It was a pretty amazing trip, but I'm glad to be back. Wow. I'm ruined, though, for food for life. Yeah, you can't eat normal tomatoes the rest of your life. What are we going to do? I love tomatoes. It's ruined. It's over.

You know, it's great to have you in today. and I was one of those kids came from a divorced family. I never resented the kids who went to the prep schools and went to the colleges that were paid for and didn't have to work in college or at a state park or in a fishing boat like I did because I always knew there were kids who had it harder than me. I actually had a dad that, you know, was an optometrist.

That's way better than average. I had a loving mom. But sometimes in America we often resent people who have it, quote, easy. And we shouldn't. because there's two, three, four different lanes to end up with the life you want. And this morning, I am genuinely happy for the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen, their quarterback, who got a $260 million contract.

And I'm not just happy for him because he and his family are now rich. I am happy because the system in America that we have provides avenues for both kids who have it a little easier and kids who don't. They're a little gangly. You don't come from a lot of money. But in the end, in America, my mom used to say this, my late mother who grew up in England, they've got a royal family. You're born into it or you're not. That's not America. People often look at Josh Allen and say, well, I mean, he wasn't very good his first year. How come you're so hard on Tua and Daniel Jones? Let me tell you why. Because Josh Allen didn't go to a perfect high school football power. He went to Fireball High School.

Look it up. You won't be able to find it. His dad, a regular guy, sent tapes and tapes and tapes of his son to the local college, Fresno State. They weren't interested. He didn't have great high school coaching. Then he went to Wyoming. This is not a knock on their football coach, but he has a losing record. and that's with Josh Allen. As much as I like Lamar Jackson and Baltimore, he had Bobby Batrino, a great coach. As much as Baker Mayfield has succeeded, let's give Lincoln Riley some help, a great coach.

When Josh Allen got Brian Daibel, the offensive coordinator at Buffalo, it was the first elite offensive mind he'd ever have. I have nothing against Daniel Jones. I have nothing against Tua. but I will expect more from you because you did the kind of prep school elite college route. One of you had David Cutcliffe at Duke, one of the brilliant college offensive minds. And Tua had Nick Saban and Sark.

I've said before I am far less patient on quarterbacks than I've ever been because we have an ecosystem now for quarterbacks where they have 10,000 snaps by the time they're 11. But Josh Allen didn't. He didn't come from big money. He didn't go to a big high school. He didn't go to a big college. He didn't have an NFL guy in college. Josh Allen is the story that also works in America. And congratulations to the Buffalo Bills.

Because in America, we are a home for capitalists. And there's a lot of money for the prep school route. And there's also a lot of money if you trust your instincts and you get a kid from Wyoming that is really big and gangly and throws a lot of intersections and he's not refined and he's not polished and you just trust him and you surround him with great support. That is not just an NFL story. It's a story all across America.

And Jordan Palmer, the quarterback coach who has worked with him and spotted him early, talked about Josh Allen, his situation and why it is a perfect fit. he's worked really hard he's developed he's ahead of a lot of people's schedule if there was one but he's also in a spot where Brian dable Brandon bean brings and makes these moves to get him and then they build around him Josh Allen deserves a lot of credit for his success but what terry and Kim pagula have done to not just go get him but the pieces that are around him he really is in one of the most desirable situations that you can be in by the way, do not resent those who have it easier than you do.

Don't. That path works too. But the two highest paid quarterbacks in the National Football League are Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, uncoachable traits and incredibly coachable attitudes and a football life full of bumps. The struggle's real. You can get there that way, too. All right, let's shift gears to the Jets. Probably won't talk a lot about them this year,

so let's give them a little love or not. They drafted Zach Wilson. Zach Wilson reminds me a little too much of Johnny Mansell. Small, cocky, and comes from wealth. Hope he does well. there's a little Johnny Mansell here. But I heard a quote from his coach this weekend, and we've just got to put a stop to quotes like this,

and I'll explain it after. So Zach Wilson really struggled this weekend in a simulated game. He was bad, really bad. I mean egregiously bad, and his coach was there to defend him. For most rookies, especially on the offensive side, but for everyone, it's going to get worse before it gets better. It is what it is. There's just a lot of things that happen.

I mean, there's a reason why being a rookie is hard in this league. There was a Hall of Famer yesterday that was inducted in that had a 71 quarterback rating his rookie year. It's not easy to play quarterback in this league as a rookie, especially quarterback. But it is going to get worse before it gets better. But he's at that point now where he's going to be able to stack up days. And we got all the utmost confidence in him and his ability and his ability to figure out the mistakes and correct them and get to a better place. Okay, new rule, I add another new rule every month. Let's stop comparing quarterbacks who played 23 years ago to today.

Okay, you know I love Peyton Manning, Peyton Manning and the Manning family are American football royalty. The Hall of Fame this weekend was just all sorts of awesome. So this is nothing against Peyton Manning. But Peyton Manning played in a different era. quarterbacks today have four things going for. Number one, every rule is built for offense. Number two, most of these college quarterbacks enter the NFL, you know, with much better

coaching. Number three is the offensive coaching in the NFL today is better. And number four is, in the 90s, receivers would not go over the middle. There used to be a term called alligator arms because you could take their heads off. Every team had maybe one receiver. The Cowboys had Michael Irvin, who was willing to go over. over the middle and get hit. Now, all receivers love to go over the middle because you can't hit him. So let's stop with comparing stuff. Peyton Manning had a much tougher life. And Peyton

Manning is saying, well, his dad's Archie Manning. Back then, like Marvin Harrison, I'll play one side of the field. Guys didn't want to go over the middle of the field. The offensive coaching now is so sophisticated. We've got to stop that. So let's just stop that. Zach Wilson's reality is much closer to Lamar Jackson or a Baker-Mayfield than it is to Peyton Manning. And I'll give you an example of this, just how quarterbacking has changed, is I'm going to give you a rock star quarterback from every decade. And these are all great. And this is not a criticism of any quarterback.

But this is how the world has changed for quarterback. So I don't want to hear about Zach Wilson and Peyton Manning. Like, you know, by and large, unless you had a Josh Allen trajectory, which is high school, college, it took you a while. Just think about this. Joe Namath. Broadway Joe, his completion percentage in the NFL was 50%. And he's a Hall of Famer. John Elway was a rock star in the 80s, early 90s.

He completed 57%. Troy Aikman was a rock star in the 90s. He completed 61%. Peyton Manning's a rock star in the 2000s. He completed 65%. Drew Breeze's last five years in the league, he completed 72%. Okay. So again, this is not a criticism of anybody.

But the reality is when you start looking back and go, well, Peyton Manning, don't. The game now is different. We are watching a different football game. By the way, it's a better football game. It is a safer football game. It's more offensive-minded. I'm all for it.

But the NFL today to me is much more enjoyable. I can remember years ago, 20 years ago, when Peyton Manning broke into the league, the promotional videos weren't great catches. It was hits. They were selling like, hey, buy this tape, buy this tape for the biggest hits in the NFL. You look at that stuff. Now you're like, you get thrown out of games. Because somebody's going to get hurt here.

The NFL's never been better. They finally figured out. We didn't watch the games for defense. We watched them for quarterbacks and offense. We watched them for running backs and wide receivers. Everybody always says, oh, I love defense. No, you love your great defense. But if I told you that the opening week of the NFL, the average score,

was 29 to 27 or 14 to 12, which would you take? You tell me, what teams do you watch? I watch a lot of the Packers and Aaron Rogers. I watch Tom Brady games. I watch a lot of Peyton Manning games. I didn't spend a lot of time last year, you know, watching the Jags offense. So I'm rooting for Zach Wilson, but let's not go back 25 years with quarterbacks and go, I mean, look at what Peyton Manning faced. You saw the eras.

You saw the rock stars. If you don't complete now, 63 to. 64% you either have a bad coach, a bad offensive line, or your team should be on the phone, looking for another quarterback. Be sure to catch live editions of the herd

So when I am trotting around America on jet skis with my buddy Eric this weekend, just being an idiot, when I'm doing things like that, people often come up to me and say, hey, how do you think

Baker Mayfield's going to do this year? You'd be amazed how often they do it. And I say to them, I don't know, I think they're pretty good. Do you think he's going to get a contract? Yeah, I think so. And I want to talk about this because Josh Allen got a massive deal. deal. Now, here are the quarterbacks that got drafted in the Josh Allen class. Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson. Josh Allen was the first to get paid big money. That's the way it should have worked because he's the best quarterback of them, Lamar Jackson, second, Baker, third, Sam Darnold right now, fourth and Josh Allen, fifth. So the best player got right now I think he's the best player at that position, Josh Allen. Size, huge, arm,

insane. Athleticism, wacko, crazy good. But maturity appears to have a lot of it. 288 million. Baker Mayfield, size, he's short. Athleticism, not great. Arm, good enough. Maturity got his issues. He deserves about half of what Josh Allen gets.

But Baker is going to get paid. And there are two reasons why. One is the Cleveland roster is excellent. I think he has an excellent young coach, as far as I can tell. I think he has an excellent young general. general manager, he's going to win games. But the second reason he's going to get paid, it's not about having a great agent. Baker has great leverage, and it's called fear.

Companies are often petrified of going backwards. And Cleveland, the bar is so low that Baker may feel, by just getting them to a playoff game, is viewed as a savior. Just consider this with Cleveland. Baker last year was the first quarterback to just start. Just start every game in a season in 20 years. There have been 33 starting quarterback since their previous playoff win. When people who have struggled, often through their own dysfunction,

get a little taste of success, oh, they do not want to risk going backwards. Baker Mayfield doesn't even need an agent. He has the leverage of fear, and Cleveland's going to give him a big contract. Their NBA team in Cleveland, what a shock. It's a mess again. Their baseball team in Cleveland, what a shock. It's rebuilding again. And their football teams actually really good.

I mean, people are talking Super Bowl and stuff. In Los Angeles, Jared Goff got the Rams to a Super Bowl, and they bailed on him two years later. Why? Because Los Angeles is a dynamic sport city. The college football team USC has won seven national titles. The Lakers have won a bunch. The Dodgers just won. L.A. Kings have won a Stanley Cup. Los Angeles is a home of winners.

Fear is not what drives us here. The state, Silicon Valley, evolve, adapt. But in Cleveland, they won a playoff game in football. they're not moving off their quarterback. I mean, think about that. Jared Goff, big contract, got to a Super Bowl. They're like very L.A. Well, it's good.

Good. Our goal's not to be good. They got rid of it and gave up picks. Because fear doesn't drive the Rams or the Lakers or the Dodgers. It does in Cleveland. So congratulations. Baker, you're going to get a big contract if you don't screw it up, and I don't think you will. I don't think you deserve Josh Allen money, and I don't even, I don't think anybody,

any reasonable fan thinks you do, but you're doing something that Cleveland doesn't experience much, and it is the reason that even if you didn't go to the playoffs this year, and we're 10 and 7, but pretty good, you're getting the bag. Right, and you have a budget. We've all got a budget. I've been going through this for the last several months. You have a budget. You've got to make sure with a budget you spend the money in the right places. You know, that if you ever had to sell your home, you don't waste money on a kid's bathroom.

You know, you spend your money on kitchens. Make sure you spend it on floors, sometimes a master bath. You know, spend it on the stuff, we can get your money back, all right? Or the stuff like your roof that you can't get the house sold because it's, it's bad. Like there's certain things you've got to spend your money on with the house. Well, it's the same with an NFL team. You just can't pay everybody.

Sometimes I listen to young media. They want to pay everybody. It's a salary gap. You got to pay your quarterback. You got to pay a great left tackle, ask Patrick Mahomes to protect the quarterback. And then there's usually a defensive captain or a great defensive player pay up. There are certain positions that are more valuable than other positions. I wouldn't pay punters a lot.

safeties, he better be great. So right now Seattle got a little bit of an issue. They got a left tackle. He's Dwayne Brown. He's really good. He's really valuable. And Seattle, to me, has three got to keeps. You got to keep Russell happy.

You got to have a left tackle to protect Russell. And you got to pay Bobby Wagner, who's about as good a linebacker as the NFL has had since maybe a Luke Keeckley and Ray Lewis. I mean, he's great. I love Jamal Adams. But he is a safety. And I like KJ Wright. He wants to get the bag. I'm not paying it.

Here's Russell Wilson. Now, Dwayne Brown is at practice, but he wants a new contract, and he's not practicing. And this is the best division in football. You cannot mess around with Dwayne Brown. Period. Here's Russ. Not having Dwayne Brown out there's a pretty significant deal because I think he's one of the best left tackles in the game. There's no argument.

I think he's, you know, as good as it gets. There's nobody more athletic, more talented than he is. You know, age is just the number, you know. So we definitely want to be able to get him back out there, you know, and we got to figure that out because, you know, we need Wayne Brown. There's two things here. Number one, when Brady went to Tampa, Russell Wilson's been hit a lot.

Aaron Rogers has complained about this. You don't have to do everything the quarterback won. But we've had multiple guests that come on this show. Albert Breer said this last week is that quarterbacks need to be comfortable. Aaron Rogers, can we keep Jordy Nelson for another year? It makes Aaron comfortable. You keep Jordy Nelson. Jared Cook, the tight end, made Aaron comfortable.

His quarterback coach made Aaron comfortable. That's not being needy. That's not being high maintenance. Now, Aaron's perpetually discontent, so he's got different personality. But when it comes to Aaron Rogers' quarterback coach or a favorite receiver, just pay him. Just, just, just, just, like the Randall Cobb thing, I think they paid way too much. But the argument is he makes Aaron comfortable. That's where Green Bay says, we probably have to overpay for Randall Cobb, right?

Tom Brady brought in Gronk. Didn't pay him a ton, but they paid him a lot for a guy. past his prime. It makes Tom comfortable. You got to look at Russell Wilson's career. He's had the, you know, you know, bad O' line running for his life. For him, Seattle's done a really good job getting him some very athletic wide receivers. Seattle's front office got him, Doug Baldwin, undrafted, Lockett, D.K. Metcalf. In fact, you know, Metcalf fell in the draft. Seattle went all in. So Seattle deserves a lot of credit for this, their front office. Russ has always had really captivating weapons.

They've done a good job drafting receivers. Offensive line, not great. So it's the NFL. And Seattle, I'm a kid that grew up there, right? Like my knock on the Seattle front office, and I see this a little with the Rams and a little with the cowboys, they're very top-heavy. And that leaves you very thin if one of your stars gets hurt.

Seattle's been very willing to just surrender draft picks. Okay, let's not, I get that. I'll give up a first round pick for, you know, Jalen Ramsey. But the value to draft picks, second, third, fourth, fifth, six round draft picks is when they hit, you got a free player for three years. In Seattle, they only had three draft picks last year. They've gotten into kind of a win now thing like the Rams, Seattle to even a higher degree. They're just giving away draft picks. They gave up two for a safety.

Jamal Adams, who I like. That's too many draft picks. You can't give up two first for a safety. I don't care who the safety is. So now they're in a situation where they got to pay Dwayne Brown. Translation, you got to start keeping some of these draft picks, and they've got to hit. You know, this is not baseball. Where the Dodgers should just go by Tray Turner and Max Scherzer and we'll figure it out later.

It's not the sport. You got to hit on some of these draft picks. One more herd? The herd streams 24 hours a day. seven days a week within the IHeart radio app. Search heard to listen live or on demand whenever you'd like. I tend to think people who are professionally successful. It's not about IQ.

It's not about this. It's what are your habits? I tell my kids this all the time. What are your life habits? Are you dependable? Do you work hard? Are you responsible? And it's interesting.

Tom Brady, obviously, is that to the nth degree. But Ariens comes to Tampa, a losing culture, where good was always good enough. And then what did I say when Brady went from New England to Tampa? Joy is my witness. I said it a dozen times. My only concern is he's a winner. They're losers.

Will they be able to handle Brady's intensity? I never worried that Tom could play. The idea that Brady's arm is shot is dumb. Watch the games. It's not as good as it was 10 years ago, but Tom's still got a top 12 arm in the league. Accurate, smart, got a really good arm. But I said, my concern was, man, when you are intense and you are a winner and you have

great habits and you then walk into a building where it's 4 o'clock, I'd watch film, but hey, Ebor City is rocking tonight. And we watched early last year. Tom in Chicago, barking, barking, barking at teammates, scream. dreaming at them. Good is not good enough, player. It's not good enough. So have you noticed Tom Brady in this camp throwing his helmet, dog-cussing teammates? Bruce Ariens also a winning history ripping his players. Here's Bruce Ariens yesterday. After a day off, our offense just stinks. And they're going to break that habit. But defensively, they answer

DeBelle, they came out and dominated the entire practice. And it was good to see. Drop passes, missed assignments on basic plays. It's just a lack of concentration. Back in the day, we'd be out here running the shit out of them. But that don't work anymore. Go to jail for that stuff now. They just got to grow up and man up.

I mean, it's been identified. So you've got to fix it. I'm not going to fix it. You got to fix it? You think it's a coincidence that Brady and Ariens are all over these guys? There's a reason. Those guys are winners.

They're intense. They have a history of winning. They have high standards. Arians doesn't need to coach. You can retire. He's got a lot of money. Brady doesn't need to play. And both of them are afraid of something that's very real.

Is when you give people who are satisfied with good enough, a taste of success, and you pay them. everybody got paid in Tampa. It's just natural. Most humans aren't self-motivated. Just slide back to, go to Ebor City tonight. Got a little time. I'm single.

Got a little time. Ariens and Brady are all over these guys because they know when you don't win and then you win and you get paid. Big boy money. It is very natural. Most human beings are not self-motivated to just Just a little slide back. Leave a little.

Never forget, Brady's first Super Bowl following year, they didn't make the playoffs. They weren't terrible. New England wasn't terrible. They were nine and seven. Just weren't quite as crisp offensively. So this was my concern with Brady. Winner into a losing culture.

Tom yelled, screamed, fought to a championship. and he is going to make sure he and Ariens, I guarantee it. They've talked about this stuff privately. I guarantee it. Brady and Arians are like, we're not going backwards. Because I was in New England. We won a Super Bowl. Next year, we didn't make the, we didn't get,

it's natural. Everybody gets the bag. Everybody gets their money. You've been in locker rooms like that. When you get the big contract, it's easier to leave work a little early, is it not? 2011 we got laid with the dream team by my man Vince Young I love him to death but man we all got paid I got paid awesome why got paid Vince got a little money everybody got a dollar an extra dollar and you know we started out all in four or maybe one and four um to my recollection but you know it's easy to get complacent man like you say you get that bag you get that money and you know it's all other type of distractions like you you can easily be in practice and think about your house in South Beach. For real.

Like, it's the real thing. So, you know, I get what it going. I understand, you know, Bruce Arion is taking. You know, right now is the time to be honest with the guys and be hard on them. Because it's so easy to get sidetracked with what, you know, you've been given and all the splendor that's in front of you. You know, it's interesting. Josh Allen didn't go to a powerhouse high school.

He didn't go to a powerhouse college football program, and he struggled his first year in the NFL, and I was saying, listen, you know, there are quarterbacks like Peyton Manning who have a dad that played in the NFL, great high school, great college, and they should be better early. And then there's the Josh Allen's, and I look at him and I think, well, hell, where did he come from? And a lot of times, Mike, these quarterbacks go to a bad organization, a city that's impatient, or they never get. the great coordinator. And so Josh Allen, to me, had he gone to Jacksonville, he could be a mess right now. He'd just be a talented kid who can't get it right. Go back to your NFL career and the value of a strong support system. I mean, it's everything, especially for a quarterback.

And when expectations are high, year one and year two, because we set high expectations ourselves as quarterback. So we can't exceed those expectations. if we don't have the proper, you know, players around us. And, you know, I was at a football camp, the University of South Carolina, speaking, you know, with the guys yesterday. And, you know, as we went through practice and I was just out there talking to some of the guys, I realized that the most important part to an offense is the offensive line.

You know, if you don't have an offensive line, if you're not clicking on all cylinders in that regard, then the quarterback is going to fail severely. And you're not going to have a chance to even. attempt to win games. So, you know, while the support cast is probably the most important, you know, you have these guys who are drafted high super talented, super talented, but if they don't get the pieces around them, they just don't succeed. It's just the nature of the business on all levels, high school, college, and pro.

Zach Wilson did not look good this weekend. I think he looks small. He looks small. And there's a little Mansell there. he's small, he's a little cocky, comes from some money, and I think, man, this is a hard play. Johnny went to Cleveland. Zach's going to the Jets.

Not great ownership situations. But that's just a scrimmage, so I don't want to overreact to it. What will you see, Michael? What will you see with Zach Wilson? And you will go, okay, this ain't good. Will there be a warning sign for you? Well, what I read in the scrimmiss about the scrimmage didn't surprise me. You know, he's young, and you can have jitters in that first scrimmage.

It's probably one of your toughest practices that you're going to have, especially against the defense that you practice against every day and see the things that you are doing every day on a consistent basis. You're not really set up for success. I judge Zach Wilson come preseason. I have a better assessment of where he can potentially go, you know, after the preseason going into the regular season. And I think he should be a week one starter.

It's not the ideal. place for a first round quarterback to get off to a bad start. Even Mark Sanchez, our own colleague Mark Sanchez, got off to a good start, which helped him, you know, in the latter years. It's important, you know, to start fresh and get the crowd engaged and get the city engaged and, you know, have some amazing moments early, you know, for Zach Wilson to have success, I think. Finally, when you, Russell Wilson came out and he's been very very very.

very vocal this off season. He's like, Dwayne Brown right now is holding out. He's going to practice, but he hasn't practiced yet. Now, he's a veteran left tackle. Dwayne's fine. He'll be fine. He's top five left tackle and football. But Russell's like, we got to take care of him.

And now you were a guy like Russell that doesn't have to have the perfect offensive line because you can run around. But there are players on that offense that Aaron, Rogers, Brady with Gronk, Russell Wilson, that makes them feel more comfortable upstairs in their head.

Did you have a guy that you were just like, it mattered, like regardless of a position, like you felt comfortable coming out of the huddle with blank guy? Jason Peters, when I was in Philadelphia, and he wasn't even on my blind side. He was a left tackle, but he was a guy that I knew, regardless of what, the best defensive player lineup in front of him, he going to take care of him.

And not only that, you know, he was a leader amongst the guys. You know, when Kelsey was young and Lane Johnson was young, you know, Jason was a guy who they could lean on. Jason was the unsung hero in that room. And the reason that the Philadelphia Eagles was able to thrive for a couple of years, even after I left and still to this day. So, you know, I needed Jason Peters. You know, you need that tackle left or right to protect you.

And it's just the comfort level that those guys give you, not just by blocking the best defensive end, but throughout the week when you're sharing stories and you're talking and you asking him how he's going game playing for this guy. You see that he's super confident and know that he's going to take care of the guy in front of him, which could be the best defensive player.

Jason Peters was that guy for me, so I understand, you know, what DeBrain Brown means to Russell Wilson. What did you do this offseason, buddy? Where'd you go? Would you play some, do you work on your seven iron, or what did you do? You know what? I'm about to get around in today.

Been traveling, left the university, went to the University of South Carolina yesterday, and visited with Shane Beamer. He's doing a great job out there, you know, building culture with those guys and now in the SEC. So they're hanging out, spending some time around the game of football, and that's what I love to do, Colin always good to enlighten myself on, new defenses, new systems. Just stay, you know, just stay in abreast of what's going on in the game of football. All right, Michael.

So LeBron James reportedly called, you know, Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony and said, hey, let's get the band together, right? And so Carmel, they're all talking. Carmelo talked, not my favorite player. I don't know him personally, but, you know, whatever. He was a good little fit in Portland.

And Westbrook's not my favorite player, but I kind of get it with LeBron. So Carmelo Anthony was sort of talking about, you know, LeBron. James called him and said, let's do it. Braun came to me one time and just said, you know, I'm, the time is now. Like, I want you. We got to make this happen. You know, I just felt like for right now, I think this was the best time for us. I mean, most people would say we should have got together years ago or early in our career,

but we was in two different, we was in two different lanes. We was in two different paths. We was on two different paths. And, you know, everything comes full circle, I'll say. Listen, when you get into the LeBron business, the present is everything and the future is nothing. Most organizations try to balance that. You want to win now.

I'm not going to mortgage your future. Think of it like this. You know, your 401K is all about tomorrow. Not about today. You sacrifice today for tomorrow. A day trader is all about today. Nobody cares about tomorrow. and LeBron's the best day trader in league history.

That's the business you're in. The opposite of a SEP or a 401K, LeBron's a day trader. Can I make money today? And in the end, I'm going to show you something that's kind of funny. I'm not a Westbrook-Mello guy, right? But like, this is the game you play. This is just three years ago.

This is the Lakers lineup from LeBron's first game as a Laker. So let's put it on the screen. It was LeBron, Rajon Rondo, gone, Brandon Ingram gone, KCP gone, Javelle McGee, gone. The bench was Kyle Kuzma gone, Josh Hart gone, Lonzo Ball gone, Lance Stevenson gone, Michael Beasley gone. The coach was Luke Walton gone and the president of basketball ops was Magic Johnson gone. That is business with LeBron. Now, for the record, Pat Riley in Miami got very uncomfortable with this. Now, Cleveland stinks historically.

were willing to do whatever LeBron wants. But Miami's a great basketball organization. And Pat Riley acknowledged he got uncomfortable with like giving everything away for the moment. But it should be noted that Pat Riley admitted in the last six months, if I had my choice of having LeBron now or not, I would give it all up to get LeBron back. So even though Russell Westbrook is an old 33 and Mello's going to be 37 and the Lakers only have one player, a young player, who they really like is this is just the business. Not everybody has to do the 401K.

Not everybody's comfortable with being a day trader. But you get in a little LeBron. It's about winning now. And by the way, he's delivered. You got the Lakers a title, got Cleveland a title, got Miami two titles. And next year, although I think they're too old, they'll be good. They'll be relevant. They'll be viable.

And depending on Kauai Leonard's health and the growth of the sons or clippers, they may end up again winning the West. I don't think they're going to win the title. I wouldn't be shocked this morning if you told me, yeah, who's in the Western Conference Finals? Lakers are one of the teams. I wouldn't be shocked. As long as AD is healthy, I wouldn't be shocked.
