Next hour, Jake Paul, five minutes, Chris Brousard We're going to play a little game of buy, sell, and hold, NBA topics, sorts of NFL news today and Joy Taylor, how were things on a Friday? Got a big weekend planned? I do. I'll be in New York City. Oh, my God.

Are you serious? I don't know how you do it. I'm really not going to be in L.A. for the rest of the summer on the weekends. I don't know how you do it. I'm dead serious. I love to travel. I know. We couldn't travel anywhere last year.

And then there was a point where you and I weren't even allowed to leave L.A. County. I know. We couldn't even go to Orange County. No, thanks. Can't leave the county. why you can get on those planes? Because you wear a mask. I do wear a mask. Now, now, you don't have to wear a mask. You could drive to New York. Yes. Yeah. I would get there on Tuesday.

Right. And that's what I want to start with this hour. The NFL yesterday came out and said, listen, get vaccinated or your past is going to be more difficult. The NFL did not tell you, you can't criticize it. The NFL did not tell you, we'll imprison you. We will monitor your speech. They just said you'll have a tougher path. All leagues tell players what to do and they have no choice. The NBA once initiated a dress code telling African American players, we don't like this, don't wear that, wear this. And players complied.

And the NBA once changed the ball. Did not give the players a heads up. And last year, the NBA created a bubble in the middle of a pandemic. and told players, you will not leave the grounds. You can. It's your choice. But you'll be out and letting down your city and your teammates and your coaches. And players smartly complied.

The NBA had the Sonics in Seattle. Then they moved to Oklahoma City. And you know what the NBA told the players? Time to move your family. Call U-Haul. And the players had no choice. It's not ideal. but that's the way American business works.

Baseball umpires now occasionally frisk players when they walk off the mound. Don't like it. It's called the minor leagues. You do not have to get vaccinated as an NFL player. You don't. But the NFL said yesterday, well, then your path will be a little more difficult if you do get COVID. Delta Airlines, American Airlines, United, you don't have to wear a mask. It's called get in your car and drive to Texas, not fly there.

All you non-vaxxers, you do have choices. But get over your ego. So to businesses. Fox has choices too. So does Delta Airlines in the NFL and the NBA. What about my freedom? What about it? What about your boss's freedom?

He's got litigation and lawsuits potentially. I'm going to get my lawyer. Oh, good luck. Good luck suing your big corporation. I was on an airplane a couple weeks ago and I heard somebody say that. I'm going to sue. Oh, it was adorable, I thought. Sue Delta Airlines and their team, their floor of a building of lawyers.

Good luck. I wish you the very best. You have choices in America all the time. But the path will be more difficult if you choose the path. of we got a pandemic, it's not over, and by the way, it's not, and you choose not to get vaccinated. Your business has choices too. And like a lot of times with capitalism, the guy with a bigger wallet wins the argument. Yeah, I don't win a lot of arguments with this company and the one I used to work with.

Why? Because they got a bigger wallet. I walked into this company one day and I had to wear a mask and I had to walk in one direction to my office and I had to walk one way to get my food. and I had to stand eight feet away when somebody else was ordering, and they stuck stuff up my nose three times a week for a year. And I had a choice. I could have quit. I could have, I'm not going to work.

And by the way, I had a contract, so I could have been paid and not work. But then I would give my audience work, what Joy and I have worked so damn hard to build this thing, that I would have given my audience to all my rivals at other networks. And I'm like, no, it's not ideal. I'm going to be a team player. I got vaccinated. I still had to wear a mask here.

I got vaccinated. It still had to get tests. It drove me nuts some days. And I had choices every single time. I got a contract. God pay me. But it's just, I'd rather lubricate than agitate my business. So we're all going to be okay.

We're all going to get through it. This thing is heating up again called the Delta variant, not after the airlines. It's exploding a little bit. And the NFL is trying to get ahead of it. But whenever I hear you talk about your personal freedom, just remember. I'm being a capitalist here. Businesses, they have rights too. The NFL's run by billionaires.

I'm not one, nor are you. Lawyer up. I wish you the very best. All right. So I play a game occasionally called buy-seller hold. And I thought, you know, Chris Broussard, he's getting ready to take a big vacation. He worked so hard during the year. Then the NBA finals.

And then Chris goes on and he probably gets on a wakeboard somewhere with his family and his kids and has the greatest time. So before he leaves us for months, and we don't even see him, he doesn't even send a postcard, he just disappears. I thought, let's play buy-seller hold with Chris Broussard on some NBA topic. So let's bring Chris Broussard on our show. So we're going to play a little game here before you take out the best-dressed man in the history of Fox Sports.

I swear to God. And our bosses blush when they walk past Chris Broussard. He looks like a million bucks. So we're going to play a little game here. Joy will teach him. us up on questions, and you and I'll give opinions. You ready to go? Let's do it. All right. All right. Buy, sell, or hold, Janus is the best player in the NBA. Okay, buy, by an inch, here's why. Because the NBA is 70% offense and 30% defense. And though he's not

Kevin Durant or Steph offensively, he is so dominant defensively, and I get him every single night that availability matters. He is so profoundly dominant on the defensive end that I'm going to buy an inch over Kevin Durant and two inches over LeBron and Steph. I'm going to call him the best player in the NBA. So that is a buy for me and buy sell hole. That's a buy. Broussard, your turn. I'm buying it as well. You already pointed to the defense. Obviously, he's much better defender than KD or LeBron. Who are the other guys challenging him? He's a much better rebounder than either of those guys. And offensively, Colin, what I saw from him in the finals is what I want to see going forward,

at least until he improves his jump shot, dominating the interior. That's what he needs to do. He is so quick, so athletic, so shifty inside, and he gets there in different ways. He's not just posting up on the block that he's hard to stop, basically unstoppable in there. And when he was on the perimeter against Phoenix, he made the right decisions. He didn't force jumpers. He didn't settle for jumpers. He made good passes and reads.

If he plays like that, he's the best player in the NBA, so I'm buying it. All right, buy sell, hold, Joy. The bucks are the next NBA dynasty. All right, I'm going to go hold. They have a spurs look to them with a dominating big on both ends, who's humble, coachable, grateful, and nice surrounding players. But the Warriors are going to go strong after Dame and Bradley Beale. Brooklyn, I think, is going to come back strong.

And I think they may move Kyrie eventually, go Harden KD in a bench. I'm going to put this on hold. It's still not a great free agent destination. Middleton is a hot and cold number two. Hold for me, Chris, your term. I'm saying sell, all right? That doesn't mean they won't win another championship. would love for them to become a dynasty.

And when I'm, I'm thinking dynasty more in the Golden State or Jordan Bulls. I mean, that's obviously the high end, but that type of thing more so. I do consider the Spurs a dynasty. Yeah. And that certainly is possible. You know what I mean? They never, they never repeated. They won five championships over 15 years.

So if you're saying the bucks could win four in the next 12 years, Okay, but for this question, I'm thinking like, do a three-pe or win two of the next three or something like that. And I'm going to sell that because Brooklyn. Brooklyn, now there's question marks about Brooklyn. Will they stay healthy? Will they stay together? But I'm going to say Brooklyn's too strong. Let's say what Philadelphia does.

Let's see where Dame Lillard goes. With the player movement nowadays, guys won't hesitate to create a super team that can take down the bucks. And who knows what the Lakers will end up doing this offseason. One last shot from LeBron. This could be his last really great season. So I'm going to sell on the dynasty. Damien Lillard will be a blazer next season by seller hold.

Well, actually, the question I have is will he be traded? So will he be traded then, if that's what you would do? Okay. Will he be traded next season? Will he be a, well, will he be a blazer? I'm selling that. I would sell he will be a blazer. My reasoning is this.

They're right in the middle of the NBA, good enough to make the playoffs, not good enough to win multiple series. And if you start looking, what do they have beyond Dame to get a great player? I think you could trade Dame for Chris Paul George,

but I don't know what this organization can do to get a, I mean, I'm sorry, but Ben Simmons and Dame is not a championship team. I don't think you get through the West. So I sell, I do not believe he's a blazer next year. Chris? I'm going to buy it, Colin.

I'm buying it. And here's buying that he's a blazer next year. I think he gives Chauncey Billups one year. All right. Look, they've had a top five offense for the last few years. Their problem's been defense. What is Chauncey Billis' background as a player and coach? Defense.

So if he, he's going to try to sell Damon. Look, if we improve on this end of the ball. the floor, we can play with anybody. And remember, Colin, a championship in Portland would mean more to Lillard personally, as well as for his legacy. If he could win it with his own team, I think he'll give Chauncey one last chance because look, who's the world beat her out west? The Lakers, maybe, all right, AD, what's his health going to be like? LeBron? Is he old? His father time really got him. The Clippers, Kowice out. Denver. and Phoenix and Utah and Golden State, who knows?

Like, who's the world beater out there? So if I'm Chonty, I'm selling him one year, let's try to make it happen. If it doesn't happen then, I think he moves on. All right, Colin, buy seller, hold, the Lakers acquire a star veteran point guard. Hold, we're talking Chris Paul. I think there's a 15, 20% chance.

The reality is, LeBron and Chris are close, one, two, I think LeBron could get in his ear and say, you and I are in the same boat. Old, want a title. Phoenix doesn't have the roster to compete with a big physical Milwaukee team. We have Anthony Davis. We have a player that says good or better than him. I think you could sell that to Chris Paul.

He loves L.A. He's lived in L.A. I think he has a house still in L.A. L.A. is also a bigger version of Phoenix, not quite as hot in the summer, in a bigger business community. So I think there's about 20% chance it happens, 15, 20%, so it's a hold for me, Chris. It'd be great for the league. It'd be great for us.

It'd be a huge storyline. But I'm going to sell it. And I'm not considering Kyle Lowry a star, and I don't think Chris Paul's going to go there because of money. You gave all the good reasons he could go to the Lakers. I think they'd have a better chance of winning him a championship than Phoenix would if he goes back there. But he would have to basically go from making it. $44 million next season to about $6 million next season with the Lakers. And even, look, he's made tons of almost $300 million as a player.

So he's made tons of money. But he's the president of the Players Association. And he's got to be concerned what type of precedent does that set? And he could do it and I wouldn't be mad at him. But other teams would use that against other players. hey, Chris Paul turned down $38 million to go win a championship. He was first team all NBA that year. Why don't you do it?

So he's got to be aware of that scenario in his situation. So I think he's back in Phoenix. He sounded like he was coming back after the finals. The Warriors make the biggest move of the off season by Seller Hold. Strongest buy for me. They have two lottery picks in James Wiseman and the Andrew Wiggins contract. know. Clay Thompson now's had a couple injuries. Steph's had a few

injuries. They are for the next couple of years on that timeline, a contender. Dramon's getting older. I think they have movable pieces, movable two lottery picks. I think they will go big. Philadelphia and the Warriors to me are going big.

It's a buy from me. I'm with you on this one, Colin. It's a buy. And they also could do a sign and trade with Kelly Ubrae too. So that's just another option they have into it. addition to the ones you mentioned, look, they've got to maximize the Steph Curry years. They may never, in fact, they probably never get another player as good as Steph. So maximize these next, what, four, five years maybe that he has playing at a high level

and try to win as many championships as you can. They're in the new building. Make it rock. I'm with you. I'm buying that the Warriors go big. Buy seller hold. USA basketball will win gold. Okay.

It's a weird. weird roster thrown together, sell, they win as silver, they lose in the championship game, close. Listen, it's a weird team. It's basically completely built on the three-pointer. They are so talented that I think they'll march through a lot of these games. I wouldn't take too much from the Vegas losses. But when you get, remember, the international game, they don't call them any fouls.

They allow a lot of physicality. So these international teams are going to push and bump and pull, and this is what they do. I think they'll be well-coached enough and talented enough to get the championship game. But I have a weird feeling that their style of play and the international officiating is not ideal for them. I think they lose in the championship game. Am I completely nuts, Broussard? No, I'm very tempted to go with you, but I'm going to go with a soft buy. A soft buy. All right, but I'm buying ultimately, all right? And here's the thing, Colin, I like like the additions of the finals guys.

Like, you know, there were some people throwing out Patrick Beverly as a guy they should add to the team when some of the other guys had to leave. And it sounded crazy, but it made some sense. Yeah. Because, like you said, they let you play more physical defense. Can you imagine what Drew Holliday is going to be able to do defensively in international ball when they really let you get physical? So I love Holiday for this team.

And then I add Booker and Middleton as guys that you. you know can get their shot whenever they want it with Lillard and KD. I think this gives them the depth that they need to win it. But I'm a soft buy, but I'm a buy. I could be convinced a buy because I'm rooting for a buy. I hope it's a buy, but I think it's an interesting roster. I think they get to the championship game. And I think they have some blowouts.

And Popovich knows what it. We'll learn a lot Sunday. They play France Sunday. France is tough. We'll learn a lot there. Hey, Broussard. You can take the suit off now. Go hang out in a wakeboard.

Do whatever you do in the summer, buddy, with your family. Good seeing you. I'm hitting the beach, baby. I know you are. Peace. All right. Chris Brousard. Good stuff.

Yeah. It's not that I want our team to win. You know, I'm jingoistic enough. I root for America to win medals. But it is a weird roster. I think we all got a little scared with the games in Vegas. Yeah. I don't take a ton.

from them, but I tell you, it's something. It is something, and Popovich said they weren't all in the greatest shape, and it's, you know, these other countries have played together more consistently. I'll go to a buy if they route France. Listen, stockbrokers make mistake. They have to catch up Monday when the bell rings.

This is not what you're rooting for. It's just your prediction. I think it's going to be, I think they're going to get to the final game and it's going to be interesting. Cross your fingers. I'm going to ask you if it's petty. Well, I am Queen Petty, so I should tell me that. You have a, you know, you have the barometer of what is petty and not petty.

And so I'm going to, I'm going to say something about Aaron Rogers, but I don't want to come across as petty. Okay. I tend to just talk. I have notes and stuff, but I talk. But when I talk about Baker Mayfield and Aaron, I think I have more notes because my takeaway is people perceive me as anti-Baker. I'm not, if you take everything I've ever said about him, it's a 50-50 split. It's some of I like, some of the stuff is nonsense. Aaron Rogers, it's a 75-25 positive, but Aaron just tends to be a guy that's like Kevin Durant.

90% of what I say about Kevin Durant's positive. I thought leaving the Warriors to Brooklyn made no sense. I'm not leaving Steph or Kyrie. I'm not. Physically, mentally, emotionally, I'm not. So I got to say that. So I'm going to say something here after Hurdline News. And you tell me if I'm being petty.

Okay. All right. Joy with the news. No, no, no. Turn on the news. This. is the herd line news. Well, Michael Thomas is expected to miss the start of the 2021 season after undergoing surgery back in June. The procedure was to repair ligaments in his ankle stemming from his injury last

September. The recommended four-month recovery timetable could keep him on the sideline for a few weeks. So the Saints are now reportedly looking into the free agent market and could work out some receivers in the next few days. He missed nine games last season, had 40 catches for 438 yards and no touchdowns in seven games in 2020. Now they do still have Alvin Camara and Latavius Murray, so their running game is great. Yes. And then they have Treyquinsmith, DeA Harris, and Marcus Calloway as their wide receivers. But this is a big loss.

Now, look, he's not going to be gone for the entire season. No. But he did miss significant time. He's coming off of surgery. This is going to be an interesting year for the Saints. And it's not, you know, it's funny, Joy, I was thinking about this yesterday. It's not a rebuilding year. No.

It's a rebooting year. Retooling. Yeah, like the roster still top 10 in the league. It's not as good as it was. They had to sell off parts, right? But in the end, it's a reboot. It's not a champion. First time in a decade, I don't consider them at Super Bowl team.

It's a reboot. Like, by the way, New England last year, they weren't terrible. It was a reboot year for New England. This is a reboot. You're not a Super Bowl team, but you could sneak your way into the playoffs. Yeah, I could see them sneaking into the playoffs, but they don't know what their quarterback situation is going to be. Now, if they had, they were going into this season, like, James is our guy 100%, and we're

just going to see what's going on with Tassum or Tassum is our guy. We don't know who the quarterback is going to be, so that's a big question. And then as far as the entire energy and direction of the team, that means that's not going to be determined until training camp. So you have an entire offseason of unknowns in that situation. Now Michael Thomas is going to miss a few weeks. We don't even know how long. And when he does come back, he's going to be coming back off of injury.

Now, I think he's going to be fine long term, obviously. But there's a lot of questions now. Now, what does this mean? Well, this is all good news for Tom Brady. I know. Like, that's what it comes down to. And I love the Saints last year. I think they did a really good job of going all in on Drew Breese's last season.

Didn't work out the way they wanted it to, obviously. But they were aggressive and put it all out there. And that's what they should do when, your Hall of Fame quarterback is in his final stretch. And now, to your point, they're retooling so that that happens sometimes. But you have the bucks at 13 and 4. I agree they're going to easily win this division. I have the Saints at 9 and 8.

So I have the Saints and the Vikings and the Cowboys and the Niners all at 9 and 8, but I have Dallas and the Niners getting in because of tiebreakers. So I have them in the hunt the last two or three weekends. So again, it's a reboot year. Like New England last year, I thought they'd, be kind of like, you know, a couple under 500. Yeah, and I mean, if Cam hadn't gotten COVID, they would have had a few more wins, I think. And then having him having to recover from it.

But at the end of the day, as usual, it's good news for John Brady. So Texas and Oklahoma on the verge of joining the SEC. The move has reportedly been in the works for at least six months and is almost done. God, the SEC is just, they just, I mean, I swear to God, you know why Joy? because it means more to them. And when something means more to somebody, they go all in without hesitation. And in the South, college football's king.

And the fact that they kept this quiet... That's actually very impressive. In today's world, if you have the capability of keeping anything from leaking out, you're doing something right. Or you're dealing with very, very serious people. If you were the athletic director of Texas... Yeah, you could tell no one.

Okay. You had to have me... meetings with this SEC Commissioner, and you could not call on the phone in your office. You probably had to have multiple Zooms. You're praying somebody who works at Zoom.com is not a Longhorn or a or an M Aggie. I mean, you had to go. Yeah, you had to go deep. So I have a buddy that's a coach, a huge college basketball coach.

He loves where he's at and he's never going to leave. But years ago, he gave one school an opportunity to pitch him. He had to drive two hours from his hometown in a SUV and meet in a rest area. This is a massive, massive, this is a historic move. Now, they're not, they're expected to inform the Big 12 on Monday that they won't renew

when the league's grant of rights expire in 2025. So this isn't happening immediately, still for years left on the deal, but it's, it's happening. And I understand your point from yesterday that this is going to add a, like Texas may not realize what they're getting into. Oh, I don't think they do. I don't think they realize what they're getting into. But the money is going to make that not matter. That's right.

But just let me tell you something. A lot of people make money and then six months into it after the paychecks. Every time I've gotten a raise, it matters for about two checks. You get a raise and you're like, I'm going to go buy this, this is. And then the bottom line is, do I like who I work with? Am I happy with my work environment? It didn't, my dogs like me either way. That's all it matters.

My wife likes me. So, I mean, you can get all that money in the SEC. Yeah. But just know that you're probably now of the six best roster in that conference this morning. Because Oklahoma's is better. And you're joining a place to your point that really cares about this. So the pressure is now going to be turned up. There was pressure before, but now it's really going to matter because the expectations have now been raised.

Okay, Bama's got better players. Oklahoma's moving with you, has better players. A&M's got better players. And M. Florida. Yeah, I'm not worried about Oklahoma. I actually think there's a lot. They'll be fine.

They will now be known as the Guardians. The change will go into effect after the 2021 season. They released a video that we're showing now. It's great. By the way, Tom Hanks is the narrator. It's fantastic. I mean, I mean, I am dead serious. It is really well done.

No, I actually love it. They've kept a lot of the, obviously the colors are the same. The writing is the same. And I like the logo. I am 100% for this. It was the worst. Like, with the Washington football team, this logo was the absolute worst in all of sports.

It is remarkable that it took this long. Now, the Guardians apparently, there is some connection to bridges there or a bridge. and people in Ohio know what it is. There's something about this bridge and guardians, and I don't know what it is because I'm not from Cleveland, only been there once, but apparently that nickname resonates with people in Cleveland. Well, I like the logo, and like I said,

they didn't really change much of the actual aesthetic of anything except for that hideous logo and the name, obviously. Listen, the name that matters is Cleveland. Yes. It's Cleveland's team. That's the name that matters, folks. It's the city name. I mean, I'm not entertaining anybody that was, that's upset about this, but things change and it's going to be okay.

So I, when I talk about Aaron Rogers and Baker Mayfield, you perceive me as anti, although it's ridiculous. I take more thought into it. So I'm watching Tom Brady celebrate with all his teammates yesterday. And I'm watching Janice the day before celebrate with his teammate. So that's what I have seen for the last 48 hours. Tom Brady, you know, Aaron's sort of iconic rival last night laughing and celebrating and such a good teammate and such a good dude. It was such, I watched as much as I could. It was so funny.

Gronk was there. It was so great. family and coaches in the community and the friends it was awesome and i i worked in tampa for two years i you know it's one of those organizations i'm happy they're doing well because the city loves the team um it the fans are amazing when i was there they had a crappy stadium now they have raymond james which is way better and uh it was really cool the stuff was really cool the city deserves it they have been loyal forever they love their bucks to nice city and i'm totally happy than the day before I watched the most humble, grateful attitude in American sports, Janus,

who is impossible not to like in Milwaukee. And I'm sitting there and tell me if I'm wrong. But this morning I woke up and I thought, where's Aaron? With his Hollywood friends, texting his media buddies to get his message out. Where is he? because the two guys I just watched, one in Aaron's town and one Aaron drivel, all I think about this morning with Brady is team and family and fun and joyful. And I think of Janus as grateful and humble and family and friends.

And when I think of Aaron this morning, I think disengaged, a little manipulative, a little petty, a little vindictive. Am I wrong? No, I don't think it's great timing. We talked about this the other day. The Bucks winning and Yonis' personality and just everyone embracing him from all around the country and just the hard work and he didn't leave and there's no super team and now Tom Brady. Like it's not great timing for what's going on with Rogers. But I think Ryan Rassila made a good point with us yesterday that if we knew what was happening, like I think we support Aaron because we should.

feel like Aaron is smart enough that he wouldn't be doing this unless it was really a good reason. But we don't know why he's necessarily the victim. Like the whole thing is very vague. So it's starting to kind of snowfall away from him. I've seen this iconic rival last night. I mean, Tom was so happy. The players were so happy. And I've said what separates Tom and Aaron is not the football stuff. It's the leadership stuff. It's the burl through crap stuff. And I just, I watched that video all last night. I'm sitting there and I'm like, God, it's just such a joyful, wonderful thing. And I mean, Tom didn't burrow through.

I mean, he burrow through until he didn't have to. And then he left and went to Tampa. Yeah. But like, he went to an overall better situation. But he did it with a different attitude, like a different messaging. I guess when I juxtapose Brady, he's his iconic rival. And Janus, not his rival, but his other city star. And the last two days, it just screams family and leadership and commitment and loyalty and likability and connectability.

And I'm like disengaged, texting your buddies, vindictive. It's not a good look. It doesn't, it's not a good look. I mean, again, I know that anybody in Wisconsin won't listen to me. I get it. No, I don't know. I don't, I think, I mean, I don't know many Packers fans to solicit this opinion. but I would imagine it's probably not going over very well.

I mean, you saw the bar made the Crybaby 12 beer and like it could start to turn on him. I'm not going to say I ordered two cases of that. I'm still on Aaron's side, but I do think at one point or another, the messaging is going to have to be less vague. Like we kind of need to know what the issue is. That's fair. All right. So that wasn't heavy handed. No.

And look, he doesn't know anybody anything. But if you don't want to talk about it, if you don't want to put the true messaging and the bottom line out there, then people are going to spin their own narratives. Like, that's how it goes. So according to an article in The Athletic by Jason Quick, a Blazer executive told this sports writer, I don't think Damian Lillard wants to leave. He's built an empire here. But we have to assume he's

leaving so he doesn't leave. Time out. What part of his empire couldn't leave Portland? It's built on his basketball game. And secondarily, it's his music. They have studios here in Los Angeles, Dallas, Philadelphia. That's delusional. Empires don't usually keep getting knocked out in the first round. There's nothing that Dame has created in Portland that could not be duplicated. And I'll give you an example, is that LeBron James net worth two years ago was about $600 million.

in two years in Los Angeles, it is now a billion dollars because of his TV production business, Blaze Pizza, and his deal with Warner Brothers. He has increased his net worth, LeBron James, in two years, by 40%. Damien Lillard is a basketball star and a music star. Maybe you've heard, Los Angeles is good at those things. Now, I'm not saying he has to go to Los Angeles. It'd be fun to watch him with Mark Cuban and Luca and Dallas. I think in Philadelphia, the Sixers would automatically have to be considered a viable championship team or at least an Eastern Conference champion. And this is not a shot at Dame or Portland, but he wears zero to represent Oakland.

His heart is in Oakland. He plays in Portland and he's a great player and a great guy and got a great business. But Portland, don't get ahead of yourself. Mr. Executive, do not be delusional. There is one empire in the state of Oregon. It's called Nike. That is an empire. The second biggest employer in the state of Oregon is something called Daimler Trucks.

It's not dames. We looked. It's spelled differently. So, you know, I'm not telling him to leave. But this idea, well, he built an empire. His empire is based on two things which historically have done better in Los Angeles than Portland. Basketball and music. And he's really good at both.

I mean, he's like a legitimately can do the music thing and make money at it. Like it's popular. And I'm not saying he doesn't have camps in Portland. I'm not saying he didn't have all this stuff. I don't know the breadth and the depth of all of it. But you'd be amazed how you can move empires. If the governor of Oregon was difficult to fill night, you could move that empire right over to Idaho or Washington State tomorrow. I remember as a kid I grew up in Seattle.

We had Boeing. They make planes. My whole life, that was the biggest employer in the state of Washington and high school. And now they're in Illinois. And by the way, Toyota used to be based in California. I didn't like the taxes. Now they're in Texas. And Elon Musk, he was in California.

Now he's in Texas too. empires move all the time and so and dame is in the middle of his prime he's probably got three good prime years left and then he's a shooter he'll play two or three years after that and i'm i'm sure he's done a lot of stuff beyond basketball in portland i am not you know i looked it out he doesn't have a restaurant i know of um you know he's got some camps probably the music stuff uh he's beloved there no question but if you don't think empires can move across state borders you could move Nike tomorrow, if California had no state taxes. Like our state tax rate was like Wyoming or Washington.

Now, if that was the case, 90 million people would live here, not 35 or 40. But if we had no state tax here, Nike would move here tomorrow because Oregon's got a big state tax. So don't kid yourself. Well, the source is a blazered executive. Well, he's a little delusional. He might have a little more incentive to, you know, exaggerate. the situation. And I agree with you. I do think he, I think he wants to stay. Like, I think he desires to stay in Portland. And I'm not denying, I mean, empire seems a little much. Like,

LeBron's got, to me, LeBron's got an empire, Brady's got an empire. There's not a lot of empires in sport. And if I say to you, Joy, and I'm talking like Brady has, the TB12, he could eventually sell that for hundreds of millions of dollars. That's a real company. So that's an empire. I would say, who else has an empire? LeBron's got an empire. If you have a shoe, Steph is really close. Steph.

Steph's got an empire. I would say, I would say, Katie. Katie is a shoe. He has a production company. So Katie's got an empire. So Katie, Steph,

LeBron. Brady's got an empire. And I think that Brady and LeBron are on another level. So I mean, and those are, and by the way, Kevin Durant and LeBron, a big part of their empire was California.

Yeah. all those, you know, all those connections in Silicon Valley. I mean, LeBron had the number one movie. Well, the three, the number one family movie of the weekend. The three biggest empires in the NBA are all Californians or former California. Steph Curry, LeBron, James, and KD. And by the way, Katie did not have an empire in Oklahoma City.

He did not. No, no. I think it's starting to go and Satan, and now he's taking it to Brooklyn. I'm not saying Dame doesn't. Well, I think that's not a reason to not leave. And if your goal is to win a championship and you can't do it there, what's better for your empire winning a championship or staying in Portland and potentially never winning one?

By the way, Dames from Oakland, the warriors are interested in Dame. I don't know. It feels like this is a wait until after the Olympics situation. I think Dames basketball stuff, does he have a popular shoe? I don't know if he does. Maybe he does. Yeah, I'm sure he does. But I mean, his music would explode potentially in, other markets, New York or L.A.

Or San Francisco. Wouldn't it? I mean, Dame's a big deal in the music business as it is. I don't think it's like Portland has to make drastic moves. If they're not going to do that, then I don't think he's going to be there. It's just it's time. I guess
