Los Angeles is a very nice place to live. A lot of nice weather. And Sunday, we're going to have the biggest game in the world here. The Rams host Tom Brady in the box. It's unbelievable. So I'm in a dilemma. I've been invited to the game. But if I go to the game, then I can't watch all the games, which is what I'm paid to do.

So I can come in Monday and not just talk about one. game. God, I want to go to the game. It's amazing. See, now if I can... It's an early game. It has to be the late game. It has to be the late game. It's the biggest game in the world. Well, then why can't you go to the game? Well, because I have to leave at like half time of the early games. It's at 125. I know, but the early window ends. So I don't have the, you don't have the app on your phone? That's not good enough. I have to watch all the games and take notes every day. That's what I do for a living. on Sundays. Yeah, I mean, I watch all the games for a living too, but like if you have to go somewhere for, I mean, well, I guess it wouldn't be five minutes. It's Los Angeles. I'm talking like you have a helicopter. It's take me an hour to get to the stadium. Well, you can go to the game a little bit late and watch that game on the app until you get there. I want to make eye contact with Brady if he's in town. You know, it's so, you know, it's so it's so tough to get NFL games if you have to actually watch all the games. Yeah, that's what you do for living. Like for fans, like it's obviously, sofi looks unbelievable. Oh, it looks fantastic.

I'm going to a Monday night game. I'm going to the Chargers Raiders. Yes, so the standalone games. Yeah, if you have any extra tickets, I haven't been to stuff like yet to sing. All right. So, you know, it's funny. The reason I do a top 10 is because I used to work at another company and they'd put out these lists and they would just have the teams with the best record top 10.

And there's teams. Now, I don't have an 0-2 team on my list today, but I don't, there's several two and O teams. I don't have to put you on. Your schedule's weaker. I mean, what am I supposed to do with the, you? some of these teams. I don't think they're that good. So here we go. Here's the Herd hierarchy on a Tuesday. Heard hierarchy. Time is now. Let's go. The top 10 NFL

teams, according to college. Number 10. Despite their loss, Seattle has the highest passer rating in the league from their quarterback Aaron Rogers. Shane Waldron's the new coordinator and it is a better offense. It's more progressive. They're throwing on earlier downs and the Seahawks offense is averaging the most yards per play in the NFL this year at 7.4. So the loss was disappointing. But what we always ask about Seattle is, could they open up the offense a little? And they have a new coordinator from the Rams, Shane Waldron, and it looks different.

So they still have an elite Hall of Fame level quarterback, an elite coach, Seahawks 10. Number nine. Bills. Don't overreact to the Steelers lost. They totally outplayed him. Time of possession, yards. they were in the red zone four times. They had a punt block.

They have the number two scoring defense, and that is something because they've been working for the last two years to generate a pass rush. They've attacked it in the draft, and if you watch the Miami game, they finally have it. They also have the best point differential through two weeks in the NFL. I still think this team gets to the AFC championship.

Hey, Belichick's had bad losses in September. Don't take too much from the Steelers' loss, bills at nine. Number eight. Now, this is where Colin gets into overreaction territory. I like the Broncos, and I liked them last week. They've outgained their opponents by more yards than anybody in the NFL except a singular team. Now, last year, they had 32 giveaways. But with Bridgewater, they don't give the ball away.

So we said this all off season. This is a playoff roster. This is an excellent roster. Perimeter speed, they blocked. They got a pass rush. One of the best defensive coaches. And now Teddy B doesn't turn the ball over. So to me, I don't think I'm over.

overreacting. I picked them to be what, eight and nine because we just didn't know this schedule was tough, the division's tough, but this to me is a team that is close. I'm not sure if they're there yet to getting into a Super Bowl bubble what I've seen so far. Number seven. Cleveland would be in my Super Bowl bubble barely. They do Baker leads the NFL and completion percentage because this team has a formula. The only question with this team, why I can't make them top five is can they play outside the formula? The formula is they play with a lead, they control and manage Baker. They have seven rushing touchdowns that leads the NFL.

But can they win big games when they trail? The great teams in this league can win a multitude of weight. The score is less relevant. So they have a formula. The formula is working. I think they're very good. They would be on the fringe of my Super Bowl bubble. But they do have the best offensive line in the league and arguably the best running game.

And you go look at when Dak Prescott had that five years ago, they went 13 and 3. That's hard to beat. Number six. But Arizona is so explosive offensively, I put them one spot ahead. I mean, Kyler Murray is remarkable. And the other thing they have, they have two things here that are very valuable, and they go great together. They're dynamic offensively. They score points.

So they're going to lead a lot of games. And what do they have? A great pass rush between Chandler Jones and JJ Watt. That's the old Bill Pollyan thing when he drafted Peyton Manning. We knew we'd lead, so we had the draft pass rushers. So Arizona's got two things. and not a lot of teams have it. A crazy, productive quarterback and a fantastic pass rush.

Only question for them is their division, which is brutal. Number five. Niners by an inch. They're not as dynamic. They're not as fun. But they may have the second or third best offensive line in the NFL. They've only allowed one sack this year, and that's with Jimmy G. They've had major running back issues like Baltimore, so we don't quite know what they are.

I thought winning last week was really impressive. They're running out of running backs. Garoppolo played poorly in the first half, and they beat what appears to be a very competent Philadelphia team. So Jimmy did not throw the ball down the field last week. He only averaged 3.8 yards per error attempt. So it was a very, let's get to Philadelphia, let's get a lead, let's get out of town. They're kind of limping right now, so I may have them a tad high,

but I would have the Niners at five. Number four. Kansas City. Listen, they trailed Cleveland badly in the first half and lost to Baltimore. I've got no questions about the offense, but I've watched two teams run the ball right down their throat. Now, it may be because Cleveland and Baltimore are the two best rushing teams in the league, and it may improve dramatically. But right now, and we all know Kansas City is going to be around at the end,

but I've seen you lose and I've seen you trail, and both teams ran the ball kind of when they wanted to, so I got you at four. Number three. Ravens by an inch. Number one rushing team in the league. We now know they can play from behind. I'm not going to take too much out of the Vegas loss because they lost three running backs the week before. It was a little bit of chaos.

It was the opening game in Vegas. Derek Carr is really good. They got into a shootout. And they could have won that game very easily. So when I look at this team, I look at a team that does something so well. They're literally averaging 220 yards rushing. The next closest in the league is 160. They are so great at running the football and controlling the clock.

That is a great thing to have against great teams. Why? Because you can make Aaron Rogers a spectator and Brady a spectator and Mahomes a spectator and Josh Allen a spectator. Never ever. I know it's a passing league. A dominating clock eating running game is the great equalizer. Number two. The Rams.

Listen, here's why I have them too. I didn't think they played well. And they beat a desperate Colts team on the road. And I think the Colts are pretty good. They had a terrible special teams gaff. Stafford was hit and miss. I did not think they played well. But the fact is, Sean McVezzo has been a great September coach.

Fourth straight ear, they're 2-0. Stafford looks comfortable. They've had between Cooper Cup and Robert Woods. That may be the most underrated tandem in the league because neither one's an over-the-top guy. But Cooper Cup and Robert Woods, they're kind of duplicates of each other. Catch the ball. Great after the catch. Can be spectacular.

faster than you think, I have the Rams at two. Number one. Tampa Bay, although I do have concerns, their defense doesn't have the juice it did last year. You pay everybody on one side of the ball. Everybody falls in love with themselves, and it's not Todd Bowles because we know he can coach. Not that. And we know it's not talent. So why isn't their defense playing as well?

Is the offense ahead of the defense? I don't know. I will say this. Brady looks so ridiculously comfortable. The thing that's underrated about this team is their offensive line. The thing that's overrated is their running back play. It's very hit and miss with Rojo and Leonard Fernette. But right now, you'd be nitpicking not to have them as the number one or two teams in the league.

There we go. Joey, any major disagreements with that nonsense? I'm concerned if you're ever going to be able to go to Wisconsin again. Well, again, so I've watched Green Bay get destroyed and then trail at half. They're number 11 and then trail at half to the Lions. So I think Green Bay fans, I don't think they'll push back. I think Packer fans look and go, we got questions about our defense too. I mean, there's definitely, it's fair to have questions.

I wouldn't, I am not, you are extremely high on the Broncos. I am. I will say this. If those teams you're looking at right now can all play physical, can Greenback. I say the answer is no. Yeah. Those are all, Cleveland can just run it. All those teams either have an elite pass rush, can run the ball, can get physical with you.

I have Green Bay at 11 because I don't think they can. I would also move the Cardinals above the Niners. I think you're probably right there. But, no, I don't have major issues with it. I just, I need. I almost feel like I'm giving Kyle Shanahan the Five and Cliff Kingsbury the Six. If they played, I'd take Shanahan. If the Cardinals and Niners played this week.

I wouldn't love that matchup because they're all, Niners are all banged. I would say it's close. Where's the game at? Where's the game at? I mean, I love watching the Cardinals. I still just,

I don't know what to make of them. That's fair. A little bit of a circus. A little bit of a circus. But it's like it works. Certainly. So is the circus. Who doesn't love the circus?

I'm not a big fan of clowns. I mean, you walk home after a circus. You had too many corn dogs. You never feel great. And you're not, you don't think the animals are treated as well as they should be. Everybody enjoys the circus. I don't know. I don't know.

They're just, they're very flashy. No question. But the flash works. Well, there's nothing wrong with flash. Kansas City's flashy. Baltimore can be flashy. They are, but well, yeah, I don't know. Flash is okay.

I don't know. I like watching the Cardinals. I just don't know where they are. But I would put them above the Niners right now. And I do think that you're not going to be able to go to Wisconsin for a while. All right. 27 years is an NFL front office exact GM for the Chiefs, Patriots, personnel, Atlanta for years and years. Scott Pioly now joins us live.

Hey, come on, the circus? The circus thing? I'm not big on clowns, man. Clowns worried. Clowns worried. Clowns scary. Hey, Joy, you can see you. You too, Scott.

I'm with you on the clowns are the worst. So let's talk. We're talking about this. I was saying earlier today. I mean, we can talk ad nauseum about Brady and he's the ninth wonder of the world. But it is interesting that even the great athletes like LeBron

or Serena or Ronaldo, mid to late 30s, you can see where and tear. Tom's in a sport where he gets tackled and I don't see it. I mean, when you look at him, if you were a talent evaluator, let's say at the end of this year, Scott, you had to make a decision on Tom's

contract. Two more years, three ways. What do you see as a general manager who has to make these decisions on extending contracts to older players. What do you make of what you see with Brady? Well, right now, again, you're talking about at the end of the year making that decision, we would have to see more over the course of the season. But here's a couple of things that he does that allows him to play so well at the age. His preparation column is off the charts.

It's his physical and it's his mental preparation, the way he prepares for games. And not only is he's smart, but he also makes really good decisions, right? Not all smart people make good decisions. You go back to this past weekend's game. He knew where the first ad was. He scrambled, gets out of the pocket. As he's scrambling, he looks behind him. Some people said, wow, I thought he was going to go in for the touchdown. And I was thinking of myself, there's no way he would do that because he's too smart. He knows when to protect himself and how to protect himself. And when you talk about longevity column, that's a really important thing. The fact that he knows how to take care of himself and when to go down and not to overextend things.

You know, I think another point that we don't talk about enough in the league right now is we're seeing several quarterbacks get older. And a lot has to do with the rules, right? I'm old enough to know or to have seen games where the rules that we had for defensive players, being able to hit the quarterback, Tom is not taking some of the hits that other quarterbacks took back in the day. So I think the rules have helped him quite a bit as well. You know, it's a Boomer Sison's that was a good quarterback. He's a very good broadcaster. And this is not a shot at Boomer, but he was on a Boston radio station.

And sometimes when you go on a local radio station, you know, you kind of play to the local people. And he's like, if you could redraft the quarterbacks, you know, Mack would go over Trevor Lawrence. And I'm like, time out, time out, time out. Trevor's averaging almost 10 yards in the air per attempt. He's putting out forest fires in every drive. He trails to battle line. You know, Mac is second lowest in the league averaging 3.1 yards, meaning basically he's checking down everything. How do you evaluate those two players? I mean, young quarterback. To me, it's like

they're playing two different games right now. I can't even compare Trevor and Matt, because one guy's asked not to just wreck the car, and the other guy's like, you've got to win the race with a bad car. So how do you evaluate them? Well, I don't know. I think it's based on what does a team want, right? Each team drafts for themselves and what they want their system to be. Both guys are in the perfect place for themselves. Mac Jones is in the right place. I want to go back a little history here. What they're doing with Mac Jones is brilliant. You look at the past weekend's game, the Jets and the Patriots. Mac Jones first pass is five yards from the line of scrimmage. Very intentional. You look at Zach Wilson's first two passes. They're 13 to 15 yards downfield. And I say that this is perfect for Mac because you go back to the history of the coaches. One of the first things I learned in the NFL when I was listening to some really smart people talking. was how Parcells and Ron Earhart, when they had Phil Sims, what they wanted to do to build Phil Sims confidence and ability

was to make sure that he threw a lot of short passes. Short passes gave him confidence. It gave his receivers confidence. It gave the team confidence. He was able to move forward differently. You go back to Brady's early time, and I was there at the Patriots, and I'm not comparing Mack Jones to Phil Sims and to Tom Brady. What I'm saying is they have a plan.

They have an idea. They're doing what Ron Earhart did, what Charlie Weiss did with Tom Brady, and they're throwing things intentionally shorter and sideways to make sure that they're getting the ball in what we call the extended running game in the hands of dynamic players. Again, just because someone has a big arm coming out of college like Zach Wilson, everyone fell in love with that viral video, doesn't mean that that's what you have to do. What you have to do is make sure that you put a quarterback in a position to succeed, not to show off tools.

So it's interesting. There's a couple of teams in this league who are picked for like third or fourth place that are two and O. So Carolina is one of those. But I saw a stat, there's two things about Carolina's two and O and we'll get us see them on Thursday. Number one, they have an excellent pass rush. They have drafted their defensive front very well.

So we can talk about Sam Darnold and Chris McCaffrey. That front is really something. It's unbelievable. Brian Burns. I mean, they are really good. So when you look at Carolina's 2 and O, do you look at it and think, no, this is a good football team or let's give them about five more weeks? I say both of those things. It is a good football team, but let's see what they are. This is a marathon. It's now a 17 game season. This is a long season. But when I look at what they're doing on defense, again, people don't realize six of the starters. I think six or seven

starters on that Carolina defense are either first round picks or second round pitch. So they've accumulated some good players on that football team. You're looking at a defense, I think they're only given up 46 yards rushing over two games. They're giving up, you know, they're the best rush defense, the best past defense, and the best overall defense, and they've given up the fewest points. Now, you can say it's early, which it is, but again, time will tell. They just played a pretty good football team with it, you know, in terms of New Orleans, with one of the guys that I think is one of the best, if not the best offensive minds and coaches and Sean Payton and held them down.

So to me, it's really encouraging if you're the Carolina Panthers, but again, time will tell, Colin. Okay, Raiders 2 and O, and I'd be honest, they went into Pittsburgh and they protected Derek Carr. Buffalo couldn't do that with Josh Allen. They put pressure on Big Ben. Do you buy the Raiders 2 and O? Now, Gruden has had very good September's, bad November, so what do you make of the Raiders, two and oh? Yeah, they were two and oh last year, but here's what I see, and I believe is a little bit

different with the Raiders. Now, I've listened to Mike Mayock take a lot of unfair heat, in my opinion, because everyone wants to talk about one pick, Colin Farrell. But if you look at that 2019 draft, he's got a number of players that are playing and playing well. All three drafts that Mike's been there, he's done a good job of adding talent. What John Gruden has done a good job of his developing the talent. and developing his young quarterback, making him either play more confident or, you know, at times,

you may some people say it's too aggressive. But I like what's going on there. You know, Colin, they brought in good players that are good people. You're talking about a culture, again, to me, this is what I find fascinating, why I wish people would look at this football team big picture. They're a good team. They're winning. They have good players.

They've got good people. They have a player that felt comfortable enough in the culture to come out as gay. They've got two other players there that are clean and sober now, and they've done it in a city, in a place, in a locker room. It's a very difficult place to do any of those things. So to me, I'm looking at the Raiders and saying to myself, you know, I understand it's about wins and losses, but they're winning games and doing it the right way with the right kind of people.

And I give a lot of credit to Mike Mayock and to John Cruden. That's a great game. I'm going to take Wisconsin by a field goal, Notre Dame and the points, but that'll be a good football game.

Those are two great programs, right? It's good to see Northern programs, win a few football games. Thank God. Penn State beat Auburn. They did. You warm weather folks, don't get all the fun. Us people up, you know, people up in the north, I used to live there for 10 years. We can play football too. Joy with the news.

No, no, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Well, Aaron Rogers, he cautioned everyone not to overreact to that week one loss. I don't know that anyone was actually overreacting and so much is just discussing the week one loss. But it came out and looked at. looked much better in the second half. Yes.

1 3517 over the Lions. And after the game, he was asked what changed with the team from week one to the next. I think we maybe tried to show that we cared a little bit more tonight. Obviously, you cared last week, but you feel like it looked like you didn't last week. Is that kind of what you're applying? I thought he would take that. I just think people like to say a lot of . And it's nice to come back in here.

after a game like that. I think that there's even more now than when I started playing. There's so many overreactions that happened on a week-to-week basis. So it's nice to come out and have a good performance and get the trolls off our back for at least a week. There are no trolls. By the way, you can't seek power all off-season and use words like status to describe yourself

and then want flowers because you beat an awful Detroit team or get a free pass for getting rolled by the Saints. You can't have it both ways. You can't be seeking power. I want power. I want to have personnel moves. I have a certain status. And then you lose to the Saints by 30.

And like we don't have a right to go, what the hell happened? Like Aaron wants it both ways on this. I just, I am a huge Aaron Rogers defender. But here's my like issue with this. One, we are allowed to discuss you getting stomped week one. Even if everything didn't happen in the offseason, you lost the Saints badly.

By the way. It was a demolition. On the heels of calling out your franchise and saying you were a 50-50 retirement guy, you had your worst performance as a pro. Right. So it wasn't like he played well and the team loss. Like everyone was bad. We're allowed to discuss it.

Nobody was overreacting to it. Nobody was saying there was nothing about that game that I learned at all. It was one game, week one. didn't change my opinion of the entire season whatsoever. Of course you were going to beat the lions, which is why most people weren't overreacting because you had the lions in week two. Now, if they had the buccaneers in week two

or they had a legitimate contender in week two, maybe people would be a little more concerned. But what was the point of saying, everything's falling apart for Greenbait? They're going to go out and do what we knew they were going to do to the lions. Nobody's overreacting. Now, he is right.

There are more people reacting than when he first started because there's more media. now. There was no Instagram when here. There was no, literally Twitter was a baby, and Instagram and Snapchat didn't exist. TikTok didn't exist. There are more platforms and channels. Yes. There's YouTube Live and there's a million more

streaming channels. Like there's more coverage of sports. This idea that the nation, let me support sports media. Now, I don't watch Green Bay media all day, but I didn't hear anybody go season over. No. Won't beat Detroit. I think everybody said the same thing. Okay, loud off season, which almost always equals distracted team. Right.

The loudest team in the off season always struggles in the season. So when you see that, you go, what was that? Yeah, I didn't see anyone. Reacting is available. You are allowed to react. An overreaction would be season's over. Everything is falling apart. Aaron Rogers ruined the season.

Mack Jones is better than Trevor Lawrence. They're not going to win another game. Right. Yeah. And then also the reaction to the question, like you just said you tried to show like that you, cared. Good.

So if him asking, did it seem like you didn't care last week or did it look like you didn't care last week? You just said, you tried to make it seem like you cared. Yeah. Because if he came out, if the person asking the question was like, did you care last week? Then that's fair. Aaron said they were flat. Why?

How are you flat in an open? So again, he's, Aaron has become, it's like a weekly thing. Aaron's the victim. It's like, of what? I just, now they have the Niners. next week. Okay. Now, by the way. That's the night game. It's a physical game. Where's the game at? It is at San Francisco. Okay. Let's see now. I'd love to see the spread on that. By the way, this is the first two weeks of the season. I didn't like the lines. It is a great week for lines this week.

The Niners are favored by three and a half. Should be. It's a physical team. Green Bay hasn't shown the ability to beat physical teams. Is it a night game? Yeah, it's a night game. If I knew, just tell me what running backs are healthy. for the Niners. And if you give me two, then I take the Niners. And three and a half. Yeah, I would. Because I don't think the Packers play well against physical teams. Aaron Jones was unbelievable last night. He was the best Aaron on the field. I hate to say it, but he was the best Aaron on the field. Well, the Rogers did have four touchdowns. He was incredible last night.

So Tom Brady will make his highly anticipated return to Gillette Stadium to face the Patriots in week four. It's so close. But he could also make NFL history that night. Now, we kind of projected that this might be the week that this happens, he only needs 500 passing yards to pass Drew Breeze for the most all time. So far this season, he's been averaging 327.5

passing yards per game. So that would set him up to break Breeze's record when he is back in New England. You know what? Both of them could win that night. Brady wins the game. Belichick gets three picks. And you'd walk away saying

Tom misses Bill and Bill misses Tom. So Tom's choppy, but he figures out a way to get a touchdown late. He should. They're a better team. But Bill gets the best of Tom for long stretches in the game. So you think if they can intercept him? Yeah, I mean, if Brady struggle, oh, I think he'll throw a pick. Yeah. I mean, this is a really good New England defense. I think I'm, I can't wait to watch this game. I really want to see what the, I want to see what the interaction is between Bill and Tom. Like, I think it's going to be short. they might like say hello to each other after the game

but I don't know because they're so weird the two of them like this they have such a weird relationship publicly like that we always talk about that moment where Bill gave him the ball and the game ball he's like I guess this is Tom's for you

I think I think so weird I think Bill and Tom when they're both retired will sit down and like Parcell's in Belichick although they're both coaches. I think Bill and Tom will sit down in six years and it'll be really funny together. It'll be really fun. Yeah, I think, you know, once you start getting into, like they're still competing against each other, obviously. So once that's done and there's nothing more in the history has been written, then they can start talking about it. That'll be a great, I mean,

whoever gets the rights to that interview. Congratulations. So Zach Wilson had a rough outing Sunday, four interceptions and the Jets lost to the Patriots. But Robert Sala is confident that Wilson we'll be able to put this bad performance behind him. All right. I talked to him real quick. I'm going to talk to him again after these meetings. It was real quick. I mean, he's such a resilient young man.

He's, I mean, he could probably recite every single play that happened. And he's going to want to talk about it and go through it and learn from it. And, you know, I know he's going to get better from this. He's in a good place. Well, he's a little undisciplined for me. And New England's the worst team to be undisciplined against. Right. Right.

And the worst team to play if you're a rookie quarterback. Yeah. And you have to be totally disciplined to beat a Belichick defense. That's why mostly veteran quarterbacks who have nothing to prove, you know, the Peyton Manning's in their prime. Those are the guys that beat Belichick. Because if you're trying to prove something or you're a little undisciplined, it's just not going to work. But that particular game is not really concerning to me.

Like, I don't, that's not that happening in that game as bad as it was, did not change my opinion of Zach Wilson either way. Like, that's an impossible game for a rookie to win. And look, four interceptions is four interceptions, but he's the fourth rookie top five pick with zero touchdowns and at least four interceptions in a game over the last 20 seasons. Sam Darnold, Mark Sanchez,

and Alex Smith, three of those were Jets quarterbacks, by the way, to do it. It's not, you know, a rookie quarterback is going to go out and have a bad game. Like, it's not, that's not uncommon. It's not shocking. Guys, in their second year, look what just happened to Joe Burrow, whom none of us think is

untalented or not the future of that organization. You're going to have bad games, especially against a Bill Belichick defense. So I don't think it's anything to overreact to Aaron. We're just reacting to it. And we'll see how Zach develops. Again, all these young quarterbacks, I'm just looking for growth

at the end of the season. There's nothing to panic about right now. Joy with the news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by. The Hurd Lie News. By the way, in Chicago, be careful what you wish for, Zach Wilson of Jets. These young quarterbacks can be unraveled, unveiled here very quickly. Matt Nagy and the media

in Chicago, the media wants Justin Fields to play. Matt Nagy wants Andy Dalton to play, so this is the confrontation. Nagy's a very nice guy, smile on his face, but it's getting a little surly around the quarterback position with the Bears. If Andy's healthy, is here your starter? If Andy is healthy is he your start? That's something that I'm not going to get into with scheme. scheme. Of course it is. That's a 100% scheme, Brad. That's 100% scheme. Whether it's scheme or not. Chicago's got a bigger issue, Bears fans. It's your front office. Think about this.

You're always up against the cap. And yet you're the only NFL team that's always up against the cap and you don't pay your quarterback anything. The Rams are so well run in terms of the cap. They pay their quarterback a fortune. the highest paid corner, the highest paid defensive line, at highly paid wide receivers, and Jared Goff on another team is still 13% of their cap.

And they can still afford a quarterback, a defensive lineman, a great corner. You guys had to get rid of your best corner, and you don't pay your quarterback anything. One's a rookie and one's Andy Dalton on the cheap. I mean, tell me a unit for the Bears outside of linebacker that's great. I have one. I mean, offensive lines a mess. Secondary now in a rebuild.

Linebacker's great. You got Rokon Smith, Quinn, you know, you got lineback. It's eating all your money up. I mean, we have teams in this league, Kansas City, Tampa, Seattle, Cleveland, Rams. They have multiple stars in multiple units.

I mean, in Tampa and Kansas City, in the Rams, 49ers, you're paying your quarterback a lot of money and you have high. Highly compensated offensive lines in San Francisco. Highly compensated defensive lines in San Francisco. Chicago's out of money. And they pay the quarterback nothing because they pay their linebackers too much.

Not exactly the most important position on a field, obviously, or you'd win more. So the bigger issue here is what I have a problem with, you've been trying to rebuild that offensive line for three years and it still stinks. It still stinks. fair, because this was my takeaway, Leroy, about the game last night. I didn't learn anything. Aaron Rogers and Devonte and Aaron Jones are amazing. And the defense still doesn't make anybody uncomfortable. Is that fair? Is that what you saw? I think it's very fair. I think if you look at the first two quarterbacks that the Packers' defense played, you know, James Winston, I told people, I mean, they just kept seeing the 30 interceptions when he was in Tampa. I say he also told 30 touchdowns.

Now, Jared Goff, Joe Barry, the new coordinator, he has some, he knows him a little bit. They were together, you know, in L.A. with the Rams. But it just seems like, you know, this is a copycat league, And you know this. Pretty much the Saints are running these pick plays that, you know, rub routes. Well, guess what? It, you know, you come in, Detroit's going to run the same thing. It just seems like to me that we're going to have to give Joe Barry a few more weeks to try to figure out what does he really want to do with this particular defense.

Is it bend on break? But one time, Colin, he has so much time to throw the ball, Jared golf. He just didn't know what to do. Right. So I think for the most part, it's going to take a while. And plus, the Darius Smith didn't play last night, so that helps. You know, I want to take a pulse of the local media because Aaron Rogers is increasingly, loves to play the victim.

Everybody's a troll. And I'm like, well, I'm not hearing that nationally. None of us thought Green Bay would lose to Detroit. We all thought they'd bounce back and blow them out. So what Aaron may be saying that the local media is trolling or something, but I don't hear the local Green Bay in Milwaukee media. So when they got blown out by the Saints, what was the next six days like in your chair, local media? How did they react?

It was on fire. It was. He brought it on himself. If you're going to say all these things about Green Bay is just a destination only to play with me. You want a random car bag. And you go from 31.5 points, number one in the league, by the way, to three, it's going to be an issue. But the good thing about it was he didn't run away from it. He said he played bad, but let's not get beside ourselves, Colin.

He made three throws against Detroit, only he can make those throws. We're accustomed to seeing those throws all the time. And when you don't see those throws, it's going to be an issue, especially when the whole offseason was about whether or now he wanted to play or not. Yeah. So this morning, when you look at this team, better or worse than last year, your team, takeaway on when you watch Green Bay, do you feel like this is again an NFC championship team? Right now, no. And we got to be honest with that because the eye test would say that, you know, it just don't look right.

Right. Just don't look right. Last two years, it looked right. You know, you got a first year coach in Matt LaFluid, go to two NFC championship games. You know, and for the most part, they had a top nine defense. If you're pet it and you're like, well, wait a minute, I couldn't do no worse. and that, but they ran the football. Now, Rogers were able to get them out of that two shell.

If you're not going to run the ball, that's all defense is going to do. Now, let's be honest. He probably played one of the two worst secondaries with the Saints with a bunch of young guys. And of course, with Jeff Akuta out and more guys out in Detroit. So this was expected. But Colin, this was a cast 22 game. If you lose to them, it's the end of the world. If you blow them out, it's just Detroit.

Yeah. By the way, sometimes a defense can be bad but get better. Do you think the Green Bay defense can get better over the next month? If so, how? Great question. I think so, yes. If you saw the second half, things did change. They moved Stokes in the first round pick. They put him in and put Kevin King on the inside. And they also put Jari Alexander on the inside.

So they're trying new things now in the secondary. and that kind of makes me feel good. Now, LaFleur did say he had a conversation with Drobe Berry about changing it up a little bit and it seemed to work. So I'm excited to see what's going to happen against San Francisco. But you are correct. Until you play a team like San Francisco who stopped you from the Super Bowl the year before, until you beat them soundly to run the football and stop the run,

people are always going to look at you with the side eye, I just don't believe it. So they're going to have to go through that. But the good thing about it, Colin. And there's just a third week in a row there on national televised game so America can see and make their own mind up. This morning, if I say pick a winner, Niners, Packers, who do you like? Why? Well, you have to pick the Niners.

Only because of the history of the ITES. They're having a dual, a quarterback system up in San Francisco and it seemed to be working with Tray Lance. And, you know, Jimmy Garoppel only threw the ball nine times. But I'll say this, though, until you can beat a team at their place, you make you feel good about it. But, you know, whether we, I say, or you say, whoever, the players dictate who wins these games. But when you have a team like San Francisco that already know they're going to run the ball and they're going to throw the ball to George Kittle, the last two weeks, tight ends have caught touchdown with Hawkinson and a young man from the Saints. So now you're going to play one of the best tight ends.

They're going to run the same rub around. So the next few days, you know, the Green Bay Packers got to shore up some of these things to feel good about playing San Francisco.
