Keff Jean-Kade, which I think means Jeff Kincaid, whatever, making fun of it.

My friends and I play Turkey Bowl every year. I had two ACL tears when I was 19. Now I play all-time QB to avoid further knee injuries. I tore my ACL for a third time rolling out while playing all-time QB. Yeah, old-man injuries suck, dude. They just suck. Speaking of old man, by anyone's estimation, Tom Brady is an old guy, right? For a football, for a football player.

For a basketball player, Chris Paul is an old man. I'm going to hypothesize for a second that I believe, I truthfully believe that one of the reasons Russell Wilson was super upset early in this offseason was he was sitting next to the commissioner of the national football league. He's sitting next to Roger Goodell. and he's watching Tom Brady go untouched in the Super Bowl. And oh, yeah, by the way, he's throwing to Antonio Brown. Now, the reality is anyone who's watched Russell Wilson play, from his greatest fan, Colin Calhurt, to the biggest hater there is, Aaron Rogers.

Anyone who's watched Russell Wilson would legitimately say, like, hey, one of the reasons he gets hit a lot is he holds the ball a lot. Now, he may tell us he holds the ball a lot because he doesn't have that many guys to throw to, but whatever the reason is, he holds the ball. Right? Okay.

But he's sitting there next to commissioner. He's like, dude, this guy's like 40 years old. He's untouched and he's got Antonio Brown who was working. I could have had Antonio Brown. They didn't want to listen to me. Aaron Rogers is mad in the offseason. Is there a portion of it that he's mad that Brian Gunning Cuns took a quarterback? Yes.

Is it because maybe they didn't draft a, a wide receiver? Sure. Is it that he is upset the play calling at the end of big important games like the NSC championship game? Yeah, why not? But as at least a portion of it is, here he is slugging it out. Tom Brady threw three picks in the second half and still one and takes off his helmet and looks like a god. Right? It's like there's glow around him. Greatest of all time, I was the better player, but I don't have the better team. I'm in the cold weather. He's in the cold weather. He's in the warm. I look like a grisly old man. He looks like a million bucks. What am I doing? I think a good

portion of the unhappiness with Rogers and Russell Wilson is the success, health, safety of Tom Brady. You're like, man, you know, it's like your significant other. What I mean, you guys are leaving the kids, you're just going to Vegas for a weekend and why don't we, why don't we do that? That's what they're saying. Chris Paul has had a remarkable season. He's paired with a coach who he's been paired with before. There's that familiarity. I remember when he was young. They're both veterans of both coaching, okay, of life and I guess basketball as well. If you're, how many veteran players you think are sitting out there going like, man, if I just had that, you know, put me on one of these teams with a bunch of 23, 23, 24-year-old dudes who can all hoop, never get tired,

never get hurt. Give me a coach who is a vet, who I know, and give me the ball, and let me run the team. The jealousy you see from Russell Wilson, the jealousy you see from Aaron Rogers, I guarantee is there. Like, do I, do I, some, Russell Wilson and Aaron Rogers can be their own worst enemies, right? like Aaron Rogers probably should have run it on second down, not alone third down, maybe even fourth down, and they'd be fine.

He didn't. Like there's no, Aaron, you know, there's never any accountability, especially when you're mad and you're blaming other people. Could Damian Lillard be better on defense and be a better, sure. But there's no way that Damien Lillard doesn't look at that and goes like, all right, well, now I got my veteran coach, like get me some of those young dudes like Chris Paul has.

give me a Devin Booker. Do you think we win some games? Give me a DeAndre Aiton. I think there's a parallel there in terms of the jealousy and how guys are going to look for their new homes, searching for veteran players to play veteran players. That just breaks down on you. And this year is the perfect example of that.

Let's get to Ryan Music with the news. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. All right, Doug. Let's hit a couple of stories here real quick. quick before we bring on area Hawani. Let's turn our attention to the NFL. Cam Newton just posted a new video on his YouTube page today,

but it was actually filmed back in September of 2020, where he said that this was finally he started to feel normal and healthy again. Last time I've been healthy, honestly, 2016, I threw an interception. I went to go make a tackle. I tried to push the guy out of bounds. I extended my arm and I just messed up my AC joint. Ever since then, there's been a part of me. It's like a wounded dog, like a wounded lion.

I'm just not right. I feel good at times when I'm running. I can still feel it. So instead of running them over, I'm just going to turn my shoulder and go down. So interesting from a couple of perspectives, considering he said he hasn't felt right since 2016. I know, and you and I have worked together for years.

You've said he hasn't looked right for years. And it's interesting that he said he's going to just go down because he actually led the Patriots in rushing touchdowns last year. Look, I think. think it's honesty and you and I talked about this back when you were on my show where like the big thing with cam Newton was no one has believed he could throw a football well and I think everybody has seen that he's not healthy and the the question is it's not just his health but can his fundamentals be fixed because as you lose your arm strength you need the rest of your body more

and it's pretty obvious the patriots are betting on that on some level now remember the patriots It's only three and a half million dollar contract. That's a backup contract. But at least he's admitting what most people knew, which is his arm has not been right over the past four years. And quickly, we will turn our attention to golf and the Open Championship. Have you seen this video that's been making the rounds on social media? Yeah, Rory McElroy getting ready, you know, just sort of on the tee box,

hanging out with this caddy. His bag and clubs are sitting right there. And seemingly out of nowhere, a random. fan gets out onto the T-box, like very casually, by the way, not like frantic as if he's like sprinting over there, like trying to get away with something, just very casually walks up, walks over to Rory's bag, takes the clubhead cover off his driver and grabs an iron and looks as if he's going to start taking some practice swings. And if you see the video, it's, Rory's almost dumbfounded. He's like, looking at the guy, looking at his caddy, going like,

is this actually happening? Is there a fan, like, out here? You know what it felt like, it felt like one of those TV shows. Remember that TV show? What would you do? Have you ever seen you guys? Have you ever seen that one? Like what would you do?

Like there's a baby and a stroller that's like coming down a hill? Right. Yeah. How would you react? How would you react? Right?

You almost feel like, wait, my on camera? Or for the, for those of you old enough, candid camera? My on candid camera? Or is this real? Apparently it was real. It was a bizarre, bizarre thing. And that's Ryan Music with the News.

Like Conn McGregor obviously crossed over and was a superstar with Floyd Mayweather. And obviously he made so much money there that it was hard to.

reel him back in and he is still a guy who the pay-per-view buys, the box office. I mean, look, the press conference stuff, you always know you're going to get something, I guess, entertaining. I think it crosses over to a place where you're like, yeah, I just, it's so over the top stuff, right? So over the top. But he still does move the needle. I guess, look, my question is, at what point in time does Connor McGregor take enough

L's to where he doesn't. You know, he doesn't drive the box office. When is the point? Like, look, it's fair to say, like, we make it out like he loses every time. He's 22 and 5. His opponent who beat him last time is actually 27 and 6. I guess this just a question becomes how, is this one of those,

hey, we all want Connor to be back and be competitive. because he's, you know, he's crossed over and he's got, he's got his whiskey, he's got all his money or whatever. But in terms of the legitimacy of his ability to compete at the top level of his craft, does he still have it? And how big is this weekend? Ariel Hawani, MMA, insider for the ringer joins us here in the herd. Ariel, how big is this for, for Connor?

First of all, Doug. Hello, how are you? Good to talk to you again. I don't know if you remember me, 1999, Pan American Macabee Games, you sat on the bus together, you were singing,

blame Canada. I was representing Canada. You were playing in Mexico City. Do you have any recollection of this? I do. I do. I do. That is a great memory.

You know, like, if we're going to share, we're going to share Mexico City stories, like there's only two worth sharing. They told us, I don't know if you guys had this experience. We're in Mexico State, they're like,

hey, look, this is the most dangerous city in the world, okay? and oh yeah, by the way, you're Jewish, so they probably don't like you very much, right? So you can't leave the hotel except to go across the street to a Burger King, right? So next to the Burger King was a liquor store, right? And so we're like, hey, close to that.

Like, they share a wall close enough. And so we went to a restaurant one night and we had shooters. Now shooters for people, right, which is like half Sprite, half. tequila, you hit it on the table, it fizzes up, you drink it, you barely taste the tequila. So we came up with the idea of like, why just have shot glasses? Why not have a full glass, half tequila, half sprite?

And that's my recollection of Mexico City. Well, you know, us Canadian boys, we don't like to get into trouble. We were very, very anti-shooters or anything of that nature. So those aren't my memories. We did make it to the bronze medal game. You guys won, right? You had David Bluthenthal of UFC on your team. You guys won, right?

Yes, we did win it. We won it, yes. Yeah, so you were in the division above me. Anyway, I just always thought that was cool because I was a big college basketball fan at the time. And I was like, oh, my gosh, there's Oklahoma State Doug Gottlieb. We actually sat on the bus together, and the South Park movie just came out that summer in 1999, and you were all singing Blame Canada because we were sitting there with our Canadian track suit. So I was a bit of a baller myself back in the day, so nice to talk to you again, some 22 years later.

By the way, first 45 minutes of that movie? might be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Oh, tremendous. Yeah. They ran out of some material, and it's an amazing movie how they wrote it and the music that they put to it or whatever. But the first 45 minutes are spit out your drink funny. It's a very, very, very funny movie.

All right, let's get to work here. Let's put you to work. Yes. I don't know if this is the last big one for Connor, but it feels like a big one for Connor, doesn't it? It is a big one. A lot of people are trying to throw out the narrative that this is a must-win situation for Connor McGregor.

If he loses this fight, he's irrelevant. Complete hogwash. I know the UFC wants you to know that or think that because they want to sell paper views and tickets and all that stuff. Look, it's a big fight. He will have lost two in a row if he loses this fight. But let's just be real here. Losing to Dustin Poir, who is arguably the best 155-pounder in the world, which is the UFC's glamour division. It's their deepest and most stacked division.

That's nothing to scoff at. And yes, I know he lost back in January to Dustin. But again, you lose to him twice. Like some of the best fighters on the planet have lost to Justin Porier. So could you say, all right, he'd have to take a step back and build himself back up? Yes, absolutely. If he went to this fight, by the way, he gets a title shot. So there's certainly a lot at stake.

The big question is people want to know if a loss against Dustin will be an indictment on the state of Connor McGregor's career. And at the end of the day, this isn't something that just Connor McGregor is dealing with. It's something that every great fighter of yesteryear who has experienced some kind of fame and fortune has dealt with. It's what the late great Marvin Hagler once said. It's hard to wake up at 5 a.m. to pound the pavement when you're sleeping in sat in sheets. Connor has hundreds of millions of dollars to his name. Has he lost the edge?

Has he lost the fire? Has he lost the desire to be the very best? I guess we'll find out to some degree tomorrow night. Look, I know that one of the great things about UFC is like the gray areas, the lines of where you can go during a press conference. are almost non-existent. But the social media with Poirier's wife,

does that violate any code of UFC or even Connor Greger Ethics? Well, definitely doesn't violate any code of the UFC. I mean, there essentially is no code in the UFC. The president of the UFC, as you know,

is not exactly the most PC of, quote, quote, presidents or owners in sports that's Dana White. They do have a code of conduct, but they never, I mean, enforce it, and they certainly don't for any of the superstars. I have long felt that religion and family should be left out of it, of course, when Connor fought Habid Ramayev. Both those topics were broached, you know, the shots at the Muslim

community and also Connors' family, excuse me, Habib's family as well. But, you know, this has happened in the fight game, not my cup of tea. I'm down for trash talk. I think, I typically think like all is fair and in love and fight promotion, but I wish, you know, wives and kids and religion would stay out of it. It just gets a little too personal, but Dustin didn't seem bothered. In fact, you leaned into it afterwards. You call that a press conference. It was a press conference, I guess, officially that's what they entitled to it, but it was

a bit embarrassing in terms of the questions that were being asked, and the whole scene was a little bit embarrassing. But, you know, that's what the UFC wants. They want that kind of, quote-unquote media at their press conference. They want that kind of scene, and they got it. it certainly wasn't the worst and it certainly wasn't the most embarrassing and it wasn't the most inflammatory that we've ever seen. Greg Hardy, legit fighter?

I mean, he's earned his stripes. He's a part of a real team. They all speak very highly of him. One of the best teams in MMA, American Top Team in Coconut Creek, sleeping in the dorms. Like everyone says, he's very respectful. He has no ego, anything of that nature. He went, you know, the distance with a pretty good heavyweight named. Alexander Volkov a couple years ago.

I would call him, you know, a mid-to-belo-tier heavyweight at this point. He's not a contender. But, you know, he's fine. There have been worse fighters in the UFC. I think he'll lose this fight tomorrow against Tai Chi Vasa, but he's not embarrassing himself out there. Yeah. He doesn't look like a football player trying to, he's getting.

At least he's respectable, respectable. Yeah. Outside of the obvious, Poirremer Greger, What's the fight on the card that you personally think is the most enticing to watch? The co-main event is a fight between two guys who are very well respected and very, very good. They're two 170-pounders. Gilbert Burns just fought for the welterweight title in February. He lost to Kamar Usman, but actually rocked him in the first round.

He's going up against the guy named Stephen Wonderboy Thompson, who's one of the nicest human beings walking the face of the earth. I mean, he's just an unbelievable guy. an unbelievable fighter. He comes from a karate background. So you have Gilbert Burns, who's coming from a jujitsu background, likes to go to ground, but has developed into a really good striker and a very hard hitter

against Wonderboy, who primarily likes to stay on his feet. So I think that fight, in addition to the stakes, in addition to the fact that the winner, you know, puts himself in a good spot in the Waterway Division, as far as, you know, the talent, and just the match-up, it's by far the second most intriguing fight on this card.

Last thing, the thing, I've wanted to ask you, because we haven't connected. You walked away from a lot of us. Colin walked away from, I walked away from. How's it been? It's been good. I think you're talking about that place in Bristol. Yeah.

No hard feelings whatsoever. It was my dream. I grew up in Montreal, and I always wanted to work for the four letters. And it was an absolute dream, and I have no regrets going there. It probably lasted a little shorter than I suspected when I first got there. But sometimes, as you know, you climb a mountain and you look around and you say, all right, well, this was good. And I want to go climb something else.

And I don't really love it up here. And as you also know, you know, if you want to cover something fairly and critically and independently, it's hard to do so for the rights holder. And this is no knock on them. They are the rights holder. And it's great for the sport that you can as a rights holder. But for someone like me who at times is being told to say certain things, or more importantly not say certain things, it's a tough spot.

So no hard feelings, but I'm much happier now. That's great. That's awesome. All right, well, let's catch up and maybe we can share. They're called poppers, by the way. I screwed it up. They're called poppers. We'll share a popper or something.

Enjoy Vegas. Great, crazy weekend in Vegas. I mean, crazy. I know you're going to be front and center for Garth at Allegiant, right? That's your... Absolutely. Garth, Deaconne and Dustin. Deeplo, I think.

He's like that same age, too, isn't he? How was Tom Cruise? Tom Cruise is 59. So those are those are the biggies, right? Those are the biggies.

And I threw it out on social media. What was it? A couple weeks ago was a boring day. There's no basketball was over really. Like favorite Denzel movie. And you start to go through. You're like, oh my God, there's a lot of Denzel movies. Well, today is Tom Hanks' birthday.

So I thought we do the same and the best for last. After almost three hours, Colin apparently hasn't gotten to the point yet. Quit holding out on us, cowherd. It's the best for last. Okay, so here's what we need, right? We need five movies that stand out amongst the rest, right?

That they're the best five Tom Hanks movies. The problem with it is there's so many. I guess also do you go, Ryan, I need a little, I need phone a friend here. Okay. Do we count Toy Toy Story? So, I think so. Um, because he's basically one of the very main focused characters in that movie.

He is the main character. He's Woody. Yeah. He's Woody. Okay. So you're, so, but, so I have to pick which Toy Story to go with, though, because it's a... Trilogy? Or did they do four?

Look, I, uh, they did Thore. Sure. Sure. All right. So here's... Toy Story four. Yeah, 2019. Well, the one one issue is like, again, my high school days, you had, I mean, think about this,

which you had like in back to back to back, almost back to back to back movies. Like he had, and this is how he was rolling. He had big. He had Turner and Hooch, a league of their own, Sleepston, Seattle, Philadelphia, Forrest Gump, Apollo 13. That, that, and for, and Toy Story, that was all in a five-year span. They dropped. And saving private Ryan was, was 1998. I mean, the decade of the 90s was.

was all Hanks. All hangs. All hangs. All right. Here we go. Here's my five. Do you want to start it? Do you want to do the number of the countdown? Number five.

Number five. Big. Big. Right? Because one, I, everybody said when I was a kid, I looked like Josh Baskin, who's the little kid. Secondly, there's a bunch of you want to sleep. You want to have a sleep over?

Okay, but I'm on top, right? There's a bunch of great lines there. But it's just the idea of what would it be like to go back and be a kid or to have a kid live an adult's life. And him getting to act like a kid, which is pretty much dad parenting 101. Big is my fifth best Tom Hanks movie. Number four.

Philadelphia. Obviously, he plays an iconic character. His weight loss was dramatic. He was, and it was at a time of where we didn't know so much about AIDS and HIV. We just, we just didn't. And it was one of those, here's the biggest actor. I mean, honestly, the two greatest actors of our lifetime, both in the same movie in Philadelphia. So Philadelphia is number four. Number three. You may understand that I'm not going to list Forrest Gump, because I don't think it was that good of a movie. I just don't. Number three, I'm going to go sleep

in Seattle, an iconic rom-com. Rom-com, yeah, rom-com movie, right? Obviously, there was a sequel to it and you got, Mayo wasn't truly a sequel, but it was still kind of the same. There's so many parts of that movie. Also, call-in radio show, right? Coast-to-coast, call-in radio show. So we'll, I'm going to do that as number three.

Number two. Toy Story. I'm going to say toy story toy story toy story. Let's just do Toy Story 1. It was about Woody. It was about Woody's

journey home as he was felt left in the dust because of Buzz Light year. I'll do Toy Story as number two. Number one. And the greatest Tom Hanks movie, again, this is just me, Doug Godley, filling in for Colin.

The greatest Tom Hanks movie by my estimation. This does not have to be yours. It just has to be mine. Is a league of their own where he plays Jimmy Dugan, who's the washed up, former players, got the bad knee,

he's got the peeing scene, he's got the baseball players. Baseball, I got girls. I don't have baseball players. He's unbelievable. A league of their own is one of the best sports movies that has ever been made

and he was phenomenal in it. All right, discuss rhyme music. I totally forgot about a league of their own. Yeah, that's a great number one choice. I know, I'm sure he's probably more of considered the supporting actor, but I've always loved, um, wow, catch me if you can. Great movie. Yeah, it's, it's more a Leo film, but he's very good in it. Yeah. It's kind of reprising a little bit of his dragnet role. Yeah. Only a serious dragnet role as opposed, right? And then castaway is fantastic, but it's just hard to list it amongst like a favorite movie just because it's kind of a

one and dunner. I'm not sure I loved Castaway. You know, I got to, that's one I might have to go back and watch. Bachelor Party, obviously a good one as well. Have a great, safe, and happy weekend.
